Non-structural carbohydrates (NSCs) can reflect the balance of resource allocation and trade-offs, as well as the adaptability of plants to the environment. Alterations in environmental conditions across an elevation gradient may impact the carbon balance within leaves. Nonetheless, it remains highly uncertain whether the effect of elevation on NSCs differs among species and sexes. To reveal the response patterns of leaf NSCs in dioecious plants with elevation, Populus cathayana Rehd. and Hippophae rhamnoides L., distributed at four elevations in the subalpine region of western Sichuan, China, were selected, and female and male leaves were sampled and measured for their contents of NSCs, soluble sugar, and starch. Meanwhile, the relationships of NSCs, soluble sugar, and starch with leaf nitrogen and phosphorus were analyzed. The results showed that the elevational patterns of NSCs were mainly dependent on species and were slightly affected by sex. Leaf NSCs in both sexes of P. cathayana did not exhibit significant linear changes, whereas those in H. rhamnoides increased significantly and linearly with elevation. For P. cathayana, a significant increase in leaf starch with elevation was only found in female plants and may benefit from phosphorus deficiency, as it was significantly negatively correlated with phosphorus. However, leaf soluble sugar and starch between sexes of H. rhamnoides showed similar patterns of significant increases with elevation, and they were not correlated significantly with nitrogen and phosphorus. This might be due to H. rhamnoides, which is a nitrogen-fixing plant and thereby did not show deficiencies or limitations in nitrogen and phosphorus, as shown by the decreased or unchanged elevational patterns of nitrogen/phosphorus, starch/phosphorus, and soluble sugar/phosphorus. Overall, our results emphasize that species, rather than sex, is an important factor influencing the elevational pattern of NSCs, but for specific species, such as P. cathayana, in this study, there was a divergence in the elevational response of the allocation of starch and soluble sugar between sexes, reflecting the specific adaptive strategies of different plant species or sexes in response to changes in the growing environment. Seeds are one of the most important characteristics of plant evolution. Within a seed, the embryo, which will grow into a plant, can survive harsh environments. When the seeds are mature, the mother plant will disperse them from its body, allowing them to be taken away to grow in a new place. Otherwise, if the young generation grows alongside the mother plants in the same place, they will compete for sunlight and nutrition. The mother plants use different strategies to send away their seeds. One of these strategies is endozoochory, which means that the seeds disperse via ingestion by animals. There is a conflict between the seeds' abilities to attract animals and protect the embryo within the digestion systems of animals. Magnolia seeds exhibit typical endozoochory. The seed coats of Magnolia feature sarcotestas and sclerotestas. The sarcotesta, which is fleshy, bright-colored, and edible, attracts animals. The sclerotesta is hard and woody, protecting the embryo from the digestive systems of animals. In this study, we used scanning electron and light microscopes to examine the development of the sarcotesta and sclerotesta of Magnolia stellata seed coats. The results showed that the sarcotesta and sclerotesta come from the outer integument. This result confirms the hypothesis of Asa Gray from 1848. As a development trend of cross-border integration of industries in the digital economy, service-oriented manufacturing has achieved certain research results in the construction of wide value chain. However, in the transition development stage, the collaborative efficiency problem of service-oriented manufacturing value co-creation is increasingly prominent due to the unbalanced development of digitalization level of heterogeneous subjects. Therefore, based on the perspective of various subjects in the value chain of service-oriented manufacturing, this paper analyzes the synergistic mechanism of value co-creation of core manufacturing, service enterprises and customers under the influence of digitalization level difference. Then the paper constructs a three-party digital cooperative evolution game model and uses Netlogo software to simulation analyse. The results reveal the collaborative path of service-oriented manufacturing digital transformation. According to the comparison of the paths of actual enterprises, it is found that the paths has universality, which provide strategic reference for service-oriented manufacturing digital transformation. Soil greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes relate to soil carbon and nitrogen budgets and have a significant impact on climate change. Nevertheless, the temporal variation and magnitude of the fluxes of all three major GHGs (CO2, CH4 and N2O) and their influencing factors have not been elucidated clearly in primary forests on the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Herein, field chamber GHG fluxes from May to November, soil microbial community and enzyme activity were analyzed in a fir-dominated (Abies fargesii var. faxoniana) primary forest. The emission rates of CO2 and N2O ranged between 64.69–243.22 mg CO2 m−2 h−1 and 1.69–5.46 ug N2O m−2 h−1, exhibiting a temporally unimodal pattern with a peak in July. The soil acted as a CH4 sink, and the uptake rate varied between 52.96 and 84.67 μg CH4 m−2 h−1 with the higher uptake rates in June and November. The temporal variation in the CO2 flux was significantly correlated with the geometric mean of enzyme activities, suggesting that the soil CO2 flux was determined by microbial activity rather than soil microbial biomass. The soil N2O flux was positively related to nitrate concentration with marginal significance, probably because N2O was a byproduct of nitrification and denitrification processes. The soil CH4 uptake was closely associated with methanotrophic biomass (18:1ω7c). The results highlight divergent temporal dynamics of GHG fluxes owing to different driving mechanisms and an important CH4 sink in the primary forest soil, helping to evaluate the carbon and nitrogen budgets of primary forests on the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Root exudation fulfills fundamental roles in regulating carbon (C)-nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems, yet the main ecological drivers of root exudation and underlying mechanisms in forests under natural gradients remain poorly understood. Here, we investigated the intraspecific variation of root exudation rates in two alpine coniferous forests (Abies faxoniana Rehder et Wilson and Abies georgei Orr) along two elevation gradients on the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Meanwhile, the fine root traits and associated climate and soil parameters were assessed to examine the effects of elevation-dependent changes in climatic and soil nutrient conditions on root exudation. Results showed that root exudation rates decreased with increasing elevation and were positively correlated with mean air temperature. However, the relationships of root exudation with soil moisture and soil nitrogen availability were not significant. The structural equation model (SEM) further revealed that air temperature affected root exudation both directly and indirectly through the effects on fine root morphology and biomass, implying that the adaption of root C allocation and fine root morphological traits to low temperatures primarily resulted in declined root exudation at higher elevations. These results highlight the perceived importance of temperature in determining the elevational variation of root exudation in alpine coniferous forests, which has foreseeably great implications for the exudate-mediated ecosystem C and nutrient processes in the face of drastic warming on the eastern Tibetan Plateau. Soil fungi play an integral and essential role in maintaining soil ecosystem functions. The understanding of altitude variations and their drivers of soil fungal community composition and diversity remains relatively unclear. Mountains provide an open, natural platform for studying how the soil fungal community responds to climatic variability at a short altitude distance. Using the Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing technique, we examined soil fungal community composition and diversity among seven vegetation types (dry valley shrub, valley-mountain ecotone broadleaved mixed forest, subalpine broadleaved mixed forest, subalpine coniferous-broadleaved mixed forest, subalpine coniferous forest, alpine shrub meadow, alpine meadow) along a 2582 m altitude gradient in the alpine–gorge region on the eastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. Ascomycota (47.72%), Basidiomycota (36.58%), and Mortierellomycota (12.14%) were the top three soil fungal dominant phyla in all samples. Soil fungal community composition differed significantly among the seven vegetation types along altitude gradients. The α-diversity of soil total fungi and symbiotic fungi had a distinct hollow pattern, while saprophytic fungi and pathogenic fungi showed no obvious pattern along altitude gradients. The β-diversity of soil total fungi, symbiotic fungi, saprophytic fungi, and pathogenic fungi was derived mainly from species turnover processes and exhibited a significant altitude distance-decay pattern. Soil properties explained 31.27−34.91% of variation in soil fungal (total and trophic modes) community composition along altitude gradients, and the effects of soil nutrients on fungal community composition varied by trophic modes. Soil pH was the main factor affecting α-diversity of soil fungi along altitude gradients. The β-diversity and turnover components of soil total fungi and saprophytic fungi were affected by soil properties and geographic distance, while those of symbiotic fungi and pathogenic fungi were affected only by soil properties. This study deepens our knowledge regarding altitude variations and their drivers of soil fungal community composition and diversity, and confirms that the effects of soil properties on soil fungal community composition and diversity vary by trophic modes along altitude gradients in the alpine–gorge region. Ectomycorrhizal (ECM) symbiosis is an evolutionary biological trait of higher plants for effective nutrient uptakes. However, little is known that how the formation and morphological differentiations of ECM roots mediate the nutrients of below‐ and aboveground plant tissues and the balance among nutrient elements across environmental gradients. Here, we investigated the effects of ECM foraging strategies on root and foliar N and P concentrations and N:P ratio Abies faxoniana under variations of climate and soil conditions.The ECM symbionts preferentially mediated P uptake under both N and P limitations. The uptake efficiency of N and P was primarily associated with the ECM root traits, for example, ECM root tip density, superficial area of ECM root tips, and the ratio of living to dead root tips, and was affected by the ECM proliferations and morphological differentiations. The tissue N and P concentrations were positively associated with the abundance of the contact exploration type and negatively with that of the short‐distance exploration type.Our findings indicate that the nutritional status of both below‐ and aboveground plant tissues can be strongly affected by ECM symbiosis in natural environments. Scutellaria scordifolia Fisch. ex Schrank Li is a traditional Chinese medicinal plant of genus Scutellaria from the Labiatae family. The complete chloroplast genome of was 152,336 bp in length, which contained 133 complete genes including 87 protein-coding genes (87 PCGs), 8 ribosomal RNA genes (8 rRNAs), and 37 transfer RNA genes (37 tRNAs). The GC content of chloroplast DNA was 38.3%. The corresponding values of the LSC, SSC, and IR regions were 36.3%, 32.5%, and 43.6%, respectively. Phylogenetic tree showed that the species from genus Scutellaria were divided into two monophyletic clades, and the divergence time of S. scordifolia was earlier than that of the other species. The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Salix maizhokunggarensis, a native shrub willow species in the south of China, has been characterized using Illumina pair-end sequencing. The plastome is 155,093 bp in length, with one large single copy region of 83,956 bp, one small single copy region of 16,221 bp, and two inverted repeat (IR) regions of 27,458 bp. It contains 116 genes, including 79 protein-coding genes, 8 ribosomal RNA, and 36 transfer RNA. Phylogenetic tree shows that this species is a sister species to S. suchowensis. The plastome of Salix can provide significant insight for elucidating the phylogenetic relationship of taxa within Salicaceae. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
