(HE-EO ×200). gl Calibre persistent artery, despite being initially described in the stomach, has been found in other locations along the gastrointestinal tract and oral mucosa.1,2 Howell and Evans3 were the first to describe CPA in the oral mucosa as "prominent lower labial artery" and Mikó et al4 coined the term of calibre persistent labial artery (CPLA), for those located in the lower lip.
