Cellulose acetate (CA) membranes used in reverse osmosis (RO) desalination techniques often face fouling challenges. In this experimental study, the phase inversion method was employed to investigate the incorporation of graphene oxide nanoparticles (GONP) metal–organic frameworks (MOF), into the casting solution for composite CA‐RO membranes. The effects of varying GONP concentrations on fouling resistance and hydrophilicity were evaluated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angle measurements, and water content analysis. The results demonstrated that the modified CA membrane with 0.05 wt% GONP exhibited improved water permeability (10.3 L/m2 h) and salt rejection (95.8%) compared with the pristine CA membrane. These improvements stem from increased hydrophilicity and reduced fouling. This study's findings suggest that incorporating GONP into the polymeric doped solution can effectively mitigate fouling issues and enhance the performance of RO membranes in desalination applications. This article describes the use of Monte Carlo simulations to examine the magnetism of a planar striped Borophene-like nanostructure, which is made up of atoms with spin σ-1. We investigate how changes in the exchange coupling (Jσσ), external magnetic field (H), and crystal field (D) parameters affect the thermal changes in magnetization and susceptibility. We also analyze the changes in the blocking temperature (TB) based on variations in Jσσ, H, and D. Additionally, we discuss the hysteresis cycle and the effects of various physical parameters on the coercive field (Hc). The significant magnetic response of the striped Borophene-like nanostructure has potential applications for a variety of technologies that operate in low-temperature conditions. A new method using fluorescence was developed to detect Hg2+ ions in water. This method relied on the reaction between NH2‐MIL‐53(Al) and 5‐bromo‐2‐hydroxyacetophenone. The method was carefully fine‐tuned for optimal reaction conditions and analytical parameters like pH levels, nanosensor quantity, and detection limits. It showed great linearity in detecting Hg2+ ions in the range of 0.0–3.0 ppm (0.0–1.50 × 10−5 M), with a very low detection limit of 1.65 × 10−2 ppm (8.23 × 10−8 M). We tested how well the method can distinguish between different substances by investigating whether other common substances in water samples would interfere. The results were positive, as the presence of these substances did not significantly affect the accuracy of detecting Hg2+ ions, confirming the method's reliability. In order to confirm its dependability, we conducted a quantitative test to detect Hg2+ ions in water samples. The recovery rates obtained ranged from 97.16% to 103.2%, demonstrating the method's precision and accuracy. A comparison with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP‐OES), a well‐known method for analyzing trace metals, produced similar results, further instilling confidence in the 5Br2HA = N‐Al‐MOF nanosensor that was developed. In general, this research emphasizes the exciting potential of the new nanosensor in detecting Hg2+ ions in various water and cosmetic samples. This work is the first corroboration of the synthesis, characterization, and advanced energy applications of the novel n-type Ga2O3–ZnO heaped nanorods (HNRs) via modified green route coupled microwave abetted synthesis. Upon nano-composite formation of this eco-friendly and sustainable material, there was a subsequent band gap tuning from 4.83 to 3.31 eV. Synthesized nanorods were characterized with the mixed monoclinic and hexagonal phase possessing average crystallite size of 52.51 nm. Ga2O3–ZnO HNRs sequined nickel foam electrode was assessed for energy generation in terms of the oxygen and hydrogen production. Green HNRs have greater propitiousness toward hydrogen generation with the lower overpotential and Tafel slope value of 127 mV and 117.9 mV dec−1. With the durability for 1500 min in electrolyte environment, the fabricated electrode excelled in reaching a charge storage capacity of 514 mAH g−1. In terms of the photoelectrical operation, Ga2O3–ZnO HNRs surpassed the pristine nanomaterials by effectively passivating the perovskite solar cells. Solar cell device comprised of the green HNRs as passivation agents achieved an efficiency of 16.19% and 1.04 V of the open circuit voltage (Voc). Owing to the higher global energy needs through cleaner sources the present study manifests a modified and ecofriendly method for the fabrication of CuO–Sb2O3-based electrode for electrochemical experiments. The aqueous solution derived from the Amaranthus viridis L. plant, belonging to the Amaranthaceae family, was employed as a reducing agent in order to impact the structure of CuO–Sb2O3 nanocomposites. The improved material exhibited a regular crystal size of 40.04 nm that is in excellent accordance with the findings obtained from scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, FE-SEM, and energy-dispersive spectroscopy were utilized in order to examine and assess the synthesized nanocomposite. Based on the Tauc plot, the optical bandgap energy was found to be 2.7 eV. The bioorganic framework-derived CuO–Sb2O3 electrode was then evaluated for energy generation and storage applications, with cyclic voltammetry revealing a capacitance of 344.4 F/g at 2 mV/s. Hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen evolution reactions demonstrated the electrocatalytic potential of CuO–Sb2O3 as a water splitting electrocatalyst, with the highest efficiency of the electrode up to 18 h for HER. Recently, heterojunction-based ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors (PDs) have found a wide range of applications in day-to-day life. The fabrication of these UV PD devices using high-k TiO2 nanostructures i.e. nanotubes (NTs) at low temperature processing steps in association with cost-effective deposition methods is crucial. In this work, Ag/n-TiO2NTs/p-Si heterojunction-based MSM UV PD devices were fabricated using hydrothermal, spin coating and e-beam evaporation methods. The structural, chemical, optical, morphological and elemental composition characteristics of the formed TiO2NTs/p-Si stacks were explored by XRD/Raman, XPS, UV–Vis, FESEM and EDS techniques, respectively. XRD and FESEM analysis revealed the formation of anatase phase of TiO2NTs with an average diameter of ~ 16.1 nm and length of ~ 50.9 nm. XPS investigation revealed two intense core level BE peaks of Ti2p3/2 and Ti2p1/2. The photodetection parameters of the fabricated MSM UV PD device were systematically checked in dark and UV-A light (320–400 nm) illumination. At 3 V, the fabricated Ag/n-TiO2NTs/p-Si device presented superior photosensing properties with a responsivity of 570 mA/W, EQE of 189% and rise/decay times of 120 ms/95 ms. Further, the superior structural and photosensing parameters attained from the fabricated MSM UV PD device may expand its scope to serve as a future cost-effective alternative to other wide bandgap semiconductor (GaN, SiC and ZnO) based heterojunction PD devices. BACKGROUND: This work deciphers the first report on the treble lanthanide‐doped perovskite heterosystem [Gd3+‐Ho3+‐Dy3+]:CsPbI2.7Br0.3 (GHD:C‐PVSK) and subsequently explores its prospects for solar cells, energy generation, and charge storage. RESULTS: GHD:C‐PVSK remained optically active for a period of 28 days with a band gap energy of 1.62–1.76 eV. The developed perovskite material possesses cubic phase with typical ABX3 geometry and the subsequently deposited thin films have compact morphology. As a light absorber layer, a GHD:C‐PVSK‐based solution‐processed perovskite solar cell executed an efficiency of 15.11% and an improved fill factor of 71.25%. In electrocatalytic assays, GHD:C‐PVSK emerged as a bifunctional catalyst for oxygen and hydrogen generation with greater tendency towards pure hydrogen production, exuding overpotential (ηHER) – that is, 143 mV and 123.4 mV dec−1 of the Tafel slope value. With a remarkable service life of 100 min inside the electrolyte, the GHD:C‐PVSK electrode was characterized by its excellent charge storage. It has a unit capacity of 383 mA h g−1 and is marked by reduced equivalent series resistance (Rs) of 0.66 Ω. CONCLUSION: Through photoelectrical and electrical analysis, GHD:C‐PVSK has emerged as a sustainable and energy‐efficient material that can be stabilized by suitable thermal modulation and lanthanide doping. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry (SCI). The rapid growth of technologies has influenced our daily lives to build efficient energy storage systems for various electric vehicles and portable electronic devices. The abundant reserves, low cost, and low toxicity of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) make them one of the most promising next-generation energy storage technologies. However, limited anode materials hinder their further development. Here, we predict a 2D VC4 monolayer as the Na host material for SIBs. Based on our theoretical analysis, it is stable dynamically as well as thermally. As a Na host material, the VC4 anode is found to have a low open-circuit voltage (0.51 V) and a high Na storage capacity of 1353 mA h g−1. Also, the Bader charge technique reveals charge transfer from Na to VC4 and thus verifies the electrochemical reaction between Na and the host. Eventually, we inspect the low activation barrier for Na migration on VC4 (0.32 eV), revealing rapid charging/discharging rates. This study reports the efficient synthesis and thorough characterization of novel graphene doped BiV O 4 / ZnO nanocomposites. Among these doping percentages, 3% BVZO/G is optimized composite as it shows the highest photocatalytic performance i–e 98% and 95% among all the doping percentages. Under the visible light exposure λ ⩾ 420 nm , the decomposition of tetracycline (TC) and methylene blue has been studied to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of the prepared composites. The characterization techniques such as photoluminescence spectroscopy, UV visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared have been used to investigate the optical, structural, morphological, and vibrational properties respectively. The findings of the research indicate that the doping of graphene resulted in enhanced absorption of visible light and efficient mitigation of charge carrier recombination. To check the stability of optimized photocatalyst, reusability test has been performed. Additionally, role of active species has been examined using different scavengers in trapping experiment. Construction of a homojunction is an effective strategy for effective charge transfer to suppress charge carrier recombination in augmented photocatalysis. The present work reveals the synthesis of homojunction formation through the reinforcement of Cd nanostructures into a solid lattice of zinc vanadate (Zn3V2O8, ZnV) using the hydrothermal method. The formation of a homojunction between cadmium vanadate (CdV, Cd3V2O8) and ZnV was confirmed by various spectroscopic and electron microscopic techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) associated with energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) mapping, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry (UV–Vis). The synthesized material was explored for photocatalytic hydrogen (PC H2) production using the water splitting process under visible-light illumination. The spectroscopic and experimental results revealed that the formation of a CdV/ZnV homojunction significantly improved the transport of photogenerated charge carriers (electron–hole pairs) and thus resulted in enhanced H2 production efficiency (366.34 μmol g−1 h−1) as compared to pristine ZnV (229.09 μmol g−1 h−1) and CdV (274.91 μmol g−1 h−1) using methanol as a sacrificial reagent (SR) with water under visible-light illumination. The synergistic effect of Cd on ZnV NPs resulted in band gap reduction and broadened visible light absorption which was attributed to enhanced H2 production. The current study explains how a homojunction affects various features of important factors behind photocatalytic activity, which supports significant insights into the advancement of materials in the future. Hydrogen storage is a crucial step in commercializing hydrogen‐based energy production. Solid‐state hydrogen storage has gained much attention from researchers and needs extensive research. In the present study, we investigate the structural, mechanical, and optoelectronic properties of lithium‐based LiAH3 (A=Mn, Fe, Co) metal hydrides to elucidate their potential for solid‐state hydrogen storage. First, we evaluate the structure stability of LiAH3 hydrides using formation enthalpies calculations. Then, the mechanical stability is determined by elastic stiffness constants, which reveal that LiAH3 hydrides are stable mechanically as they meet the Born stability requirements. Electronic band structure calculations manifest that all LiAH3 hydrides possess a metallic character. Several optical properties have been discussed in detail. The gravimetric hydrogen storage capacities of LiMnH3, LiFeH3 and LiCoH3 hydrides are 4.65, 4.60 and 4.39 wt%, respectively, achieving the target of US‐DOE for rechargeable equipment. Additionally, we have determined the volumetric hydrogen storage capacities (Cv) for all LiAH3 hydrides. It is worth mentioning that the highest Cv values have been obtained to be 180.80, 188.18 and 177.25gH2l−1 for LiMnH3, LiFeH3 and LiCoH3 hydrides, respectively, which have achieved the US‐DOE target set for 2025. The current study implements an environmental-friendly and sustainable methodology to fabricate CuO:La2O3-based electrode by using phyto-aqueous extract derived from the Amaranthus viridis plant leaves. CuO:La2O3 was synthesized in several concentrations ranging from 2.5 to 10%. The synthesized nanoparticles revealed varied morphology for different concentrations with a varying crystalline size in the range of 18.2–43.44 nm. The lowest optical band gap energy of 3.25 eV was observed for 7.5% doped concentration. Taking advantage of its unique morphology and lower crystalline size, 7.5% CuO:La2O3 was specifically selected to be utilized as an electrode material for subsequent investigations involving supercapacitor and water splitting studies. The supercapacitor behavior was studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge discharge (GCD) techniques. The specific capacitance value of 879.6 F/g was obtained for the fabricated electrode. The water splitting studies revealed the better potential of fabricated electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction with an overpotential value of 351 mV as compared to that of hydrogen evolution reaction where the overpotential value of 182 mV was observed. Moreover, the fabricated electrocatalyst showed excellent cyclic stability for more than 2000 cycles and up to 20 h. Nevertheless, comprehensive findings displayed CuO:La2O3 as an efficient energy storage material as well as promising catalytic material for the water splitting studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Molybdenum Disulphide (MoS2) being an efficient photocatalyst due to its unique optical and structural properties, have attained the attention of researchers during last decade. However, poor absorption of light, fast recombination of charge carriers and low active sites are the barriers for its effective use as a photocatalyst. These constraints could be removed by the incorporation of transition metals in pure MoS2. To that end, we employed a facile and cost-effective hydrothermal method for preparation of pure and copper (Cu) doped (1, 3, 5, and 7%) MoS2 nanomaterials to investigate their degradation efficiency against methylene blue (MB) dye at different pH values (04–10) of reaction solution. Various characterization techniques like SEM, EDX, XRD, FTIR, UV–Vis, and PL were utilized to explore the morphological, compositional, structural, vibrational and optical properties of fabricated nanomaterials. The results revealed that 5% Cu doped MoS2 is an optimal sample among all other fabricated materials, having hexagonal structure, lowest band gap and recombination time of photogenerated charge carriers. This leads to its extraordinary performance in the degradation of MB (i.e.94%) in basic medium having pH 09. The outcomes of this research would be a valuable contribution toward advancing the development of exceptionally efficient TMDs photocatalysts for degradation of organic pollutants. A combination of reagents using I2 and DMSO has been established for the selective transformation of unactivated alkenes into iodohydrins and β‐iodoethers. The developed approach was served by the dual roles of DMSO as an oxidant as well as a hydroxylating agent under different solvent systems at 85 °C. The developed method holds an operational simplicity and is consistent with wide range of substituted alkenes to deliver iodohydrins and β‐iodoethers in yields up to 86 %. The present study aimed to fabricate a novel polymeric spongy composite to enhance skin regeneration composed of Nystatin (antifungal agent) and Silver Nanoparticles (AgNps). Different formulations (F1–F8) were developed & characterized by using various analytical techniques. AgNps synthesized by chemical reduction method showed spherical morphology 2 µm in size showed by SEM and XRD. A fine porous structure of gel embedded with AgNps having an amorphous structure with 10 % crystallinity due to AgNps was found. IR spectra revealed no chemical interaction between polymers and Nystatin. An increase in thermal stability of formulation was observed till 700 ℃ analyzed by Differential Scanning Calorimetry. Cytotoxic analysis on L929 mouse skin fibroblast cells showed a decrease in cell viability as Ag concentration increased (inactivating Fibroblast and keratinocytes) while 10 mg composition was found safest concentration (94%). Optimized formulation (F2) presented in-vitro drug release up to 90.59% ± 0.76 at pH 7.4, swelling studies (87.5% ± 0.57), water retention (26.60 ± 0.34), pH (5.31 ± 0.03). In the animal burn model, the group that received CHG/Ag/Nystatin healed the wound significantly (p < 0.05). Designing efficient electrocatalytic systems through facile synthesis remains a formidable task. To address this issue, this paper presents the design of a combination material comprising two transition metal oxides (copper oxide and manganese oxide (CuO/MnO2)), synthesized using a conventional microwave technique to efficiently engage as an active oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst. The structural and morphological properties of the composite were confirmed by the aid of X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS). FESEM clearly indicated well-aligned interlacing of CuO with MnO2. The OER performance was carried out in 1 M KOH. The assembled CuO/MnO2 delivered a benchmark current density (j = 10 mA cm−2) at a minimal overpotential (η = 294 mV), while pristine CuO required a high η (316 mV). Additionally, the CuO/MnO2 electrocatalyst exhibited stability for more than 15 h. These enhanced electrochemical performances were attributed to the large volume and expanded diameter of the pores, which offer ample surface area for catalytic reactions to boost OER. Potentially superior to rare earth metal-containing electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction electrolysis, transition metal chalcogenides have yet to reach a catalytic activity that would allow them to be extensively adopted. In light of this, it is crucial to develop coherent designs for transition metal-based electrocatalysts on conducting polymer support to achieve high-efficiency OER. Herein, we present an easy solvothermal synthesis and exceptional catalytic performance of CoSe@gCN as an OER electrocatalyst in basic media. The synthesized materials were observed by various analysis. The phase composition confirmed by the X-rays diffraction (XRD) technique and further morphological analysis indicates the morphology of CoSe@gCN, which are considered responsible for revealing a great number of active spots and enhanced electrochemically active surface area. On the other hand, superior OER crusade and stability of the CoSe@gCN electrode with (overpotential of 174 mV, Tafel slope of 57 mV dec−1) in 1.0 M basic KOH are caused by the NF's excellent conductivity and highly porous framework, and a higher value of specific surface area. It also maintained high stability for almost 20 h, showing the higher OER activity in industrial application. As a result, our findings interpret that the transition metal chalcogenides with certain morphology can enhance electrocatalytic efficiency with graphitic carbon nitride, which demonstrates its potential for stable and sustainable energy production. This research work focuses on analyzing of the influence of vacancies on the dielectric characteristics of the Hexagonal Boron Nitride lattice using Monte Carlo simulations. The investigation focuses on the thermal polarizations and dielectric susceptibilities and finally hysteresis cycles under the effect of vacancies. The results reveal that vacancies on σ-atoms (Vσ) and S-atoms (VS) significantly affect the blocking temperature (TB), remanent polarization (Pr), and saturation polarization (Psat). These findings can contribute to a deeper understanding of the relationship between vacancies and dielectric behavior, and have potential implications in the design and optimization of materials with desired properties for various applications. In the epoch of semiconductor technology, the design and development of doped semiconductor systems for spintronics and optoelectronics have allured hefty curiosity due to their modern physical characteristics. In this context, we report the chemical synthesis and tunable optical as well as magnetic properties of Zn0.99-xErxCr0.01S nanoparticles for the first time. Comprehensive structural studies proposed the effectual substitution of erbium and chromium ions into the parent matrix instead of Zn cation. A trivial spherical shaped cubic nanoparticle observed from the TEM micrographs. The erbium characteristic bands in the co-doped samples confirm the effectual incorporation of erbium co-doping in the ZnS matrix. The optical bandgap of the ZnS increased after chromium doing, and then, it decreased for erbium co-doping samples. The ferromagnetic feature of the ZnS:Cr nanoparticles significantly improved with respect to the Er co-doping concentration. The motto of the present investigation was to create the ferromagnetism in ZnS:Cr system and enrich that ferromagnetism via erbium co-doping. The pyrazole-pyridin-2-amine, as a tridentate pyrazole ligand, and its neutral Co(II)/pyrazole complex were prepared using a direct method with a high yield. The desired pyrazole ligand and its complex were subjected to several physicochemical and thermal analyses; moreover, the DFT-like optimization of MEP, HOMO/LUMO, and TD-DFT correlated well with their experimental relatives. Additionally, the oxidation catalytic activities of the Co(II)/pyrazole complex, such as the catecholase of catechol to o-quinone and the phenoxazinone of 2-aminophenol to 2-aminophenoxazinone, were also evaluated under mild RT conditions and atmospheric oxygen. The discharge of pharma products such as paracetamol (PCT) into water has resulted in great harm to humans and emerged as a potential threat requiring a solution. Therefore, the development of smart and efficient materials as photocatalysts has become imperative in order to treat PCT in wastewater. The present study demonstrates the synthesis of pristine NiWO4 and CoWO4 and a heterojunction nanostructure, NiWO4/CoWO4, through a hydrothermal process using a Teflon-lined autoclave at 180 °C for 18 h. Various spectroscopic techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive X-ray (SEM–EDX), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were utilised to determine the lattice, structural, optical, and morphological information of the solid nanomaterial upon heterojunction formation. The synthesised nanomaterials were exploited for the photocatalytic degradation of paracetamol (PCT) under UV light irradiation. Photocatalytic experiments were performed for the optimization of various reaction parameters, such as irradiation time, pH, catalyst dose, and PCT concentration at room temperature. The results obtained suggested that the heterojunction nanocomposite NiWO4/CoWO4 exhibited enhanced photocatalytic efficiency (97.42%) with PCT as compared to its precursors—96.50% for NiWO4 and 97.12% for CoWO4. The photocatalytic data were best defined by the Langmuir–Hinshelwood (L–H) model of pseudo-first-order kinetics, with apparent rates constant at 0.015 min−1 for NiWO4, 0.017 min−1 for CoWO4, and 0.019 min−1 for NiWO4/CoWO4 NC. It was observed that NiWO4/CoWO4 NC with enhanced optical properties effected a higher rate of PCT degradation due to the improved bandgap energy upon heterojunction formation. The scavenger test revealed the involvement of •OH radicals as reactive oxidant species (ROS) in PCT degradation. In this work, the widely-abundant, cheap, wild plant Lavandula pubescens Decne was evaluated as an adsorbent for removing Pb(II) ions from wastewater. The chemical composition of the plant was partially isolated and characterized by the corresponding techniques, including gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, gas liquid chromatography, and FTIR spectroscopy. The adsorption capacity of the dried plant material for Pb(II) ions increased with increasing contact time, initial ion concentration, and temperature, while it decreased with increasing adsorbent dosage. The optimum condition for Pb(II) adsorption was determined as 550 mg/L initial metal concentration, pH ≤ 7, and 90 min of contact. The best fit for Pb(II) adsorption isotherms was the linear form of the Freundlich model; however, the maximum capacity indicated by Langmuir was 91.32 mg/g. The experimental data fit better the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2 = 0.969), suggesting chemisorption process. Metal organic frameworks are considered as an efficient and promised adsorbent for separation of several ions and compounds from solutions due to its unique geometric structure. Herein, copper‐benzyl tricarboxylic acid based metal organic frameworks have showed a high efficiency in enrichment and microextraction of malathion from food and water samples. The microextraction procedures were followed by determination of malathion by ultra high performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry. The optimum recoveries for malathion were obtained at pH 6, and with using 2 mL of ethyl acetate as the eluent. The microextraction procedures showed a detection limits and the quantification limits of 4.0 and 10.0 µg/L, respectively. The intra‐ and interday precision showed a relative standard deviation% less than 10. The feasibility of the proposed procedure was determined by evaluating the addition/recovery studies of malathion from the real samples. The absolute recovery% was ≥92%. Furthermore, some ions were tested as cointerfering ions, and the recovery% was 93‐100%. These results confirm that the developed microextraction procedure based on copper‐benzyl tricarboxylic acid based metal organic frameworks as extractor for dispersive solid phase microextraction is matrix‐independent, and can be applied for various real samples including different matrix or various malathion content. Using different amount of potato peels, ZnO photocatalysts (ZO-PC) have been prepared by facile combustion process followed by the calcination at 500 °C for 10 min, and their obtained nanomaterials have been investigated through various techniques like powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) combined with EDX, transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and UV–Vis spectroscopy in DRS mode. Moreover, the spectrophotometry technique has been employed to investigate the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under UV irradiation light (λ < 400 nm) by fabricated ZO-PCs. Among them, the lowest peel-containing sample was exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity as compared to others also optical bandgap energy (Eg) was increased with increasing of peels from 3.39 to 3.49 eV. In this work, metal organic frameworks (A100 Al-based MOFs) were used in dispersive solid-phase microextraction (DSPME) for the isolation and preconcentration of the carbaryl from vegetable, fruit and water samples. The A100 Al-based MOFs showed excellent behavior for the adsorption of carbaryl from a water–ethanol solution; additionally, carbaryl was easily desorbed with ethyl acetate for detection by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-TMS). The analytical process of DSPME together with UPLC-TMS provides the accurate monitoring of trace carbaryl residues. The results show that the optimal recovery% of carbaryl was obtained at a sample apparent pH of 5, with the application of 1 mL of ethyl acetate to elute the carbaryl from the A100 Al-based MOFs. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.01 mg.L−1 and 0.03 mg.L−1, respectively. The RSD% was 0.8–1.9, and the preconcentration factor was 45. The contamination of water surfaces by mercury is a dangerous environmental problem due to its toxicity, which leads kidney damage. Activated carbon from mixed recyclable waste modified by phosphonium-based ionic liquid (IL-ACMRW) was therefore prepared and evaluated for Hg(II) remediation. The activated carbon used in this study was prepared from mixed waste, including cardboard, papers and palm wastes as cheap raw materials. The mixed Recyclable Waste Activated Carbon was combined with trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium Bis2,4,4-(trimethylpentyl)phosphinate (Cyphos® IL 104) ionic liquid to form an adsorbent with organic-inorganic content, in order to improve the Hg(II) uptake from aqueous solutions. FTIR confirms the presence of P, C=O and OH after this modification. The adsorption process was investigated and the evaluated results showed that the capacity was 124 mg/g at pH 4, with a contact time of 90 min, an adsorbent dose of 0.4 g/L, and a Hg(II) concentration of 50 mg/L. This Hg(II) adsorption capacity is superior than that reported in the literature for modified multiwall carbon nanotubes. The adsorption of Hg(II) on the modified activated carbon from mixed recyclable waste was found to follow the pseudo second-order kinetics model. Isotherms of adsorption were analyzed via Freundlich and Langmuir models. The results indicated that Freundlich is the best model to describe the process, suggesting multilayer adsorption.
