In response to the increasing traffic noise problem, we designed a combined acoustic metamaterial (CAM) based on the multi-channel Fano resonance principle. By utilizing the Fano resonance coupling between the acoustic spiral structure and the hollow structure, efficient sound insulation under effective ventilation conditions is achieved. Simulation results of acoustic transmission loss show that the acoustic transmission loss of CAM is more than 13 dB in the frequency band of 520–989 Hz. The broadband sound insulation characteristic can block the oblique angle incident sound waves from different angles. Simulation results of the elastic strain energy and acoustic pressure field validate the sound insulation mechanism of the Fano resonance of the combined acoustic metamaterial. The experimental results in the impedance tube generally agree with the simulation results. To explore the possibility of wider engineering applications of CAM, we propose a combined CAM and CAM0.7 structure. Streptococcus suis is an important zoonotic pathogen, causing cytokine storms of Streptococcal toxic shock‐like syndrome amongst humans after a wound infection into the bloodstream. To overcome the challenges of fever and leukocyte recruitment, invasive S. suis must deploy multiple stress responses forming a network and utilize proteases to degrade short‐lived regulatory and misfolded proteins induced by adverse stresses, thereby adapting and evading host immune responses. In this study, we found that S. suis encodes multiple ATP‐dependent proteases, including single‐chain FtsH and double‐subunit Clp protease complexes ClpAP, ClpBP, ClpCP, and ClpXP, which were activated as the fever of infected mice in vivo. The expression of genes ftsH, clpA/B/C, and clpP, but not clpX, were significantly upregulated in S. suis in response to heat stress, while were not changed notably under the treatments with several other stresses, including oxidative, acidic, and cold stimulation. FtsH and ClpP were required for S. suis survival within host blood under heat stress in vitro and in vivo. Deletion of ftsH or clpP attenuated the tolerance of S. suis to heat, oxidative and acidic stresses, and significantly impaired the bacterial survival within macrophages. Further analysis identified that repressor CtsR directly binds and controls the clpA/B/C and clpP operons and is relieved by heat stress. In summary, the deployments of multiple ATP‐dependent proteases form a flexible heat stress response network that appears to allow S. suis to fine‐tune the degradation or refolding of the misfolded proteins to maintain cellular homeostasis and optimal survival during infection. Studies on spontaneous rupture mechanisms are limited because using existing experimental apparatuses is difficult to accurately observe parameters related to the rupture (e.g., slip history and frictional properties of fault). This study proposes multiple diagnostic systems combined with a biaxial loading device to study the rupture mechanism. Two isosceles right triangle PMMA plates are held together to form a fault model. The spontaneous rupture is achieved under various friction angles through different combinations of the x-axis and y-axis loading forces. A digital image correlation (DIC) method is systematically used to measure displacement and stress fields along the fault during rupture, thus accurately quantifying rupture velocity and stress distribution. Accelerometers are used to measure seismic waves. In this experiment, the supershear rupture can be detected, and the potential energy and the energy consumed are discussed. Nighttime dehazing is a challenging ill-posed problem due to the severe haze pollution and color attenuation. Since available daytime dehazing approaches cannot be consistently adapted to the nighttime case, this paper specifically designs representation learning to enhance an end-to-end nighttime dehazing network. To explore attentive and problem-driven representations, we propose to realize effective learning via knowledge distillation together with neural architecture search (NAS), which are implemented via two parallel branches of networks, namely, representation learning network (RLN) and guided dehazing network (GDN). The challenges in nighttime dehazing come from distilling the clear elements from the hazy representation and the restoration of real color from ambient illumination or low light condition. To this end, we introduce the subnetwork of RLN to learn the feature of the clear elements of the ground truth. We specifically introduce a NAS for exploring the color subspace of the latent embedding space of both RLN and GDN. With the guidance from the representation learned by RLN, GDN could well learn the clear elements from the hazy image and recover the real color of it effectively. The occurrence and progression of skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM) is strongly associated with immune cells infiltrating the tumor microenvironment (TME). This study examined the expression, prognosis, and immune relevance of SIGLEC9 in SKCM using multiple online databases. Analysis of the GEPIA2 and Ualcan databases revealed that SIGLEC9 is highly expressed in SKCM, and patients with high SIGLEC9 expression had improved overall survival (OS). Furthermore, the mutation rate of SIGLEC9 in SKCM patients was found to be 5.41%, the highest observed. The expression of SIGLEC9 was positively correlated with macrophages, neutrophils and B cells, CD8 + T cells, CD4 + T cells, and dendritic cells, according to TIMER. Based on TCGA-SKCM data, we verified that high SIGLEC9 expression is closely associated with a good prognosis for SKCM patients, including overall survival, progression-free interval, and disease-specific survival. This positive prognosis could be due to the infiltration of immune cells into the TME. Additionally, our analysis of single-cell transcriptome data revealed that SIGLEC9 not only played a role in the normal skin immune microenvironment, but is also highly expressed in immune cell subpopulations of SKCM patients, regulating the immune response to tumors. Low or insufficient testosterone levels caused by caponization promote fat deposition in animals. However, the molecular mechanism of fat deposition in caponized animals remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the metabolomics and transcriptomic profiles of adipose tissues and study the effect of testosterone and leptin on the proliferation of adipocytes. We observed a significant enlargement in the areas of adipocytes in the abdominal fat tissues in capon, as well as increased luciferase activity of the serum leptin and a sharp decrease in the serum testosterone in caponized gander. Metabolomics and transcriptomic results revealed differentially expressed genes and differentially expressed metabolites with enhanced PARR signal pathway. The mRNA levels of peroxisome proliferators-activated receptor γ, fatty acid synthase, and suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 in goose primary pre-adipocytes were significantly upregulated with high leptin treatment and decreased significantly with increasing testosterone dose. Hence, reduced testosterone and increased leptin levels after caponization possibly promoted adipocytes proliferation and abdominal fat deposition by altering the expression of PPAR pathway related genes in caponized ganders. PLCPs (papain-like cysteine proteases) are one of the most abundant groups of cysteine proteases and play vital roles in multiple processes. The pepper (Capsicum annuum) is an important Solanaceae vegetable crop; its commercial hybrid seeds are widely used in production. Male sterility is a valuable trait for hybrid seed production. However, the function of PLCPs and the underlying mechanisms of male sterility in peppers remain unclear. In this study, we comprehensively identified the PLCP gene family in peppers, identifying 31 CaPLCPs. A phylogenetic analysis classified 31 members into eight clades. These CaPLCPs were unevenly distributed across eight chromosomes, and five segmental duplicated pairs were observed. The promoter cis-acting element analysis indicated that CaPLCP promoters contained abundant hormone-responsive and stress-responsive cis-elements, suggesting that CaPLCPs may play important roles in responding to abiotic stress, such as drought and low temperatures, as well as in plant immunity. The qRT-PCR analysis demonstrated that the expression levels of CaPLCP1, CaPLCP5, CaPLCP11, CaPLCP12, CaPLCP13, CaPLCP17, CaPLCP19, and CaPLCP21 were significantly reduced in the flowers of MS (male sterile pepper) at least at one stage, indicating their potential roles as regulatory factors in pepper male sterility. Pulse forming lines (PFL) are widely applied in high-power pulsed power generators due to their high energy density and great ability with square waveform modulation. However, the three-cylinder coaxial Blumlein line (tPFL), a commonly used PFL structure, has low energy efficiency due to the difference in impedance of the outer and inner lines. In order to increase the outer line impedance and improve the output waveform of the PFL, a racetrack Blumlein pulse forming line (r-B PFL), formed by two inner cylinders, two middle cylinders, and one outer cylinder that resembles a runway shape, is proposed in this paper. The glycerin energy storage technology and the spiral line technology were applied in the PFL. Moreover, the r-B PFL was tested experimentally after its construction, yielding a satisfactory result. The PFL structure in which multiple middle cylinders share the same outer cylinder achieves a higher outer line impedance, leading to a high energy efficiency of the PFL, which contributes to the PFL development trend toward compactness and miniaturization. Benefiting from the structural specificity and programmability, the bioinspired triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMSs) bring excellent physicochemical properties that are distinct from conventional topologies. Especially with the rapid development of additive manufacturing and high-performance computing capacities, function-oriented design and synthesis of smart TPMS materials or devices have become feasible. Therefore, understanding the flow characterizations induced by TPMS foams is of remarkable importance to the successful design and practical operation. However, the in-depth studies and theoretical guidance on the relationship between structure and flow characterizations of TPMS foams are still limited. In this study, an Eulerian and Lagrangian coupled model is developed to investigate the internal flow behaviors and flow regime transition mechanism from creeping to inertial flow in four representative TPMS foams. The simulation accuracy is then validated by a high-resolution pore-scale flow field observation. Results show that the flow morphology and pressure drop characteristics are highly influenced by TPMS geometry and Re. Among which, Schwarz Diamond (D), Schoen Gyroid (G), and Fischer-Koch S (S) foams are more susceptible to radial flow disturbance, while Schoen inverted Weissenberg periodic foam to axial flow disturbance. In addition, higher porosities delay the transition to transitional regime of the flow. This work establishes firm theoretical and methodological foundations for the customization and intelligent development of bioinspired TPMS foam materials in broad fluidic applications. Rapid urbanization leads to fragmentation and reduced connectivity of urban landscapes, endangering regional biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Constructing a red, green, and blue spatial ecological network is an effective way to alleviate ecological pressure and promote economic development. Using circuit theory, hydrological analysis, and suitability analysis, this study constructs a composite ecological network under urban–rural integration. The results show the following: (1) A total of 22 ecological corridors with a length of 349.20 km, 22 ecological pinch points, and 22 ecological barrier points are identified in the municipal area, mainly distributed in Haidong Town. There are 504 stormwater corridors, which are more evenly distributed, 502 riverfront landscape corridors, and 130 slow-moving landscape corridors. (2) A total of 20 ecological corridors, with a length of 99.23 km, 19 ecological pinch points, and 25 barrier points were identified in the main urban area, and most of them are located in the ecological corridors. There are 71 stormwater corridors, mainly located in the northwestern forest area, 71 riverfront recreation corridors, and 50 slow-moving recreation corridors. (3) Two scales of superimposed ecological source area of 3.65 km2, and eleven ecological corridors, are primarily distributed between Erhai Lake and Xiaguan Town. There are two superimposed stormwater corridors and fourteen recreational corridors. The eco-nodes are mostly distributed in the east and south of Dali City; wetland nodes are mainly situated in the eighteen streams of Cangshan Mountain; and landscape nodes are more balanced in spatial distribution. This article discusses the dysbiosis of the oral-gut microbiome in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and its implications for noninvasive diagnosis. PCOS is a common reproductive endocrine disorder that affects women of reproductive age. The study analyzed the oral and gut microbiome of PCOS patients and healthy controls and identified differences in microbial composition and functionality between the two groups. The findings suggest that the oral and gut microbiota may serve as potential predictive markers for PCOS diagnosis, and combining microbial indicators with clinical indices can optimize the accuracy of PCOS discrimination. Ultrasonic scalpel design for minimally invasive surgical procedures is mainly focused on optimizing cutting performance. However, an important issue is the low fatigue life of traditional ultrasonic scalpels, which affects their long-term reliability and effectiveness and creates hidden dangers for surgery. In this study, a multi-objective optimal design for the cutting performance and fatigue life of ultrasonic scalpels was proposed using finite element analysis and fatigue simulation. The optimal design parameters of resonance frequency and amplitude were determined. By setting the transition fillet and keeping the gain structure away from the node position to enable the scalpel to have a high service life with excellent cutting performance. The frequency modulation method of setting the vibration node bosses at the node position and setting the vibration antinode grooves at the antinode position was compared. Then, the mechanism of the influence of various design elements, such as tip, shank, node position, and antinode position, on the resonance frequency, amplitude, and fatigue life of the ultrasonic scalpel was analyzed, and the optimal design principles of the ultrasonic scalpel were obtained. The proposed ultrasonic scalpel design was confirmed by simulations, impedance measurements, and liver tissue cutting experiments, demonstrating its feasibility and enhanced performance. This research introduces innovative design strategies to improve the fatigue life and performance of ultrasonic scalpels to address an important issue in minimally invasive surgery. Background: Inflammatory cytokines play a major role in the pathogenesis of myocardial infarction (MI). Although information on the importance of interleukin 13 (IL13) in human MI is limited, it has been well documented in the mouse model. Genetic variation in the IL13 gene has been associated with the structure and expression of the IL13. In the present study, we hypothesized that IL13 common genetic variants would be associated with a predisposition to the development of MI. Materials and methods: The present study enrolled 305 MI patients and 310 matched healthy controls. Common genetic polymorphisms in the IL13 gene (rs20541, rs1881457, and rs1800925) were genotyped using the TaqMan SNP genotyping method. Plasma levels of IL13 were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: In MI patients, minor alleles of the IL13 rs1881457 and rs1800925 polymorphisms were less common than in healthy controls [rs1881457: AC (P = 0.004, OR = 0.61), C (P = 0.001, OR = 0.66); rs1800925: CT (P = 0.006, OR = 0.59)]. Further haplotype analysis of three studied SNPs revealed a significant association with predisposition to MI. Interestingly, IL13 rs1881457 and rs1800925 were linked to plasma levels of IL13: the reference genotype had higher levels, heterozygotes were intermediate, and the alternate genotype had the lowest levels. Conclusions: In the Chinese population, IL13 (rs1881457 and rs180092) variants are associated with different plasma IL13 levels and offer protection against MI development. Galactinol synthase (GolS) serves as a pivotal enzyme in the biosynthesis of raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs) and assumes a crucial role in mediating plant responses to environmental stresses. However, a comprehensive exploration of the GolS gene family in the M. truncatula remains lacking. In this study, we identified five GolS genes (MtGolS) from the M. truncatula genome, and an analysis of evolution, domain, tissue expression, as well as their responses to various abiotic stresses and plant hormones was performed on these five genes. Comparative analysis revealed that the gene structure and domains of MtGolSs corresponded with those observed in GolS proteins in rice and Arabidopsis. Notably, the theoretical isoelectric point (pI) of MtGolS3 (8.31) was significantly surpassed that of its counterparts. And a segmental duplication event was found between MtGolS1 and MtGolS5. Furthermore, the expression patterns exhibited distinctive patterns for MtGolS3, characterized by predominant expression in flowers and shoot apical meristems, whereas MtGolS1, 2, 4, and 5 displayed heightened expression levels in seeds. Examination of promoters and expression profiles disclosed the responsiveness of the MtGolS genes to diverse abiotic stresses and phytohormone treatments. Specifically, MtGolS1, 2, 4, and 5 were significantly induced under drought, cold, and salt stress conditions. Additionally, MtGolS1, 3, 4, and 5 were upregulated by auxin (IAA) and gibberellin (GA), but inhibited by abscisic acid (ABA). Additionally, miRNA prediction analysis identified a total of 23 miRNA target sites within the five MtGolS genes, targeted by 17 distinct miRNAs. The proficient handling of diabetic wounds, a rising issue coinciding with the global escalation of diabetes cases, poses significant clinical difficulties. A range of biofunctional dressings have been engineered and produced to expedite the healing process of diabetic wounds. This study proposes a multifunctional hydrogel dressing for diabetic wound healing, which is composed of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) and N1-(4-boronobenzyl)-N3-(4-boronophenyl)-N1, N1, N3, N3-teramethylpropane-1, 3-diaminium (TSPBA), and a dual-drug loaded Gelatin methacryloyl (GM) microgel. The GM microgel is loaded with sodium fusidate (SF) and nanoliposomes (LP) that contain metformin hydrochloride (MH). Notably, adhesive and self-healing properties the hydrogel enhance their therapeutic potential and ease of application. In vitro assessments indicate that SF-infused hydrogel can eliminate more than 98% of bacteria within 24 h and maintain a sustained release over 15 days. Additionally, MH incorporated within the hydrogel has demonstrated effective glucose level regulation for a duration exceeding 15 days. The hydrogel demonstrates a sustained ability to neutralize ROS throughout the entire healing process, predominantly by electron donation and sequestration. This multifunctional hydrogel dressing, which integrated biological functions of efficient bactericidal activity against both MSSA and MRSA strains, blood glucose modulation, and control of active oxygen levels, has successfully promoted the healing of diabetic wounds in rats in 14 days. The hydrogel dressing exhibited significant effectiveness in facilitating the healing process of diabetic wounds, highlighting its considerable promise for clinical translation. Objective: Rare disease Background: Cryptococcosis is an invasive fungal infection caused by Cryptococcus species complex. C. neoformans is one of the pathogenic species within the genus. C. neoformans infections often present as an opportunistic infection in severely immunocompromised individuals. Infection of the pericardium in the setting of liver failure is uncommon. We present a case of cryptococcal pericarditis in a patient with liver failure. Case Report: A 47-year-old man with a past medical history of psoriatic arthritis, and alcohol use disorder presented to the emergency department with a 2-week history of progressively worsening generalized weakness, malaise, and yellowish skin changes. Physical examination revealed scleral icterus, jaundiced skin, and ascites. Initial laboratory workup revealed thrombocytopenia, transaminitis (aspartate transaminase (AST) level of 502 IU/L, alanine transaminase (ALT) level of 82 IU/L), hyperbilirubinemia (total bilirubin of 15.7 mg/dL), International Nationalized Ratio (INR) of 3.6, and lactic acidosis (lactic acid of 11.7 mmol/L). The patient developed encephalopathy and acute hypoxic respiratory failure requiring intubation. A bedside point-of-care cardiac ultrasound, performed following intubation, revealed a pericardial effusion without signs of tamponade. This finding was later confirmed by a formal transthoracic echocardiogram. Percutaneous pericardiocentesis was performed, and the pericardial fluid culture revealed the presence of C. neoformans. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) tests were negative. The patient received antifungal therapy. Due to his poor prognosis, he was transitioned to comfort care and eventually died. Conclusions: This case report describes an unusual presentation of acute liver failure complicated by cryptococcal pericarditis, emphasizing the importance of considering atypical fungal infections in such patients. Cisplatin (DDP) is a prevalent chemotherapeutic agent used in tumor therapy, yet DDP-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) severely limits its clinical application. Antioxidants as reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavengers can circumvent this adverse effect while leading to the decrease of efficacy to tumor. Herein, we report ultrasmall ruthenium nanoparticles (URNPs) as switchable ROS scavengers/generators to alleviate DDP-induced AKI and improve its therapeutic efficacy. In the physiological environment of the kidney, URNPs mimic multi-enzyme activities, such as superoxide dismutase and catalase, effectively protecting the renal cell and tissue by down-regulating the increased ROS level caused by DDP and alleviating AKI. Specifically, URNPs are oxidized by high levels of H2O2 in the tumor microenvironment (TME), resulting in the generation of oxygen vacancies and Ru3+/Ru4+ ions. This unique structure transformation endows URNPs to generate singlet oxygen (1O2) under laser irradiation and hydroxyl radicals (∙OH) through a Fenton-like reaction in tumor cell and tissue. The simultaneous generation of multifarious ROS effectively improves the efficacy of DDP in vitro and in vivo. This TME-responsive ROS scavenger/generator acts as an adjuvant therapeutic agent to minimize side effects and improve the efficacy of chemotherapy drugs, providing a new avenue to chemotherapy and facilitating clinical tumor therapy. Freeze–thaw cycles are frequently overlooked as a pivotal factor contributing to leakage and structural failures in clayey soil-impermeable barriers used in landfills or tailings repositories in regions subject to seasonal freezing. This investigation explores the recovery and residual strength properties of Jilin ball clay undergoing six freeze–thaw cycles, and assesses the pore structure characteristics through a series of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) tests. The results indicate that normal stress has a greater impact on peak recovery strength than dry density and rest periods. Cohesion increases earlier and more significantly during rest periods compared to internal friction angle. Although the pore diameter remains consistent within the micropores during the freeze–thaw cycles, the soil's structural integrity undergoes notable changes. The concluding analysis provides valuable insights for the construction and management of impermeable barriers in landfills or tailings repositories within seasonally frozen areas. The use of solar energy to convert CO2 into solar fuels via photocatalytic reduction represents a promising technology to address climate change. Herein, a unique S-scheme heterojunction of 2D/2D ZnIn2S4 nanosheets@amorphous polymeric carbon nitride (ZIS@APCN) is developed by in situ growth of ZnIn2S4 nanosheets onto two-dimensional porous amorphous polymeric carbon nitride with a finely tuned band structure for photocatalytic reduction of CO2. Benefitting from ultra-thin two-dimensional and rigorous porous structures, notably enhanced CO2 adsorption and increased active surface area are ensured. Moreover, the formed S-scheme heterojunction effectively promotes charge separation. This paper investigates the impact on polluting emissions as a result of manufacturing industries in China offering services as well as products. We merge detailed firm-level statistics covering 2000 to 2011, and use two-way linear fixed effects regression to control for firm and year heterogeneities and a host of control variables. The empirical results show that manufacturing servitization significantly reduces the emission intensity of firms. This effect is achieved by improving the total factor productivity of firms, optimizing the efficiency of energy use, and increasing the share of the highly-skilled labour force. Moreover, the emission reduction effect of manufacturing servitization is more profound in the eastern and central regions, pollution-intensive industries, non-state-owned firms, and processing trade firms. In addition, our extended analysis shows that the emission reduction effects of manufacturing servitization can be strengthened through trade liberalization and cohort study. The major policy implication is that governments should undertake industrial policies that reinforce the positive effects of manufacturing servitization in order to achieve win-win outcomes in manufacturing upgrading and environmental protection. Microbial communities are fundamental components driving critical biogeochemical carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) cycles in groundwater ecosystems. The reduction–oxidation (redox) potential is one important environmental factor influencing the microbial community composition. Here, we developed a bio-trap method using in-situ sediment as a matrix to collect aquifer sediment samples and evaluate the response of microbial composition and C/N/S cycling functions to redox variations created by providing sole O2, joint O2 and H2, and sole H2 to three wells. Illumina sequencing analyses showed that the microbial communities in the bio-trap sediment could respond quickly to redox changes in the wells, demonstrating that this bio-trap method is promising for detecting microbial variation in the aquifer sediment. The microbial metabolic functions related to C, N and S cyclings and organic pollutants degradation were predicted by the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) approach. It was found that the joint O2 and H2 injection produced medium oxidation–reduction potential (ORP −346 and −614 mV) and enhanced more microbial functions than sole O2 or H2, which mainly include oxidative phosphorylation, most carbon source metabolism, various pollutants degradation, and nitrogen and sulfur metabolism. Moreover, the functional genes encoding phenol monooxygenase, dioxygenase, nitrogen fixation, nitrification, aerobic and anaerobic nitrate reductase, nitrite reductase, nitric oxide reductase, and sulfur oxidation increased. Background: Dysfunction or deficiency of corneal epithelium results in vision impairment or blindness in severe cases. The rapid and effective regeneration of corneal epithelial cells relies on the limbal stem cells (LSCs). However, the molecular and functional responses of LSCs and their niche cells to injury remain elusive. Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing was performed on corneal tissues from normal mice and corneal epithelium defect models. Bioinformatics analysis was performed to confirm the distinct characteristics and cell fates of LSCs. Knockdown of Creb5 and OSM treatment experiment were performed to determine their roles of in corneal epithelial wound healing. Results: Our data defined the molecular signatures of LSCs and reconstructed the pseudotime trajectory of corneal epithelial cells. Gene network analyses characterized transcriptional landmarks that potentially regulate LSC dynamics, and identified a transcription factor Creb5, that was expressed in LSCs and significantly upregulated after injury. Loss-of-function experiments revealed that silencing Creb5 delayed the corneal epithelial healing and LSC mobilization. Through cell–cell communication analysis, we identified 609 candidate regeneration-associated ligand-receptor interaction pairs between LSCs and distinct niche cells, and discovered a unique subset of Arg1+ macrophages infiltrated after injury, which were present as the source of Oncostatin M (OSM), an IL-6 family cytokine, that were demonstrated to effectively accelerate the corneal epithelial wound healing. How to efficiently deal with waste acids and bases produced by industry has constantly been a tough question for scientists and engineers. Such acid–base wastewaters are normally treated by mixing to give neutral products (i.e., water and salts) and heat which is hard to collect and reuse. Therefore, there is a need for innovative approaches with high efficiencies and high-value added products. Here, we report an air/metal hydride battery with the function of both treating acid–base wastewaters and gathering the waste heat energy in the form of electricity. Remarkably, the proposed battery could exhibit a high coulombic efficiency of up to ca. 94%, along with an effective reduction in the acidity/alkalinity of waste acids/bases and a decent amount of electricity. The proposed battery device also demonstrates a stable operation in semi-flow mode over a two-day timescale, showcasing its potential scalability and long-term stability. Moreover, life cycle assessment results indicate that electricity retrieved from the treatment process is a key contributor to reducing environmental impacts. The problem of heavy metal pollution in soil has become a global concern and an urgent environmental issue. Heavy metal Pb2+ is not biodegradable in the natural environment but can rapidly accumulate in the food chain. Consequently, handling Pb2+ pollution is challenging. Adsorption plays a crucial role in controlling the migration and transformation of pollutants in soil, reducing the concentration of metal components. This study focuses on two types of sand with different particle gradations to investigate the migration and adsorption of Pb2+. The research employed isothermal static adsorption and dynamic adsorption tests. The results indicate that the penetration time of the sand column decreases significantly with an increase in initial concentration, flow rate and the proportion of sand 2, and the maximum reduction time is more than 80%. The static equilibrium adsorption data fit better with the Langmuir model, while the dynamic penetration test data align more closely with the Thomas model, with R2 values exceeding 0.9. The adsorption experiments reveal that smaller particle sizes in the sand sample lead to more significant adsorption of Pb2+ in water. Consequently, natural sand sites are unable to effectively prevent the pollution of heavy metal Pb2+ without treatment using specialized methods. OVATE family proteins (OFPs) are a class of plant-specific proteins with a conserved OVATE domain that play fundamental roles in fruit development and plant growth. Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is an economically important subtropical fruit tree characterized by a diverse array of fruit shapes and sizes. Despite extensive research on OFPs across various species, there remains a scarcity of information regarding OFPs in mango. Here, we have successfully identified 25 OFP genes (MiOFPs) in mango, each of which exhibits the conserved OVATE domains. The MiOFP gene exhibit a range of 2–6 motifs, with all genes containing both motif 1 and motif 2. Phylogenetic analysis on 97 OFPs (including 18 AtOFPs, 24 SlOFPs, 25 MiOFPs, and 30 OsOFPs) indicated that MiOFPs could be divided into three main clades: clade I, II, and III. Comparative morphological analysis identified significant variations in fruit longitudinal diameter, fruit transverse diameter, and fruit shape index between two distinct shaped mango cultivars ('Hongxiangya' and 'Jingpingmang') at DAP5, DAP7, and DAP10 stages. The subsequent examination of paraffin sections revealed distinct patterns of cell elongation. The majority of MiOFP genes exhibited predominantly expressed in developing organs, specifically flowers and immature fruits, while displaying distinct expression patterns. RNA-Seq analysis revealed significant disparities in the expression levels of several OFP genes, including MiOFP5, MiOFP11, MiOFP21, MiOFP22, MiOFP23, and MiOFP25, between the two mango cultivars. These findings suggest that these six genes may play a crucial role for fruit shape in mango, especially the MiOFP22. Paleoenvironmental conditions significantly influence the distribution patterns and organic matter enrichment of shale. This study investigated the vertical variations of major elements, trace elements, and total organic carbon (TOC) in the Lower Carboniferous marine shale from the Yaziluo Rift Trough, South China, to understand the paleoenvironmental conditions, including redox conditions, terrigenous detrital input, paleoproductivity, and paleo-seawater depth. The Lower Carboniferous formation consists of three sedimentary facies: basin facies, lower slope facies, and upper slope facies. From the basin to the lower slope and then to the upper slope facies, TOC, quartz, and pyrite contents gradually decrease, whereas the carbonate mineral content shows an increasing trend. A continuous decline in paleo-seawater depth transformed a deep-water anoxic environment with high paleoproductivity and low detrital input in the basin facies into a semi-deep-water environment with dysoxic-oxic conditions and moderate detrital influx in the lower slope facies, evolving further into a suboxic environment with high detrital flux in the upper slope facies. The geochemistry results suggest that anoxic conditions and high paleoproductivity were the primary controls on organic matter enrichment in the siliceous shale of the basin facies. In contrast, redox conditions significantly influenced organic matter accumulation in the mixed shale of the lower slope facies, attributed to relatively low paleoproductivity in a more restricted marine setting. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology has significantly enhanced the intelligence of mobile robots, facilitating their widespread utilization in unmanned driving, smart home systems, and various other domains. As the scope, scale, and complexity of robot deployment continue to expand, there arises a heightened demand for enhanced computational power and real-time performance, with path planning emerging as a prominent research focus. In this study, we present an adaptive Lévy flight–rotation slime mold algorithm (LRSMA) for global robot motion planning, which incorporates LRSMA with the cubic Hermite interpolation. Unlike traditional methods, the algorithm eliminates the need for a priori knowledge of appropriate interpolation points. Instead, it autonomously detects the convergence status of LRSMA, dynamically increasing interpolation points to enhance the curvature of the motion curve when it surpasses the predefined threshold. Subsequently, it compares path lengths resulting from two different objective functions to determine the optimal number of interpolation points and the best path. Compared to LRSMA, this algorithm reduced the minimum path length and average processing time by (2.52%, 3.56%) and (38.89%, 62.46%), respectively, along with minimum processing times. Optical remote sensing images exhibit complex characteristics such as high density, multiscale, and multi-angle features, posing significant challenges in the field of salient object detection. This academic exposition introduces an integrated model customized for the precise detection of salient objects in optical remote sensing images, presenting a comprehensive solution. At the core of this model lies a feature aggregation module based on the concept of hybrid attention. This module orchestrates the gradual fusion of multi-layer feature maps, thereby reducing information loss encountered during traversal of the inherent skip connections in the U-shaped architecture. Notably, this framework integrates a dual-channel attention mechanism, cleverly leveraging the spatial contours of salient regions within optical remote sensing images to enhance the efficiency of the proposed module. By implementing a hybrid loss function, the overall approach is further strengthened, facilitating multifaceted supervision during the network training phase, covering considerations at the pixel-level, region-level, and statistical levels. Through a series of comprehensive experiments, the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method are validated, undergoing rigorous evaluation on two widely accessed benchmark datasets, meticulously catering to optical remote sensing scenarios. Aim: To investigate the metabolism and disposition characteristics of HSK7653 in healthy male Chinese participants. Methods: A single oral dose of 80 μCi (25 mg) [14C]HSK7653 capsules was administered to six healthy participants, and blood, plasma, urine and faeces were collected. Quantitative and qualitative analysis was conducted to investigate the pharmacokinetics, blood‐to‐plasma ratio, mass balance and metabolism of HSK7653. Results: The drug was well absorbed and reached a maximum concentration at 1.25 h. The drug‐related components (HSK7653 and its metabolites) were eliminated slowly, with a half‐life (t1/2) of 111 h. Unchanged HSK7653 contributed to more than 97% of the total radioactivity in all plasma samples. The blood‐to‐plasma ratio (0.573‐0.845) indicated that HSK7653 did not tend to distribute into blood cells. At 504 h postdose, up to 95.9% of the dose was excreted, including 79.8% in urine and 16.1% in faeces. Most of the radioactivity (75.5% dose) in excreta was unchanged HSK7653. In addition, nine metabolites were detected in urine and faeces. The most abundant metabolite was M6‐2, a dioxidation product of HSK7653, which accounted for 4.73% and 2.63% of the dose in urine and faeces, respectively. The main metabolic pathways of HSK7653 in vivo included oxidation, pyrrole ring opening and sulphonamide hydrolysation. Conclusion: HSK7653 was well absorbed, slightly metabolized and slowly excreted in humans. Introduction: Ixekizumab, a monoclonal antibody against interleukin-17A, is efficacious and well tolerated for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. However, there are limited data on the real-world safety of ixekizumab in Chinese patient populations. We performed an observational study of ixekizumab for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in routine clinical practice in China. Here we present a further safety analysis of this study. Methods: In this prospective, observational, single-arm, multicenter, post-marketing safety study, adults (≥18 years) with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis receiving ixekizumab were enroled at dermatology departments in hospitals across China and prospectively followed for 12 weeks or until their last dose of ixekizumab. In this analysis, we evaluated adverse events (AEs) of special interest (AESIs) identified using MedDRA® search strategies. We also analyzed AEs and AESIs occurring in greater than ten patients in subgroups by age (< 65/≥ 65 years), sex, body weight (< 60/60 kg to < 80/≥ 80 kg), renal impairment, hepatic impairment, history of tuberculosis, history of HBV infection, recent or active infection, history of allergic reaction/hypersensitivity, and number (0–1/2–4/5–7) of ixekizumab 80 mg injections after baseline until day 105. Results: This analysis included 663/666 patients enrolled in the primary study. At least one AESI was reported in 224 (33.8%) patients and considered related to ixekizumab in 181 (27.3%); the most common were injection site reactions (n = 131, 19.8%), infections (n = 80, 12.1%), and allergic reactions/hypersensitivity events (n = 59, 8.9%). The proportion of patients with ≥ 1 AE was higher for females versus males (99/186, 53.2% versus 184/477, 38.6%, p = 0.0006). The proportion of patients with ≥ 1 AE increased with the number of ixekizumab injections after baseline [61/188 (32.4%) for zero to one injection, 151/338 (44.7%) for two to four injections, and 61/106 (57.5%) for five to seven injections; p = 0.0001]. Conclusions: In this real-world study, ixekizumab was well tolerated in Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, with no difference in safety across most patient subgroups. The dynamic interaction between the vehicle and track is strongly influenced by out-of-round wheels and turnout rail profile geometries, which result in high-magnitude contact forces and abnormal vibrations. This study presents the dynamic response of the tram-turnout interaction due to polygonal wheel wear and analyses its transmission between the wheelsets. A three-dimensional coupled tram-turnout dynamic model was formulated, taking into account the polygonal wear on the front bogie wheelsets. Through numerical simulations, the dynamic characteristics of a tram passing through the turnout switch and crossing panels under the influence of polygonal wear were simulated. Furthermore, the impact of polygonal wear amplitudes and tram speeds on the transmission of dynamic impact forces and vibrations from the front bogie wheelset to the trailer bogie wheels are described. According to the numerical findings, when the flexible wheelset experiences polygonal wear, it can lead to substantial impact forces and vibrations as the tram moves through the turnout switch and crossing zones. Moreover, the transmission of dynamic impact forces and vibrations from the front bogie wheelset to the trailer wheels increases as the wheel wear amplitude and the vehicle speed increase. In this paper, we report on how authors of academic writing in Chinese (AWC) refer to themselves as single authors in the area of language studies. We find that AWC writers rely on the 1st-person plural 我们 women "we," 3rd-person NPs such as 作者/笔者 zuozhe/bizhe "this author," and inanimate NPs such as 本文 benwen "this article/paper" for self-reference. Based on these findings and subsequent surveys of journal style guides and interviews of authors, we propose that (1) these self-referring expressions are a set of conventions; (2) the motivation for these conventions is modesty, a deep-routed value of Chinese society; and (3) these expressions serve as indexicals to the writers' identity of a modest scholar in the particular discursive context: the genre of academic writing. By so doing, our work links language use to social values, to identity studies, as well as to genre analysis, thus contributing to the literature in all these fields of investigation. Background: Diabetic wounds present significant challenges, specifically in terms of bacterial infection and delayed healing. Therefore, it is crucial to address local bacterial issues and promote accelerated wound healing. In this investigation, we utilized electrospinning to fabricate microgel/nanofiber membranes encapsulating MXene-encapsulated microgels and chitosan/gelatin polymers. Results: The film dressing facilitates programmed photothermal therapy (PPT) and mild photothermal therapy (MPTT) under near-infrared (NIR), showcasing swift and extensive antibacterial and biofilm-disrupting capabilities. The PPT effect achieves prompt sterilization within 5 min at 52 °C and disperses mature biofilm within 10 min. Concurrently, by adjusting the NIR power to induce local mild heating (42 °C), the dressing stimulates fibroblast proliferation and migration, significantly enhancing vascularization. Moreover, in vivo experimentation successfully validates the film dressing, underscoring its immense potential in addressing the intricacies of diabetic wounds. Conclusions: The MXene microgel-loaded nanofiber dressing employs temperature-coordinated photothermal therapy, effectively amalgamating the advantageous features of high-temperature sterilization and low-temperature promotion of wound healing. It exhibits rapid, broad-spectrum antibacterial and biofilm-disrupting capabilities, exceptional biocompatibility, and noteworthy effects on promoting cell proliferation and vascularization. Flow boiling heat transfer is a promising technology for thermal management. In this paper, flow boiling heat transfer characteristics in a rectangular vertical flow channel are experimentally and numerically investigated at low flow rate. Visualization results provide guidance for the prediction of flow patterns. The flow boiling correlation at low flow rates is improved with an error of less than 30%. Numerical results reveal vortices enhanced local heat transfer. Absolute vorticity is introduced to quantify the secondary flow. Objective: Elderly patients with hip fractures are at a greater risk of developing postoperative delirium (POD), which significantly impacts their recovery and overall quality of life. Neuroinflammation is a pathogenic mechanism of POD. Taohong Siwu Decoction (THSWD), known for its ability to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, can effectively reduce inflammation in the nervous system. Therefore, the objective of this article is to provide a comprehensive summary of the clinical efficacy of THSWD in the prevention of POD. Additionally, it aims to investigate the underlying mechanism of THSWD in the prevention and treatment of POD using network pharmacology and molecular docking. Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with intertrochanteric fractures between January 2016 and October 2021. The patients were divided into two groups: the control and THSWD group. We performed a comparative analysis of hemoglobin (HB), albumin (ALB), C-reactive protein (CRP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and the blood urea nitrogen to creatinine ratio (BCR) on two different time points: the day before surgery (D0) and the third day after surgery (D3). Furthermore, we examined the incidence and duration of delirium, as well as the Harris Hip Score (HHS) at 3 months and 12 months post-surgery. Network pharmacology was employed to identify the primary targets and mechanisms of THSWD in the management of delirium. Molecular docking was employed to confirm the interaction between active ingredients and COX-2. Inflammatory cytokines, including cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor- (TNF-α), were measured using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The cognitive status of the patients was assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scoring system. Results: Regardless of whether it is in D0 or D3, THSWD treatment can increase HB levels while decreasing BCR. In D3, the THSWD group demonstrated a significant reduction in the expression of CRP and BUN when compared to the control group. However, there were no significant differences in ABL levels, surgery duration, and blood loss between the two groups. Additionally, THSWD treatment requires fewer blood transfusions and can reduce the incidence and duration of POD. The results of the logistic analysis suggest that both CRP levels and BCR independently contribute to the risk of POD. Network pharmacology analysis indicates that THSWD has the potential to prevent and treat POD possibly through inflammatory pathways such as IL-17 signaling pathways and NF-kappa B signaling pathways. Molecular docking validated the interaction between the active ingredient of THSWD and COX-2. Furthermore, THSWD treatment can reduce the levels of COX-2, IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, BUN and CRP in the blood of patients with POD, increase HB levels, and enhance MMSE scores. The expression of COX-2 is positively associated with other inflammatory markers (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, and CRP), and inversely associated with MMSE. The interfacial correlation factor f(m,x), where m refers to the interaction among ice, water and the substrate and x refers to the ratio of the critical nucleation size to the surface topography characteristic size of the substrate, plays a crucial role in the classical theory of heterogeneous ice nucleation as it significantly impacts the energy of nucleation. Generally, a smaller value of f(m,x) indicates a higher propensity for ice nucleation. The degree of structural compatibility between ice and the substrate greatly influences f(m,x), particularly on specific substrates. Several approaches have been proposed to calculate the lattice matching based on this idea, which allows whether a surface is favorable for nucleation to be determined. However, none of these methods adequately correlates the mismatch index with ice growth phenomena. In this paper, we embarked on a new attempt to calculate the mismatch index by combining the lattice parameter and Miller index (LPMI). Droplet freezing experiments have been carried out on α-Al2O3 and silicon surfaces with different Miller indices to verify the rationality of the LPMI method. Furthermore, we validated the LPMI method extensively against other works and further demonstrated its readiness, accuracy and universality for freezing problems. The results consistently show that δd = 2‖di − ds‖/(di + ds) with interplanar spacing more accurately predicts heterogeneous ice nucleation rates across a wide range of substrates than δ1 = (ai − as)/ai with the lattice parameter of ice and the substrate and is more generally applicable than δ2D = (di − di)/di with the distances between two adjacent and congener atoms on the same plane. In this research, with an aim to develop novel pyrazole oxime ether derivatives possessing potential biological activity, thirty-two pyrazole oxime ethers, including a substituted pyridine ring, have been synthesized and structurally identified through 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS. Bioassay data indicated that most of these compounds owned strong insecticidal properties against Mythimna separata, Tetranychus cinnabarinus, Plutella xylostella, and Aphis medicaginis at a dosage of 500 μg/mL, and some title compounds were active towards Nilaparvata lugens at 500 μg/mL. Furthermore, some of the designed compounds had potent insecticidal effects against M. separata, T. cinnabarinus, or A. medicaginis at 100 μg/mL, with the mortalities of compounds 8a, 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f, 8g, 8o, 8s, 8v, 8x, and 8z against A. medicaginis, in particular, all reaching 100%. Even when the dosage was lowered to 20 μg/mL, compound 8s also expressed 50% insecticidal activity against M. separata, and compounds 8a, 8e, 8f, 8o, 8v, and 8x displayed more than 60% inhibition rates against A. medicaginis.
