Background: Thyroidectomy with only limited examination of lymph nodes is considered to pose potential risk for harboring occult nodal disease in patients with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). However, the optimal number of examined lymph nodes (ELNs) in patients with PTC with clinically lateral lymph node metastasis (cN1b) remains unclear. Patients and Methods: Patients with cN1b PTC who underwent therapeutic neck dissection were retrospectively enrolled. A β-binomial distribution was utilized to calculate the likelihood of occult nodal disease as a function of total number of ELNs, and recurrence-free survival analysis was performed using the Kaplan–Meier method. Results: Together 982 patients met the inclusion criteria for this study, of which 853 patients had node-positive disease. The median ELN count was 23 (interquartile range 14–33). Increased ELN counts were associated with a decreased rate of occult nodal disease. The prevalence of nodal metastasis was 84%, while the corrected prevalence was 90%. The estimated probability of false-negative nodal disease was 67% for patients with PTC when only a single node was examined. Survival analysis revealed that populations with higher probability of occult nodal diseases experienced significantly higher recurrence rate. For patient with cN1b PTC, 20 ELNs were required to achieve 95% confidence of having no occult nodal disease. Minimum thresholds of 24, 14, 14, and 15 ELNs were selected for patients with pT1, pT2, pT3, and pT4 diseases, respectively. Conclusions: Our findings robustly conclude that a minimum of 20 ELNs is essential to assess the quality of neck dissection and acquire accurate staging for patients with cN1b PTC. Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is often characterized by indolent behavior, small tumors with slow cell proliferation and a tendency to metastasize to cervical lymph node simultaneously, and the molecular mechanisms underlying that remain poorly understood. In this study, FN1 was the hottest gene of PTC and distinctive expression in PTC cells. FN1 deficiency severely inhibited the p53 signaling pathway, especially cyclin proteins, resulting in increased cell growth but hampered invasion. The alternatively splicing EDB region of FN1 was exclusively expressed in tumors, which impacted integrin β1 (ITGB1) bonding FN1 and its secretion process, resulting in completely distinct roles of two isoforms that FN1 including and skipping EDB domain. The isoform EDB(–)FN1 intracellularly inhibited tumor proliferation by upregulating p21 expression, whereas extracellular EDB(+)FN1 promoted lymph node metastasis via the VEGF signaling pathway in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, the alternative splicing EDB region of FN1 was modulated by p53-targeted protein ZMAT3 which activated cell migration and lymphoangiogenesis. Collectively, combined with p53-induced proteins, FN1 played both anti- and pro-cancer roles owing to EDB domain alternative splicing. FN1 is a potential determinant behind the characteristic behavior of PTC, which may contribute to a deeper understanding of the peculiarity of PTC and provide a promising target for regional lymph node metastasis. In order to address the significant manual costs incurred during template measurements due to prism placement and manual observations, as well as to mitigate the safety hazards associated with working aloft, this paper proposes a vision-based AI-driven continuous template automatic measurement approach. Employing an image total station as the primary sensing device, the method utilizes machine vision algorithms to replace manual observation methods for the automated detection and measurement of continuously rising templates at dam construction sites. This approach enhances the efficiency of dam construction layout and reduces the workload for measurement personnel. The method incorporates concentric circles with numerical markings as collaborative targets to replace prisms, and employs a circle center detection algorithm based on cross ratio invariance for precise identification and positioning of measurement points. Additionally, a DP controller is applied to achieve accurate alignment of the image total station. Experimental measurements were conducted at the TB dam pouring site using the image total station Leica TM50I for automated measurements. The results demonstrate that within a testing distance of 70 to 131 meters, the error between this method and traditional manual measurements is within 5 mm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bumblebees play an important ecological economic role as pollinators in nature and agriculture. For reasons of biosecurity, many countries promote the cultivation of native bumblebee species for crop pollination instead of importing "alien" species. In South China, a few bumblebee species are considered useful in this way, particularly, Bombus atripes, Bombus bicoloratus and Bombus breviceps. However, whether they are suitable for artificial rearing and forming healthy colonies for pollination, remains unknown. In this project, queens from the 3 native species of Guizhou Province were collected and colonies were started under standardized conditions. The colonies were scored based on 19 parameters, including the stage of colony development, number and weight of offspring, and diet consumed. The data revealed that B. breviceps had the best performance, produced more workers and consumed the smallest diet. Next, we performed 16S rDNA sequencing of the bacterial communities found in the guts of offspring workers, and then a correlation analysis between colony performance and gut bacteria was conducted. Here, B. breviceps showed the highest diversity in gut bacterial composition, dominated by the bacteria Gilliamella, Snodgrassella, Enterobacter, and Lactobacillus Firm5. The higher the abundance of Snodgrassella, the better the performance of the colony in the foundation stage, and later Lactobacillus Firm5, Apibacter and Bifidobacterium were beneficial during the stages of rapid growth and colony decline. Although we do not understand all of the interactions yet, these correlations explain why B. breviceps demonstrated better colony performance. ATAD2 (ATPase Family AAA Domain-Containing 2) is highly expressed across varies tumor types, yet its common roles in tumor progression and immune interaction remain unclear. We analyzed the expression and alteration profiles of ATAD2, along with its diagnostic and prognostic role in pan-cancer, utilizing TCGA, GTEx, CPTAC, HPA, and cBioPortal databases. Furthermore, we examined the relationship between ATAD2 and immune infiltration utilizing single-cell sequencing data and TCGA database. Additionally, the expression and oncogenic functions of ATAD2 were verified in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) through MTT, wound-healing, transwell, and flow cytometry assays. Our results revealed significant overexpression of ATAD2 in most cancers, strongly associated with poor prognosis. Amplification was the most frequent alteration type of ATAD2, with its mutation correlating with improved overall survival. ATAD2 was positively correlated with multiple inhibitory immune checkpoints and closely associated with the immunosuppressive microenvironment, particularly in PTC. In vitro experiments demonstrated that ATAD2 promoted the proliferation, migration, and invasion of PTC cells by activating the PI3K-AKT pathway and modulating the G1/S cell cycle checkpoint. Collectively, ATAD2 holds promise as a biomarker for pan-cancer diagnosis and prognosis, as well as a predictor of immunotherapeutic responsiveness and a therapeutic target to enhance the efficacy of existing anti-tumor immune therapies. Purpose: Although the potential association between autoimmune thyroiditis and papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) has been acknowledged, whether the clinicopathological features of PTC will be affected by thyroid autoantibodies remains unknown. Patients and methods: We conducted a case-control study to investigate the association of thyroid autoantibodies with clinicopathological characteristics of PTC in 15,305 patients (including 11,465 females and 3,840 males) from 3 medical centers in the central province of China. Logistic regression and restricted cubic spline models were performed to analyze the association of thyroid autoantibodies with clinicopathological features of PTC. Results: In total, out of the 15,305 patients enrolled in this study, 10,087 (65.9%) had negative thyroid autoantibodies, while 5,218(34.1%) tested positive thyroid autoantibodies. Among these individuals, 1,530(10.0%) showed positivity for TPOAb only, 1,247(8.2%) for TGAb only and a further 2,441(15.9%) exhibited dual positivity for both TPOAb and TGAb combined. Thyroid autoantibodies level demonstrated significant correlations with certain aggressive features in PTC. Specifically, TGAb level displayed a direct correlation to an increased likelihood of multifocality, bilateral tumor, extrathyroidal extension, lymph node metastasis, as well as more than five affected lymph nodes. However, TPOAb level exhibited an inverse association with the risk associated with extrathyroidal extension, lymph node metastasis, and more than five affected lymph nodes. Conclusion: Elevated level of TGAb were positively correlated with the risk of aggressive features in PTC, while high level of TPOAb were inversely associated with the risk of extrathyroidal extension and lymph node metastasis. Nephron loop-vessel countercurrent arrangement in the medulla provides the structural basis for the formation of concentrated urine. To date, the morphogenesis of it and relevant water and solutes transportation has not been fully elucidated. In this study, with immunohistochemistry for aquaporins (AQP) and Na-K-2Cl co-transporter (NKCC2), as well as 3D visualization, we noticed in embryonic day 14.5 kidneys that the countercurrent arrangement of two pairs of loop-vessel was established as soon as the loop and vessel both extended into the medulla. One pair happened between descending limb and ascending vasa recta, the other occurred between thick ascending limb and descending vasa recta. Meanwhile, the immunohistochemical results showed that the limb and vessel expressing AQP-1 such as descending thick and thin limb and descending vasa recta was always accompanied with AQP-1 negative ascending vasa recta or capillaries and thick ascending limb, respectively. Moreover, the thick ascending limb expressing NKCC2 closely contacted with descending vasa recta without expressing NKCC2. As kidney developed, an increasing number of loop-vessels in countercurrent arrangement extended into the interstitium of the medulla. In addition, we observed that the AQP-2 positive ureteric bud and their branches were separated from those pairs of tubule-vessels by a relatively large and thin-walled veins or capillaries. Thus, the present study reveals that the loop-vessel countercurrent arrangement is formed at the early stage of nephrogenesis, which facilitates the efficient transportation of water and electrolytes to maintain the medullary osmolality and to form a concentrated urine. Summary: Sterols have long been associated with diverse fields, such as cancer treatment, drug development, and plant growth; however, their underlying mechanisms and functions remain enigmatic. Here, we unveil a critical role played by a GmNF‐YC9‐mediated CCAAT‐box transcription complex in modulating the steroid metabolism pathway within soybeans. Specifically, this complex directly activates squalene monooxygenase (GmSQE1), which is a rate‐limiting enzyme in steroid synthesis. Our findings demonstrate that overexpression of either GmNF‐YC9 or GmSQE1 significantly enhances soybean stress tolerance, while the inhibition of SQE weakens this tolerance. Field experiments conducted over two seasons further reveal increased yields per plant in both GmNF‐YC9 and GmSQE1 overexpressing plants under drought stress conditions. This enhanced stress tolerance is attributed to the reduction of abiotic stress‐induced cell oxidative damage. Transcriptome and metabolome analyses shed light on the upregulation of multiple sterol compounds, including fucosterol and soyasaponin II, in GmNF‐YC9 and GmSQE1 overexpressing soybean plants under stress conditions. Intriguingly, the application of soybean steroids, including fucosterol and soyasaponin II, significantly improves drought tolerance in soybean, wheat, foxtail millet, and maize. These findings underscore the pivotal role of soybean steroids in countering oxidative stress in plants and offer a new research strategy for enhancing crop stress tolerance and quality from gene regulation to chemical intervention. Carrierea leyensis Z.C.Lu & W.B.Xu, a new species of Salicaceae was discovered from limestone areas of Guangxi, China. The morphology of C. leyensis is similar to C. dunniana, but differs by its evergreen nature; shorter petioles, only 3–8 mm long, and tomentose or glabrous when old; elliptic leaf blade with cuneate base; shorter inflorescence (1.8–4.5 cm long); smaller flowers; and smaller capsules (1.7–2.7 cm long, 5–9 mm in diam.). A fuzzy rule generation method which applies Dempster–Shafer theory (DST) to fuzzy inference systems is proposed. The sample data located in the same fuzzy input subspace are regarded as evidences, and all candidate rule consequents constitute the frame of discernment. Dempster's combination rule is employed to fuse evidences to determine the rule consequent, which solves the problem of conflicting rules simultaneously. In addition, a BPA-based approach to optimize constant rule consequent is proposed. Bacterial pore-forming toxins (PFTs) that disrupt host plasma membrane integrity (PMI) significantly contribute to the virulence of various pathogens. However, how host cells protect PMI in response to PFT perforation in vivo remains obscure. Previously, we demonstrated that the HLH-30/TFEB-dependent intrinsic cellular defense (INCED) is elicited by PFT to maintain PMI in Caenorhabditis elegans intestinal epithelium. Yet, the molecular mechanism for the full activation of HLH-30/TFEB by PFT remains elusive. Here, we reveal that PRMT-7 (protein arginine methyltransferase-7) is indispensable to the nuclear transactivation of HLH-30 elicited by PFTs. We demonstrate that PRMT-7 participates in the methylation of HLH-30 on its RAG complex binding domain to facilitate its nuclear localization and activation. Moreover, we showed that PRMT7 is evolutionarily conserved to regulate TFEB cellular localization and repair plasma damage caused by PFTs in human intestinal cells. Together, our observations not only unveil a novel PRMT-7/PRMT7-dependent post-translational regulation of HLH-30/TFEB but also shed insight on the evolutionarily conserved mechanism of the INCED against PFT in metazoans. Search operations performed by adaptive autonomous maritime vehicles have been a topic of considerable interest for many years. Such operations require carefully scheduled coordination of multiple vehicles performing search tasks across the region of interest. Due to the inherent uncertainty of the maritime environment, however, an initially planned search schedule may not be maintained if the vehicles have significant capability to adapt their tasks to match the environment they detect in real time. We propose a multi-vehicle adaptive algorithm for dynamic evaluation and elastic re-planning of variable-length tasks commonly found in the maritime environments. In adaptive evaluation and re-planning problems, a set of tasks are initially planned for execution by adaptive, autonomous search vehicles. Tasks are allocated to search vehicles under a pre-defined schedule based on prior knowledge and desired outcome. Because of the vehicles’ autonomy and reactivity to in situ conditions such as environment or target pose, the precise duration and actions required by each task are unknown a priori. We develop a hidden Markov model (HMM) for propagating task estimates, coupled with a quadratic-programming-based elastic re-scheduler. The result is an integrated estimate-and-schedule adaptation scheme that quickly and efficiently re-plans the vehicles’ schedules based on in situ observations. Objective: Dual‐plate fixation was thought to be the gold standard for treating complicated bicondylar tibial plateau fractures, yet it was found to be hard to accommodate the posterior column in three‐column fractures. Currently, column‐specific fixation is becoming more and more recognized, but no comprehensive investigation has been performed to back it up. Therefore, the objective of this study was to validate the importance of posterior column fixation in the three‐column tibial fractures by a finite element (FE) analysis and clinical study. Methods: In FE analysis, three models were developed: the longitudinal triple‐plate group (LTPG), the oblique triple‐plate group (OTPG), and the dual‐plate group (DPG). Three loading scenarios were simulated. The distribution of the displacement and the equivalent von Mises stress (VMS) in each structure was calculated. The comparative measurements including the maximum posterior column collapse (MPCC), the maximum total displacement of the model (MTD), the maximum VMS of cortical posterior column (MPC‐VMS), and the maximum VMS located on each group of plates and screws (MPS‐VMS). The clinical study evaluated the indicators between the groups with or without the posterior plate, including operation time, blood loss volume, full‐weight bearing period, Hospital for Special Surgery Knee Scoring system (HSS), Rasmussen score, and common postoperative complications. Results: In the FE analysis, the MPCC, the MPC‐VMS, and the MTD were detected in much lower amounts in LTPG and OTPG than in DPG. In comparison with DPG, the LTPG and OTPG had larger MPS‐VMS. In the clinical study, 35 cases were included. In the triple‐plate (14) and dual‐plate (21) groups, the operation took 115.6 min and 100.5 min (p < 0.05), respectively. Blood loss in both groups was 287.0 mL and 206.6 mL (p < 0.05), and the full‐weight bearing period was 14.5 weeks and 16.2 weeks (p < 0.05). At the final follow‐up, the HSS score was 85.0 in the triple‐plate group and 77.5 in the dual‐plate (p < 0.05), the Rasmussen score was 24.1 and 21.6 (p < 0.05), there were two cases with reduction loss (9.5%) in the dual‐plate group and one case of superficial incision infection found in the triple‐plate group. Carex duanensis Z.C.Lu, Y.F.Lu & X.F.Jin, a new species in limestone areas of Guangxi, China, was discovered and described. The morphology showed that C. duanensis is similar to C. calcicola, but differs in having culms central, leaf blades 3–5.5 mm wide, bracts longer than spikes, utricles 4–5 mm long, shorter, and nutlets abruptly contracted into an erect beak at apex. Background: Cortical buttress are important factors for postoperative stable reconstruction of per/inter-trochanteric fractures. The study aimed to measure the remnant axial cortical length (RACL) of the proximal circumference of the femur, and to determine which part of the RACL can be used reliably to postoperatively sustain the head–neck fragment as a cortical support pattern. Methods: Eighty patients with trochanteric hip fractures admitted from January 2015 to January 2016 were included in a retrospective study. Their pre-operative computed tomography (CT) images were used to form 3D-CT reconstructions via Mimics software. After simulated rotation and movement for fracture reduction, the RACL, its three component parts—namely, the remnant anterior cortex (RAC), remnant lateral cortex (RLC), and remnant posterior cortex (RPC) —the γ angle between the anterior and posterior cortex, and the Hsu's lateral wall thickness (LWT) were evaluated. Results: Patients with an A1 fracture (21/80) had a longer RACL (88.8 ± 15.8 mm) than those with an A2 fracture (60.0 ± 11.9 mm; P < 0.01). The RAC, RLC, and RPC of the RACL in A1 fractures were also significantly longer than those in A2 fractures (P < 0.001). However, the most significant difference among the three components of the RACL was in the RPC, which was 27.3 ± 7.8 mm in A1 fractures and 9.2 ± 6.6 mm in A2 fractures. In addition, the coefficient of variation of the RAC was only 20.0%, while that of the RPC was 75.5%. The average γ angle in A1 fractures was 16.2 ± 13.1°, which was significantly smaller than that in A2 fractures, which was 40.3 ± 14.5° (P < 0.001). There was a significant statistical difference in the LWT between A1 and A2 fractures (P < 0.001). There were significant differences in the RACL, RAC, RLC, RPC, γ angle, and LWT among the five subtypes (P < 0.001). Conclusions: The RAC is relatively stable in pertrochanteric fractures. Fracture reduction through a RAC buttress may help to enhance the postoperative stable reconstruction of per/inter-trochanteric fractures and make possible good mechanical support for fracture healing. Acanthopanax senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Harms is a perennial shrub of the Acanthopanax genus in the Araliaceae family and has a high medicinal value. The application of zinc fertilizer can improve the yield and quality of medicinal materials. However, there are limited reports on approaches to increase the content of medicinal components in A. senticosus, hindering the improvement of its medicinal quality. In this study, A. senticosus was treated with 0.1% (LZn) and 0.4% (HZn) zinc sprayed on the leaf surface. The effects of zinc treatment on the medicinal components in the roots of A. senticosus were analyzed by comprehensive metabolomics and transcriptomics analyses. A total of 316 metabolites were detected, with a prevailing occurrence of terpenoids and phenylpropanoids. We identified metabolites related to the medicinal components that were upregulated after Zn treatment, including 43 terpenoids, 19 phenylpropanoids, eight phenols, and three flavonoids. Combining differential gene expression and K-means analysis, we found 95, 65, and 25 upregulated genes related to phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, terpenoid biosynthesis, and flavonoid biosynthesis, respectively. Under different concentrations of Zn treatment, the upregulated metabolite biosynthesis-related genes and differentially expressed transcription factors varied. Pearson correlation network analysis revealed significant correlations among terpenoids, phenylpropanoids, flavonoids biosynthetic genes, and several transcription factors (ERFs, WRKYs, bHLHs, NACs, and MYBs). This study lays the foundation for understanding the metabolic processes in response to varying levels of zinc foliar spray and provides a theoretical basis for enhancing the efficiency of zinc fertilizer utilization in A. senticosus. Background: Ultrasound plays a critical role in the early screening and diagnosis of cancers. Although deep neural networks have been widely investigated in the computer‐aided diagnosis (CAD) of different medical images, diverse ultrasound devices, and image modalities pose challenges for clinical applications, especially in the recognition of thyroid nodules having various shapes and sizes. More generalized and extensible methods need to be developed for the cross‐devices recognition of thyroid nodules. Purpose: In this work, a semi‐supervised graph convolutional deep learning framework is proposed for the domain adaptative recognition of thyroid nodules across several ultrasound devices. A deep classification network, trained on a source domain with a specific device, can be transferred to recognize thyroid nodules on the target domain with other devices, using only few manual annotated ultrasound images. Methods: This study presents a semi‐supervised graph‐convolutional‐network‐based domain adaptation framework, namely Semi‐GCNs‐DA. Based on the ResNet backbone, it is extended in three aspects for domain adaptation, that is, graph convolutional networks (GCNs) for the connection construction between source and target domains, semi‐supervised GCNs for accurate target domain recognition, and pseudo labels for unlabeled target domains. Data were collected from 1498 patients comprising 12 108 images with or without thyroid nodules under three different ultrasound devices. Accuracy, Sensitivity and Specificity were used for the performance evaluation. Results: The proposed method was validated on six groups of data for a single source domain adaptation task, the mean Accuracy was 0.9719 ± 0.0023, 0.9928 ± 0.0022, 0.9353 ± 0.0105, 0.8727 ± 0.0021, 0.7596 ± 0.0045, 0.8482 ± 0.0092, which achieved better performance in comparison with the state‐of‐the‐art. The proposed method was also validated on three groups of multiple source domain adaptation tasks. In particular, when using X60 and HS50 as the source domain data, and H60 as the target domain, it can achieve the Accuracy of 0.8829 ± 0.0079, Sensitivity of 0.9757 ± 0.0001, and Specificity of 0.7894 ± 0.0164. Ablation experiments also demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed modules. Conclusion: The developed Semi‐GCNs‐DA framework can effectively recognize thyroid nodules on different ultrasound devices. Rainfall-induced flash floods are characterized by their rapid onset and small spatial scale. With little lead time for warning, floodwater can accumulate rapidly and its force can damage roads, swamp houses, destroy bridges, and scour out channels. Having data-driven estimates of potential economic losses from flash floods (before they occur) helps authorities make informed decisions about planning and prioritizing mitigation projects. This article provides a probabilistic predictive model to estimate flash flood economic damage at the census tract scale. To simplify model utilization and avoid strong assumptions about property value and replacement costs, the model predicts the total cost of property and infrastructure damages for individual census tracts (expressed in 2019 prices). The model was developed based on a flash flood data set for a 15-year period (2005–2019) in Texas. The data set was assembled by integrating disparate data from multiple platforms. The occurrence of economic damage was found to be a zero-inflated problem. Therefore, we developed a two-part mixed-effect model. The model first estimates the probability that economic damage will occur (zero-inflated part) and then predicts the dollar amount of the economic damage (continuous part). Semiconductor manufacturing has been extensively exploiting machine-learning (ML) to process equipment sensory data (ESD) for near-real time anomaly detection (AD). ESD characteristics are highly diversified and data lengths vary among processing steps and cycles. Cleansing ESD with minimum distortion (CMD) to fit the fixed-length input requirement by ML-based AD is critical to AD effectiveness and is challenging. This paper presents a novel CMD method of four innovations: i) statistical mode-based equalization of step data lengths for the least number of step data length changes, ii) importance indicator value (IIV) of a data sample based on its relative difference with the subsequent sample, and iii) step data segmentation into groups based on samples of significant IIVs and the least-entropy-group-to-cleanse-first rule, and iv) cleansing the least IIV sample(s) in the selected group for step data length equalization. CMD application to ESD demonstrates its characteristics preservation property. Simulation experiments are on an integration of data cleansing with an unsupervised ML-based AD system, STALAD. Comparisons with two benchmark methods over AD scenarios of small-scale drifts and shifts show that CMD not only is superior in facilitating accurate detection by STALAD but also helps detect anomaly much earlier than using the two benchmarks. Although the incidence of thyroid cancer is increasing year by year, most patients, especially those with differentiated thyroid cancer, can usually be cured with surgery, radioactive iodine, and thyroid-stimulating hormone suppression. However, treatment options for patients with poorly differentiated thyroid cancers or radioiodine-refractory thyroid cancer have historically been limited. Altered energy metabolism is one of the hallmarks of cancer and a well-documented feature in thyroid cancer. In a hypoxic environment with extreme nutrient deficiencies resulting from uncontrolled growth, thyroid cancer cells utilize "metabolic reprogramming" to satisfy their energy demand and support malignant behaviors such as metastasis. This review summarizes past and recent advances in our understanding of the reprogramming of glucose metabolism in thyroid cancer cells, which we expect will yield new therapeutic approaches for patients with special pathological types of thyroid cancer by targeting reprogrammed glucose metabolism. Background: Regarding trochanteric hip fractures, one type of posterior coronal fragments was described as the "banana-shaped fragment", while the impact of the banana-shaped fragment on mechanical stability has not been further studied. The current study investigated the association between the banana-shaped fragment and mechanical complications after surgery. Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 273 patients treated by proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) in the full analysis. The age, the sex, the fracture side, the follow-up time, the American Society of Anesthesiologists classification, the operators, the fracture classification, the tip-apex distance, the blade positions, the reduction quality and the bone mineral density were analyzed in relation to mechanical complications, through univariate and multivariate approaches. Results: Mechanical complications happened in 33 patients. The banana-shaped fragment (adjusted odds ratio 5.240, 95% CI 2.172 to 12.641; p < 0.001), the tip-apex distance and the reduction quality showed significant association with mechanical complications in both univariate and multivariate analysis. Moreover, for 118 patients with the banana-shaped fragment, we found that the use of wire cerclage couldn't significantly lower the rates of mechanical complications (p = 0.648). Conclusions: The banana-shaped fragment had a negative impact on mechanical stability of trochanteric hip fractures treated by PFNA. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine whether the integrity of the entry portal of head-neck implant is related to postoperative mechanical complications. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients with pertrochanteric fractures in our hospital treated from January 1, 2018, to September 1, 2021. Based on the integrity of the entry portal for head-neck implants on the femoral lateral wall, patients were divided into two groups, including the ruptured entry portal (REP) group and the intact entry portal (IEP) group. After 4:1 propensity score-matched analyses were used to balance the baseline of the two groups, a total of 55 patients were extracted from the original participants, including 11 patients in the REP group and 44 matched patients in the IEP group. The anterior to posterior cortex width on the mid-level of the lesser trochanter was measured and defined as the residual lateral wall width (RLWW). Results: Compared with the IEP group, the REP group was correlated with postoperative mechanical complications (OR = 12.00, 95% CI 1.837–78.369, P = 0.002) and hip-thigh pain (OR = 26.67, 95% CI 4.98–142.86). RLWW ≤ 18.55 mm indicated a high likelihood (tau-y = 0.583, P = 0.000) of becoming the REP type postoperatively and being more likely to suffer from mechanical complications (OR = 30.67, 95% CI 3.91–240.70, P = 0.000) and hip-thigh pain (OR = 14.64, 95% CI 2.36–90.85, P = 0.001). Conclusion: Rupture of entry portal is a high-risk factor for mechanical complications in intertrochanteric fractures. RLWW ≤ 18.55 mm is a reliable predictor of the postoperative REP type. Flash flooding is considered one of the most lethal natural hazards in the USA as measured by the ratio of fatalities to people affected. However, the occurrence of injuries and fatalities during flash flooding was found to be rare (about 2% occurrence rate) based on our analysis of 6,065 flash flood events that occurred in Texas over a 15-year period (2005 to 2019). This article identifies climatic, environmental, and situational factors that affect the occurrence of fatalities and injuries in flash flood events and provides a predictive model to estimate the likelihood of these occurrences. Due to the highly imbalanced dataset, three forms of logit models were investigated to achieve unbiased estimations of the model coefficients. The rare event logistic regression (Relogit) model was found to be the most suitable model. The model considers ten independent situational, climatic, and environmental variables that could affect human safety in flash flood events. Vehicle-related activities during flash flooding exhibited the greatest effect on the probability of human harm occurrence, followed by the event's time (daytime vs. nighttime), precipitation amount, location with respect to the flash flood alley, median age of structures in the community, low water crossing density, and event duration. Immune modulation is a critical factor in determining the survival of patients with malignancies, including those with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and head and neck SCC (HNSCC). Immune escape or stimulation may be driven by the B7/CD28 family and other checkpoint molecules, forming ligand–receptor complexes with immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. Since the members of B7/CD28 can functionally compensate for or counteract each other, the concomitant disruption of multiple members of B7/CD28 in OSCC or HNSCC pathogenesis remains elusive. Transcriptome analysis was performed on 54 OSCC tumors and 28 paired normal oral tissue samples. Upregulation of CD80, CD86, PD-L1, PD-L2, CD276, VTCN1, and CTLA4 and downregulation of L-ICOS in OSCC relative to the control were noted. Concordance in the expression of CD80, CD86, PD-L1, PD-L2, and L-ICOS with CD28 members was observed across tumors. Lower ICOS expression indicated a worse prognosis in late-stage tumors. Moreover, tumors harboring higher PD-L1/ICOS, PD-L2/ICOS, or CD276/ICOS expression ratios had a worse prognosis. The survival of node-positive patients was further worsened in tumors exhibiting higher ratios between PD-L1, PD-L2, or CD276 and ICOS. Alterations in T cell, macrophage, myeloid dendritic cell, and mast cell populations in tumors relative to controls were found. Decreased memory B cells, CD8+ T cells, and Tregs, together with increased resting NK cells and M0 macrophages, occurred in tumors with a worse prognosis. This study confirmed frequent upregulation and eminent co-disruption of B7/CD28 members in OSCC tumors. The experiment was to study the preparation of forage grade wheat oligopeptide by dual enzymatic method. The peptide content of food grade protease and feed grade protease was compared, and the best compound enzyme was selected. On basis of single factor experiment, orthogonal experiment was used to optimize enzymolysis conditions and determine the content of soluble small peptides. The results showed that the enzyme hydrolysis condition was 12% of gluten, pH value of 7.0, neutral protease and alkaline protease added of 3% each, hydrolysis 5 h. Under these conditions, the content of soluble small peptide was 84.34%. The weight average molecular weight of wheat was 764 Da determined by HPLC, and 87.19% of wheat oligopeptide with molecular weight less than 1 000 Da. The results show that the use of feed-grade protease enzyme can significantly increase the content of wheat oligopeptide and reduce the cost, which has the potential to be used as a functional feed additive. Simple Summary: Bumblebees, as important pollinating insects, play a vital role in maintaining natural and agricultural ecosystems. Its antennae with sensilla can guide in selecting a nectariferous source, locating nest sites, and communicating between individuals. To explore how bumblebees detect and receive chemical signals from nectariferous plant and foraging behavior, the morphology of antennae with sensilla, including antennal length and type, distribution, and number of antennal sensilla were compared in four bumblebee species, Bombus atiapes, Bombus breviceps, Bombus flavescens, and Bombus terrestris through scanning electron microscopy. The characteristics and differences in the total antennal length, and length of scape, pedicel, and flagellum were recorded among three castes and four species. Furthermore, 13 major types of antennal sensilla in total were observed, including trichodea sensilla (TS A-E), placodea sensilla (PS A-B), basiconica sensilla (BaS), coeloconica sensilla (COS A-B), chaetic sensilla (CS A-B), and Böhm sensilla (BS), of which chaetic sensilla B (CS B), only observed in females of B. atripes, was firstly reported in Apidae. The characteristics and differences in the distributions and number of sensilla were also found among three castes and four species. Therefore, this study may help to understand the effects of antennae with sensilla in the coevolution of species and the external environment. The total antennal length of queens are the longest and workers are the shortest in three castes, and in four species the longest of the total antennal length among three castes all are in B. flavescens, which is significantly longer than other species (p < 0.05) and the length of the scape in queens and workers are both longer than males, significantly different in queens (p < 0.05), and not significantly different in workers (p > 0.05), and the length of flagellums in females are not always shorter than males, of which the length of flagellms in queens of B. flavescens are significantly longer than males (p < 0.05), and the length of pedicel and all flagellomeres varies among species and castes. A total of 13 major types of sensilla in total were observed, including trichodea sensilla (TS A-E), placodea sensilla (PS A-B), basiconica sensilla (BaS), coeloconica sensilla (COS A-B), chaetic sensilla (CS A-B), and Böhm sensilla (BS), of which chaetic sensilla B (CS B), only observed in females of B. atripes, was firstly reported in Apidae. Objective: Excessive postoperative sliding is a common complication of intramedullary nails in the treatment of intertrochanteric femur fractures. The aim of this study was to identify risk factors for excessive postoperative sliding in the intertrochanteric fractures treated with an intramedullary nail. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 369 patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures treated with short intramedullary nails between February 2017 and September 2020 was performed. Patients were classified into an excessive sliding group (ES group) and a control group according to the sliding distance after 6 months of follow-up. The proximal medullary filling degree (MFD), fracture reduction patterns in the anteroposterior (AP) view and lateral view, and tip-apex distance (TAD) were evaluated and compared in each group. Results: Thirty-three cases were included in the ES group, and 336 cases were included in the control group. No significant differences in age, sex, fracture side, AO Foundation and Orthopaedic Trauma Association (AO/OTA) classification, Dorr classification, Singh Osteoporosis Index (SOI), American Society of Anesthesiologists classification (ASA), TAD or fracture reduction patterns in the AP view were noted between the two groups. The negative reduction pattern can strongly predict excessive postoperative sliding (OR 4.286, 95% CI 1.637–11.216, P = 0.003). The incidence of excessive postoperative sliding increased by 8.713-fold when the MFD decreased by 10% (OR 8.713, 95% CI 1.925–39.437, P = 0.005). Simple Summary: Bombus breviceps is an important native species of bumblebee in southern China. As a pollinator, it has the potential for domestication and commercial rearing. In this study, in order to identify the nutritional requirements for the egg-laying, hatching, and colony foundation stages, we selected three common local types of pollen, including camellia pollen, oilseed rape pollen, and apricot pollen, as well as mixtures of them, to feed B. breviceps queens to evaluate the reproductive performance, and feasibility of these pollens as a diet and the nutritional requirements. The results showed that the pollen with a higher essential amino acid content had advantages in laying time, the number of eggs laid, larval ejection, and the time of first worker emergence, while the pollen with a higher crude protein content had advantages in the time the colony took to reach ten workers. These results may guide the selection of feed in B. breviceps artificial feeding and help to explore the nutritional requirements in oviposition and the colony stage from the perspective of conventional pollen. Pollen is an important source of nutrition for bumblebees to survive, reproduce, and raise their offspring. To explore the nutritional requirements for the egg laying and hatching of queenright Bombus breviceps colonies, camellia pollen, oilseed rape pollen, apricot pollen, and mixtures of two or three types of pollen in equal proportions were used to feed the queens in this study. The results showed that the camellia pollen with a higher essential amino acid content was superior to the pollen with a lower essential amino acid content in the initial egg-laying time (p < 0.05), egg number (p < 0.05), larval ejection (p < 0.01), time of first worker emergence (p < 0.05), and the average weight of workers in the first batch (p < 0.01). It took less time for colonies under the camellia pollen and camellia–oilseed rape–apricot pollen mix treatments, both with a higher crude protein content, to reach ten workers in the colony (p < 0.01). On the contrary, the queens fed apricot pollen never laid an egg, and larvae fed oilseed rape pollen were all ejected—both pollens with a lower essential amino acid content. The results emphasize that the diet should be rationally allocated to meet the nutritional needs of local bumblebees at various stages when guiding them to lay eggs, hatch, and develop a colony. Objective: To introduce the clinical features of and surgical techniques for a rare type of irreducible pertrochanteric femur fracture pattern with bisection of the lesser trochanter. Methods: From January 2017 to December 2019, 357 patients with per/intertrochanteric femur fractures underwent surgery by closed reduction and internal fixation, of whom 12 patients were identified with rare preoperative imaging features, the lesser trochanter was almost equally bisected. The main fracture pathoanatomy of these cases included: The anterior fracture line passed along the intertrochanteric line to the medial lesser trochanter and bisected it into 2 equal parts from mid-level of the lesser trochanteric protrusion. The proximal part of the lesser trochanter connected to the head-neck fragment and attached by the psoas major tendon, while the distal part of the lesser trochanter connected to the femoral shaft and attached by the tendon of the iliac muscle. These fractures were irreducible by a closed maneuver and were reduced with limited assistance by some devices, and short intramedullary nails were used for fixation of these fractures. Results: All patients were followed up for an average of 14.2 ± 2.1 months. Clinical fracture union occurred at an average of 10.8 ± 1.5 weeks, while radiographic union occurred at an average of 12.7 ± 1.2 weeks. No cut out of the helical blade was visible on radiographs. The average Parker-Palmer score was 6.9 ± 1.3 (range, 5-9) at the last follow up, including 8 cases rated as excellent, 2 as good and 2 as fair. Conclusion: Two-part pertrochanteric femur fractures with bisection of the lesser trochanter have an irreducible fracture pattern with cortical locking and soft tissue incarceration. Soft tissue release and short cephalomedullary nail fixation for this fracture pattern provide stable fixation and allow early exercise. Altered metabolism is a hallmark of aging. The tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA cycle) is an essential metabolic pathway and plays an important role in lifespan regulation. Supplementation of α-ketoglutarate, a metabolite converted by isocitrate dehydrogenase alpha-1 (idha-1) in the TCA cycle, increases lifespan in C. elegans. However, whether idha-1 can regulate lifespan in C. elegans remains unknown. Here, we reported that the expression of idha-1 modulates lifespan and oxidative stress tolerance in C. elegans. Transgenic overexpression of idha-1 extends lifespan, increases the levels of NADPH/NADP+ ratio, and elevates the tolerance to oxidative stress. Conversely, RNAi knockdown of idha-1 exhibits the opposite effects. In addition, the longevity of eat-2 (ad1116) mutant via dietary restriction (DR) was reduced by idha-1 knockdown, indicating that idha-1 may play a role in DR-mediated longevity. Furthermore, idha-1 mediated lifespan may depend on the target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling. Moreover, the phosphorylation levels of S6 kinase (p-S6K) inversely correlate with idha-1 expression, supporting that the idha-1-mediated lifespan regulation may involve the TOR signaling pathway. Together, our data provide new insights into the understanding of idha-1 new function in lifespan regulation probably via DR and TOR signaling and in oxidative stress tolerance in C. elegans. American ginseng extract (AGE) is an efficient and low-toxic adjuvant for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the metabolic mechanisms of AGE against T2DM remain unknown. In this study, a rat model of T2DM was created and administered for 28 days. Their biological (body weight and serum biochemical indicators) and pathological (pancreatic sections stained with HE) information were collected for further pharmacodynamic evaluation. Moreover, an ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based (UHPLC-MS/MS-based) untargeted metabolomics method was used to identify potential biomarkers of serum samples from all rats and related metabolic pathways. The results indicated that body weight, fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting blood insulin (FINS), blood triglyceride concentration (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) and insulin sensitivity index (ISI), and impaired islet cells were significantly improved after the high dose of AGE (H_AGE) and metformin treatment. Metabolomics analysis identified 101 potential biomarkers among which 94 metabolites had an obvious callback. These potential biomarkers were mainly enriched in nine metabolic pathways linked to amino acid metabolism and lipid metabolism. Tryptophan metabolism and glutathione metabolism, as differential metabolic pathways between AGE and metformin for treating T2DM, were further explored. Further analysis of the aforementioned results suggested that the anti-T2DM effect of AGE was closely associated with inflammation, oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction, dyslipidemia, immune response, insulin resistance, insulin secretion, and T2DM-related complications. Thirdly, we took immediate post-operative fluoroscopic images in 3 views to describe the initial reduction quality as baseline to compare and calculate the changes with three-dimensional computed tomography, which was taken about one week after operation for confirming secondary stability after head-neck sliding and impaction. Background: Maintaining anteromedial cortical support is essential for controlling sliding and decreasing postoperative implant-related complications. However, adequate fracture reduction with cortical support in immediate postoperative fluoroscopy is not invariable in postoperative follow-ups. This study was conducted to investigate the risk factors leading to anteromedial cortical support failure in follow up for pertrochanteric femur fractures treated with cephalomedullary nails. Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 159 patients with pertrochanteric fractures (AO/OTA- 31A1 and 31A2) that fixed with cephalomedullary nails. All patients were evaluated as adequate fracture reduction in immediate postoperative fluoroscopy before leaving the operation theater. The patients were separated into two groups based on the condition of the anteromedial cortex in the postoperative 3D CT with full-range observation: those with calcar support maintained in Group 1 and those with calcar support lost in Group 2. Demographic information, fracture classification, TAD (tip-apex distance), Cal-TAD, Parker ratio, NSA (neck-shaft angle), reduction quality score, and calcar fracture gapping were collected and compared. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the risk factors leading to anteromedial cortex change. Results: Anteromedial cortical support failure was noted in 46 cases (29%). There was no significant difference between the two groups concerning age, sex, side injury, TAD, Cal-TAD, Parker ratio, or NSA. There was a significant difference in the AO/OTA fracture classification in univariate analysis but no difference in the multivariable analysis. The reduction quality score, calcar fracture gapping in the AP (anteroposterior), and lateral views were significantly associated with anteromedial cortical support failure in follow-up after cephalomedullary nailing in the multivariable analysis. The threshold value of calcar fracture gapping for the risk of loss was 4.2 mm in the AP and 3.8 mm in the lateral fluoroscopies. Mechanical complications (lateral sliding and varus) were frequently observed in the negative anteromedial cortical support group. Conclusions: Good reduction quality was a protective factor, and larger calcar fracture gapping in the AP and lateral views were risk factors leading to the postoperative loss of anteromedial cortical support. Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 159 patients with pertrochanteric fractures (AO/OTA- 31A1 and 31A2) that fixed with cephalomedullary nails. All patients were evaluated as adequate fracture reduction in immediate postoperative fluoroscopy before leaving the operation theater. The patients were separated into two groups based on the condition of the anteromedial cortex in the postoperative 3D CT with full-range observation: those with calcar support maintained in Group 1 and those with calcar support lost in Group 2. Demographic information, fracture classification, TAD (tip-apex distance), Cal-TAD, Parker ratio, NSA (neck-shaft angle), reduction quality score, and calcar fracture gapping were collected and compared. Logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the risk factors leading to anteromedial cortex change. Results: Anteromedial cortical support failure was noted in 46 cases (29%). There was no significant difference between the two groups concerning age, sex, side injury, TAD, Cal-TAD, Parker ratio, or NSA. There was a significant difference in the AO/OTA fracture classification in univariate analysis but no difference in the multivariable analysis. The reduction quality score, calcar fracture gapping in the AP (anteroposterior), and lateral views were significantly associated with anteromedial cortical support failure in follow-up after cephalomedullary nailing in the multivariable analysis. The threshold value of calcar fracture gapping for the risk of loss was 4.2 mm in the AP and 3.8 mm in the lateral fluoroscopies. Mechanical complications (lateral sliding and varus) were frequently observed in the negative anteromedial cortical support group. Conclusions: Good reduction quality was a protective factor, and larger calcar fracture gapping in the AP and lateral views were risk factors leading to the postoperative loss of anteromedial cortical support. Background: Increasing evidence associates air pollution with thyroid dysfunction, whereas the potential relationship between exposure to ozone (O3) and Thyroid Nodules (TNs) is unclear. Methods: This retrospective cohort study investigated the association between O3 exposure and TNs in Hunan province, enrolling 191,357 Chinese adults who lived in Hunan province from January 2009 to December 2019 and received voluntary medical examinations. Individual exposure levels to O3 from 2010 to 2019 were measured on account of participants' residential addresses at the district level. Associations of O3 exposure with the risk of incidental TNs were assessed by restricted cubic splines and surveyed as odds ratios after adjusting for demographic factors. Results: In total, 81,900 adults were newly diagnosed with TNs during the study period. Age-standardized TNs detection rate in Hunan province increased from 25.9 to 46.3% between 2010 and 2019, with the greatest annual percent change being 8.1 [95% CI, 7.3–8.8]. A similar trend has been found in all tumor sizes, ages, and both sexes. O3 exposure presented a statistically significant dose-dependent positive correlation (greater than 0.036 ppm) with TNs. Similarly, long-term exposure to high levels of O3 (1-year average O3 concentrations exceeding 0.0417 ppm) was found positively associated with increased TSH levels. Conclusions: High-level O3 exposure in the long term was associated with an increase in TSH. Consequently, increased TSH was related to the increased risk of TNs. Many modern imaging sensors must obtain multiple looks or “views” of a target at different orientations to automatically classify it with high confidence. Therefore, when tasked with classifying many targets, a mobile sensor may need to travel a long distance to change its position and orientation relative to every target, resulting in costly and time-consuming operations. This article presents a novel and general approach, referred to as informative multiview planning (IMVP) that simultaneously determines the most informative sequence of views and the shortest path between them. The approach is demonstrated on an underwater multitarget classification problem in which a sidescan sonar installed on an unmanned underwater vehicle must classify all targets in minimum time. Simulation and experimental results show that IMVP can achieve the same, or better, classification performance in half the time of existing multiview path planning methods. Also, by determining the most informative views and the shortest path between them, IMVP significantly improves classification efficiency, classification confidence level, as well as performance robustness. Bone marrow adipose tissue has brown fat characteristics. Several studies have demonstrated that total flavonoids of Epimedium (TFE) could prevent bone loss and reduce the white adiposity in bone marrow induced by ovariectomy (OVX) in rats. However, the effects of TFE on marrow brown fat in OVX rats remain unclear. In this word, we addressed this question expected to provide a new target for preventing and treating osteoporosis. Thirty-six 3-month-old female Sprague-Dawley rats were equally divided into Sham controls, OVX controls, and OVX treated with TFE. Chemical shift coding magnetic resonance was performed to detect marrow fat fraction at the left femur at baseline, 6 and 12 weeks post-OVX. Bone mineral density at the lumbar spine and femur was measured by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry. Serum bone biomarkers by ELISA, trabecular bone microarchitecture at the proximal tibia by micro-CT, quantitative parameters of marrow adipocyte by hematoxylin, and eosin staining were evaluated. The marrow adipocyte gene and protein expressions profile were determined by real-time quantitative PCR and immunostaining in whole tibiae. We found that TFE treatment could decrease bone turnover rate and improved bone mineral density and trabecular microarchitecture in OVX rats. OVX resulted in marrow adipogenesis as evidenced by increased marrow fat fraction, larger marrow adipocyte size, increased adipocyte number and percentage of adipocyte area, marrow white adipocyte gene, and protein expression, including PPARγ2 and FABP4. These pathological changes induced by estrogen deficiency were restored by TFE treatment. TFE also increased brown adipocyte expressions of the transcription factor Ucp1 and Prdm16 in whole tibiae. There was no detectible protein expression of brown adipocyte markers in the proximal tibia. Taken together, TFE regulation of bone marrow adiposity in OVX rats is mediated, at least in part, via maintaining the reciprocity of white and brown adipose tissue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is widely considered the gold standard in molecular diagnostics because of its high accuracy. However, conventional PCR is very time‐consuming (turnaround time 4–6 h), labor‐intensive, and high‐tech instruments dependent. Therefore, developing an ultrafast and sensitive nucleic amplification‐based detection method is still in high demand. Herein, a rapid screening of Escherichia coli using an advanced and sensitive biosensing method known as rotational diffusometry in combination with loop‐mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is reported. Given that the solution viscosity is increased with nucleic acid amplification, the viscosity change can be measured by the functionalized Janus microbeads‐enabled rotational diffusometry. The rotational diffusivity derived from capturing images of microbeads is expressed in terms of blinking signals. Under such conditions, this method can achieve a limit of detection of 42.8 fg μL−1 in 10 min for E. coli with sample volume as low as 2 μL. Additionally, detection of E. coli whole cells extracted from artificially contaminated milk, juice, and water is performed by the developed method and validated with real‐time PCR. Through this biosensing technique, a rapid, reliable, and low sample volume screening tool can be established, improving the shortcomings of the current time‐consuming and labor‐intensive methods. Objective: This study aims to identify reliable prognostic biomarkers for differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) based on glycolysis-related genes (GRGs), and to construct a glycolysis-related gene model for predicting the prognosis of DTC patients. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the transcriptomic profiles and clinical parameters of 838 thyroid cancer patients from 6 public datasets. Single factor Cox proportional risk regression analysis and Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) were applied to screen genes related to prognosis based on 2528 GRGs. Then, an optimal prognostic model was developed as well as evaluated by Kaplan-Meier and ROC curves. In addition, the underlying molecular mechanisms in different risk subgroups were also explored via The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Pan-Cancer study. Results: The glycolysis risk score (GRS) outperformed conventional clinicopathological features for recurrence-free survival prediction. The GRS model identified four candidate genes (ADM, MKI67, CD44 and TYMS), and an accurate predictive model of relapse in DTC patients was established that was highly correlated with prognosis (AUC of 0.767). In vitro assays revealed that high expression of those genes increased DTC cancer cell viability and invasion. Functional enrichment analysis indicated that these signature GRGs are involved in remodelling the tumour microenvironment, which has been demonstrated in pan-cancers. Finally, we generated an integrated decision tree and nomogram based on the GRS model and clinicopathological features to optimize risk stratification (AUC of the composite model was 0.815). Conclusions: The GRG signature-based predictive model may help clinicians provide a prognosis for DTC patients with a high risk of recurrence after surgery and provide further personalized treatment to decrease the chance of relapse.
