Staff in residential children's homes care for young people presenting with complex emotional and relational needs. The Fostering Attachments with Children who are Looked After and Adopted training programme was delivered to residential childcare workers. The article discusses research on how the cardiorespiratory responses of athletes to exercise and physical agility are influenced by over-the-counter vented mouthguard use. Topics explored include the protective benefits of mouthguard use in sports, the experimental physical agility sessions completed by study participants such as the 40-meter dash, vertical jump test, and shuttle run, and the monitoring and evaluation of heart rate and blood lactate of research subjects.
