The objectives of the research. To carry out a comprehensive analysis of the documents of the funds of the state archival institutions of Ukraine in the aspect of the perspective of determining the peculiarities of the implementation of the financial and economic policy by the Russian occupation regime in Eastern Galicia and Northern Bukovyna during the First World War. The research methodology includes an arsenal of general scientific and special methods that are used to perform source studies, as well as interdisciplinary methods that are used in the process of conducting scientific investigations in the field of socio-economic and economic history. The scientific novelty is that for the first time, the informational potential of the documents of the funds of the state archival institutions of Ukraine has been classified and characterized as a source for carrying out scientific research on the financial and economic activities of the Russian occupation regime in the western Ukrainian lands during the Great War. Conclusions. As a result of the analysis of the documents of the funds of state archival institutions of Ukraine (the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine, Kyiv, the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine, Lviv, the State Archive of Lviv Region, the State Archive of Chernivtsi Region, the State Archive of Ternopil Region, State Archive of Ivano-Frankivsk Region) proved that they are sufficiently representative. The completeness in terms of the type and content of the entire array of funds of the specified state archival institutions of Ukraine is expressed by dividing into groups by the names of the funds of those institutions that were authorized to implement the financial and economic policy of the civilian occupation authorities. The documents of the mentioned archival funds are divided into 6 groups according to the content according the aspects of the implementation of the financial and economic policy of the Russian occupation regime: customs policy, tax policy, budget policy, monetary policy, price policy, and economic policy. The purpose of the research paper is to study the available materials of the personal fund of S. Hamchenko, related to archaeological studies in the territory of Podillia from 1909 to 1913, to determine their potential for modern archaeological, historical, and local lore studies. The scientific novelty. For the first time, the content of Serhii Hamchenko's personal archival fund, which is stored in the Scientific Archive of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, is studied thoroughly in detail for the presence of materials related to the archaeological sites of Podillia. The high volume of the available materials, their completeness, and prospects for further study in both archaeological science and local history are analyzed. Conclusions. Serhii Spyrydonovych Hamchenko was undoubtedly an extraordinary person in the world of archaeological science. For five years, he performed colossal research work on the identification and study of archaeological sites associated with different cultures in the territory of Podillia gubernia. To this day, the entire volume of his work has not been introduced into scientific circulation, because a large number of works are preserved in handwritten, and even draft, versions, which require scrupulous and professional work on them. The scholar's materials are represented with finds dating from the Stone Age to the Early Slavic times. The digitalization of Serhii Hamchenko's fund has become an important step in making the achievements of Ukrainian archaeology more accessible to scholars. However, this should be only the first step, because the Scientific Archive of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine contains numerous funds that could help both practical archaeology and researchers of the history of archaeological studies, local historians, and genealogists. Familiarization with the materials of S. Hamchenko's fund shows that it needs careful scientific processing, systematization of materials because even within one folder (writing-book, notebook, collection, etc.), the materials are unsystematized (as evidenced by our description of the diary for 1909). Almost the entire fund is represented by handwritten materials, which, due to the peculiarities of the scholar's handwriting, require deciphering and commentary by experts in archaeology, familiar with the scientific heritage of the scholar and the described objects. We are deeply convinced that only a full-fledged archaeographic publication of the materials of the fund will give the opportunity to maximize their introduction into scientific circulation. The administrative development of the Jeseník district (formerly Frývaldov, Freiwaldau) in the years of 1848-1945 is provided by means of the archive funds of the State District Archive of Jeseník. The development of the district governor's office captures the buildings where it was located and briefly presents the individual governors. The intermediate period of the existence of mixed district offices (1855-1868) in the seats of four judicial districts is devoted to Vidnava. The text contains examples of what can be found in the respective funds. Due to the limited amount of preserved archival items, the development of the district after its incorporation into Nazi Germany (1938-1945) is only indicated. The article deals with the studies of keeping of archival documents in the system of state archives of Ukraine. The state archives package, their quality concerning formation quality of documents of the National Archival Fund of Ukraine, the effectiveness of using information and keeping of cultural values are highlighted in this article. Also the ecological state of keeping of archival documents, technical requirements for buildings, modes of storage of documents, it means temperature-humid, light and sanitary-hygienic, are analyzed.
