The exponential growth of technology in recent decades has led to the emergence of some challenges inherent to this growth. One of these challenges is the enormous amount of data collected by the different sensors in our society, namely in management processes such as Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs). These infrastructures comprise several processes to treat wastewater and discharge clean water in water courses. Therefore, the concentration of pollutants must be below the allowable emissions limits. In this work, anomaly detection models were conceived, tuned and evaluated to monitor essential parameters such as nitrate and ammonia concentrations and pH to improve WWTP management. Four Machine Learning models were considered, particularly Local Outlier Fraction, Isolation Forest, One-Class Support Vector Machines and Long Short-Term Memory-Autoencoders (LSTM-AE), to detect anomalies in the three parameters mentioned. Through the different experiments, it was possible to verify that, in terms of F1-Score, the best candidate model for the three analyzed parameters was LSTM-AE-based, with a value consistently higher than 97%. The prevalence of violence against women and children is concerning, and the initial step is to raise awareness of this issue. Certain forms of detection based techniques are not frequently regarded both socially and culturally permissible. Designing and implementing effective approaches in secondary and supplementary avoidance simultaneously depends on the characterization and assessment. Given the greater incidence of instances and mortalities resulting developing an early detection system is essential. Consequently, violence against women and children is a problem of human health of pandemic proportions. As a result, the focus of this survey is to analyze the existing methods used to identify violence in photos or films. Here, 50 research papers are reviewed and their techniques employed, dataset, evaluation metrics, and publication year are analyzed. The study reviews the potential future research areas by examining the difficulties in identifying violence against women and children in literary works for researchers to overcome in order to produce better results. BACKGROUND: Anaemia is a commonly known blood illness worldwide. Red blood cell (RBC) count or oxygen carrying capability being insufficient are two ways to describe anaemia. This disorder has an impact on the quality of life. If anaemia is detected in the initial stage, appropriate care can be taken to prevent further harm. OBJECTIVE: This study proposes a machine learning approach to identify anaemia from clinical markers, which will help further in clinical practice. METHODS: The models are designed with a dataset of 364 samples and 12 blood test attributes. The developed algorithm is expected to provide decision support to the clinicians based on blood markers. Each model is trained and validated on several performance metrics. RESULTS: The accuracy obtained by the random forest, K nearest neighbour, support vector machine, Naive Bayes, xgboost, and catboost are 97%, 98%, 95%, 95%, 98% and 97% respectively. Four explainers such as Shapley Additive Values (SHAP), QLattice, Eli5 and local interpretable model-agnostic explanations (LIME) are explored for interpreting the model predictions. CONCLUSION: The study provides insights into the potential of machine learning algorithms for classification and may help in the development of automated and accurate diagnostic tools for anaemia. BACKGROUND: Despite the promising effects of robot-assisted gait training (RAGT) on balance and gait in post-stroke rehabilitation, the optimal predictors of fall-related balance and effective RAGT attributes remain unclear in post-stroke patients at a high risk of fall. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to determine the most accurate clinical machine learning (ML) algorithm for predicting fall-related balance factors and identifying RAGT attributes. METHODS: We applied five ML algorithms— logistic regression, random forest, decision tree, support vector machine (SVM), and extreme gradient boosting (XGboost)— to a dataset of 105 post-stroke patients undergoing RAGT. The variables included the Berg Balance Scale score, walking speed, steps, hip and knee active torques, functional ambulation categories, Fugl– Meyer assessment (FMA), the Korean version of the Modified Barthel Index, and fall history. RESULTS: The random forest algorithm excelled (receiver operating characteristic area under the curve; AUC = 0.91) in predicting balance improvement, outperforming the SVM (AUC = 0.76) and XGboost (AUC = 0.71). Key determinants identified were knee active torque, age, step count, number of RAGT sessions, FMA, and hip torque. CONCLUSION: The random forest algorithm was the best prediction model for identifying fall-related balance and RAGT determinants, highlighting the importance of key factors for successful RAGT outcome performance in fall-related balance improvement. BACKGROUND: Breast cancer (BC) is considered the world's most prevalent cancer. Early diagnosis of BC enables patients to receive better care and treatment, hence lowering patient mortality rates. Breast lesion identification and classification are challenging even for experienced radiologists due to the complexity of breast tissue and variations in lesion presentations. OBJECTIVE: This work aims to investigate appropriate features and classification techniques for accurate breast cancer detection in 336 Biglycan biomarker images. METHODS: The Biglycan biomarker images were retrieved from the Mendeley Data website (Repository name: Biglycan breast cancer dataset). Five features were extracted and compared based on shape characteristics (i.e., Harris Points and Minimum Eigenvalue (MinEigen) Points), frequency domain characteristics (i.e., The Two-dimensional Fourier Transform and the Wavelet Transform), and statistical characteristics (i.e., histogram). Six different commonly used classification algorithms were used; i.e., K-nearest neighbours (k-NN), Naïve Bayes (NB), Pseudo-Linear Discriminate Analysis (pl-DA), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree (DT), and Random Forest (RF). RESULTS: The histogram of greyscale images showed the best performance for the k-NN (97.6%), SVM (95.8%), and RF (95.3%) classifiers. Additionally, among the five features, the greyscale histogram feature achieved the best accuracy in all classifiers with a maximum accuracy of 97.6%, while the wavelet feature provided a promising accuracy in most classifiers (up to 94.6%). CONCLUSION: Machine learning demonstrates high accuracy in estimating cancer and such technology can assist doctors in the analysis of routine medical images and biopsy samples to improve early diagnosis and risk stratification. The proliferation of interconnected devices is driving a surge in the demand for wireless spectrum. Meeting the need for wireless channel access for every device, while also ensuring consistent quality of service (QoS), poses significant challenges. This is particularly true for resource-limited heterogeneous devices within Internet of Things (IoT) networks. Cognitive radio (CR) technology addresses the shortcomings of traditional fixed channel allocation policies by enabling unlicensed users to opportunistically access unused spectrum belonging to licensed users. This facilitates timely and reliable transmission of mission-critical data packets. A cognitive radio-enabled IoT (CR-IoT) network is poised to better accommodate the growing demands of diverse applications and services within the smart city framework, spanning areas such as healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, environment, public safety, and pharmaceuticals. To minimize switching delays and ensure energy and spectral efficiency, this study proposes a hybrid intelligent system for efficient channel allocation and packet transmission in CR-IoT networks. Leveraging Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), the system dynamically manages spectrum resources to minimize handoffs while upholding QoS. A Java-based simulation integrates system outputs with interference temperature data to accommodate service demands across 2G–4G spectrums. Evaluation reveals SVM's 98.8% accuracy in detecting spectrum holes and ANFIS's 90.4% accuracy in channel allocation. Background: Late-onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD) is the most common type of dementia, but its pathogenesis remains unclear, and there is a lack of simple and convenient early diagnostic markers to predict the occurrence. Objective: Our study aimed to identify diagnostic candidate genes to predict LOAD by machine learning methods. Methods: Three publicly available datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database containing peripheral blood gene expression data for LOAD, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and controls (CN) were downloaded. Differential expression analysis, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), and support vector machine recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE) were used to identify LOAD diagnostic candidate genes. These candidate genes were then validated in the validation group and clinical samples, and a LOAD prediction model was established. Results: LASSO and SVM-RFE analyses identified 3 mitochondria-related genes (MRGs) as candidate genes, including NDUFA1, NDUFS5, and NDUFB3. In the verification of 3 MRGs, the AUC values showed that NDUFA1, NDUFS5 had better predictability. We also verified the candidate MRGs in MCI groups, the AUC values showed good performance. We then used NDUFA1, NDUFS5 and age to build a LOAD diagnostic model and AUC was 0.723. Results of qRT-PCR experiments with clinical blood samples showed that the three candidate genes were expressed significantly lower in the LOAD and MCI groups when compared to CN. Conclusion: Two mitochondrial-related candidate genes, NDUFA1 and NDUFS5, were identified as diagnostic markers for LOAD and MCI. As is the case for many National Statistics Institutes, the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA's) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has observed dwindling survey response rates, and the requests for more information at finer temporal and spatial scales have led to increased response burdens. Non-survey data are becoming increasingly abundant and accessible. Consequently, NASS is exploring the potential to complete some or all of a survey record using non-survey data, which would reduce respondent burden and potentially lead to increased response rates. In this paper, the focus is on a large set of records associated with potential farms, which are operations with undetermined farm status (farm/non-farm) and are referred to here as operations with unknown status (OUS). Although they usually have some agriculture, most OUS records are eventually classified as non-farms. Those OUS that are classified as farms tend to have higher proportions of producers from under-represented groups compared to other records. Determining the probability that an OUS record is a farm is an important step in the imputation process. The OUS records that responded to the 2017 U.S. Census of Agriculture were used to develop models to predict farm status using multiple data sources. Evaluated models include bootstrap random forest (RF), logistic regression (LR), neural network (NN), and support vector machine (SVM). Although the SVM had the best outcomes for three of the five metrics, the sensitivity for identifying farms was the lowest (13.8%). The NN model had a sensitivity of 80.5%, which was substantially higher than the other models, and its specificity of 45.3% was the lowest of all models. Parallel Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on big data has achieved some results in data mining, but due to the complexity of the data itself and a large amount of noisy data, its execution efficiency and classification accuracy in the big data environment are very low. In order to eliminate noise, a noise reduction method based on Noise Cleaning (NC) strategy was proposed, and redundant training samples in big data environments were deleted; Introduce an improved Artificial Fish Swarm Algorithm (IAFSA) to obtain the final Parallel SVM algorithm using mutual information and artificial fish swarm algorithm based on MapReduce (MIAFSA-PSVM) classification model. The results indicate that when compared to CMI-PSVM, the execution time of MIAFSA-PSVM algorithm is higher on the NDC dataset with the largest data size, The SVM parameter optimization algorithm based on MapReduce and cuckoo search (CSSVM-MR) and the particle swarm optimization based parallel support vector machine ensemble algorithm (PSO-PSVM) decreased by 40.1%, 79.3%, and 51.7%, respectively. In order to achieve the goal of dynamically adjusting daily passenger flow to effectively control the overall efficiency of the transportation system, this study constructs a real-time monitoring and prediction system for subway passenger flow based on front-end voice processing technology and support vector machine models. The study first conducted a railway passenger flow analysis, and then used a support vector machine model to construct a preliminary prediction system. In order to achieve global optimization, the study also introduced particle swarm optimization algorithm to construct an optimization prediction model based on PSO-SVM. The results show that the proposed PSO-SVM method has undergone 48 iterations of training, and the predicted values closely match the actual passenger flow curve. The maximum RE error is 2%, and the overall prediction error is 98%. The decision coefficient of PSO-SVM is 0.998932. This study delves into a novel approach for energy conservation and environmental pollution reduction through modern environmental art design, guided by the ecological civilization concept and powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The data acquisition layer employs diverse sensors to gather equipment status, environmental, and pollution data, transmitting it to the executive controller layer via internal WIFI connectivity. The collected data undergoes meticulous analysis and processing within the data layer before reaching the actuator control layer. Leveraging support vector machines in artificial intelligence, the executive controller layer amalgamates the analyzed equipment and environmental data to devise energy-saving equipment and environmental pollution control schemes. This study proposes a weighted composite approach for grey relational analysis (GRA) that utilizes a numerical weather prediction (NWP) and support vector machine (SVM). The approach is optimized using an improved grey wolf optimization (IGWO) algorithm. Initially, the dimension of NWP data is decreased by t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE), then the weight of sample coefficients is calculated by entropy-weight method (EWM), and the weighted grey relational of data points is calculated for different weather numerical time series data. At the same time, a new weighted composite grey relational degree is formed by combining the weighted cosine similarity of NWP values of the historical day and to be measured day. The SVM's regression power prediction model is constructed by the time series data. To improve the accuracy of the system's predictions, the grey relational time series data is chosen as the input variable for the SVM, and the influence parameters of the ideal SVM are discovered using the IGWO technique. According to the simulated prediction and analysis based on NWP, it can be observed that the proposed method in this study significantly improves the prediction accuracy of the data. Symptom-based disease identification is crucial to the diagnosis of the disease at the early stage. Usage of traditional stacking and blending models i.e., with default values of the models cannot handle the multi-classification data properly. Some of the existing researchers also implemented tuning with the help of a grid search approach but it consumes more time because it checks all the possible combinations. Suppose if the model has n estimators with k values it needs to check (n*k)! elements combination, this makes the learning time high. The proposed model chooses the estimators to train the model with in a considerable amount of time using an advanced tuning technique known as "Bayes-Search" on an ensemble random forest and traditional, support vector machine. The advantage of this model is its capability to store the best evaluation metrics from the previous model and utilise them to store the new model. This model chooses the values of the estimator based on the probability of selection, which reduces the elements in search space i.e., (< (n-k)!). The proposed model defines the objective function with a minimum error rate and predicts the error rate with the selected estimators for different distributions. The model depending on the predicted value decides whether to store the value or to return the value to the optimizer. The Bayes search optimization has achieved +9.21% accuracy than the grid search approach. Against the backdrop of increasing global demand for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting the use of energy-saving and environmentally friendly products has become a crucial aspect of low-carbon economic development. Customer satisfaction plays a vital role in the promotion of these products. To address the challenges of dealing with big data in the conventional customer satisfaction analysis tool, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), a machine learning-based method is proposed to improve IPA. Firstly, the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model is used to capture users' opinions on different product topics. Then, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest (RF) algorithms are employed respectively to assess the satisfaction and importance of product attributes, enabling an objective measurement of customer satisfaction and adapting to the current trend of big data. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of water heater satisfaction on the JD platform, obtaining satisfaction levels for 10 topics. In intrusion detection, the curse of dimensionality and the trade-off between maintaining a low false alarm rate and achieving a high detection rate are significant challenges. This research suggests a unique strategy based on dimensionality reduction methods to improve the performance of network intrusion detection systems (NIDS). Compressing high-dimensional network traffic data using a Long Short-Term Memory Autoencoder (LSTMAE) allows the reduced characteristics to be submitted to a classifier to identify anomalies that may indicate an attack. Using standard datasets, including Network Security Laboratory - Knowledge Discovery in Datasets (NSL-KDD), UNSW-NB15, and Canadian Institute for Cyber Security - Intrusion Detection Systems (CICIDS2017), the proposed model is tested with classifiers like Random Forest (RF) and LightGBM (Light Gradient Boosting Machines). It is hoped that by adopting this method, NIDS response times may be improved while costs associated with storing and processing data are minimized. Precision, recall, F-score, accuracy, detection rate (DR), and false alarm rate (FAR) are only a few of the performance measures used to assess the quality of the suggested models. The experimental findings show that the proposed LSTMAE model reduces prediction errors more effectively than classic machine learning techniques such as Random Forest (RF), Gradient Boosting (GB), Support Vector Machines (SVM), Deep Belief Networks (DBN), Deep Neural Networks (DNN), Autoencoder (AE), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). BACKGROUND: Numerous systems for detecting driver drowsiness have been developed; however, these systems have not yet been widely used in real-time. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate at the feasibility of detecting alert and drowsy states in drivers using an integration of features from respiratory signals, vehicle lateral position, and reaction time and out-of-vehicle ways of data collection in order to improve the system's performance and applicability in the real world. METHODS: Data was collected from 25 healthy volunteers in a driving simulator-based study. Their respiratory activity was recorded using a wearable belt and their reaction time and vehicle lateral position were measured using tests developed on the driving simulator. To induce drowsiness, a monotonous driving environment was used. Different time domain features have been extracted from respiratory signals and combined with the reaction time and lateral position of the vehicle for modeling. The observer of rating drowsiness (ORD) scale was used to label the driver's actual states. The t-tests and Man-Whitney test was used to select only statistically significant features (p < 0.05), that can differentiate between the alert and drowsy states effectively. Significant features then combined to investigate the improvement in performance using the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), the Support Vector Machines (SVMs), the Decision Trees (DTs), and the Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) classifiers. The models were implemented in Python library 3.6. RESULTS: The experimental results illustrate that the support vector machine classifier achieved accuracy of 88%, precision of 85%, recall of 83%, and F1 score of 84% using selected features. CONCLUSION: These results indicate the possibility of very accurate detection of driver drowsiness and a viable solution for a practical driver drowsiness system based on combined measurement using less-intrusive and out-of-vehicle recording methods. In the context of fifth generation (5G) technology, Device-to-Device (D2D) communication plays a pivotal role, requiring swift and intelligent decision-making in mode selection and device discovery. This study addresses the challenge of rapid mode selection and device discovery within 5G communication networks, focusing specifically on enhancing spectral and energy efficiency for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. A novel self-centered game theory-based algorithm is introduced to optimize spectral efficiency and support intelligent mode selection. Additionally, the utilization of the support vector machine (SVM) expedites mode selection decisions. For D2D discovery, the Frank-Wolfe method is adopted, significantly improving the differentiation between D2D and Cellular users based on signal strength and interference, thereby enhancing spectral efficiency. The proposed approach maximizes spectral efficiency while adhering to strict power and interference constraints, intelligently partitioning bandwidth into two subparts using game theoretic principles to amplify spectral efficiency. Furthermore, the emphasis on energy efficiency is underscored through iterative calculations to achieve maximum energy-efficient spectral allocation. Numerical analyses validate the efficacy of the proposed technique, revealing substantial improvements in accurately predicted labels. As the number of devices increases, precision and recall rates experience noteworthy enhancements, ultimately leading to superior bandwidth utilization. Erythemato-squamous Diseases (ESD) encompass a group of common skin conditions, including psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, lichen planus, pityriasis rosea, chronic dermatitis, and pityriasis rubra pilaris. These dermatological conditions affect a significant portion of the population and present a current challenge for accurate diagnosis and classification. Traditional classification methods struggle due to shared characteristics among these diseases. Machine Learning offers a valuable tool for aiding clinical decision-making in ESD classification. In this study, we leverage the UC Irvine (UCI) dermatology dataset by applying necessary preprocessing steps to handle missing data. We conduct a comparative analysis of two feature selection methods: One-way ANOVA and Chi-square test. To enhance the model's performance, we employ hyper-parameter tuning through GridSearchCV. The training process encompasses various algorithms, including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression, k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN), and Decision Trees. The culmination of our work is a hybrid ensemble machine learning model that combines the strengths of the trained classifiers. Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative condition that affects the neurological, behavioral, and physiological systems of the brain. According to the most recent WHO data, 0.51 percent of all fatalities in India are caused by PD. It is a widely recognized fact that about one million people in the United States suffer from PD, relative to nearly five million people worldwide. Approximately 90% of Parkinson's patients have speech difficulties. As a result, it is crucial to identify PD early on so that appropriate treatment may be determined. For the early diagnosis of PD, we propose a Bagging-based hybrid (B-HPD) approach in this study. Seven classifiers such as Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (DT), Logistic Regression (LR), Naïve Bayes (NB), K nearest neighbor (KNN), Random Under-sampling Boost (RUSBoost) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are considered as base estimators for Bagging ensemble method and three oversampling techniques such as Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE), Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN) and SVMSmote are implemented under this research work. Feature Selection (FS) is also used for data preprocessing and further performance enhancement. We obtain the Parkinson's Disease classification dataset (imbalanced) from the Kaggle repository. Finally, using two performance measures: Accuracy and Area under the curve (AUC), we compare the performance of the model with ALL features and with selected features. Our study suggests bagging with a base classifier: RF is showing the best performance in all the cases (with ALL features: 754, with FS: 500, with three Oversampling techniques) and may be used for PD diagnosis in the healthcare industry. This study explores the realm of predictive analytics, leveraging the power of machine learning to alleviate the suspense by forecasting T20 cricket match winners before the first ball is bowled. Drawing on a rich dataset encompassing factors such as past team performance and rankings, a diverse ensemble of predictive models, including logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), random forest, decision tree, and XGBoost, is meticulously employed. Among these, the random forest Classifier emerges as the standout performer, boasting an impressive prediction accuracy rate of 84.06%. BACKGROUND: Digital X-ray imaging is essential for diagnosing osteoporosis, but distinguishing affected patients from healthy individuals using these images remains challenging. OBJECTIVE: This study introduces a novel method using deep learning to improve osteoporosis diagnosis from bone X-ray images. METHODS: A dataset of bone X-ray images was analyzed using a newly proposed procedure. This procedure involves segregating the images into regions of interest (ROI) and non-ROI, thereby reducing data redundancy. The images were then processed to enhance both spatial and statistical features. For classification, a Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier was employed to distinguish between osteoporotic and non-osteoporotic cases. RESULTS: The proposed method demonstrated a promising Area under the Curve (AUC) of 90.8% in diagnosing osteoporosis, benchmarking favorably against existing techniques. This signifies a high level of accuracy in distinguishing osteoporosis patients from healthy controls. CONCLUSIONS: The proposed method effectively distinguishes between osteoporotic and non-osteoporotic cases using bone X-ray images. BACKGROUND: The coronavirus disease 2019 is a serious and highly contagious disease caused by infection with a newly discovered virus, named severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). OBJECTIVE: A Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system to assist physicians to diagnose Covid-19 from chest Computed Tomography (CT) slices is modelled and experimented. METHODS: The lung tissues are segmented using Otsu's thresholding method. The Covid-19 lesions have been annotated as the Regions of Interest (ROIs), which is followed by texture and shape extraction. The obtained features are stored as feature vectors and split into 80:20 train and test sets. To choose the optimal features, Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) with Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier's accuracy is employed. A Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) classifier is trained to perform classification with the selected features. RESULTS: Comparative experimentations of the proposed system with existing eight benchmark Machine Learning classifiers using real-time dataset demonstrates that the proposed system with 88.94% accuracy outperforms the benchmark classifier's results. Statistical analysis namely, Friedman test, Mann Whitney U test and Kendall's Rank Correlation Coefficient Test has been performed which indicates that the proposed method has a significant impact on the novel dataset considered. In this study, an innovative approach that combines least square support vector regression (LSSVR) with uncertainty theory to enhance its performance in dealing with low-quality or imprecise data from real-world be proposed. The resulting model, called uncertain least square support vector regression (ULSSVR), incorporates chance constraints and simplified parameter selection, which are critical to handle imprecise observations. A numerical algorithm called the conjugate residual method (CR) is introduced to reduce the computational complexity of the model solution. The experimental results using both small and medium-sized datasets demonstrate the superior performance of ULSSVR in terms of prediction accuracy and generalization ability compared to other models such as uncertain support vector regression (USVR), uncertain linear lodel, uncertain polynomial model, and uncertain growth models. ULSSVR not only improves prediction accuracy by at least 28.49% but also demonstrates faster computational speed. Video forgery, a prevalent concern in today's digital age, involves the deliberate manipulation of video content, often carried out using sophisticated video editing software. In response to this challenge, the need for an automated approach to detect forged video footage has become increasingly pressing. Our proposed methodology addresses this need by employing a multi-faceted strategy. It begins with the classification of video frames as either originating from genuine sources or having undergone manipulation. To assess the authenticity, the Δ r ¯ s metric is applied to evaluate the coherence of frame sequences. The contemporary real-world datasets often suffer from the problem of class imbalance as well as high dimensionality. For combating class imbalance, data resampling is a commonly used approach whereas for tackling high dimensionality feature selection is used. The aforesaid problems have been studied extensively as independent problems in the literature but the possible synergy between them is still not clear. This paper studies the effects of addressing both the issues in conjunction by using a combination of resampling and feature selection techniques on binary-class imbalance classification. In particular, the primary goal of this study is to prioritize the sequence or pipeline of using these techniques and to analyze the performance of the two opposite pipelines that apply feature selection before or after resampling techniques i.e., F + S or S + F. For this, a comprehensive empirical study is carried out by conducting a total of 34,560 tests on 30 publicly available datasets using a combination of 12 resampling techniques for class imbalance and 12 feature selection methods, evaluating the performance on 4 different classifiers. Through the experiments we conclude that there is no specific pipeline that proves better than the other and both the pipelines should be considered for obtaining the best classification results on high dimensional imbalanced data. Additionally, while using Decision Tree (DT) or Random Forest (RF) as base learner the predominance of S + F over F + S is observed whereas in case of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Logistic Regression (LR), F + S outperforms S + F in most cases. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most prevalent brain disorder which affects millions of people worldwide. Early detection is crucial for possible treatment. In this regard, machine learning (ML) approaches are widely utilized for AD detection. In this paper, we propose an ML-based method that drastically reduces the dimensionality of features while maintaining the relevant features and boosting the overall performance. To remove irrelevant features, first statistical feature extraction method is applied, and then further reduction among remaining features is applied by utilizing the harmony search method (HSM). The selected features are the most informative features that are fed to the different classifiers. To test the effectiveness of the proposed method, we deployed three classification techniques including support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbor (k-NN), and decision tree (DT). The experimental results show that the proposed method has a higher performance while decreasing the dimensionality of feature space. To guarantee that the performance of the proposed method is accurate, we applied an ensemble of three classifiers (SVM, KNN, and DT) for classification. The results of the proposed method verify that this method can be successfully deployed for AD detection, due to its high performance and low dimensional features, and can help improve the accuracy and efficiency of Alzheimer's disease diagnosis. The proposed method demonstrated a significant improvement, achieving high performance in AD/HC classification, with accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1-score, MCC, and Cohen's Kappa rates reaching 95.5%, 97%, 94%, 95.56%, 0.9104, and 0.9109, respectively. AD/HC classification displayed the highest performance. Additionally, in the more challenging pMCI/sMCI classification, the method achieved an accuracy of 78.50%, sensitivity of 84.00%, specificity of 73.00%, F1-score of 79.62%, MCC of 0.57, and Cohen's Kappa of 0.59. Rolling bearings are a key component of rotating machinery and their health directly affects the safe operation of mechanical equipment. Therefore, fault diagnose for rolling bearings is very important. The fault diagnosis process of rolling bearings includes three stages: signal decomposition, feature extraction, and pattern recognition. Variational mode decomposition (VMD) can suppress end effects, but improper parameter settings will cause information losses or excessive decomposition. In this work, an improved whale optimization algorithm (IWOA) is applied to parameter settings of VMD. Correspondingly, an IWOA-VMD signal decomposition method is proposed. The decomposed signal is combined with a Laplace score method and classifier to remove the redundancy and noise in the feature set and obtain a low-dimensional sensitive feature subset. Then, aiming at the problem of the parameter settings of a least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) affecting the recognition performance and accuracy, a salp swarm algorithm (SSA) is used to globally optimize the penalty parameter and kernel width in the LSSVM to establish an SSA-LSSVM fault recognition model. This model is applied to the fault diagnosis of rolling bearings. In particular, rolling bearing fault samples at Case Western Reserve University are used to verify the method. The reliability level of general aviation fleet system directly affects the economic benefits and safe operation of general aviation fleet. In order to effectively evaluate the reliability level of general aviation fleet, using the entropy weight variable fuzzy recognition and 1D-CNN depth learning reliability evaluation method. Firstly, taking the Cessna 172 general aviation fleet as the research object, refers to the maintenance statistical analysis of general aviation fleet reliability data, and classifies the fleet reliability evaluation indexes according to the ATA100 chapter standard. Combined with index importance analysis and Delphi expert investigation, 14 key items are extracted as reliability evaluation indexes of general aviation fleet. Secondly, using entropy weight method to obtain indexes weight objectively, and the evaluation level membership function is constructed based on variable fuzzy recognition method. Finally, a reliability evaluation model based on 1D-CNN deep learning method was established. Through training and testing the reliability data evaluation model of general aviation fleet, and comparing with the results of evaluation methods such as support vector machines. Intelligent Transportation Systems have become integral to daily life, with VANETs (vehicular ad-hoc networks) playing the pivotal role. VANETs, the subsets of MANETs, employ vehicles as nodes to establish intelligent transport systems. However, due to critical applications such as military use, these networks are susceptible to attacks. With features like high mobility, dynamic network topology, and coverage issues, security breaches are a concern. This necessitates a secure routing algorithm to mitigate attacks and ensure message delivery. In our study, we utilize the UNSW-NB15 intrusion detection dataset to develop training and testing models. Our proposed novel intrusion detection system employs a feature selection algorithm that prioritizes significant arriving traffic attributes. This algorithm enhances abnormal activity detection while minimizing associated features. To achieve this, we modify the Conditional Random Field algorithm with fuzzy-based rules, resulting in a more efficient selection of influential and contributing features for detecting attacks such as DoS, Worms, Fuzzers, and Shellcode. Through appropriate feature selection using the modified Conditional Random Field and Support Vector Machine classification system in our experiments, we demonstrate a notable increase in security by reducing the false positive rate. Additionally, our approach excels in detecting accuracy of Fuzzers (98.86%), DoS (98.80%), Worms (34.45%), and Shellcode (89.308%), ultimately enhancing network performance. Rainfall forecasting is essential because heavy and irregular rainfall creates many impacts like destruction of crops and farms. Here, the occurrence of rainfall is highly related to atmospheric parameters. Thus, a better forecasting model is essential for an early warning that can minimize risks and manage the agricultural farms in a better way. In this manuscript, Deep Neural Network (DNN) optimized with Flamingo Search Optimization Algorithm (FSOA) is proposed for Long-term and Short-term Rainfall forecasting. Here, the rainfall data is obtained from the standard dataset as Sudheerachary India Rainfall Analysis (IRA). Moreover, the Morphological filtering and Extended Empirical wavelet transformation (MFEEWT) approach is utilized for pre-processing process. Also, the deep neural network is utilized for performing rainfall prediction and classification. Additionally, the parameters of the DNN model is optimizing by Flamingo Search Optimization Algorithm. Finally, the proposed MFEEWT-DNN- FSOA approach has effectively predict the rainfall in different locations around India. The prediction of power demand for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) is an essential basis to ensure the rational distribution of the energy system and stable economic flight. In order to accurately predict the demand power of oil-electric hybrid UAV, a method based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) and Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) is proposed to optimize the hybrid prediction model composed of long-short term memory (LSTM) and Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM). Firstly, perform VMD decomposition on the raw demand power data and use the sample entropy method to classify the feature-distinct mode components into high-frequency and low-frequency categories. Then, each modality component was separately input into the mixed model for rolling prediction. The LSSVM model and LSTM model were used to process low-frequency and high-frequency components, respectively. Finally, the predicted values for each modal component are linearly combined to obtain the final predicted value for power demand. Globally, heart disease is the primary cause of death. Early detection of this disease enables cardiologists to make more accurate judgments regarding the health of their patients. Due to machine learning's ability to identify patterns in data, its use in the medical industry has increased. Many heart disease prediction models have been developed by various researchers utilizing machine learning techniques (MLTs). The performance of MLTs on heart disease prediction may vary for different accuracy measures. Thus, the choice of the appropriate machine-learning technique for heart disease prediction is a challenging task. This paper proposes a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM)-based method to evaluate the MLTs for heart disease prediction considering various performance measures taken into account altogether. The proposed approach uses the concept of a combined compromise solution (CoCoSo)- an MCDM method. For validation of the proposed approach, an experimental study was conducted to evaluate the performance of fifteen machine learning techniques for predicting heart disease over three heart disease datasets considering six performance measures taken into account altogether. Results show that the logistic regression and support vector machine are recommended as the most suitable MLTs for heart disease prediction modeling with respect to six performance measures considered simultaneously. BACKGROUND: Recent studies implicate the effect of vestibular loss on cognitive decline, including hippocampal volume loss. As hippocampal atrophy is an important biomarker of Alzheimer's disease, exploring vestibular dysfunction as a risk factor for dementia and its role in hippocampal atrophy is of interest. OBJECTIVE: To replicate previous literature on whole-brain and hippocampal volume in semicircular canal dysfunction (bilateral vestibulopathy; BV) and explore the association between otolith function and hippocampal volume. METHODS: Hippocampal and whole-brain MRI volumes were compared in adults aged between 55 and 83 years. Participants with BV (n = 16) were compared to controls individually matched on age, sex, and hearing status (n = 16). Otolith influence on hippocampal volume in preserved semicircular canal function was evaluated (n = 34). RESULTS: Whole-brain and targeted hippocampal approaches using volumetric and surface-based measures yielded no significant differences when comparing BV to controls. Binary support vector machines were unable to classify inner ear health status above chance level. Otolith parameters were not associated with hippocampal volume in preserved semicircular canal function. CONCLUSIONS: No significant differences in whole-brain or hippocampal volume were found when comparing BV participants with healthy controls. Swarm intelligence optimization algorithm has been proved to perform well in the field of parameter optimization. In order to further improve the performance of intelligent optimization algorithm, this paper proposes an improved and adaptive tunicate swarm algorithm (IMATSA) based on tunicate swarm algorithm (TSA). IMATSA improves TSA in the following four aspects: population diversity, local search convergence speed, jumping out of local optimal position, and balancing global and local search. Firstly, IMATSA adopts Tent map and quadratic interpolation to initialize population and enhance the diversity. Secondly, IMATSA uses Golden-Sine algorithm to accelerate the convergence of local search. Thirdly, in the process of global development, IMATSA adopts Levy flight and the improved Gauss disturbance method to adaptively improves and coordinates the ability of global development and local search. Then, this paper verifies the performance of IMATSA based on 14 benchmark functions experiment, ablation experiment, parameter optimization experiments of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT), Wilcoxon signed rank test and image multi-threshold segmentation experiment with the performance metrics are convergence speed, convergence value, significance level P-value, Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Standard Deviation (STD). Experimental results show that IMATSA performs better in three kinds of benchmark functions; each component of IMATSA has a positive effect on the performance; IMATSA performs better in parameter optimization experiments of SVM experiment and GBDT; there is significant difference between IMATSA and other algorithms by Wilcoxon signed rank test; in image segmentation, the performance is directly proportional to the number of thresholds, and compared with other algorithms, IMATSA has better comprehensive performance. BACKGROUND: Anti-PD-(L)1 immunotherapy has emerged as a promising treatment approach for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), though the response rates remain low. Pre-treatment response prediction may improve patient allocation for immunotherapy. Blood platelets act as active immune-like cells, thereby constraining T-cell activity, propagating cancer metastasis, and adjusting their spliced mRNA content. OBJECTIVE: We investigated whether platelet RNA profiles before start of nivolumab anti-PD1 immunotherapy may predict treatment responses. METHODS: We performed RNA-sequencing of platelet RNA samples isolated from stage III-IV NSCLC patients before treatment with nivolumab. Treatment response was scored by the RECIST-criteria. Data were analyzed using a predefined thromboSeq analysis including a particle-swarm-enhanced support vector machine (PSO/SVM) classification algorithm. RESULTS: We collected and processed a 286-samples cohort, separated into a training/evaluation and validation series and subjected those to training of the PSO/SVM-classification algorithm. We observed only low classification accuracy in the 107-samples validation series (area under the curve (AUC) training series: 0.73 (95% -CI: 0.63–0.84, n = 88 samples), AUC evaluation series: 0.64 (95% -CI: 0.51–0.76, n = 91 samples), AUC validation series: 0.58 (95% -CI: 0.45–0.70, n = 107 samples)), employing a five-RNAs biomarker panel. CONCLUSIONS: We concluded that platelet RNA may have minimally discriminative capacity for anti-PD1 nivolumab response prediction, with which the current methodology is insufficient for diagnostic application. The performance of Adaboost is highly sensitive to noisy and outlier samples. This is therefore the weights of these samples are exponentially increased in successive rounds. In this paper, three novel schemes are proposed to hunt the corrupted samples and eliminate them through the training process. The methods are: I) a hybrid method based on K-means clustering and K-nearest neighbor, II) a two-layer Adaboost, and III) soft margin support vector machines. All of these solutions are compared to the standard Adaboost on thirteen Gunnar Raetsch's datasets under three levels of class-label noise. To test the proposed method on a real application, electroencephalography (EEG) signals of 20 schizophrenic patients and 20 age-matched control subjects, are recorded via 20 channels in the idle state. Several features including autoregressive coefficients, band power and fractal dimension are extracted from EEG signals of all participants. Sequential feature subset selection technique is adopted to select the discriminative EEG features. Experimental results imply that exploiting the proposed hunting techniques enhance the Adaboost performance as well as alleviating its robustness against unconfident and noisy samples over Raetsch benchmark and EEG features of the two groups. Explainable Machine Learning brings expandability, interpretability, and accountability to Data Mining Algorithms. Existing explanation frameworks focus on explaining the decision process of a single model in a static dataset. However, in data stream mining changes in data distribution over time, called concept drift, may require updating the learning models to reflect the current data environment. It is therefore important to go beyond static models and understand what has changed among the learning models before and after a concept drift. We propose a Data Stream Explanability framework (DSE) that works together with a typical data stream mining framework where support vector machine models are used. DSE aims to help non-expert users understand model dynamics in a concept drifting data stream. DSE visualizes differences between SVM models before and after concept drift, to produce explanations on why the new model fits the data better. A survey was carried out between expert and non-expert users on the effectiveness of the framework. Although results showed non-expert users on average responded with less understanding of the issue compared to expert users, the difference is not statistically significant. The performance-related pay system in colleges and universities is one of the hot spots in the reform of the wage system in colleges and universities in recent years. It is an important measure to improve the quality of education and teaching in colleges and universities and the construction of talent teams. However, there are many problems in the performance-related pay system of colleges and universities, such as unreasonable evaluation indicators, unfair weight distribution, etc., which makes it difficult to accurately reflect the work performance of teachers and staff in the measurement of performance-related pay. Based on this background and trend, this paper conducted an in-depth discussion on the salary system in China's colleges and universities, and used the support vector regression algorithm to study the performance-based salary management of colleges and universities based on linear programming and mathematical statistics. The research showed that with other conditions remaining unchanged, the proportions of primary, intermediate, deputy and senior high school students who were dissatisfied with the system of performance-based pay in colleges and universities were 82%, 57%, 46%, and 9%, respectively. After applying linear programming and mathematical statistics, the proportions of elementary, intermediate, sub-high and ortho-high became 1%, 2%, 5% and 7% respectively. The decline of the first three was particularly obvious, and the teachers with positive high school also dropped by 2%, indicating that linear programming and mathematical statistics were beneficial to the management of performance wages in colleges and universities. At present, the local appearance-based texture descriptors in Facial Expression Recognition have limited accuracy due to the inability to encode the discriminative edges. The major cause is the presence of distorted and weak edges due to noise. Hence, this paper proposes new Expression Descriptor called as Weighted Edge Local Directional Pattern (WELDP) which can discriminate the weak and strong edges. Unlike the conventional local descriptors, WELDP searches for the support of neighbor pixels in the determination of Facial expression attributes such as Edges, Corners, Lines, and Curved Edges. WELDP encodes only Strong edge responses and discards weaker edge responses after extracting them through edge detection masks. This work adapted two masks for edge detection: they are Robinson Compass Mask and Kirsch Compass Mask. Moreover, the WELDP aims at code redundancy and encode each pixel only with seven bits (one sign bit and six directional bits). Then the WELDP image is described by a histogram and then processed through SVM (Support Vector Machine) for expression identification. Majority classes are easily to be found in imbalance datasets, instead, minority classes are hard to be paid attention to due to the number of is rare. However, most existing classifiers are better at exploring majority classes, resulting in that classification results are unfair. To address this issue of binary classification for imbalance data, this paper proposes a novel fuzzy support vector machine. The thought is that we trained two support vector machines to learn the majority class and the minority class, respectively. Then, the proposed fuzzy is used to estimate the assistance provided by instance points for the training of the support vector machines. Finally, it can be judged for unknown instance points through evaluating that they provided the assistance to the training of the support vector machines. Results on the ten UCI datasets show that the class accuracy of the proposed method is 0.747 when the imbalanced ratio between the classes reaches 87.8. Compare with the competitors, the proposed method wins over them in classification performance. We find that aiming at the classification of imbalanced data, the complexity of data distribution has negative effects on classification results, while fuzzy can resist these negative effects. With relevant computational software, fuzzy prediction, a new intelligent modelling technique, is utilised to resolve unclear phenomena in various disciplines. Excellent software risk prediction is essential for effective prediction, such as risk management, case planning, and control. We provide an intelligent modelling strategy for software risk prediction in this research. We are applying a support vector machine model and two phases of hybrid fuzzy linear regression clustering (SVM). This method may produce the most accurate risk predictions for various continuous data. The best model with even less error value, acceptable interpretability, and imprecise uncertainty inputs is a fuzzy linear regression with symmetric parameter clustering with a support vector machine (FLRWSPCSVM), a new intelligent modelling technique. Aiming at anomaly detection upon a high-dimensional space, this paper proposed a novel autoencoder-support vector machine. The key thought is that using the autoencoder extracts the features from high-dimensional data, and then the support vector machine achieves the separation of abnormal features and normal features. To increase the precision of identifying anomalies, Chebyshev's theorem was used to estimate the upper of the number of abnormal features. Meanwhile, the dot product operation was implemented in order to strengthen the learning of the model for class labels. Experiment results show that the detected accuracy of the proposed method is 0.766 when the data dimensionality is 5408, and also wins over competitors in detected performance for the considered cases. We also demonstrate that the strengthened learning of class labels can improve the ability of the model to detect anomalies. As the size and complexity of projects grows, estimates are increasingly used, especially in the agile community. Software development cannot begin without first conducting thorough planning and estimation. Estimating how much work a project will take is a common first step in the software development life cycle. By employing ensemble techniques, we integrate multiple learning algorithms to build a more accurate predictive model. The core elements of our proposed stacked ensemble strategy include Decision Tree, Principal Components Regression, Random Forest, NeuralNet, GLMNET, XGBoost, Earth, and Support Vector Machine. Moreover, we augment the model's performance by incorporating a blend of these foundational algorithms with other ensemble regression methods. Extensive testing in the suggested research work with a number of Super Learners demonstrates that Regression is the best technique for judging effort. The evaluation of the different estimators involved the use of various metrics, including Mean Absolute Error, Root Mean Squared Error, Mean Squared Error, Percentage of Close Approximations within 25% of the True Values (PRED (25)), R-Squared Coefficients, Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. The proposed method yields more trustworthy predicted performance than either single-model approaches or stacked ensembles. Due to the vast amount of patient health data, automated healthcare systems still struggle to classify and diagnose various ailments. Learning redundant data also reduces categorization accuracy. A Deep Belief Network (DBN) has been used to precisely extract the most important aspects from clinical data by ignoring irrelevant/redundant features. Due of many learning variables, training is complicated. Similarly, the hybrid model has been employed by ensemble Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) to categorize diseases. But, its efficiency depends on the proper choice of kernels and hyper-parameters. Therefore, this paper develops an efficient feature extraction and classification model for healthcare systems. First, several medical data related to the patient's health are collected. Then, an Optimized DBN (ODBN) model is presented for maximizing the accurateness of DBN by optimizing the learning variables depends on the Ant Lion Optimization (ALO) algorithm. With learning ODBN, the most relevant features are extracted with reduced computational complexity. After that, the CNN-LSTM with Unsupervised Fine-tuned Deep Self-Organizing Map (UFDSOM)-based classifier model is designed to categorize the extracted features into categories of illnesses. In this novel classifier, dropout normalization and parameter tuning processes are applied to avoid overfitting and optimize the hyper-parameters, which results in a less training period. The Internet of Things (IoT) integrated Cloud (IoT-Cloud) has gotten much attention in the past decade. This technology's rapid growth makes it even more critical. As a result, it has become critical to protect data from attackers to maintain its integrity, confidentiality, protection, privacy, and the procedures required to handle it. Existing methods for detecting network anomalies are typically based on traditional machine learning (ML) models such as linear regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), and so on. Although these methods can produce some outstanding results, they have low accuracy and rely heavily on manual traffic feature design, which has become obsolete in the age of big data. To overcome such drawbacks in intrusion detection (ID), this paper proposes a new deep learning (DL) model namely Morlet Wavelet Kernel Function included Long Short-Term Memory (MWKF-LSTM), to recognize the intrusions in the IoT-Cloud environment. Initially, to maintain a user's privacy in the network, the SHA-512 hashing mechanism incorporated a blockchain authentication (SHABA) model is developed that checks the authenticity of every device/user in the network for data uploading in the cloud. After successful authentication, the data is transmitted to the cloud through various gateways. Then the intrusion detection system (IDS) using MWKF-LSTM is implemented to identify the type of intrusions present in the received IoT data. The MWKF-LSTM classifier comes up with the Differential Evaluation based Dragonfly Algorithm (DEDFA) optimal feature selection (FS) model for increasing the performance of the classification. After ID, the non-attacked data is encrypted and stored in the cloud securely utilizing Enhanced Elliptical Curve Cryptography (E2CC) mechanism. Finally, in the data retrieval phase, the user's authentication is again checked to ensure user privacy and prevent the encrypted data in the cloud from intruders. To solve the problem that the operation state of transformer is difficult to quantify, a method of quantitative evaluation and prediction of transformer operating state is proposed, which combines the information entropy of matter element and Support Vector Machine. In the evaluation, various hydrogen gases in the transformer operation are taken as the evaluation indexes and the three-dimensional cross compound element is constructed. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to determine the theoretical weight of the evaluation index, and the entropy method is used to determine the objective weight of the evaluation index, and the final weight is the joint weight of the theoretical weight and the objective weight. Transformer Health index is calculated by using complex element correlation entropy. In prediction, the grid search, genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) are used to optimize the parameters of Support Vector Machine. and the prediction model of Health index is established by SVM. BACKGROUND: Dental panoramic imaging plays a pivotal role in dentistry for diagnosis and treatment planning. However, correctly positioning patients can be challenging for technicians due to the complexity of the imaging equipment and variations in patient anatomy, leading to positioning errors. These errors can compromise image quality and potentially result in misdiagnoses. OBJECTIVE: This research aims to develop and validate a deep learning model capable of accurately and efficiently identifying multiple positioning errors in dental panoramic imaging. METHODS AND MATERIALS: This retrospective study used 552 panoramic images selected from a hospital Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). We defined six types of errors (E1-E6) namely, (1) slumped position, (2) chin tipped low, (3) open lip, (4) head turned to one side, (5) head tilted to one side, and (6) tongue against the palate. First, six Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models were employed to extract image features, which were then fused using transfer learning. Next, a Support Vector Machine (SVM) was applied to create a classifier for multiple positioning errors, using the fused image features. Finally, the classifier performance was evaluated using 3 indices of precision, recall rate, and accuracy. RESULTS: Experimental results show that the fusion of image features with six binary SVM classifiers yielded high accuracy, recall rates, and precision. Specifically, the classifier achieved an accuracy of 0.832 for identifying multiple positioning errors. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that six SVM classifiers effectively identify multiple positioning errors in dental panoramic imaging. The fusion of extracted image features and the employment of SVM classifiers improve diagnostic precision, suggesting potential enhancements in dental imaging efficiency and diagnostic accuracy. Meiotic recombination has a crucial role in the biological process involving double-strand DNA breaks. Recombination hotspots are regions with a size varying from 1 to 2 kb, which is closely related to the double-strand breaks. With the increasement of both sperm data and population data, it has been demonstrated that computational methods can help us to identify the recombination spots with the advantages of time-saving and cost-saving compared to experimental verification approaches. To obtain better identification performance and investigate the potential role of various DNA sequence-derived features in building computational models, we designed a computational model by extracting features including the position-specific trinucleotide propensity (PSTNP) information, the electron-ion interaction potential (EIIP) values, nucleotide composition (NC) and dinucleotide composition (DNC). Finally, the supporting vector machine (SVM) model was trained by using the 172-dimensional features selected by means of the F -score feature ranking mode, and the accuracy of the predictor reached 98.24% in the jackknife test, which elucidates this model is a potential way for identifying recombination spots. The hardness properties of constructional materials should be investigated as important factors in assessing the performance over the operation period. Two tests are performed to determine the stiffness characteristic, including slump and compressive strength (CS). They must be considered to examine efficiency, durability, and resistance to pressure. Due to the structure's susceptibility and usage in dams, bridges, etc., high-performance concrete must have an appropriate set of these tests. There are two soft-based and laboratory methods for performing these tests. The laboratory method is not economical in terms of cost and time, and artificial intelligence (AI) is used to reduce the aforementioned factors. Models and optimizers use software-based methods to help reduce errors and increase model accuracy. So, The main purpose of this research has been introducing novel ways of coupling an ensemble model with optimizers by adjusting some internal parameters. In this article, two models, the Radial Basis Function Neural network and Support Vector Regression were combined and coupled with General Normal Distribution Optimization (GNDO) and Archimedes optimization algorithm (AOA) into the two frameworks of SVRRBF-AOA and SVRRBF-GNDO. As a result, the hybrid model of SVRRBF-AOA could perform well by obtaining R2 and RMSE of 0.9915 and 2.71 for the slump and 0.9845 and 3.34 for CS, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The classification problem is a key area of research in machine learning. The Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM) is an important classifier that is commonly used to solve classification problems. Its widespread use stems from its replacement of the inequality constraint in the Support Vector Machine (SVM) with the equality constraint, which transforms the convex quadratic programming (QP) problem of SVM into the solution of linear equations. However, when dealing with multi-class classification problems, LSSVM faces the challenges of lack of sparsity and sample noises, which can negatively impact its performance. Based on the modeling characteristics and data distribution of the multi-class LSSVM model, this paper proposes two improvements and establishes an improved fuzzy sparse multi-class least squares support vector machine (IF-S-M-LSSVM). The first improvement adopts a non-iterative sparse algorithm, which can delete training sample points to different degrees by adjusting the sparse ratio. The second improvement addresses the impact of sample noise on determining the optimal hyperplane by adding a fuzzy membership degree based on sample density. The advantages of the new model, in terms of training speed and classification accuracy, are verified through UCI machine learning standard data set experiments.
