Conference proceedings are valuable sources for research, providing insights into individual or organisational projects. Australian library and information services (LIS) professionals have the opportunity to contribute to a robust conference culture, including the biennial library technology VALA conference. Practice-driven conferences can offer interpretations of LIS practitioner experiences, however, there is limited research focusing on Australian LIS conference proceedings. The VALA conference papers offer a unique record of technology's impact, influence, and implementation in Australian LIS organisations over the last forty years. This article will outline the objective and methodology of an ongoing research project undertaking historical analysis of VALA conference papers. The research project seeks to examine key themes, theories, and tools discussed in VALA conference papers and will attempt to identify if evolving technology influences the practices and attitudes of Australian LIS practitioners. The article will identify the research methods and the content analysis techniques that will be used in the project, and present preliminary results from a pilot study presented at the 2023 RAILS conference. Introduction: Theory papers have been the most commonly employed method to assess learning outcomes in medical education. In these papers, both recall abilities and higher‑order cognitive functions need to be assessed giving proper weightage as per relevance. Hence it becomes necessary that valid assessment methods are employed to evaluate the required objectives/competencies. The objective of the study was to develop a method for analyzing postgraduate question papers of various specialties. Methodology: A rubric matrix was created with three broad objective criteria to assess framing and layout of the questions in each paper, analysis of different sets for same examination, and finally an overall assessment of all the papers for each subject. Results: A total of 28 specialty papers were available. A total number of papers analysed = 340. The overall mean score out of total 60 marks was 38.64 ± 4.5. It was seen that the majority (60%) of the departments have been graded as fair on analysis of the theory papers. None of the departments were graded as very good, while 7% of them were graded as good. Although a very minuscule percentage of the papers had grammatical errors and duplication of questions in the sets, only 57% of the departments had done a proper moderation and 21% had used higher domains of learning for assessment. Conclusion: Analysis of postgraduate question papers showed that the questions asked for postgraduates are more recall‑based instead of higher taxonomy of cognitive domain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Agricultural and applied economists have maintained a public discourse at the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) meetings and subsequently published papers discussing the mission of land‐grant institutions and the role of AAEA members in that mission. With a content analysis of 4001 Invited Papers and Presidential Speeches, we find agricultural and applied economists questioned their profession's purpose and role within the land‐grant system. The reflective questions still apply to land‐grant institutions and the agricultural and applied economics profession. This study investigates the views of contemporary Muslim jurists about withdrawing treatment of the terminally ill. Its aim is threefold. Firstly, it analyses jurists' views concerning core themes within the process of withdrawing treatment. Secondly, it provides insight into fatwas about withdrawing treatment. Thirdly, it compares these views with current medical standards in Europe and the Atlantic world on withdrawing treatment. The data consisted of six papers by Muslim jurists presented at the conference of the Islamic Fiqh Council in 2015. We conducted a directed content analysis (DCA) through a predetermined framework and compiled an overview of all previous fatwas referred to in the papers, which are also analysed. The results show that the general consensus is that if health cannot be restored, treatment may be withdrawn at the request of the patient and/or his family or on the initiative of the doctor. The accompanying fatwa emphasizes the importance of life-prolonging treatment if this does not harm the patient. It becomes apparent in the fatwa that the doctor has the monopoly in decision-making, which is inconsistent with current medical standards in Europe. Managing disclosure in view of the importance of maintaining the hope of Muslim patients may challenge the doctor's obligation to share a diagnosis with them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to highlight the current trends in the literature on sustainability by applying a bibliometric review of papers on sustainability published in Environment, Development and Sustainability. Bibliometric analysis is a quantitative approach to bibliographic materials that highlights the core theoretical and empirical research on a specific field. In addition, it allows the classification of previous studies. Previous bibliometric reviewers were limited to sustainability papers in specific industries, while this study considers all papers on sustainability to provide further insights on overall sustainability topics. The analysis was based on keyword cartography analysis, bibliometric authors' citation analysis, bibliometric papers' citation analysis, bibliometric references' co-citation analysis, journals' co-citation cartography, and qualitative content analysis. A total of 997 articles on sustainability were reviewed. Bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer and content analysis was performed using WordStat. Six major clusters were identified: environmental sustainability, sustainable development, urban sustainability, ecological footprint, environment, and climate change. In addition, the results reveal that Environment, Development and Sustainability has increasingly experienced important growth in research papers and citations, reflecting its significant contribution to the sustainability research field. In addition, this study presents recommendations for future research opportunities in the field of sustainability. The findings of this study have implications for sustainability research, such as the assessment of environmental and social sustainability in multinational institutional contexts and across industries as well as the examination of the impact of environmental and social sustainability on different corporate aspects and decisions. This study is the only one to review the key topics on which papers published in Environment, Development and Sustainability are focused and can be largely used for sustainability practices. This study provides an overview of how the literature on sustainability has developed, as well as a summary of the most productive authors, along with countries, organizations, and journal sources. Purpose: This paper studies the Digital Service Innovation (DSI) concept by systematically reviewing earlier studies from various scholarly communities. This study aims to recognize how recent advances in DSI literature from different research streams complement and can be incorporated into the growing digital servitization literature to define better and understand DSI. Design/methodology/approach: After systematically identifying 123 relevant articles, this study employed complementary methods, such as author bibliographic coupling, linguistic text mining/textual analysis and qualitative content analyses. Findings: This paper first maps the intellectual structure and boundaries of the DSI-related communities and qualitatively assesses their characteristics. These communities are (1) Innovation for digital servitization, (2) Service innovation in the digital age and (3) Adoption of novel e-services enabled by information system development. Next, the composition of the DSI concept is examined and depicted to comprehend the notion's critical dimensions. The findings discuss the range of theories and methods in the existing research, including antecedents, processes and outcomes of DSI. Originality/value: This study reviews, extends the understanding of origins and critically evaluates DSI-related research. Moreover, the paper redefines and clarifies the structure and boundaries of the DSI-concept. In doing so, it elaborates on the substance of DSI and identifies the essential themes for its understanding and conceptualization. Thus, the study helps the future development of the concept and allows knowledge accumulation by bridging adjacent research communities. This paper presents a systematic literature review on the impact of female directorship on firm performance. We follow Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) to carry out this study. The Scopus database has been used for the identification of all the relevant documents. Several filters and manual screens have been carried out to identify a final set of 984 journal articles. We conduct a content analysis of the top 100 most influential papers ranked based on their average citations per year. The analysis covers a wide range of aspects such as research methodology, the variables and proxies used for female directorship and firm performance, main empirical findings, the sample country, the number of countries included in the sample, the sample region and the sample industry. Most of the top 100 papers (88%) have reported a positive impact on firm performance from having female directors. This study also identifies research gaps and proposes directions for future research. Our findings may have policy implications and can help regulators in devising appropriate corporate governance mechanisms with respect to female directorship. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The poor people segment has gained considerable scholarly attention, particularly after eight scholars established it as an untapped market. This study attempts to understand the nine consumption behaviours of a poor consumer. Therefore, we collate 384 scholarly papers indexed in the Scopus database, published during the period 1975–2020. Both evaluative and bibliometric relationship techniques, namely, Biblioshiny and VOSviewer, are utilized to understand the domain's progress in the past 45 years. Besides this, content analysis is conducted via hand search to identify the most utilized research methods, popularly applied theories and most explored contexts. Results show that research in this field has grown exponentially, particularly after 2007, with research focusing on low-income consumers, bottom-of-pyramid consumers and mobile money users. Fingermarks used in forensic investigation are biometric elements widely utilized in identification thanks to their unique and classifiable characteristics. Despite numerous studies investigating fingermark development on different surfaces, few studies have addressed the skin surface of deceased individuals, given the challenging nature of this substrate. This study investigated the transfer and development of fingermarks on human skin that had been systematically deposited over the forehead, neck, and wrist. Additionally, gender, age, and the time elapsed since deposition were issued as additional factors impacting fingermark development. Therefore, we prepared a study setting representing a crime scene by modelling the scene and then utilized 400 fingermarks. The marks transferred to thermal paper were developed by applying ThermaNin and magnetic black fingermark powder as fingermark development methods and then photographed. They were then evaluated for their suitability for identification via scoring and statistical analysis. The results indicated that 36% of all marks obtained from the skin of living persons and 66% of those from skin surfaces of dead bodies received the highest score and were assessed as suitable for identification. Despite the negative effect of increased time since deposition, it was revealed that the ThermaNin method yielded better results than magnetic black fingermark powder. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to examine the roles of tactile materials and origami models in the perception of concept definitions and representations in geometry applications of individuals with visual impairments. This case study draws on data from eight individuals with visual impairments selected according to the purposive sampling method in a mathematics village. Video recordings of focus group interviews conducted with tactile materials and origami models were analyzed by content analysis. Tactile materials made it possible for them to perceive concept definitions and visual representations, while the construction of origami models made every component designable, such as the relationship between concepts, visual prototypes and sub-concepts. Individuals with visual impairments have been quite successful in designing different representations and strategies for geometric concepts with perfect folding. Sustainable innovations offer opportunities to address environment and social concerns along with ensuring economic gains. To harness this opportunity, organisations require relevant organisational and strategic skills. This study uses a semi-systematic literature review combined with content analysis to identify and synthesise 87 peer-reviewed research papers and create a comprehensive conceptual framework of internal firm factors that enhance sustainability-oriented product and process innovations in an organisation. It identifies 10 variables that incorporate the four broad factors required for successful sustainable innovation performance, namely, requisite resources and capabilities, conducive organisational structures and processes, a culture that promotes sustainable innovations and leadership that is committed to sustainability goals. The framework provides a comprehensive and structured perspective on the internal factors promoting sustainable innovations, and, therefore, gives practical insights to organisations in their sustainability journey. Violence is a complex and broad concept and phenomenon that has been present throughout history. In fact, it is almost impossible to fully grasp the real reasons or motives behind acts of violence as they are varied. Violence has been quite influential in human evolution and existence; it is prevalent not only in real life but also in different narratives. The latter could be media, cinema, or literature, as they are efficient means that could represent a variety of topics, issues, and phenomena, and the topic of violence is no exception. In this regard, this paper attempts to scrutinize the various aspects of violence and crime driven by war in Rawi Hage's two novels, DeNiro's Game and Cockroach, focusing on physical violence that is legitimized by war and psychological violence that is a result of the former, providing a textual analysis that considers thematic and character analysis. The novel's context is the Lebanese society during the cruel Lebanese Civil War that left its people struggling for their lives even after the war stopped. This paper attempts to consider the brutality of violence during wartime and its consequences in the long run, which transcend the actual physical abuse and harm to the psychological one that causes trauma and mental disturbance. In today's dynamic digital landscape, the prevalence of multimedia content across various platforms underscores the importance of advanced techniques for analyzing data across diverse modalities. This paper explores the integration of text data with other modalities such as images, videos, and audio to enable comprehensive analysis and understanding. Specifically, the focus is on investigating methods for sentiment analysis in multimedia content and facilitating cross-modal retrieval. The paper addresses the challenges and opportunities in multimodal analysis, reviews existing techniques, and proposes novel methods for enhancing sentiment analysis and cross-modal retrieval through multimodal fusion and deep learning architectures. The challenges inherent in multimodal analysis include data heterogeneity, semantic gap, modality imbalance, and scalability. These challenges necessitate the development of robust techniques for multimodal fusion, feature representation, and cross-modal mapping. Existing methods, including early fusion, late fusion, and hybrid fusion techniques, are reviewed, alongside recent advancements in deep learning-based multimodal fusion architectures. Proposed methodologies aim to augment sentiment analysis and cross-modal retrieval through innovative multimodal fusion techniques and deep learning architectures. Experimental evaluations validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods in improving sentiment analysis accuracy and cross-modal retrieval performance. Purpose: Micro-finance has a significant role in the better performance of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the existing literature on the role of micro-finance and its approaches in MSMEs. Design/methodology/approach: This work performs a bibliometric analysis using a data set of 631 articles collected from the Scopus database. The Bibliometrix R package and Vosviewer are used to conduct performance analysis and scientific mapping. Performance analysis shows the publication trend, key authors, journals and top influential articles. Science mapping through a bibliographic coupling network of documents is prepared to discover the intellectual structure of the field. Findings: This review has identified the four major themes: access to finance and schemes, women empowerment and poverty alleviation, the performance of micro-finance institutions and recent development in micro-financial institutions. With the help of these research themes, the paper also highlights future research agendas. This paper presents a comprehensive bibliometric literature review that aims to analyze and synthesize the existing research on the digital supply chain. By employing a bibliometric approach, this study provides insights into the trends, key research themes, influential authors, and relevant journals in the field of DSC. Furthermore, it explores the geographical distribution of publications, collaboration networks among researchers, and the evolution of research topics. The comprehensive bibliometric analysis of literature in DSC is performed through data visualization and content analysis. Data visualization enables the analysis of publication performance and science mapping by examining prolific journals, authors, countries, influential papers, and conducting citation, co-citation, and bibliographic coupling analyses. Content analysis is carried out by examining the occurrence and clustering of textual data. The bibliometric literature review and content analysis were carried out on 114 documents indexed in the Scopus database, which were selected using the Prisma protocol. The data visualization analysis of the literature review through VOSviewer draws the landscape of scholarly research in the digital supply chain. Based on the research landscape, the content analysis demonstrates the significant effects that the incorporation of digital technology into supply chain management has had on several important research topics. The main research trends in digital supply chain according to the content analysis are: intelligent supply chain management, technologies to drive supply chains performance, circular supply chains, information reliability in supply chains, and sustainable supply chains. Purpose: This paper aims to provide bibliometric data from previously published research in Islamic fund management. Several categories, such as the most influential authors, the keywords and themes of the previously published research, were analyzed. Also, this paper provides a rigorous background for Islamic mutual funds research by synthesizing and reviewing the content of the previously published research to identify the gaps and provide future research direction. Design/methodology/approach: Data were gathered from Scopus databases from the year 2007 until 2022. A total of 115 articles were found published over the period of 15 years. Three different software, namely, R-Studio, VOSviewer and Excel are used to analyze the data that depict, among others, the most impactful authors in the field, the top journals covering Islamic fund management research and the most cited document. Content analysis of the previously published research was also provided. Findings: Publication in Islamic funds started gaining attention in the year 2012 and after. Collaborative works on Islamic funds are not strong yet among the contributory nations, although the USA and Malaysia contributed the highest number of publications. This study also found that there was a lack of research collaboration among authors in this research field, and most of the articles published were concentrated on the performance measurements of Islamic funds. Research limitations/implications: Researchers might find the results of this paper useful, as they provide a comprehensive analysis of the previously published research in the field. Practical implications: While these findings gave an overview of the intellectual structure of the research field, they also have the potential to inspire scholars working on Islamic funds research to collaborate on new research projects. Managers can also use this research to further enhance the emergence of Islamic fund management. Researchers from different fields have studied the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and published their results in peer-reviewed journals indexed in international databases such as Web of Science (WoS), Scopus, PubMed. Focusing on efficient methods for navigating the extensive literature on COVID-19 pandemic research, our study conducts a content analysis of the top 1000 cited papers in WoS that delve into the subject by using elements of natural language processing (NLP). Knowing that in WoS, a scientific paper is described by the group Paper = {Abstract, Keyword, Title}; we obtained via NLP methods the word dictionaries with their frequencies of use and the word cloud for the 100 most used words, and we investigated if there is a degree of similarity between the titles of the papers and their abstracts, respectively. Using the Python packages NLTK, TextBlob, VADER, we computed sentiment scores for paper titles and abstracts, analyzed the results, and then, using Azure Machine Learning-Sentiment analysis, extended the range of comparison of sentiment scores. Our proposed analysis method can be applied to any research topic or theme from papers, articles, or projects in various fields of specialization to create a minimal dictionary of terms based on frequency of use, with visual representation by word cloud. Complementing the content analysis in our research with sentiment and similarity analysis highlights the different or similar treatment of the topics addressed in the research, as well as the opinions and feelings conveyed by the authors in relation to the researched issue. The main objective of this paper is to perform a detailed analysis of the scientific literature on cultural tourism in rural areas through a bibliometric study of the papers indexed in the Web of Science database. The bibliometric analysis was carried out using performance analysis and science mapping techniques. Authors' keywords and KeyWords Plus were analyzed using RapidMiner software, and VOSviewer software was employed to create category maps and visualize the evolution of keywords. Content analysis of influential publications was used to show the evolution of knowledge and discover the most current issues. The results show the evolution of publications on cultural tourism in rural areas and identify the most influential journals, articles, authors, institutions and countries, as well as the most important research topics in the field. To assess the potential of a paper diary for strengthening accountability in public agricultural extension services. Therefore a paper diary called 'Diary for Agricultural Extension Officers' was developed and tested in Uganda. A qualitative case study research approach was applied for the development and assessment of the diary. Data were collected using focus group discussions and individual face-to-face interviews. Data analysis was conducted using the content analysis method. Paper diaries can strengthen accountability in public agricultural extension services by enabling alignment of the extension activities of the field agents to the goals of the extension service and to the needs of the beneficiaries, in addition to mitigating information asymmetry about the extension activities. However, the implementation of paper diaries requires sensitization of the beneficiaries on the need for verification and feedback. This study is centred around addressing a practical problem of field agents' accountability and results have the potential to improve management of public services such as agricultural extension. Moreover, the findings could also be relevant for all types of organizations and service delivery methods. This study expanded the boundaries of the principal-agent theory by applying it to the accountability of agricultural extension services using paper diaries, which have hitherto not been widely applied. This study advances the debates of accountability and coordination of agricultural extension services by assessing the potential of a paper diary as the literature has to date assessed the potential of electronic diaries. Purpose: This study reviews scholarly work in sustainable green logistics and remanufacturing (SGLR) and their subdisciplines, in combination with bibliometric, thematic and content analyses that provide a viewpoint on categorization and a future research agenda. This paper provides insight into current research trends in the subjects of interest by examining the most essential and most referenced articles promoting sustainability and climate-neutral logistics. Design/methodology/approach: For the literature review, the authors extracted and sifted 2180 research and review papers for the period 2008–2023 from the Scopus database. The authors performed bibliometric and content analyses using multiple software programs such as Gephi, VOSviewer and R programming. Findings: The SGLR papers can be grouped into seven clusters: (1) The circular economy facets; (2) Decarbonization of operations to nurture a climate-neutral business; (3) Green sustainable supply chain management; (4) Drivers and barriers of reverse logistics and the circular economy; (5) Business models for sustainable logistics and the circular economy; (6) Transportation problems in sustainable green logistics and (7) Digitalization of logistics and supply chain management. Practical implications: In this review, fundamental ideas are established, research gaps are identified and multiple future research subjects are proposed. These propositions are categorized into three main research streams, i.e. (1) Digitalization of SGLR, (2) Enhancing scopes, sectors and industries in the context of SGLR and (3) Developing more efficient and effective climate-neutral and climate change-related solutions and promoting more environmental-related and sustainability research concerning SGLR. In addition, two conceptual models concerning SGLR and climate-neutral strategies are developed and presented for managers and practitioners to consider when adopting green and sustainability principles in supply chains. This review also highlights the need for academics to go beyond frameworks and build new techniques and instruments for monitoring SGLR performance in the real world. Since all policies address problems, they necessarily include implicit or explicit constructions of these problems. This paper explores how child maltreatment has been constructed in New Zealand's child protection policies. It questions the underlying assumptions of this problem construction and seeks to shed light on what has been omitted. Utilizing a qualitative content analysis of eight key policy documents, this study reveals the construction of child maltreatment has been dominated primarily by a child-centric, risk-focused approach. This approach assigns blame and shifts responsibilities onto parents and families. In addition, the vulnerability discourse and social investment approach underpinning this perspective have allowed important structural factors, such as poverty and inequality, to remain unaddressed. This paper also highlights the one-dimensional focus on the lower social class to control future liabilities. We suggest that the harm inflicted by corporations on children's well-being is another form of child exploitation currently omitted from the problem construction. We suggest that child abuse should be defined and understood in policy as harm to children's well-being and argue that the state should prevent and mitigate harm by addressing structural forces of the problem as well as protecting children against corporate harms. This study aims to identify why and under what circumstances employees prefer to remain silent. The qualitative method was used to understand the reasons for the employees' silence, for which in-depth interviews were conducted. In this paper, 20 employees of the private sector in Kosovo were interviewed. Of the employees who were interviewed, seven of them are from the production sector, five from the service sector, three from the private education sector, and five from the trade sector. The interview data determined codes and categories, which were analyzed using the content analysis method. The data provided by the interview participants were analyzed through the MAXQDA 2020 qualitative data analysis program. Three categories with 21 codes mentioned in 263 cases were identified during data processing. The results show that the employees' fear of the managers and the management's approach is among the main reasons for the employees' silence. There has been growing interest in research on news-related user comments. Here we conduct the first systematic review of this literature--quantitatively and qualitatively (248 studies)--that covers the entire communication process (content analyses, surveys, experiments). Results indicate a focus on online news articles (vs videos) and little consideration for major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok). Research often assesses incivility in comments but offers conflicting conclusions on the actual level of incivility in comment threads-- and seldom considers how to effectively combat any incivility. We propose four priorities for future work: more comparative and longitudinal approaches; exploring social media and video content; examining platform design, content moderation and artificial intelligence; and implementing measures to reduce incivility and protect the integrity of journalism. Maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah is acknowledged as one of essential foundations in determining shariah rulings. However, some contemporary fatwās continue to be issued that disregard maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, while some groups have also misunderstood it leading to misapplication. This paper will analyze the methodology employed by classical Islamic scholars in establishing the concept and principles of maqāṣid alsharī‘ah. The analysis will compare the methods of determining maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah by Muslim scholars with current scientific research methods. This study utilizes the qualitative methodology by examining classical and modern scholarly writings. The collected data is analyzed thematically based on an inductive approach. Findings of this study demonstrate that formulating maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah concept and principles involves analyzing textual injunctions. The istiqrā’ inductive reasoning applied by Muslim scholars bears similarities with thematic analysis in modern qualitative research. Hence, maqāṣid alsharī‘ah represents the implicit objectives unifying diverse shariah rules. It holds greater epistemic certainty compared to individual scriptural proofs, being supported by multiple textual evidences across various domains of rulings. As the mafhūm (implicit meaning) of the Sharī‘ah corpus, maqāṣid guides ijtihād without compromising fundamental sharī‘ah tenets. Proper application of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah facilitates determining contemporary rulings that fulfill the objectives of sharī‘ah itself. This paper advocates grounding ijtihād and fatwās in maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah through holistic textual analysis. This paper seeks to examine the questions of what criteria definitions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) use to define AI, what the disagreements that revolve around the term AI are based on, and what correlations can be drawn to other parameters. Framed as a problem of classification, a random sample of 45 definitions from various text sources was subjected to a qualitative content analysis. The criteria found are concluded in five dimensions, namely (1) learning ability, (2) human likeness, (3) state of "mind", (4) complexity of the problem, and (5) successfulness. Further, the results support the view that there is no consensus neither on which of these criteria are crucial to define AI nor on how these criteria must be fulfilled. By opposing the frequencies of the dimensions found with the metadata collected, it can be seen that most of these, e.g., country, scientific field, or gender of the author, are statistically independent of content variables, while the medium in which the definition was published shows a strong correlation. Since different mediums target different purposes and different readers, it must be taken into account that writing a definition of AI is to be seen in the context of its distribution area and its goal. Aim: To identify and synthesize empirical evidence on the role of healthcare leaders in the development of equitable clinical academic pathways for nurses. Design: Integrative literature review. Data Sources: Literature was searched using CINAHL, PubMed, ProQuest and Google Scholar databases. Review Methods: A total of 114 eligible articles published between 2010 and2022 were screened, 16 papers were selected. Results: Results highlighted the need for consistent national, regional, and organizational policy approaches to developing clinical academic careers for nurses. Government health departments and National Health boards must focus on increasing engagement in research and evidence‐based nursing practice for high‐quality patient care. Discriminatory practices and attitudes were identified as barriers. Discrimination due to gender was evident, while the impact of race, ethnicity, and other social categories of identity are under‐researched. Educational leaders must unravel misconceptions about research, highlighting its relevance to patient care and bedside nurses' work. Academic leaders together with executive nurses, research funders and professional nursing bodies must create appropriately remunerated career structures. Transformative approaches are required to develop the clinical academic nurse role and understand its value in clinical practice. Conclusion: Multiple elements exist within complex systems that healthcare leaders can navigate collaboratively to develop and implement clinical nurse academic roles. This requires vision, acknowledgement of the value of nursing research and the importance of evidence‐based research infrastructures. Impact: Findings highlight the collaborative role of healthcare leaders as critical to the success of critical academic careers for nurses. Aim: The aim of the study was to understand participants' experiences attending an in‐person or online 1‐day cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)‐based workshop for PPD and compare their experiences participating in either modality. Method: This descriptive qualitative study was embedded in two separate randomized controlled trials evaluating the effectiveness of 1‐day CBT‐based workshops for PPD delivered in‐person or online. Responses were provided by 94 in‐person and 95 online participants about their experiences. Content analysis was used to code and categorize the data. Results: Participants appreciated learning skills to improve PPD symptoms and joining a community of individuals with shared experiences. Integrating practical coping techniques after the workshop was reported to be most useful, though some wanted additional post‐workshop support. Online participants identified additional barriers to workshop engagement. Discussion: Participants who attended either workshop found them to be valuable and effective. Participants valued psychoeducation, social connections and applying practical CBT techniques. Implications for Practice: One‐day CBT‐based workshops may be an accessible treatment option for individuals with PPD, providing new skills and social support, though some prefer to receive additional post‐workshop support. Inclusive education is a fundamental right of all students. Despite international policy initiatives, educational exclusion is pervasive, especially in the Global South, and disproportionately affects disabled students. Barriers to inclusive education have been itemised in the literature, but in this conceptual paper that offers a novel perspective on the topic, we argue for a complexity approach to understand its evolution. Using a qualitative deductive content analysis of South African laws, policies, reports and scholarly literature, we explore three path dependencies from colonial/apartheid times that lock the country into historical patterns of categorisation and segregated schooling. These operate alongside the emergence of new and inclusive practices by actors at a system-wide and local level, made possible by inputs into the policy ecology. South Africa represents a complex, contradictory educational environment that confounds the expectation of linear progression towards greater inclusivity. Instead of identifying barriers to inclusive education, we argue for a nuanced understanding of the imbrications of historical investments and drivers of inequality, with policy possibilities and the impetus for transformation among system actors. In recent years, the growth of social media platforms has led to an increase in the number of influencers who work in/for the fashion industry - these individuals have become attractive marketing partners for fashion brands. As a result, understanding how to measure the performance of fashion influencers (and what kinds of behavior lead to better performance) is paramount. This paper presents a methodology for characterizing fashion influencers' behavior on Instagram. Using a preexisting dataset, we analyze Instagram fashion influencers exploring behavioral patterns, engagement metrics, and content dynamics. Our analyses uncover insights about influencer behavior, gender-based performance, and correlations between engagement metrics and posts' metadata (such as caption sentiment, length, and hashtag usage). Additionally, our research highlights the impact of early engagement and post comments on overall engagement rates, highlighting the role of community interaction. Though focused on Instagram influencers, our proposed methodology could be adapted to diverse datasets and social media platforms. In sum, we present here a preliminary study for understanding and decoding the complex dynamics of fashion influencer culture on social media, offering actionable insights for marketers, brands, aspiring influencers, scholars, and regular social media users. The development of a weighting and aggregating coefficient system used in urban sustainability assessment tools is a process that needs well-defined procedures using a series of steps, methodology, and a systematic approach in its development. The development of assessment tools has been successful in developed countries but developing countries would need to have a structured process that will assist in the development of an assessment tool that is tailored to its environs. This paper aims to understand the various weighting and aggregating coefficient systems employed in the development of sustainability assessment tools. Alongside using these findings to understand how these weighting and aggregating coefficients can be adopted in the development of sustainability assessment tools for developing countries based on their differences, advantages, and disadvantages. Qualitative Content Analysis based on a systematic review of existing literature was used in this study to understand various weighting and aggregating coefficients. It is imperative to note that this research will focus on how assessment tools are developed with a clear focus on sustainability assessment weighting and aggregating. The study also further analyses how a case study SUCCEED (Sustainable Composite Cities Environmental Evaluation and Design Tool) has benefited from the adoption of equal weighting and additive aggregation methods based on validation carried out. The findings of this research show that the selection of weighting and aggregating systems is defined by the relevance, importance, and purpose of the assessment tool. Background: Thermonuclear fusion is a widely discussed approach to energy production. In 2022, Energy Sustain. Soc. published L. Holmlid's paper (Energy Sustain Soc 12:14, 2022, 10.1186/s13705-022-00338-4) containing, in particular, critical statements about the plans for use of the T + D fusion in energy production. An analysis of these and several other statements of L. Holmlid is presented. This analysis complements a similar analysis performed by K. Hansen and J. Engelen (Energy Sustain Soc 13:14, 2023, 10.1186/s13705-023-00403-6). Main text: It is shown that several statements of L. Holmlid about D + T fusion and D + D fusion are mistaken or ungrounded. It is also shown that the statement of L. Holmlid about the products of annihilation of low-energy antiprotons with protons in ultra-dense hydrogen differs strongly from the data on the products of annihilation of stopped antiprotons with protons in liquid hydrogen and with nucleons of the nuclei of elements heavier than hydrogen. Conclusion: The statement "The use of all resources for fusion research on non-sustainable D + T fusion instead of sustainable muon-induced fusion may be a fatal mistake for humanity", made by L. The dominant practice governing sustainability reporting in the private sector is that of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or Environmental Social Governance (ESG) reporting. CSR has its roots in philanthropy and charitable initiatives, while ESG aims to integrate environmental, social, and governance factors into business practices and decision-making. This paper analyses the transition in sustainability worldviews revealed in corporate sustainability reporting from 2016 to 2021. It uses a longitudinal content analysis methodology applied to a sample of ten multinational companies listed on the South African JSE/FTSE top 40 index. The period for the longitudinal study is framed from when the companies started reporting on ESG. The JSE/FTSE was chosen as the companies listed in the top 40 represent 80% of the value on the JSE (JSE 2020). The qualitative content analysis makes use of the five stages of corporate sustainability model to position companies' sustainability reports within these five stages (Landrum & Ohsowski, 2018a). The key finding of this paper is that multinational companies have been slow to transition their sustainability reporting practices. The current reports reflect a business-as-usual mindset that is driven by compliance with reporting regulations. This paper examines the mechanisms of differentiated discursive disciplining for immigrants of different religious backgrounds in the French media. Based on a sample of 120 articles on immigration in the French mainstream media, textual analyses and comparisons were conducted. Results show that influenced by religious factors, the French media use secularism as a tool to portray completely different images of immigrants through different discursive logics. Muslim immigrants present a paradoxically biased negative image in the French media discourse as a collection of invaders and the disciplined. In contrast, the media image of Ukrainian immigrants of Orthodox Christian background is positive on the whole, with a certain degree of deliberateness in the details of its construction. The difference in the symbolic characterization between Catholicism and Islam enables the exclusionary media discourse against Muslim immigrants. The paper also discusses French media discourse flaws and policy dilemmas. The logic of French media discourse is paradoxical in its inability to maintain an intact secularist identification and to effectively influence political issues to the detriment of promoting immigrant integration. Purpose: This paper aims to focus on the issue of high employee turnover in the Indian tech industry. An integrative review is conducted to analyse the past and current state of literature, as well as prepare a research agenda for future studies. Design/methodology/approach: A pool of 72 articles published between 2010 and 2022 is reviewed with a special focus on Indian tech employees. This study elucidates the extent and impact of employee retention strategies through content analysis. Findings: Two broad perspectives have been established in the literature: the reasons for quitting and the explanations for staying. By means of a comprehensive review, this paper combines these two aspects of literature and suggests factors under organization's control to retain competent tech employees. Originality/value: The study is designed to integrate the two theoretical viewpoints of employee turnover literature by consolidating the reasons behind quitting behaviour and staying intention. Purpose: This paper aims to provide a focused review of international business (IB) literature on research and development (R&D) internationalization, assessing the progress and proposing future research directions. Design/methodology/approach: Total 167 peer-reviewed articles from IB journals (following the ABS list 2021 from 4* to 2) published between 1996 and 2022 are critically reviewed using a science-mapping approach. This paper used Bibliometrix R-package to analyze the retrieved bibliometric data. Additionally, a strategic diagram was developed to comprehend the maturity stage of various R&D internationalization concepts. Findings: Most studies on R&D internationalization are influenced by perspectives from advanced-economy multinational enterprises (AMNEs), while perspectives from emerging-economy multinational enterprises (EMNEs) are underrepresented. Considering the characteristics of emerging economies, firms from these locations might embark on and develop their R&D internationalization strategies differently. Investigating the emerging economy perspectives will enrich the understanding of R&D internationalization strategies for both AMNEs and EMNEs. Additionally, bringing different underutilized theoretical perspectives will help to untangle the anomalies observed in extant literature. Originality/value: This paper is among the few to scrutinize the IB literature on R&D internationalization by applying a unique combination of bibliometric techniques and a content analysis approach. Purpose: This study aims to systematically review various behavioral biases that impact an investor's decision-making process. The prime objective of this paper is to thematically explore the behavioral bias literature and propose a comprehensive framework that can elucidate a more reasonable explanation of changes in financial markets and investors' behavior. Design/methodology/approach: Systematic literature review (SLR) methodology is applied to a portfolio of 71 peer-reviewed articles collected from different electronic databases between 2007 and 2021. Content analysis of the extant literature is performed to identify the research themes and existing gaps in the literature. Findings: This research identifies publication trends of the behavioral biases literature and uncovers 24 different biases that impact individual investors' decision-making. Through thematic analysis, an attribute–consequence–impact framework is proposed that explains different biases leading to individual investors' irrationality. The study further proposes directions for future research by applying the theory–characteristics–context–methodology framework. Research limitations/implications: The results of this research will help scholars and practitioners in understanding the existence of various behavioral biases and assist them in identifying potential strategies which can evade the negative effects of these biases. The findings will further help the financial service providers to understand these biases and improve the landscape of financial services. Originality/value: The essence of the current paper is the application of the SLR method on 24 biases in the area of behavioral finance. News websites and databases have changed over the last 20 years, yet little is known about the type of news content studied and how the ways researchers access content have evolved. This paper aims to identify trends in news analysis studies by examining 216 print and online news analyses published in journalism and mass communication studies journals by U.S. authors between 2002 and 2020. Each publication was coded for their methodological attributes. Findings show most studies analyze text articles. Subscription-based news aggregator databases like LexisNexis, NewsBank/Access World News, ProQuest, and Factiva are the most popular resources to access news content, and there has been a statistically significant increase in the use of news websites and public databases. Division I college athletes are faced with numerous academic challenges during their time in school, including conflicts of interest between the university (e.g., academic success), athletic department (e.g., athletic success), and their own priorities (e.g., quality of life, balancing academic and athletic success). These growing demands may impact student-athletes' ability to prepare for a career after sport. Thus, there is a need for high-quality student-athlete career development programming and services in student-athlete support centers. The purpose of this study was to gain senior administrators' perspectives of student-athlete support services to determine best practices of career development programming. Division I administrators (N = 10), who oversee student-athlete support centers, provided insight and feedback via semi-structured interviews. A directed qualitative content analysis was conducted to discern best practices, levels of student-athlete engagement, and preferred attributes of career development personnel. The findings provide specific recommendations, which can help other student-athlete career development personnel improve their programs and adds to the holistic care literature. Although there is previous research on textual analysis in accounting, little is understood about the effects of the tone and sentiments of the text disclosed in annual report filings (10-K) on the investor assessment of the future performance of the firm. This study inks the tone and sentiments of the text disclosed in the corporate annual reports and expectations regarding the future performance of the firm. We focus on two specific sections of 10-K filings the risk factor disclosures (Item 1A) and the management's discussion (Item 7) filling a gap in the accounting literature. There are two competing predictions regarding how the tone and sentiments of the text could impact the investor assessment about the future performance of the firm. First, the tone and sentiments of the text in Items 1A and 7 may have an effect on the investor assessment of the future performance of the firm. Second, only the tone and sentiments of Item 7 may have an effect on the investor assessment, given the fact that Item 1A only discusses the general risk factors that are present and not necessarily any specific risk factors to the firm. We find that only the tone and sentiments of the text in Item 7 has an effect on the investor assessment of the firm. From open-source software for collection management to open access initiatives for public reuse, the museum community is experiencing an ongoing transformation in what the concept of openness truly means. Adopting the social construction of technology as a theoretical framework and analytical method, this study investigates the changing attitudes and practices among museum professionals, especially how the intellectual precepts of the "new museology" have influenced the conceptualisation and operationalisation of openness. Methodologically, this study explores the archive of the Museums and the Web conference and conducts a qualitative content analysis of papers presented between 1997 and 2020 related to the topic of openness. By identifying and comparing how these papers discussed open-oriented practices, this study demonstrates how museum professionals have socially constructed the changing meanings of openness in the past twenty years and provides empirical evidence about how the new museology discourse has been realised in practice. This paper advocates for a reading of John Scottus Eriugena's Carmina that situates his collection of poems within the genre of devotional poetry. Although the Carmina has recently benefited from scholarship on Eriugena's theology, typologies of his poems consistently overlook the significance of their theological themes. Most instead attribute more significance to their political themes, since Charles the Bald commissioned many of Eriugena's poems for special occasions at his royal court. This paper argues that a textual analysis which compares the significance of theological and political themes in the Carmina reveals several reasons why Eriugena's poems should be read as devotional poetry. First, it explains how typologies of Eriugena's poems overlook the significance of their theological themes by overstating the significance of Charles and his royal court. In a wide area environment, leveraging a unified interface for the management of diverse databases is appealing. Nonetheless, variations in access and operation across heterogeneous databases pose challenges in abstracting a unified access model while preserving specific database operations. Simultaneously, intricate deployment and network conditions in wide-area environments create obstacles for forwarding database requests and achieving high-performance access. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a technology for unified access to heterogeneous databases in wide-area environments, termed Global Virtual Data Space SQL (GvdsSQL). Initially, this paper implements a unified data access mechanism for heterogeneous databases through metadata extraction, abstracts the unified access model, and accomplishes identification and forwarding of fundamental database operations. Secondly, the paper introduces a mechanism for expanding database operations through code generation. This mechanism achieves compatibility for special database operations by injecting rules to generate code. Lastly, this paper implements a multilevel caching mechanism for query results in wide-area databases utilizing semantic analysis. Through intelligent analysis of operation statements, it achieves precise management of cache items, enhancing wide-area access performance. Aim: To summarise, interpret and synthesize research findings on patients' and nurses' experiences of caring in nursing across clinical practices. Background: Caring is a universal element of nursing; however, economic restrictions often negatively impact health services, and time shortages and limited numbers of staff may characterize care encounters. It is unclear how these contextual conditions affect patients' and nurses' experiences of caring. Design and Methods: This integrative literature review covers papers published between 2000 and 2022. Four databases—PubMed, PsycINFO (via Ovid), MEDLINE (via Ovid) and CINAHL (via EBSCO)—were systematically searched for eligible papers in May 2022. The included studies were critically appraised. Content analysis was performed to interpret and synthesize the findings. In accordance with the EQUATOR guidelines, the PRISMA 2020 and PRISMA‐S checklists were used. An Integrative review methodology guided the process. Findings: In total, 33 studies were included in the review. Three themes captured the experiences of caring in nursing: (1) the complexity of the nursing care context, (2) the professionalism of the nurse, and (3) the trusting patient–nurse relationship. Conclusion: The experience of caring in nursing depended on nurses' competence and discretion in the personal encounter framed by the nursing context. The caring relationship was based on reciprocity, but it remains asymmetrical, as the nurse had the power and responsibility to empower the patient. Barriers, such as increased demands for efficiency and resource scarcity, may hinder the experience of caring in nursing. Implications for the profession and patient care: By promoting an ongoing discussion of caring in nursing, nurse management can systematically support nurses in reflecting on their practice in diverse and complex clinical contexts. Over the last decade, research on evolving computational thinking (CT) has garnered heightened attention. Assessing the publication tendencies and nucleus contents of investigations on progressing CT to direct future research initiatives, develop policies, and integrate them into instructional materials is timely and exceedingly essential in education. Therefore, this research reviewed publications on progressing CT to identify research trends and core contents published in the Scopus database from 2008 to May 2022. For this reason, this study applied bibliometric and content analysis to 132 selected publications. After examining bibliometrics, the findings indicate a steady increase in publications related to game-based learning (GBL) and CT, reaching a peak in 2021, with the United States emerging as the most prolific contributor in terms of authors, institutions, and countries). The leading country in citations is primarily China. The document that received the most citations is Hsu's 2018 paper on "Computers and Education". Analysis of keywords and themes reveals core content tendencies, emphasizing teaching methods and attitudes aimed at improving CT via GBL. These results offer valuable insights for researchers and educators to inform their future work. However, future studies may benefit from including other databases such as Web of Science (WoS) and PubMed, employing alternative bibliometric software like VOSviewer or CiteSpace, as well as collecting data from June 2022.
