This review analyzes the most influential artificial intelligence (AI) studies in health and life sciences from the past three years, delineating the evolving role of AI in these fields. We identified and analyzed the top 50 cited articles on AI in biomedicine, revealing significant trends and thematic categorizations, including Drug Development, Real-World Clinical Implementation, and Ethical and Regulatory Aspects, among others. Our findings highlight a predominant focus on AIs application in clinical settings, particularly in diagnostics, telemedicine, and medical education, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The emergence of AlphaFold marked a pivotal moment in protein structure prediction, catalyzing a cascade of related research and signifying a broader shift towards AI-driven approaches in biological research. The review underscores AIs pivotal role in disease subtyping and patient stratification, facilitating a transition towards more personalized medicine strategies. Furthermore, it illustrates AIs impact on biology, particularly in parsing complex genomic and proteomic data, enhancing our capabilities to disentangle complex, interconnected molecular processes. As AI continues to permeate the health and life sciences, balancing its rapid technological advancements with ethical stewardship and regulatory vigilance will be crucial for its sustainable and effective integration into healthcare and research. Religion-based AI chatbots serve religious practitioners by bringing them godly wisdom through technology. These bots reply to spiritual and worldly questions by drawing insights or citing verses from the Quran, the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Torah, or other holy books. They answer religious and theological queries by claiming to offer historical contexts and providing guidance and counseling to their users. A criticism of these bots is that they may give inaccurate answers and proliferate bias by propagating homogenized versions of the religions they represent. These "embodied spiritual machines" may likewise bear bias against women, their gender, and their societal roles. This paper crafts a concept intended to address this GPT issue by reimagining, modifying, and implementing a feminist approach to these chatbots. It examines the concepts and designs of these bots and how they address women-related questions. It is the contention of this paper that ethics of work ought to be anthropological, and artificial intelligence (AI) research and development, which is the focus of work today, should be anthropological, that is, human-centered. This paper discusses the philosophical and theological implications of the development of AI research on the intrinsic nature of work and the nature of the human person. AI research and the implications of its development and advancement, being a relatively new phenomenon, have not been comprehensively interrogated in the social and ethical teachings of the Catholic Church. This paper, therefore, proposes a path for this interrogation by expounding a discourse which is believed to be epistemically helpful in the developing discourse of AI in the ethical and social teachings of the Church. Fake news is an explosive subject, being undoubtedly among the most controversial and difficult challenges facing society in the present-day environment of technology and information, which greatly affects the individuals who are vulnerable and easily influenced, shaping their decisions, actions, and even beliefs. In the course of discussing the gravity and dissemination of the fake news phenomenon, this article aims to clarify the distinctions between fake news, misinformation, and disinformation, along with conducting a thorough analysis of the most widely read academic papers that have tackled the topic of fake news research using various machine learning techniques. Utilizing specific keywords for dataset extraction from Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science Core Collection, the bibliometric analysis spans six years, offering valuable insights aimed at identifying key trends, methodologies, and notable strategies within this multidisciplinary field. The analysis encompasses the examination of prolific authors, prominent journals, collaborative efforts, prior publications, covered subjects, keywords, bigrams, trigrams, theme maps, co-occurrence networks, and various other relevant topics. One noteworthy aspect related to the extracted dataset is the remarkable growth rate observed in association with the analyzed subject, indicating an impressive increase of 179.31%. The growth rate value, coupled with the relatively short timeframe, further emphasizes the research community's keen interest in this subject. Background: This paper examines scientific papers in the field of digital twins to explore the different areas of application in supply chains. Methods: Using a machine learning-based topic modeling approach, this study aims to provide insights into the key areas of supply chain management that benefit from digital twin capabilities. Results: The research findings highlight key priorities in the areas of infrastructure, construction, business, technology, manufacturing, blockchain, and agriculture, providing a comprehensive perspective. Conclusions: Our research findings confirm several recommendations. First, the machine learning-based model identifies new areas that are not addressed in the human review results. Second, while the human review results put more emphasis on practicality, such as management activities, processes, and methods, the machine learning results pay more attention to macro perspectives, such as infrastructure, technology, and business. Third, the machine learning-based model is able to extract more granular information; for example, it identifies core technologies beyond digital twins, including AI/reinforcement learning, picking robots, cybersecurity, 5G networks, the physical internet, additive manufacturing, and cloud manufacturing. Aiming at the problems of target detection models in traffic scenarios including a large number of parameters, heavy computational burden, and high application cost, this paper introduces an enhanced lightweight real-time detection algorithm, which exhibits higher detection speed and accuracy for vehicle detection. This paper considers the YOLOv7 algorithm as the benchmark model, designs a lightweight backbone network, and uses the MobileNetV3 lightweight network to extract target features. Inspired by the structure of SPPF, the spatial pyramid pooling module is reconfigured by incorporating GSConv, and a lightweight SPPFCSPC-GS module is designed, aiming to minimize the quantity of model parameters and enhance the training speed even further. Furthermore, the CA mechanism is integrated to enhance the feature extraction capability of the model. Finally, the MPDIoU loss function is utilized to optimize the model's training process. Experiments showcase that the refined YOLOv7 algorithm can achieve 98.2% mAP on the BIT-Vehicle dataset with 52.8% fewer model parameters than the original model and a 35.2% improvement in FPS. As data-driven models gain importance in driving decisions and processes, recently, it has become increasingly important to visualize the data with both speed and accuracy. A massive volume of data is presently generated in the educational sphere from various learning platforms, tools, and institutions. The visual analytics of educational big data has the capability to improve student learning, develop strategies for personalized learning, and improve faculty productivity. However, there are limited advancements in the education domain for data-driven decision making leveraging the recent advancements in the field of machine learning. Some of the recent tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Azure suite, Sisense, etc., leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to visualize data and generate insights from them; however, their applicability in educational advances is limited. This paper focuses on leveraging machine learning and visualization techniques to demonstrate their utility through a practical implementation using K-12 state assessment data compiled from the institutional websites of the States of Texas and Louisiana. Effective modeling and predictive analytics are the focus of the sample use case presented in this research. Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic brain disorder affecting millions worldwide. It occurs when brain cells that produce dopamine, a chemical controlling movement, die or become damaged. This leads to PD, which causes problems with movement, balance, and posture. Early detection is crucial to slow its progression and improve the quality of life for PD patients. This paper proposes a handwriting-based prediction approach combining a cosine annealing scheduler with deep transfer learning. It utilizes the NIATS dataset, which contains handwriting samples from individuals with and without PD, to evaluate six different models: VGG16, VGG19, ResNet18, ResNet50, ResNet101, and Vit. This paper compares the performance of these models based on three metrics: accuracy, precision, and F1 score. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are increasingly being applied to the shipping industry to advance its development. In this study, 476 articles published in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) of the Web of Science Core Collection from 2001 to 2022 were collected, and bibliometric methods were applied to conduct a systematic literature of the field of AI technology applications in the shipping industry. The review commences with an annual publication trend analysis, which shows that research in the field has been growing rapidly in recent years. This is followed by a statistical analysis of journals and a collaborative network analysis to identify the most productive journals, countries, institutions, and authors. The keyword "co-occurrence analysis" is then utilized to identify major research clusters, as well as hot research directions in the field, providing directions for future research in the field. Finally, based on the results of the keyword co-occurrence analysis and the content analysis of the papers published in recent years, the research gaps in AIS data applications, ship trajectory, and anomaly detection, as well as the possible future research directions, are discussed. The findings indicate that AIS data in the future research direction are mainly reflected in the analysis of ship behavior and AIS data repair. Ship trajectory in the future research direction is mainly reflected in the deep learning-based method research and the discussion of ship trajectory classification. Anomaly detection in the future research direction is mainly reflected in the application of deep learning technology in ship anomaly detection and improving the efficiency of ship anomaly detection. These insights offer guidance for researchers' future investigations in this area. This paper proposes an ontology for prognostics and health management (PHM) applications involving sensor networks monitoring industrial machinery. Deep learning methods show promise for the development of autonomous PHM systems but require vast quantities of structured and representative data to realize their potential. PHM systems involve unique and specialized data characterized by time and context, and thus benefit from tailored data management systems. Furthermore, the use of dissimilar standards and practices with respect to database structure and data organization is a hinderance to interoperability. To address this, this paper presents a robust, structured data ontology and schema that is designed to accommodate a wide breadth of PHM applications. The inclusion of contextual and temporal data increases its value for developing and deploying enhanced ML-driven PHM systems. Challenges around balancing the competing priorities of structure and flexibility are discussed. The proposed schema provides the benefits of a relational schema with some provisions for noSQL-like flexibility in areas where PMH applications demand it. The selection of a database engine for implementation is also discussed, and the proposed ontology is demonstrated using a Postgres database. An instance of the database was loaded with large auto-generated fictitious data via multiple Python scripts. The digitization of distribution power systems has revolutionized the way data are collected and analyzed. In this paper, the critical task of harnessing this information to identify irregularities and anomalies in electricity consumption is tackled. The focus is on detecting non-technical losses (NTLs) and energy theft within distribution networks. A comprehensive overview of the methodologies employed to uncover NTLs and energy theft is presented, leveraging measurements of electricity consumption. The most common scenarios and prevalent cases of anomalies and theft among consumers are identified. Additionally, statistical indicators tailored to specific anomalies are proposed. In this research paper, the practical implementation of numerous artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, including the artificial neural network (ANN), ANFIS, autoencoder neural network, and K-mean clustering, is highlighted. These algorithms play a central role in our research, and our primary objective is to showcase their effectiveness in identifying NTLs. Real-world data sourced directly from distribution networks are utilized. Additionally, we carefully assess how well statistical methods work and compare them to AI techniques by testing them with real data. The artificial neural network (ANN) accurately identifies various consumer types, exhibiting a frequency error of 7.62%. In contrast, the K-means algorithm shows a slightly higher frequency error of 9.26%, while the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) fails to detect the initial anomaly type, resulting in a frequency error of 11.11%. Our research suggests that AI can make finding irregularities in electricity consumption even more effective. This paper contributes to the development of a Next Generation First Responder (NGFR) communication platform with the key goal of embedding it into a smart city technology infrastructure. The framework of this approach is a concept known as SmartHub, developed by the US Department of Homeland Security. The proposed embedding methodology complies with the standard categories and indicators of smart city performance. This paper offers two practice-centered extensions of the NGFR hub, which are also the main results: first, a cognitive workload monitoring of first responders as a basis for their performance assessment, monitoring, and improvement; and second, a highly sensitive problem of human society, the emergency assistance tools for individuals with disabilities. Both extensions explore various technological-societal dimensions of smart cities, including interoperability, standardization, and accessibility to assistive technologies for people with disabilities. Regarding cognitive workload monitoring, the core result is a novel AI formalism, an ensemble of machine learning processes aggregated using machine reasoning. This ensemble enables predictive situation assessment and self-aware computing, which is the basis of the digital twin concept. We experimentally demonstrate a specific component of a digital twin of an NGFR, a near-real-time monitoring of the NGFR cognitive workload. Regarding our second result, a problem of emergency assistance for individuals with disabilities that originated as accessibility to assistive technologies to promote disability inclusion, we provide the NGFR specification focusing on interactions based on AI formalism and using a unified hub platform. This paper also discusses a technology roadmap using the notion of the Emergency Management Cycle (EMC), a commonly accepted doctrine for managing disasters through the steps of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. On a global scale, food safety and security aspects entail consideration throughout the farm-to-fork continuum, considering food's supply chain. Generally, the agrifood system is a multiplex network of interconnected features and processes, with a hard predictive rate, where maintaining the food's safety is an indispensable element and is part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It has led the scientific community to develop advanced applied analytical methods, such as machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) techniques applied for assessing foodborne diseases. The main objective of this paper is to contribute to the development of the consensus version of ongoing research about the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the domain of food-crop safety from an analytical point of view. Writing a comprehensive review for a more specific topic can also be challenging, especially when searching within the literature. To our knowledge, this review is the first to address this issue. This work consisted of conducting a unique and exhaustive study of the literature, using our TriScope Keywords-based Synthesis methodology. All available literature related to our topic was investigated according to our criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The final count of data papers was subject to deep reading and analysis to extract the necessary information to answer our research questions. Implementing the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) business excellence model in organizations is time- and cost-consuming. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the EFQM business excellence model is a promising approach to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of excellence in organizations. This research paper's integrated framework follows the ISO/IEC 23053 standard in addressing some of the concerns related to time and cost associated with the EFQM model, achieving higher EFQM scores, and hence operational excellence. A case study involving a UAE government organization serves as a sample to train the AI framework. Historical EFQM results from different years are used as training data. The AI framework utilizes the unsupervised machine learning technique known as k-means clustering. This technique follows the ISO/IEC 23053 standard to predict EFQM output total scores based on criteria and sub-criteria inputs. This research paper's main output is a novel AI framework that can predict EFQM scores for organizations at an early stage. If the predicted EFQM score is not high enough, then the AI framework provides feedback to decision makers regarding the criteria that need reconsideration. Continuous use of this integrated framework helps organizations attain operational excellence. This framework is considered valuable for decision makers as it provides early predictions of EFQM total scores and identifies areas that require improvement before officially applying for the EFQM excellence award, hence saving time and cost. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly growing network that shares information over the Internet via interconnected devices. In addition, this network has led to new security challenges in recent years. One of the biggest challenges is the impact of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on the IoT. The Information-Centric Network (ICN) infrastructure is a critical component of the IoT. The ICN has gained recognition as a promising networking solution for the IoT by supporting IoT devices to be able to communicate and exchange data with each other over the Internet. Moreover, the ICN provides easy access and straightforward security to IoT content. However, the integration of IoT devices into the ICN introduces new security challenges, particularly in the form of DoS attacks. These attacks aim to disrupt or disable the normal operation of the ICN, potentially leading to severe consequences for IoT applications. Machine learning (ML) is a powerful technology. This paper proposes a new approach for developing a robust and efficient solution for detecting DoS attacks in ICN-IoT networks using ML technology. ML is a subset of artificial intelligence (AI) that focuses on the development of algorithms. While several ML algorithms have been explored in the literature, including neural networks, decision trees (DTs), clustering algorithms, XGBoost, J48, multilayer perceptron (MLP) with backpropagation (BP), deep neural networks (DNNs), MLP-BP, RBF-PSO, RBF-JAYA, and RBF-TLBO, researchers compare these detection approaches using classification metrics such as accuracy. This classification metric indicates that SVM, RF, and KNN demonstrate superior performance compared to other alternatives. The proposed approach was carried out on the NDN architecture because, based on our findings, it is the most used one and has a high percentage of various types of cyberattacks. Pedigree charts remain essential in oncological genetic counseling for identifying individuals with an increased risk of developing hereditary tumors. However, this valuable data source often remains confined to paper files, going unused. We propose a computer-aided detection/diagnosis system, based on machine learning and deep learning techniques, capable of the following: (1) assisting genetic oncologists in digitizing paper-based pedigree charts, and in generating new digital ones, and (2) automatically predicting the genetic predisposition risk directly from these digital pedigree charts. To the best of our knowledge, there are no similar studies in the current literature, and consequently, no utilization of software based on artificial intelligence on pedigree charts has been made public yet. By incorporating medical images and other data from omics sciences, there is also a fertile ground for training additional artificial intelligence systems, broadening the software predictive capabilities. We plan to bridge the gap between scientific advancements and practical implementation by modernizing and enhancing existing oncological genetic counseling services. This would mark the pioneering development of an AI-based application designed to enhance various aspects of genetic counseling, leading to improved patient care and advancements in the field of oncogenetics. This paper is on the autonomous detection of humans in off-limits mountains. In off-limits mountains, a human rarely exists, thus human detection is an extremely rare event. Due to the advances in artificial intelligence, object detection–classification algorithms based on a Convolution Neural Network (CNN) can be used for this application. However, considering off-limits mountains, there should be no person in general. Thus, it is not desirable to run object detection–classification algorithms continuously, since they are computationally heavy. This paper addresses a time-efficient human detector system, based on both motion detection and object classification. The proposed scheme is to run a motion detection algorithm from time to time. In the camera image, we define a feasible human space where a human can appear. Once motion is detected inside the feasible human space, one enables the object classification, only inside the bounding box where motion is detected. Since motion detection inside the feasible human space runs much faster than an object detection–classification method, the proposed approach is suitable for real-time human detection with low computational loads. As far as we know, no paper in the literature used the feasible human space, as in our paper. The outperformance of our human detector system is verified by comparing it with other state-of-the-art object detection–classification algorithms (HOG detector, YOLOv7 and YOLOv7-tiny) under experiments. This paper demonstrates that the accuracy of the proposed human detector system is comparable to other state-of-the-art algorithms, while outperforming in computational speed. Scaled agile development approaches are now used widely in modern software engineering, allowing businesses to improve teamwork, productivity, and product quality. The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) into scaled agile development methods (SADMs) has emerged as a potential strategy in response to the ongoing demand for simplified procedures and the increasing complexity of software projects. This paper explores the intersection of AI-driven assistants within the context of the scaled agile framework (SAFe) for large-scale software development, as it stands out as the most widely adopted framework. Our paper pursues three principal objectives: (1) an evaluation of the challenges and impediments encountered by organizations during the implementation of SADMs, (2) an assessment of the potential advantages stemming from the incorporation of AI in large-scale contexts, and (3) the compilation of aspects of SADMs that AI-driven assistants enhance. Through a comprehensive systematic literature review, we identified and described 18 distinct challenges that organizations confront. In the course of our research, we pinpointed seven benefits and five challenges associated with the implementation of AI in SADMs. These findings were systematically categorized based on their occurrence either within the development phase or the phases encompassing planning and control. Furthermore, we compiled a list of 15 different AI-driven assistants and tools, subjecting them to a more detailed examination, and employing them to address the challenges we uncovered during our research. Objective: This paper explores machine learning methods for exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (EILO) diagnostics. Traditional diagnostic approaches like CLE scoring face subjectivity, limiting precise objective assessments. Methods: A narrative review was conducted to explore the integration of machine learning techniques in the diagnostics of EILO. The introduction of fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks leads to an increase in energy consumption and higher operational costs for mobile network operators (MNOs). Consequently, the optimization of 5G networks' energy efficiency is crucial, both in terms of reducing MNO costs and in terms of the negative environmental impact. However, many aspects of the 5G mobile network technology itself have been standardized, including the 5G network slicing concept. This enables the creation of multiple independent logical 5G networks within the same physical infrastructure. Since the only necessary resources in 5G networks need to be used for the realization of a specific 5G network slice, the question of whether the implementation of 5G network slicing can contribute to the improvement of 5G and future sixth-generation networks' energy efficiency arises. To tackle this question, this review paper analyzes 5G network slicing and the energy demand of different network slicing use cases and mobile virtual network operator realizations based on network slicing. The paper also overviews standardized key performance indicators for the assessment of 5G network slices' energy efficiency and discusses energy efficiency in 5G network slicing lifecycle management. In particular, to show how efficient network slicing can optimize the energy consumption of 5G networks, versatile 5G network slicing use case scenarios, approaches, and resource allocation concepts in the space, time, and frequency domains have been discussed, including artificial intelligence-based implementations of network slicing. In the current context of carbon neutrality, afforestation is an effective means of absorbing carbon dioxide. Stock can be used not only as an economic value index of forest wood resources but also as an important index of biomass and carbon storage estimation in forest emission reduction project evaluation. In this paper, we propose a data-driven machine learning framework and method for predicting plantation stock based on airborne LiDAR + satellite remote sensing, and carried out experimental verification at the site of the National Forest emission reduction project in Southern China. We used step-up regression and random forest (RF) to screen LiDAR and Landsat 8 OLI multispectral indicators suitable for the prediction of plantation stock, and constructed a plantation stock model based on machine learning (support vector machine regression, RF regression). Our method is compared with traditional statistical methods (stepwise regression and partial least squares regression). Through the verification of 57 plantation field survey data, the accuracy of the stand estimation model constructed using the RF method is generally better (ΔR2 = 0.01~0.27, ΔRMSE = 1.88~13.77 m3·hm−2, ΔMAE = 1.17~13.57 m3·hm−2). The model evaluation accuracy based on machine learning is higher than that of the traditional statistical method, and the fitting R2 is greater than 0.91, while the fitting R2 of the traditional statistical method is 0.85. The best fitting models were all support vector regression models. The combination of UAV point clouds and satellite multi-spectral images has the best modeling effect, followed by LiDAR point clouds and Landsat 8. At present, this method is only applicable to artificial forests; further verification is needed for natural forests. In the future, the density and quality of higher clouds could be increased. The validity and accuracy of the method were further verified. This paper provides a method for predicting the accumulation of typical Chinese plantations at the forest farm scale based on the "airborne LiDAR + satellite remote sensing" data-driven machine learning modeling, which has potential application value for the current carbon neutrality goal of the southern plantation forest emission reduction project. Federated learning has been a hot topic in the field of artificial intelligence in recent years due to its distributed nature and emphasis on privacy protection. To better align with real-world scenarios, federated class incremental learning (FCIL) has emerged as a new research trend, but it faces challenges such as heterogeneous data, catastrophic forgetting, and inter-client interference. However, most existing methods enhance model performance at the expense of privacy, such as uploading prototypes or samples, which violates the basic principle of only transmitting models in federated learning. This paper presents a novel selective knowledge fusion (FedSKF) model to address data heterogeneity and inter-client interference without sacrificing any privacy. Specifically, this paper introduces a PIT (projection in turn) module on the server side to indirectly recover client data distribution information through optimal transport. Subsequently, to reduce inter-client interference, knowledge of the global model is selectively absorbed via knowledge distillation and an incomplete synchronization classifier at the client side, namely an SKS (selective knowledge synchronization) module. Furthermore, to mitigate global catastrophic forgetting, a global forgetting loss is proposed to distill knowledge from the old global model. Our framework can easily integrate various CIL methods, allowing it to adapt to application scenarios with varying privacy requirements. The implementation of smart technologies in the tourism industry has become a new trend. This is aimed at enriching tourists' experiences and improving their satisfaction. The purpose of the present paper is to enhance tourists' experiences and to increase tourists' satisfaction using smart technologies and to identify experts' perspectives regarding the use of these technologies. This research was conducted using quantitative and qualitative research. In the process of data collection, the research involved a questionnaire which focused on tourists' experiences with various smart technologies and their intentions to return to the visited region. An exploratory factor analysis was applied to determine the elements of satisfaction and their attribute levels in different Romanian touristic regions. This study employed an analysis of variance to determine whether groups with different reasons for visiting exhibit varying levels of satisfaction and whether the touristic regions under investigation generate differing levels of satisfaction. Cross-tabulation and a Pearson's chi-square test were used to determine whether the tourists' segment influenced their intention to revisit specific regions. The research was augmented using qualitative research based on the Delphi technique to identify experts' opinion on the impact of smart tourism technologies on the Romanian tourism industry. This study presents a global perspective on the current situation of smart technologies in the Romanian tourism sector. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between tourists' satisfaction and their perception of the value of smart technologies. The use of smart technologies has a positive impact on the experiences of tourists during all phases of their journey. Romania's tourism capabilities can support the development of smart and sustainable tourism. Smart technologies have a double role in the tourism industry. They can enhance satisfaction by introducing new experiences while also improving the operational efficiency and sustainability of tourist destinations. Herein, we examined the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) as new fronts in addressing some of the pertinent challenges posed by food integrity to human and animal health. In recent times, AI and ML, along with other Industry 4.0 technologies such as big data, blockchain, virtual reality, and the internet of things (IoT), have found profound applications within nearly all dimensions of the food industry with a key focus on enhancing food safety and quality and improving the resilience of the food supply chain. This paper provides an accessible scrutiny of these technologies (in particular, AI and ML) in relation to food integrity and gives a summary of their current advancements and applications within the field. Key areas of emphasis include the application of AI and ML in quality control and inspection, food fraud detection, process control, risk assessments, prediction, and management, and supply chain traceability, amongst other critical issues addressed. Based on the literature reviewed herein, the utilization of AI and ML in the food industry has unequivocally led to improved standards of food integrity and consequently enhanced public health and consumer trust, as well as boosting the resilience of the food supply chain. In elite sports, athletic excellence demands meticulous performance preparation and a sound health status. This paper overviews the current propositions and applications of pervasive computing and data analytics and our vision on how they should be used in future frameworks to contribute to the optimal balance of athletes' performance and health requirements. Two main areas will be discussed. The first area is Sports Performance Optimization, in which we consider interesting recent advancements in data analytics for performance improvement, equipment design, and team member recruitment and selection. We will also briefly discuss how the betting industry has been relaying and developing sports analytics. The second area is Athlete's Wellness and Wellbeing, which will discuss how wearables and data analytics have been used to assess physical activity and sedentary behavior profiles, sleep and circadian rhythm, nutrition and eating behavior, menstrual cycles, and training/performance readiness. In the final part of this paper, we argue that a critical issue for managers to enhance their decision making is the standardization of acquired information and decision-making processes, while introducing an adaptable, personalized approach. Forecasting the generation of solar power plants (SPPs) requires taking into account meteorological parameters that influence the difference between the solar irradiance at the top of the atmosphere calculated with high accuracy and the solar irradiance at the tilted plane of the solar panel on the Earth's surface. One of the key factors is cloudiness, which can be presented not only as a percentage of the sky area covered by clouds but also many additional parameters, such as the type of clouds, the distribution of clouds across atmospheric layers, and their height. The use of machine learning algorithms to forecast the generation of solar power plants requires retrospective data over a long period and formalising the features; however, retrospective data with detailed information about cloudiness are normally recorded in the natural language format. This paper proposes an algorithm for processing such records to convert them into a binary feature vector. Experiments conducted on data from a real solar power plant showed that this algorithm increases the accuracy of short-term solar irradiance forecasts by 5–15%, depending on the quality metric used. At the same time, adding features makes the model less transparent to the user, which is a significant drawback from the point of view of explainable artificial intelligence. Therefore, the paper uses an additive explanation algorithm based on the Shapley vector to interpret the model's output. It is shown that this approach allows the machine learning model to explain why it generates a particular forecast, which will provide a greater level of trust in intelligent information systems in the power industry. Diseases of tomato leaves can seriously damage crop yield and financial rewards. The timely and accurate detection of tomato diseases is a major challenge in agriculture. Hence, the early and accurate diagnosis of tomato diseases is crucial. The emergence of deep learning has dramatically helped in plant disease detection. However, the accuracy of deep learning models largely depends on the quantity and quality of training data. To solve the inter-class imbalance problem and improve the generalization ability of the classification model, this paper proposes a cycle-consistent generative-adversarial-network-based Transformer model to generate diseased tomato leaf images for data augmentation. In addition, this paper uses a Transformer model and densely connected CNN architecture to extract multilevel local features. The Transformer module is utilized to capture global dependencies and contextual information accurately to expand the sensory field of the model. Experiments show that the proposed model achieved 99.45% accuracy on the PlantVillage dataset. The 2018 Artificial Intelligence Challenger dataset and the private dataset attained accuracies of 98.30% and 95.4%, and the proposed classification model achieved a higher accuracy and smaller model size compared to previous deep learning models. The measurement of the ground forces on a real structure or mechanism in operation can be time-consuming and expensive, particularly when production cannot be halted to install sensors. In cases in which disassembling the parts of the system to accommodate sensor installation is neither feasible nor desirable, observing the structure or mechanism in operation and quickly deducing its force trends would facilitate monitoring activities in industrial processes. This opportunity is gradually becoming a reality thanks to the coupling of artificial intelligence (AI) with design techniques such as the finite element and multi-body methods. Properly trained inferential models could make it possible to study the dynamic behavior of real systems and mechanisms in operation simply by observing them in real time through a camera, and they could become valuable tools for investigation during the operation of machinery and devices without the use of additional sensors, which are difficult to use and install. In this paper, the idea presented is developed and applied to a simple mechanism for which the reaction forces during operating conditions are to be determined. This paper explores the implementation of an innovative vision-based virtual sensor that, through data-driven training, is able to emulate traditional sensing solutions for the estimation of reaction forces. The virtual sensor and relative inferential model is validated in a scenario as close to the real world as possible, taking into account interfering inputs that add to the measurement uncertainty, as in a real-world measurement scenario. The results indicate that the proposed model has great robustness and accuracy, as evidenced by the low RMSE values in predicting the reaction forces. This demonstrates the model's effectiveness in reproducing real-world scenarios, highlighting its potential in the real-time estimation of ground reaction forces in industrial settings. With the development of artificial intelligence, the intelligence of agriculture has become a trend. Intelligent monitoring of agricultural activities is an important part of it. In order to achieve intelligent monitoring of agricultural activities and improve economic benefits, this paper proposes a solution that combines unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with deep learning models. The proposed solution aims to detect and classify objects using UAVs in the agricultural industry, thereby achieving independent agriculture without human intervention. To achieve this, a highly reliable target detection and tracking system is developed using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The use of deep learning methods allows the system to effectively solve the target detection and tracking problem. The model utilizes data collected from DJI Mirage 4 unmanned aerial vehicles to detect, track, and classify different types of targets. The performance evaluation of the proposed method shows promising results. By combining UAV technology and deep learning models, this paper provides a cost-effective solution for intelligent monitoring of agricultural activities. Large language models (LLMs) are transformer-based neural networks that can provide human-like responses to questions and instructions. LLMs can generate educational material, summarize text, extract structured data from free text, create reports, write programs, and potentially assist in case sign-out. LLMs combined with vision models can assist in interpreting histopathology images. LLMs have immense potential in transforming pathology practice and education, but these models are not infallible, so any artificial intelligence generated content must be verified with reputable sources. Caution must be exercised on how these models are integrated into clinical practice, as these models can produce hallucinations and incorrect results, and an over-reliance on artificial intelligence may lead to de-skilling and automation bias. Cable-stayed bridges have been widely used in large-span bridge engineering because of their large span capacity and novel structure. The frequent traffic of vehicles transporting flammable and explosive materials has increased the incidence of bridge fires. After being burned, the cable-stayed bridge will suffer from varying degrees of damage, which affects its performance. Therefore, mechanical analysis and evaluation of the fire-damaged cable-stayed bridge are necessary. Due to the development of technology, the structural analysis of cable-stayed bridges has gradually shifted from experimental methods to numerical simulation or artificial intelligence methods, and from local performance research to holistic research. In this paper, a fire accident in the Sifangtai Bridge in Harbin, China, is taken as a case study. Finite element software and damage theory calculation methods were used, and the static and dynamic performances of the bridge under the condition of cable fire damage were analyzed. The results show that the variation of cable force during the movement of vehicle load along the bridge is relatively small, within the range of 7% to 12%. The fusing of the upper cables of the bridge tower has the greatest impact on the deflection of the beam, while the fusing of lower cables has the same impact on the deflection of the entire bridge as the undamaged state. Near the fused cables, cable forces change significantly, increasing by over 20%. As the degree of damage increases, the increase in deflection of the beam becomes more pronounced. The impact of different degrees of cable damage on the dynamic performance of cable-stayed bridges is reflected in quantitative changes. As the degree of cable damage and the amount of fusing increase, the change in structural frequency becomes more pronounced. This paper not only provides technical support and a theoretical basis for the performance analysis of cable-stayed bridges damaged by fire, but it also improves the research content of combining static and dynamic performance, which provides important reference values for similar research in the future. Additive manufacturing (AM) is a field with both industrial and academic significance. Computer-aided optimisation has brought advances to this field over the years, but challenges and areas of improvement still remain. Design to execution inaccuracies, void formation, material anisotropy, and surface quality are examples of remaining challenges. These challenges can be improved via some of the trending optimisation topics, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML); STL correction, replacement, or removal; slicing algorithms; and simulations. This paper reviews AM and its history with a special focus on the printing process and how it can be optimised using computer software. The most important new contribution is a survey of the present challenges connected with the prevailing optimisation topics. This can be seen as a foundation for future research.
