The article reports that the paperboard industry is suffering from the effects of the overestimation of paperboard requirements by U.S. war planners. Estimates for 1942 that were made in 1941 showed that paperboard capacity would not be able to meet minimum requirements for civilians. As it turned out, the programs for minimizing civilian use and the collection drive for wastepaper were too successful. The result is a decline in the prices of paperboards.
