There is increasing focus on applying deep learning methods to electrocardiograms (ECGs), with recent studies showing that neural networks (NNs) can predict future heart failure or atrial fibrillation from the ECG alone. However, large numbers of ECGs are needed to train NNs, and many ECGs are currently only in paper format, which are not suitable for NN training. We developed a fully-automated online ECG digitisation tool to convert scanned paper ECGs into digital signals. Using automated horizontal and vertical anchor point detection, the algorithm automatically segments the ECG image into separate images for the 12 leads and a dynamical morphological algorithm is then applied to extract the signal of interest. We then validated the performance of the algorithm on 515 digital ECGs, of which 45 were printed, scanned and redigitised. The automated digitisation tool achieved 99.0% correlation between the digitised signals and the ground truth ECG (n = 515 standard 3-by-4 ECGs) after excluding ECGs with overlap of lead signals. Without exclusion, the performance of average correlation was from 90 to 97% across the leads on all 3-by-4 ECGs. There was a 97% correlation for 12-by-1 and 3-by-1 ECG formats after excluding ECGs with overlap of lead signals. Without exclusion, the average correlation of some leads in 12-by-1 ECGs was 60–70% and the average correlation of 3-by-1 ECGs achieved 80–90%. ECGs that were printed, scanned, and redigitised, our tool achieved 96% correlation with the original signals. We have developed and validated a fully-automated, user-friendly, online ECG digitisation tool. Unlike other available tools, this does not require any manual segmentation of ECG signals. Fruit recognition and location are the premises of robot automatic picking. YOLOv3 has been used to detect different fruits in complex environment. However, for the object with definite features, the complex network structure will increase the computing time and may cause overfitting. Therefore, this paper has carried out a lightweight design for the YOLOv3. This paper proposed an improved T-Net to detect tomato images. Firstly, the T-Net reduces the residual network layers. This paper changed the number of cycles in each group of the residual unit to 1, 2, 2, 1, and 1. Second, two feature layers with different scales are selected according to the features of tomatoes. Meanwhile, the convolutional layer at the neck has been reduced by two layers. Finally, the location and approximate diameter of the ripe tomato are obtained by combining the node information of the Intel D435i camera and T-Net in the Robot Operation System. T-Net obtains mean average precision (mAP) of 99.2%, F1-score of 98.9%, precision of 99.0%, and recall of 98.8% at a detection rate of 104.2 FPS. The proposed T-Net has outperformed the YOLOv3 with 0.4%, 0.1%, and 0.2% increase in precision, mAP, and F1-score. The detection speed of T-Net is 1.8 times faster than YOLOv3. The mean errors of the center coordinates and diameter of the tomato are 8.5 mm and 2.5 mm, respectively. This model provides a method for efficient real-time detection and location of tomatoes. Pixel‐level labeling of regions of interest in an image is a key step in building a labeled training dataset for supervised deep learning networks of images. However, traditional manual labeling of cancerous regions in digital pathological images by doctors is time‐consuming and inefficient. To address this issue, this paper proposes an automatic labeling method for whole slide images, which combines clustering and edge detection techniques. The proposed method utilizes the multi‐level feature fusion model and the Long‐Short Term Memory network to discriminate the cancerous nature of the whole slide images, thereby improving the classification accuracy of the whole slide images. Subsequently, the automatic labeling of cancerous regions is achieved by integrating a density‐based clustering algorithm and an edge point extraction algorithm, both based on the discriminated results of the cancerous properties of whole slide images. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, which offers an efficient and accurate solution to the challenging task of cancerous region labeling in digital pathological images. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the underlying technology that has enabled connecting daily apparatus to the Internet and enjoying the facilities of smart services. IoT marketing is experiencing an impressive 16.7% growth rate and is a nearly USD 300.3 billion market. These eye-catching figures have made it an attractive playground for cybercriminals. IoT devices are built using resource-constrained architecture to offer compact sizes and competitive prices. As a result, integrating sophisticated cybersecurity features is beyond the scope of the computational capabilities of IoT. All of these have contributed to a surge in IoT intrusion. This paper presents an LSTM-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) with a Dynamic Access Control (DAC) algorithm that not only detects but also defends against intrusion. This novel approach has achieved an impressive 97.16% validation accuracy. Unlike most of the IDSs, the model of the proposed IDS has been selected and optimized through mathematical analysis. Additionally, it boasts the ability to identify a wider range of threats (14 to be exact) compared to other IDS solutions, translating to enhanced security. Furthermore, it has been fine-tuned to strike a balance between accurately flagging threats and minimizing false alarms. Its impressive performance metrics (precision, recall, and F1 score all hovering around 97%) showcase the potential of this innovative IDS to elevate IoT security. This paper thoroughly explores the role of object detection in smart cities, specifically focusing on advancements in deep learning-based methods. Deep learning models gain popularity for their autonomous feature learning, surpassing traditional approaches. Despite progress, challenges remain, such as achieving high accuracy in urban scenes and meeting real-time requirements. The study aims to contribute by analyzing state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, identifying accurate models for smart cities, and evaluating real-time performance using the Average Precision at Medium Intersection over Union (IoU) metric. The reported results showcase various algorithms' performance, with Dynamic Head (DyHead) emerging as the top scorer, excelling in accurately localizing and classifying objects. Evolutionary multi-objective clustering (EMOC) algorithms have gained popularity recently, as they can obtain a set of clustering solutions in a single run by optimizing multiple objectives. Particularly, in one type of EMOC algorithm, the number of clusters k is taken as one of the multiple objectives to obtain a set of clustering solutions with different k. However, the numbers of clusters k and other objectives are not always in conflict, so it is impossible to obtain the clustering solutions with all different k in a single run. Therefore, evolutionary multi-objective k-clustering (EMO-KC) has recently been proposed to ensure this conflict. However, EMO-KC could not obtain good clustering accuracy on high-dimensional datasets. Moreover, EMO-KC's validity is not ensured as one of its objectives (SSDexp, which is transformed from the sum of squared distances (SSD)) could not be effectively optimized and it could not avoid invalid solutions in its initialization. In this paper, an improved evolutionary multi-objective clustering algorithm based on autoencoder (AE-IEMOKC) is proposed to improve the accuracy and ensure the validity of EMO-KC. The proposed AE-IEMOKC is established by combining an autoencoder with an improved version of EMO-KC (IEMO-KC) for better accuracy, where IEMO-KC is improved based on EMO-KC by proposing a scaling factor to help effectively optimize the objective of SSDexp and introducing a valid initialization to avoid the invalid solutions. Experimental results on several datasets demonstrate the accuracy and validity of AE-IEMOKC. Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms are playing a crucial role in transforming healthcare by enhancing the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of medical care, research, and operations. License plate detection is an important task in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and has a wide range of applications in vehicle management, traffic control, and public safety. In order to improve the accuracy and speed of mobile recognition, an improved lightweight YOLOv5s model is proposed for license plate detection. First, an improved Stemblock network is used to replace the original Focus layer in the network, which ensures strong feature expression capability and reduces a large number of parameters to lower the computational complexity; then, an improved lightweight network, ShuffleNetv2, is used to replace the backbone network of the YOLOv5s, which makes the model lighter and ensures the detection accuracy at the same time. Then, a feature enhancement module is designed to reduce the information loss caused by the rearrangement of the backbone network channels, which facilitates the information interaction in the feature fusion process; finally, the low‐, medium‐ and high‐level features in the Shufflenetv2 network structure are fused to form the final high‐level output features. Experimental results on the CCPD dataset show that compared to other methods this paper obtains better performance and faster speed in the license plate detection task, in which the average precision mean value reaches 96.6%, and can achieve a detection speed of 43.86 frame/s, and the parameter volume is reduced to 5.07 M. This paper aims to propose a table tennis target detection (TD) method based on deep learning (DL) and multi-scale feature fusion (MFF) to improve the detection accuracy of the ball in table tennis competition, optimize the training process of athletes, and improve the technical level. In this paper, DL technology is used to improve the accuracy of table tennis TD through MFF guidance. Initially, based on the FAST Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (FAST R-CNN), the TD is carried out in the table tennis match. Then, through the method of MFF guidance, different levels of feature information are fused, which improves the accuracy of TD. Through the experimental verification on the test set, it is found that the mean Average Precision (mAP) value of the target detection algorithm (TDA) proposed here reaches 87.3%, which is obviously superior to other TDAs and has higher robustness. This project will study a fast retrieval method for music humming speech recognition based on sentence features and deep learning. The method proposed in this paper can realize the fast extraction of songs. According to the characteristics of the natural pause mode of the song, the song database and the song fragments provided by the user are divided into different sentences. The deep learning algorithm of BDTW is used to calculate the similarity of the song's pitch, and users can set matching conditions according to their preferences. It can identify the most significant differences between music fragments and the order of queries in the database. Then, a retrieval method of a music database based on DIS is proposed. In pursuit of cost-effective manufacturing, enterprises are increasingly adopting the practice of utilizing recycled semiconductor chips. To ensure consistent chip orientation during packaging, a circular marker on the front side is employed for pin alignment following successful functional testing. However, recycled chips often exhibit substantial surface wear, and the identification of the relatively small marker proves challenging. Moreover, the complexity of generic target detection algorithms hampers seamless deployment. Addressing these issues, this paper introduces a lightweight YOLOv8s-based network tailored for detecting markings on recycled chips, termed Van-YOLOv8. Initially, to alleviate the influence of diminutive, low-resolution markings on the precision of deep learning models, we utilize an upscaling approach for enhanced resolution. This technique relies on the Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network with Extended Training (SRGANext) network, facilitating the reconstruction of high-fidelity images that align with input specifications. Subsequently, we replace the original YOLOv8smodel's backbone feature extraction network with the lightweight VanillaNetwork (VanillaNet), simplifying the branch structure to reduce network parameters. Finally, a Hybrid Attention Mechanism (HAM) is implemented to capture essential details from input images, improving feature representation while concurrently expediting model inference speed. Experimental results demonstrate that the Van-YOLOv8 network outperforms the original YOLOv8s on a recycled chip dataset in various aspects. Significantly, it demonstrates superiority in parameter count, computational intricacy, precision in identifying targets, and speed when compared to certain prevalent algorithms in the current landscape. To address the issue of low accuracy in detecting malicious program behaviors in new power system edge-side applications, we present a detection model based on API call sequences that combines rule matching and deep learning techniques in this paper. We first use the PrefixSpan algorithm to mine frequent API call sequences in different threads of the same program within a malicious program dataset to create a rule base for malicious behavior sequences. The API call sequences to be examined are then matched using the malicious behavior sequence matching model, and those that do not match are fed into the TextCNN deep learning detection model for additional detection. The two models collaborate to accomplish program behavior detection. Deep learning shows great potential in low-light image enhancement, which can improve image brightness and contrast while keeping image natural. However, due to the lack of prior knowledge extracted manually or excessive amplification of noise, these methods result in poor quality of enhanced images. To solve these challenging problems, this paper proposes a dual-branch grayscale image enhancement network based on dense residual and attention mechanism. Low-light grayscale image is used as input. Firstly, features that fuse deep and shallow information are extracted through dense residual convolution branch network; secondly, texture features are extracted through U-Net branch network combined with attention mechanism; then the extracted features are integrated, and finally luminance is adjusted by a brightness adjustment module to output an enhanced grayscale image. In addition, a joint loss function is designed to measure the network training loss from brightness, texture, contrast and noise. A large number of quantitative and qualitative experiments on LOL and VE-LOL datasets show that the proposed method improves Peak Signal to Noise Ratio Index and Structural Similarity Index by 19.65 - 59.76% and 5.61 - 85.53%, respectively, compared with EnlightenGAN, KinD++, RUAS, LLFlow, etc. The proposed method is superior to the most famous methods, thanks to the deep feature extraction and fusion capability of dense residual convolutional network and texture extraction capability of U-Net network combined with attention mechanism. In substation lightning rod meter reading data taking, the classical object detection model is not suitable for deployment in substation monitoring hardware devices due to its large size, large number of parameters, and slow detection speed, while is difficult to balance detection accuracy and real-time requirements with the existing lightweight object detection model. To address this problem, this paper constructs a lightweight object detection algorithm, YOLOv5-Meter Reading Lighting (YOLOv5-MRL), based on the improved YOLOv5 model's speed while maintaining accuracy. Then, the YOLOv5s are pruned based on the convolutional kernel channel soft pruning algorithm, which greatly reduces the number of parameters in the YOLOv5-MRL model while maintaining a certain accuracy loss. Finally, in order to facilitate the dial reading, the dial external circle fitting method is proposed to calculate the dial reading using the circular angle algorithm. The experimental results on the self-built dataset show that the YOLOv5-MRL object detection model achieves a mean average precision of 96.9%, a detection speed of 5 ms/frame, and a model weight size of 5.5 MB, making it better than other advanced dial reading models. To overcome the deficiencies in segmenting hot spots from thermal infrared images, such as difficulty extracting the edge features, low accuracy, and a high missed detection rate, an improved Mask R-CNN photovoltaic hot spot thermal image segmentation algorithm has been proposed in this paper. Firstly, the edge image features of hot spots were extracted based on residual neural networks. Secondly, by combining the feature pyramid structure, an edge-guided feature pyramid structure was designed, and the hot spot edge features were injected into a Mask R-CNN network. Thirdly, an infrared spatial attention module was introduced into the Mask R-CNN network when feature extraction and the infrared features of the detected hot spots were enhanced. Fourthly, the size ratio of the candidate frames was adjusted self-adaptively according to the structural characteristics of the aspect ratio of the hot spots. Finally, the validation experiments were conducted, and the results demonstrated that the hot spot contours of thermal infrared images were enhanced through the algorithm proposed in this paper, and the segmentation accuracy was significantly improved. Street-view images can help us to better understand the city environment and its potential characteristics. With the development of computer vision and deep learning, the technology of semantic segmentation algorithms has become more mature. However, DeeplabV3+, which is commonly used in semantic segmentation, has shortcomings such as a large number of parameters, high requirements for computing resources, and easy loss of detailed information. Therefore, this paper proposes LM-DeeplabV3+, which aims to greatly reduce the parameters and computations of the model while ensuring segmentation accuracy. Firstly, the lightweight network MobileNetV2 is selected as the backbone network, and the ECA attention mechanism is introduced after MobileNetV2 extracts shallow features to improve the ability of feature representation; secondly, the ASPP module is improved, and on this basis, the EPSA attention mechanism is introduced to achieve cross-dimensional channel attention and important feature interaction; thirdly, a loss function named CL loss is designed to balance the training offset of multiple categories and better indicate the segmentation quality. This paper conducted experimental verification on the Cityspaces dataset, and the results showed that the mIoU reached 74.9%, which was an improvement of 3.56% compared to DeeplabV3+; and the mPA reached 83.01%, which was an improvement of 2.53% compared to DeeplabV3+. Intelligent gangue sorting with high precision is of vital importance for improving coal quality. To tackle the challenges associated with coal gangue target detection, including algorithm performance imbalance and hardware deployment difficulties, in this paper, an intelligent gangue separation system that adopts the elevated YOLO-v5 algorithm and dual-energy X-rays is proposed. Firstly, images of dual-energy X-ray transmission coal gangue mixture under the actual operation of a coal mine were collected, and datasets for training and validation were self-constructed. Then, in the YOLOv5 backbone network, the EfficientNetv2 was used to replace the original cross stage partial darknet (CSPDarknet) to achieve the lightweight of the backbone network; in the neck, a light path aggregation network (LPAN) was designed based on PAN, and a convolutional block attention module (CBAM) was integrated into the BottleneckCSP of the feature fusion block to raise the feature acquisition capability of the network and maximize the learning effect. Subsequently, to accelerate the rate of convergence, an efficient intersection over union (EIOU) was used instead of the complete intersection over union (CIOU) loss function. Finally, to address the problem of low resolution of small targets leading to missed detection, an L2 detection head was introduced to the head section to improve the multi-scale target detection performance of the algorithm. The experimental results indicate that in comparison with YOLOv5-S, the same version of the algorithm proposed in this paper increases by 19.2% and 32.4% on mAP @.5 and mAP @.5:.95, respectively. The number of parameters decline by 51.5%, and the calculation complexity declines by 14.7%. The algorithm suggested in this article offers new ideas for the design of identification algorithms for coal gangue sorting systems, which is expected to save energy and reduce consumption, reduce labor, improve efficiency, and be more friendly to the embedded platform. Autonomous driving technology has made a lot of outstanding achievements with deep learning, and the vehicle detection and classification algorithm has become one of the critical technologies of autonomous driving systems. The vehicle instance segmentation can perform instance-level semantic parsing of vehicle information, which is more accurate and reliable than object detection. However, the existing instance segmentation algorithms still have the problems of poor mask prediction accuracy and low detection speed. Therefore, this paper proposes an advanced real-time instance segmentation model named FIR-YOLACT, which fuses the ICIoU (Improved Complete Intersection over Union) and Res2Net for the YOLACT algorithm. Specifically, the ICIoU function can effectively solve the degradation problem of the original CIoU loss function, and improve the training convergence speed and detection accuracy. The Res2Net module fused with the ECA (Efficient Channel Attention) Net is added to the model’s backbone network, which improves the multi-scale detection capability and mask prediction accuracy. Furthermore, the Cluster NMS (Non-Maximum Suppression) algorithm is introduced in the model’s bounding box regression to enhance the performance of detecting similarly occluded objects. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of FIR-YOLACT to the based methods and the effectiveness of all components. This paper proposes a bidirectional feature fusion pyramid (B-FPN) Single Shot Multiple Frame Detector (SSD) algorithm. First, a bidirectional feature pyramid (B-FPN) structure is constructed, which realizes the bidirectional fusion of the feature layers and improves the accuracy of detection. Second, we introduce coordinate attention (CA) to focus on the important channel features while preserving their location information, thereby increasing the focus on the important information. Finally, optimizing the loss function speeds up the convergence of the model and further improves the detection accuracy of the network. The experimental results show that on the VOC2007 dataset, the mAP of the algorithm in this paper is 76.48%, which is 3.52% higher than that of the SSD algorithm. On the COCO 2017 dataset, the mAP of the proposed algorithm is 3.85% higher than that of the SSD algorithm. Compared with other mainstream target detection algorithms, the algorithm in this paper has certain advantages in detection accuracy, and can also achieve satisfactory results in detection speed. An autonomous place recognition system is essential for scenarios where GPS is useless, such as underground tunnels. However, it is difficult to use existing algorithms to fully utilize the small number of effective features in underground tunnel data, and recognition accuracy is difficult to guarantee. In order to solve this challenge, an efficient point cloud position recognition algorithm, named Dual-Attention Transformer Network (DAT-Net), is proposed in this paper. The algorithm firstly adopts the farthest point downsampling module to eliminate the invalid redundant points in the point cloud data and retain the basic shape of the point cloud, which reduces the size of the point cloud and, at the same time, reduces the influence of the invalid point cloud on the data analysis. After that, this paper proposes the dual-attention Transformer module to facilitate local information exchange by utilizing the multi-head self-attention mechanism. It extracts local descriptors and integrates highly discriminative global descriptors based on global context with the help of a feature fusion layer to obtain a more accurate and robust global feature representation. Deep learning-based object detection methods address the problem of how to trade off the object detection accuracy and detection speed of the model. This paper proposes the PBA-YOLOv7 network algorithm, which is based on the YOLOv7 network, and first introduces the PConv, which lightens the ELAN module in the backbone network structure and reduces the number of parameters to improve the detection speed of the network and then designs and introduces the BiFusionNet network, which better aggregates the high-level semantic features and the low-level semantic features; and finally, on this basis, the coordinate attention mechanism is introduced to make the network focus on more critical features without increasing the model complexity. Noncontact heart rate monitoring techniques based on millimeter-wave radar have advantages in unique medical scenarios. However, the accuracy of the existing noncontact heart rate estimation methods is still limited by interference, such as DC offsets, respiratory harmonics, and environmental noise. Additionally, these methods still require longer observation times. Most deep learning methods related to heart rate estimation still need to collect more heart rate marker data for training. To address the above problems, this paper introduces a radar signal-based heart rate estimation network named the "masked phase autoencoders with a vision transformer network" (MVN). This network is grounded on masked autoencoders (MAEs) for self-supervised pretraining and a vision transformer (ViT) for transfer learning. During the phase preprocessing stage, phase differencing and interpolation smoothing are performed on the input phase signal. In the self-supervised pretraining step, masked self-supervised training is performed on the phase signal using the MAE network. In the transfer learning stage, the encoder segment of the MAE network is integrated with the ViT network to enable transfer learning using labeled heart rate data. The innovative MVN offers a dual advantage—it not only reduces the cost associated with heart rate data acquisition but also adeptly addresses the issue of respiratory harmonic interference, which is an improvement over conventional signal processing methods. Deepfakes are digital audio, video, or images manipulated using machine learning algorithms. These manipulated media files can convincingly depict individuals doing or saying things they never actually did. Deepfakes pose significant risks to our lives, including national security, financial markets, and personal privacy. The ability to create convincing deep fakes can also harm individuals' reputations and can be used to spread disinformation and fake news. As such, there is a growing need for reliable and accurate methods to detect deep fakes and prevent their harmful effects. In this paper, a hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN) and recurrent neural network (RNN) with a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is utilized to demonstrate a deep learning strategy for detecting deepfake videos. High accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and F1 score were attained by the proposed approach when tested on two publicly available datasets: Celeb-DF and the Deepfake Detection Challenge Dataset (DFDC). Specifically, the proposed method achieved an average accuracy of 97.26% on Celeb-DF and an average accuracy of 94.2% on DFDC. The results were compared to other state-of-the-art methods and showed that the proposed method outperformed many. Compared with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing in anechoic rooms, open-area EMC testing takes advantage of in situ and engine running status measurement but suffers from non-negligible external electromagnetic interference. This paper proposes a novel environmental interference suppression method (named the EMC environmental interference suppression algorithm ( E 2 I S A )) that separates signals from backgrounds via image segmentation and recognizes the near–far site signal via a group of time-varying features based on the difference in the near-site EM radiative characteristic. We find that the proposed E 2 I S A method, which combines the deep learning segmentation network with the classical recognition methods, is able to suppress environmental interference signals accurately. The adversarial attack can force a CNN-based model to produce an incorrect output by craftily manipulating human-imperceptible input. Exploring such perturbations can help us gain a deeper understanding of the vulnerability of neural networks, and provide robustness to deep learning against miscellaneous adversaries. Despite extensive studies focusing on the robustness of image, audio, and NLP, works on adversarial examples of visual object tracking—especially in a black-box manner—are quite lacking. In this paper, we propose a novel adversarial attack method to generate noises for single object tracking under black-box settings, where perturbations are merely added on initialized frames of tracking sequences, which is difficult to be noticed from the perspective of a whole video clip. Specifically, we divide our algorithm into three components and exploit reinforcement learning for localizing important frame patches precisely while reducing unnecessary computational queries overhead. Compared to existing techniques, our method requires less time to perturb videos, but to manipulate competitive or even better adversarial performance. We test our algorithm in both long-term and short-term datasets, including OTB100, VOT2018, UAV123, and LaSOT. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method on three mainstream types of trackers: discrimination, Siamese-based, and reinforcement learning-based trackers. During the manufacturing process of printed circuit boards (PCBs), quality defects can occur, which can affect the performance and reliability of PCBs. Existing deep learning-based PCB defect detection methods are difficult to simultaneously achieve the goals of high detection accuracy, fast detection speed, and small number of parameters. Therefore, this paper proposes a PCB defect detection algorithm based on CDI-YOLO. Firstly, the coordinate attention mechanism (CA) is introduced to improve the backbone and neck network of YOLOv7-tiny, enhance the feature extraction capability of the model, and thus improve the accuracy of model detection. Secondly, DSConv is used to replace part of the common convolution in YOLOv7-tiny to achieve lower computing costs and faster detection speed. Finally, Inner-CIoU is used as the bounding box regression loss function of CDI-YOLO to speed up the bounding box regression process. The experimental results show that the method achieves 98.3% mAP on the PCB defect dataset, the detection speed is 128 frames per second (FPS), the parameters is 5.8 M, and the giga floating-point operations per second (GFLOPs) is 12.6 G. Malaria is one of the major global health threats. Microscopic examination has been designated as the "gold standard" for malaria detection by the World Health Organization. However, it heavily relies on the experience of doctors, resulting in long diagnosis time, low efficiency, and a high risk of missed or misdiagnosed cases. To alleviate the pressure on healthcare workers and achieve automated malaria detection, numerous target detection models have been applied to the blood smear examination for malaria cells. This paper introduces the multi-level attention split network (MAS-Net) that improves the overall detection performance by addressing the issues of information loss for small targets and mismatch between the detection receptive field and target size. Therefore, we propose the split contextual attention structure (SPCot), which fully utilizes contextual information and avoids excessive channel compression operations, reducing information loss and improving the overall detection performance of malaria cells. In the shallow detection layer, we introduce the multi-scale receptive field detection head (MRFH), which better matches targets of different scales and provides a better detection receptive field, thus enhancing the performance of malaria cell detection. On the NLM—Malaria Dataset provided by the National Institutes of Health, the improved model achieves an average accuracy of 75.9% in the public dataset of Plasmodium vivax (malaria)-infected human blood smear. This paper presents a practical contamination detection system for camera lenses using image analysis with deep learning. The proposed system can detect contamination in camera digital images through contamination learning utilizing deep learning, and it aims to prevent performance degradation of intelligent vision systems due to lens contamination in cameras. This system is based on the object detection algorithm YOLO (v5n, v5s, v5m, v5l, and v5x), which is trained with 4000 images captured under different lighting and background conditions. The trained models showed that the average precision improves as the algorithm size increases, especially for YOLOv5x, which showed excellent efficiency in detecting droplet contamination within 23 ms. They also achieved an average precision (mAP@0.5) of 87.46%, recall (mAP@0.5:0.95) of 51.90%, precision of 90.28%, recall of 81.47%, and F1 score of 85.64%. As a proof of concept, we demonstrated the identification and removal of contamination on camera lenses by integrating a contamination detection system and a transparent heater-based cleaning system. Researchers have explored various methods to fully exploit the all-weather characteristics of Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images to achieve high-precision, real-time, computationally efficient, and easily deployable ship target detection models. These methods include Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithms and deep learning approaches such as RCNN, YOLO, and SSD, among others. While these methods outperform traditional algorithms in SAR ship detection, challenges still exist in handling the arbitrary ship distributions and small target features in SAR remote sensing images. Existing models are complex, with a large number of parameters, hindering effective deployment. This paper introduces a YOLOv7 oriented bounding box SAR ship detection model (YOLOv7oSAR). The model employs a rotation box detection mechanism, uses the KLD loss function to enhance accuracy, and introduces a Bi-former attention mechanism to improve small target detection. By redesigning the network's width and depth and incorporating a lightweight P-ELAN structure, the model effectively reduces its size and computational requirements. The proposed model achieves high-precision detection results on the public RSDD dataset (94.8% offshore, 66.6% nearshore), and its generalization ability is validated on a custom dataset (94.2% overall detection accuracy). Due to the issues of remote sensing object detection algorithms based on deep learning, such as a high number of network parameters, large model size, and high computational requirements, it is challenging to deploy them on small mobile devices. This paper proposes an extremely lightweight remote sensing aircraft object detection network based on the improved YOLOv5n. This network combines Shufflenet v2 and YOLOv5n, significantly reducing the network size while ensuring high detection accuracy. It substitutes the original CIoU and convolution with EIoU and deformable convolution, optimizing for the small-scale characteristics of aircraft objects and further accelerating convergence and improving regression accuracy. Additionally, a coordinate attention (CA) mechanism is introduced at the end of the backbone to focus on orientation perception and positional information. We conducted a series of experiments, comparing our method with networks like GhostNet, PP-LCNet, MobileNetV3, and MobileNetV3s, and performed detailed ablation studies. The experimental results on the Mar20 public dataset indicate that, compared to the original YOLOv5n network, our lightweight network has only about one-fifth of its parameter count, with only a slight decrease of 2.7% in mAP@0.5. At the same time, compared with other lightweight networks of the same magnitude, our network achieves an effective balance between detection accuracy and resource consumption such as memory and computing power, providing a novel solution for the implementation and hardware deployment of lightweight remote sensing object detection networks. The wrist is one of the most complex joints in our body, composed of eight bones. Therefore, measuring the angles of this intricate wrist movement can prove valuable in various fields such as sports analysis and rehabilitation. Textile stretch sensors can be easily produced by immersing an E-band in a SWCNT solution. The lightweight, cost-effective, and reproducible nature of textile stretch sensors makes them well suited for practical applications in clothing. In this paper, wrist angles were measured by attaching textile stretch sensors to an arm sleeve. Three sensors were utilized to measure all three axes of the wrist. Additionally, sensor precision was heightened through the utilization of the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) technique, a subtype of deep learning. Rather than fixing the measurement values of each sensor to specific axes, we created an algorithm utilizing the coupling between sensors, allowing the measurement of wrist angles in three dimensions. Using this algorithm, the error angle of wrist angles measured with textile stretch sensors could be measured at less than 4.5°. Wind power generation has aroused widespread concern worldwide. Accurate prediction of wind speed is very important for the safe and economic operation of the power grid. This paper presents a short-term wind speed prediction model which includes data decomposition, deep learning, intelligent algorithm optimization, and error correction modules. First, the robust local mean decomposition (RLMD) is applied to the original wind speed data to reduce the non-stationarity of the data. Then, the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) is used to determine the optimal parameter combination of the bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BiGRU) to ensure prediction quality. In order to eliminate the predictable components of the error further, a correction module based on the improved salp swarm algorithm (ISSA) and deep extreme learning machine (DELM) is constructed. The exploration and exploitation capability of the original SSA is enhanced by introducing a crazy operator and dynamic learning strategy, and the input weights and thresholds in the DELM are optimized by the ISSA to improve the generalization ability of the model. The actual data of wind farms are used to verify the advancement of the proposed model. Compared with other models, the results show that the proposed model has the best prediction performance. Deep reinforcement learning is an artificial intelligence technology that combines deep learning and reinforcement learning and has been widely applied in multiple fields. As a type of deep reinforcement learning algorithm, the A3C (Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic) algorithm can effectively utilize computer resources and improve training efficiency by synchronously training Actor-Critic in multiple threads. Inspired by the excellent performance of the A3C algorithm, this paper uses the A3C algorithm to solve the UUV (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle) collision avoidance planning problem in unknown environments. This collision avoidance planning algorithm can have the ability to plan in real-time while ensuring a shorter path length, and the output action space can meet the kinematic constraints of UUVs. In response to the problem of UUV collision avoidance planning, this paper designs the state space, action space, and reward function. The simulation results show that the A3C collision avoidance planning algorithm can guide a UUV to avoid obstacles and reach the preset target point. The emergence of deep learning has not only brought great changes in the field of image recognition, but also achieved excellent node classification performance in graph neural networks. However, the existing graph neural network framework often uses methods based on spatial domain or spectral domain to capture network structure features. This process captures the local structural characteristics of graph data, and the convolution process has a large amount of calculation. It is necessary to use multi-channel or deep neural network structure to achieve the goal of modeling the high-order structural characteristics of the network. Therefore, this paper proposes a linear graph neural network framework [Linear Graph Neural Network (LGNN)] with superior performance. The model first preprocesses the input graph, and uses symmetric normalization and feature normalization to remove deviations in the structure and features. Then, by designing a high-order adjacency matrix propagation mechanism, LGNN enables nodes to iteratively aggregate and learn the feature information of high-order neighbors. After obtaining the node representation of the network structure, LGNN uses a simple linear mapping to maintain computational efficiency and obtain the final node representation. The experimental results show that the performance of the LGNN algorithm in some tasks is slightly worse than that of the existing mainstream graph neural network algorithms, but it shows or exceeds the machine learning performance of the existing algorithms in most graph neural network performance evaluation tasks, especially on sparse networks. Tunnel cracks are the main factors that cause damage and collapse of tunnel structures. How to detect tunnel cracks efficiently and avoid safety accidents caused by tunnel cracks effectively is a research hotspot at present. In order to meet the need for efficient detection of tunnel cracks, the tunnel crack detection method based on improved Retinex and deep learning is proposed in this paper. The tunnel crack images collected by optical imaging equipment are used to improve the contrast information of tunnel crack images using the image enhancement algorithm, and this image enhancement algorithm has the function of multi-scale Retinex decomposition with improved central filtering. An improved VGG19 network model is constructed to achieve efficient segmentation of tunnel crack images through deep learning methods and then form the segmented binary image. The Zhang–Suen fast parallel-thinning method is used to obtain the skeleton map of the single-layer pixel, and the length and width information of the tunnel cracks are obtained. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by experiments. Compared with other methods in the literature, the maximum deviation in the length of the tunnel crack is about 5 mm, and the maximum deviation in the width of the tunnel crack is about 0.8 mm. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a shorter detection time and higher detection accuracy. Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) are becoming of interest to the maritime sector and are also on the agenda of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). With the boom in global maritime traffic, the number of ships is increasing rapidly. The use of intelligent technology to achieve autonomous collision avoidance is a hot issue widely discussed in the industry. In the endeavor to solve this problem, multi-ship coordinated collision avoidance has become a crucial challenge. This paper proposes a multi-ship autonomous collision avoidance decision-making algorithm by a data-driven method and adopts the Multi-agent Deep Reinforcement Learning (MADRL) framework for its design. Firstly, the overall framework of this paper and its components follow the principle of "reality as primary and simulation as supplementary", so a real data-driven AIS (Automatic Identification System) dominates the model construction. Secondly, the agent's observation state is determined by quantifying the hazardous area. Then, based on a full understanding of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) and the preliminary data collection, this paper combines the statistical results of the real water traffic data to guide and design the algorithm framework and selects the representative influencing factors to be designed in the collision avoidance decision-making algorithm's reward function. Next, we train the algorithmic model using both real data and simulation data. Meanwhile, Prioritized Experience Replay (PER) is adopted to accelerate the model's learning efficiency. Finally, 40 encounter scenarios are designed and extended to verify the algorithm performance based on the idea of the Imazu problem. The experimental results show that this algorithm can efficiently make a ship collision avoidance decision in compliance with COLREGs. Multi-agent learning through shared network policies can ensure that the agents pass beyond the safe distance in unknown environments. Rice pests and diseases have a significant impact on the quality and yield of rice, and even have a certain impact on and cause a loss in the national agricultural industry and economy. The timely and accurate detection of pests and diseases is the basic premise of formulating effective rice pest control and prevention programs. However, the complexity and diversity of pests and diseases and the high similarity between some pests and diseases make the detection and classification task of pests and diseases extremely difficult without detection tools. The existing target detection algorithms can barely complete the task of detecting pests and diseases, but the detection effect is not ideal. In the actual situation of rice disease and insect pest detection, the detection algorithm is required to have fast speed, high accuracy, and good performance for small target detection, and so this paper improved the popular yolov5 algorithm to achieve an ideal detection performance suitable for rice disease and insect pest detection. Based on the yolov5 algorithm, the RepVGG network structure is introduced, 3*3 convolution is combined with ReLU, a training time model with multi-branch topology is adopted, and the inference time is reduced through layer merging. To improve algorithm detection speed, the SK attention mechanism is introduced to improve the receptive field of the convolution kernel to obtain more information and improve accuracy. Finally, the improved algorithm model is combined with membrane calculation to further improve the accuracy and speed of the algorithm. Deep neural network models have become powerful tools of machine learning and artificial intelligence. They can approximate functions and dynamics by learning from examples. This paper reviews the state-of-art of deep learning-based object detection frameworks that are used for fruit detection in general and for olive fruit in particular. A dataset of olive fruit on the tree is built to train and evaluate deep models. The ultimate goal of this work is the capability of on-edge real-time olive fruit detection on the tree from digital videos. Recent work in deep neural networks has led to the development of a state-of-the-art object detector termed You Only Look Once version five (YOLOv5). This paper builds a dataset of 1.2 K source images of olive fruit on the tree and evaluates the latest object detection algorithms focusing on variants of YOLOv5 and YOLOR. The results of the YOLOv5 models show that the YOLOv5 new network models are able to extract rich olive features from images and detect the olive fruit with a high precision of higher than 0.75 mAP_0.5. Intelligent agriculture has become the development trend of agriculture in the future, and it has a wide range of research and application scenarios. Using machine learning to complete basic tasks for people has become a reality, and this ability is also used in machine vision. In order to save the time in the fruit picking process and reduce the cost of labor, the robot is used to achieve the automatic picking in the orchard environment. Cherry target detection algorithms based on deep learning are proposed to identify and pick cherries. However, most of the existing methods are aimed at relatively sparse fruits and cannot solve the detection problem of small and dense fruits. In this paper, we propose a cherry detection model based on YOLOv5s. First, the shallow feature information is enhanced by convolving the feature maps sampled by two times down in BackBone layer of the original network model to the input end of the second and third CSP modules. In addition, the depth of CSP module is adjusted and RFB module is added in feature extraction stage to enhance feature extraction capability. Finally, Soft- Non-Maximum Suppression (Soft-NMS) is used to minimize the target loss caused by occlusion. We test the performance of the model, and the results show that the improved YOLOv5s-cherry model has the best detection performance for small and dense cherry detection, which is conducive to intelligent picking.
