The wrist is one of the most complex joints in our body, composed of eight bones. Therefore, measuring the angles of this intricate wrist movement can prove valuable in various fields such as sports analysis and rehabilitation. Textile stretch sensors can be easily produced by immersing an E-band in a SWCNT solution. The lightweight, cost-effective, and reproducible nature of textile stretch sensors makes them well suited for practical applications in clothing. In this paper, wrist angles were measured by attaching textile stretch sensors to an arm sleeve. Three sensors were utilized to measure all three axes of the wrist. Additionally, sensor precision was heightened through the utilization of the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) technique, a subtype of deep learning. Rather than fixing the measurement values of each sensor to specific axes, we created an algorithm utilizing the coupling between sensors, allowing the measurement of wrist angles in three dimensions. Using this algorithm, the error angle of wrist angles measured with textile stretch sensors could be measured at less than 4.5°. Deep reinforcement learning is an artificial intelligence technology that combines deep learning and reinforcement learning and has been widely applied in multiple fields. As a type of deep reinforcement learning algorithm, the A3C (Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic) algorithm can effectively utilize computer resources and improve training efficiency by synchronously training Actor-Critic in multiple threads. Inspired by the excellent performance of the A3C algorithm, this paper uses the A3C algorithm to solve the UUV (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle) collision avoidance planning problem in unknown environments. This collision avoidance planning algorithm can have the ability to plan in real-time while ensuring a shorter path length, and the output action space can meet the kinematic constraints of UUVs. In response to the problem of UUV collision avoidance planning, this paper designs the state space, action space, and reward function. The simulation results show that the A3C collision avoidance planning algorithm can guide a UUV to avoid obstacles and reach the preset target point. Deep neural network models have become powerful tools of machine learning and artificial intelligence. They can approximate functions and dynamics by learning from examples. This paper reviews the state-of-art of deep learning-based object detection frameworks that are used for fruit detection in general and for olive fruit in particular. A dataset of olive fruit on the tree is built to train and evaluate deep models. The ultimate goal of this work is the capability of on-edge real-time olive fruit detection on the tree from digital videos. Recent work in deep neural networks has led to the development of a state-of-the-art object detector termed You Only Look Once version five (YOLOv5). This paper builds a dataset of 1.2 K source images of olive fruit on the tree and evaluates the latest object detection algorithms focusing on variants of YOLOv5 and YOLOR. The results of the YOLOv5 models show that the YOLOv5 new network models are able to extract rich olive features from images and detect the olive fruit with a high precision of higher than 0.75 mAP_0.5. Ensuring the transparency of machine learning models is vital for their ethical application in various industries. There has been a concurrent trend of distributed machine learning designed to limit access to training data for privacy concerns. Such models, trained over horizontally or vertically partitioned data, present a challenge for explainable AI because the explaining party may have a biased view of background data or a partial view of the feature space. As a result, explanations obtained from different participants of distributed machine learning might not be consistent with one another, undermining trust in the product. This paper presents an Explainable Data Collaboration Framework based on a model-agnostic additive feature attribution algorithm (KernelSHAP) and Data Collaboration method of privacy-preserving distributed machine learning. In particular, we present three algorithms for different scenarios of explainability in Data Collaboration and verify their consistency with experiments on open-access datasets. Our results demonstrated a significant (by at least a factor of 1.75) decrease in feature attribution discrepancies among the users of distributed machine learning. Background Music is an integral part of our lives and is often played in public places like restaurants. People exposed to music that contained alcohol-related lyrics in a bar scenario consumed significantly more alcohol than those exposed to music with less alcohol-related lyrics. Existing methods to quantify alcohol exposure in song lyrics have used manual annotation that is burdensome and time intensive. In this paper, we aim to build a deep learning algorithm (LYDIA) that can automatically detect and identify alcohol exposure and its context in song lyrics. Methods We identified 673 potentially alcohol-related words including brand names, urban slang, and beverage names. We collected all the lyrics from the Billboard's top-100 songs from 1959 to 2020 (N = 6110). We developed an annotation tool to annotate both the alcohol-relation of the word (alcohol, non-alcohol, or unsure) and the context (positive, negative, or neutral) of the word in the song lyrics. Results LYDIA achieved an accuracy of 86.6% in identifying the alcohol-relation of the word, and 72.9% in identifying its context. LYDIA can distinguish with an accuracy of 97.24% between the words that have positive and negative relation to alcohol; and with an accuracy of 98.37% between the positive and negative context. Conclusion LYDIA can automatically identify alcohol exposure and its context in song lyrics, which will allow for the swift analysis of future lyrics and can be used to help raise awareness about the amount of alcohol in music. Machine learning and deep learning are two subsets of artificial intelligence that involve teaching computers to learn and make decisions from any sort of data. Most recent developments in artificial intelligence are coming from deep learning, which has proven revolutionary in almost all fields, from computer vision to health sciences. The effects of deep learning in medicine have changed the conventional ways of clinical application significantly. Although some sub-fields of medicine, such as pediatrics, have been relatively slow in receiving the critical benefits of deep learning, related research in pediatrics has started to accumulate to a significant level, too. Hence, in this paper, we review recently developed machine learning and deep learning-based solutions for neonatology applications. We systematically evaluate the roles of both classical machine learning and deep learning in neonatology applications, define the methodologies, including algorithmic developments, and describe the remaining challenges in the assessment of neonatal diseases by using PRISMA 2020 guidelines. To date, the primary areas of focus in neonatology regarding AI applications have included survival analysis, neuroimaging, analysis of vital parameters and biosignals, and retinopathy of prematurity diagnosis. We have categorically summarized 106 research articles from 1996 to 2022 and discussed their pros and cons, respectively. In this systematic review, we aimed to further enhance the comprehensiveness of the study. We also discuss possible directions for new AI models and the future of neonatology with the rising power of AI, suggesting roadmaps for the integration of AI into neonatal intensive care units. In recent times, there has been considerable focus on harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) for medical image analysis and healthcare purposes. In this study, we introduce CADFU (Computer-Aided Diagnosis System for Foot Ulcers), a pioneering diabetic foot ulcer diagnosis system. The primary objective of CADFU is to detect and segment ulcers and similar chronic wounds in medical images. To achieve this, we employ two distinct algorithms. Firstly, DHuNeT, an innovative Dual-Phase Hyperactive UNet, is utilized for the segmentation task. Second, we used YOLOv8 for the task of detecting wounds. The DHuNeT autoencoder, employed for the wound segmentation task, is the paper's primary and most significant contribution. DHuNeT is the combination of sequentially stacking two UNet autoencoders. The hyperactive information transmission from the first UNet to the second UNet is the key idea of DHuNeT. The first UNet feeds the second UNet the features it has learned, and the two UNets combine their learned features to create new, more accurate, and effective features. We achieve good performance measures, especially in terms of the Dice co-efficient and precision, with segmentation scores of 85% and 92.6%, respectively. We obtain a mean average precision (mAP) of 86% in the detection task. Non-invasive skin imaging techniques allow for improved diagnostic accuracy; however, their use is often limited due to the need for skilled practitioners trained to interpret images in a standardized fashion. Recent innovations in artificial intelligence (AI)-based techniques for skin lesion image interpretation show potential for the use of AI in the early detection of melanoma. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the current state of AI-based techniques used in combination with non-invasive diagnostic imaging modalities including reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and dermoscopy. We also aimed to determine whether the application of AI-based techniques can lead to improved diagnostic accuracy of melanoma. Methods: A systematic search was conducted via the Medline/PubMed, Cochrane, and Embase databases for eligible publications between 2018 and 2022. Screening methods adhered to the 2020 version of the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. Included studies utilized AI-based algorithms for melanoma detection and directly addressed the review objectives. Results: We retrieved 40 papers amongst the three databases. All studies directly comparing the performance of AI-based techniques with dermatologists reported the superior or equivalent performance of AI-based techniques in improving the detection of melanoma. In studies directly comparing algorithm performance on dermoscopy images to dermatologists, AI-based algorithms achieved a higher ROC (>80%) in the detection of melanoma. In these comparative studies using dermoscopic images, the mean algorithm sensitivity was 83.01% and the mean algorithm specificity was 85.58%. Studies evaluating machine learning in conjunction with OCT boasted accuracy of 95%, while studies evaluating RCM reported a mean accuracy rate of 82.72%. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate the robust potential of AI-based techniques to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes through the early identification of melanoma. Further studies are needed to assess the generalizability of these AI-based techniques across different populations and skin types, improve standardization in image processing, and further compare the performance of AI-based techniques with board-certified dermatologists to evaluate clinical applicability. Since 2000, there have been more than 8000 publications on radiology artificial intelligence (AI). AI breakthroughs allow complex tasks to be automated and even performed beyond human capabilities. However, the lack of details on the methods and algorithm code undercuts its scientific value. Many science subfields have recently faced a reproducibility crisis, eroding trust in processes and results, and influencing the rise in retractions of scientific papers. For the same reasons, conducting research in deep learning (DL) also requires reproducibility. Although several valuable manuscript checklists for AI in medical imaging exist, they are not focused specifically on reproducibility. In this study, we conducted a systematic review of recently published papers in the field of DL to evaluate if the description of their methodology could allow the reproducibility of their findings. We focused on the Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI), a specialized journal that publishes papers on AI and medical imaging. We used the keyword "Deep Learning" and collected the articles published between January 2020 and January 2022. We screened all the articles and included the ones which reported the development of a DL tool in medical imaging. We extracted the reported details about the dataset, data handling steps, data splitting, model details, and performance metrics of each included article. We found 148 articles. Eighty were included after screening for articles that reported developing a DL model for medical image analysis. Five studies have made their code publicly available, and 35 studies have utilized publicly available datasets. We provided figures to show the ratio and absolute count of reported items from included studies. Today is the era of ultra-age technology and practices for the betterment of the society. Drone is the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which needs a path planning to reach up to the target. There are two basic modes for use of drone in case of military/surveillance: first is attack mode and defensive mode. Hence, this paper focuses on defensive mode as a scope of the proposed study. This paper provides significance of drone surveillance, a new artificial intelligence strategy to develop a predictive model based on the path planning. Further, based on the drone dataset, the UAV travel graph can be predicted and tested with a recursive machine learning algorithm. This strategy can be clubbed as an image path using deep learning algorithm also but to ensure the graph-based training and testing, the proposed research will use CNN algorithm for comparative analysis of simulated path's plan coordinates. With the wave of artificial intelligence and deep learning sweeping the world, there are many algorithms based on deep learning for image defog research. However, there is still serious color distortion, contrast reduction, incomplete fog removal, and other problems. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an improved image defogging network based on the traditional cycle-consistent adversarial network. We add the self-attention module and atrous convolution multi-scale feature fusion module on the basis of the traditional CycleGAN network to enhance the feature extraction capability of the network. The perceptual loss function is introduced into the loss function of the model to enhance the texture sense of the generated image. Finally, by comparing several typical defogging algorithms, the superiority of the defogging model proposed in this paper is proved qualitatively and quantitatively. Among them, on the indoor synthetic data set, the Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Structural Similarity Index Measurement (SSIM) of the network designed by us can reach 23.22 and 0.8809, respectively. On the outdoor synthetic data set, the PSNR and SSIM of our designed network can be as high as 25.72 and 0.8859, respectively. On the real data set, the PSNR and SSIM of our designed network can reach 21.02 and 0.8166, respectively. In the field of computer vision, it is a very challenging task to use artificial intelligence deep learning method to realize the programming and creation of NFT artwork. With the continuous development and improvement of deep learning technology, this task has become a reality. The generative adversarial network model used in deep learning can generate new images based on the extraction and analysis of image data features and has become an important tool for NFT artwork image generation. In order to better realize the NFT artwork programming, this paper analyzes the working principle of the traditional adversarial generation method and then uses the StyleGAN model to edit the higher-level attributes of the image, which can effectively control the generated style and style of the NFT artwork image. Finally, in order to improve the quality of the generated images, this paper introduces a channel attention mechanism and a spatial attention mechanism to ensure that the generated images are more reasonable and realistic. Chip pad inspection is of great practical importance for chip alignment inspection and correction. It is one of the key technologies for automated chip inspection in semiconductor manufacturing. When applying deep learning methods for chip pad inspection, the main problem to be solved is how to ensure the accuracy of small target pad detection and, at the same time, achieve a lightweight inspection model. The attention mechanism is widely used to improve the accuracy of small target detection by finding the attention region of the network. However, conventional attention mechanisms capture feature information locally, which makes it difficult to effectively improve the detection efficiency of small targets from complex backgrounds in target detection tasks. In this paper, an OCAM (Object Convolution Attention Module) attention module is proposed to build long-range dependencies between channel features and position features by constructing feature contextual relationships to enhance the correlation between features. By adding the OCAM attention module to the feature extraction layer of the YOLOv5 network, the detection performance of chip pads is effectively improved. In addition, a design guideline for the attention layer is proposed in the paper. The attention layer is adjusted by network scaling to avoid network characterization bottlenecks, balance network parameters, and network detection performance, and reduce the hardware device requirements for the improved YOLOv5 network in practical scenarios. Extensive experiments on chip pad datasets, VOC datasets, and COCO datasets show that the approach in this paper is more general and superior to several state-of-the-art methods. Advanced mathematical and deep learning (DL) algorithms have recently played a crucial role in diagnosing medical parameters and diseases. One of these areas that need to be more focused on is dentistry. This is why creating digital twins of dental issues in the metaverse is a practical and effective technique to benefit from the immersive characteristics of this technology and adapt the real world of dentistry to the virtual world. These technologies can create virtual facilities and environments for patients, physicians, and researchers to access a variety of medical services. Experiencing an immersive interaction between doctors and patients can be another considerable advantage of these technologies, which can dramatically improve the efficiency of the healthcare system. In addition, offering these amenities through a blockchain system enhances reliability, safety, openness, and the ability to trace data exchange. It also brings about cost savings through improved efficiencies. In this paper, a digital twin of cervical vertebral maturation (CVM), which is a critical factor in a wide range of dental surgery, within a blockchain-based metaverse platform is designed and implemented. A DL method has been used to create an automated diagnosis process for the upcoming CVM images in the proposed platform. This method includes MobileNetV2, a mobile architecture that improves the performance of mobile models in multiple tasks and benchmarks. The proposed technique of digital twinning is simple, fast, and suitable for physicians and medical specialists, as well as for adapting to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) due to its low latency and computing costs. One of the important contributions of the current study is to use of DL-based computer vision as a real-time measurement method so that the proposed digital twin does not require additional sensors. Furthermore, a comprehensive conceptual framework for creating digital twins of CVM based on MobileNetV2 within a blockchain ecosystem has been designed and implemented, showing the applicability and suitability of the introduced approach. The high performance of the proposed model on a collected small dataset demonstrates that low-cost deep learning can be used for diagnosis, anomaly detection, better design, and many more applications of the upcoming digital representations. Data-driven algorithms have proven to be effective for a variety of medical tasks, including disease categorization and prediction, personalized medicine design, and imaging diagnostics. Although their performance is frequently on par with that of clinicians, their widespread use is constrained by a number of obstacles, including the requirement for high-quality data that are typical of the population, the difficulty of explaining how they operate, and ethical and regulatory concerns. The use of data augmentation and synthetic data generation methodologies, such as federated learning and explainable artificial intelligence ones, could provide a viable solution to the current issues, facilitating the widespread application of artificial intelligence algorithms in the clinical application domain and reducing the time needed for prevention, diagnosis, and prognosis by up to 70%. Simple Summary: Accurately grading gliomas, which are the most common and aggressive malignant brain tumors in adults, poses a significant challenge for radiologists. This study explores the application of Deep Learning techniques in assisting tumor grading using Magnetic Resonance Images (MRIs). By analyzing a glioma database sourced from multiple public datasets and comparing different settings, the aim of this study is to develop a robust and reliable grading system. The study demonstrates that by focusing on the tumor region of interest and augmenting the available data, there is a significant improvement in both the accuracy and confidence of tumor grade classifications. While successful in differentiating low-grade gliomas from high-grade gliomas, the accurate classification of grades 2, 3, and 4 remains challenging. The research findings have significant implications for advancing the development of a non-invasive, robust, and trustworthy data-driven system to support clinicians in the diagnosis and therapy planning of glioma patients. Glioma is the most common type of tumor in humans originating in the brain. According to the World Health Organization, gliomas can be graded on a four-stage scale, ranging from the most benign to the most malignant. The grading of these tumors from image information is a far from trivial task for radiologists and one in which they could be assisted by machine-learning-based decision support. However, the machine learning analytical pipeline is also fraught with perils stemming from different sources, such as inadvertent data leakage, adequacy of 2D image sampling, or classifier assessment biases. In this paper, we analyze a glioma database sourced from multiple datasets using a simple classifier, aiming to obtain a reliable tumor grading and, on the way, we provide a few guidelines to ensure such reliability. Our results reveal that by focusing on the tumor region of interest and using data augmentation techniques we significantly enhanced the accuracy and confidence in tumor classifications. Evaluation on an independent test set resulted in an AUC-ROC of 0.932 in the discrimination of low-grade gliomas from high-grade gliomas, and an AUC-ROC of 0.893 in the classification of grades 2, 3, and 4. The study also highlights the importance of providing, beyond generic classification performance, measures of how reliable and trustworthy the model's output is, thus assessing the model's certainty and robustness. Traditional path planning is mainly utilized for path planning in discrete action space, which results in incomplete ship navigation power propulsion strategies during the path search process. Moreover, reinforcement learning experiences low success rates due to its unbalanced sample collection and unreasonable design of reward function. In this paper, an environment framework is designed, which is constructed using the Box2D physics engine and employs a reward function, with the distance between the agent and arrival point as the main, and the potential field superimposed by boundary control, obstacles, and arrival point as the supplement. We also employ the state-of-the-art PPO (Proximal Policy Optimization) algorithm as a baseline for global path planning to address the issue of incomplete ship navigation power propulsion strategy. Additionally, a Beta policy-based distributed sample collection PPO algorithm is proposed to overcome the problem of unbalanced sample collection in path planning by dividing sub-regions to achieve distributed sample collection. Computer Vision (CV) has become an essential field in Artificial Intelligence applications. Object detection and recognition (ODR) is one of the fundamental tasks of computer vision implementations. However, developing an efficient ODR model is still a significant problem. The model's execution time and speed are the most critical features during the inference or detection and recognition process, which need to be improved using the latest object detection architectures. In this paper, the handwritten detection and recognition (HDR) model is developed based on previously known algorithms with their efficiency, such as Faster R-CNN and YOLOv4 in the first hand. On the other hand, two new models capable of detecting and recognizing handwritten digits using the latest ODR algorithm are proposed, one based on the latest YOLO family architecture (YOLOv5-HDR) with high speed and accuracy and the other using the transformers architecture (DETR). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to achieve a details comparison between YOLOv5 and transformers-based models in handwritten digit detection. Finally, the detailed performance analysis achieved by the paper proves that the YOLOv4-based model achieved the testing inference 13% faster than Faster R-CNN. However, the proposed YOLOv5-based model outperformed the YOLOv4 and the transformers-based one as it increased the testing execution time 25% faster than the YOLOv4, three times faster than the DETR model. A further adversarial attack test has been conducted to ensure the robust performance of the proposed model. Furthermore, numerical experiment results and their analyses demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed YOLOv5-based model being the most stable for handwritten digit detection and recognition tasks. Distribution shifts remain a problem for the safe application of regulated medical AI systems, and may impact their real-world performance if undetected. Postmarket shifts can occur for example if algorithms developed on data from various acquisition settings and a heterogeneous population are predominantly applied in hospitals with lower quality data acquisition or other centre-specific acquisition factors, or where some ethnicities are over-represented. Therefore, distribution shift detection could be important for monitoring AI-based medical products during postmarket surveillance. We implemented and evaluated three deep-learning based shift detection techniques (classifier-based, deep kernel, and multiple univariate kolmogorov-smirnov tests) on simulated shifts in a dataset of 130'486 retinal images. We trained a deep learning classifier for diabetic retinopathy grading. We then simulated population shifts by changing the prevalence of patients' sex, ethnicity, and co-morbidities, and example acquisition shifts by changes in image quality. We observed classification subgroup performance disparities w.r.t. image quality, patient sex, ethnicity and co-morbidity presence. The sensitivity at detecting referable diabetic retinopathy ranged from 0.50 to 0.79 for different ethnicities. This motivates the need for detecting shifts after deployment. Classifier-based tests performed best overall, with perfect detection rates for quality and co-morbidity subgroup shifts at a sample size of 1000. It was the only method to detect shifts in patient sex, but required large sample sizes ( > 3 0 ′ 000 ). All methods identified easier-to-detect out-of-distribution shifts with small (≤300) sample sizes. We conclude that effective tools exist for detecting clinically relevant distribution shifts. The aim of this review is to introduce some applications of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for the detection and quantification of coronary stenosis using computed tomography angiography (CTA). The realization of automatic/semi-automatic stenosis detection and quantification includes the following steps: vessel central axis extraction, vessel segmentation, stenosis detection, and quantification. Many new AI techniques, such as machine learning and deep learning, have been widely used in medical image segmentation and stenosis detection. This review also summarizes the recent progress regarding coronary stenosis detection and quantification, and discusses the development trends in this field. Through evaluation and comparison, researchers can better understand the research frontier in related fields, compare the advantages and disadvantages of various methods, and better optimize the new technologies. Machine learning and deep learning will promote the process of automatic detection and quantification of coronary artery stenosis. It is important to achieve the 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images in deep learning-based multi-view stereo (MVS) vision. The lack of obvious texture features and detailed edges in UAV remote sensing images leads to inaccurate feature point matching or depth estimation. To address this problem, this study improves the TransMVSNet algorithm in the field of 3D reconstruction by optimizing its feature extraction network and costumed body depth prediction network. The improvement is mainly achieved by extracting features with the Asymptotic Pyramidal Network (AFPN) and assigning weights to different levels of features through the ASFF module to increase the importance of key levels and also using the UNet structured network combined with an attention mechanism to predict the depth information, which also extracts the key area information. It aims to improve the performance and accuracy of the TransMVSNet algorithm's 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images. In this work, we have performed comparative experiments and quantitative evaluation with other algorithms on the DTU dataset as well as on a large UAV remote sensing image dataset. After a large number of experimental studies, it is shown that our improved TransMVSNet algorithm has better performance and robustness, providing a valuable reference for research and application in the field of 3D reconstruction of UAV remote sensing images. Simple Summary: Early characterization of the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDHIDH) gene mutation status of glioma is crucial for personalized decision making and prognosis in clinical neurooncological treatment. Based on the known differences in energy metabolism between IDHIDH-mutated and IDHIDH-wildtype gliomas, we assessed physio-metabolic magnetic resonance imaging-based measures along with machine learning for potential reliable presurgical characterization of IDHIDH gene status. Traditional machine learning algorithms and simple deep learning models trained in analyzing physio-metabolic parameters demonstrated the best performance in classifying the IDHIDH gene status of gliomas in independent internal testing. In contrast, external testing revealed that traditional machine learning models trained on clinical MRI data had higher accuracy compared to physio-metabolic algorithms, reflecting differences in data acquisition methodology between the two sites. Our results outline the necessity of independent internal and external testing, thus calling for standardized and robust protocols for clinical MRI-driven AI applications. The mutational status of the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) gene plays a key role in the treatment of glioma patients because it is known to affect energy metabolism pathways relevant to glioma. Physio-metabolic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables the non-invasive analysis of oxygen metabolism and tissue hypoxia as well as associated neovascularization and microvascular architecture. However, evaluating such complex neuroimaging data requires computational support. Traditional machine learning algorithms and simple deep learning models were trained with radiomic features from clinical MRI (cMRI) or physio-metabolic MRI data. A total of 215 patients (first center: 166 participants + 16 participants for independent internal testing of the algorithms versus second site: 33 participants for independent external testing) were enrolled using two different physio-metabolic MRI protocols. The algorithms trained with physio-metabolic data demonstrated the best classification performance in independent internal testing: precision, 91.7%; accuracy, 87.5%; area under the receiver operating curve (AUROC), 0.979. In external testing, traditional machine learning models trained with cMRI data exhibited the best IDH classification results: precision, 84.9%; accuracy, 81.8%; and AUROC, 0.879. The poor performance for the physio-metabolic MRI approach appears to be explainable by site-dependent differences in data acquisition methodologies. The physio-metabolic MRI approach potentially supports reliable classification of IDH gene status in the presurgical stage of glioma patients. First, based on previous research results and metallogenic regularity, prospecting information, namely, lithology, Au-Ag-Cu chemical elements and wall rock alteration is extracted, and the block model is established by combining the Kriging interpolation structure. Second, the datasets are divided into dataset I and dataset II according to "randomness" and "depth". Third, deep prospecting prediction models based on deep neural networks (DNN) and the convolutional neural networks (CNN) is constructed, and the model parameters are optimized. Finally, the models are applied to the deep prediction of the Xiongcun No. II Orebody. The results show that the accuracy rate and recall rate of the prediction model based on the DNN algorithm are 96.15% and 89.23%, respectively, and the AUC is 96.39%, which are higher values than those of the CNN algorithm, indicating that the performance of the prediction model based on the DNN algorithm is better. The accuracy of prediction model based on dataset I is higher than that of dataset II. The accuracy of deep metallogenic prediction based on the DNN algorithm is approximately 89%, that based on the CNN is approximately 87%, and that based on prospecting information method is approximately 61.27%. Self-collision detection is fundamental to the safe operation of multi-manipulator systems, especially when cooperating in highly dynamic working environments. Existing methods still face the problem that detection efficiency and accuracy cannot be achieved at the same time. In this paper, we introduce artificial intelligence technology into the control system. Based on the Gilbert-Johnson-Keerthi (GJK) algorithm, we generated a dataset and trained a deep neural network (DLNet) to improve the detection efficiency. By combining DLNet and the GJK algorithm, we propose a two-level self-collision detection algorithm (DLGJK algorithm) to solve real-time self-collision detection problems in a dual-manipulator system with fast-continuous and high-precision properties. First, the proposed algorithm uses DLNet to determine whether the current working state of the system has a risk of self-collision; since most of the working states in a system workspace do not have a self-collision risk, DLNet can effectively reduce the number of unnecessary detections and improve the detection efficiency. Then, for the working states with a risk of self-collision, we modeled precise colliders and applied the GJK algorithm for fine self-collision detection, which achieved detection accuracy. The experimental results showed that compared to that with the global use of the GJK algorithm for self-collision detection, the DLGJK algorithm can reduce the time expectation of a single detection in a system workspace by 97.7%. In the path planning of the manipulators, it could effectively reduce the number of unnecessary detections, improve the detection efficiency, and reduce system overhead. In this paper, a structural health monitoring (SHM) system is proposed to provide automatic early warning for detecting damage and its location in composite pipelines at an early stage. The study considers a basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) pipeline with an embedded Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensory system and first discusses the shortcomings and challenges with incorporating FBG sensors for accurate detection of damage information in pipelines. The novelty and the main focus of this study is, however, a proposed approach that relies on designing an integrated sensing-diagnostic SHM system that has the capability to detect damage in composite pipelines at an early stage via implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithm combining deep learning and other efficient machine learning methods using an Enhanced Convolutional Neural Network (ECNN) without retraining the model. The proposed architecture replaces the softmax layer by a k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) algorithm for inference. Finite element models are developed and calibrated by the results of pipe measurements under damage tests. The models are then used to assess the patterns of the strain distributions of the pipeline under internal pressure loading and under pressure changes due to bursts, and to find the relationship of strains at different locations axially and circumferentially. A prediction algorithm for pipe damage mechanisms using distributed strain patterns is also developed. The ECNN is designed and trained to identify the condition of pipe deterioration so the initiation of damage can be detected. The strain results from the current method and the available experimental results in the literature show excellent agreement. The average error between the ECNN data and FBG sensor data is 0.093%, thus confirming the reliability and accuracy of the proposed method. The identification and characterization of lung diseases is one of the most interesting research topics in recent years. They require accurate and rapid diagnosis. Although lung imaging techniques have many advantages for disease diagnosis, the interpretation of medial lung images has always been a major problem for physicians and radiologists due to diagnostic errors. This has encouraged the use of modern artificial intelligence techniques such as deep learning. In this paper, a deep learning architecture based on EfficientNetB7, known as the most advanced architecture among convolutional networks, has been constructed for classification of medical X-ray and CT images of lungs into three classes namely: common pneumonia, coronavirus pneumonia and normal cases. In terms of accuracy, the proposed model is compared with recent pneumonia detection techniques. The results provided robust and consistent features to this system for pneumonia detection with predictive accuracy according to the three classes mentioned above for both imaging modalities: radiography at 99.81% and CT at 99.88%. This work implements an accurate computer-aided system for the analysis of radiographic and CT medical images. Background: Auditory–perceptual assessment of voice is a subjective procedure. Artificial intelligence with deep learning (DL) may improve the consistency and accessibility of this task. It is unclear how a DL model performs on different acoustic features. Aims: To develop a generalizable DL framework for identifying dysphonia using a multidimensional acoustic feature. Methods & Procedures: Recordings of sustained phonations of /a/ and /i/ were retrospectively collected from a clinical database. Subjects contained 238 dysphonic and 223 vocally healthy speakers of Chinese Mandarin. All audio clips were split into multiple 1.5‐s segments and normalized to the same loudness level. Mel frequency cepstral coefficients and mel‐spectrogram were extracted from these standardized segments. Each set of features was used in a convolutional neural network (CNN) to perform a binary classification task. The best feature was obtained through a five‐fold cross‐validation on a random selection of 80% data. The resultant DL framework was tested on the remaining 20% data and a public German voice database. The performance of the DL framework was compared with those of two baseline machine‐learning models. Outcomes & Results: The mel‐spectrogram yielded the best model performance, with a mean area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.972 and an accuracy of 92% in classifying audio segments. The resultant DL framework significantly outperformed both baseline models in detecting dysphonic subjects on both test sets. The best outcomes were achieved when classifications were made based on all segments of both vowels, with 95% accuracy, 92% recall, 98% precision and 98% specificity on the Chinese test set, and 92%, 95%, 90% and 89%, respectively, on the German set. Conclusions & Implications: This study demonstrates the feasibility of DL for automatic detection of dysphonia. The mel‐spectrogram is a preferred acoustic feature for the task. This framework may be used for vocal health screening and facilitate automatic perceptual evaluation of voice in the era of big data. DL is a new method of artificial intelligence that can overcome these disadvantages and promote automatic voice assessment. This study explored the feasibility of a DL approach for automatic detection of dysphonia, along with a quantitative comparison of two common sets of acoustic features. What this study adds to existing knowledge: A CNN model is excellent at decoding multidimensional acoustic features, outperforming the baseline parameter‐based models in identifying dysphonic voices. The first 13 mel‐frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) are sufficient for this task. The mel‐spectrogram results in greater performance, indicating the acoustic features are presented in a more favourable way than the MFCCs to the CNN model. Quality inspection in the industrial production field is experiencing a strong technological development that benefits from the combination of vision-based techniques with artificial intelligence algorithms. This paper initially addresses the problem of defect identification for circularly symmetric mechanical components, characterized by the presence of periodic elements. In the specific case of knurled washers, we compare the performances of a standard algorithm for the analysis of grey-scale image with a Deep Learning (DL) approach. The standard algorithm is based on the extraction of pseudo-signals derived from the conversion of the grey scale image of concentric annuli. In the DL approach, the component inspection is shifted from the entire sample to specific areas repeated along the object profile where the defect may occur. The standard algorithm provides better results in terms of accuracy and computational time with respect to the DL approach. Nevertheless, DL reaches accuracy higher than 99% when performance is evaluated targeting the identification of damaged teeth. The occurrence of forest fires causes serious damage to ecological diversity and the safety of people's property and life. However, due to the complex forest environment, the changeable shape of forest fires, and the uncertainty of flame color and texture, forest fire detection becomes very difficult. Traditional image processing methods rely heavily on artificial features and are not generally applicable to different forest fire scenes. In order to solve the problem of inaccurate forest fire recognition caused by the manual extraction of features, some scholars use deep learning technology to adaptively learn and extract forest fire features, but they often use a single target detection model, and their lack of learning and perception makes it difficult for them to accurately identify forest fires in a complex forest fire environment. Therefore, in order to overcome the shortcomings of the manual extraction of features and achieve a higher accuracy of forest fire recognition, this paper proposes an algorithm based on weighted fusion to identify forest fire sources in different scenarios, fuses two independent weakly supervised models Yolov5 and EfficientDet, completes the training and prediction of data sets in parallel, and uses the weighted boxes fusion algorithm (WBF) to process the prediction results to obtain the fusion frame. Finally, the model is evaluated by Microsoft COCO standard. Experimental results show that compared with Yolov5 and EfficientDet, the proposed Y4SED improves the detection performance by 2.5% to 4.5%. The fused algorithm proposed in this paper has better feature extraction ability, can extract more forest fire feature information, and better balances the recognition accuracy and complexity of the model, which provides a reference for forest fire target detection in the real environment. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been integrated into dentistry for improvement of current dental practice. While many studies have explored the utilization of AI in various fields, the potential of AI in dentistry, particularly in low-middle income countries (LMICs) remains understudied. This scoping review aimed to study the existing literature on the applications of artificial intelligence in dentistry in low-middle income countries. A comprehensive search strategy was applied utilizing three major databases: PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCO Dentistry & Oral Sciences Source. The search strategy included keywords related to AI, Dentistry, and LMICs. The initial search yielded a total of 1587, out of which 25 articles were included in this review. Our findings demonstrated that limited studies have been carried out in LMICs in terms of AI and dentistry. Most of the studies were related to Orthodontics. Apical periodontitis (AP) is one of the most prevalent disorders in dentistry. However, it can be underdiagnosed in asymptomatic patients. In addition, the perioperative evaluation of 3-dimensional (3D) lesion volume is of great clinical relevance, but the required slice-by-slice manual delineation method is time- and labor-intensive. Here, for quickly and accurately detecting and segmenting periapical lesions (PALs) associated with AP on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images, we proposed and geographically validated a novel 3D deep convolutional neural network algorithm, named PAL-Net. On the internal 5-fold cross-validation set, our PAL-Net achieved an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.98. The algorithm also improved the diagnostic performance of dentists with varying levels of experience, as evidenced by their enhanced average AUC values (junior dentists: 0.89–0.94; senior dentists: 0.91–0.93), and significantly reduced the diagnostic time (junior dentists: 69.3 min faster; senior dentists: 32.4 min faster). Moreover, our PAL-Net achieved an average Dice similarity coefficient over 0.87 (0.85–0.88), which is superior or comparable to that of other existing state-of-the-art PAL segmentation algorithms. Furthermore, we validated the generalizability of the PAL-Net system using multiple external data sets from Central, East, and North China, showing that our PAL-Net has strong robustness. The optical flow technique has advantages in motion tracking and has long been employed in precipitation nowcasting to track the motion of precipitation fields using ground radar datasets. However, the performance and forecast time scale of models based on optical flow are limited. Here, we present the results of the application of the deep learning method to optical flow estimation to extend its forecast time scale and enhance the performance of nowcasting. It is shown that a deep learning model can better capture both multispatial and multitemporal motions of precipitation events compared with traditional optical flow estimation methods. The model comprises two components: 1) a regression process based on multiple optical flow algorithms, which more accurately captures multispatial features compared with a single optical flow algorithm; and 2) a U-Net-based network that trains multitemporal features of precipitation movement. We evaluated the model performance with cases of precipitation in South Korea. In particular, the regression process minimizes errors by combining multiple optical flow algorithms with a gradient descent method and outperforms other models using only a single optical flow algorithm up to a 3-h lead time. Additionally, the U-Net plays a crucial role in capturing nonlinear motion that cannot be captured by a simple advection model through traditional optical flow estimation. Consequently, we suggest that the proposed optical flow estimation method with deep learning could play a significant role in improving the performance of current operational nowcasting models, which are based on traditional optical flow methods. Significance Statement: The purpose of this study is to improve the accuracy of short-term rainfall prediction based on optical flow methods that have been employed for operational precipitation nowcasting. By utilizing open-source libraries, such as OpenCV, and commonly applied machine learning techniques, such as multiple linear regression and U-Net networks, we propose an accessible model for enhancing prediction accuracy. Simple Summary: The exponential growth in artificial intelligence development, particularly its application in capsule endoscopy, serves as a compelling model for gastroenterologists. This review focusses on the latest advancements in capsule endoscopy, analyzing the possible benefits and ethical challenges that artificial intelligence may bring to the field of minimally invasive capsule panendoscopy, while also offering insights into future directions. Specifically in the context of oncological gastrointestinal screening, there is still a need to explore alternative strategies for enhancing this process. Artificial intelligence-enhanced capsule panendoscopy has the potential to positively impact the future by addressing time constraints and improve accessibility through the use of highly efficient diagnostic models. In the early 2000s, the introduction of single-camera wireless capsule endoscopy (CE) redefined small bowel study. Progress continued with the development of double-camera devices, first for the colon and rectum, and then, for panenteric assessment. Advancements continued with magnetic capsule endoscopy (MCE), particularly when assisted by a robotic arm, designed to enhance gastric evaluation. Indeed, as CE provides full visualization of the entire gastrointestinal (GI) tract, a minimally invasive capsule panendoscopy (CPE) could be a feasible alternative, despite its time-consuming nature and learning curve, assuming appropriate bowel cleansing has been carried out. Recent progress in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in the development of convolutional neural networks (CNN) for CE auxiliary reading (detecting and diagnosing), may provide the missing link in fulfilling the goal of establishing the use of panendoscopy, although prospective studies are still needed to validate these models in actual clinical scenarios. Simple Summary: Plasma Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) DNA is an important prognostic marker for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). However, EBV DNA is less sensitive to locoregional recurrence compared to distant metastasis in NPC. Numerous findings suggest that the presence of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is associated with NPC prognosis. Nevertheless, NPC is characterised by the presence of abundant TILs. This study aims to generate TIL scores in NPC from H&E-stained tissue slide images for NPC prognosis. We employed artificial intelligence and deep learning-based method for generating TIL score. Our results indicate that our methods have strong prognostic value compared to the EBV DNA copies in locoregional recurrence cases. Background: Locoregional recurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) occurs in 10% to 50% of cases following primary treatment. However, the current main prognostic markers for NPC, both stage and plasma Epstein–Barr virus DNA, are not sensitive to locoregional recurrence. Methods: We gathered 385 whole-slide images (WSIs) from haematoxylin and eosin (H&E)-stained NPC sections (n = 367 cases), which were collected from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Centre. We developed a deep learning algorithm to detect tumour nuclei and lymphocyte nuclei in WSIs, followed by density-based clustering to quantify the tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) into 12 scores. The Random Survival Forest model was then trained on the TILs to generate risk score. Results: Based on Kaplan–Meier analysis, the proposed methods were able to stratify low- and high-risk NPC cases in a validation set of locoregional recurrence with a statically significant result (p < 0.001). This finding was also found in distant metastasis-free survival (p < 0.001), progression-free survival (p < 0.001), and regional recurrence-free survival (p < 0.05). Furthermore, in both univariate analysis (HR: 1.58, CI: 1.13–2.19, p < 0.05) and multivariate analysis (HR:1.59, CI: 1.11–2.28, p < 0.05), we also found that our methods demonstrated a strong prognostic value for locoregional recurrence. The monitoring of physiological parameters is a crucial topic in promoting human health and an indispensable approach for assessing physiological status and diagnosing diseases. Particularly, it holds significant value for patients who require long-term monitoring or with underlying cardiovascular disease. To this end, Visual Contactless Physiological Monitoring (VCPM) is capable of using videos recorded by a consumer camera to monitor blood volume pulse (BVP) signal, heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR), oxygen saturation (SpO2) and blood pressure (BP). Recently, deep learning-based pipelines have attracted numerous scholars and achieved unprecedented development. Although VCPM is still an emerging digital medical technology and presents many challenges and opportunities, it has the potential to revolutionize clinical medicine, digital health, telemedicine as well as other areas. The VCPM technology presents a viable solution that can be integrated into these systems for measuring vital parameters during video consultation, owing to its merits of contactless measurement, cost-effectiveness, user-friendly passive monitoring and the sole requirement of an off-the-shelf camera. In fact, the studies of VCPM technologies have been rocketing recently, particularly AI-based approaches, but few are employed in clinical settings. Here we provide a comprehensive overview of the applications, challenges, and prospects of VCPM from the perspective of clinical settings and AI technologies for the first time. Machine learning (ML) models, especially deep neural networks, are increasingly being used for the analysis of medical images and as a supporting tool for clinical decision-making. In this study, we propose an artificial intelligence system to facilitate dental decision-making for the removal of mandibular third molars (M3M) based on 2-dimensional orthopantograms and the risk assessment of such a procedure. A total of 4,516 panoramic radiographic images collected at the Center of Dental Medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, were used for training the ML model. After image preparation and preprocessing, a spatially dependent U-Net was employed to detect and retrieve the region of the M3M and inferior alveolar nerve (IAN). Image patches identified to contain a M3M were automatically processed by a deep neural network for the classification of M3M superimposition over the IAN (task 1) and M3M root development (task 2). A control evaluation set of 120 images, collected from a different data source than the training data and labeled by 5 dental practitioners, was leveraged to reliably evaluate model performance. By 10-fold cross-validation, we achieved accuracy values of 0.94 and 0.93 for the M3M–IAN superimposition task and the M3M root development task, respectively, and accuracies of 0.9 and 0.87 when evaluated on the control data set, using a ResNet-101 trained in a semisupervised fashion. Matthew's correlation coefficient values of 0.82 and 0.75 for task 1 and task 2, evaluated on the control data set, indicate robust generalization of our model. Depending on the different label combinations of task 1 and task 2, we propose a diagnostic table that suggests whether additional imaging via 3-dimensional cone beam tomography is advisable. Ultimately, computer-aided decision-making tools benefit clinical practice by enabling efficient and risk-reduced decision-making and by supporting less experienced practitioners before the surgical removal of the M3M. Neuromorphic Computing, a concept pioneered in the late 1980s, is receiving a lot of attention lately due to its promise of reducing the computational energy, latency, as well as learning complexity in artificial neural networks. Taking inspiration from neuroscience, this interdisciplinary field performs a multi-stack optimization across devices, circuits, and algorithms by providing an end-to-end approach to achieving brain-like efficiency in machine intelligence. On one side, neuromorphic computing introduces a new algorithmic paradigm, known as Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs), which is a significant shift from standard deep learning and transmits information as spikes (“1” or “0”) rather than analog values. This has opened up novel algorithmic research directions to formulate methods to represent data in spike-trains, develop neuron models that can process information over time, design learning algorithms for event-driven dynamical systems, and engineer network architectures amenable to sparse, asynchronous, event-driven computing to achieve lower power consumption. On the other side, a parallel research thrust focuses on development of efficient computing platforms for new algorithms. Standard accelerators that are amenable to deep learning workloads are not particularly suitable to handle processing across multiple timesteps efficiently. To that effect, researchers have designed neuromorphic hardware that rely on event-driven sparse computations as well as efficient matrix operations. While most large-scale neuromorphic systems have been explored based on CMOS technology, recently, Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technologies show promise toward implementing bio-mimetic functionalities on single devices. In this article, we outline several strides that neuromorphic computing based on spiking neural networks (SNNs) has taken over the recent past, and we present our outlook on the challenges that this field needs to overcome to make the bio-plausibility route a successful one. With the rapid development of deep learning, computer vision has also become a rapidly developing field in the field of artificial intelligence. Combining the physical training of deep learning will bring good practical value. Physical training has different effects on people's body shape, physical function, and physical quality. It is mainly reflected in the changes of relevant physical indicators after physical training. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to study the method of evaluating the impact of sports training on physical indicators based on deep learning. This paper mainly uses the convolutional neural network in deep learning to design sports training, then constructs the evaluation system of physical index impact, and finally uses the deep learning algorithm to evaluate the impact of physical index. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the algorithm proposed in this paper is significantly higher than that of the other three algorithms. Firstly, in the angular motion, the accuracy of the mean algorithm is 0.4, the accuracy of the variance algorithm is 0.2, the accuracy of the RFE algorithm is 0.4, and the accuracy of the DLA algorithm is 0.6. Similarly, in foot racing and skill sports, the accuracy of the algorithm proposed in this paper is significantly higher than that of other algorithms. Background and Aims. Diagnosing pediatric intussusception from ultrasound images can be a difficult task in many primary care hospitals that lack experienced radiologists. To address this challenge, this study developed an artificial intelligence- (AI-) based system for automatic detection of "concentric circles" signs on ultrasound images, thereby improving the efficiency and accuracy of pediatric intussusception diagnosis. Methods. A total of 440 cases (373 pediatric intussusception and 67 normal cases) were retrospectively collected from Children's Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine from January 2020 to December 2020. An improved Faster RCNN deep learning framework was used to detect "concentric circle" signs. Finally, independent validation set was used to evaluate the performance of the developed AI tool. Results. The data of pediatric intussusception were divided into a training set and validation set according to the ratio of 8 : 2, with training set (298 pediatric intussusception) and validation set (75 pediatric intussusception and 67 normal cases). In the "concentric circle" detection model, the detection rate, recall, specificity, and F 1 score assessed by the validation set were 92.8%, 95.0%, 92.2%, and 86.4%, respectively. Pediatric intussusception was classified by "concentric circle" signs, and the accuracy, recall, specificity, and F 1 score were 93.0%, 92.0%, 94.1%, and 93.2% on the validation set, respectively. Conclusion. The model established in this paper can realize the automatic detection of "concentric circle" signs in the ultrasound images of abdominal intussusception in children; the AI tool can improve the diagnosis speed of pediatric intussusception. It is necessary to further develop an artificial intelligence system for real-time detection of "concentric circles" in ultrasound images for the judgment of children with intussusception. Certificates are often falsified, such as fake diplomas and forged transcripts. As such, many schools and educational institutions have begun to issue diplomas online. Although diplomas can be issued conveniently anytime, anywhere, there are many cases wherein diplomas are forged through hacking and forgery. This paper deals with the required Blockchain diploma. In addition, we use an automatic translation system, which incorporates natural language processing, to perform verification work that does not require an existing public certificate. The hash algorithm is used to authenticate security. This paper also proposes the use of these security protocols to provide more secure data protection. In addition, each transaction history, whether a diploma is true or not, may be different in length if it is presented in text, but converting it into a hash function means that it is always more than a certain length of SHA-512 or higher. It is then verified using the time stamp values. These chaining codes are designed. This paper also provides the necessary experimental environment. At least 10 nodes are constructed. Blockchain platform development applies and references Blockchain standardization, and a platform test, measurement test, and performance measurement test are conducted to assess the smart contract development and performance measurement. A total of 500 nodes were obtained by averaging 200 times, and a Blockchain-based diploma file was agreed upon at the same time. It shows performance information of about 4100 TPS. In addition, the analysis of artificial intelligence distribution diagram was conducted using a four-point method, and the distribution chart was evenly distributed, confirming the diploma with the highest similarity.
