Haze aerosols have a profound impact on air quality and pose serious health risks to the public. Due to its geographical location, Beijing experienced haze events in the spring of 2024. Lidar is an active remote sensing technology with a high spatiotemporal resolution and the ability to classify aerosols, and it is essential for effective haze monitoring. This study utilizes fluorescence–Raman–Mie polarization lidar with an emission wavelength of 355 nm, employing the δ p - G f method based on the particle depolarization ratio at 355 nm ( δ p 355 ) and the fluorescence capacity ( G f ), and combines meteorological data and backward-trajectory analysis to observe and classify low-altitude haze aerosols in Beijing during the spring of 2024. Notably, a mining dust event with strong fluorescence backscatter was detected. The haze aerosols were categorized into three types: pollution aerosols, desert dust, and mining dust. Their optical properties were summarized and compared. Desert dust showed a particle depolarization ratio range of 0.23–0.39 and a fluorescence capacity range from 0.18 × 10−4 to 0.63 × 10−4. Pollution aerosols had a larger fluorescence capacity but a lower depolarization ratio compared to desert dust, with a fluorescence capacity ranging from 0.55 × 10−4 to 1.10 × 10−4 and a depolarization ratio ranging from 0.10 to 0.17. Mining dust shared similar depolarization characteristics with desert dust but had a larger fluorescence capacity, ranging from 0.71 × 10−4 to 1.23 × 10−4, with a depolarization ratio range of 0.30–0.39. This study validates the effectiveness of the δ p 355 - G f method in classifying low-altitude haze aerosols in Beijing. Additionally, it offers a new perspective for more detailed dust classification using lidar. Furthermore, utilizing the δ p 355 - G f classification method and the δ p 355 - G f distributions of three typical aerosol samples, we developed a set of equations for the analysis of mixed aerosols. This method facilitates the separation and fraction analysis of aerosol components under various mixing scenarios. It enables the characterization of variations in the three types of haze aerosols at different altitudes and times, offering valuable insights into the interactions between desert dust, mining dust, and pollution aerosols in Beijing. Background: Esophageal cancer is a significant global health concern, ranking seventh in incidence and sixth in mortality. It encompasses two pathological types: esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and esophageal adenocarcinoma, with ESCC being more prevalent globally and associated with higher mortality rates. The POU (Pit-Oct-Unc) domain family transcription factors, comprising 15 members, play important roles in embryonic development and organ formation. Aberrant expression of POUs has been observed in several human cancers, influencing cell proliferation, tumor invasion, and drug resistance. However, their specific role in ESCC remains unknown. Methods: We analyzed TCGA and GEO databases to assess POUs expression in ESCC tissues. Kaplan-Meier and ROC analyses were used to evaluate the prognostic value of POUs. Gene Set Enrichment Analysis and Protein-Protein interaction network were used to explore the potential pathway. Functional assays (Cell Counting Kit-8, EdU Staining assay, and cloning formation assay) and mechanism analyses (RNA-seq, flow cytometry, and Western blot) were conducted to determine the effects of POU4F1 knockdown on ESCC cell phenotypes and signaling pathways. Results: POU4F1 and POU6F2 were upregulated in various cancer tissues, including ESCC, compared to normal tissues. POU4F1 expression was significantly correlated with patient survival and superior to previous models (AUC = 0.776). Knockdown of POU4F1 inhibited ESCC cell proliferation and affected cell cycle, autophagy, and DNA damage pathways in ESCC cells. Rare coding variants that substantially affect function provide insights into the biology of a gene1–3. However, ascertaining the frequency of such variants requires large sample sizes4–8. Here we present a catalogue of human protein-coding variation, derived from exome sequencing of 983,578 individuals across diverse populations. In total, 23% of the Regeneron Genetics Center Million Exome (RGC-ME) data come from individuals of African, East Asian, Indigenous American, Middle Eastern and South Asian ancestry. The catalogue includes more than 10.4 million missense and 1.1 million predicted loss-of-function (pLOF) variants. We identify individuals with rare biallelic pLOF variants in 4,848 genes, 1,751 of which have not been previously reported. From precise quantitative estimates of selection against heterozygous loss of function (LOF), we identify 3,988 LOF-intolerant genes, including 86 that were previously assessed as tolerant and 1,153 that lack established disease annotation. We also define regions of missense depletion at high resolution. Notably, 1,482 genes have regions that are depleted of missense variants despite being tolerant of pLOF variants. Finally, we estimate that 3% of individuals have a clinically actionable genetic variant, and that 11,773 variants reported in ClinVar with unknown significance are likely to be deleterious cryptic splice sites. To facilitate variant interpretation and genetics-informed precision medicine, we make this resource of coding variation from the RGC-ME dataset publicly accessible through a variant allele frequency browser.A dataset of coding variation, derived from exome sequencing of nearly one million individuals from a range of ancestries, provides insight into rare variants and could accelerate the discovery of disease-associated genes and advance precision medicine efforts. The Dingwu Great Famine (DGF) is considered to be the worst drought in China over the past 300 years. How the central government took steps to cope with the catastrophe during this period and ultimately survived deserves in-depth study. This paper collects the official records during the DGF and uses textual analysis and statistical methods to explore the responses carried by the central government. We found that 21 measures in 7 categories had been taken in response to this extreme drought, with political, economic, and cultural responses being the most commonly used. The governmental responses during DGF can be divided into three phases and had a significant “mismatch” (6 months lagging behind) compared with the meteorological process, which may be related to the higher social robustness in the early period. The 7 categories can be further clustered into 3 types based on their time-series performance. The first type includes economic, material, and political responses, which were aimed at responding to the drought impacts and reducing social losses more quickly and played the role of a “quick effect drug” for society. The second type includes agricultural and engineering, and population responses, which mitigated the drought impacts through “after-effects” measures and played the role of “slow-release drug”. The third type is the cultural response, which acted like a “placebo”. It did not help to mitigate the drought but alleviated the dissatisfaction of the refugees by shaping the spiritual objects (rain gods), thus maintaining social stability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

(1) Background Promoting scale management has become an inevitable way to solve the problem of forestland fragmentation, which is of great significance to realize the modernization of forestry. However, due to the increase of labor cost and forestry production risk and the high transaction cost, the implementation effect of both land scale management and service scale management is not satisfactory. Nowadays, most scholars have paid attention to the coexistence of land scale management and service scale management, and carried out relevant studies with traditional small-scale farmers as an example, but few studies have discussed the implementation effect of "dual-scale" management mode with the new-type forestry management entities as an example. (2)Methods The research data came from the research group' s survey and interview of the new-type forestry management entities in 20 key forestry counties (cities and districts) in Fujian Province in August 2021 and July 2023, and a total of 299 valid questionnaires were obtained. This paper selected the family income of the new-type forestry management entities as the explained variable, the dual-scale management mode as the core explanatory variable, and the characteristics of the persons in charge of the management entities, the management entities and the external environment as the control variables. The coupling coordination model and propensity score matching method were used to empirically analyze the impacts of dual-scale management on the total family income and the heterogeneity of income structure of the management entities. (3) Results First, in the OLS model, the coefficient of the total family income of the management entities is 2.299, and p<0.01. The dual-scale management has a significant promotion effect on the total family income of the management entities, and the higher the coupling coordination degree of the dual-scale management, the stronger the effect of income increase. Second, the dual-scale management has a significant promotion effect on the forestry management income of the management entities, but at the same time it will significantly reduce their wage income. Third, the regression results of dividing the new-type forestry management entities into family forest farms and forestry cooperatives show that the promotion effect of dual-scale management on the income of the forestry cooperatives is much greater than that of family forest farms. Fourth, the regression results on the degree of employment diversification of the new-type forestry management entities show that dual-scale management has a significant promotion effect on the total family income of pure farmers or low-diversified employment households, but has no significant effect on the total family income of highly-diversified employment households. (4) Conclusions and Discussions Based on the above research conclusions, the following policy recommendations are put forward: First, encourage the development of various forms of scale management and support the promotion and development of dual-scale management models. Second, strengthen the guidance and service of forestry technology, and enhance the level of specialized management of the forest farmers. Third, implement different measures to promote the development of various new-types of forestry management entities, and then give full play to the potential and role of different types of management entities in promoting the development of forestry economy. Molybdenum diselenide (MoSe2) is a promising anode for alkali-ion storage due to its intrinsic advantages. However, MoSe2 still encounters the issues of structural instability and poor rate performance caused by drastic volume change and sluggish reaction kinetics. Reasonable design of electrode structure is crucial for achieving superior electrochemical performance. Herein, a novel hierarchical structure coupled with 1D/1D subunits is elaborately designed and constructed, in which the MoSe2/CoSe2 heterostructure is the "trunk" and the N-doped carbon nanotubes are the "branches" (MoSe2/CoSe2/NCNTs). Benefiting from the properties endowed by unique configurations, MoSe2/CoSe2/NCNTs electrodes manifest faster reaction kinetics and better structure durability. Evaluated as an anode for LIBs and SIBs, MoSe2/CoSe2/NCNTs deliver high reversible capacity, superior rate capability (452 at 10 A g−1 in LIBs and 296 at 10 A g−1 in SIBs), and prominent cycle life (553 after 2000 cycles at 5 A g−1 in LIBs and 310 after 2000 cycles at 5 A g−1 in SIBs). Forest microclimates can contrast substantially from the macroclimate outside forests. These microclimates regulate understory biodiversity and ecosystem functions. Studies have quantified the global patterns and driving factors of forest understory temperature offsets, but data from China were almost missing, making the global assessment incomplete. To fill this knowledge gap, we quantitatively synthesized 494 paired observations from China extracted from 91 publications to quantify mean (Tmean), maximum (Tmax) and minimum temperature offsets (Tmin). Results showed that (1) forest canopies significantly buffered understory Tmean and Tmax against macroclimatic temperature, with average offsets of 1.0 and 1.5°C, respectively, while understory Tmin offsets were not significantly different from zero; (2) forest type (broadleaved, mixed, vs. coniferous) and forest location (rural vs. urban) did not affect Tmean, Tmax or Tmin offsets, but climate zone and season showed significant impacts; and (3) macroclimatic temperature, wind speed, tree height and canopy density also impacted temperature offsets, although their effects varied among Tmean, Tmax and Tmin. Our results complement the global assessment of forest buffering capacity, and reiterate the necessity for incorporating microclimatic variability into future bioclimatic modelling of species demography and distributions. Objective: This study explores the correlation between life satisfaction and ADHD symptoms. It also discusses whether resilience mediates the correlation between ADHD symptoms and life satisfaction. Method: We surveyed 297 dental students. A total of 291 completed a self-report scale consisting of the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale, Wender Utah Rating Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale, and Conner–Davidson Resilience Scale. The study used hierarchical linear regression analysis, resampling, and asymptotic strategies for data processing. Results: The ADHD screening results of the self-report scale were positive for 6.87% of the students. This positive rate differed among participants of diverse ages and varying paternal education levels. ADHD symptoms were negatively correlated with life satisfaction and resilience. Life satisfaction was observably positively associated with resilience. Resilience serves as a mediating role between life satisfaction and the two symptoms of ADHD. Conclusion: Resilience intervention programs can enhance the life satisfaction of dental students, especially those with positive ADHD symptoms screening. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Malachite is one of the most important copper-bearing oxide minerals; however, it shows poor floatability prior to sulfidization under the thiol collector system. This study investigated the reasons for the low recovery of malachite flotation without sulfidization. The results of adsorption capacity and contact angle test indicated that the malachite surface could adsorb a sufficient amount of the collector, obviously increasing the hydrophobicity of the malachite surface under static conditions. By measuring the amount of inorganic carbon in the flotation solution, it was found that the amount of inorganic carbon in the solution increased significantly when the thiol collectors were added into pulp, which could be attributed to the induced dissolution of the malachite surface by thiol collectors. Solubility tests further demonstrated that the copper ions released from the natural dissolution of malachite proved difficult in regard to reactions with thiol collector to form precipitates; however, the thiol collector induced the dissolution of malachite surface, and so the hydrophobic complexes' copper-collector could not firmly adsorb on the mineral surface. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis revealed that thiol collectors do not adsorb stably on malachite surfaces. The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has led many companies to embrace AI-oriented changes; leaders' AI-oriented change behaviors have therefore become increasingly prevalent in contemporary organizations. However, knowledge on the effects of such behavior remains limited. Additionally, literature on change-oriented behavior (e.g., taking charge, change-oriented citizenship) has uniformly demonstrated that it is beneficial for employees, teams, and organizations. We challenge this consensus by revealing that leaders' AI-oriented change behavior has mixed effects on employee outcomes. In Study 1, we developed a scale for leaders' AI-oriented change behavior and assessed its psychometric properties using samples from the United States. In Study 2, we tested our full model with a three-wave, multi-source field study in China. The results show that leaders' AI-oriented change behavior is positively associated with employee performance orientation, in turn increasing both employee job performance and unethical behaviors. Furthermore, employee trait competitiveness moderates the positive effect of leaders' AI-oriented change behavior on employee job performance and unethical behavior via employee performance orientation. By revealing the perils and benefits of leaders' AI-oriented change behavior, our research contributes to the literature on change-oriented behavior and performance orientation. Defensin-like proteins are conserved in multicellular organisms and contribute to innate immune responses against fungal pathogens. In rice, defensins play a novel role in regulating cadmium (Cd) efflux from the cytosol. However, whether the antifungal activity of defensins correlates with Cd-efflux function remains unknown. In this study, we isolated an endophytic Fusarium , designed Fo 10, by a comparative microbiome analysis of rice plants grown in a paddy contaminated with Cd. Fo 10 is tolerant to high levels of Cd, but is sensitive to the defensin-like protein OsCAL1, which mediates Cd efflux to the apoplast. We found that Fo 10 symbiosis in rice is regulated by OsCAL1 dynamics, and Fo 10 coordinates multiple plant processes, including Cd uptake, vacuolar sequestration, efflux to the environment, and formation of Fe plaques in the rhizosphere. These processes are dependent on the salicylic acid signaling pathway to keep Cd levels low in the cytosol of rice cells and to decrease Cd levels in rice grains without any yield penalty. Fo 10 also plays a role in Cd tolerance in the poaceous crop maize and wheat, but has no observed effects in the eudicot plants Arabidopsis and tomato. Taken together, these findings provide insights into the mechanistic basis underlying how a fungal endophyte and host plant interact to control Cd accumulation in host plants by adapting defense responses to promote the establishment of a symbiosis that permits adaptation to high-Cd environments. This study identifies an endophytic Fusarium Fo 10 that interacts reciprocally with the defensin-like protein OsCAL1 to reduce cytosolic Cd levels in rice. The terrible shuttling of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) is a major obstacle for commercializing lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries as high‐performance energy storage systems. In this study, a carbon‐based interlayer with effective suppression capability on the shuttle effect is developed by simply coating a well‐dispersed mixture of soybean protein isolate/MXene onto the acidified carbon paper (ACP). The resultant composite interlayer (SM@ACP) is able to synergistically diminish the shuttle effect through chemical adsorption and physical blocking. Meanwhile, this interlayer displays excellent conductivity and facilitates the diffusion of Li ions due to the composite coating to promote both electron/ion conduction as well as the porous structure of ACP. Benefiting from the unique properties of the composite interlayer, the as‐assembled Li–S batteries with SM@ACP interlayers show a great improvement in the cycling stability and rate performance, delivering a very low‐capacity decay rate of 0.071% per cycle at 0.5 C even after 800 cycles. Systematically understanding the theoretical implications of the planetary boundaries (PB) framework and expanding its application in the theoretical system of sustainable development is strategic for tracking the frontiers of international sustainable development research and extending the paths of China's sustainable development practice. Based on the implications and characteristics of the planetary boundaries framework, this study explores its value contribution in the field of sustainable development research from three aspects: thinking paradigm, evaluation methodology, and global governance. This framework deepens the understanding of the shift of the relationships between economy, society, and the environment from a growth model to an inclusive one through the quantifica-tion of the ' safe operating space' for human activities, exhibiting the characteristic of ' strong constraints.' The integration of quantifi-able boundaries with environmental sustainability assessment methods such as life cycle assessment, footprint family, and input-output analysis further develops the toolkits for sustainable development assessment. Moreover, the integration and application of the framework with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) system enhances the global influence of this theory. The concept of ecological civilization is a new paradigm and manifestation based on the crystallization of local experience, containing solid theoretical and practical foundations. It is an important point of departure for the localization of the PB framework and practice to dialectically understand its logical relationship with the idea of ecological civilization from the concepts, such as only one earth and rational growth, and the differences in the logical action. Based on these, the study puts forward new thoughts to further promote the implementation of China's sustainable development strategy. With the help of the PB framework, we can explore the modernization direction of the harmo-nious coexistence of human beings and nature, improve the basic cognition of this coexistence, and deepen its beneficial collision with China's environmental governance capabilities and modernization of governance system. Multi-dimensional explorations, such as expanding the research scale of SDGs-PB, heterogeneity adjustments, and strengthening data support, are conducive to promoting the organic integration of the PB framework with China's SDGs. We can give full play to the function of this framework as a methodological tool to support the realization of China's 'dual carbon' goals, focusing on the boundary constraints in the economic system of green, low-carbon, and recycling development and the setting of thresholds in the tasks of achieving the ' dual carbon' goals. The carbon emission reduction behaviour of enterprises is a crucial element for achieving the "double-carbon" target. Based on the panel data of China's Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share nonfinancial listed companies from 2008 to 2022, this paper explores the impact of corporate carbon emission reduction on financing constraints using the fixed effect model and further dissects the path and heterogeneity of its impact. The results show that carbon emission reduction can significantly alleviate the level of financing constraints. The path test shows that corporate carbon emission reduction alleviates financing constraints through gaining business credit, improving information transparency, and increasing government subsidies. The heterogeneity analysis shows that carbon emission reduction in less economically developed regions, non-heavily polluting industries, and nonstate-owned enterprises has a better effect on alleviating financing constraints than in economically developed regions, heavily polluting industries and state-owned enterprises. Additionally, relevant policy recommendations are put forward, which are conducive to promoting enterprises to actively reduce carbon emissions and facilitate the achievement of the dual carbon goal. Glioblastoma is the most common and aggressive form of primary brain cancer and the lack of viable treatment options has created an urgency to develop novel treatments. Personalized or predictive medicine is still in its infancy stage at present. This research aimed to discover biomarkers to inform disease progression and to develop personalized prophylactic and therapeutic strategies by combining state-of-the-art technologies such as single-cell RNA sequencing, systems pharmacology, and a polypharmacological approach. As predicted in the pyroptosis-related gene (PRG) transcription factor (TF) microRNA (miRNA) regulatory network, TP53 was the hub gene in the pyroptosis process in glioblastoma (GBM). A LASSO Cox regression model of pyroptosis-related genes was built to accurately and conveniently predict the one-, two-, and three-year overall survival rates of GBM patients. The top-scoring five natural compounds were parthenolide, rutin, baeomycesic acid, luteolin, and kaempferol, which have NFKB inhibition, antioxidant, lipoxygenase inhibition, glucosidase inhibition, and estrogen receptor agonism properties, respectively. In contrast, the analysis of the cell-type-specific differential expression-related targets of natural compounds showed that the top five subtype cells targeted by natural compounds were endothelial cells, microglia/macrophages, oligodendrocytes, dendritic cells, and neutrophil cells. The current approach—using the pharmacogenomic analysis of combined therapies—serves as a model for novel personalized therapeutic strategies for GBM treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Passivation of the buried interface benefits the poor crystallization of perovskite films caused by defects, improves the interface contact with the electron transport layer and inhibits severe non-radiative recombination. The 4′-methoxy-2′-nitroacetanilide (ANE) molecule has a variety of active sites, including C＝O, C–O–C and NOO, and is promising to be used as an interface modifier in perovskite solar cells. Our research confirms that ANE could reduce defects by forming chemical interactions with both SnO2 and the perovskite layer. The quality of the perovskite and SnO2 is enhanced with suppressed non-radiative recombination. Finally, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of a champion device is improved to 22.63%. The target device retains 92% of its initial PCE (22.27%) after 1200 hour storage in the air. Currently, the integrated development of agriculture and tourism is one of the most critical strategic measures in China. The rapid growth of agricultural tourism integration presents the typical characteristics of expanding regional differences. Exploring the impact of agricultural tourism integration on the growth of green total factor productivity in agriculture has important theoretical and practical significance. This study constructs a comprehensive index system for agricultural tourism integration, measuring the development level of agricultural tourism integration in 30 sample provinces from 2008 to 2018. Using the generalized system method of moments approach and Tobit model, the impact of agricultural tourism integration on agriculture was empirically tested, and the regulatory role of rural human capital was discussed. It was found that agricultural tourism integration contributes significantly to the improvement in green total factor productivity in agriculture, with rural mobility human capital, education human capital, and health human capital all playing a significant positive moderating role in this process. Finally, it is recommended that priority be given to agricultural tourism integration in the policy framework, promoting industrial chain upgrading, raising investment in rural infrastructure, and upgrading rural human capital levels to contribute the rural economic development. Non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains the most common malignant cancer. We identified 43140 advanced NSCLC patients from the SEER database to develop and validate a new prognostic model. The prognostic performance was evaluated by P value, concordance index, net reclassification index, integrated discrimination improvement, and decision curve analysis. The following variables were contained in the final prognostic model: age, sex, race, TNM stage, and grade and treatment options. Compared to the AJCC staging system, this prognostic model is conducive to the implementation of individualized clinical treatment schemes and can be an important part of the precise medical care of NSCLC tumors. Emotional eating has emerged as a significant disordered eating and public health concern among adolescents. Despite the widespread prevalence of social networking site (SNS) use among this population, research investigating the influence of SNS use on adolescent eating behaviors remains limited. This study is to examine the impact of SNS use on emotional eating among Chinese adolescents, with a specific focus on exploring the mediating role of negative social comparisons and the moderating effect of perspective-taking. Data were obtained through an online survey involving 778 middle school students in China. The findings indicate that SNS use exerts a positive influence on adolescents' engagement in emotional eating, with this association being mediated by the presence of negative social comparisons. Perspective-taking demonstrated a protective role in the context of adolescents' utilization of social media platforms. For individuals characterized by high levels of perspective-taking, the effects of SNS use on negative social comparisons are mitigated, subsequently reducing its impact on emotional eating. Urban shrinkage has gradually become an issue of world-concerning social matter. As urbanization progresses, some Chinese cities are experiencing population loss and economic decline. Our study attempts to correct and integrate DMSP/OLS and NPP/VIIRS data to complete the identification and measurement of shrinking cities in China's Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB). We identified 36 shrinking cities and 644 shrinking counties on the municipal and county scales. Based on this approach, we established the average urban shrinkage intensity index and the urban shrinkage frequency index, attempting to find out the causes of shrinking cities for different shrinkage characteristics, city types and shrinkage frequencies. The results show that (1) the shrinking cities are mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, the midstream city cluster and the Chengdu–Chongqing economic circle. Purpose: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is ranked the top otorhinolaryngology malignant tumors in the world. However, the general prognosis of recurrent and metastatic (R/M) nasopharyngeal carcinomas (NPCs) remains poor, and current surgery and chemoradiotherapy do not generate satisfactory outcomes. Methods: As a new therapeutic choice, immunotherapy, especially with regard to the development of checkpoint inhibitors including PD-1 and CTLA-4 inhibitors have made considerable progress in recent years. As Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is associated with increased risk of NPC, EBV-related immunotherapy may lead to a breakthrough in advanced NPCs. Results: In this review, we summarized the clinical characters of NPC, and several past and ongoing clinical trials of checkpoint inhibitors and EBV-CTLs (CTLs: cytotoxic T lymphocytes) in R/M NPC immunotherapy. Conclusion: We conclude that although the evaluated effects of new immunotherapy drugs have brought us hope on NPC treatment, further phase II-III trials with larger samples are still required to improve the proportion and scheme of drug collocation for better clinical outcomes and less drug-related safety. It is necessary to pursue the economic and social development of humanity to cope with the challenges of the global ecological environment within the constraints of planetary boundaries. For constructing the evaluation model of human development considering the earth pressure from the sub-national level, and observing the changes of human development level under the earth pressure in China in recent years, this paper constructs the PB-HDI (Planetary Boundaries-Human Development Index) index to measure the human development level under planetary boundaries in 30 Chinese provinces of 2010, 2014, 2017, and 2020; and carries out the analysis of evolutionary characteristics and spatial heterogeneity inspired by the path of balancing the relationship between environmental protection and economic development in China. We found: (1) the regional PB-HDI differences show a convergence trend, with a gradual decrease in low-level provinces; (2) the regional heterogeneity of PB-HDI is obvious. The differences between eastern provinces are the largest; (3) resources and environment constitute the outer circle of economic and social development, forming a "doughnut" inclusion pattern that discourages high-level development beyond the boundary and low-level development within the boundary. In general, there are significant differences in economic development, environmental protection level, social security capacity, industrial structure, innovation level, policy environment, and other basic conditions among different regions of China, and sustainable development paths need to be determined according to local conditions. Affected by the small scale of forest farmers' land and the imperfect development of the forest land transfer market, China's forest rights mortgage loans have suffered from more serious credit rationing. The application of financial linkage theoretically has the effect of solving credit rationing. However, previous studies on financial linkages have focused on the field of credit lending, whereas the applied studies in the field of mortgage lending are mainly case studies on transaction models, and empirical tests on the application of financial linkages in mortgage lending are lacking. Therefore, to fill this gap, this study analyzed the effect of financial linkage on credit rationing for forestry mortgage loans and the mechanism of action through a study of farmers in Fujian, one of the key collective forestry areas in China, using the PSM method with 785 sample values. The results show the following: (1) Financial linkages have a significant mitigating effect on supply rationing, demand rationing, and the total rationing of forest rights mortgage loans. Compared to non-participation, financial linkages significantly reduced total rationing by 15.2%, with a 5% reduction in supply rationing and a 10.2% reduction in demand rationing. (2) The impact of financial linkage differs significantly among heterogeneous farmers. It has a significant mitigating effect on supply rationing for small-scale farmers, but not for large-scale farmers; meanwhile, it better mitigates demand rationing for large-scale farmers than for small-scale farmers. (3) In the mechanistic test, financial linkages were found to moderate the relationship between the value of collateral and supply rationing for small-scale farmers, and transaction costs play an intermediary role in the relationship between financial linkages and demand-based rationing. According to the study results, in order to promote the development of forest rights mortgage loans, it is necessary to develop different lending strategies for heterogeneous farmers, to further encourage small- and medium-sized farmers to participate in financial linkages, as well as to further reduce the related transaction costs. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication and associated with a poor clinical outcome. In this study, we developed and validated a model for predicting the risk of AKI through machine learning methods in critical care patients with acute cerebrovascular disease. This study was a retrospective study based on two different cohorts. Five machine learning methods were used to develop AKI risk prediction models. We used six popular metrics (AUROC, F2-Score, accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and precision) to evaluate the performance of these models. We identified 2935 patients in the MIMIC-III database and 499 patients in our local database to develop and validate the AKI risk prediction model. The incidence of AKI in these two different cohorts was 18.3% and 61.7%, respectively. Analysis showed that several laboratory parameters (serum creatinine, hemoglobin, white blood cell count, bicarbonate, blood urea nitrogen, sodium, albumin, and platelet count), age, and length of hospital stay, were the top ten important factors associated with AKI. The analysis demonstrated that the XGBoost had higher AUROC (0.880, 95%CI: 0.831–0.929), indicating that the XGBoost model was better at predicting AKI risk in patients with acute cerebrovascular disease than other models. This study developed machine learning methods to identify critically ill patients with acute cerebrovascular disease who are at a high risk of developing AKI. A novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a pandemic disease has caused 4 million deaths and more than 200 million infections worldwide (as of August 4, 2021). Rapid and accurate diagnosis of COVID-19 infection is critical to controlling the spread of the epidemic. In order to quickly and efficiently detect COVID-19 and reduce the threat of COVID-19 to human survival, we have firstly proposed a detection framework based on reinforcement learning for COVID-19 diagnosis, which constructs a mixed loss function that can integrate the advantages of multiple loss functions. This paper uses the accuracy of the validation set as the reward value, and obtains the initial model for the next epoch by searching the model corresponding to the maximum reward value in each epoch. We also have proposed a prediction framework that integrates multiple detection frameworks using parameter sharing to predict the progression of patients' disease without additional training. This paper also constructed a higher-quality version of the CT image dataset containing 247 cases screened by professional physicians, and obtained more excellent results on this dataset. Meanwhile, we used the other two COVID-19 datasets as external verifications, and still achieved a high accuracy rate without additional training. Finally, the experimental results show that our classification accuracy can reach 98.31%, and the precision, sensitivity, specificity, and AUC (Area Under Curve) are 98.82%, 97.99%, 98.67%, and 0.989, respectively. The accuracy of external verification can reach 93.34% and 91.05%. What's more, the accuracy of our prediction framework is 91.54%. What Is Known and Objective: There are few reports on the distribution of the plasma trough concentration (Cmin) of teicoplanin in patients with augmented renal clearance (ARC) and on the safety of a high‐dose regimen (HD; 800 mg loading dose for q12h three times followed by an 800 mg qd maintenance dose). The objective of this study was to determine the Cmin values of teicoplanin in ARC patients using HD teicoplanin to provide a reference for individualized medication. Methods: Data on patients treated with teicoplanin from January 2019 to January 2021 were collected retrospectively and divided into ARC (creatinine clearance rate [CCr] >130 ml/min, n = 22) and non‐ARC (60 ml/min ≤ CCr ≤130 ml/min, n = 24) groups. The Cmin values in the two patient groups were analysed during the HD and the low‐dose regimen (LD; all other regimens) on the third day of medication and during the dose maintenance period. Liver and kidney function indexes were also analysed before and after medication. Results and Discussions: On the third day of the HD, Cmin did not differ significantly between the ARC and non‐ARC groups (17.3 ± 9.2 mg/L [mean ± SD] vs. 15.5 ± 7.9 mg/L, p = 0.663), while Cmin in the ARC group was significantly lower for the LD (6.8 ± 3.9 mg/L, p = 0.039). During the dose maintenance period, Cmin in the ARC group when receiving the HD (18.3 ± 5.1 mg/L) was significantly lower than that in the non‐ARC group (25.5 ± 11.9 mg/L, p = 0.016) and significantly higher than that for the LD (12.2 ± 6.3 mg/L, p = 0.022). Nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity incidence rates did not differ significantly between these groups. What Is New and Conclusion: These results suggest that it is necessary to apply a loading dose of 800 mg (but not higher) q12h three times for patients with ARC, with 800 mg needed as a maintenance dose during severe infection, and 600 mg or 400 mg for mild infection. Oleum Cinnamomi is a traditional medicine used by the Hmong, the essential oil obtained from Fructus Cinnamomi, for the treatment of coronary heart disease. Information regarding the efficient quality control markers of it is lacking, which has become a bottleneck restricting its development and utilization. Here, an integrated qualitative analysis approach based on a GC-MS and network pharmacology strategy was applied to explore quality control markers for the assessment of Oleum Cinnamomi. Firstly, the compounds of Oleum Cinnamomi were detected by GC-MS. In total, 57 chemical components were identified, mainly monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, accounting for 83.05% of total essential oil components. Secondly, network pharmacology was adopted to explore the compounds linked to target genes of coronary heart disease. Fifty-two compounds were found, indicating the effectiveness of Oleum Cinnamomi in the treatment of coronary heart disease. Among them, 10 compounds, including eucalyptol, were chosen as potential effective compounds in Oleum Cinnamomi. Thirdly, an established GC-MS SIM method was validated and applied for the simultaneous determination of the contents of these 10 compounds using 20 sample batches of Oleum Cinnamomi. It was preliminarily found that the contents of these 10 compounds differed in Oleum Cinnamomi from different origins. Finally, quantitative analyte data were analyzed using multivariate statistical analysis to determine Oleum Cinnamomi quality. Four compounds (eucalyptol, p-cymene, sabinene, β-pinene) were identified as chemical markers for quality control. The planetary boundaries concept has triggered a vast amount of pure and applied scientific research, as well as policy and governance activities globally. Indeed, it has rapidly become a centerpiece of sustainability study. It is crucial to review the scientific state of the planetary boundaries (PB) concept systematically. However, there is a lack of research on drawing a scientific investigation map of planetary boundaries. Therefore, to clarify the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, research hotspots, and frontiers of planetary boundaries, a scientometric analysis was performed based on 530 academic publications on planetary boundaries from 2009 to 2021. This paper conducted the analysis by visualizing the social network, dual-map overlay, co-cited references, structure variation article, and co-occurrence keywords with CiteSpace. The results show that as a new achievement and paradigm in sustainable development research, the planetary boundaries framework is gradually getting global attention and promotion, which has increasingly become an interdisciplinary hot research topic. The most productive authors and institutions are concentrated in England, the USA, Germany, and Sweden. Relevant articles were mainly published in journals focusing on ecology, earth, marine, veterinary, animal, economics, and politics. In addition, we summarized four predominant research themes by clustering keywords: the calculation of single boundary threshold and present value, the integration with assessment methods such as life cycle assessment and footprint families, the downscaling of planetary boundaries, and the expansion to economic and social domains. Laryngeal disease classification is a relatively hard task in medical image processing resulting from its complex structures and varying viewpoints in data collection. Some existing methods try to tackle this task via the convolutional neural network, but they more or less ignore the intrinsic difficulty differences among different input samples and suffer from high training complexity. In order to better resolve these problems, an end-to-end Hierarchical Dynamic Convolutional Network (HDCNet) is proposed, which can dynamically process the input samples based on their difficulty. For the easy-classified samples, the HDCNet processes them with a smaller resolution and a relatively small network, while the difficult samples are passed to a large network with a larger resolution for more accurate classification results. Furthermore, a Feature Reuse Module (FRM) is designed to transfer the features learned by the small network to the corresponding block in the deep network to enhance the overall performance of some rather complicated samples. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed HDCNet, comprehensive experiments are conducted on the public available laryngeal disease classification dataset and HDCNet provides superior performances compared with other current state-of-the-art methods. Although single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) had potential application in self-powered systems for wearable thermoelectric devices due to their light weight, flexibility, and high conductivity, how to improve their thermoelectric properties was still a great challenge. In this study, to improve the thermoelectric properties, aniline tetramer (ANIT) has been assembled on the surface of SWCNTs via π-π interaction to form ANIT/SWCNT films. The thermoelectric properties had been optimized via tuning the microstructure of ANIT/SWCNT. When the SWCNTs were coated by ANIT layer with several nanometer thicknesses, the carrier concentration and carrier mobility was optimized and matched to high thermoelectric properties. Compared to pure SWCNTs, the Seebeck coefficient of ANIT/SWCNT was increased greatly, and the electrical conductivity hardly changed. A maximum power factor of 98.7 μW·m−1·K−2 at 298 K was obtained for the ANIT/SWCNT (10:100), showing a 68% increase compared to pure SWCNTs. Therefore, the doping of ANIT into SWCNT provided a new method for improving the thermoelectric properties of SWCNTs based materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Photothermal therapy is a promising tumor ablation technique that converts light into heat energy to kill cancer cells. Prussian blue (PB), a biocompatible photothermal reagent, has been widely explored for cancer treatment. However, the translational potential of PB is severely hampered by its low photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) and poor stability. To tackle these issues, we adopted the biomineralization modality where PB was integrated with calcium phosphate (CaP) through the binding between calcium ions and PB. The mineralized PB (CaP&PB) demonstrated significantly improved PCE (40.2%), resulting from a calcium-induced bandgap-narrowing effect, and exhibited superior suspension stability. Using a 4T1 orthotopic breast cancer BALB/c mouse model, we observed that mineralized PB showed a significant temperature increase within the tumor, which led to better tumoricidal activity compared with CaP and PB when identical NIR treatment was applied. These achievements demonstrated the success of introducing calcium phosphate into Prussian blue by biomineralization to improve the PCE and stability of photothermal reagents, suggesting an alternative translational strategy for enhanced cancer photothermal therapy. Purpose: Left ventricular aneurysm (LVA) is a severe and common mechanical comorbidity with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) that can present high mortality and serious adverse outcomes. Accordingly, there is a need for early identification and prevention of patients at risk of LVA. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a risk prediction model for LVA among AMI patients in Northwest China. Methods: A total of 509 patients with AMI were retrospectively collected between January 2018 and August 2021. All patients were randomly divided into a training group (n=356) and a validation group (n=153). Potential risk factors for LVA were screened for predictive modelling using least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression, multivariate logistic regression, clinical relevance, and represented by a comprehensive nomogram. Receiver operating characteristic curve, calibration curve, and decision-curve analysis (DCA) were used to assess the discrimination capacity, calibration, and clinical validity, respectively. Results: Seven predictors were finally identified for the establishment of prediction model, including age, cardiovascular disease history, left ventricular ejection fraction, ST-segment elevation, percutaneous coronary intervention history, mean platelet volume, and aspartate aminotransferase. The prediction model achieved acceptable areas under the curves of 0.901 (95% confidence interval [CI]=0.868– 0.933) and 0.908 (95% CI=0.861– 0.956) in the training and validation groups, respectively, and the calibration curves fit well in our model. The DCA result indicated that this nomogram exhibited a favorable performance in terms of clinical utility. Conclusion: An accurate prediction model for LVA development established, which can be applied to rapidly assess the risk of LVA in patients with AMI. Objective: To compare the recurrence rate of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) after treatment with 0.3 mg vs. 0.25 mg ranibizumab.Subjects: All patients with ROP who underwent intravitreal injection of ranibizumab in Hainan General Hospital between January 2014 and May 2020 were included in this retrospective study.Methods: Eighty-two cases (146 eyes) who received intravitreal injection of 0.25 mg ranibizumab were included in the conventional-dose group, and 59 cases (108 eyes) who received intravitreal injection of 0.3 mg ranibizumab were included in the high-dose group. The two groups were further divided into the 25-28-week, 29-31-week, 32-34-week, and 35-36-week GA subgroups. The differences between the conventional-dose group and the high-dose group in gestational age (GA), birth weight (BW), age at initial injection (weeks), incidence of systemic diseases, the recurrence rate of ROP, and age at retinal vascularization completed (weeks) were analyzed.Results: GA, BW, age at initial injection, and the incidence of systemic diseases were not significantly different between the conventional-dose group and the high-dose group (p > 0.05). The recurrence rates of ROP were significantly lower in the 25-28-week, 29-31-week, and 32-34-week subgroups of the high-dose group than in the same subgroups of the conventional-dose group (p < 0.05). Within the conventional-dose group, the recurrence rate of ROP was significantly lower in the 32-34-week and 35-36-week subgroups than in the 25-28-week and 29-31-week subgroups (p < 0.05). Within the high-dose group, the recurrence rate of ROP was not significantly different between the four subgroups (p > 0.05). Retinal vascularization was completed at a later age in the 32-34-week subgroup of the high-dose group than in the 32-34-week subgroup of the conventional-dose group (p < 0.05) but was not significantly different between the two groups at any other GA range (p > 0.05). No severe ocular or systemic complications occurred in any patient.Conclusion: Treatment with 0.3 mg ranibizumab can reduce the recurrence rate of ROP without prolonging retinal vascularization or causing serious systemic complications. To better understand the genetics of hearing loss, we performed a genome-wide association meta-analysis with 125,749 cases and 469,497 controls across five cohorts. We identified 53/c loci affecting hearing loss risk, including common coding variants in COL9A3 and TMPRSS3. Through exome sequencing of 108,415 cases and 329,581 controls, we observed rare coding associations with 11 Mendelian hearing loss genes, including additive effects in known hearing loss genes GJB2 (Gly12fs; odds ratio [OR] = 1.21, P = 4.2 × 10−11) and SLC26A5 (gene burden; OR = 1.96, P = 2.8 × 10−17). We also identified hearing loss associations with rare coding variants in FSCN2 (OR = 1.14, P = 1.9 × 10−15) and KLHDC7B (OR = 2.14, P = 5.2 × 10−30). Our results suggest a shared etiology between Mendelian and common hearing loss in adults. This work illustrates the potential of large-scale exome sequencing to elucidate the genetic architecture of common disorders where both common and rare variation contribute to risk. A GWAS and exome-wide association study meta-analysis identifies 53 loci affecting hearing loss risk from over half a million individuals across five cohorts. Complexly distributed aerosol particles have significant impacts on climate and environmental changes. As one of the vital atmospheric power sources, the wind field deeply affects the distribution and transport of aerosol particles. For a more comprehensive investigation of the aerosols flux and transport mechanism, two retrieval methods of aerosol optical properties (backscatter coefficient and extinction coefficient at 1550 nm) from coherent Doppler lidar (CDL) observation are proposed in this paper. The first method utilizes the calculated aerosol backscatter coefficient (532 nm) from Mie-scattering lidar datasets and the iterative Fernald method to retrieve aerosol optical property profiles during joint measurements with CDL and Mie-scattering lidar. After verifying the correctness of the first method compared with AERONET datasets, we proposed the second retrieval method. Using the forward integral Fernald method with near-ground reference aerosol extinction coefficient calculated by atmospheric visibility, aerosol optical properties at 1550 nm could be obtained. Thirty-six-day joint measurements with two lidars were specially designed and conducted to verify the correctness of these retrieval methods. The validation results of these two methods indicate great performances, where the mean relative errors are 0.0272 and 0.1656, and the correlation coefficients are 0.9306 and 0.9197, respectively. In conclusion, the feasibility of these two retrieval methods extends the capability of CDL to detect aerosol optical properties and also provides a possibility to observe the aerosol distribution and transport process comprehensively, which is a great promotion of aerosol transport studies development. With a worldwide distribution, Eimeria spp. could result in serious economic losses to the poultry industry. Due to drug resistance and residues, there are no ideal drugs and vaccines against Eimeria spp. in food animals. In the current study, a bioinformatics approach was employed to design a multiepitope antigen, named NSLC protein, encoding antigenic epitopes of E. necatrix NA4, E. tenella SAG1, E. acervulina LDH, and E. maxima CDPK. Thereafter, the protective immunity of NSLC protein along with five adjuvants and two nanospheres in laying chickens was evaluated. Based on the humoral immunity, cellular immunity, oocyst burden, and the coefficient of growth, the optimum adjuvant was evaluated. Furthermore, the optimum immune route and dosage were also investigated according to the oocyst burden and coefficient of growth. Accompanied by promoted secretion of antibodies and enhanced CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocyte proportions, NSLC proteins entrapped in PLGA nanospheres were more effective in stimulating protective immunity than other adjuvants or nanospheres, indicating that PLGA nanospheres were the optimum adjuvant for NSLC protein. In addition, a significantly inhibited oocyst burden and growth coefficient promotion were also observed in animals vaccinated with NSLC proteins entrapped in PLGA nanospheres, indicating that the optimum adjuvant for NSLC proteins was PLGA nanospheres. The results also suggested that the intramucosal route with PLGA nanospheres containing 300 μg of NSLC protein was the most efficient approach to induce protective immunity against the four Eimeria species. Background: Aidi Injection (ADI), a Chinese herbal preparation with anti-cancer activity, is used for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Several clinical studies have shown that co-administration of ADI with doxorubicin (DOX) is associated with reduced toxicity of chemotherapy, enhanced clinical efficacy and improved quality of life for patients. However, limited information is available about the herb-drug interactions between ADI and DOX. The study aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetic mechanism of herb-drug interactions between ADI and DOX in a rat model of HCC. Methods: Experimental HCC was induced in rats by oral administration of diethylnitrosamine. The HCC rats were pretreated with ADI (10 mL/kg, intraperitoneal injection) for 14 consecutive days prior to administration of DOX (7 mg/kg, intravenous injection) to investigate pharmacokinetic interactions. Plasma concentrations of DOX and its major metabolite, doxorubicinol (DOXol), were determined using ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). Results: Preadministration of ADI significantly altered the pharmacokinetics of DOX in HCC rats, leading to increased plasma concentrations of both DOX and DOXol. The area under the plasma drug concentration-time curve (AUCs) of DOX and DOXol in rats pretreated with ADI were 3.79-fold and 2.92-fold higher, respectively, than those in control rats that did not receive ADI. In this study, Aeolus wind observations, L-band radiosonde (RS) data, and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts fifth-generation atmospheric reanalysis (ERA5) data were used to analyze the seasonality of Aeolus wind product performance over China. Based on the Rayleigh-clear and Mie-cloudy data, the data quality of the Aeolus effective detection data was verified, and the results showed that the Aeolus data were in good agreement with the L-band RS and ERA5 data. The Aeolus data relative errors in the four regions (Chifeng, Baoshan, Shapingba, and Qingyuan) in China were calculated based on different months (July to December 2019 and May to October 2020). The relative error in the Rayleigh-clear data in summer was significantly higher than that in winter, with the mean relative error parameter in July 174 % higher than that in December. The mean random error increased by 0.97 m s -1 in July compared with December, which also supported this conclusion. In addition, the distribution of the wind direction and high-altitude clouds in different months (July and December) was analyzed. The results showed that the distribution of the angle between the horizontal wind direction of the atmosphere and the horizontal line of sight had a greater proportion in the high error interval (70–110 ∘) in summer, and this proportion was 8.14 % higher in July than in December. The cloud top height in summer was approximately 3–5 km higher than that in winter, which might decrease the signal-to-noise ratio of Aeolus. Therefore, the wind product performance of Aeolus was affected by seasonal factors, which might be caused by seasonal changes in wind direction and cloud distribution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As direct prospecting data, geochemical data play an important role in modelling prospect potential. Geochemical element assemblage anomalies are usually reflected by the correlation between elements. Correlation coefficients are computed from the values of two elements, which reflect only the correlation at a global level. Thus, the spatial details of the correlation structure are ignored. In fact, an element combination anomaly often exists in geological backgrounds, such as on a fault zone or within a lithological unit. This anomaly may cause some combination of anomalies that are submerged inside the overall area and thus cannot be effectively extracted. To address this problem, we propose a local correlation coefficient based on spatial neighbourhoods to reflect the global distribution of elements. In this method, the sampling area is first divided into a set of uniform grid cells. A moving window with a size of 3×3 is defined with an integer of 3 to represent the sampling unit. The local correlation in each unit is expressed by the Pearson correlation coefficient. The whole area is scanned by the moving window, which produces a correlation coefficient matrix, and the result is portrayed with a thermal diagram. The local correlation approach was tested on two selected geochemical soil survey sites in Xiao Mountain, Henan Province. The results show that the areas of high correlation are mainly distributed in the fault zone or the known mineral spots. The observation of the nocturnal boundary layer height (NBLH) plays an important role in air pollution and monitoring. Through 39 d of heavy pollution observation experiments in Beijing (China), as well as an exhaustive evaluation of the gradient, wavelet covariance transform, and cubic root gradient methods, a novel algorithm based on the cluster analysis of the gradient method (CA-GM) of lidar signals is developed to capture the multilayer structure and achieve night-time stability. The CA-GM highlights its performance compared with radiosonde data, and the best correlation (0.85), weakest root-mean-square error (203 m), and an improved 25 % correlation coefficient are achieved via the GM. Compared with the 39 d experiments using other algorithms, reasonable parameter selection can help in distinguishing between layers with different properties, such as the cloud layer, elevated aerosol layers, and random noise. Consequently, the CA-GM can automatically address the uncertainty with multiple structures and obtain a stable NBLH with a high temporal resolution, which is expected to contribute to air pollution monitoring and climatology, as well as model verification. Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in women worldwide. Unfortunately, treatments often fail because of the development of drug resistance, the underlying mechanisms of which remain unclear. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is free DNA released into the blood by necrosis, apoptosis or direct secretion by tumor cells. In contrast to repeated, highly invasive tumor biopsies, ctDNA reflects all molecular alterations of tumors dynamically and captures both spatial and temporal tumor heterogeneity. Highly sensitive technologies, including personalized digital PCR and deep sequencing, make it possible to monitor response to therapies, predict drug resistance and tailor treatment regimens by identifying the genomic alteration profile of ctDNA, thereby achieving precision medicine. This review focuses on the current status of ctDNA biology, the technologies used to detect ctDNA and the potential clinical applications of identifying drug resistance mechanisms by detecting tumor-specific genomic alterations in breast cancer. Sediment and nutrient retention have significant impacts on agricultural productivity and water quality. Obvious changes of climate and land-use have deeply affected freshwater ecosystem services in the last several decades. Nevertheless, it is unclear what the differences are in the impact of climate and land-use changes on freshwater ecosystem services. The impacts of climate and land-use change on sediment and nutrient retention (two essential freshwater ecosystem services) were evaluated with the help of the Integrated Valuation of Environmental Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) model. The results from the study area suggest a decreasing trend in sediment and nutrient retention from 1995 to 2015 when climate and land-use were changed simultaneously. A decreasing trend in sediment retention and an increasing trend in nutrient retention were presented under scenario A (climate change from 1995 to 2015 with land-use unchanged), while the sediment exported and nutrient retention exhibited a decreasing trend except sediment retained under scenario B (land-use change from 1995 to 2015 with unchanged climate). Rainfall erosivity and soil erodibility were more sensitive to the output of sediment retention, while retention efficiency produced more of an effect on nutrient retention. Climate change played a dominant role in the change in sediment retention, while land-use change had a more significant effect on nutrient retention change than climate change. Background: Although acute kidney injury (AKI) is a known risk factor for adverse clinical outcomes in patients with spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage (SICH), little is known about the predisposing factors that contribute to renal failure and short-term prognosis in the setting of SICH already complicated by AKI. In this study, we aimed to identify the renal failure factors in SICH patents with AKI.Methods: Five hundred forty-three patients with SICH complicated by differential severities of AKI who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from January 2016 to December 2018 were retrospectively studied. Logistic regression and receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were performed to determine the best predictive and discriminative variables. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was performed to identify prognostic factors for renal recovery.Results: In the multivariable adjusted model, we found that hypernatremia, metabolic acidosis, elevated serum creatine kinase, hyperuricaemia, proteinuria, and the use of colloids and diuretics were all independent risk factors for the occurrence of stage 3 AKI in SICH patients. The area under the curve analysis indicated that hypernatremia and hyperuricaemia were predictive factors for stage 3 AKI, and the combination of these two parameters increased their predictability for stage 3 AKI. Kaplan-Meier survival curves revealed that the renal recovery rate in SICH patients with stages 1 and 2 AKI was significantly higher than that in SICH patients with stage 3 AKI. Multivariate Cox regression analysis suggested that hypernatremia and the occurrence of stage 3 AKI are predictors for poor short-term renal recovery.Conclusions: These findings illustrate that hypernatremia and hyperuricaemia represent potential risk factors for the occurrence of stage 3 AKI in SICH patients. The study aimed to compare the pharmacokinetic properties of quercitrin, astragalin, afzelin and taxifolin, four major bioactive components of Polygonum orientale inflorescence extracts, between sham-operated and myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury (MIRI) rats. Rats were divided into two groups: MIRI model and sham-operated. The blood samples were collected according to the time schedule. The levels of quercitrin, astragalin, afzelin and taxifolin in the plasma at designated time points were determined using an HPLC–MS/MS method. Various pharmacokinetic parameters were estimated from the plasma concentration versus time data using non-compartmental methods. After the administration of the Chinese herb Polygonum orientale inflorescence extracts, the Cmax, AUC, as well as MRT, increased, while CL decreased, in MIRI model compared to the sham-operated animals. These results suggest that the pathological damage of ischemia–reperfusion had a significant impact on the pharmacological effects of Polygonum orientale inflorescence extracts on ischemic heart disease. The method had been successfully applied to evaluate the pharmacokinetics of quercitrin, astragalin, afzelin and taxifolin in rat plasma after the oral administration of Chinese herb Polygonum orientale inflorescence extracts in rats.
