In the twenty-first century, the Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly becoming one of the most influential technologies that connect billions of devices to the Internet. The importance and rapid growth of IoT technology make it an undeniably significant area of study in the contemporary world. This study evaluates the performance and research trends of East Asian countries in the area of Internet of Things (IoT) using scientometric tools. This paper collected 1146 data from Scopus over a period of 5 years (2016–2020). MS Excel, VOSviewer, and Biblioshiny were used to analyze the data using various Scientometric indicators. Cluster analysis and network visualization techniques are employed to evaluate the data and results are presented in tables and graphs. The finding shows that the topic has been exponential growth in recent years. China continues to top the IoT research rankings. The joint author contributed the most publications, and "Electronics (Switzerland)" is the most preferred journal for publication, followed by IEEE journals. In addition, the study found significant growth in smart environments such as "smart factories," "machine learning," "smart cities," "wireless sensor networks," "blockchains," etc., which pose significant concerns for many researchers. This study presents a significant advancement in the realm of information science by exploring and validating a semiotic scale tailored for library software interfaces. Employing a design‐based approach, the investigation identifies 14 crucial semiotic elements specific to library software interfaces, forming the cornerstone of its theoretical framework. The process of developing the semiotic scale involves creating user personas, conducting a comprehensive semiotic analysis, and engaging in productive collaboration with experts. Through meticulous evaluation and refinement, achieved by expert assessments and user testing, the scale offers actionable insights for guiding interface enhancement. The study's findings encompass a breadth of revelations, including user needs, user personas, outcomes of semiotic analysis, criteria development, and evaluation results across a diverse range of library software interfaces. Serving as a valuable tool for interface designers, the semiotic scale facilitates the alignment of design choices with user preferences and requirements. Its inherent adaptability ensures applicability across a spectrum of library software interfaces. Background: The emergence of the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022 has garnered substantial attention across diverse disciplines. Despite widespread adoption in various sectors, the exploration of its application in libraries, especially within the medical domain, remains limited. Aims/Objectives: Many areas of interest remain unexplored like ChatGPT in medical libraries and this review aims to synthesise what is currently known about it to identify gaps and stimulate further research. Methods: Employing Cooper's integrative review method, this study involves a comprehensive analysis of existing literature on ChatGPT and its potential implementations within library contexts. Results: A systematic literature search across various databases yielded 166 papers, with 30 excluded for irrelevance. After abstract reviews and methodological assessments, 136 articles were selected. Critical Appraisal Skills Programme qualitative checklist further narrowed down to 29 papers, forming the basis for the present study. The literature analysis reveals diverse applications of ChatGPT in medical libraries, including aiding users in finding relevant medical information, answering queries, providing recommendations and facilitating access to resources. Potential challenges and ethical considerations associated with ChatGPT in this context are also highlighted. Conclusion: Positioned as a review, our study elucidates the applications of ChatGPT in medical libraries and discusses relevant considerations. The integration of ChatGPT into medical library services holds promise for enhancing information retrieval and user experience, benefiting library users and the broader medical community. This study aimed to assess the research growth, collaboration trends, and performance of the author, organization, and countries and to identify the trending research topics on gender equality and women empowerment research in BRICS countries. This study employed Scientometric tools to evaluate the research publications for ten years (2012- 2021). A total of 1,558 bibliographic records were downloaded from the Scopus and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and Tableau statistical tools. Moreover, the network visualization and scientific mapping analysis was done using the open-source data visualization tools VOSviewer, and Biblioshiny. It was found that BRICS countries were actively involved in research on gender equality and women's empowerment in the last decade as the publication was growing by 20.45% Annual Growth Rate (AGR) and research outputs shared 16.18% of global publications. India contributed the most publications (n=683) and received the highest citations (TC=2,798), while South Africa was the most significant collaborator with different countries across the globe. The study also identified the most prolific authors, organizations, and journals based on the number of scientific publications and citations. It is indispensable to highlight that most prolific authors and organizations were affiliated with South Africa. In recent years research has been trending in topics related to women's education, women empowerment, entrepreneurship, gender equality, and sustainability. Furthermore, the study identified the most influential articles based on the citation burst. The findings of this study will benefit contemporary society, the scholarly community and other key stakeholders in the field by providing an understanding of the development and trends of research in the domain. A scientometric analysis of funded scientometric and bibliometric research from 2011 to 2021 is presented in this paper. Using Web of Science, we analyzed 2810 domain-relevant papers (DRP) and 1040 methodologically relevant papers (MRP). A number of standard scientometric parameters have been examined in the study, including the relative growth rate (RGR), the doubling time (DT), the activity index (AI), the average citations per paper (ACCP), and the h-index. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the parameters associated with the most productive funding agencies, international country collaboration patterns, top journals, most productive institutions, trends in the field, as well as emerging themes. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to present a comprehensive analysis of the current status and development of the digital journalism field from 1987 to 2021 using the Dimensions database. Design/methodology/approach: Using the Dimensions.ai database, 1734 articles were identified through search strategies which were published from 1987 to 2021. The downloaded results were analysed using specific parameters with the help of bibliometric and science mapping tools: Biblioshiny, VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The key contributions of the present comprehensive bibliometric study of the digital journalism field can be seen in terms of the following aspects: (1) Publication analysis from the perspectives of publication growth, key journals, contributing authors, institutions and countries done through Biblioshiny package. (2) Citation network analysis from the perspective of co-citation structure of papers, authors, countries and institutions done through VOSviewer. (3) Timeline analysis and keywords burst detection to identify hotspots and research trends in digital journalism with the help of CiteSpace. Findings: The first paper with the keyword digital journalism was published in the year 1989. From 2011 onwards, there has been growth in digital journalism literature. The most popular journal in digital journalism studies is Digital Journalism, Journalism, Journalism Practice, Journalism Studies. Lewis, S.C. has contributed the most number of papers in digital journalism. Further, authors from the countries the USA, Spain, Brazil and UK have contributed immensely. The citation network of authors, institutions and countries contributing to digital journalism studies has also been explored in the study. Through burst analysis, hot topics in digital journalism were identified. Originality/value: The paper provides a complete overview of the growth of digital journalism literature published from 1987 to 2021. The originality of this work lies in the triangulation of Biblioshiny, VOSviewer and CiteSpace software to present various aspects of bibliometric study. The present study is aimed toward examining the attention received by research papers through social and electronic media in business research. In recent years, altmetrics has emerged as a complementary measure of the impact of research works besides citation analysis and bibliometrics. Using the altmetric attention score (AAS) the paper is the first research of its kind to shed light on the characteristics of 100 papers receiving the highest online attention. Various predictors of online engagement with articles in business research journals having an impact factor greater than 6 are discussed. Data was collected from the Dimensions.ai database and analyzed using R statistical software. It is found that the Journal of Business Ethics contributed maximum papers with the highest AAS followed by the Journal of Business Research. Using the Kruskal-Wallis rank-sum test it was determined that AAS in business research is dependent upon article type, topics, and journal of publication. This article aims to identify the factors prevalent among health science librarians toward vaccine hesitancy. With the development of COVID-19 vaccines in 2021, numerous efforts are being taken to vaccinate people to control the spread of coronavirus. Recent research has shown a high level of vaccine hesitancy among various groups in various fields but no study has been conducted to explore the factors responsible for vaccine hesitancy among library professionals. A cross-sectional online survey of Indian health science librarians was conducted. Data was collected through an online questionnaire designed on Google Forms and analyzed using MS-Excel. Descriptive statistics were used in the study. The majority of respondents (77%) showed a high level of vaccine hesitancy due to issues of safety, negative information, and confusion over vaccines. The study presents an overview of global research output on the Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine from 1989–2021 using various scientometric indicators. The objective is to inform and present a comprehensive analysis of BCG vaccine research to health practitioners, researchers, and librarians that has not been explored from the perspective of scientometrics. Using a search strategy, data was collected from the Web of Science database and 2416 original articles were identified. Computed analysis of the literature was done through the software bibloshiny (a web interface for bibliometrix analysis) in the R statistical programming environment. The study examined the pattern of growth of research output, prolific authors, institutions, key journals, and countries involved in BCG vaccine research. Findings reveal an increase in research output on BCG vaccine from 2008 onwards. The highest number of articles 163 were published in 2016. Key journals, authors, and institutions working in the field of BCG vaccine research have been identified. A Sankey diagram has been used to depict the evolution of BCG vaccine research. This article reports the evolution of BCG vaccine research in terms of annual growth of publications, relevant authors, institutions, countries, and the evolution of author keywords and the growth of BCG vaccine research areas. Cloud computing is an interdisciplinary field which has witnessed exponential growth in recent years and there is a need to consolidate the research efforts. This study used citation analysis method to identify most cited papers which have achieved the status of citation classics. It is the first study using Dimensions.ai database to identify classics in cloud computing literature. Using a search strategy data was extracted from Dimensions database from 2010 and 2020. Finally 96 papers were identified as citation classics which were cited with at least 400 citations. Data was finally analyzed through Biblioshiny package of R Studio. It was found that Future Generation Computer Systems, IEEE Communication Survey and Tutorials, IEEE Transaction on Parallel and Distributed Systems, Computer and IEEE Access are the key journals contributing to classics. The COVID‐19 pandemic has posed significant challenges for health science librarians. During this pandemic, librarians are playing an active role by increasing the public's awareness of the virus, maintaining document delivery services and providing research support. This paper uses the method of desktop analysis of the websites of selected library associations to identify the responses of health science librarians to the COVID‐19 pandemic. Purpose This paper aims to attempt to study the adoption of social media technologies in the process of recruitment and selection process of library professionals and faculty members in India.Design/methodology/approach Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was used for the study. Two additional constructs, namely, impact of the position of recruiters and level of education were added for the study. Data were collected from 230 recruiters for the study.Findings Results of the study highlighted that the hypotheses of UTAUT model were supported. The constructs were performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence as well as facilitating conditions that triggered the behavioral intention of recruiters to adopt social media.Originality/value Till date, no any study has been carried out on the application of social media in the process of recruitment of faculty members and library professionals. Purpose The paper aims to examine the constructs laid down by the information technology (IT) adoption theories to the cloud computing phenomena in conjunction with academic libraries of India to determine the factors responsible for the adoption of cloud computing.Design/methodology/approach Keeping the objectives into consideration, descriptive survey and constructive research method were used in the study. Library professionals engaged in the selected 28 central universities of India were chosen to participate in this study. To find the core drivers responsible for the adoption of cloud computing in academic libraries, constructs were taken from ten IT adoption theories.Findings The findings validate the fact that perceived ease of use, usefulness and ubiquitous availability of the enabling technology are strong drivers of the adoption of cloud computing technology in the libraries. Also, attitude is significantly correlated with the behavioral intention to adopt cloud computing services. High level of correlation was obtained between the cloud computing-perceived attributes and the librarian’s intention to use cloud computing technology. However, security risk is the biggest issue that has been affecting the behavioral intentions.Originality/value The study is a self-conscious attempt to fill the void and determine factors for the adoption of cloud computing in libraries. Purpose This paper aims to identify the factors that influence the acceptance and purposeful use of cloud computing technologies in Indian medical libraries.Design/methodology/approach To meet the stated objectives, a three-round Delphi study was carried out; a panel of 32 participants, with expertise and experience of cloud computing in the context of Indian medical libraries, was constituted.Findings During the study, the participants identified about 60 different factors, and a consensus was reached on 42 of these, which were considered to have a direct impact on the levels of acceptance and purposeful use of cloud computing technologies in Indian medical libraries. The present study is an attempt towards identification, systematization and critical examination of the research literature on the concepts of cloud computing prevalent among the Library and Information professionals. The study is based on an exhaustive review of the published literature in the field of cloud computing and library and information science. For the review, a conceptual framework was developed in order to demarcate the flow of available information. Available strategies, models, frameworks and existing practises of adoption of cloud computing in library practises have been exclusively dealt. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the perceptions of librarians engaged in Indian academic libraries towards cloud computing. Design/methodology/approach – A structured questionnaire was used to collect responses from the library professionals engaged in Indian academic libraries. Overall, 339 respondents participated in the survey. Descriptive survey method was used in the study. Findings – The findings of the study reveal that library professionals are using cloud-computing tools in their daily works. They want to adopt cloud computing in the libraries to improve library services and avoid redundancy of works. Ubiquitous availability, economy and the various service layers are the core drivers of its adoption in the libraries. The respondents showed their concern over security and data privacy in cloud. Practical implications – The study establishes the fact that the benefits of cloud computing are inadequate to convince the libraries to migrate from the traditional computing paradigm to the cloud. Technological advancement may not transform the cloud into a mainstream technology. To motivate the expansion of cloud computing adoption, emphasis has to be laid upon collaboration between the cloud service providers supplemented by solid cloud legislations which need to be worked out. Technology is a mobile and integral part of many work places, and computers and other information and communication technology have made many users' work life easier, but technology can also contribute to problems in the cognitive work environment and, over time, create technostress. Much previous research on technostress has focused on the use of digital technology and its effects, measured by questionnaires. This paper applies a distributed cognition perspective to human-technology interaction, investigated through Limesurvey to examine technostress, its effects and measures taken to avoid it among librarians at university libraries in Delhi. About 200 library professionals participated in the study. Data was subjected to correlation and regression analysis analysed through Quickcals (Graphpad software. Analysis reveals high that there exists a high level of technostress among the library professionals engaged in Delhi libraries. Purpose – The paper aims to examine the characteristic elements of various organizational factors to identify whether a favourable climate for implementing and sustaining cloud computing in Banaras Hindu University library system (BHULS) existed. Design/methodology/approach – After reviewing relevant literature on the topic, a list of 20 factors that affected an organization’s adoption to innovation was prepared. A questionnaire was personally administered to the library professionals engaged in BHULS. Respondents were asked to nominate the level of importance of each factor for validation of cloud computing adoption. Findings – Findings of the paper validate the fact that opportune time for the implementation of cloud computing existed in BHULS. Library staff showed high willingness toward the adoption of the cloud computing and were well prepared to grasp the challenges. Practical implications – The paper establishes the fact that the benefits of cloud computing are inadequate to convince organizations to migrate from the traditional computing paradigm to the cloud. The main purpose of this paper is to explore the current status of public libraries of Varanasi. A structured questionnaire was designed and personally distributed to 100 respondents over a period of seven months for the study. Responses present a dismal outlook of the libraries. Financial deficit and lack of computers, infrastructure and staff have stagnated the development of these libraries. These libraries continue to stand the same way as they stood 60 years before. The paper analyses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to examine the librarians' behavioural intentions to use cloud computing applications. A questionnaire was developed using three TAM instruments: attitude, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness to measure the librarian's behavioural intentions of cloud computing applications use. Four hundred and seven library professionals completed the survey that measured their responses on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and the behavioural intentions on the use of cloud computing applications. Results show that librarians' perceived ease of use had significant impact on the attitude towards use. Further, perceived ease of use severely influenced the perceived usefulness of the cloud computing applications. The main purpose of this paper is to explore how librarians in Indian Central Universities are using Cloud Computing tools into their daily library services and works. Virtual reference services have become a staple in many libraries, but these services reached a new level of importance when in-person reference shut down in response to COVID-19. This descriptive study aims to discover how health sciences librarians utilized virtual reference services in response to the pandemic. A survey was developed and distributed to health sciences librarians. The survey addressed the status of virtual reference services before and during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as any changes that are seen as libraries reopen. In this study, the authors analyzed 147 AAHSL member libraries' COVID-19 research guides to determine the volume and origin of links included. Through stratified sampling based on total enrollment of health sciences academic institutions, 51 eligible AASHL library websites were selected for inclusion in the study. Content from COVID-19 research guides was analyzed, and the origin of each link was categorized. Most AAHSL libraries have at least one COVID-19 research guide, while some have two or more. A total of 8,848 links within examined research guides were visited. Links to academic institutions including universities' own internal links were most common while news outlets, social media, and international government were linked least. Regarding individual organizations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH)were most frequently linked. The overwhelming majority of sampled health sciences libraries use research guides to share COVID-19 information with their users. It is necessary to further investigate how libraries can optimize research guides to benefit their users. These results and conclusions reveal information resource patterns in research guides at health sciences academic libraries and are consistent with those reached by researchers investigating academic libraries' research guides in 2020.
