Abstract
The article reports that a group of doctors from Chennai, India have made a history by conducting a seven-hour long heart surgery to a 53-year-old worker from Salem. Nandakishore Kapadia of Fortis Malar Hospital mentions that the patient was brought to the hospital by his relatives due to severe chest pain and lethargy. It states that the surgeons have removed the thickened blood into the aorta of the patient.
The article offers information on endovascular repair for the treatment of a rupture of the aorta. The procedure involves a small incision in the groin through which a surgeon threads a fabric-coated stent up to the anuerysm. More doctors recently recommend endovascular repair for most people with aortic aneurysms.
