In response to the challenges posed by small objects in remote sensing images, such as low resolution, complex backgrounds, and severe occlusions, this paper proposes a lightweight improved model based on YOLOv8n. During the detection of small objects, the feature fusion part of the YOLOv8n algorithm retrieves relatively fewer features of small objects from the backbone network compared to large objects, resulting in low detection accuracy for small objects. To address this issue, firstly, this paper adds a dedicated small object detection layer in the feature fusion network to better integrate the features of small objects into the feature fusion part of the model. Secondly, the SSFF module is introduced to facilitate multi-scale feature fusion, enabling the model to capture more gradient paths and further improve accuracy while reducing model parameters. Finally, the HPANet structure is proposed, replacing the Path Aggregation Network with HPANet. Compared to the original YOLOv8n algorithm, the recognition accuracy of mAP@0.5 on the VisDrone data set and the AI-TOD data set has increased by 14.3% and 17.9%, respectively, while the recognition accuracy of mAP@0.5:0.95 has increased by 17.1% and 19.8%, respectively. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the underlying technology that has enabled connecting daily apparatus to the Internet and enjoying the facilities of smart services. IoT marketing is experiencing an impressive 16.7% growth rate and is a nearly USD 300.3 billion market. These eye-catching figures have made it an attractive playground for cybercriminals. IoT devices are built using resource-constrained architecture to offer compact sizes and competitive prices. As a result, integrating sophisticated cybersecurity features is beyond the scope of the computational capabilities of IoT. All of these have contributed to a surge in IoT intrusion. This paper presents an LSTM-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) with a Dynamic Access Control (DAC) algorithm that not only detects but also defends against intrusion. This novel approach has achieved an impressive 97.16% validation accuracy. Unlike most of the IDSs, the model of the proposed IDS has been selected and optimized through mathematical analysis. Additionally, it boasts the ability to identify a wider range of threats (14 to be exact) compared to other IDS solutions, translating to enhanced security. Furthermore, it has been fine-tuned to strike a balance between accurately flagging threats and minimizing false alarms. Its impressive performance metrics (precision, recall, and F1 score all hovering around 97%) showcase the potential of this innovative IDS to elevate IoT security. Object detection is one of the core technologies for autonomous driving. Current road object detection mainly relies on visible light, which is prone to missed detections and false alarms in rainy, night-time, and foggy scenes. Multispectral object detection based on the fusion of RGB and infrared images can effectively address the challenges of complex and changing road scenes, improving the detection performance of current algorithms in complex scenarios. However, previous multispectral detection algorithms suffer from issues such as poor fusion of dual-mode information, poor detection performance for multi-scale objects, and inadequate utilization of semantic information. To address these challenges and enhance the detection performance in complex road scenes, this paper proposes a novel multispectral object detection algorithm called MRD-YOLO. In MRD-YOLO, we utilize interaction-based feature extraction to effectively fuse information and introduce the BIC-Fusion module with attention guidance to fuse different modal information. We also incorporate the SAConv module to improve the model's detection performance for multi-scale objects and utilize the AIFI structure to enhance the utilization of semantic information. Finally, we conduct experiments on two major public datasets, FLIR_Aligned and M3FD. In response to the numerous challenges faced by traditional human pose recognition methods in practical applications, such as dense targets, severe edge occlusion, limited application scenarios, complex backgrounds, and poor recognition accuracy when targets are occluded, this paper proposes a YOLO-Pose algorithm for human pose estimation. The specific improvements are divided into four parts. Firstly, in the Backbone section of the YOLO-Pose model, lightweight GhostNet modules are introduced to reduce the model's parameter count and computational requirements, making it suitable for deployment on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Secondly, the ACmix attention mechanism is integrated into the Neck section to improve detection speed during object judgment and localization. Furthermore, in the Head section, key points are optimized using coordinate attention mechanisms, significantly enhancing key point localization accuracy. Lastly, the paper improves the loss function and confidence function to enhance the model's robustness. Experimental results demonstrate that the improved model achieves a 95.58% improvement in mAP50 and a 69.54% improvement in mAP50-95 compared to the original model, with a reduction of 14.6 M parameters. To enhance aerial image detection in complex environments characterized by multiple small targets and mutual occlusion, we propose an aerial target detection algorithm based on an improved version of YOLOv5 in this paper. Firstly, we employ an improved Mosaic algorithm to address redundant boundaries arising from varying image scales and to augment the training sample size, thereby enhancing detection accuracy. Secondly, we integrate the constructed hybrid attention module into the backbone network to enhance the model's capability in extracting pertinent feature information. Subsequently, we incorporate feature fusion layer 7 and P2 fusion into the neck network, leading to a notable enhancement in the model's capability to detect small targets. Finally, we replace the original PAN + FPN network structure with the optimized BiFPN (Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network) to enable the model to preserve deeper semantic information, thereby enhancing detection capabilities for dense objects. Roller bearings are critical components in various mechanical systems, and the timely detection of potential failures is essential for preventing costly downtimes and avoiding substantial machinery breakdown. This research focuses on finding and verifying a robust method that can detect failures early, without creating false positive failure states. Therefore, this paper introduces a novel algorithm for the early detection of roller bearing failures, particularly tailored to high-precision bearings and automotive test bed systems. The featured method (AFI—Advanced Failure Indicator) utilizes the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) of wideband accelerometers to calculate the spectral content of vibration signals emitted by roller bearings. By calculating the frequency bands and tracking the movement of these bands within the spectra, the method provides an indicator of the machinery's health, mainly focusing on the early stages of bearing failure. The calculated channel can be used as a trend indicator, enabling the method to identify subtle deviations associated with impending failures. The AFI algorithm incorporates a non-static limit through moving average calculations and volatility analysis methods to determine critical changes in the signal. This thresholding mechanism ensures the algorithm's responsiveness to variations in operating conditions and environmental factors, contributing to its robustness in diverse industrial settings. Further refinement was achieved through an outlier detection filter, which reduces false positives and enhances the algorithm's accuracy in identifying genuine deviations from the normal operational state. The traditional rearview mirror method cannot fully guarantee safety when driving trucks. RGB and infrared images collected by cameras are used for registration and recognition, so as to achieve the perception of surroundings and ensure safe driving. The traditional scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithm has a mismatching rate, and the YOLO algorithm has an optimization space in feature extraction. To address these issues, this paper proposes a truck surround sensing technique based on multi-features and an improved YOLOv5 algorithm. Firstly, the edge corner points and infrared features of the preset target region are extracted, and then a feature point set containing the improved SIFT algorithm is generated for registration. Finally, the YOLOv5 algorithm is improved by fusing infrared features and introducing a composite prediction mechanism at the prediction end. The simulation results show that, on average, the image stitching accuracy is improved by 17%, the time is reduced by 89%, and the target recognition accuracy is improved by 2.86%. Oncology has emerged as a crucial field of study in the domain of medicine. Computed tomography has gained widespread adoption as a radiological modality for the identification and characterisation of pathologies, particularly in oncology, enabling precise identification of affected organs and tissues. However, achieving accurate liver segmentation in computed tomography scans remains a challenge due to the presence of artefacts and the varying densities of soft tissues and adjacent organs. This paper compares artificial intelligence algorithms and traditional medical image processing techniques to assist radiologists in liver segmentation in computed tomography scans and evaluates their accuracy and efficiency. The zero-velocity update (ZUPT) algorithm is a pivotal advancement in pedestrian navigation accuracy, utilizing foot-mounted inertial sensors. Its key issue hinges on accurately identifying periods of zero-velocity during human movement. This paper introduces an innovative adaptive sliding window technique, leveraging the Fourier Transform to precisely isolate the pedestrian's gait frequency from spectral data. Building on this, the algorithm adaptively adjusts the zero-velocity detection threshold in accordance with the identified gait frequency. This adaptation significantly refines the accuracy in detecting zero-velocity intervals. Experimental evaluations reveal that this method outperforms traditional fixed-threshold approaches by enhancing precision and minimizing false positives. Truck hoisting detection constitutes a key focus in port security, for which no optimal resolution has been identified. To address the issues of high costs, susceptibility to weather conditions, and low accuracy in conventional methods for truck hoisting detection, a non-intrusive detection approach is proposed in this paper. The proposed approach utilizes a mathematical model and an extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) model. Electrical signals, including voltage and current, collected by Hall sensors are processed by the mathematical model, which augments their physical information. Subsequently, the dataset filtered by the mathematical model is used to train the XGBoost model, enabling the XGBoost model to effectively identify abnormal hoists. Improvements were observed in the performance of the XGBoost model as utilized in this paper. Finally, experiments were conducted at several stations. The overall false positive rate did not exceed 0.7% and no false negatives occurred in the experiments. The electrocardiogram (ECG) signal describes the heart's electrical activity, allowing it to detect several health conditions, including cardiac system abnormalities and dysfunctions. Nowadays, most patient medical records are still paper-based, especially those made in past decades. The importance of collecting digitized ECGs is twofold: firstly, all medical applications can be easily implemented with an engineering approach if the ECGs are treated as signals; secondly, paper ECGs can deteriorate over time, therefore a correct evaluation of the patient's clinical evolution is not always guaranteed. The goal of this paper is the realization of an automatic conversion algorithm from paper-based ECGs (images) to digital ECG signals. The algorithm involves a digitization process tested on an image set of 16 subjects, also with pathologies. The quantitative analysis of the digitization method is carried out by evaluating the repeatability and reproducibility of the algorithm. The digitization accuracy is evaluated both on the entire signal and on six ECG time parameters (R-R peak distance, QRS complex duration, QT interval, PQ interval, P-wave duration, and heart rate). Results demonstrate the algorithm efficiency has an average Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.94 and measurement errors of the ECG time parameters are always less than 1 mm. An autonomous place recognition system is essential for scenarios where GPS is useless, such as underground tunnels. However, it is difficult to use existing algorithms to fully utilize the small number of effective features in underground tunnel data, and recognition accuracy is difficult to guarantee. In order to solve this challenge, an efficient point cloud position recognition algorithm, named Dual-Attention Transformer Network (DAT-Net), is proposed in this paper. The algorithm firstly adopts the farthest point downsampling module to eliminate the invalid redundant points in the point cloud data and retain the basic shape of the point cloud, which reduces the size of the point cloud and, at the same time, reduces the influence of the invalid point cloud on the data analysis. After that, this paper proposes the dual-attention Transformer module to facilitate local information exchange by utilizing the multi-head self-attention mechanism. It extracts local descriptors and integrates highly discriminative global descriptors based on global context with the help of a feature fusion layer to obtain a more accurate and robust global feature representation. With the rapid development of the intelligent driving technology, achieving accurate path planning for unmanned vehicles has become increasingly crucial. However, path planning algorithms face challenges when dealing with complex and ever-changing road conditions. In this paper, aiming at improving the accuracy and robustness of the generated path, a global programming algorithm based on optimization is proposed, while maintaining the efficiency of the traditional A* algorithm. Firstly, turning penalty function and obstacle raster coefficient are integrated into the search cost function to increase the adaptability and directionality of the search path to the map. Secondly, an efficient search strategy is proposed to solve the problem that trajectories will pass through sparse obstacles while reducing spatial complexity. Thirdly, a redundant node elimination strategy based on discrete smoothing optimization effectively reduces the total length of control points and paths, and greatly reduces the difficulty of subsequent trajectory optimization. Finally, the simulation results, based on real map rasterization, highlight the advanced performance of the path planning and the comparison among the baselines and the proposed strategy showcases that the optimized A* algorithm significantly enhances the security and rationality of the planned path. Underwater mobile acoustic source target localization encounters several challenges, including the unknown propagation speed of the source signal, uncertainty in the observation platform's position and velocity (i.e., platform systematic errors), and economic costs. This paper proposes a new two-step closed-form localization algorithm that jointly estimates the angle of arrival (AOA), time difference of arrival (TDOA), and frequency difference of arrival (FDOA) to address these challenges. The algorithm initially introduces auxiliary variables to construct pseudo-linear equations to obtain the initial solution. It then exploits the relationship between the unknown and auxiliary variables to derive the exact solution comprising solely the unknown variables. Both theoretical analyses and simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed method accurately estimates the position, velocity, and speed of the sound source even with an unknown sound speed and platform systematic errors. It achieves asymptotic optimality within a reasonable error range to approach the Cramér–Rao lower bound (CRLB). Furthermore, the algorithm exhibits low complexity, reduces the number of required localization platforms, and decreases the economic costs. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) infrared detection has problems such as weak and small targets, complex backgrounds, and poor real-time detection performance. It is difficult for general target detection algorithms to achieve the requirements of a high detection rate, low missed detection rate, and high real-time performance. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes an improved small target detection method based on Picodet. First, to address the problem of poor real-time performance, an improved lightweight LCNet network was introduced as the backbone network for feature extraction. Secondly, in order to solve the problems of high false detection rate and missed detection rate due to weak targets, the Squeeze-and-Excitation module was added and the feature pyramid structure was improved. Autonomous mobile robots are essential to the industry, and human–robot interactions are becoming more common nowadays. These interactions require that the robots navigate scenarios with static and dynamic obstacles in a safely manner, avoiding collisions. This paper presents a physical implementation of a method for dynamic obstacle avoidance using a long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network that obtains information from the mobile robot's LiDAR for it to be capable of navigating through scenarios with static and dynamic obstacles while avoiding collisions and reaching its goal. The model is implemented using a TurtleBot3 mobile robot within an OptiTrack motion capture (MoCap) system for obtaining its position at any given time. The user operates the robot through these scenarios, recording its LiDAR readings, target point, position inside the MoCap system, and its linear and angular velocities, all of which serve as the input for the LSTM network. The model is trained on data from multiple user-operated trajectories across five different scenarios, outputting the linear and angular velocities for the mobile robot. Physical experiments prove that the model is successful in allowing the mobile robot to reach the target point in each scenario while avoiding the dynamic obstacle, with a validation accuracy of 98.02%. Sub-Nyquist synthetic aperture radar (SAR) based on pseudo-random time–space modulation has been proposed to increase the swath width while preserving the azimuthal resolution. Due to the sub-Nyquist sampling, the scene can be recovered by an optimization-based algorithm. However, these methods suffer from some issues, e.g., manually tuning difficulty and the pre-definition of optimization parameters, and a low signal–noise ratio (SNR) resistance. To address these issues, a reweighted optimization algorithm, named pseudo-ℒ0-norm optimization algorithm, is proposed for the sub-Nyquist SAR system in this paper. A modified regularization model is first built by applying the scene prior information to nearly acquire the number of nonzero elements based on Bayesian estimation, and then this model is solved by the Cauchy–Newton method. Additionally, an error correction method combined with our proposed pseudo-ℒ0-norm optimization algorithm is also present to eliminate defocusing in the motion-induced model. Delay-sensitive task offloading in a device-to-device assisted mobile edge computing (D2D-MEC) system with energy harvesting devices is a critical challenge due to the dynamic load level at edge nodes and the variability in harvested energy. In this paper, we propose a joint dynamic task offloading and CPU frequency control scheme for delay-sensitive tasks in a D2D-MEC system, taking into account the intricacies of multi-slot tasks, characterized by diverse processing speeds and data transmission rates. Our methodology involves meticulous modeling of task arrival and service processes using queuing systems, coupled with the strategic utilization of D2D communication to alleviate edge server load and prevent network congestion effectively. Central to our solution is the formulation of average task delay optimization as a challenging nonlinear integer programming problem, requiring intelligent decision making regarding task offloading for each generated task at active mobile devices and CPU frequency adjustments at discrete time slots. To navigate the intricate landscape of the extensive discrete action space, we design an efficient multi-agent DRL learning algorithm named MAOC, which is based on MAPPO, to minimize the average task delay by dynamically determining task-offloading decisions and CPU frequencies. MAOC operates within a centralized training with decentralized execution (CTDE) framework, empowering individual mobile devices to make decisions autonomously based on their unique system states. High-quality eye-tracking data are crucial in behavioral sciences and medicine. Even with a solid understanding of the literature, selecting the most suitable algorithm for a specific research project poses a challenge. Empowering applied researchers to choose the best-fitting detector for their research needs is the primary contribution of this paper. We developed a framework to systematically assess and compare the effectiveness of 13 state-of-the-art algorithms through a unified application interface. Hence, we more than double the number of algorithms that are currently usable within a single software package and allow researchers to identify the best-suited algorithm for a given scientific setup. Our framework validation on retrospective data underscores its suitability for algorithm selection. The various applications of bearing-only sensor networks for detection and localization are becoming increasingly widespread and important. The array layout of the bearing-only sensor network seriously impacts the detection performance. This paper proposes a multi-strategy fusion improved adaptive mayfly algorithm (MIAMA) in a bearing-only sensor network to perform layout planning on the geometric configuration of the optimal detection. Firstly, the system model of a bearing-only sensor network was constructed, and the observability of the system was analyzed based on the Cramer–Rao Lower Bound and Fisher Information Matrix. Then, in view of the limitations of the traditional mayfly algorithm, which has a single initial population and no adaptability and poor global search capabilities, multi-strategy fusion improvements were carried out by introducing Tent chaos mapping, the adaptive inertia weight factor, and Random Opposition-based Learning. Real-time acquisition of location information for agricultural robotic systems is a prerequisite for achieving high-precision intelligent navigation. This paper proposes a data filtering and combined positioning method, and establishes an active screening model. The dynamic and static positioning drift points of the carrier are eliminated or replaced, reducing the complexity of the original Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) output data in the positioning system. Compared with the traditional Kalman filter combined positioning method, the proposed active filtering–Kalman filter algorithm can reduce the maximum distance deviation of the carrier along a straight line from 0.145 m to 0.055 m and along a curve from 0.184 m to 0.0640 m. In substation lightning rod meter reading data taking, the classical object detection model is not suitable for deployment in substation monitoring hardware devices due to its large size, large number of parameters, and slow detection speed, while is difficult to balance detection accuracy and real-time requirements with the existing lightweight object detection model. To address this problem, this paper constructs a lightweight object detection algorithm, YOLOv5-Meter Reading Lighting (YOLOv5-MRL), based on the improved YOLOv5 model's speed while maintaining accuracy. Then, the YOLOv5s are pruned based on the convolutional kernel channel soft pruning algorithm, which greatly reduces the number of parameters in the YOLOv5-MRL model while maintaining a certain accuracy loss. Finally, in order to facilitate the dial reading, the dial external circle fitting method is proposed to calculate the dial reading using the circular angle algorithm. The experimental results on the self-built dataset show that the YOLOv5-MRL object detection model achieves a mean average precision of 96.9%, a detection speed of 5 ms/frame, and a model weight size of 5.5 MB, making it better than other advanced dial reading models. Tunnel cracks are the main factors that cause damage and collapse of tunnel structures. How to detect tunnel cracks efficiently and avoid safety accidents caused by tunnel cracks effectively is a research hotspot at present. In order to meet the need for efficient detection of tunnel cracks, the tunnel crack detection method based on improved Retinex and deep learning is proposed in this paper. The tunnel crack images collected by optical imaging equipment are used to improve the contrast information of tunnel crack images using the image enhancement algorithm, and this image enhancement algorithm has the function of multi-scale Retinex decomposition with improved central filtering. An improved VGG19 network model is constructed to achieve efficient segmentation of tunnel crack images through deep learning methods and then form the segmented binary image. The Zhang–Suen fast parallel-thinning method is used to obtain the skeleton map of the single-layer pixel, and the length and width information of the tunnel cracks are obtained. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by experiments. Compared with other methods in the literature, the maximum deviation in the length of the tunnel crack is about 5 mm, and the maximum deviation in the width of the tunnel crack is about 0.8 mm. Realizing the distributed adaptive network construction of multi-UAV networks is an urgent challenge, as they lack a reliable common control channel and can only maintain a limited sensing range in crowded electromagnetic environments. Multi-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks are gaining popularity in many fields. In order to address these issues, this paper proposes a multi-UAV network channel rendezvous algorithm based on average consistency. The goal of the algorithm is to adjust the communication channels of each UAV to converge on the same channel, since the communication link of the multi-UAV network is broken due to interference. The proposed memory-based average consistency (MAC) algorithm utilizes the network adjacency matrix as prior information. Furthermore, for the case where the adjacency matrix is unknown, this paper also proposes the Multi-Radio Average Consensus (MRAC) algorithm, which achieves a beneficial trade-off between rendezvous performance and hardware cost. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed MAC and MRAC algorithms provide superior network convergence time and scalability in networks of different densities. Finally, a hardware simulation platform based on a multi-UAV network was designed using a software-defined radio platform, and experimental simulations were performed to prove the effectiveness of the MAC algorithm in a real environment. With the sustainable development of intelligent fisheries, accurate underwater fish segmentation is a key step toward intelligently obtaining fish morphology data. However, the blurred, distorted and low-contrast features of fish images in underwater scenes affect the improvement in fish segmentation accuracy. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a method of underwater fish segmentation based on an improved PSPNet network (IST-PSPNet). First, in the feature extraction stage, to fully perceive features and context information of different scales, we propose an iterative attention feature fusion mechanism, which realizes the depth mining of fish features of different scales and the full perception of context information. Then, a SoftPool pooling method based on fast index weighted activation is used to reduce the numbers of parameters and computations while retaining more feature information, which improves segmentation accuracy and efficiency. Finally, a triad attention mechanism module, triplet attention (TA), is added to the different scale features in the golden tower pool module so that the space attention can focus more on the specific position of the fish body features in the channel through cross-dimensional interaction to suppress the fuzzy distortion caused by background interference in underwater scenes. Additionally, the parameter-sharing strategy is used in this process to make different scale features share the same learning weight parameters and further reduce the numbers of parameters and calculations. The experimental results show that the method presented in this paper yielded better results for the DeepFish underwater fish image dataset than other methods, with 91.56% for the Miou, 46.68 M for Params and 40.27 G for GFLOPS. Noncontact heart rate monitoring techniques based on millimeter-wave radar have advantages in unique medical scenarios. However, the accuracy of the existing noncontact heart rate estimation methods is still limited by interference, such as DC offsets, respiratory harmonics, and environmental noise. Additionally, these methods still require longer observation times. Most deep learning methods related to heart rate estimation still need to collect more heart rate marker data for training. To address the above problems, this paper introduces a radar signal-based heart rate estimation network named the "masked phase autoencoders with a vision transformer network" (MVN). This network is grounded on masked autoencoders (MAEs) for self-supervised pretraining and a vision transformer (ViT) for transfer learning. During the phase preprocessing stage, phase differencing and interpolation smoothing are performed on the input phase signal. In the self-supervised pretraining step, masked self-supervised training is performed on the phase signal using the MAE network. In the transfer learning stage, the encoder segment of the MAE network is integrated with the ViT network to enable transfer learning using labeled heart rate data. The innovative MVN offers a dual advantage—it not only reduces the cost associated with heart rate data acquisition but also adeptly addresses the issue of respiratory harmonic interference, which is an improvement over conventional signal processing methods. In the present study, we used a transformer model and a fusion of biosignals to estimate rotational acceleration in elbow and shoulder joints. To achieve our study objectives, we proposed a mechanomyography (MMG) signal isolation technique based on a variational mode decomposition (VMD) algorithm. Our results show that the VMD algorithm delivered excellent performance in MMG signal extraction compared to the commonly used technique of empirical mode decomposition (EMD). In addition, we found that transformer models delivered estimates of joint acceleration that were more precise than those produced by mainstream time series forecasting models. The average R2 values of transformer are 0.967, 0.968, and 0.935, respectively. Finally, we found that using a fusion of signals resulted in more precise estimation performance compared to using MMG signals alone. The differences between the average R2 values are 0.041, 0.053, and 0.043, respectively. Taken together, the VMD isolation method, the transformer algorithm and the signal fusion technique described in this paper can be seen as supplying a robust framework for estimating rotational acceleration in upper-limb joints. The wrist is one of the most complex joints in our body, composed of eight bones. Therefore, measuring the angles of this intricate wrist movement can prove valuable in various fields such as sports analysis and rehabilitation. Textile stretch sensors can be easily produced by immersing an E-band in a SWCNT solution. The lightweight, cost-effective, and reproducible nature of textile stretch sensors makes them well suited for practical applications in clothing. In this paper, wrist angles were measured by attaching textile stretch sensors to an arm sleeve. Three sensors were utilized to measure all three axes of the wrist. Additionally, sensor precision was heightened through the utilization of the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) technique, a subtype of deep learning. Rather than fixing the measurement values of each sensor to specific axes, we created an algorithm utilizing the coupling between sensors, allowing the measurement of wrist angles in three dimensions. Using this algorithm, the error angle of wrist angles measured with textile stretch sensors could be measured at less than 4.5°. In order to solve the star identification problem in the lost space mode for scientific cameras with small fields of view and higher instruction magnitudes, this paper proposes a star identification algorithm based on a hybrid grid pattern. The application of a hybrid pattern generated by multi-calibration stars in the initial matching enables the position distribution features of neighboring stars around the main star to be more comprehensively described and avoids the interference of position noise and magnitude noise as much as possible. Moreover, calibration star filtering is adopted to eliminate incorrect candidates and pick the true matched navigation star from candidate stars in the initial match. Then, the reference star image is utilized to efficiently verify and determine the final identification results of the algorithm via the nearest principle. The performance of the proposed algorithm in simulation experiments shows that, when the position noise is 2 pixels, the identification rate of the algorithm is 96.43%, which is higher than that of the optimized grid algorithm by 2.21% and the grid algorithm by 4.05%; when the magnitude noise is 0.3 mag, the star identification rate of the algorithm is 96.45%, which is superior to the optimized grid algorithm by 2.03% and to the grid algorithm by 3.82%. In this paper, an improved APF-GFARRT* (artificial potential field-guided fuzzy adaptive rapidly exploring random trees) algorithm based on APF (artificial potential field) guided sampling and fuzzy adaptive expansion is proposed to solve the problems of weak orientation and low search success rate when randomly expanding nodes using the RRT (rapidly exploring random trees) algorithm for disinfecting robots in the dense environment of disinfection operation. Considering the inherent randomness of tree growth in the RRT* algorithm, a combination of APF with RRT* is introduced to enhance the purposefulness of the sampling process. In addition, in the context of RRT* facing dense and restricted environments such as narrow passages, adaptive step-size adjustment is implemented using fuzzy control. It accelerates the algorithm's convergence and improves search efficiency in a specific area. The proposed algorithm is validated and analyzed in a specialized environment designed in MATLAB, and comparisons are made with existing path planning algorithms, including RRT, RRT*, and APF-RRT*. Experimental results show the excellent exploration speed of the improved algorithm, reducing the average initial path search time by about 46.52% compared to the other three algorithms. In addition, the improved algorithm exhibits faster convergence, significantly reducing the average iteration count and the average final path cost by about 10.01%. The algorithm's enhanced adaptability in unique environments is particularly noteworthy, increasing the chances of successfully finding paths and generating more rational and smoother paths than other algorithms. The location-based smartphone service brings new development opportunities for seamless indoor/outdoor positioning. However, in complex scenarios such as cities, tunnels, overpasses, forests, etc., using only GNSS on smartphones cannot provide stable and reliable positioning results. Usually, additional sensors are needed to assist GNSS. This paper investigates the GNSS positioning algorithm assisted by pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) in complex scenarios. First, we introduce a step detection algorithm based on the peak–valley of acceleration modulus, and the Weinberg model and the Mahony algorithm in PDR are used to estimate step length and heading. On this basis, we evaluated the performance of GNSS/PDR fusion positioning in an open scenario, a semiopen scenario, and a blocked scenario, respectively. Finally, we develop a GNSS/PDR real-time positioning software, called China University of Mining and Technology-POSitioning (CUMT-POS) version 1.0, on the Android 10 platform. By comparing GNSS solutions, PDR solutions, GNSS/PDR solutions, and real-time kinematic (RTK) solutions, we verify the potential auxiliary ability of PDR for GNSS positioning in complex environments, proving that multisource sensor fusion positioning significantly improves reliability and stability. Visual-inertial odometry (VIO) algorithms, fusing various features such as points and lines, are able to improve their performance in challenging scenes while the running time severely increases. In this paper, we propose a novel lightweight point–line visual–inertial odometry algorithm to solve this problem, called LRPL-VIO. Firstly, a fast line matching method is proposed based on the assumption that the photometric values of endpoints and midpoints are invariant between consecutive frames, which greatly reduces the time consumption of the front end. Then, an efficient filter-based state estimation framework is designed to finish information fusion (point, line, and inertial). Fresh measurements of line features with good tracking quality are selected for state estimation using a unique feature selection scheme, which improves the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. In order to realize the unsupervised segmentation of subtle defect images on the surface of small magnetic rings and improve the segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency, here, an adaptive threshold segmentation method is proposed based on the improved multi-scale and multi-directional 2D-Gabor filter bank. Firstly, the improved multi-scale and multi-directional 2D-Gabor filter bank was used to filter and reduce the noise on the defect image, suppress the noise pollution inside the target area and the background area, and enhance the difference between the magnetic ring defect and the background. Secondly, this study analyzed the grayscale statistical characteristics of the processed image; the segmentation threshold was constructed according to the gray statistical law of the image; and the adaptive segmentation of subtle defect images on the surface of small magnetic rings was realized. Finally, a classifier based on a BP neural network is designed to classify the scar images and crack images determined by different threshold segmentation methods. The classification accuracies of the iterative method, the OTSU method, the maximum entropy method, and the adaptive threshold segmentation method are, respectively, 85%, 87.5%, 95%, and 97.5%. The adaptive threshold segmentation method proposed in this paper has the highest classification accuracy. Through verification and comparison, the proposed algorithm can segment defects quickly and accurately and suppress noise interference effectively. It is better than other traditional image threshold segmentation methods, validated by both segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency. The rapid development of the logistics industry poses significant challenges to the sorting work within this sector. The fast and precise identification of moving express parcels holds immense significance for the performance of logistics sorting systems. This paper proposes a motion express parcel positioning algorithm that combines traditional vision and AI-based vision. In the traditional vision aspect, we employ a brightness-based traditional visual parcel detection algorithm. In the AI vision aspect, we introduce a Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) and Focal-EIoU to enhance YOLOv5, improving the model's recall rate and robustness. In the realm of sensorless control for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the flux observer algorithm is widely recognized. However, the estimation accuracy of rotor position is adversely impacted by the interference from DC bias and high-order harmonics. To address these issues, an advanced flux observation method, second-order generalized integrator flux observer extend (SOGIFO-X), is introduced in this paper. The study begins with a theoretical analysis to establish the relationship between flux observation error and rotor position error. The SOGIFO-X method, developed in this study, is compared with traditional methods such as the Low Pass Filter (LPF) and second-order generalized integrator flux observer (SOGIFO), employing mathematical rigor and Bode plot analysis. Indoor localization of a mobile target represents a prominent application within wireless sensor network (WSN), showcasing significant values and scientific interest. Interference, obstacles, and energy consumption are critical challenges for indoor applications and battery replacements. A proposed tracking system deals with several factors such as latency, energy consumption, and accuracy presenting an innovative solution for the mobile localization application. In this paper, a novel algorithm introduces a self-localization algorithm for mobile targets using the wake-up media access control (MAC) protocol. The developed tracking application is based on the trilateration technique with received signal strength indication (RSSI) measurements. Simulations are implemented in the objective modular network testbed in C++ (OMNeT++) discrete event simulator using the C++ programming language, and the RSSI values introduced are based on real indoor measurements. In addition, a determination approach for finding the optimal parameters of RSSI is assigned to implement for the simulation parameters. Simulation results show a significant reduction in power consumption and exceptional accuracy, with an average error of 1.91 m in 90% of cases. Localization of wireless transmitters is traditionally done using Radio Frequency (RF) sensors that measure the propagation delays between the transmitter and a set of anchor receivers. One of the major challenges of wireless localization systems is the need for anchor nodes to be time-synchronized to achieve accurate localization of a target node. Using a reference transmitter is an efficient way to synchronize the anchor nodes Over-The-Air (OTA), but such algorithms require multiple periodic messages to achieve tight synchronization. In this paper, we propose a new synchronization method that only requires a single message from a reference transmitter. The main idea is to use the Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) from the reference node, alongside the Time of Arrival (ToA) of the reference node messages, to achieve tight synchronization. The ToA allows the anchor nodes to compensate for their absolute time offset, and the CFO allows the anchor nodes to compensate for their local oscillator drift. Additionally, using the CFO of the messages sent by the reference nodes and the target nodes also allow us to estimate the speed of the targets. The error of the proposed algorithm is derived analytically and is validated through controlled laboratory experiments. Ship fire may result in significant damage to its structure and large economic loss. Hence, the prompt identification of fires is essential in order to provide prompt reactions and effective mitigation strategies. However, conventional detection systems exhibit limited efficacy and accuracy in detecting targets, which has been mostly attributed to limitations imposed by distance constraints and the motion of ships. Although the development of deep learning algorithms provides a potential solution, the computational complexity of ship fire detection algorithm pose significant challenges. To solve this, this paper proposes a lightweight ship fire detection algorithm based on YOLOv8n. Initially, a dataset, including more than 4000 unduplicated images and their labels, is established before training. In order to ensure the performance of algorithms, both fire inside ship rooms and also fire on board are considered. Then after tests, YOLOv8n is selected as the model with the best performance and fastest speed from among several advanced object detection algorithms. GhostnetV2-C2F is then inserted in the backbone of the algorithm for long-range attention with inexpensive operation. In addition, spatial and channel reconstruction convolution (SCConv) is used to reduce redundant features with significantly lower complexity and computational costs for real-time ship fire detection. For the neck part, omni-dimensional dynamic convolution is used for the multi-dimensional attention mechanism, which also lowers the parameters. After these improvements, a lighter and more accurate YOLOv8n algorithm, called Ship-Fire Net, was proposed. The proposed method exceeds 0.93, both in precision and recall for fire and smoke detection in ships. In addition, the mAP@0.5 reaches about 0.9. Despite the improvement in accuracy, Ship-Fire Net also has fewer parameters and lower FLOPs compared to the original, which accelerates its detection speed. This paper proposes an efficient algorithm for edge-preserving filtering with multiple guidance images, so-called multilateral filtering. Multimodal signal processing for sensor fusion is increasingly important in image sensing. Edge-preserving filtering is available for various sensor fusion applications, such as estimating scene properties and refining inverse-rendered images. The main application is joint edge-preserving filtering, which can preferably reflect the edge information of a guidance image from an additional sensor. The drawback of edge-preserving filtering lies in its long computational time; thus, many acceleration methods have been proposed. However, most accelerated filtering cannot handle multiple guidance information well, although the multiple guidance information provides us with various benefits. Therefore, we extend the efficient edge-preserving filters so that they can use additional multiple guidance images. Our algorithm, named decomposes multilateral filtering (DMF), can extend the efficient filtering methods to the multilateral filtering method, which decomposes the filter into a set of constant-time filtering. Power transformers play a critical role in power systems, and the early detection of their faults and defects, accounting for over 30%, can be achieved through abnormal sound analysis. Sound source localization based on microphone arrays has proven effective in focusing on the troubleshooting scope, preventing potential severe hazards caused by delays in fault removal, and significantly reducing operational and maintenance difficulties and costs. However, existing microphone array-based sound source localization algorithms face challenges in maintaining both accuracy and simplicity and especially suffer from a sharp decrease in performance when dealing with multiple sound sources. This paper presents a multi-sound source localization algorithm for transformer faults based on polyphase filters, integrating the sum-difference monopulse angle measurement technique into the microphone array. Firstly, the signals received from the transformers are divided into multiple subbands using polyphase filters, allowing for multi-source separation and reducing the sampling rate of each subband. Next, the time-domain signals in subbands subject to noise suppression are processed into sum and difference beams. The resulting beam outputs are transformed into frequency-domain signals using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), effectively enhancing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for separate sound sources. Finally, each subband undergoes sum-difference monopulse angle measurement in the frequency domain to achieve the high-precision localization of specific faults. The proposed algorithm has been demonstrated to be effective in achieving higher localization accuracy and reducing computational complexity in the presence of actual amplitude-phase errors in microphone arrays. These advantages can facilitate its practical applications. Shared control algorithms have emerged as a promising approach for enabling real-time driver automated system cooperation in automated vehicles. These algorithms allow human drivers to actively participate in the driving process while receiving continuous assistance from the automated system in specific scenarios. However, despite the theoretical benefits being analyzed in various works, further demonstrations of the effectiveness and user acceptance of these approaches in real-world scenarios are required due to the involvement of the human driver in the control loop. Given this perspective, this paper presents and analyzes the results of a simulator-based study conducted to evaluate a shared control algorithm for a critical lateral maneuver. The maneuver involves the automated system helping to avoid an oncoming motorcycle that enters the vehicle's lane. The study's goal is to assess the algorithm's performance, safety, and user acceptance within this specific scenario. For this purpose, objective measures, such as collision avoidance and lane departure prevention, as well as subjective measures related to the driver's sense of safety and comfort are studied. In addition, three levels of assistance (gentle, intermediate, and aggressive) are tested in two driver state conditions (focused and distracted). This paper describes the optimal design of a miniature fiber-optic linear displacement sensor. It is characterized by its ability to measure displacements along a millimetric range with sub-micrometric resolution. The sensor consists of a triangular reflective grating and two fiber-optic probes. The measurement principle of the sensor is presented. The design of the sensor's triangular grating has been geometrically optimized by considering the step angle of the grating to enhance the sensor's resolution. This paper proposes the Lock-Position-Based RFID Adaptive Parallel Collision Tree (LAPCT) algorithm to address the issues of excessive time slots required in the identification process of collision tree algorithms for multiple tags and the high communication complexity between the reader and multiple tags. The LAPCT algorithm adopts a single-query multiple-response mechanism and dynamically divides the response sub-cycle numbers in the identification cycle based on an adaptive strategy. It uses Manchester encoding to lock collision positions and generate a common query prefix, effectively reducing the number of reader queries. This reduction in queries decreases the total number of required time slots and transmitted bits during the reader–tag communication process, thereby improving the efficiency of multiple tag recognition. Theoretical and simulation experiments demonstrate that compared to similar algorithms, the LAPCT algorithm achieves a maximum reduction of 37% in total time slots required, a maximum improvement of 30% in recognition efficiency, and a maximum reduction of 90% in communication complexity. Furthermore, with an increase in the number of tags, the performance advantages of the LAPCT algorithm become more pronounced, making it suitable for large-scale tag scenarios. Fiber optic gyroscope (FOG)-based north finding is extensively applied in navigation, positioning, and various fields. In dynamic north finding, an accelerated turntable speed shortens the time required for north finding, resulting in a rapid north-finding response. However, with an increase in turntable speed, the turntable's jitter contributes to signal contamination in the FOG, leading to a deterioration in north-finding accuracy. This paper introduces a divide-and-conquer algorithm, the segmented cross-correlation algorithm, designed to mitigate the impact of turntable speed jitter. A model for north-finding error is established and analyzed, incorporating FOG's self-noise and the turntable's speed jitter. To validate the feasibility of our method, we implemented the algorithm on a FOG. The simulation and experimental results exhibited a strong concordance, affirming the validity of our proposed north-finding error model. The experimental findings indicate that, at a turntable speed of 180°/s, the north-finding bias error within a 360 s duration is 0.052°, representing a 64% improvement over the traditional algorithm. These results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in mitigating the impact of unstable turntable speeds, offering a solution for north finding with both prompt response and enhanced accuracy. Multitarget positioning technology, such as FMCW millimeter-wave radar, has broad application prospects in autonomous driving and related mobile scenarios. However, it is difficult for existing correlation algorithms to balance high resolution and low complexity, and it is also difficult to ensure the robustness of the positioning algorithm using an aging antenna. This paper proposes a super-resolution and low-complexity positioning algorithm based on the orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm that can achieve more accurate distance and angle estimation for multiple objects in a low-SNR environment. The algorithm proposed in this paper improves the resolving power by two and one orders of magnitude, respectively, compared to the classical FFT and MUSIC algorithms in the same signal-to-noise environment, and the complexity of the algorithm can be reduced by about 25–30%, with the same resolving power as the OMP algorithm. Based on the positioning algorithm proposed in our paper, we use the PSO algorithm to optimize the arrangement of an aging antenna array so that its angle estimation accuracy is equivalent to that observed when the antenna is intact, improving the positioning algorithm's robustness. This paper also further realizes the use of the proposed algorithm and a single-frame intermediate frequency signal to estimate the position angle information of the object and obtain its motion trajectory and velocity, verifying the proposed algorithm's estimation ability when it comes to these qualities in a moving scene. Furthermore, this paper designs and carries out simulations and experiments. The experimental results verify that the positioning algorithm proposed in this paper can achieve accuracy, robustness, and real-time performance in autonomous driving scenarios. There are six possible solutions for the surface normal vectors obtained from polarization information during 3D reconstruction. To resolve the ambiguity of surface normal vectors, scholars have introduced additional information, such as shading information. However, this makes the 3D reconstruction task too burdensome. Therefore, in order to make the 3D reconstruction more generally applicable, this paper proposes a complete framework to reconstruct the surface of an object using only polarized images. To solve the ambiguity problem of surface normal vectors, a jump-compensated U-shaped generative adversarial network (RU-Gan) based on jump compensation is designed for fusing six surface normal vectors. Among them, jump compensation is proposed in the encoder and decoder parts, and the content loss function is reconstructed, among other approaches. For the problem that the reflective region of the original image will cause the estimated normal vector to deviate from the true normal vector, a specular reflection model is proposed to optimize the dataset, thus reducing the reflective region. Experiments show that the estimated normal vector obtained in this paper improves the accuracy by about 20° compared with the previous conventional work, and improves the accuracy by about 1.5° compared with the recent neural network model, which means the neural network model proposed in this paper is more suitable for the normal vector estimation task. Furthermore, the object surface reconstruction framework proposed in this paper has the characteristics of simple implementation conditions and high accuracy of reconstructed texture. Visual simultaneous localization and mapping is a widely used technology for mobile robots to carry out precise positioning in the environment of GNSS technology failure. However, as the robot moves around indoors, its position accuracy will gradually decrease over time due to common and unavoidable environmental factors. In this paper, we propose an improved method called RTABMAP-VIWO, which is based on RTABMAP. The basic idea is to use an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) framework for fusion attitude estimates from the wheel odometry and IMU, and provide new prediction values. This helps to reduce the local cumulative error of RTABMAP and make it more accurate. We compare and evaluate three kinds of SLAM methods using both public datasets and real indoor scenes. In the dataset experiments, our proposed method reduces the Root-Mean-Square Error (RMSE) coefficient by 48.1% compared to the RTABMAP, and the coefficient is also reduced by at least 29.4% in the real environment experiments. The results demonstrate that the improved method is feasible. By incorporating the IMU into the RTABMAP method, the trajectory and posture errors of the mobile robot are significantly improved.
