With the increasing popularity of online foreign language teaching and learning practice, learners and teachers have developed a high demand for evaluation of teaching effectiveness. When we focus discussion on international Chinese teaching, which has been developed for a relatively short time and not experienced enough, online teaching effectiveness evaluation has become an important obstacle to the development of teaching. This paper introduces a hybrid technique based on fuzzy evaluation method, for determining and suggesting possible types of errors in international Chinese online listening and speaking instruction and giving suggestions for improvement. The system can help learners to identify and determine the types of errors in Chinese listening and speaking learning in a timely manner and make a more objective and comprehensive evaluation of learning performance; at the same time, it helps teachers to trace the effectiveness of teaching design and implementation in a targeted manner and make corresponding scientific decisions. This hybrid technology combines existing language teaching evaluation models, takes advantage of data from online education, and creates corresponding criteria through machine learning fuzzy algorithms and large data sample training, combined with the theory of effective teaching evaluation, which is beneficial for all participants of online Chinese listening and speaking teaching to improve their learning effectiveness. There are many thyroid diseases affecting people all over the world. Many diseases affect the thyroid gland, like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid cancer. Thyroid inefficiency can cause severe symptoms in patients. Effective classification and machine learning play a significant role in the timely detection of thyroid diseases. This timely classification will indeed affect the timely treatment of the patients. Automatic and precise thyroid nodule detection in ultrasound pictures is critical for reducing effort and radiologists' mistake rate. Medical images have evolved into one of the most valuable and consistent data sources for machine learning generation. In this paper, various machine learning algorithms like decision tree, random forest algorithm, KNN, and artificial neural networks on the dataset create a comparative analysis to better predict the disease based on parameters established from the dataset. Also, the dataset has been manipulated for accurate prediction for the classification. The classification was performed on both the sampled and unsampled datasets for better comparison of the dataset. After dataset manipulation, we obtained the highest accuracy for the random forest algorithm, equal to 94.8% accuracy and 91% specificity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background. Chronic sinusitis (CRS) was a chronic inflammation that originated in the nasal mucosa and affected the health of most people around the world. Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) was one kind of chronic sinusitis. Emerging research had suggested that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) played vital parts in inflammatories and inflammation development. Methods. We acquired GEO data to analyze the differential expression between the miRNA, immune genes, TF, and lncRNA data in CRSWNP and the corresponding control tissues. Bioinformatic analysis by coexpression of endogenous RNA network and competitive way enrichment, analysis, and forecasting functions of these noncoding RNA. The different pathway expressions in CRSwNP patients were confirmed using GSVA to analyze the differentially expressed immune genes and TF data sets in CRSwNP patients. The differential immune gene and transcription factor data set in CRSwNP perform functional notes and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network structure. We predicted the potential genes and RNAs related to CRSWNP by constructing a ceRNA network. In addition, we also used 19 hub immune genes to predict the potential drugs of CRSWNP. lncRNA biomarkers in CRSwNP were identified by lncRNAs LASSO regression. The CIBERSORT algorithm was used to contrast the divergence in immune infiltrations between CRSwNP and usual inferior turbinate organizations in 22 immunocyte subgroups. Results. We identified a total of 48 miRNAs, 304 lncRNAs, 92 TFs, and 525 immune genes as CRSwNP-specific RNAs. GO and KEGG pathways both analyzed differentially expressed immune genes and transcription factor data sets. We predicted the potential genes GNG7, TUSC8, LINC01198, and has-miR-6776-5p by constructing ceRNA and PPI networks. At the same time, we found that the above genes were involved in two important pathways: chemokine signal path and PI3K/AKT signal path. In addition, we predicted 5 small molecule drugs to treat CRSwNP by analyzing 19 central immune genes, namely, danazol, ikarugamycin, semustine, cefamandole, and molindone. Finally, we identified 5 biomarkers in CRSwNP, namely, LINC01198, LINC01094, LINC01798, LINC01829, and LINC01320. Conclusions. We had identified CRSwNP-related miRNAs, lncRNAs, TFs, and immune genes, which may be making use of latent therapeutic target for CRSwNP. At the same time, we identified 5 lncRNA biomarkers in CRSwNP. The results of this study showed that LINC01198 promoted the progression of CRSwNPs through spongy miR-6776-5p. Objective. To establish a machine learning model for identifying patients coinfected with hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) through two sexual transmission routes in Jiangsu, China. Methods. A total of 14197 HIV cases transmitted by homosexual and heterosexual routes were recruited. After data processing, 12469 cases (HIV and HBV, 1033; HIV, 11436) were left for further analysis, including 7849 cases with homosexual transmission and 4620 cases with heterosexual transmission. Univariate logistic regression was used to select variables with significant P value and odds ratio for multivariable analysis. In homosexual transmission and heterosexual transmission groups, 10 and 6 variables were selected, respectively. For identifying HIV individuals coinfected with HBV, a machine learning model was constructed with four algorithms, including Decision Tree, Random Forest, AdaBoost with decision tree (AdaBoost), and extreme gradient boosting decision tree (XGBoost). The detective value of each variable was calculated using the optimal machine learning algorithm. Results. AdaBoost algorithm showed the highest efficiency in both transmission groups (homosexual transmission group: accuracy = 0.928 , precision = 0.915 , recall = 0.944 , F − 1 = 0.930 , and AUC = 0.96 ; heterosexual transmission group: accuracy = 0.892 , precision = 0.881 , recall = 0.905 , F − 1 = 0.893 , and AUC = 0.98). Calculated by AdaBoost algorithm, the detective value of PLA was the highest in homosexual transmission group, followed by CR, AST, HB, ALT, TBIL, leucocyte, age, marital status, and treatment condition; in the heterosexual transmission group, the detective value of PLA was the highest (consistent with the condition in the homosexual group), followed by ALT, AST, TBIL, leucocyte, and symptom severity. Conclusions. The univariate logistics regression combined with the AdaBoost algorithm could accurately screen the risk factors of HBV in HIV coinfection without invasive testing. As a rare and exceptional injury with significant syndesmotic disruption, the outcome of Logsplitter injury remains poor and unfavorable. In this study, we retrospectively investigated the relationship between the intraoperative reduction quality and the prognosis such as the posttraumatic osteoarthritis to help surgeons achieve better functional outcomes for this high-energy transsyndesmotic ankle fracture dislocation. From January 2015 to February 2019, 31 patients (average 37.6 ± 9.4 years with 19 male and 12 female) diagnosed with the Logsplitter injury were treated by ORIF procedure and enrolled in our study. Particularly, nine vital radiographic parameters including medial clear space, talocrural angle, superior clear space, tibiofibular clear space, tibiofibular overlap, talar tilt, coin sign, tibial medial malleolus angle, and fibular lateral malleolus angle were measured from a postoperative film (AP and mortise view). Next, we compared the clinical outcome by using range of ankle motion, AOFAS scores, Burwell-Charnley score system, and Kellergen-Lawrence criteria from the patients who obtained the intraoperative anatomical reduction with those who failed. Our results showed that AOFAS score with all the patients was 79.33 ± 5.82 at the final follow-up. 14 (45.1%) of 31 patients were observed with radiographic posttraumatic arthritis of the ankle joint with an average Kellgren-Lawrence score of 1.75 ± 1.6 at final follow-up. Most importantly, our results proved that there were significant differences between the patients eligible for anatomical reduction quality with those who failed with regard to OA rate (33.3% vs. 85.7%, P = 0.003) and AOFAS scores (75.33 ± 6.53 vs. 66.89 ± 4.28 , P = 0.037) at the final follow-up. Furthermore, the functional outcome after the operation showed an increased range of motion of the ankle joint of the patients obtained anatomical reduction compared with those who failed (P < 0.05). In this study, the significant discrepancy with regard to the functional outcomes was observed between the acceptable and unacceptable radiographic parameters, indicating that the quality of intraoperative reduction is scientifically significant and thus can be utilized as the major factor to predict the clinical outcomes for Logsplitter injuries. Skull sex estimation is one of the hot research topics in forensic anthropology, and has important research value in the fields of criminal investigation, archeology, anthropology, and so on. Sex estimation of skull is crucial in forensic investigations, whether in legal situations that involve living people or to identify mortal remains. The aim of this study is to establish a skull-based sex estimation model in Chinese population, providing a scientific reference for the practical application of forensic medicine and anthropology. We take the superior orbital margin and frontal bone of the skull as the research object and proposed a technology of objective sex estimation of the skull using wavelet transform and Fourier transform. Firstly, the supraorbital margin and frontal bone were quantified by wavelet transform and Fourier transform, and then the extracted features were classified by SVM, and the model was tested. The experimental results show that the accuracy rate of male and female sex discrimination is 90.9% and 94.4%, respectively, which is higher than that of morphological and measurement methods. Compared with the traditional methods, the method has more theoretical basis and objectivity, and the correct rate is higher. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
