The analysis of flaws in structures is an important engineering problem. The identification technique can be a useful tool to develop predictive models that easily allow detecting defects and unexpected problems. Many studies have been carried out to obtain the parameters to represent the behaviour of structures in terms of time histories, frequency, response curves, and mode shapes. The use of simple models based on experimental data is a need to prevent the occurrence of undesired phenomena. In this paper, a method for the structural identification of tall buildings is presented. The method has been applied to the Enel skyscraper situated in Naples, Italy. The 120 meters building is made by the composition of two towers linked on the top by a steel girder with reinforced concrete piled foundations. The identification of this particular reinforced concrete structure has been based on the experimental data obtained by a scaled model. The simplified method proposed consists of a procedure of steps of system identification using a finite element model. An iterative process has been performed updating step by step the model, starting from the first three experimental natural frequencies and modes.
