Subject motion is a long-standing problem of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which can seriously deteriorate the image quality. Various prospective and retrospective methods have been proposed for MRI motion correction, among which deep learning approaches have achieved state-of-the-art motion correction performance. This survey paper aims to provide a comprehensive review of deep learning-based MRI motion correction methods. Neural networks used for motion artifacts reduction and motion estimation in the image domain or frequency domain are detailed. Furthermore, besides motion-corrected MRI reconstruction, how estimated motion is applied in other downstream tasks is briefly introduced, aiming to strengthen the interaction between different research areas. Objective: The Visiopharm artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm for oestrogen receptor (ER) immunohistochemistry (IHC) in whole slide images (WSIs) has been successfully validated in surgical pathology. This study aimed to assess its efficacy in cytology specimens., Methods: The study cohort comprised 105 consecutive cytology specimens with metastatic breast carcinoma. ER IHC WSIs were seamlessly integrated into the Visiopharm platform from the Image Management System (IMS) during our routine digital workflow, and an AI algorithm was employed for analysis. ER AI scores were compared with pathologists' manual consensus scores. Optimization steps were implemented and evaluated to reduce discordance., Results: The overall concordance between pathologists' scores and AI scores was excellent (99/105, 94.3%). Six cases exhibited discordant results, including two false-negative (FN) cases due to abundant histiocytes incorrectly counted as negatively stained tumour cells by AI, two FN cases owing to weak staining, and two false-positive (FP) cases where pigmented macrophages were erroneously counted as positively stained tumour cells by AI. The Pearson correlation coefficient of ER-positive percentages between pathologists' and AI scores was 0.8483. Optimization steps, such as lowering the cut-off threshold and additional training using higher input magnification, significantly improved accuracy., Conclusions: The automated ER AI algorithm demonstrated excellent concordance with pathologists' assessments and accurately differentiated ER-positive from ER-negative metastatic breast carcinoma cytology cases. The rapid introduction of digital pathology has greatly facilitated development of artificial intelligence (AI) models in pathology that have shown great promise in assisting morphological diagnostics and quantitation of therapeutic targets. We are now at a tipping point where companies have started to bring algorithms to the market, and questions arise whether the pathology community is ready to implement AI in routine workflow. Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) techniques have been increasingly used to overcome the challenges in drug discovery. Although traditional AI techniques generally have high accuracy rates, there may be difficulties in explaining the decision process and patterns. This can create difficulties in understanding and making sense of the outputs of algorithms used in drug discovery. Therefore, using explainable AI (XAI) techniques, the causes and consequences of the decision process are better understood. This can help further improve the drug discovery process and make the right decisions. To address this issue, Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) emerged as a process and method that securely captures the results and outputs of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms. Using techniques such as SHAP (SHApley Additive ExPlanations) and LIME (Locally Interpretable Model-Independent Explanations) has made the drug targeting phase clearer and more understandable. XAI methods are expected to reduce time and cost in future computational drug discovery studies. This review provides a comprehensive overview of XAI-based drug discovery and development prediction. The so-coined fourth paradigm in science has reached the sensing area, with the use of machine learning (ML) toward data-driven improvements in sensitivity, reproducibility, and accuracy, along with the determination of multiple targets from a single measurement using multi-output regression models. Particularly, the use of supervised ML models trained on large data sets produced by electrical and electrochemical bio/sensors has emerged as an impacting trend in the literature by allowing accurate analyses even in the presence of usual issues such as electrode fouling, poor signal-to-noise ratio, chemical interferences, and matrix effects. In this trend article, apart from an outlook for the coming years, we present examples from the literature that demonstrate how helpful ML algorithms can be for dispensing the adoption of experimental methods to address the aforesaid interfering issues, ultimately contributing to translate testing technologies into on-site, practical, and daily applications., (© 2023. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical image interpretation requires effective collaboration between clinicians and AI algorithms. Although previous studies demonstrated the potential of AI assistance in improving overall clinician performance, the individual impact on clinicians remains unclear. This large-scale study examined the heterogeneous effects of AI assistance on 140 radiologists across 15 chest X-ray diagnostic tasks and identified predictors of these effects. Surprisingly, conventional experience-based factors, such as years of experience, subspecialty and familiarity with AI tools, fail to reliably predict the impact of AI assistance. Additionally, lower-performing radiologists do not consistently benefit more from AI assistance, challenging prevailing assumptions. Instead, we found that the occurrence of AI errors strongly influences treatment outcomes, with inaccurate AI predictions adversely affecting radiologist performance on the aggregate of all pathologies and on half of the individual pathologies investigated. Our findings highlight the importance of personalized approaches to clinician-AI collaboration and the importance of accurate AI models. Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm, previously trained using both adult and pediatric patients, for the detection of acute appendicular fractures in the pediatric population on conventional X-ray radiography (CXR)., Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, anonymized extremities CXRs of pediatric patients (age <17 years), with or without fractures, were included. Six hundred CXRs (maintaining the positive-for-fracture and negative-for-fracture balance) were included, grouping them per body part (shoulder/clavicle, elbow/upper arm, hand/wrist, leg/knee, foot/ankle). Follow-up CXRs and/or second-level imaging were considered as reference standard. A deep learning algorithm interpreted CXRs for fracture detection on a per-patient, per-radiograph, and per-location level, and its diagnostic performance values were compared with the reference standard. AI diagnostic performance was computed by using cross-tables, and 95 % confidence intervals [CIs] were obtained by bootstrapping., Results: The final cohort included 312 male and 288 female with a mean age of 8.9±4.5 years. Three undred CXRs (50 %) were positive for fractures, according to the reference standard. For all fractures, the AI tool showed a per-patient 91.3% (95%CIs = 87.6-94.3) sensitivity, 76.7% (71.5-81.3) specificity, and 84% (82.1-86.0) accuracy. In the per-radiograph analysis the AI tool showed 85% (81.9-87.8) sensitivity, 88.5% (86.3-90.4) specificity, and 87.2% (85.7-89.6) accuracy. One of the early goals of artificial intelligence (AI) was to create algorithms that exhibited behavior indistinguishable from human behavior (i.e., human-like behavior). Today, AI has diverged, often aiming to excel in tasks inspired by human capabilities and outperform humans, rather than replicating human cogntion and action. In this paper, I explore the overarching question of whether computational algorithms have achieved this initial goal of AI. I focus on dynamic decision-making, approaching the question from the perspective of computational cognitive science. I present a general cognitive algorithm that intends to emulate human decision-making in dynamic environments, as defined in instance-based learning theory (IBLT). I use the cognitive steps proposed in IBLT to organize and discuss current evidence that supports some of the human-likeness of the decision-making mechanisms. I also highlight the significant gaps in research that are required to improve current models and to create higher fidelity in computational algorithms to represent human decision processes. I conclude with concrete steps toward advancing the construction of algorithms that exhibit human-like behavior with the ultimate goal of supporting human dynamic decision-making.

Inspired by significant technical advancements, a rapidly growing stream of research explores human lay beliefs and reactions surrounding AI tools, which employ algorithms to mimic elements of human intelligence. This literature predominantly documents negative reactions to these tools or the underlying algorithms, often referred to as algorithm aversion or, alternatively, a preference for humans. This article proposes a third interpretation: people may be averse to their labels, but appreciative of their output. This perspective offers three core insights for how we study people's reactions to algorithms. This study investigated the impact of climate change on flood susceptibility in six South Asian countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Bharat (India), Nepal, and Pakistan-under two distinct Shared Socioeconomic Pathway (SSP) scenarios: SSP1-2.6 and SSP5-5.8, for 2041-2060 and 2081-2100. To predict flood susceptibility, we employed three artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms: the K-nearest neighbor (KNN), conditional inference random forest (CIRF), and regularized random forest (RRF). Predictions were based on data from 2452 historical flood events, alongside climatic variables measured over monthly, seasonal, and annual timeframes. The innovative aspect of this research is the emphasis on using climatic variables across these progressively condensed timeframes, specifically addressing eight precipitation factors. The performance evaluation, employing the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) metric, identified the RRF model as the most accurate, with the highest AUC of 0.94 during the testing phase, followed by the CIRF (AUC = 0.91) and the KNN (AUC = 0.86). An analysis of variable importance highlighted the substantial role of certain climatic factors, namely precipitation in the warmest quarter, annual precipitation, and precipitation during the wettest month, in the modeling of flood susceptibility in South Asia. The resultant flood susceptibility maps demonstrated the influence of climate change scenarios on susceptibility classifications, signalling a dynamic landscape of flood-prone areas over time. The findings revealed variable trends under different climate change scenarios and periods, with marked differences in the percentage of areas classified as having high and very high flood susceptibility. Prediction of heart diseases on time is significant in order to preserve life. Many conventional methods have taken efforts on earlier prediction but faced with challenges of higher prediction cost, extended time for computation and complexities with larger volume of data which reduced prediction accuracy. In order to overcome such pitfalls, AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology has been evolved in diagnosing heart diseases through deployment of several ML (Machine Learning) and DL (Deep Learning) algorithms. It improves detection by influencing with its capacity of learning from the massive data containing age, obesity, hypertension and other risk factors of patients and extract it accordingly to differentiate on the circumstances. Moreover, storage of larger data with AI greatly assists in analysing the occurrence of the disease from past historical data. Hence, this paper intends to provide a review on different AI based algorithms used in the heart disease prognostication and delivers its benefits through researching on various existing works. It performs comparative analysis and critical assessment as encompassing accuracies and maximum utilization of algorithms focussed by traditional studies in this area. The major findings of the paper emphasized on the evolution and continuous explorations of AI techniques for heart disease prediction and the future researchers aims in determining the dimensions that have attained high and low prediction accuracies on which appropriate research works can be performed. Finally, future research is included to offer new stimulus for further investigation of AI in cardiac disease diagnosis.

The role of knowledge graph encompasses the representation, organization, retrieval, reasoning, and application of knowledge, providing a rich and robust cognitive foundation for artificial intelligence systems and applications. When we learn new things, find out that some old information was wrong, see changes and progress happening, and adopt new technology standards, we need to update knowledge graphs. However, in some environments, the initial knowledge cannot be known. For example, we cannot have access to the full code of a software, even if we purchased it. In such circumstances, is there a way to update a knowledge graph without prior knowledge? In this paper, We are investigating whether there is a method for this situation within the framework of Dalal revision operators. We first proved that finding the optimal solution in this environment is a strongly NP-complete problem. Objectives: In solving the trust issues surrounding machine learning algorithms whose reasoning cannot be understood, advancements can be made toward the integration of machine learning algorithms into mHealth applications. The aim of this paper is to provide a transparency layer to black-box machine learning algorithms and empower mHealth applications to maximize their efficiency., Methods: Using a machine learning testing framework, we present the process of knowledge transfer between a white-box model and a black-box model and the evaluation process to validate the success of the knowledge transfer., Results: The presentation layer of the final output of the base white-box model and the knowledge-infused white-box model shows clear differences in reasoning. The correlation between the base black-box model and the new knowledge-infused model is very high, indicating that the knowledge transfer was successful., Conclusion: There is a clear need for transparency in digital health and health in general. Background: Among patients with obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) on coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA), downstream positron emission tomography (PET) perfusion imaging can be performed to assess the presence of myocardial ischemia. A novel artificial-intelligence-guided quantitative computed tomography ischemia algorithm (AI-QCT ischemia ) aims to predict ischemia directly from coronary CTA images. We aimed to study the prognostic value of AI-QCT ischemia among patients with obstructive CAD on coronary CTA and normal or abnormal downstream PET perfusion., Methods: AI-QCT ischemia was calculated by blinded analysts among patients from the retrospective coronary CTA cohort at Turku University Hospital, Finland, with obstructive CAD on initial visual reading (diameter stenosis ≥50%) being referred for downstream 15 O-H 2 O-PET adenosine stress perfusion imaging. All coronary arteries with their side branches were assessed by AI-QCT ischemia . Absolute stress myocardial blood flow ≤2.3 ​ml/g/min in ≥2 adjacent segments was considered abnormal. The primary endpoint was death, myocardial infarction, or unstable angina pectoris. The median follow-up was 6.2 [IQR 4.4-8.3] years., Results: 662 of 768 (86%) patients had conclusive AI-QCT ischemia result. In patients with normal 15 O-H 2 O-PET perfusion, an abnormal AI-QCT ischemia result (n ​= ​147/331) vs. normal AI-QCT ischemia result (n ​= ​184/331) was associated with a significantly higher crude and adjusted rates of the primary endpoint (adjusted HR 2.47, 95% CI 1.17-5.21, p ​= ​0.018). Objectives: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the current performance of artificial intelligence (AI)-based methods for tooth segmentation in three-dimensional cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images, with a focus on their accuracy and efficiency compared to those of manual segmentation techniques., Data: The data analyzed in this review consisted of a wide range of research studies utilizing AI algorithms for tooth segmentation in CBCT images. Meta-analysis was performed, focusing on the evaluation of the segmentation results using the dice similarity coefficient (DSC)., Sources: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and IEEE Explore were comprehensively searched to identify relevant studies. The initial search yielded 5642 entries, and subsequent screening and selection processes led to the inclusion of 35 studies in the systematic review. Among the various segmentation methods employed, convolutional neural networks, particularly the U-net model, are the most commonly utilized. The pooled effect of the DSC score for tooth segmentation was 0.95 (95 %CI 0.94 to 0.96). Furthermore, seven papers provided insights into the time required for segmentation, which ranged from 1.5 s to 3.4 min when utilizing AI techniques., Conclusions: AI models demonstrated favorable accuracy in automatically segmenting teeth from CBCT images while reducing the time required for the process. Nevertheless, correction methods for metal artifacts and tooth structure segmentation using different imaging modalities should be addressed in future studies., Clinical Significance: AI algorithms have great potential for precise tooth measurements, orthodontic treatment planning, dental implant placement, and other dental procedures that require accurate tooth delineation. Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) medical devices have the potential to transform existing clinical workflows and ultimately improve patient outcomes. AI medical devices have shown potential for a range of clinical tasks such as diagnostics, prognostics, and therapeutic decision-making such as drug dosing. There is, however, an urgent need to ensure that these technologies remain safe for all populations. Recent literature demonstrates the need for rigorous performance error analysis to identify issues such as algorithmic encoding of spurious correlations (eg, protected characteristics) or specific failure modes that may lead to patient harm. Guidelines for reporting on studies that evaluate AI medical devices require the mention of performance error analysis; however, there is still a lack of understanding around how performance errors should be analyzed in clinical studies, and what harms authors should aim to detect and report., Objective: This systematic review will assess the frequency and severity of AI errors and adverse events (AEs) in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating AI medical devices as interventions in clinical settings. The review will also explore how performance errors are analyzed including whether the analysis includes the investigation of subgroup-level outcomes., Methods: This systematic review will identify and select RCTs assessing AI medical devices. Search strategies will be deployed in MEDLINE (Ovid), Embase (Ovid), Cochrane CENTRAL, and clinical trial registries to identify relevant papers. RCTs identified in bibliographic databases will be cross-referenced with clinical trial registries. The primary outcomes of interest are the frequency and severity of AI errors, patient harms, and reported AEs. Quality assessment of RCTs will be based on version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool (RoB2). Data analysis will include a comparison of error rates and patient harms between study arms, and a meta-analysis of the rates of patient harm in control versus intervention arms will be conducted if appropriate., Results: The project was registered on PROSPERO in February 2023. Preliminary searches have been completed and the search strategy has been designed in consultation with an information specialist and methodologist. Title and abstract screening started in September 2023. Full-text screening is ongoing and data collection and analysis began in April 2024., Conclusions: Evaluations of AI medical devices have shown promising results; however, reporting of studies has been variable. Detection, analysis, and reporting of performance errors and patient harms is vital to robustly assess the safety of AI medical devices in RCTs. Scoping searches have illustrated that the reporting of harms is variable, often with no mention of AEs. Recent advancements in computational intelligence, deep learning, and computer-aided detection have had a significant impact on the field of medical imaging. The task of image segmentation, which involves accurately interpreting and identifying the content of an image, has garnered much attention. The main objective of this task is to separate objects from the background, thereby simplifying and enhancing the significance of the image. However, existing methods for image segmentation have their limitations when applied to certain types of images. This survey paper aims to highlight the importance of image segmentation techniques by providing a thorough examination of their advantages and disadvantages. The accurate detection of cancer regions in medical images is crucial for ensuring effective treatment. In this study, we have also extensive analysis of Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) systems for cancer identification, with a focus on recent research advancements. The paper critically assesses various techniques for cancer detection and compares their effectiveness. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia, and out-of-hospital, wearable, long-term electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring can help with the early detection of AF. The presence of a motion artifact (MA) in ECG can significantly affect the characteristics of the ECG signal and hinder early detection of AF. Studies have shown that (a) using reference signals with a strong correlation with MAs in adaptive filtering (ADF) can eliminate MAs from the ECG, and (b) artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms can recognize AF when there is no presence of MAs. However, no literature has been reported on whether ADF can improve the accuracy of AI for recognizing AF in the presence of MAs. Therefore, this paper investigates the accuracy of AI recognition for AF when ECGs are artificially introduced with MAs and processed by ADF. In this study, 13 types of MA signals with different signal-to-noise ratios ranging from +8 dB to -16 dB were artificially added to the AF ECG dataset. Firstly, the accuracy of AF recognition using AI was obtained for a signal with MAs. Secondly, after removing the MAs by ADF, the signal was further identified using AI to obtain the accuracy of the AF recognition. We found that after undergoing ADF, the accuracy of AI recognition for AF improved under all MA intensities, with a maximum improvement of 60%., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflicts of interest. Peptide medications have been more well-known in recent years due to their many benefits, including low side effects, high biological activity, specificity, effectiveness, and so on. Over 100 peptide medications have been introduced to the market to treat a variety of illnesses. Most of these peptide medications are developed on the basis of endogenous peptides or natural peptides, which frequently required expensive, time-consuming, and extensive tests to confirm. As artificial intelligence advances quickly, it is now possible to build machine learning or deep learning models that screen a large number of candidate sequences for therapeutic peptides. Therapeutic peptides, such as those with antibacterial or anticancer properties, have been developed by the application of artificial intelligence algorithms.The process of finding and developing peptide drugs is outlined in this review, along with a few related cases that were helped by AI and conventional methods. These resources will open up new avenues for peptide drug development and discovery, helping to meet the pressing needs of clinical patients for disease treatment. Objectives: We evaluated methods for preparing electronic health record data to reduce bias before applying artificial intelligence (AI)., Methods: We created methods for transforming raw data into a data framework for applying machine learning and natural language processing techniques for predicting falls and fractures. Strategies such as inclusion and reporting for multiple races, mixed data sources such as outpatient, inpatient, structured codes, and unstructured notes, and addressing missingness were applied to raw data to promote a reduction in bias. The raw data was carefully curated using validated definitions to create data variables such as age, race, gender, and healthcare utilization. For the formation of these variables, clinical, statistical, and data expertise were used. The research team included a variety of experts with diverse professional and demographic backgrounds to include diverse perspectives., Results: For the prediction of falls, information extracted from radiology reports was converted to a matrix for applying machine learning. The processing of the data resulted in an input of 5,377,673 reports to the machine learning algorithm, out of which 45,304 were flagged as positive and 5,332,369 as negative for falls. Processed data resulted in lower missingness and a better representation of race and diagnosis codes. For fractures, specialized algorithms extracted snippets of text around keywork "femoral" from dual x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans to identify femoral neck T-scores that are important for predicting fracture risk. The natural language processing algorithms yielded 98% accuracy and 2% error rate The methods to prepare data for input to artificial intelligence processes are reproducible and can be applied to other studies., Conclusion: The life cycle of data from raw to analytic form includes data governance, cleaning, management, and analysis. Background and Objective: In everyday clinical practice, medical decision is currently based on clinical guidelines which are often static and rigid, and do not account for population variability, while individualized, patient-oriented decision and/or treatment are the paradigm change necessary to enter into the era of precision medicine. Most of the limitations of a guideline-based system could be overcome through the adoption of Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSSs) based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms. However, the black-box nature of AI algorithms has hampered a large adoption of AI-based CDSSs in clinical practice. In this study, an innovative AI-based method to compress AI-based prediction models into explainable, model-agnostic, and reduced decision support systems (NEAR) with application to healthcare is presented and validated., Methods: NEAR is based on the Shapley Additive Explanations framework and can be applied to complex input models to obtain the contributions of each input feature to the output. Technically, the simplified NEAR models approximate contributions from input features using a custom library and merge them to determine the final output. Finally, NEAR estimates the confidence error associated with the single input feature contributing to the final score, making the result more interpretable. Here, NEAR is evaluated on a clinical real-world use case, the mortality prediction in patients who experienced Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), applying three different Machine Learning/Deep Learning models as implementation examples., Results: NEAR, when applied to the ACS use case, exhibits performances like the ones of the AI-based model from which it is derived, as in the case of the Adaptive Boosting classifier, whose Area Under the Curve is not statistically different from the NEAR one, even the model's simplification. Aims: Coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) imaging is used to diagnose patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). A novel artificial intelligence-guided quantitative computed tomography ischaemia algorithm (AI-QCTischaemia) aims to identify myocardial ischaemia directly from CTA images and may be helpful to improve risk stratification. The aims were to investigate (i) the prognostic value of AI-QCTischaemia amongst symptomatic patients with suspected CAD entering diagnostic imaging with coronary CTA and (ii) the prognostic value of AI-QCTischaemia separately amongst patients with no/non-obstructive CAD (≤50% visual diameter stenosis) and obstructive CAD (>50% visual diameter stenosis)., Methods and Results: For this cohort study, AI-QCTischaemia was calculated by blinded analysts amongst patients with suspected CAD undergoing coronary CTA. The primary endpoint was the composite of death, myocardial infarction (MI), or unstable angina pectoris (uAP) (median follow-up 6.9 years). A total of 1880/2271 (83%) patients had conclusive AI-QCTischaemia result. Patients with an abnormal AI-QCTischaemia result (n = 509/1880) vs. patients with a normal AI-QCTischaemia result (n = 1371/1880) had significantly higher crude and adjusted rates of the primary endpoint [adjusted hazard ratio (HRadj) 1.96, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.46-2.63, P < 0.001; covariates: age/sex/hypertension/diabetes/smoking/typical angina]. An abnormal AI-QCTischaemia result was associated with significantly higher crude and adjusted rates of the primary endpoint amongst patients with no/non-obstructive CAD (n = 1373/1847) (HRadj 1.81, 95% CI 1.09-3.00, P = 0.022), but not amongst those with obstructive CAD (n = 474/1847) (HRadj 1.26, 95% CI 0.75-2.12, P = 0.386) (P-interaction = 0.032)., Conclusion: Amongst patients with suspected CAD, an abnormal AI-QCTischaemia result was associated with a two-fold increased adjusted rate of long-term death, MI, or uAP. Recently, skin cancer is one of the spread and dangerous cancers around the world. Early detection of skin cancer can reduce mortality. Traditional methods for skin cancer detection are painful, time-consuming, expensive, and may cause the disease to spread out. Dermoscopy is used for noninvasive diagnosis of skin cancer. Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a vital role in diseases' diagnosis especially in biomedical engineering field. The automated detection systems based on AI reduce the complications in the traditional methods and can improve skin cancer's diagnosis rate. In this paper, automated early detection system for skin cancer dermoscopic images using artificial intelligent is presented. Adaptive snake (AS) and region growing (RG) algorithms are used for automated segmentation and compared with each other. The results show that AS is accurate and efficient (accuracy = 96%) more than RG algorithm (accuracy = 90%). Artificial Neural networks (ANN) and support vector machine (SVM) algorithms are used for automated classification compared with each other. The proposed system with ANN algorithm shows high accuracy (94%), precision (96%), specificity (95.83%), sensitivity (recall) (92.30%), and F1-score (0.94). Artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized many fields, and its potential in healthcare has been increasingly recognized. Based on diverse data sources such as imaging, laboratory tests, medical records, and electrophysiological data, diagnostic AI has witnessed rapid development in recent years. A comprehensive understanding of the development status, contributing factors, and their relationships in the application of AI to medical diagnostics is essential to further promote its use in clinical practice. In this study, we conducted a bibliometric analysis to explore the evolution of task-specific to general-purpose AI for medical diagnostics. We used the Web of Science database to search for relevant articles published between 2010 and 2023, and applied VOSviewer, the R package Bibliometrix, and CiteSpace to analyze collaborative networks and keywords. Our analysis revealed that the field of AI in medical diagnostics has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with a focus on tasks such as image analysis, disease prediction, and decision support. Collaborative networks were observed among researchers and institutions, indicating a trend of global cooperation in this field. Additionally, we identified several key factors contributing to the development of AI in medical diagnostics, including data quality, algorithm design, and computational power. Challenges to progress in the field include model explainability, robustness, and equality, which will require multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle. Our study provides a holistic understanding of the path from task-specific, mono-modal AI toward general-purpose, multimodal AI for medical diagnostics. Artificial intelligence (AI) is infiltrating nearly all fields of science by storm. One notorious property that AI algorithms bring is their so-called black box character. In particular, they are said to be inherently unexplainable algorithms. Of course, such characteristics would pose a problem for the medical world, including radiology. The patient journey is filled with explanations along the way, from diagnoses to treatment, follow-up, and more. If we were to replace part of these steps with non-explanatory algorithms, we could lose grip on vital aspects such as finding mistakes, patient trust, and even the creation of new knowledge. In this article, we argue that, even for the darkest of black boxes, there is hope of understanding them. In particular, we compare the situation of understanding black box models to that of understanding the laws of nature in physics. In the case of physics, we are given a 'black box' law of nature, about which there is no upfront explanation. However, as current physical theories show, we can learn plenty about them. During this discussion, we present the process by which we make such explanations and the human role therein, keeping a solid focus on radiological AI situations. We will outline the AI developers' roles in this process, but also the critical role fulfilled by the practitioners, the radiologists, in providing a healthy system of continuous improvement of AI models. Oncology has emerged as a crucial field of study in the domain of medicine. Computed tomography has gained widespread adoption as a radiological modality for the identification and characterisation of pathologies, particularly in oncology, enabling precise identification of affected organs and tissues. However, achieving accurate liver segmentation in computed tomography scans remains a challenge due to the presence of artefacts and the varying densities of soft tissues and adjacent organs. This paper compares artificial intelligence algorithms and traditional medical image processing techniques to assist radiologists in liver segmentation in computed tomography scans and evaluates their accuracy and efficiency. Despite notable progress in the field, the limited availability of public datasets remains a significant barrier to broad participation in research studies and replication of methodologies. Future directions should focus on increasing the accessibility of public datasets, establishing standardised evaluation metrics, and advancing the development of three-dimensional segmentation techniques. In addition, maintaining a collaborative relationship between technological advances and medical expertise is essential to ensure that these innovations not only achieve technical accuracy, but also remain aligned with clinical needs and realities. This synergy ensures their applicability and effectiveness in real-world healthcare environments.

An inverted pendulum is a challenging underactuated system characterized by nonlinear behavior. Defining an effective control strategy for such a system is challenging. This paper presents an overview of the IP control system augmented by a comparative analysis of multiple control strategies. Linear techniques such as linear quadratic regulators (LQR) and progressing to nonlinear methods such as Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and back-stepping (BS), as well as artificial intelligence (AI) methods such as Fuzzy Logic Controllers (FLC) and SMC based Neural Networks (SMCNN). These strategies are studied and analyzed based on multiple parameters. Nonlinear techniques and AI-based approaches play key roles in mitigating IP nonlinearity and stabilizing its unbalanced form. The aforementioned algorithms are simulated and compared by conducting a comprehensive literature study. The results demonstrate that the SMCNN controller outperforms the LQR, SMC, FLC, and BS in terms of settling time, overshoot, and steady-state error. Furthermore, SMCNN exhibit superior performance for IP systems, albeit with a complexity trade-off compared to other techniques. Background: Machine learning could be used for prognosis/diagnosis of maternal and neonates' diseases by analyzing the data sets and profiles obtained from a pregnant mother., Purpose: We aimed to develop a prediction model based on machine learning algorithms to determine important maternal characteristics and neonates' anthropometric profiles as the predictors of neonates' health status., Methods: This study was conducted among 1280 pregnant women referred to healthcare centers to receive antenatal care. We evaluated several machine learning methods, including support vector machine (SVM), Ensemble, K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Naïve Bayes (NB), and Decision tree classifiers, to predict newborn health state., Results: The minimum redundancy-maximum relevance (MRMR) algorithm revealed that variables, including head circumference of neonates, pregnancy intention, and drug consumption history during pregnancy, were top-scored features for classifying normal and unhealthy infants. Among the different classification methods, the SVM classifier had the best performance. Deep learning-based super-resolution ultrasound (DL-SRU) framework has been successful in improving spatial resolution and measuring the velocity field information of a blood flows by localizing and tracking speckle signals of red blood cells (RBCs) without using any contrast agents. However, DL-SRU can localize only a small part of the speckle signals of blood flow owing to ambiguity problems encountered in the classification of blood flow signals from ultrasound B-mode images and the building up of suitable datasets required for training artificial neural networks, as well as the structural limitations of the neural network itself. An artificial intelligence-based speckle featurization and localization (AI-SFL) framework is proposed in this study. It includes a machine learning-based algorithm for classifying blood flow signals from ultrasound B-mode images, dimensionality reduction for featurizing speckle patterns of the classified blood flow signals by approximating them with quantitative values. A novel and robust neural network (ResSU-net) is trained using the online data generation (ODG) method and the extracted speckle features. The super-resolution performance of the proposed AI-SFL and ODG method is evaluated and compared with the results of previous U-net and conventional data augmentation methods under in silico conditions. The predicted locations of RBCs by the AI-SFL and DL-SRU for speckle patterns of blood flow are applied to a PTV algorithm to measure quantitative velocity fields of the flow. Electrocardiogram (ECG) are the physiological signals and a standard test to measure the heart's electrical activity that depicts the movement of cardiac muscles. A review study has been conducted on ECG signals analysis with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) methods over the last ten years i.e., 2012-22. Primarily, the method of ECG analysis by software systems was divided into classical signal processing (e.g. spectrograms or filters), machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), including recursive models, transformers and hybrid. Secondly, the data sources and benchmark datasets were depicted. Authors grouped resources by ECG acquisition methods into hospital-based portable machines and wearable devices. Authors also included new trends like advanced pre-processing, data augmentation, simulations and agent-based modeling. The study found improvement in ECG examination perfection made each year through ML, DL, hybrid models, and transformers. Convolutional neural networks and hybrid models were more targeted and proved efficient. The transformer model extended the accuracy from 90% to 98%. The Physio-Net library helps acquire ECG signals, including the popular benchmark databases such as MIT-BIH, PTB, and challenging datasets. Similarly, wearable devices have been established as a appropriate option for monitoring patient health without the time and place limitations and are also helpful for AI model calibration with so far accuracy of 82%-83% on Samsung smartwatch. In the pre-processing signals, spectrogram generation through Fourier and wavelet transformations are erected leading approaches promoting on average accuracy of 90%-95%. Likewise, data enhancement using geometrical techniques is well-considered; however, extraction and concatenation-based methods need attention. The increasing digitization of the healthcare system is leading to a growing volume of health data. Leveraging this data beyond its initial collection purpose for secondary use can provide valuable insights into diagnostics, treatment processes, and the quality of care. The Health Data Lab (HDL) will provide infrastructure for this purpose. Both the protection of patient privacy and optimal analytical capabilities are of central importance in this context, and artificial intelligence (AI) provides two opportunities. First, it enables the analysis of large volumes of data with flexible models, which means that hidden correlations and patterns can be discovered. Second, synthetic - that is, artificial - data generated by AI can protect privacy.This paper describes the KI-FDZ project, which aims to investigate innovative technologies that can support the secure provision of health data for secondary research purposes. A multi-layered approach is investigated in which data-level measures can be combined in different ways with processing in secure environments. To this end, anonymization and synthetization methods, among others, are evaluated based on two concrete application examples. Moreover, it is examined how the creation of machine learning pipelines and the execution of AI algorithms can be supported in secure processing environments. Preliminary results indicate that this approach can achieve a high level of protection while maintaining data validity. Canine personality and behavioural characteristics have a significant influence on relationships between domestic dogs and humans as well as determining the suitability of dogs for specific working roles. As a result, many researchers have attempted to develop reliable personality assessment tools for dogs. Most previous work has analysed dogs' behavioural patterns collected via questionnaires using traditional statistical analytic approaches. Artificial Intelligence has been widely and successfully used for predicting human personality types. However, similar approaches have not been applied to data on canine personality. In this research, machine learning techniques were applied to the classification of canine personality types using behavioural data derived from the C-BARQ project. As the dataset was not labelled, in the first step, an unsupervised learning approach was adopted and K-Means algorithm was used to perform clustering and labelling of the data. Five distinct categories of dogs emerged from the K-Means clustering analysis of behavioural data, corresponding to five different personality types. Feature importance analysis was then conducted to identify the relative importance of each behavioural variable's contribution to each cluster and descriptive labels were generated for each of the personality traits based on these associations. The five personality types identified in this paper were labelled: "Excitable/Hyperattached", "Anxious/Fearful", "Aloof/Predatory", "Reactive/Assertive", and "Calm/Agreeable". Four machine learning models including Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Naïve Bayes, and Decision Tree were implemented to predict the personality traits of dogs based on the labelled data. The performance of the models was evaluated using fivefold cross validation method and the results demonstrated that the Decision Tree model provided the best performance with a substantial accuracy of 99%. This paper is on the autonomous detection of humans in off-limits mountains. In off-limits mountains, a human rarely exists, thus human detection is an extremely rare event. Due to the advances in artificial intelligence, object detection-classification algorithms based on a Convolution Neural Network (CNN) can be used for this application. However, considering off-limits mountains, there should be no person in general. Thus, it is not desirable to run object detection-classification algorithms continuously, since they are computationally heavy. This paper addresses a time-efficient human detector system, based on both motion detection and object classification. The proposed scheme is to run a motion detection algorithm from time to time. In the camera image, we define a feasible human space where a human can appear. Once motion is detected inside the feasible human space, one enables the object classification, only inside the bounding box where motion is detected. Since motion detection inside the feasible human space runs much faster than an object detection-classification method, the proposed approach is suitable for real-time human detection with low computational loads. As far as we know, no paper in the literature used the feasible human space, as in our paper. The outperformance of our human detector system is verified by comparing it with other state-of-the-art object detection-classification algorithms (HOG detector, YOLOv7 and YOLOv7-tiny) under experiments. This paper demonstrates that the accuracy of the proposed human detector system is comparable to other state-of-the-art algorithms, while outperforming in computational speed. Our experiments show that in environments with no humans, the proposed human detector runs 62 times faster than YOLOv7 method, while showing comparable accuracy.

Background: Since AI algorithms can analyze patient data, medical records, and imaging results to suggest treatment plans and predict outcomes, they have the potential to support pathologists and clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathologies, just like every other area of life in which it is being used. The goal of the current study was to examine all of the trends being investigated in the area of oral and maxillofacial pathology where AI has been possibly involved in helping practitioners., Methods: We started by defining the important terms in our investigation's subject matter. Following that, relevant databases like PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched using keywords and synonyms for each concept, such as "machine learning," "diagnosis," "treatment planning," "image analysis," "predictive modelling," and "patient monitoring." For more papers and sources, Google Scholar was also used., Results: The majority of the 9 studies that were chosen were on how AI can be utilized to diagnose malignant tumors of the oral cavity. AI was especially helpful in creating prediction models that aided pathologists and clinicians in foreseeing the development of oral and maxillofacial pathology in specific patients. Additionally, predictive models accurately identified patients who have a high risk of developing oral cancer as well as the likelihood of the disease returning after treatment., Conclusions: In the field of oral and maxillofacial pathology, AI has the potential to enhance diagnostic precision, personalize care, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Facial palsy evaluation (FPE) aims to assess facial palsy severity of patients, which plays a vital role in facial functional treatment and rehabilitation. The traditional manners of FPE are based on subjective judgment by clinicians, which may ultimately depend on individual experience. Compared with subjective and manual evaluation, objective and automated evaluation using artificial intelligence (AI) has shown great promise in improving traditional manners and recently received significant attention. The motivation of this survey paper is mainly to provide a systemic review that would guide researchers in conducting their future research work and thus make automatic FPE applicable in real-life situations. In this survey, we comprehensively review the state-of-the-art development of AI-based FPE. First, we summarize the general pipeline of FPE systems with the related background introduction. Following this pipeline, we introduce the existing public databases and give the widely used objective evaluation metrics of FPE. In addition, the preprocessing methods in FPE are described. Then, we provide an overview of selected key publications from 2008 and summarize the state-of-the-art methods of FPE that are designed based on AI techniques. Finally, we extensively discuss the current research challenges faced by FPE and provide insights about potential future directions for advancing state-of-the-art research in this field.

Background: Large language models, such as ChatGPT, are capable of generating grammatically perfect and human-like text content, and a large number of ChatGPT-generated texts have appeared on the internet. However, medical texts, such as clinical notes and diagnoses, require rigorous validation, and erroneous medical content generated by ChatGPT could potentially lead to disinformation that poses significant harm to health care and the general public., Objective: This study is among the first on responsible artificial intelligence-generated content in medicine. We focus on analyzing the differences between medical texts written by human experts and those generated by ChatGPT and designing machine learning workflows to effectively detect and differentiate medical texts generated by ChatGPT., Methods: We first constructed a suite of data sets containing medical texts written by human experts and generated by ChatGPT. We analyzed the linguistic features of these 2 types of content and uncovered differences in vocabulary, parts-of-speech, dependency, sentiment, perplexity, and other aspects. Finally, we designed and implemented machine learning methods to detect medical text generated by ChatGPT. The data and code used in this paper are published on GitHub., Results: Medical texts written by humans were more concrete, more diverse, and typically contained more useful information, while medical texts generated by ChatGPT paid more attention to fluency and logic and usually expressed general terminologies rather than effective information specific to the context of the problem. A bidirectional encoder representations from transformers-based model effectively detected medical texts generated by ChatGPT, and the F 1 score exceeded 95%., Conclusions: Although text generated by ChatGPT is grammatically perfect and human-like, the linguistic characteristics of generated medical texts were different from those written by human experts. Medical text generated by ChatGPT could be effectively detected by the proposed machine learning algorithms. Introduction: Due to the inefficiency and high cost of the current healthcare supply chain mode, in order to adapt to the great changes in the global economy and public health, it is urgent to choose an effective mode for sustainable development of healthcare supply chain. The aim of this paper is to use artificial intelligence systems to make intelligent decisions for healthcare supply chain mode selection., Methods: Firstly, according to the economic benefits, social benefits and environmental benefits of healthcare supply chain, this paper identifies different healthcare supply chain modes in combination with artificial intelligence technology. Secondly, this paper presents the intelligent choice optimization method of healthcare supply chain mode based on deep reinforcement learning algorithm. Finally, the effect of artificial intelligence in healthcare supply chain mode selection is verified by simulation experiment., Results and Discussion: The experimental results show that healthcare supply chain mode selected by artificial intelligence is basically consistent with the target mode, while healthcare supply chain mode selected by the basic selection method, BP neural network method and big data method is different from the target mode, which indicates that AI has more advantages in the selection of medical supply chain mode. Therefore, we recommend the application of artificial intelligence to healthcare supply chain management. This study not only makes up for the ineffective problems of existing methods, but also makes up for the gaps in the application of AI technology in the field of healthcare supply chain. Introduction: The use of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly machine learning and predictive analytics, has shown great promise in health care. Despite its strong potential, there has been limited use in health care settings. In this systematic review, we aim to determine the main barriers to successful implementation of AI in healthcare and discuss potential ways to overcome these challenges., Methods: We conducted a literature search in PubMed (1/1/2001-1/1/2023). The search was restricted to publications in the English language, and human study subjects. We excluded articles that did not discuss AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and barriers to the use of these techniques in health care. Using grounded theory methodology, we abstracted concepts to identify major barriers to AI use in medicine., Results: We identified a total of 2,382 articles. After reviewing the 306 included papers, we developed 19 major themes, which we categorized into three levels: the Technical/Algorithm, Stakeholder, and Social levels (TASS). These themes included: Lack of Explainability, Need for Validation Protocols, Need for Standards for Interoperability, Need for Reporting Guidelines, Need for Standardization of Performance Metrics, Lack of Plan for Updating Algorithm, Job Loss, Skills Loss, Workflow Challenges, Loss of Patient Autonomy and Consent, Disturbing the Patient-Clinician Relationship, Lack of Trust in AI, Logistical Challenges, Lack of strategic plan, Lack of Cost-effectiveness Analysis and Proof of Efficacy, Privacy, Liability, Bias and Social Justice, and Education., Conclusion: We identified 19 major barriers to the use of AI in healthcare and categorized them into three levels: the Technical/Algorithm, Stakeholder, and Social levels (TASS). Artificial intelligence technologies were developed to assist authors in bettering the organization and caliber of their published papers, which are both growing in quantity and sophistication. Even though the usage of artificial intelligence tools in particular ChatGPT's natural language processing systems has been shown to be beneficial in research, there are still concerns about accuracy, responsibility, and transparency when it comes to the norms regarding authorship credit and contributions. Genomic algorithms quickly examine large amounts of genetic data to identify potential disease-causing mutations. By analyzing millions of medications for potential therapeutic benefits, they can quickly and relatively economically find novel approaches to treatment. Researchers from several fields can collaborate on difficult tasks with the assistance of nonhuman writers, promoting interdisciplinary research. Sadly, there are a number of significant disadvantages associated with employing nonhuman authors, including the potential for algorithmic prejudice. Biased data may be reinforced by the algorithm since machine learning algorithms can only be as objective as the data they are trained on. It is overdue that scholars bring forth basic moral concerns in the fight against algorithmic prejudice. Overall, even if the use of nonhuman authors has the potential to significantly improve scientific research, it is crucial for scientists to be aware of these drawbacks and take precautions to avoid bias and limits. Introduction: Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has been developed significantly in recent years. The fairness of medical AI is of great concern due to its direct relation to human life and health. This review aims to analyze the existing research literature on fairness in medical AI from the perspectives of computer science, medical science, and social science (including law and ethics). The objective of the review is to examine the similarities and differences in the understanding of fairness, explore influencing factors, and investigate potential measures to implement fairness in medical AI across English and Chinese literature., Methods: This study employed a scoping review methodology and selected the following databases: Web of Science, MEDLINE, Pubmed, OVID, CNKI, WANFANG Data, etc., for the fairness issues in medical AI through February 2023. The search was conducted using various keywords such as "artificial intelligence," "machine learning," "medical," "algorithm," "fairness," "decision-making," and "bias." The collected data were charted, synthesized, and subjected to descriptive and thematic analysis., Results: After reviewing 468 English papers and 356 Chinese papers, 53 and 42 were included in the final analysis. Our results show the three different disciplines all show significant differences in the research on the core issues. Data is the foundation that affects medical AI fairness in addition to algorithmic bias and human bias. Legal, ethical, and technological measures all promote the implementation of medical AI fairness., Conclusions: Our review indicates a consensus regarding the importance of data fairness as the foundation for achieving fairness in medical AI across multidisciplinary perspectives. However, there are substantial discrepancies in core aspects such as the concept, influencing factors, and implementation measures of fairness in medical AI. Over the past decade, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) have become increasingly prevalent in the medical field. In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for regulating AI algorithms as "medical devices" to ensure patient safety. However, recent work has shown that the FDA approval process may be deficient. In this study, we evaluate the evidence supporting FDA-approved neuroalgorithms, the subset of machine learning algorithms with applications in the central nervous system (CNS), through a systematic review of the primary literature. Articles covering the 53 FDA-approved algorithms with applications in the CNS published in PubMed, EMBASE, Google Scholar and Scopus between database inception and January 25, 2022 were queried. Initial searches identified 1505 studies, of which 92 articles met the criteria for extraction and inclusion. Studies were identified for 26 of the 53 neuroalgorithms, of which 10 algorithms had only a single peer-reviewed publication. Performance metrics were available for 15 algorithms, external validation studies were available for 24 algorithms, and studies exploring the use of algorithms in clinical practice were available for 7 algorithms. Papers studying the clinical utility of these algorithms focused on three domains: workflow efficiency, cost savings, and clinical outcomes. Our analysis suggests that there is a meaningful gap between the FDA approval of machine learning algorithms and their clinical utilization. There appears to be room for process improvement by implementation of the following recommendations: the provision of compelling evidence that algorithms perform as intended, mandating minimum sample sizes, reporting of a predefined set of performance metrics for all algorithms and clinical application of algorithms prior to widespread use. Objective: ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is an artificial intelligence language tool developed by OpenAI that utilises machine learning algorithms to generate text that closely mimics human language. It has recently taken the internet by storm. There have been several concerns regarding the accuracy of documents it generates. This study compares the accuracy and quality of several ChatGPT-generated academic articles with those written by human authors., Material and Methods: We performed a study to assess the accuracy of ChatGPT-generated radiology articles by comparing them with the published or written, and under review articles. These were independently analysed by two fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiologists and graded from 1 to 5 (1 being bad and inaccurate to 5 being excellent and accurate)., Results: In total, 4 of the 5 articles written by ChatGPT were significantly inaccurate with fictitious references. One of the papers was well written, with a good introduction and discussion; however, all references were fictitious., Conclusion: ChatGPT is able to generate coherent research articles, which on initial review may closely resemble authentic articles published by academic researchers. However, all of the articles we assessed were factually inaccurate and had fictitious references. In this paper, the authors investigate the possibility of applying artificial intelligence algorithms to the outputs of a low-cost Kalman filter-based navigation solution in order to achieve performance similar to that of high-end MEMS inertial sensors. To further improve the results of the prototype and simultaneously lighten filter requirements, different AI models are compared in this paper to determine their performance in terms of complexity and accuracy. By overcoming some known limitations (e.g., sensitivity on the dimension of input data from inertial sensors) and starting from Kalman filter applications (whose raw noise parameter estimates were obtained from a simple analysis of sensor specifications), such a solution presents an intermediate behavior compared to the current state of the art. It allows the exploitation of the power of AI models. Different Neural Network models have been taken into account and compared in terms of measurement accuracy and a number of model parameters; in particular, Dense, 1-Dimension Convolutional, and Long Short Term Memory Neural networks. As can be excepted, the higher the NN complexity, the higher the measurement accuracy; the models' performance has been assessed by means of the root-mean-square error ( RMSE ) between the target and predicted values of all the navigation parameters.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) based diagnosis systems have emerged as powerful tools to reform traditional medical care. Each clinician now wants to have his own intelligent diagnostic partner to expand the range of services he can provide. However, the implementation of intelligent decision support systems based on clinical note has been hindered by the lack of extensibility of end-to-end AI diagnosis algorithms. When reading a clinical note, expert clinicians make inferences with relevant medical knowledge, which serve as prompts for making accurate diagnoses. Therefore, external medical knowledge is commonly employed as an augmentation for medical text classification tasks. Existing methods, however, cannot integrate knowledge from various knowledge sources as prompts nor can fully utilize explicit and implicit knowledge. To address these issues, we propose a Medical Knowledge-enhanced Prompt Learning (MedKPL) diagnostic framework for transferable clinical note classification. Firstly, to overcome the heterogeneity of knowledge sources, such as knowledge graphs or medical QA databases, MedKPL uniform the knowledge relevant to the disease into text sequences of fixed format. Then, MedKPL integrates medical knowledge into the prompt designed for context representation. Therefore, MedKPL can integrate knowledge into the models to enhance diagnostic performance and effectively transfer to new diseases by using relevant disease knowledge. The results of our experiments on two medical datasets demonstrate that our method yields superior medical text classification results and performs better in cross-departmental transfer tasks under few-shot or even zero-shot settings.
