The objective of this study was to evaluate the production and quality of 'Delite' blueberry fruit under different pruning times, during the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 production cycles, in the Pelotas region, RS, Brazil. The experimental design was in randomized blocks, in a 2 x 3 factorial scheme, the factors being: summer pruning (with summer pruning x without summer pruning) and winter pruning times (early x conventional x late), with four replications and one plant per replication. The following parameters were evaluated: soluble solids content, pH, titratable acidity, number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit length, production per plant, yield and color. 'Delite' blueberry plants that were not pruned in the summer showed the highest production per plant, regardless of the time of winter pruning. In addition, the early and late winter pruning periods provide greater fruit weight for 'Delite' blueberries under the conditions of the experiment and different pruning methods do not influence the soluble solids, pH and ohue content of the fruit. It can therefore be concluded that 'Delite' blueberry plants that were not pruned in the summer and pruned between June and August in the winter showed higher fruit production and quality. The spotted wing Drosophila has significant economy relevance due to attacking thin epicarp fruits, which have high commercial value, mainly for "in natura" consumption. The Brazilian pest reports to date are distributed in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Goiás, and Minas Gerais. Our study aimed to record the enlargement of occurrence area of this species in the Serrana region of Santa Catarina. For this, traps PET type baited with apple cider vinegar in an organic strawberry crop in a semi-hydroponic system in the municipality Frei Rogério. Traps monitored 8.600 plants for ten days, and the collected material was evaluated with a stereoscopic microscope. Several insects of Drosophilidae family were collected, of which ninety-eight females and four males of Drosophila suzukii, thus revealing the enlargement of pest presence in the Serrana region of Santa Catarina. The use of substrates and environments is an important factor to be considered in determining the quality of germination and seedling growing of species of physalis. Given the above, the objective with this study was to evaluate the germination and early crowing of two non-conventional species of physalis, subjected to different environments and substrates. Were conducted two simultaneous experiments in the period from March to May / 2014 in Unioeste, PR. The experimental design used in the first experiment was a randomized, 2x3 factorial (2 physalis species: Physalis minima, Physalis ixocarpa x 3 environments: protect environment with plastic cover of 150 µm, greenhouse with 50% of shading and full sun) blocks containing 3 replicates and 50 seeds per experimental plot. The design of the second experiment was randomized, 2x4 factorial (2 physalis species: Physalis minima, Physalis ixocarpa x 4 substrates: expanded vermiculite of medium texture + latossol, Húmus Fértil® + latossol, washed sand of fine texture + latossol and Humus Fértil® + expanded vermiculite of medium texture, in proportion 1:1 v:v) blocks containing three replicates of 32 seeds per experimental plot. Was monitored by 22 days the experiments to obtain the emergence speed index. 60 days after the sowing was evaluated seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, fresh and dry biomass of seedlings. We conclude that, agricultural greenhouse and greenhouse of shade net providing emergence speed index of Physalis minima and Physalis Ixocarpa without distinction between these environments. Seedlings of P. ixocarpa should be produced in agricultural greenhouse, using as substrate mix of Humus fértil® commercial substrate + expanded vermiculite or latosol + vermiculite. Seedlings of P. minima must be produced in a mixture of Humus Fértil® + vermiculite under agricultural greenhouse with or under shade net. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The environment can be a limiting factor for development of Physalis species seedlings. Thus, the aim of this present study was to evaluate the initial development of Physalis species when subjected to cultivation environments. The experimental design was a randomized block design, factorial 3 x 3 (three Physalis species being Physalis peruviana, P. angulata and P. pubescens x three environments, greenhouse GRE, plastic cover with 150 micron; shading - PLS, with 75% permeability and light - SHD, full sun, in a fully open - FOP), with four repetitions, conducted between February and May/2012, at the Station of Horticulture and Biological Control “Mário César Lopes”, University of Paraná State, Brazil. During the experiment, the emergence speed rate of seedlings was monitored in the initial 30 days. At 76 days after the sowing, leaf area, dry biomass of leaves, stems and roots, as well as the number leaves, plant height and stem diameter were evaluated. The SHD environment provides higher percentage of emergence of Physalis species seedlings studied. GRE and SHD environments were similar to the early Physalis development and can be used in the production of these species seedlings. The research was conducted in order to evaluate the quality of blackberries produced at different times in humid temperate conditions. The evaluation was carried out in orchard of blackberry (Rubus sp.) cv. Brazos. The determination of the quality of the fruit was performed at different times due to the fact the harvest has begun in June, outside the normal harvest time. In order to compare the quality of harvested fruits, the scheme in split plot was adopted, with the evaluation period from June to December. In June and July the fruits were larger sizes. In the months with the highest incidence of sunlight and lower rainfall contributed to the production of better quality fruit. The levels of anthocyanins were higher in September, time that sunlight in place of cultivation began to increase. Blackberries harvested outside the normal harvest season had better quality. The quality of blackberries was best when harvested in the dry season, with low rainfall and high solar radiation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The exotic fruit cultivation occupies an important place within the horticulture, among the many species with potential for exploitation, the hops culture stands out for presenting excellent nutritional characteristics, such as antioxidant properties, the presence of vitamin A and C, protein, pepsin and minerals. The hops plant belongs to the Solanaceae family and occurs naturally in the Andean regions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of increasing doses of chicken manure in hops grown under organic production system. The experiment was installed in the experimental area FAFICH in Goiatuba-GO municipality in the period november 2014 to march 2015. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with four treatments and five repetitions. The treatments were: 0.0; 0.72; 2.17 and 6.52 kg plant-1 of manure and each treatment was split into three equal doses. The plants were evaluated during the stages of growth, and the variables: plant height (cm); stem diameter (cm); length and width of sheet 3 (cm); early flowering (anthesis) and chlorophyll content. It was observed that the DAT 180 increased poultry manure doses provided significant growth in plants, obtaining the best results in dosage (6.09 kg pl-1) where the plant height reached variable 32.35 cm. The practice of winter pruning, held in temperate fruit, has great influence on the development and production of these crops. Changes in pruning system may result in significant changes in the time of harvest, yield and fruit quality.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of time and intensity of pruning in the development and production of blackberry cv. Xavante in organic production system. The experiment was conducted during the crop year 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 in the experimental orchard of the State University of Centro-Oeste (Unicentro)Guarapuava - PR. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with five replications in a 2x2 factorial design, with two pruning times: early and late, and two intensities of pruning side branches: short and long, a total of four treatments. The variables analyzed were: budding percentage (%), percentage of flowering (%), average fruit weight (g), number of fruits, total soluble solids (°brix), yield (kg), estimated yield (kg ha-1) and early yield (kg plant-1 and %). The time and intensity of pruning did not influence the average fruit weight and soluble solids. Early pruning can be a good strategy to obtain higher yields in early harvest. The Physalis peruviana L. is an exotic fruit that belongs to the Solanaceae family with recent production in Brazil. This is presented as an alternative production with nutritional potential and economic value. The cape gooseberry plant has a high added value that can be used from its root to the fruit itself. The roots and leaves are rich in medicinal properties that are used in pharmacology. The fruit is sweet and have good content of vitamins A, C, iron, phosphorus and fiber, often used in making jellies, jams, juices and ice creams. To improve the plant canopy, but also contribute to the quality and appearance of the fruit produced some cultural practices such as staking, training systems, pruning and thinning are used.
