The Markov models and stochastic Petri nets have demonstrated their capabilities for the concrete analysis of reliability in many industrial processes. However, they suffer from combinatorial explosion when the number of states increases analytically with the complexity of dynamic systems and their components. This problem is reflected in the slowness of these models to reach convergence. Continuous petri nets are a solution to accelerate this convergence. Fluidification is a way to go from stochastic to continuous, it proved to be a practical solution to reach an average asymptotic behavior between stochastic and continuous Petri nets. However, the average asymptotic marking of the two Petri net models, stochastic and continuous, is often different, even with the same structure and the same initial marking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
