This study aimed to assess the research growth, collaboration trends, and performance of the author, organization, and countries and to identify the trending research topics on gender equality and women empowerment research in BRICS countries. This study employed Scientometric tools to evaluate the research publications for ten years (2012- 2021). A total of 1,558 bibliographic records were downloaded from the Scopus and analyzed using Microsoft Excel and Tableau statistical tools. Moreover, the network visualization and scientific mapping analysis was done using the open-source data visualization tools VOSviewer, and Biblioshiny. It was found that BRICS countries were actively involved in research on gender equality and women's empowerment in the last decade as the publication was growing by 20.45% Annual Growth Rate (AGR) and research outputs shared 16.18% of global publications. India contributed the most publications (n=683) and received the highest citations (TC=2,798), while South Africa was the most significant collaborator with different countries across the globe. The study also identified the most prolific authors, organizations, and journals based on the number of scientific publications and citations. It is indispensable to highlight that most prolific authors and organizations were affiliated with South Africa. In recent years research has been trending in topics related to women's education, women empowerment, entrepreneurship, gender equality, and sustainability. Furthermore, the study identified the most influential articles based on the citation burst. The findings of this study will benefit contemporary society, the scholarly community and other key stakeholders in the field by providing an understanding of the development and trends of research in the domain. The present study is aimed toward examining the attention received by research papers through social and electronic media in business research. In recent years, altmetrics has emerged as a complementary measure of the impact of research works besides citation analysis and bibliometrics. Using the altmetric attention score (AAS) the paper is the first research of its kind to shed light on the characteristics of 100 papers receiving the highest online attention. Various predictors of online engagement with articles in business research journals having an impact factor greater than 6 are discussed. Data was collected from the Dimensions.ai database and analyzed using R statistical software. It is found that the Journal of Business Ethics contributed maximum papers with the highest AAS followed by the Journal of Business Research. Using the Kruskal-Wallis rank-sum test it was determined that AAS in business research is dependent upon article type, topics, and journal of publication. The study presents an overview of global research output on the Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine from 1989–2021 using various scientometric indicators. The objective is to inform and present a comprehensive analysis of BCG vaccine research to health practitioners, researchers, and librarians that has not been explored from the perspective of scientometrics. Using a search strategy, data was collected from the Web of Science database and 2416 original articles were identified. Computed analysis of the literature was done through the software bibloshiny (a web interface for bibliometrix analysis) in the R statistical programming environment. The study examined the pattern of growth of research output, prolific authors, institutions, key journals, and countries involved in BCG vaccine research. Findings reveal an increase in research output on BCG vaccine from 2008 onwards. The highest number of articles 163 were published in 2016. Key journals, authors, and institutions working in the field of BCG vaccine research have been identified. A Sankey diagram has been used to depict the evolution of BCG vaccine research. This article reports the evolution of BCG vaccine research in terms of annual growth of publications, relevant authors, institutions, countries, and the evolution of author keywords and the growth of BCG vaccine research areas. The COVID‐19 pandemic has posed significant challenges for health science librarians. During this pandemic, librarians are playing an active role by increasing the public's awareness of the virus, maintaining document delivery services and providing research support. This paper uses the method of desktop analysis of the websites of selected library associations to identify the responses of health science librarians to the COVID‐19 pandemic. This study presents a significant advancement in the realm of information science by exploring and validating a semiotic scale tailored for library software interfaces. Employing a design‐based approach, the investigation identifies 14 crucial semiotic elements specific to library software interfaces, forming the cornerstone of its theoretical framework. The process of developing the semiotic scale involves creating user personas, conducting a comprehensive semiotic analysis, and engaging in productive collaboration with experts. Through meticulous evaluation and refinement, achieved by expert assessments and user testing, the scale offers actionable insights for guiding interface enhancement. The study's findings encompass a breadth of revelations, including user needs, user personas, outcomes of semiotic analysis, criteria development, and evaluation results across a diverse range of library software interfaces. Serving as a valuable tool for interface designers, the semiotic scale facilitates the alignment of design choices with user preferences and requirements. Background: The emergence of the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022 has garnered substantial attention across diverse disciplines. Despite widespread adoption in various sectors, the exploration of its application in libraries, especially within the medical domain, remains limited. Aims/Objectives: Many areas of interest remain unexplored like ChatGPT in medical libraries and this review aims to synthesise what is currently known about it to identify gaps and stimulate further research. Methods: Employing Cooper's integrative review method, this study involves a comprehensive analysis of existing literature on ChatGPT and its potential implementations within library contexts. Results: A systematic literature search across various databases yielded 166 papers, with 30 excluded for irrelevance. After abstract reviews and methodological assessments, 136 articles were selected. Critical Appraisal Skills Programme qualitative checklist further narrowed down to 29 papers, forming the basis for the present study. The literature analysis reveals diverse applications of ChatGPT in medical libraries, including aiding users in finding relevant medical information, answering queries, providing recommendations and facilitating access to resources. Potential challenges and ethical considerations associated with ChatGPT in this context are also highlighted. Conclusion: Positioned as a review, our study elucidates the applications of ChatGPT in medical libraries and discusses relevant considerations. The integration of ChatGPT into medical library services holds promise for enhancing information retrieval and user experience, benefiting library users and the broader medical community. Purpose This paper aims to attempt to study the adoption of social media technologies in the process of recruitment and selection process of library professionals and faculty members in India.Design/methodology/approach Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model was used for the study. Two additional constructs, namely, impact of the position of recruiters and level of education were added for the study. Data were collected from 230 recruiters for the study.Findings Results of the study highlighted that the hypotheses of UTAUT model were supported. The constructs were performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence as well as facilitating conditions that triggered the behavioral intention of recruiters to adopt social media.Originality/value Till date, no any study has been carried out on the application of social media in the process of recruitment of faculty members and library professionals. Purpose The paper aims to examine the constructs laid down by the information technology (IT) adoption theories to the cloud computing phenomena in conjunction with academic libraries of India to determine the factors responsible for the adoption of cloud computing.Design/methodology/approach Keeping the objectives into consideration, descriptive survey and constructive research method were used in the study. Library professionals engaged in the selected 28 central universities of India were chosen to participate in this study. To find the core drivers responsible for the adoption of cloud computing in academic libraries, constructs were taken from ten IT adoption theories.Findings The findings validate the fact that perceived ease of use, usefulness and ubiquitous availability of the enabling technology are strong drivers of the adoption of cloud computing technology in the libraries. Also, attitude is significantly correlated with the behavioral intention to adopt cloud computing services. High level of correlation was obtained between the cloud computing-perceived attributes and the librarian’s intention to use cloud computing technology. However, security risk is the biggest issue that has been affecting the behavioral intentions.Originality/value The study is a self-conscious attempt to fill the void and determine factors for the adoption of cloud computing in libraries. The present study is an attempt towards identification, systematization and critical examination of the research literature on the concepts of cloud computing prevalent among the Library and Information professionals. The study is based on an exhaustive review of the published literature in the field of cloud computing and library and information science. For the review, a conceptual framework was developed in order to demarcate the flow of available information. Available strategies, models, frameworks and existing practises of adoption of cloud computing in library practises have been exclusively dealt. Technology is a mobile and integral part of many work places, and computers and other information and communication technology have made many users' work life easier, but technology can also contribute to problems in the cognitive work environment and, over time, create technostress. Much previous research on technostress has focused on the use of digital technology and its effects, measured by questionnaires. This paper applies a distributed cognition perspective to human-technology interaction, investigated through Limesurvey to examine technostress, its effects and measures taken to avoid it among librarians at university libraries in Delhi. About 200 library professionals participated in the study. Data was subjected to correlation and regression analysis analysed through Quickcals (Graphpad software. Analysis reveals high that there exists a high level of technostress among the library professionals engaged in Delhi libraries. In the past few years, cloud computing has evolved to be a major trend for all levels of computer users and organizations. This article compares the suitability of cloud computing software for a library setting among some available cloud service providers. The paper first introduces cloud computing with respect to its definition, types, and services. The focus is then shifted to what cloud computing might mean to libraries. The main purpose of this paper is to explore the current status of public libraries of Varanasi. A structured questionnaire was designed and personally distributed to 100 respondents over a period of seven months for the study. Responses present a dismal outlook of the libraries. Financial deficit and lack of computers, infrastructure and staff have stagnated the development of these libraries. These libraries continue to stand the same way as they stood 60 years before. The paper analyses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to examine the librarians' behavioural intentions to use cloud computing applications. A questionnaire was developed using three TAM instruments: attitude, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness to measure the librarian's behavioural intentions of cloud computing applications use. Four hundred and seven library professionals completed the survey that measured their responses on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and the behavioural intentions on the use of cloud computing applications. Results show that librarians' perceived ease of use had significant impact on the attitude towards use. Further, perceived ease of use severely influenced the perceived usefulness of the cloud computing applications. The main purpose of this paper is to explore how librarians in Indian Central Universities are using Cloud Computing tools into their daily library services and works. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the research and citation impact of open access (OA) journals versus non-OA journals being published in the spectrum of library and information science (LIS) across the world and to further ascertain whether OA journals have greater citation counts than subscription-based journals in LIS discipline. Design/methodology/approach: A total of 116 LIS journals (58 OA and 58 non-OA) were chosen from Scimago website. After selecting the journals, Publish or Perish software program was used to retrieve the publications and their corresponding academic citations by using International Standard Serial Number of journals from Google Scholar for the period of 2011–2018. The non-parametric Mann–Whitney U-test was applied on various research and citation indicators, namely, citation count, citations per author, citations per paper; g-index, h-index, hI norm and hI annual through SPSS. Findings: Findings of the study demonstrate that non-OA journals in LIS have a significant citation advantage over OA journals. Moreover, Mann–Whitney U-test analysis rejected all the eight null hypotheses and reveals that non-OA journals in LIS discipline have greater citation counts, citations per author, citations per paper; g-index, h-index, hI norm and hI annual than OA journals. Originality/value: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first study that embarks upon a whole-scale investigation of citation impact of OA and non-OA journals in LIS, which has implications for both research and practice. This study would serve as a reference guide to all involved in scholarly communication activities including academic communities, librarians, research funders, publishers and policymakers for publishing research work, grant funding, designing policies and subscriptions. This article aims to identify the factors prevalent among health science librarians toward vaccine hesitancy. With the development of COVID-19 vaccines in 2021, numerous efforts are being taken to vaccinate people to control the spread of coronavirus. Recent research has shown a high level of vaccine hesitancy among various groups in various fields but no study has been conducted to explore the factors responsible for vaccine hesitancy among library professionals. A cross-sectional online survey of Indian health science librarians was conducted. Data was collected through an online questionnaire designed on Google Forms and analyzed using MS-Excel. Descriptive statistics were used in the study. The majority of respondents (77%) showed a high level of vaccine hesitancy due to issues of safety, negative information, and confusion over vaccines. Cloud computing is an interdisciplinary field which has witnessed exponential growth in recent years and there is a need to consolidate the research efforts. This study used citation analysis method to identify most cited papers which have achieved the status of citation classics. It is the first study using Dimensions.ai database to identify classics in cloud computing literature. Using a search strategy data was extracted from Dimensions database from 2010 and 2020. Finally 96 papers were identified as citation classics which were cited with at least 400 citations. Data was finally analyzed through Biblioshiny package of R Studio. It was found that Future Generation Computer Systems, IEEE Communication Survey and Tutorials, IEEE Transaction on Parallel and Distributed Systems, Computer and IEEE Access are the key journals contributing to classics. The study aims at determining the capability of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in mapping library performance indicators. Six categories were identified as the potential library performance indicators in the study: per capita space, per capita seat, per capita staff, collection flow, circulation per capita, and per capita costs of providing printed sources. A comprehensive checklist was designed for data collection. The collected data were analysed utilizing ArcGIS version 10.7. Correlations between the six identified library performance indicators were validated in the study. ArcGIS software has the capability to display performance indicators in the form of clear images to conduct suitable analysis. Displaying performance indicators in the form of graphs and tables without using GIS makes data analysis and presentation difficult and it lacks precision and generalization. Maps incorporating performance indicator analysis using GIS, function as blueprints for displaying information on maps. The basic objective of the study is to determine the co-authorship network of cardiology research in Iran. Scientometric approach was used to conduct the study. In the study, in addition to drawing the co-authorship network of cardiovascular articles of Iran indexed in WoS database, the researcher analysed the main cores of co-authorship network. Data was analysed by descriptive and analytical method. The centrality index which reflects the status of specific nodes in the network has also been determined. There were 2631 Iranian authors who published 1071 articles in cardiology. Density of 0.002 represents the continuity of the network and clustering coefficient of 0.51 indicates the willingness of the authors for research cooperation. Co-authorship network of cardiovascular area has a very large core. Tehran University of Medical Sciences had the highest degree and closeness centralities followed by most prolific and influential authors and the highest betweenness centrality was of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. It is essential to note that people with more papers and citations, are not necessarily the central and influential members of the co-authorship network. Those with a small number of articles and citations can be a member of the key group of the co-authorship network and they control the flow and dissemination of information. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
