A mounting body of evidences suggests that patients with chronic heart failure (HF) frequently experience cognitive impairments, but the neuroanatomical mechanism underlying these impairments remains elusive. In this retrospective study, 49 chronic HF patients and 49 healthy controls (HCs) underwent brain structural MRI scans and cognitive assessments. Cortical morphology index (cortical thickness, complexity, sulcal depth and gyrification) were evaluated. Correlations between cortical morphology and cognitive scores and clinical variables were explored. Logistic regression analysis was employed to identify risk factors for predicting 3‐year major adverse cardiovascular events. Compared with HCs, patients with chronic HF exhibited decreased cognitive scores (p < .001) and decreased cortical thickness, sulcal depth and gyrification in brain regions involved cognition, sensorimotor, autonomic nervous system (family‐wise error correction, all p values <.05). Notably, HF duration and New York Heart Association (NYHA) demonstrated negative correlations with abnormal cortex morphology, particularly HF duration and thickness in left precentral gyrus (r = −.387, p = .006). Cortical morphology characteristics exhibited positive associations with global cognition, particularly cortical thickness in left pars opercularis (r = .476, p < .001). NYHA class is an independent risk factor for adverse outcome (p = .001). The observed correlation between abnormal cortical morphology and global cognition suggested that cortical morphology may serve as a promising imaging biomarker and provide insights into neuroanatomical underpinnings of cognitive impairment in patients with chronic HF. In this paper, we consider the problem of asynchronous estimation in the presence of packet losses for the randomly sampling nonlinear system. Packet losses occur at the control input and at the measurement side. Firstly, the synchronization of the asynchronous sampling system is realized by weighting the state of the adjacent state update points. Secondly, the projection theorem is used to estimate the system state at the sampling time. Due to modeling errors and unmodeled dynamics, obtaining an accurate dynamic model is challenging. Therefore, observation inference based on interpolation techniques is proposed to solve the asynchronous estimation problem. Furthermore, the algorithm is extended to multi-sensor systems to obtain a distributed fusion estimator. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the algorithm. The rolling bearing fault signals are accompanied with the specific periodic impulse components in case of fault. Due to the background noise, the periodic impulse component is extremely weak and difficult to be extracted. The periodic segment matrix (PSM) has excellent singular value aggregation property and can accurately separate the periodic impulse components from the signal. Based on this, a symplectic period mode decomposition (SPMD) method is proposed. Firstly, the singular value squared difference ratio (SVSDR) spectrum is defined, and the embedded dimension of PSM is determined. Then, the symplectic geometry component matrix is obtained by symplectic geometry similarity transformation, and the first symplectic geometry period component (SPC) is obtained by periodic impact intensity (PII). Finally, the spectral L2/L1 norm (SNL2/L1) index is used as the termination condition, and the iterative decomposition is terminated when the SNL2/L1 of the residual signal decreases. The emulation and experimental signals results indicate that the SPMD method can extract periodic impulse components accurately and is an effective rolling bearing fault diagnosis method. Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) is considered a central affective factor influencing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. This study thus developed an online simulation game to create a virtually situated learning environment for reducing EFL primary school students' FLA levels and improving their English vocabulary learning. A total of 110 fifth graders from four classes participated in this study. Two classes were randomly assigned to the experimental group (N = 57) using the online simulation game, and the other two classes were the control group (N = 53) using onsite instruction. Each participant was then classified as a low, moderate, or high anxiety student based on the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS). This study found that, compared to the onsite instruction, the online simulation game more effectively assisted the low, moderate, and high anxiety students in reducing their FLA. Situated learning in the online simulation game made a connection between English vocabulary learning and the real world explicitly and visibly, which could further promote their English vocabulary learning. In particular, the moderate and high anxiety students' English vocabulary learning was significantly improved after the online simulation game. These results suggest that an online simulation game can create a situated learning environment that helps reduce EFL students' FLA and subsequently facilitate their English vocabulary learning. We performed uncertainty analysis and further numerical studies on the data-enabled physics-informed neural network (DEPINN). The purpose of DEPINN is to accurately and efficiently use a small amount of prior data to solve the neutron diffusion eigenvalue equations based on the physics-informed neural network. However, in practical engineering experiments, these prior data are acquired through different kinds of sensors, which are inevitably polluted by noise. Numerical results of three typical benchmark problems show that the classical DEPINN is not so robust with respect to noise. To improve the noise robustness, we propose an interval loss function to deal with the noisy prior data term; the weight of the noisy prior data term is also set to be noise dependent. Numerical results show that the proposed framework effectively enhances the robustness of DEPINN and improves the efficiency of utilizing the noisy prior data and thus promotes the engineering application of DEPINN. [Display omitted] The development of a strong and tough conductive hydrogel capable of meeting the strict requirements of the electrode of a hydrogel-based triboelectric nanogenerator (H-TENG) remains an enormous challenge. Herein, a robust conductive polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogel is designed via a three-step method: (1) grafting with 3,4-dihydroxy benzaldehyde, (2) metal complexation using ferric chloride (FeCl 3) and (3) salting-out using sodium citrate. The hydrogel contains robust crystalline PVA domains and reversible/high-density non-covalent interactions, such as hydrogen bonding, π–π interactions and Fe3+-catechol complexations. Benefiting from the crystalline domains, the hydrogel can resist external forces to the hydrogel network; meanwhile, the reversible/high-density of non-covalent interactions can impart gradual and persistent energy dissipation during deformation. The hydrogel possesses multiple cross-linked networks, with 6.47 MPa tensile stress, 1000 % strain, 35.24 MJ/m3 toughness and 37.59 kJ/m2 fracture energy. Furthermore, the inter-connected porous hydrogel has an ideal structure for ionic-conducing channels. The hydrogel is assembled into an H-TENG, which can generate open circuit voltage of ∼ 150 V, short-circuit current of ∼ 3.0 μA, with superb damage immunity. Subsequently, road traffic monitoring systems are innovatively developed and demonstrated by using the H-TENG. Faradaic capacitive deionization (FCDI) with attractive ion‐capture capacity, outstanding durability, and potential compatibility in high‐salinity water has been recognized as the robust alternative to address the alarming freshwater scarcity. The further innovation of boosting electrode materials is the indispensable requisite for highly efficient FCDI application. Herein, a low‐crystalline nitrogen‐doped carbon quantum dots modified Mg2+‐pillar preintercalated V3O7 (i.e., NCQDs/Mg‐V3O7) heterostructure is assembled via an ingenious one‐spot hydrothermal avenue, and is investigated as the advanced FCDI electrode for desalination application. Taking advantages of the synergic effect of unique microstructure, improved electronic conductivity, and exceptional structural durability, the NCQDs/Mg‐V3O7 electrode delivers an admirable gravimetric adsorption capacity of 54.32 mg g−1 in a NaCl solution of 1500 mg L−1 and attractive cyclic durability. Further, density functional theory calculations verify the intense interface electron coupling interaction between tri‐components, enabling the significantly promoting Na+ capture capability. The synergy removal mechanism is clarified by ex‐situ X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and in‐situ Raman tests. Additionally, the average removal efficiency of hybrid electrode attains 93.75% in the simulated wastewater comprising the NaCl of 50 mg L−1 and diverse metal nitrates from 10 to 100 mg L−1 for each, certifying the great prospects for practical wastewater treatment. Background: Abusive supervision by the nurse manager significantly influences nurses' withholding voice about patient safety. The role of impression management motivation and speak up-related climate is crucial in understanding their connection. This study aimed to explore the relationship between abusive supervision, impression management motivation, speak up-related climate, and withholding voice about patient safety. Methods: This cross-sectional study employed a convenience sampling method to recruit 419 clinical nurses from Taizhou Hospital, Zhejiang Province, China, between 1 November 2022 and 31 January 2023. The study adhered to the STROBE checklist. Abusive supervision and impression management motivation were assessed using the Chinese versions of the Abusive Supervision Scale and the Impression Management Motivation Scale, respectively. Withholding voice about patient safety and speak up-related climate were identified using the Chinese version of the Speaking Up about Patient Safety Questionnaire. Results: Nurse leaders' abusive supervision (β=0.40, p<0.01) and nurses' impression management motivation (β=0.10, p<0.01) significantly and positively influenced nurses' withholding voice about patient safety. We introduced impression management motivation as a mediating variable, and the effect of abusive supervision on nurses' withholding voice decreased (β from 0.40 to 0.38, p< 0.01). Nurses' speak up-related climate played a moderating role between abusive supervision and impression management motivation (β= 0.24, p<0.05). Conclusions: Abusive supervision by nursing leaders can result in nurses withholding voice about patient safety out of self-protective impression management motives. This phenomenon inhibits nurses' subjective initiative and undermines their proactive involvement in improving patient safety, and hinders the cultivation of a culture encouraging full participation in patient safety, which should warrant significant attention. Background: To predict pathological complete response (pCR) in patients receiving neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy (nICT) for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), we explored the factors that influence pCR after nICT and established a combined nomogram model. Methods: We retrospectively included 164 ESCC patients treated with nICT. The radiomics signature and hematology model were constructed utilizing least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression, and the radiomics score (radScore) and hematology score (hemScore) were determined for each patient. Using the radScore, hemScore, and independent influencing factors obtained through univariate and multivariate analyses, a combined nomogram was established. The consistency and prediction ability of the nomogram were assessed utilizing calibration curve and the area under the receiver operating factor curve (AUC), and the clinical benefits were assessed utilizing decision curve analysis (DCA). Results: We constructed three predictive models.The AUC values of the radiomics signature and hematology model reached 0.874 (95% CI: 0.819–0.928) and 0.772 (95% CI: 0.699–0.845), respectively. Tumor length, cN stage, the radScore, and the hemScore were found to be independent factors influencing pCR according to univariate and multivariate analyses (P < 0.05). A combined nomogram was constructed from these factors, and AUC reached 0.934 (95% CI: 0.896–0.972). DCA demonstrated that the clinical benefits brought by the nomogram for patients across an extensive range were greater than those of other individual models. Conclusions: By combining CT radiomics, hematological factors, and clinicopathological characteristics before treatment, we developed a nomogram model that effectively predicted whether ESCC patients would achieve pCR after nICT, thus identifying patients who are sensitive to nICT and assisting in clinical treatment decision-making. We demonstrate directed translocation of ClO4− anions from cationic to neutral binding site along the synthetized BPym‐OH dye molecule that exhibits coupled excited‐state intramolecular proton‐transfer (ESIPT) and charge‐transfer (CT) reaction (PCCT). The results of steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy together with computer simulation and modeling show that in low polar toluene the excited‐state redistribution of electronic charge enhanced by ESIPT generates the driving force, which is much stronger than by CT reaction itself and provides more informative gigantic shifts of fluorescence spectra signaling on ultrafast ion motion. The associated with ion translocation red‐shifted fluorescence band (at 750 nm, extending to near‐IR region) appears at the time ~83 ps as a result of electrochromic modulation of PCCT reaction. It occurs at substantial delay to PCCT that displayed fluorescence band at 640 nm and risetime of <200 fs. Thus, it becomes possible to visualize the manifestations of light‐triggered ion translocation and of its driving force by fluorescence techniques and to separate them in time and energy domains. Direct numerical simulations of temporally evolving high-enthalpy supersonic turbulent channel flows are conducted at a Mach number of 3.0 and Reynolds number of 4880 under isothermal wall conditions. Air is assumed to behave as a five-species mixture, and chemical non-equilibrium and equilibrium assumptions are adopted to investigate the influence of finite-rate reactions on the turbulent statistics and large-scale structures. The two wall temperatures of 1733.2 and 3500 K are such that the mixture components undergo strong dissociation and recombination reactions along the channel. Investigation shows that the turbulent intensity is weakened and the mean and fluctuating temperatures are smaller when finite-rate reactions are considered. The mean dissociation degree is a quadratic function of the normal position, and its curvature under the chemical non-equilibrium assumption is greater than that under the chemical equilibrium assumption. The fluctuating mass fractions of the generated species seem to decrease slightly in the near-wall region, and their distributions are obviously different from those of the fluctuating velocity and fluctuating temperature. Finite-rate reactions increase the proportion of turbulent kinetic energy production in the skin friction decomposition, especially when the wall temperature is 3500 K. The large-scale structures visualized by the cross correlation between temperature and species mass fraction become stronger in the normal direction. The turbulent Schmidt number and several velocity–temperature correlations, including the recovery enthalpy and strong Reynolds analogy, are insensitive to the chemical reaction rate and wall temperature. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a devastating neurodegenerative disorder that impacts a substantial number of individuals globally. Despite its widespread prevalence, there is currently no cure for AD. It is widely acknowledged that normal synaptic function holds a key role in memory, cognitive abilities, and the interneuronal transfer of information. As AD advances, symptoms including synaptic impairment, decreased synaptic density, and cognitive decline become increasingly noticeable. The importance of glial cells in the formation of synapses, the growth of neurons, brain maturation, and safeguarding the microenvironment of the central nervous system is well recognized. However, during AD progression, overactive glial cells can cause synaptic dysfunction, neuronal death, and abnormal neuroinflammation. Both neuroinflammation and synaptic dysfunction are present in the early stages of AD. Therefore, focusing on the changes in glia-synapse communication could provide insights into the mechanisms behind AD. In this review, we aim to provide a summary of the role of various glial cells, including microglia, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, and oligodendrocyte precursor cells, in regulating synaptic dysfunction. With the field of technology has witnessed rapid advancements, attracting an ever-growing community of researchers dedicated to developing theories and techniques. This paper proposes an innovative ICRM (Intelligent Citation Recommendation Mechanism), designed to automate the process of suggesting the appropriate number of citations for individual brackets within a document. The proposed ICRM comprises three phases: Coarse-grained Weighted Bag of Word (WCBW), Fine-grained SciBERT (FSB) and Citation Adjustment phases. Firstly, the WCBW phase employs TF-IDF to extract keywords from both target and candidate documents, forming vectors that capture word significance along with metadata like authorship, keywords, and titles. It aims to identify relevant papers from a database, serving as initial candidates for each bracket. Secondly, the FSB phase employs the SciBERT model to assess the similarity between candidate documents and the local context around brackets, enhancing the precision of recommendations. It refines this selection by analyzing candidate-document relationships within the proximity of the brackets. Lastly, the Citation Adjustment phase tackles overlapping citations and ensures that recommended citation numbers align with user-defined criteria, resolving issues of imbalance. A versatile strategy of preparing colored polyimide (PI) films is developed by embedding colored monomers on the backbones of colorless substrate polymers. Intrinsically colored PI films of four colors—red, yellow, blue, and purple—are prepared by introducing relative chromophores to the substrate PI that are synthesized from 2,2′‐bis(trifluoromethyl)benzidine (TFMB) and 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride (6FDA)—two widely used monomers for colorless and transparent PI films. In addition, a series of orange and green PI films are prepared by simple mixing of the red, yellow, or blue PIs. The properties of these colored PI films are characterized, exhibiting good mechanical, thermal, and solubility properties, as well as different color and brightness depending on the amounts and types of chromophores. The optical properties of these films are determined by UV–vis spectroscopy and Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage (CIE) Lab. It is demonstrated that the introduction of even small amounts of chromophores can afford spectrally colored films while maintaining the original benign properties of the substrate PIs. The globally expanding doctoral education and the diminishing availability of academic job opportunities have prompted an increasing proportion of PhD graduates to seek employment beyond academia, drawing a growing scholarly interest. However, the existing literature on doctoral career pathways tends to be fragmented and dispersed, given the idiosyncratic individual and educational characteristics of doctorates grappling with the complex structural factors. To depict a comprehensive picture of the diversifying employment trajectories of doctorates across various geographical, disciplinary and sectoral contexts, this study conducts a systematic review, scouring 831 pertinent journal articles from the Web of Science. Following a set of inclusion criteria, 31 papers were ultimately selected to identify the key factors shaping employment trajectories of PhD graduates at structural (national supply and demand), institutional (employers' perceptions) and individual (doctorates' characteristics) levels. Drawing on the boundaryless and value‐based career theories, the authors develop a four‐dimension analytical framework, within which the findings of the 31 papers in East Asian and Western contexts are analysed. Overall, stakeholders in Western systems generally recognise the trend of PhD graduates securing non‐academic employment, whereas East Asian nations appear less receptive to this agenda. Meanwhile, due to their strong emphasis on research skills utilisation and employment stability, PhD graduates in certain economies find it challenging to pursue satisfying and successful careers, warranting increased attention. Building on the findings, we propose a four‐quadrat model in an effort to provide a tool for evaluating the capacity to absorb doctoral workforces of specific systems by categorising the doctoral professions. Highlighting shared patterns observed across various higher education systems and distinct trends prevalent in specific economies, this paper addresses key topics in doctoral education and doctorate employment literature such as labour market conditions, employment outcomes, job satisfaction, skills (mis)matches and sustainable careers. AbstractThis study investigated how a digital game-based learning (DGBL) environment affected low- (LP) and high-proficiency (HP) primary school students’ self-regulated learning strategies and vocabulary development. Data were collected from 62 sixth graders (20 LP and 20 HP students) who learned English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The statistics suggested DGBL benefited both LP and HP students’ self-regulated learning strategies and vocabulary development. DGBL encouraged LP students to develop cognitive, metacognitive, and resource management aspects of self-regulated learning strategies. With self-regulated learning strategies, LP students could benefit more from DGBL than HP students did in vocabulary development, reducing the gaps between LP and HP students. The incidence of ischemic stroke (IS) is rising in tandem with the global aging population. There is an urgent need to delve deeper into the pathological mechanisms and develop new neuroprotective strategies. In the present review, we discuss the latest advancements and research on various nanodrug delivery systems (NDDSs) for targeting microglial polarization in IS treatment. Furthermore, we critically discuss the different strategies. NDDSs have demonstrated exceptional qualities to effectively permeate the blood–brain barrier, aggregate at the site of ischemic injury, and target specific cell types within the brain when appropriately modified. Consequently, NDDSs have considerable potential for reshaping the polarization phenotype of microglia and could be a prospective therapeutic strategy for IS. The treatment of IS remains a challenge. However, this review provides a new perspective on neuro-nanomedicine for IS therapies centered on microglial polarization, thereby inspiring new research ideas and directions. High-dimensional quantum entanglement characterizes the entanglement of quantum systems within a larger Hilbert space, introducing more intricate and complex correlations among the entangled particles' states. The high-dimensional Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state, symbolic of this type of entanglement, is of significant importance in various quantum information processing applications. This study proposes integrating a neutral atom platform with quantum reservoir engineering to generate a high-dimensional GHZ state deterministically. Leveraging the advantages of neutral atoms in a modified unconventional Rydberg pumping mechanism, combined with controlled dissipation, we achieve a three-dimensional GHZ state with a fidelity surpassing 99% through multiple pump and dissipation cycles. This innovative approach paves the way for experimentally feasible, deterministic preparation of high-dimensional GHZ states in Rydberg atom systems, thereby advancing the capabilities of quantum information processing. Thermal transistors have significant potential in thermal management due to their ability to precisely control the heat fluxes. However, the current design has a limited working temperature range and cannot meet the demand for heat control. In this work, we optimize the performance of a thermal transistor based on negative differential thermal resistance using a modified Lorentz gas model, focusing on the effects of gate control and thermal conductance. We find that the control of the gate has an asymmetrical property, and the sufficient control can expand the working region by more than 1.5 times. In addition, the switching and amplifying functions of the thermal transistor are inversely dependent on thermal conductance, and an increase in thermal conductance can lead to a 27 times amplification in heat flux. The synergistic regulation of the two factors results in the optimal performance of a 44% working region and a 33 times amplification in heat flux. These findings refresh the understanding of the performance limits of thermal transistors, promoting efficient thermal management and addressing heat dissipation issues. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cycling is among the healthiest, greenest, and most affordable means of transportation for a better future city, but mobility patterns of cyclists with different income have rarely been studied due to the limitation of data availability. Newly emergent dockless bike-sharing platforms that record detailed trip information provide us a unique opportunity. Attributing to its better usage flexibility and accessibility, dockless bike-sharing is booming over the past few years worldwide and reviving the cycling fashion in cities. In this work, by exploiting massive platform-collected trip records in four diversified Chinese cities, we reveal that individual mobility patterns, including radius of gyration and average travel distance, are similar among the users with different income, indicating that human beings all follow similar physical rules. However, collective mobility patterns, in terms of average range and diversity of visitation, and commuting direction, exhibit different behaviors and spatial patterns across income categories. Hotspot locations that attract a high volume of cycling activities are quite different over groups, and locations with either a lower or higher income level have a relatively low user ratio. Cyclists from lower income groups are inclined to visit less flourishing locations across all four cities, and have a higher fraction to commute toward the city center in larger cities and away from the city center in smaller cities. Middle income groups of cyclists generally have a higher visitation diversity except in Shanghai. Our findings would be helpful on designing better promotion strategies for dockless bike-sharing platforms and toward the transition to a more inclusive and sustainable transportation. OBJECTIVE: To explore the discriminatory diagnostic value of multimodal ultrasound(US) combined with blood cell analysis (BCA) for Granulomatous Lobular Mastitis (GLM) and Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) of the breast. METHODS: A total of 157 breast disease patients were collected and divided into two groups based on postoperative pathological results: the GLM group (57 cases with 57 lesions) and the IDC group (100 cases with 100 lesions). Differences in multimodal ultrasound features and the presence of BCA were compared between the two groups. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to calculate the optimal cutoff values, sensitivity, specificity, 95% confidence interval (CI), and the area under the curve (AUC) for patient age, lesion size, lesion resistive index (RI), and white blood cell (WBC) count in BCA. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, diagnostic accuracy, and AUC were calculated for different diagnostic methods. RESULTS: There were statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) observed between GLM and IDC patients in terms of age, breast pain, the factors in Conventional US (lesion size, RI, nipple delineation, solitary/multiple lesions, margin, liquefaction area, growth direction, microcalcifications, posterior echogenicity and abnormal axillary lymph nodes), the factors in CEUS (contrast agent enhancement intensity, enhancement pattern, enhancement range, and crab-like enhancement) and the factors in BCA (white blood cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes and monocytes). ROC curve analysis results showed that the optimal cutoff values for distinguishing GLM from IDC were 40.5 years for age, 7.15 cm for lesion size, 0.655 for lesion RI, and 10.525*109/L for white blood cells. The diagnostic accuracy of conventional US combined with CEUS (US-CEUS) was the highest (97.45%). The diagnostic performance AUCs for US-CEUS, CEUS, and US were 0.965, 0.921 and 0.832, respectively. This study utilized X-ray computed tomography (CT) technology to analyze the meso-structure of concrete at different replacement rates, using a coal gangue coarse aggregate, after experiencing various freeze–thaw cycles (F-Ts). A predictive model for the degradation of the elastic modulus of Coal Gangue coarse aggregate Concrete (CGC), based on mesoscopic damage, was established to provide an interpretation of the macroscopic mechanical behavior of CGC after F-Ts damage at a mesoscopic scale. It was found that after F-Ts, the compressive strength of concrete, with coal gangue replacement rates of 30%, 60%, and 100%, respectively, decreased by 33.76%, 34.89%, and 42.05% compared with unfrozen specimens. The results indicate that an increase in the coal gangue replacement rate exacerbates the degradation of concrete performance during the F-Ts process. Furthermore, the established predictive formula for elastic modulus degradation closely matches the experimental data, offering a reliable theoretical basis for the durability design of CGC in F-Ts environments. Introduction: BRCA1/2 germline mutations are the most well-known genetic determinants for breast cancer. However, the distribution of germline mutations in non-BRCA1/2 cancer susceptibility genes in Chinese breast cancer patients is unclear. The association between clinical characteristics and germline mutations remains to be explored. Methods: Consecutive breast cancer patients from Peking University People's Hospital were enrolled. Clinical characteristics were collected, and next-generation sequencing was performed using blood samples of participants to identify pathogenic/likely pathogenic (P/LP) germline mutations in 32 cancer susceptibility genes including homologous recombination repair (HRR) genes. Results: A total of 885 breast cancer patients underwent the detection of germline mutations. 107 P/LP germline mutations of 17 genes were identified in 116 breast cancer patients including 79 (8.9%) in BRCA1/2 and 40 (4.5%) in 15 non-BRCA1/2 genes. PALB2 was the most frequently mutated gene other than BRCA1/2 but still relatively rare (1.1%). There were 38 novel P/LP germline variants detected. P/LP germline mutations in BRCA1/2 were significantly associated with onset age (p < 0.001), the family history of breast/ovarian cancer (p = 0.010), and molecular subtype (p < 0.001), while being correlated with onset age (p < 0.001), site of breast tumor (p = 0.028), and molecular subtype (p < 0.001) in HRR genes. Conclusions: The multiple-gene panel prominently increased the detection rate of P/LP germline mutations in 32 cancer susceptibility genes compared to BRCA1/2 alone. Onset younger than or equal to 45 years of age, bilateral and triple-negative breast cancer patients may be more likely to be recommended for detecting P/LP germline mutations in HRR genes. Based on wet chemical precipitation and spray drying technology, a Y–Zr-doped W powder was prepared as a precursor material for the preparation of Y–Zr-modified WC-8Co cemented carbides. The Y–Zr-modified WC-8Co hard alloy prepared by low pressure sintering method was used to study the change in the interface structure between the second phase and the substrate. The result showed that in the Y–Zr-doped W powder, the second phase was Y 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 particles. The Y 2 O 3 particles had a coherent interface with the W matrix, which was the reason for the formation of intragranular nano second phases in the modified hard alloys. The interface between ZrO 2 and W particles exhibited a semi coherent relationship, which was consistent with the interface structure of WC crystals and the second phase at grain boundaries. Some free second phase particles Y 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 in the doped powder formed a staggered interface structure in the modified alloy, generating Y–Zr–O solid solutions dispersed in the bonding phase. The performance of Y–Zr-modified WC-8Co hard alloy were superior to pure WC-8Co alloy prepared by the same process. Fly ash (FA) and granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) were used as a precursor for geopolymerization to develop a low-carbon pavement base construction material. Based on the orthogonal test method, three levels were set separately for the L9 (34) test considering the proportion of FA (raw fly ash to grained fly ash), ratio of sodium hydroxide to liquid alkaline activator (LAA), and proportion of GBFS mixed with FA and solid–liquid ratio [(FA + GBFS): LAA] as factors influencing the geopolymer. The influence of these factors on the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of soil stabilized by geopolymer was studied. The optimal combinations of levels and factors were determined. The UCS with these ratios combined was 5.1 MPa. According to the above compositions, the mechanical (UCS, splitting tensile strength, and flexural tensile strength) and durability (drying shrinkage, water stability, freezing and thawing resistance, and wet–dry cycle) properties of soil samples stabilized using the aforementioned geopolymer were investigated. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis were performed to determine the effect of the change in hydration silicate gel in the UCS development. According to the SEM and XRD test results, hydrated silicate gels exist in the sample, filling the pores of the soil, making the soil more compact, bonding the soil particles, and enhancing the engineering performance of the soil. Carbon fiber epoxy resin (CFRP), as space satellite antenna materials with great application prospects to transmit and receive signals. It is necessary to ensure its normal operation through surface thermal control, which can be achieved by covering with a flexible film. Polyimide (PI) films modified by ceramics particle have been widely studied in the field of flexible devices. However, there is no research on multifunctional PI films with thermal control and wave transmission multifunctional performance. In this study, ZrO 2 modified flexible PI films (PI/ZrO 2 films) which can be covered on the surface of satellite antenna was prepared, and its solar absorption and wave transmission properties were studied. Prepared films exhibited excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties, and the addition of ZrO 2 increased their thermal stability. The solar absorption of films with 50% ZrO 2 is the lowest for 0.30, and the highest reflectance can reach to 88.4%. In addition, the maximum dielectric constant of the films was less than 2.5, and the dielectric loss was less than 0.03, showing an excellent wave transmission performance. Vaccine manufacturing is one of the most challenging and complex processes in pharmaceutical industry, and the process control strategy is critical for the safety, effectiveness, and consistency of a vaccine. The efficacy of aluminum salt adjuvant on vaccines strongly depends on its physicochemical properties, such as size, structure, surface charge, etc. However, stresses during the vaccine manufacturing may affect the stability of adjuvant. In this study, the impacts of cold/thermal stress, autoclaving, pumping, mixing, and filling shear stress on the physicochemical properties of aluminum hydroxide (AH) adjuvant were evaluated as part of the manufacturing process development. The results showed that the autoclaving process would slightly influence the structure and properties of the investigated AH adjuvant, but thermal incubation at 2–8 °C, 25 °C and 40 °C for 4 weeks did not. However, -20 °C freezing AH adjuvant led to the adjuvant agglomeration and rapid sedimentation. For the high shear stress study with mixing at 500 rpm in a 1-L mixing bag and pumping at 220 rpm for up to 24 h, the average particle dimension of the bulk AH adjuvant decreased, along with decreasing protein adsorption ratio. The studies indicate that various stresses during manufacturing process could affect the structure and physicochemical properties of AH adjuvant, which calls for more attention on the control of adjuvant process parameters during manufacturing. In order to achieve efficient and durable oil-water emulsion separation, the membranes possessing high separation efficiency and mechanical strength attract extensive attention and are in great demand. In present study, a kind of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-based bilayer membrane was fabricated by electrospinning fibrous PTFE (fPTFE) on an expanded PTFE (ePTFE) substrate. The morphological observation revealed that the fibrous structure of the fPTFE layer could be tailored by controlling the formulation of spinning solution. The addition of appropriate polyoxyethylene (PEO) would make the fibers in the fPTFE layer finer and more uniform. As a result, the compounded membrane exhibited a small pore size of approximately 1.25 µm and a substantial porosity nearing 80%. This led to super-hydrophobicity, characterized by a high water contact angle (WCA) of 149.8°, and facilitated rapid oil permeation. The water-in-oil emulsion separation experiment further confirmed that the compounded membrane not only had a high separation efficiency closing 100%, but such an outstanding separation capacity could be largely retained, either through multiple cycles of use or through strong acid (pH=1), strong alkali (pH=12), or high-temperature (100 °C) treatment. Additionally, the mechanical behavior of the bilayer membrane was basically contributed by that of each layer in terms of their volume ratio. More significantly, the poor creep resistance of fPTFE layer was suppressed by compounding with ePTFE substrate. Hence, this study has laid the groundwork for a novel approach to create PTFE-based compounded membranes with exceptional overall characteristics, showing promise for applications in the realm of emulsion separation. This paper is concerned with threshold dynamics of a degenerate diffusive HBV infection model with DNA-containing capsids in heterogeneous environment. We firstly address the existence of global solutions, uniform and ultimate boundedness of solutions, asymptotic smoothness of semiflows and existence of a connected global attractor for the diffusive model. Then, we identify the basic reproduction number R 0 and establish a threshold-type result for the disease eradication or uniform persistence when R 0 ≤ 1 or R 0 > 1 , respectively. Especially, when R 0 > 1 and the diffusion rate of capsids or the diffusion rate of virions is zero, we further show that the model admits a unique infection steady state which is globally attractive. As a clean energy source, hydrogen has attracted high interest in developing efficient hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts due to its sustainable and renewable characteristics. In this work, we have systematically investigated the HER activity of the g-CN two-dimensional materials. The catalytic activity in HER is enhanced by doping non-metallic atoms (C, N, B, Si) and transition metal atoms (Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) in the vacancies of g-CN. Based on the first principle calculation, we screened 40 structures and found that the Δ G H * of Sc@C 3 –CN, V@C 3 –CN, Mn@C 3 –CN, Sc@N 3 –CN, and Ti@Si 3 –CN was close to zero. Among them, Ti@Si 3 –CN has the lowest Gibbs free energy change (−0.01 eV) and has excellent HER performance. In addition, we explored HER activity's origin by using machine learning (ML) algorithms. The results show that the atomic relative distance in the TM@X 3 -CN structure significantly affects the catalytic activity. This paper is grounded on the following information: (1) Disposable masks primarily consist of polypropylene fiber, which exhibits excellent flexibility. (2) China has extensive coal gangue deposits that pose a significant environmental hazard. (3) Coal gangue concrete exhibits greater fragility compared to regular concrete and demonstrates reduced resistance to deformation. With the consideration of environmental conservation and resource reutilization, a preliminary concept suggests the conversion of discarded masks into fibers, which can be blended with coal gangue concrete to enhance its mechanical characteristics. In this paper, the stress–strain law of different mask fiber–doped coal gangue concrete (DMGC) under uniaxial compression is studied when the matrix strength is C20 and C30, and the effect of mask fiber content on the mechanical behavior and energy conversion relationship of coal gangue concrete is analyzed. The experimental results show that when the content of mask fiber is less than 1.5%, the strength, elastic modulus, deformation resistance, and energy dissipation of the concrete increase with mask fiber content. When the amount of mask fiber is more than 1.5%, because the tensile capacity and energy dissipation level of concrete produced by the mask fiber cannot compensate for the compression and deformation resistance of concrete of the same quantity and because excess fiber is difficult to evenly mix in the concrete, there are pore defects in concrete, which decreases the concrete strength due to the increase in mask fiber. Therefore, adding less than 1.5% mask fiber helps to improve the ductility, toughness, impermeability, and oxidation and control the cracking of coal gangue concrete. Based on Weibull theory, a constitutive model of DMGC is established, which fits well with the results of a uniaxial test, providing support for understanding the mechanical law of mask fiber–doped concrete. Aims: The current evidence demonstrates that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) hold therapeutic potential for ischemic stroke. However, it remains unclear how changes in the secretion of MSC cytokines following the overexpression of heme oxygenase‐1 (HO‐1) impact excessive inflammatory activation in a mouse ischemic stroke model. This study investigated this aspect and provided further insights. Methods: The middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) mouse model was established, and subsequent injections of MSC, MSCHO‐1, or PBS solutions of equal volume were administered via the mice's tail vein. Histopathological analysis was conducted on Days 3 and 28 post‐MCAO to observe morphological changes in brain slices. mRNA expression levels of various factors, including IL‐1β, IL‐6, IL‐17, TNF‐α, IL‐1Ra, IL‐4, IL‐10, TGF‐β, were quantified. The effects of MSCHO‐1 treatment on neurons, microglia, and astrocytes were observed using immunofluorescence after transplantation. The polarization direction of macrophages/microglia was also detected using flow cytometry. Results: The results showed that the expression of anti‐inflammatory factors in the MSCHO‐1 group increased while that of pro‐inflammatory factors decreased. Small animal fluorescence studies and immunofluorescence assays showed that the homing function of MSCsHO‐1 was unaffected, leading to a substantial accumulation of MSCsHO‐1 in the cerebral ischemic region within 24 h. Neurons were less damaged, activation and proliferation of microglia were reduced, and polarization of microglia to the M2 type increased after MSCHO‐1 transplantation. Furthermore, after transplantation of MSCsHO‐1, the mortality of mice decreased, and motor function improved significantly. Conclusion: The findings indicate that MSCs overexpressing HO‐1 exhibited significant therapeutic effects against hyper‐inflammatory injury after stroke in mice, ultimately promoting recovery after ischemic stroke. In this paper, we formalize memory- and tracking-based methods to perform the LiDAR-based Video Object Segmentation (VOS) task, which segments points of the specific 3D target (given in the first frame) in a LiDAR sequence. LiDAR-based VOS can directly provide target-aware geometric information for practical application scenarios like behavior analysis and anticipating danger. We first construct a LiDAR-based VOS dataset named KITTI-VOS based on SemanticKITTI, which acts as a testbed and facilitates comprehensive evaluations of algorithm performance. Next, we provide two types of baselines, i.e., memory-based and tracking-based baselines, to explore this task. Specifically, the first memory-based pipeline is built on a space–time memory network equipped with the non-local spatiotemporal attention-based memory bank. We further design a more potent variant to introduce the locality into the spatiotemporal attention module by local self-attention and cross-attention modules. For the second tracking-based baseline, we modify two representative 3D object tracking methods to adapt to LiDAR-based VOS tasks. Finally, we propose a refine module that takes mask priors and generates object-aware kernels, which could boost all the baselines' performance. The ongoing reproducibility crisis in psychology and cognitive neuroscience has sparked increasing calls to re-evaluate and reshape scientific culture and practices. Heeding those calls, we have recently launched the EEGManyPipelines project as a means to assess the robustness of EEG research in naturalistic conditions and experiment with an alternative model of conducting scientific research. One hundred sixty-eight analyst teams, encompassing 396 individual researchers from 37 countries, independently analyzed the same unpublished, representative EEG data set to test the same set of predefined hypotheses and then provided their analysis pipelines and reported outcomes. Here, we lay out how large-scale scientific projects can be set up in a grassroots, community-driven manner without a central organizing laboratory. Purpose: This study investigated the impact of different levels of COVID‐19 social restrictions (social distancing in 2020, large‐scale home confinement in 2021) on myopia prevalence and behaviours in a preschool population with school‐based eyecare programme. Methods: Repeated cross‐sectional surveys were conducted between August and December in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Children aged 5–6 years received ocular examinations, and questionnaires were answered by caregivers before the day of the examination. The main outcome measures were the changes in after‐school time spent on homework, screen‐based devices and outdoors. Secondary outcome was the change in myopia prevalence (spherical equivalent [SE] ≤ −0.5 D in either eye after cycloplegia). Results: A total of 9997 preschoolers were included in the analysis. Under tighter restrictions, more preschoolers spent ≥1 h/day on screen‐based devices (42.8% in 2019, 45.2% in 2020, 48.9% in 2021, p < 0.001), and fewer preschoolers spent ≥30 min/day on after‐school outdoor activities (49.5% in 2019, 46.0% in 2020, 41.0% in 2021, p < 0.001) on weekdays. A similar trend was found on weekends. While more preschoolers spent ≥2 h/day on screen‐based devices (35.3% in 2019, 38.5% in 2020, 43.0% in 2021, p < 0.001), fewer preschoolers spent ≥2 h/day on outdoor activities (41.7% in 2019, 41.7% in 2020, 34.0% in 2021, p < 0.001). The mean SE and myopia prevalence were stable (9.1% in 2019, 10.3% in 2020, 9.4% in 2021, p = 0.707). Conclusion: Our study showed dose‐dependent effect of social restrictions on near‐work and outdoor behaviours at home. Growth of Er3+‐doped 100‐nm thick LiNbO3(LN) films on Z‐cut LiTaO3(LT) single‐crystal by e‐beam evaporation and in‐situ anneal at 600–800°C was studied. Crystalline phase, crystallographic orientation, Er3+ spectroscopic properties, constituent element valence states, defects, Er3+ concentration and stoichiometry of the films were characterized. The results show that the films are in LN single‐crystal state and orient along with c crystallographic axis. Constituent elements Li, O and Er are present in their respective single valence states Li+, O2−, Er3+, while the Nb is in two valence states Nb5+ and Nb4+. The films have Li2O‐contents around congruent point. Antisite(NbLi4+) is the major defect. Its concentration decreases, while Li2O‐content, crystallinity degree, and fluorescence intensity increase with increased growth temperature. The presence of Er3+ in the grown films is in the form of LN crystalline phase. Its concentration is considerably lower than that in initial target material because of lower e‐beam evaporation efficiency of heavy Er3+. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ruthenium (Ru) is an ideal substitute to commercial Pt/C for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Reducing the size of Ru to clusters can greatly increase the utilization of atoms, however, over‐strong RuH binding will be brought about. Additionally, the water dissociation ability of Ru clusters is unfavorable, leading to unsatisfactory activity in alkaline and neutral HER. Herein, a rational and versatile design strategy is proposed by exploring supports with both high work function and facilitated water dissociation ability to boost the pH‐universal HER activity of Ru clusters. As exemplified by Mo2C, density functional calculations verify that the introduction of Mo2C support can optimize the hydrogen adsorption energy and promote the kinetics of water dissociation. Guided by theoretical calculations, heterostructured Mo2C nanoparticles‐Ru clusters anchored carbon spheres (Mo2C‐Ru/C) are designed and prepared. A low overpotential of 22 mV at 10 mA cm−2 and a small Tafel slope of 25 mV dec−1 in alkaline solution is demonstrated by Mo2C‐Ru/C. The Mo2C‐Ru/C also exhibits excellent activity in alkaline seawater, acidic, and neutral solutions. When assembling Mo2C‐Ru/C with Zn foil to construct an alkaline‐acid Zn‐H2O battery, the as‐fabricated battery presents high discharge power density and excellent stability for simultaneous generation of electricity and hydrogen (H2). The Zhurong rover of the Tianwen-1 mission successfully landed in the southern part of the Utopian Planitia and the northern region of the dichotomy boundary. Craters within a ~ 134 km2 region surrounding the Zhurong rover were identified and divided into seven degradation classes based on their preservation states and morphological details. Assessing how craters have degraded over time provides insight into local surface processes and then speculates on the climate evolution of the study area. The small depth/diameter (d/D) of craters in the study area may be caused by the rapid filling of sediments or by impact processes occurring in poorly cohesive weathering layers, and may also be associated with the volatile material alteration. As time went by, the process of crater degradation is nonlinear, and the degradation rate of the fresh crater in the study area at the initial stage of degradation may be as high as 0.2 m/Myr. The calculated surface erosion rate for the study area is ~ 10–2–10–3 m/Myr, indicating that the erosion of the Martian surface since the Middle Amazonian occurred in the dry environment dominated by wind-sand erosion. This study investigated the covariation of thermal conditions of the Southeast Asian low-latitude highlands (SEALLH) and variability of the summer East Asia–Pacific (EAP) or Pacific–Japan (PJ) teleconnection pattern using ERA5 reanalysis data and numerical experiments. Statistical analysis and physical diagnosis show that the EAP/PJ teleconnection pattern is significantly related to the seesaw mode of diabatic heating over the SEALLH in summer on the interannual time scale. When enhanced diabatic heating occurs over the central–northern SEALLH with weakened diabatic heating over the southern SEALLH, anomalous easterly and westerly winds, fitting the quasi-geostrophic theory, appear over the southern and central–northern SEALLH, receptively. These anomalous winds are propitious to the EAP/PJ teleconnection pattern in the "+, −, +" phase from the western North Pacific to northeast Asia. Once a significant relationship has been established in late spring, it can persist through to the following summer. Sensitivity experiments identified the key physical process linking the variability of the thermal conditions over the SEALLH to the summer EAP/PJ teleconnection pattern on an interannual time-scale. The application of carbon fiber epoxy resin composite (CFRP) in the aerospace industry is limited by the laser treatment, because of the poor oxidation resistance and anti-laser ablation performance of the composites. The application of a coating on components is an effective method to improve their laser ablation resistance. The nitride coatings, consisting of Si3N4, AlN, BN, and an epoxy resin, were applied onto the CFRP using brush painting. When irradiating at 100 W/cm2 for 5 s, the damage has occurred on the coating with Si3N4 and AlN, and the BN coating remains original morphology at 100 W/cm2 for 20 s. With the power density has increased to 200 W/cm2, the serious ablation damage occurs in the BN coating irradiated for 10 s. Due to the heat absorption of resin pyrolysis and the low thermal conductivity of CFRP, the highest back-surface temperature is only 75 °C. This paper is concerned with a degenerate and time delayed virus infection model with spatial heterogeneity and general incidence. The well‐posedness of the system, including global existence, uniqueness, and ultimately boundedness of the solutions, as well as the existence of a global attractor, is discussed. The basic reproduction number R0$\mathcal {R}_0$ is defined and a characterization of R0$\mathcal {R}_0$ is presented. Without the compactness of the solution semiflow, we establish the global dynamics of the system based on R0$\mathcal {R}_0$. In addition, when the system is spatially homogeneous, the unique infection steady state is globally asymptotically stable. Simulations are presented to illustrate our theoretical results. The thermal and mechanical effects of the regional orography have long been recognized as the two most important factors driving the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM). The Southeast Asian low-latitude highlands (SEALLH) are a warmer and wetter highland region adjacent to the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. However, the importance of the individual contributions of the thermal and mechanical effects of the SEALLH to the EASM is still unclear. Results of numerical experiments show that the thermal effect of the SEALLH contribute to the precipitation and upper-tropospheric circulation of the EASM by roughly the same magnitude as the mechanical effect of the SEALLH, when its original height is reduced by 50%. The thermal effect of the SEALLH influences the EASM by exciting an East Asia–Pacific-like teleconnection, whereas the mechanical effect of the SEALLH impacts the EASM by exciting an equivalent barotropic Bay of Bengal–East Asia–Pacific-like teleconnection. This study could provide a new perspective for a better understanding of the EASM. Significance Statement: Recent studies have shown that the mountains adjacent to the Tibetan Plateau have significant effects on the Asian summer monsoon, although these mountains are much lower in elevation and smaller in extent than the Tibetan Plateau. The Southeast Asian low-latitude highlands (SEALLH), located on the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau, influence the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) via both thermal and mechanical effects. However, the individual thermal and mechanical contributions to the EASM have not yet been clarified. A liquid bath vibrating vertically can lead to the emergence of a self-propelled walking droplet on its free surface, which can exhibit chaotic motion. It is well-known that trajectories of a chaotic system are sensitive to its initial condition, known as the "butterfly-effect", while its statistics normally remain stable to small disturbances: this type of chaos is called "normal-chaos". However, a concept called "ultra-chaos" has been recently introduced, whose statistical features are unstable, i.e. extremely sensitive to small disturbances. Up to now, a few examples of ultra-chaos have been reported. In this paper, the influence of tiny disturbances on the motion of walking droplet is investigated. It is found that both normal-chaos and ultra-chaos exist in the motion of the walking droplet. Different from the normal-chaotic motion, even the statistical properties of the droplet's ultra-chaotic motion are sensitive to tiny disturbances. Therefore, this illustrates once again that ultra-chaos indeed exists widely and represents a higher disorder compared with normal-chaos. The ultra-chaos as a new concept can widen our knowledge about chaos and provide us with a new point of view to study chaotic properties. It should be emphasized that, for an ultra-chaos, it is impossible to repeat any results of its physical experiments or numerical simulations even in the meaning of statistics! Carbon materials play an important role in supercapacitors due to their structural diversity, rich surface morphology, excellent chemical stability and highly active surfaces. Currently, there are many reports on the synthesis methods for carbon-based materials. The molten salt method stands out among the many methods for its advantages of economy, environmental protection, high efficiency, and maneuverability. Here, we focus on the different roles played by molten salts as templates, sealants, reaction media, and catalysts from the point of view of their functions. The properties and selection principles of the molten salts are discussed in depth, focusing on the morphology, structure, and capacitive properties of the carbon materials prepared using the molten salt strategy. Finally, the current research status of the preparation of carbon-based materials by the molten salt method is summarized, the shortcomings of existing technology are pointed out, and the prospects for its development are envisioned. It is hoped that this review can provide some basic knowledge for the preparation of carbon-based materials by the molten salt method and promote further research on molten salt technology. Carbon-based materials have demonstrated excellent thermal, electric, optical, magnetic, and mechanical properties, offering promising application potential in many fields. Corresponding synthetic approaches meeting the requirements of sustainable development goals are always desired. Compared with chemical vapor deposition, solvothermal, conventional pyrolysis, and salt-assisted methods are emerging as advanced synthetic technologies for the fabrication of carbon-based materials since these processes are expected to be more sustainable. Herein, we provide a comprehensive review on the salt-assisted synthesis of carbon-based materials and their typical energy-related applications. First, the properties of carbon and a comparison of various synthetic techniques are briefly introduced. In particular, we highlight the advantages of salt-assisted synthesis in view of sustainable development goals. For convenience, we divide the roles of salt in assisting the synthesis of carbon-based materials into four subclasses: reaction medium, pore-forming agent, morphology control, and precursors. Simultaneously, the applications of these carbon-based materials in energy-related fields are discussed. Lastly, the major challenges in this field are outlined, and future research avenues in salt-assisted synthesis of carbon-based materials for energy-related applications are also highlighted. It is expected that this tutorial review will supply necessary background information to further advance salt-assisted synthesis of carbon-based materials for energy-related applications. Background: Cognitive dysfunction is prevalent among the elderly diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Low protein diets are used for retarding the progression of CKD in clinical practice. Nonetheless, the impact of dietary protein consumption on cognitive function in this population remains uncertain. Methods: We recruited 2306 participants (=60 years) from 2011 to 2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). 24-h dietary recall questionnaire was utilized to evaluate protein intake. Cognitive function was measured using the Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease (CERAD), Animal Fluency Test (AFT), and Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST). Participants' characteristics were analyzed, and the interaction between protein consumption and CKD on cognitive impairment were analyzed using a logistic regression model. Results: We divided participants into three groups based on CKD stages: no CKD, CKD stage G1 to G2 (19%), and CKD stage G3 to G5 (18%). The average protein intake was 0.97 g/(kg·d). In the higher protein intake group, CKD stages G1 to G2 elevated the risk of immediate memory impairment (OR: 2.441, 95% Cl: 1.161-5.132 for protein consumption in 1.0-1.2g/(kg·d); OR: 2.225, 95% Cl: 1.015-4.876 for protein consumption in >1.2 g/(kg·d)). However, no similar resuts were observed in the lower protein intake group. In addition, the interaction between CKD status and protein intake on immediate memory was statistically significant (p = .041). Conclusion: A higher probability of cognitive impairment in the elderly with early-stage CKD may be linked to higher protein intake. This paper concerns with a class of Volterra nonautonomous evolution inclusions with time delay effect defined on a noncompact interval. It involves a family of (possibly unbounded) operators, which generates a noncompact evolution family. In the framework of Fréchet spaces, the topological structure of the solution set for evolution inclusion is considered. Moreover, we obtain geometric features of the corresponding solution map. Our results extend essentially the existing ones which do not involve Volterra integral in nonlinearity. We finally present a concrete example to illustrate the abstract results. Quantum key agreement (QKA) is an important cryptographic primitive that plays a pivotal role in private communications. However, in practical implementations of QKA, the flaws in participants' detectors may be exploited to compromise the security and fairness of the protocol. To address this issue, we propose a two-party measurement-device-independent QKA protocol, effectively eliminating all detector-side-channel loopholes. This protocol is based on quantum entanglement swapping and Bell-state measurements, making it feasible under current technological conditions.
