The acceptance of assistive robots in eldercare is an emerging field of research, particularly due to the longevity of the ageing population. This study aimed to advance the modelling of the value-based adoption model to assess assistive robots' acceptance in eldercare. A group of 387 informal caregivers was surveyed. Perceived ease of use, financial risk, perceived usefulness and well-being were found to be the drivers of perceived value in the proposed model, whereas performance risk had no significant effect. Trust, well-being and perceived value were significant drivers of assistive robots' acceptance by informal caregivers. The findings hold potential implications for policy and practice, suggesting specific measures that assistive robot firms and relevant parties could adopt. The findings offer feasible recommendations for assistive robot firms and other relevant parties to enhance trust, promote well-being and maximise perceived value in the design and implementation of assistive robot technologies. Investors' perception of past portfolio returns predicts their investment behavior, but does this relationship mediate by overconfidence? Taking into account different aspects of overconfidence, this paper examines whether overconfidence manifested as illusion of control, miscalibration and better-than-average mediates the association between perception of past portfolio returns and investment behavior. In a survey study with individual and institutional investors from Malaysia, the results indicate that perception of higher past portfolio returns increases investors' trading, percentage of risky share investment and the number of financial asset holding, through the mediating channel of better-than-average effect. While individual investors are influenced by this overconfidence mechanism, institutional investors are not sensitive. This finding has theoretical implication for overconfidence model, house money effect and naïve reinforcement learning. This study investigates the impact of the aggregate and individual dimensions of environmental performance (EP) on financial performance (FP), based on a dataset covering the travel and tourism industry (airlines, casinos, hotels, and restaurants) across different economic regions over the period 2003–2014. The results reveal that EP positively affects the FP in the hotel industry when aggregate EP is used. When individual dimensions of EP are considered, resource reduction is found to positively (negatively) affect the performance in the hotel (airline) industry, while product innovation positively affects the performance in the restaurant industry. Hence, the trade-off effect seems to be dominant in the airline industry, and the ‘heterogeneous resources and reputation-building’ hypothesis is evident in both the hotel and restaurant industries. In addition, in general, the findings support the positive moderating effect of slack resources on the relationship between the individual dimensions of EP and FP in the travel and tourism industry, and, hence, are supportive of the slack resources hypothesis. Abstract: This study assesses empirically the effects of monetary policy on four ASEAN economies in different states. The idea of asymmetry is being examined by using the relatively popular technique of non-linear modeling—Hamilton''s Markov regime-switching model. The findings confirmed the existence of two-regimes in all economies under study. Additionally, the null hypothesis of symmetry had been rejected in the case of the four economies and to a great extent, monetary policy was confirmed to have had larger effects during recessions. These findings, thus, may imply the important role that credit market imperfections have on a firm''s investment behavior, which in turn suggests that the financial accelerator is a relevant mechanism underscoring the observed asymmetry.
