This study explored the combined administration of docetaxel (DOC) and erlotinib (ERL) using nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs), with folic acid (FA) conjugation to enhance their synergistic anticancer efficacy against triple-negative breast cancer. NLCs were developed through hot melt homogenization–ultrasound dispersion, and optimized by a quality-by-design (QbD) approach using Plackett–Burman design and Box–Behnken design. Plots were generated based on maximum desirability. Spherical, nanosized dispersions (<200 nm) with zeta potential ranging from −16.4 to −14.15 mV were observed. These nanoformulations demonstrated ~95% entrapment efficiency with around 5% drug loading. Stability tests revealed that the NLCs remained stable for 6 months under storage conditions at 4 °C. In vitro release studies indicated sustained release over 24 h, following Higuchi and Korsmeyer–Peppas models for NLCs and FA NLCs, respectively. Additionally, an in vitro pH-stat lipolysis model exhibited a nearly fivefold increase in bioaccessibility compared to drug-loaded suspensions. The DOC–ERL-loaded formulations exhibited dose- and time-dependent cytotoxicity, revealing synergism at a 1:3 molar ratio in MDA-MB-231 and 4T1 cells, with combination indices of 0.35 and 0.37, respectively. Structural, magnetic, and transport properties of Ni52+xMn26-xAl22 (1 ≤ x ≤ 5) melt-spun ribbons have been characterized by a variety of experimental techniques. As the composition changed from x = 1 to x = 5, the martensitic transition temperature T0 [ = (Ms + Af)/2] was found to increase from 277 K to 446 K which was attributed to an increase in the valence electron concentration e/a. In the martensitic state, all the samples demonstrate an anomalous semiconducting behavior of electrical resistivity ρ. This uncommon feature of the transport properties has been ascribed to the existence of a gap (Eg ∼ 0.1 eV) at the Fermi level. A crossover from semiconducting to metallic behavior of ρ observed in the martensitic state of Ni57Mn21Al22 is presumably related to a spin-density wave formation at the Neel temperature TN ≈ 300 K. Analysis of a low-temperature (T < 60 K) part of the resistivity curves and comprehensive magnetic measurements of a Ni57Mn21Al22 (x ≤ 5) sample provide grounds for the conclusion that the splitting of zero-field cooling and field cooling magnetization curves observed at low temperatures is due to a spin-glass state that is formed below the freezing temperature Tf. Abstract Background and objective Healthcare tweets are particularly challenging due to its sparse layout and its limited character size. Compared to previous method based on "bag of words" (BOW) model, this study uniquely identifies the enrichment protocol and learns how semantically different aspects of feature selection such as BOW (feature F0), term frequency inverse document frequency (TF-IDF, feature F1), and latent semantic indexing (LSI, feature F2) when applied sequentially with classifier improves the overall performance. Methods To study this enrichment concept, our ML model is tested on two kinds of diverse data sets: (i) D1: Disease data with conjunctivitis, diarrhea, stomach ache, cough and nausea related tweets, and (ii) D2: WebKB4 dataset, while adapting three kind of classifiers (a) C1: support vector machine with radial basis function (SVMR), (b) C2: Multi-layer perceptron (MLP) and (c) C3: Random Forest (RF). Partition protocol (K10) was adapted with different performance metrics to evaluate machine learning (ML)-system. Results Using the combination of F1, C1, D1, K10, ML accuracy was: 94%, while with F2, C1, D1, K10, ML accuracy was 97%. Using the incremental feature enrichment from F0 to F2, K10 protocol gave F1 improvement over F0 by 4.98% on Disease dataset, while F2 improvement over F0 was by 11.78% on WebKB4 dataset. We demonstrated the generalization over memorization process in our ML-design. The system was tested for stability and reliability. Conclusions We conclude that semantically different aspects of feature selection, when adapted sequentially, leads to improvement in ML-accuracy for healthcare data sets. Abstract Use of paper-based devices for affordable diagnostics is gaining interest due to unique advantages such as affordability, portability, easy disposability and inherent capillarity. As capillary transportation is an integral component of paper-based devices, low sample volume with faster measurement becomes an additional advantage. We have developed a simple, paper-based microfluidic device suitable for measuring the viscosity of Newtonian fluids as well as a few non-Newtonian fluids with sample volume as little as 12–20 μL. The results could be obtained much faster than the conventional methods. A comparative analysis of the results obtained with our paper-based viscometer and with that of the conventional Ostwald viscometer shows a correlation coefficient greater than 0.99. Apart from viscosity measurement, the paper-based devices were tested for protein denaturation and polymer molecular weight determination. Our results show that the paper-based viscometer could be a potential alternative for the conventional viscometers in the viscosity range from 0.9 cP up till ∼40 cP, with added benefits in terms of time, cost and low sample volume requirement. Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) is a powerful surface-sensitive technique for molecular analysis. Its use is limited due to high cost, non-flexible rigid substrates such as silicon, alumina or glass and less reproducibility due to non-uniform surface. Recently, paper-based SERS substrates, a low-cost and highly flexible alternative, received significant attention. We report here a rapid, inexpensive method for chitosan-reduced, in-situ synthesis of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) on paper devices towards direct utilization as SERS substrates. GNPs have been prepared by reducing chloroauric acid with chitosan as a reducing and capping reagent on the cellulose-based paper surface at 100 °C, under the saturated humidity condition (100 % humidity). GNPs thus obtained were uniformly distributed on the surface and had fairly uniform particle size with a diameter of 10 ± 2 nm. Substrate coverage of resulting GNPs directly depended on the precursor's ratio, temperature and reaction time. Techniques such as TEM, SEM, and FE-SEM were utilized to determine the shape, size, and distribution of GNPs on paper substrate. SERS substrate produced by this simple, rapid, reproducible and robust method of chitosan-reduced, in situ synthesis of GNPs, showed exceptional performance and long-term stability, with a detection limit of up to 1 pM concentration of test analyte, R6G. With the rapid advancements of the internet of things (IoT), several applications have evolved with completely dissimilar structures and requirements. However, the fifth generation of mobile cellular networks (5G) is unable to successfully support the dissimilar structures and requirements. The sixth generation of mobile cellular networks (6G) is likely to enable new and unidentified applications with varying requirements. Therefore, 6G not only provides 10 to 100 times the speed of 5G, but 6G can also provide dynamic services for advanced IoT applications. However, providing security to 6G networks is still a significant problem. Therefore, in this paper, a hybrid image encryption technique is proposed to secure multimedia data communication over 6G networks. Initially, multimedia data are encrypted by using the proposed model. Thereafter, the encrypted data are then transferred over the 6G networks. Extensive experiments are conducted by using various attacks and security measures. Abstract: Magnetocaloric properties of Ni2.29Mn0.89Ga0.82, a Ga deficient and Ni rich composition have been studied. It has been shown that an optimum shape of magnetic entropy change versus temperature curve results in large refrigeration capacity (RC) of 100 J/Kg in an applied field of 5T, around 319 K. Results of fundamental and third order ac susceptibility measurements in a Ni49Mn29Ga22 single crystal demonstrate that higher harmonics of ac-susceptibility measurement is an excellent tool to identify transitions/anomalies originating from different magnetic substructures that remain undetected by usual dc susceptibility measurements. Anomaly observed at low temperature (∼150 K) has also been explored by differential scanning calorimetry, temperature dependent x-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy measurements. The results demonstrate that the magnetic subsystem in Ni-Mn-Ga is unstable at low temperatures not only for metastable modulated crystal structure but also for very stable nonmodulated tetragonal structure. Magnetic and structural properties of Ni–Mn–Al thin films are investigated. It is demonstrated that the annealed film shows L21 phase at room temperature. Magnetometry measurements reveal that the annealed film is ferromagnetic and a first order transition in magnetization versus temperature measurement confirms that the martensite to austenite transition occurs around room temperature. Transmission electron microscopy measurements confirm that this structural change occurs just below room temperature. The splitting of Mn 2p3/2 level in x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy core level spectra of the annealed Ni–Mn–Al film, confirms that the origin of magnetism is definitely correlated with the local magnetic moment at the Mn atoms. A machine learning (ML)-based text classification system has several classifiers. The performance evaluation (PE) of the ML system is typically driven by the training data size and the partition protocols used. Such systems lead to low accuracy because the text classification systems lack the ability to model the input text data in terms of noise characteristics. This research study proposes a concept of misrepresentation ratio (MRR) on input healthcare text data and models the PE criteria for validating the hypothesis. Further, such a novel system provides a platform to amalgamate several attributes of the ML system such as: data size, classifier type, partitioning protocol and percentage MRR. Our comprehensive data analysis consisted of five types of text data sets (TwitterA, WebKB4, Disease, Reuters (R8), and SMS); five kinds of classifiers (support vector machine with linear kernel (SVM-L), MLP-based neural network, AdaBoost, stochastic gradient descent and decision tree); and five types of training protocols (K2, K4, K5, K10 and JK). Using the decreasing order of MRR, our ML system demonstrates the mean classification accuracies as: 70.13 ± 0.15%, 87.34 ± 0.06%, 93.73 ± 0.03%, 94.45 ± 0.03% and 97.83 ± 0.01%, respectively, using all the classifiers and protocols. The corresponding AUC is 0.98 for SMS data using Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) based neural network. All the classifiers, the best accuracy of 91.84 ± 0.04% is shown to be of MLP-based neural network and this is 6% better over previously published. Further we observed that as MRR decreases, the system robustness increases and validated by standard deviations. The overall text system accuracy using all data types, classifiers, protocols is 89%, thereby showing the entire ML system to be novel, robust and unique. In this paper, we present a dual wide-band ingestible antenna design for wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) biotelemetry applications. The design process employs Characteristic Mode Analysis (CMA) and driven modal analysis. The effectiveness of the prototype antenna is afterward assessed through measurements using a tissue-equivalent phantom liquid model. We investigate the effects of antenna implantation depth and capsule shell thickness on its performance, providing insights into practical considerations. The proposed dual-band antenna demonstrates good performance in both the 1.4 GHz Wireless Medical Telemetry Services (WMTS) and 2.45 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) bands, exhibiting measured impedance bandwidths of 36% and 22%, respectively. The measured peak realized gains are −22.9 dBi and −25.3 dBi for the WMTS and ISM bands, respectively, with a compact footprint of 78.5 mm2. To ensure health and safety and optimal performance, we evaluate the antenna's specific absorption rate (SAR) and link margin (LM). Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) are one of the most abundant metal oxides nanoparticles. It provides excellent thermal, electrical and chemical stabilities with low biotoxicity; its photo-oxidising and photo-catalytic impact on biological and chemical species is of great importance, thereby making it a promising candidate to be used for in vitro and in vivo studies in biomedical field. Hereby, ZnO NPs were synthesized using precipitation method with zinc acetate and sodium hydroxide as starting materials. This study has characterized the synthesized ZnO NPs using different techniques such as UV-Visible spectroscopy indicating a peak at 365 nm wavelength, size of ZnO NPs was determined to be 286.7 nm by measuring hydrodynamic radii using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) phenomena. Further predominant charge existing at surface of the synthesised ZnO NPs was evaluated to be 31.6 mV. Anti-microbial activity of ZnO NPs was determined by Kirby-Bauer method for both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, S. aureus and E. coli, respectively. Anti-microbial activity was determined as Zone of Inhibition that measures both bactericidal and bacteriostatic activity of ZnO NPs and was found to be more potent for Gram-positive (S. aureus) bacteria and its activity increased with increasing concentration of nanoparticles. Growth kinetics was studied to determine percentage growth inhibition, for this optical density was recorded as a function of time in bacterial culture broth with and without treatment. Further DNA fragmentation assay was performed to determine genotoxicity caused by nanoparticles and its effect on genomic DNA of bacteria. We have studied the magnetic behavior of YMn 1− x Fe x O 3 ( x =0 and 0.2) nanoparticles synthesized by conventional solid state reaction method. The as-synthesized nanoparticles were found to have hexagonal phase with P6 3 cm space group confirmed by X-Ray diffraction. The particle size was found to be ~70 nm as confirmed by both X-Ray diffraction and Transmission Electron Microscopy. DC magnetization and memory effect measurements imply that the h-YMnO 3 nanoparticles bear a resemblance to super spin-glass state following de Almeida–Thouless like behavior which is being suppressed by Fe-doping. The Fe-doping in YMnO 3 enhances the antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition temperature T N to ~79 K and induces a new magnetic state due to the surface spins which is realized as diluted antiferromagnet in a field (DAFF) as explored by the thermoremanent and isothermoremanent magnetization measured with different applied magnetic field. The structural and magnetic properties of polycrystalline Nd 2 NiMnO 6 (NNMO) synthesized by solid state reaction method have been investigated. Rietveld refinement of Powder X-Ray diffraction data suggests that NNMO compound crystallizes in monoclinic phase with space group P 2 1 / n. Magnetic measurements reveal an additional magnetic transition T C ׳ ~85 K due to to Ni 3+ –O–Mn 3+ antiferromagnetic superexchange interaction along with ferromagnetic transition ~196 K in M–T curve, leading to antiferromagnetic interactions in this compound. High sintering temperature (upto 1100 °C) leads to the formation of antisite disorders and antiferromagnetic antiphase boundaries in the present sample. The magnetic hysteresis measurements show ferromagnetic behavior with low saturation magnetization value (~2 μ B /f.u.) than the theoretical spin-only value (5 μ B /f.u.) of Ni/Mn ions. Hence, antisite disorders diminish the long range ferromagnetic ordering and also affect the magnetic properties of this compound. Exchange bias behavior has been observed in the hysteresis loops when the sample was field cooled from 300 K to 5 K. Exchange coupling between the ferromagnetic moments and antiferromagnetic antiphase boundaries is responsible for the observation of exchange bias in the present system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Epitaxial thin films of double perovskite Nd 2 NiMnO 6 (NNMO) have been successfully grown on (001) oriented substrates of (LaAlO 3 ) 0.3 -(Sr 2 AlTaO 6 ) 0.7 (LSAT), SrTiO 3 (STO) and LaAlO 3 (LAO) by pulsed laser deposition under optimum growth conditions. X-Ray diffraction and reciprocal space maps of the asymmetric (103) peak reveal that the films deposited on LSAT and STO substrates are fully relaxed, while a large in- plane compressive strain has been observed in film grown on LAO. This results into the coexistence of anti-site disorder and orthorhombic phase in the film deposited on LAO, which is further confirmed from observed shift and broadening in the antisymmetric vibrations in the Raman spectra. The temperature dependent magnetization shows a ferromagnetic transition close to 200 K in all the three samples. However, film grown on LAO substrate shows an additional upturn transition at ~ 96 K ( T ′), which could be ascribed to the formation of antisite disorders further responsible for reduction of saturation magnetization (~ 1.8 × 10 5 A/m) in hysteresis curve of the sample. The ordered structure obtained on LSAT and STO exhibit in-plane easy axis with a large coercivity of ~ 0.2 T, while, the film deposited on LAO does not show any preferred anisotropic direction. In the present work exchange bias in Mn rich Ni-Mn-Al film has been studied. The film has been deposited by cosputtering from the targets of Ni, Mn and Al. It exhibits an antiferromagnetic B2 phase at room temperature. At low temperature, magnetization versus temperature (M - T) measurement shows a bifurcation among ZFC and FC curves. Hysteresis (M-H) loops measurements reveal the occurrence of exchange bias phenomenon at low temperature. Large H EB of 2.2 kOe for 20 kOe cooling field has been observed. There occurs a field induced ordering at temperature ~50 K reflected as coinciding ZFC (zero-field cooled) and FC (field-cooled) curves at large magnetic field. AC susceptibility measurement indicates the occurrence of cluster glass behaviour at low temperature. The exchange constant obtained from the best fit to the experimental data was found to be Ji ≈ −2 meV. The negative interface exchange constant indicates AFM coupling occurs among the coexisting phases. Exchange bias phenomenon may be associated to the coexistence of antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic like ordering at low temperature. Cooling field dependence of H EB and coercive field H C indicate that an increase in anisotropy and growth of ferromagnetic clusters occurs at high magnetic field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
