The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 caused by Coronavirus has become a deadly disease that has shaken the entire world, and the WHO has declared it a pandemic. The global epidemic has spread worldwide, affecting most countries around the globe. The pandemic has deeply influenced the education sector, due to which several schools and colleges are physically remaining closed now. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected billions of learners in more than 200 countries. The situation challenged the education system worldwide and even forced academicians and educationists to shift from physical learning methods to online modes of teaching. On the one hand, educational institutions are struggling to find ways to meet the COVID-19 crisis concerning online teaching-learning methods while focusing on novel online pedagogical approaches. On the other hand, the hour must choose innovative and exciting alternative online educational systems and new assessment methods. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has paved the way for introducing several digital modes of online teaching-learning. The present article focuses on a brief report on the disruption of the education system due to COVID-19 on online teaching and learning and the future educational plans to see that learners do not lose track of achieving their goals. It also focuses on the importance of critical thinking skills in education. The modern education system demands an individual to possess the ability to think critically. The skill of thinking enables the learners to handle several situations in real life.
