Despite much criticism, global digital platforms hold some promise for small-scale entrepreneurs (SSEs) in the global south. However, they are often excluded from direct participation in global initiatives, such as crowdfunding. Besides socio-cultural disparities, accessibility and adoption issues, technology usage and integration present a major challenge. To bridge those gaps we propose a workable model consisting of a local tech mediator operating on a digital platform connecting local SSE to global digital services. We have engaged a group of informal settlement SSE in Windhoek, Namibia to jointly conceptualise the roles, tasks and responsibilities of a local tech mediator, concurrently with technical skills training as well as the development of an international crowdfunding campaign. We assert that the jointly developed concepts of a local instantiation of the model as well as the co-design process have enabled us to create model, which would allow the utilisation of global digital platforms for SSEs in the global south. This article takes the idea of a critical approach to sustainable fashion and applies it to the practices of clothing designers and seamstresses in the Kallio neighborhood of Helsinki, Finland. These practices are described by the umbrella term “sustainable fashion.” The main questions are how do clothing designers and seamstresses practice sustainable fashion, what challenges do they face, and how do they interpret these challenges. The article offers an empirical definition of “sustainable fashion,” discusses innovative practices of sustainable fashion design in an urban context, considers the tensions within this production concept, and examines ways in which designers address and resolve such tensions. With the rise in entrepreneurship and the challenges entrepreneurs have to face, their psychological well-being gets affected. Personality factors have been seen to impact psychological well-being. This relationship is also mediated by other contributing factors. The present study was undertaken to determine the relationship between the big five personality traits and psychological well-being of entrepreneurs along with the mediating effect of psychological capital on the personality psychological well-being relationship. A sample of 124 entrepreneurs operating in the city of Mumbai was selected for the purpose. Data was collected using the survey method and correlation, regression and mediation analysis were performed to analyze the data. Results indicated personality traits and psychological capital are significantly positively related to psychological well-being of entrepreneurs. Psychological capital mediates the personality well-being relationship. Implications for educational and training purposes are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present research seeks to establish the effect psychological capital can have on psychological well-being of small-scale entrepreneurs. For this purpose, a sample of 124 entrepreneurs, from the city ofMumbai were selected. Data was collected using the survey method and was analyzed using the correlation and regression analysis method. Results indicated that psychological capital and psychological well-being have a significant positive relationship such that developing psychological capital can enhance the level of psychological well-being. The core construct of psychological capital was shown to have a greater impact of well-being than each of its components individually.
