CeCu 6− x Au x is known as a heavy fermion compound that exhibits antiferromagnetism for x ≳ 0 . 1 and non-Fermi-liquid (NFL) behavior around the critical concentration x c ≈ 0 . 1 . Although this material has been studied by means of a lot of experiments, the origin of its NFL is still veiled in mystery. In this study, we examine the magnetic properties of CeCu 6− x Au x for various values of x ( 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.8 ), and discuss the possibility that the quantum valence criticality might be responsible for the low-temperature magnetic properties.
