BACKGROUND RESULT CONCLUSION Plant‐based beverages have recently seen a significant increase in market demand. However, many of these products suffer from poor emulsion stability and low protein content. Gums have commonly been used to enhance emulsion stability but they do not improve the amino acid profile. This study investigated the use of multiples plant proteins to enhance both the stability and nutritional value of plant‐based beverages.Pea and rice bran proteins both enhanced emulsion stability. Pea protein enhanced the viscosity of the continuous phase whereas rice bran protein lowered interfacial tension. When applied synergistically, competitive adhesion occurred. Rice bran protein gradually displaced pea protein from the oil droplet surface as its concentration increased, leading to emulsion destabilization due to the displaced pea protein. The use of high‐pressure homogenization further enhanced the stability of the emulsion by unfolding protein partially. However, increasing homogenization pressure (>500 Bar) and homogenization cycle (>2 cycles) led to protein aggregation due to excessive exposure of its hydrophobic core. The emulsion formed was resistant to coalescence at 4 °C for 28 days and was stable under high pH and low ionic conditions.The synergistic combination of plant proteins and the effective utilization of co‐processing (homogenization) can enhance the functionality of the individual proteins significantly, leading to the formation of a stable emulsion. The use of plant protein mixture as a stabilizer not only improved the emulsion stability but also ensured a plant‐based beverage with a complete amino acid profile for the vegan community. © 2024 The Author(s). Background: For the treatment of coronoid process fractures, medial, lateral, anterior, anteromedial, and posterior approaches have been increasingly reported; however, there is no general consensus on the method of fixation of coronal fractures. Here, we present a highly-extensile minimally invasive approach to treat coronoid process fractures using a mini-plate that can achieve anatomic reduction, stable fixation, and anterior capsular repair. Further, the study aimed to determine the complication rate of the anterior minimally invasive approach and to evaluate functional and clinical patient-reported outcomes during follow-up. Methods: Thirty-one patients diagnosed with coronoid fractures accompanied with a "terrible triad" or posteromedial rotational instability between April 2012 and October 2018 were included in the analysis. Anatomical reduction and mini-plate fixation of coronoid fractures were performed using an anterior minimally invasive approach. Patient-reported outcomes were evaluated using the Mayo Elbow Performance Index (MEPI) score, range of motion (ROM), and the visual analog score (VAS). The time of fracture healing and complications were recorded. Results: The mean follow-up time was 26.7 months (range, 14–60 months). The average time to radiological union was 3.6 ± 1.3 months. During the follow-up period, the average elbow extension was 6.8 ± 2.9° while the average flexion was 129.6 ± 4.6°. According to Morrey's criteria, 26 (81%) elbows achieved a normal desired ROM. At the last follow-up, the mean MEPI score was 98 ± 3.3 points. There were no instances of elbow instability, elbow joint stiffness, subluxation or dislocation, infection, blood vessel complications, or nerve palsy. Overall, 10 elbows (31%) experienced heterotopic ossification. Conclusion: An anterior minimally invasive approach allows satisfactory fixation of coronoid fractures while reducing incision complications due to over-dissection of soft tissue injuries. In addition, this incision does not compromise the soft tissue stability of the elbow joint and allows the patient a more rapid return to rehabilitation exercises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The optimal timing of performing ICSI on immature oocytes for POSEIDON patients is still unknown to get better early embryonic development outcomes. The purpose of this study was to implore the most appropriate time to carry out ICSI on in vitro maturation GV and MI oocytes for POSEIDON patients. Methods: Two hundred thirty-nine immature oocytes from 163 POSEIDON patients were prospectively performed ICSI at different timings: P-ICSI (ICSI was performed on in vitro matured oocytes 4–6 h after the first polar body extrusion, N = 81), R-ICSI (ICSI was performed on in vitro matured oocytes less than 4 h after the first polar body extrusion, N = 80), and E-ICSI (ICSI was performed on in vitro matured oocytes the next day after oocytes retrieval, N = 78). Fertilization and embryonic development outcomes were collected and statistically analyzed. Mitochondria distribution of cytoplasm of in vitro matured oocytes with different time cultures after the first polar body (PB1) extrusion was stained. Results: Compared to the E-ICSI group, more day 3 embryos from P-ICSI became blastocysts after sequential culture though without statistical significance (OR = 3.71, 95% CI: 0.94—14.63, P = 0.061). Compared to the E-ICSI group, more embryos from both P-ICSI and R-ICSI groups were clinically used with statistical significance (OR = 5.67, 95% CI: 2.24—14.35, P = 0.000 for P-ICSI embryos; OR = 3.23, 95% CI: 1.23—8.45, P = 0.017 for R-ICSI embryos). Compared to the E-ICSI group, transferred embryos from P-ICSI and R-ICSI had a higher implantation rate though without statistical significance (35.3% for P-ICSI embryos; 9.1% or R-ICSI embryos and 0% for E-ICSI embryos, P = 0.050). Among the three group, there were most healthy babies delivered from the P-ICSI group (5, 1 and 0 for P-ICSI, R-ICSI and E-ICSI respectively). The mitochondria in the cytoplasm of in vitro matured oocytes with a less than 4 h and 4–6 h culture after PB1 extrusion presented semiperipheral and diffused distribution patterns, respectively. Conclusions: Our results revealed P-ICSI (ICSI was performed on in vitro matured oocytes 4–6 h after the first polar body extrusion) provided the most efficient method to utilize the immaturation oocytes basing on embryos utilization and live birth outcome for low prognosis patients under the POSEIDON classification. Background: Psychiatric patients are susceptible to adverse mental health impacts during COVID-19, but complex interplays between psychopathology and pandemic-related variables remain elusive. This study aimed to investigate concomitant associations between psychopathological symptoms, psychological measures and COVID-19 related variables in Chinese psychiatric patients during the peak of fifth pandemic wave in Hong Kong. Methods: We employed network analysis to investigate inter-relationships among psychopathological symptoms (including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder-like [PTSD-like] symptoms, insomnia, psychotic symptoms), cognitive complaints, health-related quality of life, loneliness, resilience and selected pandemic-related factors in 415 psychiatric outpatients between 28 March and 8 April, 2022. Network comparisons between genders, diagnosis (common mental disorders [CMD] vs. severe mental disorders [SMD]), and history of contracting COVID-19 at fifth wave were performed as exploratory analyses. Results: Our results showed that anxiety represented the most central node in the network, as indicated by its highest node strength and expected influence, followed by depression and quality of life. Three comparatively strong connections between COVID-19 and psychopathological variables were observed including: fear of contagion and PTSD-like symptoms, COVID-19 stressor burden and PTSD-like symptoms, and COVID-19 stressor burden and insomnia. Network comparison tests revealed significant network structural difference between participants with history of contracting COVID-19 and those without, but showed no significant difference between genders as well as between CMD and SMD patients. Conclusions: Our findings suggest the pivotal role of anxiety in psychopathology network of psychiatric patients amidst COVID-19. Pandemic-related variables are critically associated with trauma/stress and insomnia symptoms. Introduction: Chondrocyte apoptosis as a prominent characteristic is usually accompanied by cartilage degeneration in osteoarthritis (OA). Herein, we aimed to determine the roles of miR-149-5p in tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-induced chondrocyte apoptosis. Material and methods: Human chondrocytes were cultured with TNF-α to establish an apoptosis cell model in vitro. After transfection with miR-149- 5p mimics or co-expression with TRADD in chondrocytes, cell viability, apoptosis, inflammatory cytokines, mRNA and protein expression were measured using CCK8, Annexin V-FITC double staining, ELISA assays, RT-qPCR and western blotting, respectively. Results: TNF-α-induced chondrocyte apoptosis occurred in association with the inhibition of cell proliferation, the elevation of inflammatory cytokine levels and the activation of TRADD and caspase-3/8 signaling. The post-transcriptional regulatory mechanism suggested that TRADD was a direct target of miR-149-5p, and overexpression of miR-149-5p resulted in the down-regulation of TRADD protein expression in chondrocytes. In addition, miR-149-5p mimics had the ability to attenuate TNF-α-induced inflammation and apoptosis, while transfection with TRADD vector neutralized the protective effects of miR-149-5p on TNF-α-induced chondrocyte dysfunction. Conclusions: miR-149-5p inversely regulated TNF-α-mediated chondrocyte damage by inhibiting TRADD-modulated caspases signaling. Objective To investigate the positive rate of HBsAg and HBsAb in the population born during 2004 and 2022 in Jiangxi Province. Methods By using stratified cluster sampling method, venous blood samples were collected from 8 126 people born after 2004 from 2016 to 2022 in 11 districts and cities of Jiangxi Province, and the sera were separated. HBsAg and HBsAb were detected by Elisa method, and the positive rate was calculated. The chi-square test was used to analyze the difference of positive rate among different groups. Results The positive rates of HBsAg and HBsAb among people born during 2004 and 2022 in Jiangxi Province were 1.40% and 74.92%, respectively. The positive rates of HBsAg in males and females were 1.14% and 1.80%, respectively (x²=6.18, P=0.013) and the positive rates of HBsAb were 75.55% and 74.00%, respectively x²= 2.51, P=0.113). The positive rates of HBsAg were 1.17%, 1.31%, 2.14%, and 3.12% (f=13.49, P=0.004) at the age of 4, 9, 14, and 15 to 18 years, respectively, and the positive rates of HBsAb were 85.65%, 60.26%, 50.04%, and 46.42%, respectively (x²= 9.90, P < 0.001). The positive rates of HBsAg and HBsAb in urban and rural areas were 1.62% and 1.14% (x²=11.99, P=0.001), 74.18% and 75.81%, respectively (!2=2.83, P=0.095). The positive rates of HBsAg and HBsAb in people born before and after 2012 were 2.18% and 1.14%, 52.18%, and 82.28%, respectively (f=7.64, P < 0.001). The positive rate of HBsAg in 11 districts and cities was between 0.45% and 2.79% (x²=37.18, P < 0.001), and the positive rate of HBsAb was between 69.88% and 84.30% (x²=65.61, P < 0.001). Conclusion The positive rate of HBsAg among the people born during 2004 and 2022 in Jiangxi Province is low, and the prevention and control of hepatitis B is effective. Congenital craniofacial abnormalities are congenital anomalies of variable expressivity and severity with a recognizable set of abnormalities, which are derived from five identifiable primordial structures. They can occur unilaterally or bilaterally and include various malformations such as cleft lip with/without palate, craniosynostosis, and craniofacial microsomia. To date, the molecular etiology of craniofacial abnormalities is largely unknown. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), including microRNAs, long ncRNAs, circular RNAs and PIWI-interacting RNAs, function as major regulators of cellular epigenetic hallmarks via regulation of various molecular and cellular processes. Recently, aberrant expression of ncRNAs has been implicated in many diseases, including craniofacial abnormalities. Notably, when utilizing the fluorescently superior building block L2, HOF‐LIFM‐7 and HOF‐LIFM‐8 exhibiting high quantum yields (QY) of 82.1 % and 77.1 %, and ultrahigh two‐photon absorption (TPA) cross‐sections of 148959.5 GM and 123901.1 GM were achieved. These materials were successfully employed in one and two‐photon excited lysosome‐targeting cellular imaging. There is increasing evidence that demographic history and phylogeographic consequences of past climate changes unfolded locally and varied from region to region. Despite the high rodent species diversity and endemism in low latitude Asia, how they have responded to the past climatic fluctuations remains unexplored. In the present study, we trapped 253 murine individuals and sequenced their mitochondrial COI gene sequence. A total of ten species belonging to five genera were recognized through phylogenetic analyses. The results of divergence time estimation showed that the most common ancestors for all recognized species occurred in the Pleistocene. Signals of demographic expansion were detected in six species by at least one test and the events of sharp population size increase occurred asynchronously among species. The demographic expansion during the glaciation periods was corroborated by the expanded suitable distributional areas predicted by ecological niche modelling. The diversified demographic histories of rat communities in low-latitude Asia suggested that species might have responded to past regional environmental changes in an individualistic way. It is widely acknowledged that granite residual soil (GRS) is highly structured and water-sensitive due to the interparticle bonding of free iron oxides (FIOs). To further understand the effects of drying and wetting (D-W) cycles and the content of FIOs on the mechanical responses of GRS, a series of tests were presented to reveal the microstructure characteristics and mechanical behaviors of GRS under different D-W cycles (0, 1, 2, 4). The particle size distribution (PSD) curve exhibited evident bimodal peaks by the dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis, then changed to single peak curve after the D-W cycles or the removal of FIOs. Quantitatively investigated by the dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate (DCB) method, the content of FIOs in GRS showed a decreasing trend but finally tended to be a stable value after the D-W cycles. Due to the intrinsically cemented structure, GRS presented complicated shear behaviors in response to D-W cycles. A phase transition was clearly observed in the stress-strain relationship of the soil. The GRS at 60 kPa which is undergoing the 0th and 1st D-W cycles exhibited weak strain-hardening type, but it would transform into the strain-softening state after the 2nd D-W cycle. The yield stress reached a maximum value at the 2nd cycle and then decreased with the subsequent D-W cycles. Similarly, cyclic D-Ws resulted in obvious increase in the small-strain stiffness, especially in the 1st cycle. The complicated mechanical properties of GRS are characterized by coupling effects among the irreversible volume deformation and the content of collodion and the development of microcracks. Background: Our experience with the surgical flip-dislocation of the bicolumnar (SFDB) approach for type AO 13C3 humeral fractures indicates that this surgical approach can be performed safely and effectively in appropriately selected patients. We aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of the SFDB approach without olecranon osteotomy (OO) for type AO 13C3 distal humeral fractures. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 65 cases of type AO 13C3 distal humeral fractures treated between April 2008 and July 2018; 33 patients were treated with the SFDB approach, and the remaining were treated with OO. Propensity score matching was used to control for sex, age, and the American Society of Anesthesiology score. Elbow pain, range of motion, stability, and function were assessed using the Mayo Elbow Performance Index (MEPI) and the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand questionnaire. Clinical complications, reoperation rates, and radiographic results were compared between the groups. Results: Operative time and blood loss were significantly lower in the SFDB group than in the OO group (P = 0.001, P = 0.002, respectively). At the final follow-up, the mean postoperative MEPI did not significantly differ between the groups (P = 0.628). According to Morrey's criteria, a typical functional range of elbow motion was achieved in 12 and 15 patients in the SFDB and OO groups, respectively. Conclusions: The SFDB approach achieves superior exposure of the articular surface without injury to the extensor mechanism in type 13C3 articular surface fracture treatment. Background: We aimed to develop an accurate model to predict live birth for patients receiving in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) treatment. Methods: This is a prospective nested case–control study. Women aged between 18 and 38 years, whose body mass index (BMI) were between the range of 18.5–24 kg/m2, who had an endometrium of ≥ 8 mm at the thickest were enrolled from 2018/9 to 2020/8. All patients received IVF-ET treatment and were followed up until Jan. 2022 when they had reproductive outcomes. Endometrial samples during the window of implantation (LH + 6 to 9 days) were subjected to analyze specific endometrial receptivity genes' expression using real-time PCR (RT-PCR). Patients were divided into live birth group and non-live birth group based on IVF-ET outcomes. Clinical signatures relevant to live birth were collected, analyzed, and used to establish a predictive model for live birth by univariate analysis (clinical model). Specific endometrial receptivity genes' expression was analyzed, selected, and used to construct a predictive model for live birth by The Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) analysis (gene model). Finally, significant clinical factors and genes were used to construct a combined model for predicting live birth using multivariate logistical regression (combined model). Different models' Area Under Curve (AUC) were compared to identify the most predictive model. Results: Thirty-nine patients were enrolled in the study, twenty-four patients had live births, fifteen did not. In univariate analysis, the odds of live birth for women with ovulation dysfunction was 4 times higher than that for women with other IVF-ET indications (OR = 4.0, 95% CI: 1.125 − 8.910, P = 0.018). Age, body mass index, duration of infertility, primary infertility, repeated implantation failure, antral follicle counting, ovarian sensitivity index, anti-Mullerian hormone, controlled ovarian hyperstimulation protocol and duration, total dose of FSH/hMG, number of oocytes retrieved, regiment of endometrial preparation, endometrium thickness before embryo transfer, type of embryo transferred were not associated with live birth (P > 0.05). Only ovulation dysfunction was used to construct the clinical model and its AUC was 0.688. In lasso analysis, GAST, GPX3, THBS2 were found to promote the risk of live birth. AUCs for GAST, GPX3, THBS2 reached to 0.736, 0.672, and 0.678, respectively. The gene model was established based on these three genes and its AUC was 0.772. Ovulation dysfunction, GAST, GPX3, and THBS2 were finally used to construct the combined model, reaching the highest AUC (AUC = 0.842). Conclusions: Compared to the single model, the combined model of clinical (Ovulation dysfunction) and specific genes (GAST, GPX3, THBS2) was more accurate to predict live birth for IVF-ET patients. Recurrent implantation failure (RIF) is a challenging scenario from different standpoints. This study aimed to investigate its correlation with the endometrial metabolic characteristics. Transcriptomics data of 70 RIF and 99 normal endometrium tissues were retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. Common differentially expressed metabolism-related genes were extracted and various enrichment analyses were applied. Then, RIF was classified using a consensus clustering approach. Three machine learning methods were employed for screening key genes, and they were validated through the RT-qPCR experiment in the endometrium of 10 RIF and 10 healthy individuals. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves were generated and validated by 20 RIF and 20 healthy individuals from Peking University People's Hospital. We uncovered 109 RIF-related metabolic genes and proposed a novel two-subtype RIF classification according to their metabolic features. Eight characteristic genes (SRD5A1, POLR3E, PPA2, PAPSS1, PRUNE, CA12, PDE6D, and RBKS) were identified, and the area under curve (AUC) was 0.902 and the external validated AUC was 0.867. Higher immune cell infiltration levels were found in RIF patients and a metabolism-related regulatory network was constructed. Recent research has shown that visual–text pretrained models perform well in traditional vision tasks. CLIP, as the most influential work, has garnered significant attention from researchers. Thanks to its excellent visual representation capabilities, many recent studies have used CLIP for pixel-level tasks. We explore the potential abilities of CLIP in the field of few-shot segmentation. The current mainstream approach is to utilize support and query features to generate class prototypes and then use the prototype features to match image features. We propose a new method that utilizes CLIP to extract text features for a specific class. These text features are then used as training samples to participate in the model's training process. The addition of text features enables model to extract features that contain richer semantic information, thus making it easier to capture potential class information. To better match the query image features, we also propose a new prototype generation method that incorporates multi-modal fusion features of text and images in the prototype generation process. Adaptive query prototypes were generated by combining foreground and background information from the images with the multi-modal support prototype, thereby allowing for a better matching of image features and improved segmentation accuracy. We provide a new perspective to the task of few-shot segmentation in multi-modal scenarios. Lake ecosystems are extremely sensitive to nitrogen growth, which leads to water quality degradation and ecosystem health decline. Nitrogen depositions, as one of the main sources of nitrogen in water, are expected to change under future climate change scenarios. However, it remains not clear how nitrogen deposition to lakes respond to future meteorological conditions. In this study, a source-oriented version of Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) Model was used to estimate nitrogen deposition to 263 lakes in 2013 and under three RCP scenarios (4.5, 6.0 and 8.5) in 2046. Annual total deposition of 58.2 Gg nitrogen was predicted for all lakes, with 23.3 Gg N by wet deposition and 34.9 Gg N by dry deposition. Nitrate and ammonium in aerosol phase are the major forms of wet deposition, while NH 3 and HNO 3 in gas phase are the major forms of dry deposition. Agriculture emissions contribute to 57% of wet deposition and 44% of dry deposition. Under future meteorological conditions, wet deposition is predicted to increase by 5.5% to 16.4%, while dry deposition would decrease by 0.3% to 13.0%. Changes in wind speed, temperature, relative humidity (RH), and precipitation rates are correlated with dry and wet deposition changes. The predicted changes in deposition to lakes driven by meteorological changes can lead to significant changes in aquatic chemistry and ecosystem functions. Apart from future emission scenarios, different climate scenarios should be considered in future ecosystem health evaluation in response to nitrogen deposition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The rapid development of photochromic devices has stimulated great enthusiasm for the design and preparation of luminescent materials. Introducing fluorescent powder ZnS:Cu into the cross‐linked polymer matrix is an efficient and simple method to obtain photochromic materials with excellent comprehensive performance. However, the traditional method is to directly introduce fluorescent powder into the polymer matrix by physical mixing. This not only increases the internal defects of the polymer and reduces the mechanical properties, but also hinders the fluorescent powder from absorbing external energy and reduces its luminescence efficiency. In addition, few studies have focused on recyclable photochromic luminescent materials. Inspired by dynamic covalent cross‐linking technology, this paper first modified fluorescent powder with 3‐mercaptopropionic acid and then introduced it into epoxy silicone rubber to prepare recyclable luminescent elastomer. Compared with traditional physical blending, the mechanical properties and luminescence performance of the covalently bonded luminescent elastomer were improved. Excellent mechanical properties and luminescence performance were maintained in multiple recycling processes. A comprehensive understanding of phylogeography requires the integration of knowledge across different organisms, ecosystems, and geographic regions. However, a critical knowledge gap exists in the arid biota of the vast Asian drylands. To narrow this gap, here we test an "out-of-Central Asia" hypothesis for the desert scorpion Mesobuthus mongolicus by combining Bayesian phylogeographic reconstruction and ecological niche modeling. Phylogenetic analyses of one mitochondrial and three nuclear loci and molecular dating revealed that M. mongolicus represents a coherent lineage that diverged from its most closely related lineage in Central Asia about 1.36 Ma and underwent radiation ever since. Bayesian phylogeographic reconstruction indicated that the ancestral population dispersed from Central Asia gradually eastward to the Gobi region via the Junggar Basin, suggesting that the Junggar Basin has severed as a corridor for Quaternary faunal exchange between Central Asia and East Asia. Two major dispersal events occurred probably during interglacial periods (around 0.8 and 0.4 Ma, respectively) when climatic conditions were analogous to present-day status, under which the scorpion achieved its maximum distributional range. M. mongolicus underwent demographic expansion during the Last Glacial Maximum, although the predicted distributional areas were smaller than those at present and during the Last Interglacial. Development of desert ecosystems in northwest China incurred by intensified aridification might have opened up empty habitats that sustained population expansion. Our results extend the spatiotemporal dimensions of trans-Eurasia faunal exchange and suggest that species' adaptation is an important determinant of their phylogeographic and demographic responses to climate changes. Our society's appetite for ultra-high bandwidth communication networks and high-power optical sources, together with recent breakthroughs in mode multiplexing/demultiplexing schemes, forced the photonics community to reconsider the deployment of nonlinear multimode systems. These developments pose fundamental challenges stemming from the complexity of nonlinear mode-mode mixing by which they exchange energy in the process towards an equilibrium Rayleigh-Jeans (RJ) distribution. Here we develop a universal one-parameter scaling theory for the relaxation rates of out-of-equilibrium excitations towards their RJ thermal state. The theory predicts an exponential suppression of the rates with increasing disorder due to the formation of stable localization clusters resisting the nonlinear mode-mode interactions that tend to separate them. For low optical temperatures, the rates experience a crossover from linear to nonlinear temperature dependence which reflects a disorder-induced reorganization of the low frequency eigenmodes. Our theory will guide the design of nonlinear multimode photonic networks with tailored relaxation-scales. We demonstrate the analogous phenomenon of quantum Many-Body Localization in disordered nonlinear multimode photonic circuits with intricate mode-mode interactions. Objectives: More people with dementia live in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) than in high‐income countries, but best‐practice care recommendations are often based on studies from high‐income countries. We aimed to map the available evidence on dementia interventions in LMICs. Methods: We systematically mapped available evidence on interventions that aimed to improve the lives of people with dementia or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and/or their carers in LMICs (registered on PROSPERO: CRD42018106206). We included randomised controlled trials (RCTs) published between 2008 and 2018. We searched 11 electronic academic and grey literature databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, CINAHL Plus, Global Health, World Health Organization Global Index Medicus, Virtual Health Library, Cochrane CENTRAL, Social Care Online, BASE, MODEM Toolkit) and examined the number and characteristics of RCTs according to intervention type. We used the Cochrane risk of bias 2.0 tool to assess the risk of bias. Results: We included 340 RCTs with 29,882 (median, 68) participants, published 2008–2018. Over two‐thirds of the studies were conducted in China (n = 237, 69.7%). Ten LMICs accounted for 95.9% of included RCTs. The largest category of interventions was Traditional Chinese Medicine (n = 149, 43.8%), followed by Western medicine pharmaceuticals (n = 109, 32.1%), supplements (n = 43, 12.6%), and structured therapeutic psychosocial interventions (n = 37, 10.9%). Overall risk of bias was judged to be high for 201 RCTs (59.1%), moderate for 136 (40.0%), and low for 3 (0.9%). Conclusions: Evidence‐generation on interventions for people with dementia or MCI and/or their carers in LMICs is concentrated in just a few countries, with no RCTs reported in the vast majority of LMICs. The body of evidence is skewed towards selected interventions and overall subject to high risk of bias. There is a need for a more coordinated approach to robust evidence‐generation for LMICs. Chlorophyll degradation and anthocyanin biosynthesis, which often occur almost synchronously during fruit ripening, are crucial for vibrant coloration of fruits. However, the interlink point between their regulatory pathways remains largely unknown. Here, 2 litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) cultivars with distinctively different coloration patterns during ripening, i.e. slow-reddening/stay-green "Feizixiao" (FZX) vs rapid-reddening/degreening "Nuomici" (NMC), were selected as the materials to study the key factors determining coloration. Litchi chinensis STAY-GREEN (LcSGR) was confirmed as the critical gene in pericarp chlorophyll loss and chloroplast breakdown during fruit ripening, as LcSGR directly interacted with pheophorbide a oxygenase (PAO), a key enzyme in chlorophyll degradation via the PAO pathway. Litchi chinensis no apical meristem (NAM), Arabidopsis transcription activation factor 1/2, and cup-shaped cotyledon 2 (LcNAC002) was identified as a positive regulator in the coloration of litchi pericarp. The expression of LcNAC002 was significantly higher in NMC than in FZX. Virus-induced gene silencing of LcNAC002 significantly decreased the expression of LcSGR as well as L. chinensis MYELOBLASTOSIS1 (LcMYB1), and inhibited chlorophyll loss and anthocyanin accumulation. A dual-luciferase reporter assay revealed that LcNAC002 significantly activates the expression of both LcSGR and LcMYB1. Furthermore, yeast-one-hybrid and electrophoretic mobility shift assay results showed that LcNAC002 directly binds to the promoters of LcSGR and LcMYB1. These findings suggest that LcNAC002 is an important ripening-related transcription factor that interlinks chlorophyll degradation and anthocyanin biosynthesis by coactivating the expression of both LcSGR and LcMYB1. SnO 2 -based nanocomposites are reliable sensors to detect hydrogen leakage and satisfy safety protocols. Although the hydrogen detection response (HDR) of these sensors has been deeply studied in the laboratory, there are no models to estimate this parameter. Consequently, this study uses three machine learning classes (i.e., gene expression programming, support vector regression, and artificial neural network) to calculate the HDR of pure and Ag-, Co-, Pd-, Pt-, and Ru-decorated SnO 2 nanostructures. These models only need nanocomposite chemistry and operating conditions to estimate the HDR of SnO 2 -based sensors. Comparing these models' performance by the ranking analysis and spider-graph indicates the multilayer perceptron neural network is superior to the other models. This model shows the highest accuracy (regression coefficient = 0.9882, average absolute deviation = 2.74, and root mean squared errors = 8.05) for estimating the HDR of SnO 2 -based sensors. Purpose: The study aims to observe the spontaneous remission of posterior vitreous detachment (PVD)-type vision degrading myodesopsia (VDM) during long-term follow-up. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed VDM patients with PVD type that refused any treatment. The ratio and time of significant spontaneous remission of floater symptoms occurring were described. The associated factors with significant remission of floater symptoms were analyzed in the univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. Results: In total, 179 patients with VDM were assessed. The mean age of all patients was 60.56 ± 0.47 years old, and the mean duration of follow-up was 23.89 ± 6.63 months. Of the patients, 40.78% have significant improvement in their floater symptoms after mean 16.55 ± 10.63-month follow-up. Myopia (OR = 0.280, 95% CI = 0.084–0.932, P = 0.038), the number of floaters > 3 (OR = 0.343, 95% CI = 0.172–0.683, P = 0.002), and floaters with string-like pattern (OR = 0.370, 95% CI = 0.166–0.824, P = 0.015) and blocky pattern (OR = 0.299, 95% CI = 0.090–0.993, P = 0.049) were negatively correlated with the significant spontaneous remission of VDM symptoms in the multiple binary logistic regression analysis. Conclusions: Approximately 40% of VDM patients with PVD may experience significant spontaneous remission during long-term follow-up. Patients that are non-myopic and with fewer floaters are more likely to feel relief from VDM symptoms. Floaters with string-like or blocky patterns are less likely to undergo spontaneous remission. Under the strategies of low-carbon and environmental protection, promoting green technology innovation to achieve carbon neutrality in the construction field has become a universal goal. As the building material with the highest consumption, concrete has gradually begun to transform into a multi-functional and intelligent product. Therefore, the research on carbon fiber-reinforced cement-based composites (CFRCs) is of relative interest. It mainly uses carbon fibers (CFs) with high elasticity, strength, and conductivity to disperse evenly into the concrete as a functional filler, to achieve the intelligent integration of concrete structures and function innovatively. Furthermore, the electrical conductivity of CFRC is not only related to the content of CFs and environmental factors but also largely depends on the uniform dispersion and the interfacial bonding strength of CFs in cement paste. This work systematically presents a review of the current research status of the enhancement and modification mechanism of CFRC and the evaluation methods of CF dispersion. Moreover, it further discusses the improvement effects of different strengthening mechanisms on the mechanical properties, durability, and smart properties (thermoelectric effect, electrothermal effect, strain-sensitive effect) of CFRC, as well as the application feasibility of CFRC in structural real-time health monitoring, thermal energy harvesting, intelligent deformation adjustment, and other fields. Furthermore, this paper summarizes the problems and challenges faced in the efficient and large-scale applications of CFRCs in civil engineering structures, and accordingly promotes some proposals for future research. This study presents the results of investigation on thermal conductivity anisotropy of a typical kind of thinly interbedded rock, i.e., banded magnetite quartzite. Influence mechanism of main factors on the thermal conductivity anisotropy were studied through experimental and numerical approaches. Using optical scanning technique, distributed thermal conductivity on the sample surface was obtained through a series of parallel scanning lines. Based on the measured distributed thermal conductivity graphs, effects of the spatial location and geometric size of the analysis subdomain on the thermal conductivity anisotropy were investigated. The results indicated that local anisotropy factors calculated based on subdomains with different spatial locations show significant heterogeneous characteristics. The spatial inhomogeneity of anisotropy is mainly influenced by local variations of mineral bands thickness, visible fissure development and its orientation relation with bedding planes. With the increase of geometric size of analysis subdomain, the dispersion degree of the local anisotropy factors gradually reduced. Based on thermal contact theory, a finite element model was established to simulate the thermal conduction processes of thinly interbedded rocks and its anisotropic characteristics. The numerical model was calibrated based on the experimental results. Sensitivity analysis was performed to investigate the effects of main model parameters on the thermal conductivity anisotropy. Background: Roots are essential for plant growth and have a variety of functions, such as anchoring the plant to the ground, absorbing water and nutrients from the soil, and sensing abiotic stresses, among others. OsERF106MZ is a salinity-induced gene that is expressed in germinating seeds and rice seedling roots. However, the roles of OsERF106MZ in root growth remain poorly understood. Results: Histochemical staining to examine β-glucuronidase (GUS) activity in transgenic rice seedlings harboring OsERF106MZp::GUS indicated that OsERF106MZ is mainly expressed in the root exodermis, sclerenchyma layer, and vascular system. OsERF106MZ overexpression in rice seedlings leads to an increase in primary root (PR) length. The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) is thought to act as a hidden architect of root system structure. The expression of the ABA biosynthetic gene OsAO3 is downregulated in OsERF106MZ-overexpressing roots under normal conditions, while the expression of OsNPC3, an AtNPC4 homolog involved in ABA sensitivity, is reduced in OsERF106MZ-overexpressing roots under both normal and NaCl-treated conditions. Under normal conditions, OsERF106MZ-overexpressing roots show a significantly reduced ABA level; moreover, exogenous application of 1.0 µM ABA can suppress OsERF106MZ-mediated root growth promotion. Additionally, OsERF106MZ-overexpressing roots display less sensitivity to ABA-mediated root growth inhibition when treated with 5.0 µM ABA under normal conditions or exposed to NaCl-treated conditions. Furthermore, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP)-qPCR and luciferase (LUC) reporter assays showed that OsERF106MZ can bind directly to the sequence containing the GCC box in the promoter region of the OsAO3 gene and repress the expression of OsAO3. Conclusions: OsERF106MZ may play a role in maintaining root growth for resource uptake when rice seeds germinate under salinity stress by alleviating ABA-mediated root growth inhibition. In this study, tin nanoparticles were green synthesized using the aqueous extract of Calendula officinalis. Different techniques such as FE-SEM, XRD, FT-IR, and EDS analysis were used to characterize SnNPs@ C. officinalis. A 21.87 nm was obtained for the crystal size of the tin nanoparticles using XRD analysis. The FE-SEM images show a spherical morphology for SnNPs@ C. officinalis with a range size of 21.63–64.07 for the synthetic nanoparticles. The anti-breast cancer effects of biologically synthesized SnNPs@ C. officinalis against breast cancer cell lines were assessed. The anti-breast cancer properties of the SnNPs@ C. officinalis could significantly remove the MCF7, Hs 319.T, and MCF10 cancer cell lines in a time and concentration-dependent manner by MTT assay. The antioxidant activity of SnNPs@ C. officinalis was determined by the DPPH method. The SnNPs@ C. officinalis showed the highest antioxidant activity according to the IC50 value. With the increasing demand for food foaming, how to enhance the foaming properties of protein has gradually become the research focus. This work studied the effect of synephrine (SY) on foaming properties, structure properties, and physicochemical properties of soybean protein isolate (SPI). When the mass ratio of SY to SPI was 1:2, compared with SPI alone, the foam capacity and foam stability of the SY-SPI complex were significantly enhanced. Optical microscopy and confocal laser scanning microscope showed that the improvement in foaming performance was mainly due to the reduction of bubble size and uniform protein distribution. Circular dichroism spectrum and fluorescence spectra indicated that the hydrogen bond of SPI was destroyed and blue shifted with the addition of SY. What's more, the absolute value of Zeta potential, solubility, and hydrophobicity all increased, while the particle size decreased. As a result of molecular docking, surface hydrogen bonds, Van der Waals forces and hydrophobic interactions are the main driving forces. The addition of SY and SPI improved the specific volume and texture of angel cake. As the problem of global warming continues to intensify, carbon-free fuel ammonia is crucial for internal combustion engines, and a potential ammonia combustion route is dual-fuel mode. The impact of various injection rate shapes (trapezoid, wedge, slope, triangle, and rectangle) on engine combustion and emissions performance with 0 %, 20 %, and 40 % ammonia energy fractions were estimated. Under the identical ratio of the ammonia-doped schemes, the fuel injection gross mass and fuel injection duration are the same. The results indicate that the triangle injection rate shape can make the mixture of diesel and ammonia gas more uniform, leading to combustion in the combustion chamber closer to homogeneous combustion. When the injection shape is the triangle, the indicated mean effective pressure in the cylinder is the highest at 10.29 bar, which is 4.04 % higher than that of the pure diesel original injection shape. The triangle injection shape makes the ammonia-diesel dual fuel burn more concentrated, resulting in lower unburned ammonia loss and higher thermal efficiency. Under the 40 % ammonia energy fraction and triangle injection shape, the highest thermal efficiency reaches 40.57 %, 1.58 % higher than the pure diesel original injection shape. Additionally, it significantly reduces unburned ammonia emissions. The injection rate shapes have a minor impact on CO 2 emissions. The rapid increase in-cylinder average temperature can substantially reduce N 2 O emissions, thereby lowering total greenhouse gas emissions. Among them, the total greenhouse gas emissions of 40 % ammonia energy fraction and triangle injection shape are the lowest, at 81619 ppm, which is 11.3 % lower than that of pure diesel original injection shape. On the contrary, it will increase NOx emissions. Background. The microenvironment of bone defects displayed that M2 polarization of macrophagocyte could promote the osteoblast growth and benefit the wound healing. Bone scaffold transplantation is considered to be one of the most promising methods for repairing bone defects. The present research was aimed at constructing a kind of novel bone scaffold nanomaterial of MSN@IL-4 for treating bone defects responding to the wound microenvironment of bone defects and elucidating the mechanics of MSN@IL-4 treating bone defect via controlling release of IL-4, inducing M2 polarization and active factor release of macrophagocyte, and eventually relieving osteoblast injury. Methods. MSN@IL-4 was firstly fabricated and its release of IL-4 was assessed in vitro. Following, the effects of MSN@IL-4 nanocomplex on the release of active factors of macrophage were examined using Elisa assay and promoting M2 polarization of the macrophage by immunofluorescence staining. And then, the effects of active factors from macrophage supernatant induced by MSN@IL-4 on osteoblast growth were examined by CCK-8, flow cytometry, and western blot assay. Results. The release curve of IL-4 in vitro displayed that there was more than 80% release ratio for 30th day with a sustained manner in pH 5.5. Elisa assay data showed that MSN@IL-4 nanocomplex could constantly promote the release of proproliferative cytokine IL-10, SDF-1α, and BMP-2 in macrophagocyte compared to only IL-4 treatment, and immunofluorescent image showed that MSN@IL-4 could promote M2 polarization of macrophagocytes via inducing CD206 expression and suppressing CD86 expression. Osteoblast injury data showed that the supernatant from macrophagocyte treated by MSN@IL-4 could promote the osteoblast proliferation by MTT assay. Flow cytometry data showed that the supernatant from macrophagocyte treated by MSN@IL-4 could suppress the osteoblast apoptosis from 22.1% to 14.6%, and apoptosis-related protein expression data showed that the supernatant from macrophagocyte treated by MSN@IL-4 could suppress the expression of Bax, cleaved caspase 3, and cleaved caspase 8. Furthermore, the immunofluorescent image showed that the supernatant from macrophagocyte treated by MSN@IL-4 could inhibit nucleus location of p65, and western blot data showed that the supernatant from macrophagocyte treated by MSN@IL-4 could suppress the phosphorylation of IKK and induce the expression of IκB. Conclusion. MSN@IL-4 could control the sustaining release of IL-4, and it exerts the protective effect on osteoblast injury via inducing M2 polarization and proproliferative cytokine of macrophagocyte and following inhibiting the apoptosis and NF-κB pathway-associated inflammation of osteoblast. The green internet of things with heterogeneous communication technologies can provide data transmission and computing services for low‐carbon operation of smart buildings. However, latency‐sensitive task offloading in smart buildings for multi‐mode green internet of things still faces several challenges such as coupling between multi‐mode channel and multiple gateway selection, diversified quality of service requirement guarantee, and contradiction of long‐term performance guarantee and short‐term optimisation objectives. To address these challenges, a three‐dimensional quota matching‐based latency‐sensitive task offloading algorithm is proposed to minimise the weighted difference between energy consumption and throughput under the long‐term queuing delay constraints. Specifically, the minimisation problem is decoupled by Lyapunov optimisation. The three‐dimensional quota matching among devices, gateways, and channels is employed to solve the conflicts between gateway selection and channel selection. Finally, the three‐dimensional quota matching is converted to a two‐side quota matching to further reduce complexity and solved iteratively. Numerical results demonstrate that compared with H3CG and MMCS, the proposed algorithm improves the weighted difference between energy consumption and throughput by 21.85% and 27.91%, respectively, and reduces the sensor‐side average queuing delay by 30.82% and 16.83%, and gateway‐side average queuing delay by 16.57% and 26.71%, respectively. Multi‐mode green internet of things (IoT) network that integrates multiple communication media can well meet data transmission and processing demands of low‐carbon smart building. However, network resource management optimisation including joint optimisation of gateway and channel selection still faces technical challenges such as differentiated quality of service (QoS) demand guarantee, coupling between optimisation problems with different timescales, and adversary caused by multi‐device competition. Specifically, the minimisation problem of weighted difference between energy consumption and throughput under the long‐term queuing delay constraints is formulated to achieve differentiated QoS guarantee. Large‐timescale gateway selection is decoupled from small‐timescale channel selection by establishing matching preferences based on empirical performance, and optimised by using bilateral matching with quota. Finally, an exponential‐weight algorithm for exploration and exploitation (EXP3)‐based small‐timescale channel selection algorithm is proposed to achieve adversary awareness. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with asynchronous greedy matching algorithm and auction‐based many‐to‐many matching algorithm, the proposed algorithm performs superior in terms of energy consumption and throughput. Reducing fat intake from our daily diet serves to be an effective way to combat the rising obesity issue worldwide. Hence, reducing fat content in mayonnaise, a high fat food product, is one of the primary trends in the food industry. To date, research on the use of nanocellulose, a new and emerging form of fat mimetic, in mayonnaise formulation remains limited. This study sets out to formulate reduced fat 5%, 15%, and 30% mayonnaise using varying concentration of nanocellulose synthesized from palm pressed fiber followed by a 20‐day stability study. Nanocellulose was synthesized with particle size of 106.0 ± 18.7 nm and zeta potential of −72.5 ± 2.26 mV. It was used as fat mimetic in mayonnaise. Rheological analysis conducted showed that incorporation of nanocellulose into reduced fat mayonnaise formulation was able to counteract the loss of viscosity in mayonnaise caused by fat content reduction. This finding was further supported by the smaller oil droplets that are closely packed in reduced fat mayonnaise formulation when viewed under light microscope. Nonetheless, significant oil droplet coalescence was found in reduced fat mayonnaise formulations during storage period which could lead to loss of viscosity. Taken together, these findings suggest that CNF was able to act as fat mimetic upon formulation of mayonnaise but the same cannot be said during long term storage of mayonnaise. Practical Application: We successfully isolated nanocellulose from palm biomass (palm pressed fiber) using green approach and used it as a fat replacer for preparation of 5%, 15%, and 30% reduced fat mayonnaise. A computation study revealed a strong binding affinity of the nanocellulose on the lipase active site essential to inhibit the digestion of fats and oils. Gout as a common inflammatory arthritis seriously affects the quality of life of a large number of people. Targeting NLRP3 inflammasome has been certified as a promising therapeutic strategy for gout. This study, a series of new imidazolidinone derivatives were validated as NLRP3 inhibitors by scaffold hopping from the reported NLRP3 inhibitor CSC-6. In contrast to the poor physicochemical properties of the template molecule, the representative compound 23 showed good plasma stability, water solubility, and no significant inhibitory toxicity to CYP450 enzymes. Surface plasmon resonance and immunoblotting experiments showed that compound 23 binds NLRP3 and inhibits NLRP3 activation. Finally, compound 23 showed good anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects in acute peritonitis and arthritis. Overall, the present study provides NLRP3 inhibitors with favorable pharmacological properties, which may not only serve as a tool molecule for studying NLRP3-related functions, but also may further facilitate the gout treatment. With the growing call for low-carbon and environmentally friendly materials, recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) holds great promise for sustainable development. Nevertheless, significant challenges exist with respect to the material's poor flexural carrying capacity. Development of an effective method for improving the flexural carrying capacity of RAC under a specific deflection deformation is important for enhancing the range of its structural applications. In this study, an intelligent structural optimisation strategy for compounding RAC with carbon-fibre (CF) reinforced cement-based composites (CFRCs) to realize rapid self-reinforcement via electro-thermal actuation is proposed. As a smart component, CFRC was first researched to investigate its electrical, mechanical, and microscopic properties. The optimal properties were obtained in specimens incorporating 0.5 vol%, CFRC 0.5. CFRC 0.5 exhibits an electrical resistivity of approximately 0.39 Ω∙m, accompanied by 65.3 % and 33 % increases in flexural and compressive strengths, respectively, when compared to the control mixture without CF. Furthermore, CFRC 0.5 can maintain outstanding stability after multiple electro-thermal cycles. Analysis via microscopic characterisation revealed that a satisfactory conductive network can be formed at 0.5 vol% CF. Furthermore, CFs with excellent dispersity are particularly advantageous in improving the mechanical biting force within the cement matrix and restraining the further formation and expansion of microcracks. Thus CFRC 0.5 was designed and fabricated as a pre-stress controller to realise rapid structural self-reinforcement, resulting in a 38.6 % improvement in the flexural carrying capacity of the RAC under specific midspan deflection conditions. Additionally, a response behaviour model for midspan deflection with temperature differential was established, showing an excellent correlation between the experimental results and theoretical simulation. This findings from this study highlight the significance of leveraging intelligent techniques to realise rapid self-reinforcement capabilities in concrete structures, facilitating their potential application in smart and adaptive structures. Thermosetting epoxy resins with high strength, high toughness, and recyclability are strongly sought after, but due to crosslinked structure, balancing strength and toughness and achieving degradation and reprocessing of resins is a challenge. Enhancing strength without compromising toughness during designing recyclable epoxy resin is a challenging task. Herein, a solution is demonstrated where isofluorodioxanone diisocyanate (IPDI), Poly (propylene glycol) bis(2-aminopropyl ether) (D230), and naturally occurring vanillin synthesized a novel imine-functionalized epoxy monomer (IDV-EP), and cured with diamino-diphenylmethane (DDM), 2-(4-aminophenyl)-1H-benzimidazol-5-amine (APBIA) and 4, 4-diamino benzoyl triphenylamine (DABA), respectively, for the purpose of building different contents of the sacrificial hydrogen-bonding clusters (SHBC) in topological network structures. As the hydrogen-bonding (H-bonding) binding energy of the crosslinked network increases, the strength and toughness of the resin were increased concurrently, SHBC was demonstrated to be a feasible method to achieve the strength-toughness trade-off of thermosets, in which IDV-EP-DABA illustrated a tensile strength of 90 MPa, an elongation at break of 16.5%, as well as toughness of 9.73 MJ/m3, which was higher than that of the ordinary bisphenol A-type epoxy thermosetting resin (DGEBA/DDM) by 1.8, 3.7 as well as 6.7 times, respectively. Furthermore, the covalent adaptive networks (CANs) formed by imine bonds provide the resins with effective capabilities for swift degradation (rapid degradation in acid/solvent, room temperature and static conditions) and reprocessing (only a slight decrease in the mechanical properties after hot pressed at 180°C/10 MPa for 15 minutes) , showcasing promising prospects for sustainable utilization. As a low-cost, carbon-free, and widely available hydrogen carrier fuel, ammonia has now regained peoples' attention in the future development of the carbon-neutral engine. To evaluate the feasibility of ammonia as a carbon-reducing fuel for a high-power diesel engine, a computational fluid dynamics simulation model of a Caterpillar 3401 diesel engine has been established and validated. Initially, an analysis was conducted to examine the effects of different ammonia energy fractions on combustion and the generation of emissions. Subsequently, to address issues related to incomplete ammonia combustion and a decline in engine power performance, a novel fuel injection strategy was developed. This strategy optimizes the distribution of diesel within the combustion chamber and the combustion process of ammonia-diesel dual-fuel by coordinating the injection timing of diesel fuel with the injection angle. The results indicate that an ammonia energy fraction of 40% is deemed to be an optimal mixing ratio for ammonia addition. Compared with pure diesel mode, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by 34.3%, and the indicated mean effective pressure is only reduced by 4% when the ammonia energy fraction is 40%. Collaborative optimization of fuel injection timing and angle can achieve multi-point pilot ignition, shorten the combustion duration, and thus approach the effect of premixed combustion. This leads to a substantial decrease in unburned ammonia emissions, with the optimal unburned ammonia emission injection scheme registering only 0.279 g/kW·h, a mere 1.63% of the emissions under the original injection scheme with a 40% ammonia energy fraction. Cool temperatures improve the color of certain fruit crops by promoting chlorophyll degradation and anthocyanin accumulation. However, the molecular mechanism that underpins improved coloring in response to chilling is elusive. In consistent with the significant enhanced chlorophyll degradation in response to chilling, key genes associated with chlorophyll degradation such as LcSGR , LcNYC , LcPPH and LcPAO , were either unaltered or down-regulated. Conversely, a violaxanthin de-epoxidase gene (VDE) and a serine/threonine-protein kinase (TAO1-B), both of which are involved in the inhibition of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, were found to be substantially downregulated in response to chilling. Under cool temperature treatment, there was an outbreak of superoxide anion in the pericarp, and treatment with a free radical inducer (20 mg L−1 methylviologen) resulted in enhanced chlorophyll degradation. These findings suggested that the effect of cool temperatures in chlorophyll degradation may be associated with ROS damage rather than transcription. In addition, enhanced anthocyanin accumulation was associated with activation of anthocyanin-related genes under cool temperature. LcDREB2C , a chilling-induced CBF/DREB transcription factor, was identified as a key gene regulating anthocyanin accumulation at cool temperatures. LcDREB2C overexpression promoted anthocyanin accumulation, whereas silencing it displayed the opposite effect, coinciding with the significant changes in the expression of key anthocyanin-related genes. LcDREB2C was found to directly bind to the promoters of LcMYB1 , LcCHI , and LcF3H in Y1H, dual luciferase, and EMSA assays. Pesticides are indispensable in today's agriculture. Methyl-parathion hydrolase (MPH, E.C.3.1.8.1) could hydrolyze organophosphorus pesticides, including methyl-parathion. MPH could rehabilitate soil and water resources contaminated by organophosphorus pesticides. However, natural MPHs generally exhibited a low tolerance to high temperatures and low catalytic efficiency. In this study, we improved the catalytic efficiency toward methyl-parathion and the thermal stability of the MPH from Pseudomonas sp. WBC-3 through saturation mutagenesis and fusion with self-assembling amphipathic peptides (SAP). The experimental characterization showed that compared to the wild-type enzyme, the kcat/Km of the mutant T271S yielded by saturation mutagenesis was increased by 224.3% compared to the wild-type MPH. T50 and Tm of SAP3-MPH with an SAP fused at the N-terminus were increased by 6.2°C and 6.0°C, respectively. Compared to the wild-type enzyme, T271S fused with SAP3 at the N-terminus (SAP3-T271S) exhibited a 2.1-fold increase in kcat/Km without significantly affecting the thermal stability. The simultaneous improvement of the catalytic efficiency and thermal stability of MPH would be beneficial for its application in the degradation and detection of organophosphorus pesticides. Introduction. Many studies have shown that embryo density has an impact on day-3 embryo-developmental outcomes; however, embryo density remains controversial in clinical practice. We aimed to evaluate the association between embryo density and day-3 embryo-developmental outcomes in real world with the largest sample size. Methods. In 2018, we identified 10941 day-3 embryos from all female patients (n = 1568) in the study. The embryos were allocated to three embryonic densities: 30 μl/embryo (individual culture), 15 μl/embryo, and 10 μl/embryo (group culture). The primary outcomes were cleaving speed, quality, and proportion of successful implantations. The generalized estimate equation (GEE) model was used both in the univariate analysis and multivariable logistic regression analyses to investigate the relationship between embryo density and embryo-developmental outcomes. Results. There were 3064, 5695, and 2182 embryos in the 30 μl/embryo group, 15 μl/embryo group, and 10 μl/embryo group, respectively. The proportions of 7–10 cell embryos were 57.2%, 56.1%, and 58.3% in three densities with no statistical significance (P = 0.37), respectively. The proportions of morphologically good embryos were 20%, 20.3%, and 20% in three densities with no statistical significance (P = 0.85), respectively. Proportions of implanted embryos were 37.7%, 37.1%, and 27.8% with no statistical significance (P = 0.36), respectively. After adjustment for confounders, which were significant in the univariate analysis, the embryo density was still not associated with day-3 embryo-cleaving speed, day-3 embryo quality, and day-3 embryo-implanting potential (all P > 0.05). Conclusion. In a 30 μl microdrop, the culturing embryos with embryo densities of 15, 10, and 30 μl/embryo (from zygotes to day 3) had similar developmental outcomes. The development of selenium‐enriched food is one of the most effective ways to acheive selenium supplementation. However, the selenium content in selenium‐enriched food is unstable, and the selenium in the food needs to be incorporated into glutathione peroxidase (GPx) by the human body before it can exert its antioxidant activity. Herein, a selenium‐enriched cassava starch (Se‐ca‐starch80) with immediate antioxidant activity is synthesized by the successive esterification and selenation of cassava starch. The characterizations such as proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) indicate that the reactions mainly occur on the surface of starch and do not destroy the starch skeleton significantly. Such Se‐ca‐starch80 with selenium content of 9.44 µg g–1 reveals a remarkable antioxidant activity (the initial rate of the catalytic reaction, v0 > 10 µmol L–1 min–1) due to the cooperation of catalytic centers, substrate recognition sites, and hydrophobic microenvironments. Similar to the natural GPx, the Se‐ca‐starch80 is non‐cytotoxic and shows a saturation kinetic catalytic behavior. Background: In recent years, among patients with chronic cerebral artery occlusion, recanalization can be achieved by an endovascular operation. However, complications and restenosis rates remain high.Objective: To evaluate the utility of high-resolution C-arm CT (Dyna micro-CT) for stent placement in patients with chronic cerebral artery occlusion.Methods and Materials: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of 27 patients with chronic cerebral artery occlusion who underwent mechanical recanalization and stent implantation. Images were reconstructed using conventional C-arm CT (Dyna CT) and Dyna micro-CT. Whether the stent was fully expanded and image quality was evaluated. Follow-up assessments included clinical and angiographic outcomes and complications.Results: Twenty-two patients successfully underwent stenting (22 stents; 14 cases: Neuroform EZ; eight cases: Enterprise); stenting failed in five patients. Compared to Dyna CT, Dyna micro-CT afforded improved visualization of the stent structure, providing significantly improved image quality (P < 0.05). In seven patients, the stent under-expanded and dilatation was performed; thereafter, stent malapposition improved. One patient experienced sudden headache 22 hours after the procedure; CT showed intraparenchymal hemorrhage. The remaining 21 patients did not have acute thrombosis or bleeding complications and were followed up by imaging for 3-6 months. In three patients, digital subtraction angiography showed mild in-stent stenosis.Conclusions: High-resolution C-arm CT can improve visualization of stent structures in chronic cerebral artery occlusion, making it easy to determine the extent of stent deployment and potentially reduce complications and stent restenosis. Raman spectroscopy (RS) has attracted significant attention for the analysis of cementitious materials owing to its remarkable spatial and spectral resolution, which enable the precise investigation of chemical bonds, mineral phases, and microstructures. This review focuses on applications of RS for characterizing cement clinker compositions, monitoring hydration processes, and detecting durability issues, with a particular focus on advancements in quantitative analysis and imaging techniques in recent years. The featured Raman vibration bands are summarized, which are useful for the identification of calcium silicate‐related substances. The current technical limitations of RS for investigating cementitious materials are discussed, and potential approaches to overcome these limitations are proposed. The technological innovations in RS will further enhance its efficacy and applicability for investigations of cementitious materials, thus facilitating a comprehensive understanding of the life cycle of cement across various scales of interest. Transition metal chalcogenides quantum dots (TMCs QDs) demonstrate emerging potential in solar energy conversion owing to marvelous physicochemical properties, such as quantum size effect, large extinction coefficient, and multiple excitons generation. Nevertheless, TMCs QDs as photosensitizers are unstable owing to high surface energy, and moreover, substantial trap states of TMCs QDs annihilate the photo-induced charge carriers, thus resulting in ultra-short charge lifetime and inferior photoactivities. Herein, 0D/2D TMCs QDs/MXene heterostructures were designed by a ligand-initiated electrostatic self-assembly strategy, wherein positively charged TMCs QDs were anchored on the negatively charged ultrathin Ti 3 C 2 T x nanosheets (NSs) framework, which promotes the anisotropic unidirectional electron transport from TMCs QDs to MXene NSs. MXene functions as an effective charge mediator to decrease the charge recombination and prolong the charge lifetime for photocatalytic hydrogen generation and anaerobic reduction of nitroaromatics to amino compounds under visible light irradiation. Study Question: What is the relationship between mitochondria of granulosa cells (GCs) and age and ovarian function in the patients under the POSEIDON classification?Summary Answer: Our results revealed obvious abnormal mitochondrial-related changes in low prognosis IVF population, where age and the function of ovarian reserve exerted a divergent effect on mitochondrial content and function.What Is Known Already: Mitochondria have an important role in the cross-talk between GCs and oocytes. However, factors affecting mitochondria of GCs and related mechanisms are still poorly understood.Study Design, Size, Duration: GCs samples were obtained from 119 infertile women undergoing IVF from September 2020 to February 2021. Six groups were investigated by the POSEIDON stratification: young with normal prognosis (C1), aging with normal prognosis (C2), young and low prognosis group with normal ovarian reserve (NOR) (G1), aging and low prognosis group with NOR (G2), young and low prognosis group with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) (G3), and aging and low prognosis group with DOR (G4).Participants/materials, Setting, Methods: The morphology of GC mitochondria was observed by transmission electron microscopy. MtDNA copy number and mitochondrial replication-related genes were detected by real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR). Mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and cytosolic reactive oxygen species (ROS) were detected by confocal microscopy. Cellular glycolysis and aerobic respiratory capacity were analyzed by Seahorse XFe96 Analyzer, and related gene expression and protein levels were assessed by qPCR and Western blot.Main Results and the Role Of Chance: Compared to the normal prognosis groups, mitochondrial morphology was impaired in the low prognosis groups, where the young groups (G1, G3) with low prognosis showed phenotypes undergoing oxidative stress (round, vacuolated, swollen with decreased matrix density) and the aging groups (G2, G4) revealed typical aging characteristics (an irregular shape with heterogeneous matrix density and cord-like cristae). Additionally, the degree of corresponding change and damage was more obvious in patients with DOR (G3, G4) regardless of age. For mitochondrial content, the mtDNA copy number in GCs was significantly negatively correlated with age in the low prognosis groups (β = -0.373, P = 0.005). Interestingly, the relationship between mtDNA copy number and anti-Mullerian hormone score differed between the two age groups with low prognosis, with a negative correlation in the young groups (β = -0.639, P = 0.049) and a positive correlation in the aging groups (β = 0.505, P = 0.039). In addition, significantly reduced mitochondrial activity (MMP, ROS) and cell metabolism (both glycolysis and OXPHOS) were observed in the low prognosis groups, with the most obvious decrease being observed in the DOR population. However, the metabolism of the GCs in normal prognosis aging women (C2) shifted from OXPHOS to anaerobic glycolysis.Limitations, Reasons For Caution: Owing to the difficulties involved in primary GC collection and culture, the sample size was limited.Wider Implications Of the Findings: Mitochondrial abnormality is closely linked to the low prognostic outcome in IVF patients.
