The article reports on the assessment by Tim Herbert, senior market research director of Consumer Electronics Association, on the digital camera market. According to Herbert, the market can endure a projected decline in sales growth by appealing to the increased number of repeat buyers and keying in on the increasing interest in do-it-yourself photo hobbiests. The growth of the digital still photography should endure during its expected 2008 downturn due to shorter replacement cycles and increasing ranks of repeat buyers. It is estimated that the digital camera market is projected to grow 16 percent in 2006 with 26 million units shipped.
