More medical schools are incorporating wellness activities and the medical humanities into their curriculum. Finding implementable programming that is feasible and enjoyable is challenging. Both student participants and faculty who might facilitate programs are busy with clinical and educational responsibilities. Book club discussions in general are an activity that bring people together and expose groups to literature. In medical education, informal books clubs have been shown to increase camaraderie and expose participants to topics in medicine that they may not have encountered without the structure of the group assignment. At one large private urban medical school, all fourth year medical students were required to participate in a one-time hour-long book discussion with a faculty member one week before Match Day 2021. This paper describes the implementation of that program and discusses survey results from 179 students who broadly indicated that the books were enjoyable, the discussions were enriching, and that the program should continue for future classes of medical students. In his refutation of Marcion, Tertullian argued that Marcion failed to appreciate that Christ, as figured, is present in the Old Testament. Marcion may have similarly denied the presence of Christ, as figured, in the Eucharist. This outcome is expressed in the eucharistic theology of the great eighteenth-century Anglican theologian, Samuel Clarke. Clarke is a harbinger of modern Marcionism because his Old Testament denigration is the product of his specifically Marcionite impulse to excise Christ from the Old Testament. This case report describes the ethical implications of paradoxical lucidity in persons with severe stage dementia. Paradoxical lucidity describes an episode of unexpected communication or connectedness in a person who is believed to be noncommunicative due to a progressive and pathological process that causes dementia. A caregiver who witnesses an event of paradoxical lucidity may experience it as ethically and emotionally transformative. We provide an ethical framework for addressing this event in clinical practice. The framework addresses clinician interactions with the patient, caregiver, and family to improve understanding of paradoxical lucidity and to enhance patient care, caregiver well‐being, and decision‐making. Abstract The city of Yangon is home to over 5 million people, hosts Myanmar's largest port and produces a disproportionate share of national output. But a mobility crisis is undermining the city's economic potential and contributing to a deteriorating quality of life for its residents. The most obvious symptom of this crisis is acute traffic congestion. The proximate causes are clear: growing demand for journeys, a surge in vehicle numbers, a modal shift away from buses, and myriad 'flow disruptions'. However, solving this mobility crisis requires recognizing the underlying causes, including a 'congestion incentive spiral' fuelled by rapid liberalisation of vehicle imports in a context where there are few viable alternatives to buses and private automobiles. This situation is a direct consequence of systematic failures in urban planning, investment and regulation linked to active neglect from successive military regimes and dysfunctional institutional arrangements. To preserve its rich urban heritage, Yangon will need to embrace 21st century integrated planning practices that seek to maximise accessibility and mobility for all people rather than minimise traffic congestion for those who use cars. The miniaturisation of integrated circuits leads to reliability issues such as electromigration (EMG). This well-known phenomenon is checked at design level by CAD tools. The conventional EMG check methods are based on electrical parameters. However, the wire physical degradation depends also on the interconnection network structure. In order to improve the EMG check methodologies, we propose an accurate method based on failure mechanism and chip power grid configuration. Indeed, the power grid offers redundant paths in case of void in main power supply path. The principle of our method is to take into account the contribution of these redundant paths in power grid lifetime assessment. These effects are validated by silicon ageing tests on structures designed in 28 nm Full Depleted Silicon on Insulator (FDSOI). These accelerated tests results have confirmed the lifetime gain due to the redundancy. These results provide perspectives for the relaxation of wire current limits and improve the chip design toward EMG. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Proposes the use of Hilbert transform spectroscopy to analyze the spectrum of pulse trains generated by superconducting rapid single flux quantum (RSFQ) logic circuits. P- and N- channel Extended Drain MOSFETs (EDMOS) are analyzed through its sensitivity to Hot-Carrier (HC) degradation using accelerated lifetime technique. N- and P- channel EDMOS are optimized for a gate-length L G = 0.5 μm, with gate-oxide thickness at 2.3 nm. We have evaluated more precisely the HC damage caused from channel to the extended drain by an improved extraction of series resistance (ΔR SD) till a 2nd order mobility modeling as a function of stressing V GS from V GS = 0 to V Gmax. This allows to determine the worst-case of lifetime dependence in relation to the damage in the drift zone where breakdown sensitivity is found to be intimately bound up with the hot-hole (HH) injection efficiency in N-EDMOS while P-EDMOS exhibits a larger security margin.
