CHRISTIAN life , *SPIRITUALITY , *THEOLOGY , *GOD , *DOCTRINAL theology , *DEVOTION , *HEAVEN ,VATICAN Council (2nd : 1962-1965) - Abstract
The article presents the question of the epistemological justification of spiritual Mariology, also called Marian spirituality; so as to present it in a systematic way as a science, as it pertains, on the one hand, to Mariology, and, on the other, to the field of spiritual theology which needs to be expressed in relation to the experience of faith and Christian life of Mary of Nazareth. Starting from the Mariological renewal brought about by the Second Vatican Council, the author develops the epistemological foundations of spiritual Mariology which, analysing the experience of faith lived by the Blessed Virgin Mary as they appear in the revealed facts and in dogmatic theology, present its spiritual value, either at an exemplary level, as a model for the Church and for the individual Christian, or at the level of mediation and help in achieving the goals of the Christian journey, as Mary intercedes for us with God from heaven. PROPHECY , *LOVE of God , *MESSIAH , *SPIRITUALITY - Abstract
The article presents the biblical foundations of spiritual Mariology explaining the importance of basing the study of the experience of the Virgin Mary's faith on biblical information. In fact, the Scripture describes the story of Mary as the woman loved and chosen by God to become the mother of the Messiah. In both the prophecies of the Old Testament and the evangelical texts of the New Testament, the Virgin Mother of God with us is, nonetheless, a tangible woman, called to the alliance, to service, the disciple of Christ faithful unto the cross, and the Mother of the Church. JOB hunting , *POPES , *CONSOLATION , *ANCHORAGE , *IMMIGRANTS - Abstract
The phenomenon of migration has become a global issue nowadays. The migrants are not only searching for jobs and better life conditions, but also for peace and security. The fate of the migrants is a challenge for the Church. Mary is an inspiration for Church in the process of their reception, protection, promotion, and integration. Mary is an anchorage for the migrants themselves. That is why, in 2020, Pope Francis granted her the title Solacium migrantium ("Solace of Migrants") and ordered to include it within the Litany of Loreto. The aim of this article is to present the theological significance of the title according to Pope Francis. This task is interesting and useful and the more so, as the Pope does not answer directly and exhaustively the following questions: Why is Mary particularly close to the migrants? Which predispositions allow her to comfort them? In what way, exactly, does she do that? This article follows the Pope's statements of various provenances, in order to extract from them the thoughts which make up his understanding of the title. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

THEOLOGIANS , *BIBLICAL criticism , *CHRISTIAN life , *POPES , *PILGRIMS & pilgrimages ,BIBLICAL commentaries - Abstract
The article examines the question of the Mariological interpretation of the eight beatitudes contained in Mt 5:3-10. Christian theologians of all ages, from Clement of Alexandria to the authors of contemporary biblical commentaries, have proposed various interpretations of this biblical text. Among the multitude of interpretations developed throughout history, the Mariological aspect appears quite rarely. Yet, as Pope Benedict XVI observes, the very biblical Marian title "Blessed" should direct the theological thought to the Mariological aspects of this issue. In modern times, a very deep reflection on the subject was conducted by two great theologians of the XX century, J. Ratzinger (Benedict XVI) and H.U. von Balthasar. On the Polish ground, the task was partly undertaken by J. Tischner, who elaborated the theme of eight beatitudes in the key of the Marian pilgrimage of the nation. The present work is meant to deepen the Mariological-biblical analysis of the eight beatitudes and revive the discussion regarding this subject in the perspective proposed by Benedict XVI, to understand the beatitudes as a program of life for a modern Christian. THEOLOGY , *CHRISTIAN literature , *CHRISTOLOGY , *BAPTISM , *GOD in Christianity , *CHARISMA , *DOCTRINAL theology ,VATICAN Council (2nd : 1962-1965) ,CATHOLIC Church doctrines - Abstract
The following research areas of dogmatic theology were developed in the publications that appear in "Collectanea Theologica": the theology of the Divine Mercy, the reflection on time which enriched Christology, the anthropological expression of Marian theology, the concept of personalism as a possible way of theological renewal, and Christian solidarity. Theologians proposed the hypothesis of the baptism of the Church, the theology of the icon, and the concept of a universal Eucharist. Among other questions they discussed the notion of the suffering of God. We can also find an original expression of theology of space, human freedom, and the theology of rest as well as a valuable perspective on the charisma of the theologian. Already in the interwar period, the journal was a place of encounter between the theology of the Christian West and that of the East. Some dogmatists, who published the results of their research in the journal, made the effort of confronting the theological topics with the problems and solutions from other branches of scholarship. Attempts were undertaken to explore thoroughly and interpret specific Christian elements in literature. History was treated as a dynamic reality and a source of inspiration for the contemporary world. The Second Vatican Council had a profound influence on the publications, as it provided a challenge to the adequately understood renewal of Catholic theology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Holy Mary in the fight against Satan. Some notes. The author shows how the inculturation of faith, in the context of Western World or First World, must face the "crisis" that runs through it and shapes it. This is true particularly for Mariology and Demonology: they are linked by delicate and undeniable relations, at the level of theological reflection and concrete experience of the people of God. Both have suffered the consequences of multiple processes of "demythification". But they continue to remain something to be reckoned with, especially if one takes into account the singular and complex phenomenon which is made by Marian apparitions / visions, on the one hand; and the different forms of exorcism, on the other. 10. ... E jazerá em jardim florido: estudo preliminar sobre usos tópicos na representação da Mariologia na música de José Maurício Nunes Garcia.

- Abstract
José Maurício Nunes Garcia's music is a sophisticated manifestation of galant aesthetics in colonial Brazil, especially as it relates to understanding musical composition as a specific form of oratory. Consisting of pre-compositional expressive fields (musical topics), worked in a modular way through the tropifications of its parameters, and having in contrast as expressive game its driving force, its music was in harmony with that of coeval European masters of singular form. Aiming at the exposition of ideas and images by musical metaphors, the composer organized his writing as discourse. The purpose of this text is to present a discursive hypothesis of José Maurício: the marian devotion expressed in a Mariology. Within a society forged on the idea of faith, Mariology has become one of the long-lasting forces of more penetration in the formation of the colonial capital of Western society. In the Portuguese colonies, this devotion became a mediator of mentalities ranging from the justification of patriarchalism to the perspective of freedom of the slave population, through the redemption of oppressive judgment in death. The purpose of this text is to introduce the discussion on the Marian platforms that the musical discourse of José Maurício is inserted. The way of seeking this manifestation would be revealed here by the expressive space that the musical tradition connoted to the representation of Mary: the pastoral. Thus, seeking to observe from the treatment of affections, the topical uses, and their tropifications, as well as contrast strategies, try to justify what could be a manifestation of Mariology, as a conscious discourse of devotion and use of its symbols within a rhetorical articulation for his assertion. - Abstract
Holy Mary in the Scripture and in the Magistery. On two recent studies of mariology. Two members of the Associazione Mariologica Interdisciplinare Italiana propose two major studies about the Virgin. The first one of the monfortan exegete from Abruzzo Alberto Valentini is about the first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke and analyzes the several questions that the Gospel of infancy puts to scholars about the textual criticism, the redaction history, the philological considerations on every sentences or on every words. The second one is a work of the Neapolitan servite friar theologian Salvatore M. Perrella about the history and the theology of the Rosary. It offers an analysis that starts above all from the largest documents of the pontifical Magisterium on Marian prayer. These two volumes represent two examples of how Mariology could disappoint those who would consider it as a simple "appendix" of the theology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Though brief, this article intends to offer a re-reading of the development of Marian dogma and consequent Mariological reflection between the first and second millennia and up to the start of the Second Vatican Council. Divided into two sections, the first part seeks to illustrate the various images of Mary elaborated throughout the centuries to proclaim the mystery, while in the second section, greater attention is given to themes in the history of dogma and to consequences on the level of the knowledge of faith concerning this mystery. - Abstract
The article is about the Mariological thought of Alexander of Hales' Glossa in the Four Books of the Sentences of Peter Lombard. The Master of Hales related Christology closely with Mariology. He emphasized Mary's role in the history of Salvation: the sanctification of Mary in view of the Incarnation and the Annunciation. The dialogue with Angel Gabriel expressed the way the Lord will go to save all of humankind. It accentuated what the Franciscan Master said about the special grace that emphasized by the Lord that Mary is to be the Mother of his Son. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Without limiting reception to the theological reflection only, this article presents the different ways in which the mariology of the Second Vatican Council, and of the eighth chapter of the Lumen gentium [LG] in particular, has been received from the time it was promulgated, half a century ago. The aspects being considered range from the teachings of the pope and of the bishops to the liturgy, to the specialized institutes (centres for the theological study and mariological associations), to the ecumenical perspectives, to the feminist theology and in conclusion some considerations about Mary and the evangelization, with a special attention to the marian popular devotion. At the end of this analysis, that also includes some proposals fostering the return to positions preceding the Second Vatican Council, the Author points out the risk that the reflection on Mary is considered of minor importance with respect to the reflection on faith as a whole: which is perhaps an undesired result of the way the Council dealt with Mary (see the last chapter of the LG), and that should be remedied by the theological reflection and the christian devotion. - Abstract
During an age marked by numerous heretical currents and by an as yet incipient development of Mariology, St. Irenaeus of Lyon, with a sure hand, outlined the sound doctrine concerning the role of the Virgin Mary in the economy of Salvation, for which he is considered, to this day, a great authority on the subject. His doctrine in this respect is clear, profound and established on the best theological tradition of that epoch, particularly the Pauline writings and those of St. Ignatius of Antioch. The present article discusses the principal aspects of his Mariological legacy, especially those developed in his work Adversus haereses. Among these stand out the parallelism between Eve and Mary, the obedience of the Mother of God as reparation for the sin of our first parents, the birth of Christ and the consequent annihilation of the serpent, the warfare between the lineage of the Virgin and that of Satan, and the final triumph of Christ, related to the unblemished fidelity of Mary. HAGIOGRAPHY , *PRIESTS , *DEVIL , *KINGS & rulers - Abstract
The Milagros de Nuestra Señora, by Gonzalo de Berceo, and the Liber Mariae, by Juan Gil de Zamora, are two hagiographies written in Castile the thirteenth century. Its authors were ecclesiastics with a university education, respectively a priest with strong links with the monastic life, and a Franciscan who had relationships with royalty. Their writings show different versions of medieval narratives, where the Virgin and the Devil are represented as a model and anti-behavior model. Using a comparative perspective and considering the historical context of the period, we'll examine the representations of the Devil present in these hagiographies, reflecting about the relationship between his characteristics on terrestrial sites, or in the Beyond, where He manifests himself in these texts. MARIAN apparitions , *MIRACLES ,CATHOLIC Church doctrines - Abstract
In the last centuries, the Marian apparitions have conditioned, at least in practice, some aspects in the life of the Church. In spite of the silence that in theological field has been maintained for a long time, in the last two decades mariologists have started to pay more attention to these extra-ordinary phenomena, and to study them in their proper theological perspective. This paper analyzes, from a theological point of view, and based on the prudent praxis of the Church, the reasonable action in the case of a possible or alleged Marian apparition.
