It is known that rare-earth-based pyrochlore oxide may accommodate the well-defined two-in-two-out spin ice state with its tetrahedral unit. Low-energy excitation is argued to favor the highly concerned monopole state which attracts essential attention. However, such an excitation cannot be directly tracked and imaged using advanced characterizations, raising challenges to our understanding of the physics of monopoles. In this work, we propose an improved two-dimensional artificial spin ice structure on the Shastry–Sutherland lattice to restore the degeneracy of realistic pyrochlore systems. Such a structure avoids the deficiency of inequivalent nearest and next-nearest exchanges in the planar quadrate unit, which, however, is equivalent to the tetrahedral unit of realistic pyrochlore oxides. Therefore, this spin ice model restores state degeneracy that is lost in conventional planar artificial spin ice structures, representing an improved simulator of real spin ice systems. Our careful investigations of such improved structures reveal the rich physics of spin ice excitations, including the phase diagram, which allows different ordered phases and interesting critical phase transitions between spin ice phase I and phase II. Energy spectrum analysis suggests that restoration of state degeneracy substantially reduces monopole excitation energy, resulting in a striking monopole emergency at the critical point. Reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cell (R-PCEC) has demonstrated high potential as an energy storage and conversion device. Efforts have primarily concentrated on the development of oxygen electrodes being to increase their performance and reduce performance degradation. In this work, three perovskite materials, namely Ba 0.9 Co 0.2 Fe 0.7 Nb 0.1 O 3-δ (BCFN), Ba 0.8 La 0.1 Co 0.2 Fe 0.7 Nb 0.1 O 3-δ (BLCFN), and Ba 0.8 La 0.1 Co 0.2 Fe 0.7 Nb 0.1 F 0.1 O 2.9-δ (BLCFNF) are investigated. Both doping with La and co-doping with La and F lead to a notable reduction in the average valence states of Fe, Co, and Nb elements, further resulting in an increase in oxygen vacancy concentration, thereby enhancing the oxygen migration ability of the material. The H 2 O partial pressure does not have a significant impact on the polarization resistance (R p) of the oxygen electrode. Conversely, the rise in R p is highly correlated with the decrease in oxygen partial pressure, suggesting that the primary factor influencing the reaction rate of the oxygen electrode process is the exchange of oxygen ions on the surface of the electrode. BLCFNF exhibits the best oxygen migration and surface exchange ability, resulting in the lowest R p. When BLCFNF was used as the oxygen electrode in a R-PCEC with the humidity air (10%H 2 O) and humidified H 2 (3%H 2 O) as oxidant and fuel, respectively, it exhibits the highest maximum power density of 472 mW cm−2, and a current density of −682.6 mA cm−2 (1.3 V) at 650 °C. In addition, BLCFNF also shows good durability in both discharge and electrolysis process. Reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cell (R-PCEC) is a new energy conversion device that can achieve efficient conversion between chemical energy and electrical energy. However, the oxygen electrode has poor activity towards oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), which hinders the large-scale application of R-PCEC. Therefore, in order to improve the catalytic activity of oxygen electrodes, La 0.5 Sr 0.5 Co 0.2 Fe 0.8 O 3 (LSCF) is prepared using mesoporous silica SiO 2 (SBA-15) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) as templates, and it was combined with BaZr 0.1 Ce 0.7 Y 0.2 O 3-δ (BZCY) to form a composite oxygen electrode for R-PCEC. Compared to the LSCF with solid-state reaction method, LSCF with hard-template method shows higher specific surface area and more oxygen vacancy, resulting in excellent ORR catalytic activity. In addition, LSCF prepared using PMMA as a template exhibits the best ORR catalytic activity, and the single cell with this composite oxygen electrode shows the highest maximum power density of 406 mW cm−2 in fuel cell (FC) mode with wet H 2 (3%H 2 O) and air as the fuel and oxidant, respectively. Additionally, it demonstrates a current density of −973 mA cm−2 at 1.3 V in electrolysis cell (EC) mode with wet air (10%H 2 O) as the oxidant. A two-dimensional porphyrin-MOF nanolayer was developed to construct an electrochemical aptasensor for monitoring oxytetracycline from 0.01 pg mL−1 to 0.1 ng mL−1. Platinum is a key component of ovarian cancer systemic therapy. However, most patients will eventually face a recurrence, leading to chemotherapy resistance, especially against platinum. For individuals with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (PROC), treatment options are limited, and their survival prospects are grim. The emergence of antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) shows promises as a future treatment for PROC. This review synthesizes current research on the effectiveness of ADCs in treating PROC. It encapsulates the advancements and clinical trials of novel ADCs that target specific antigens such as Folate Receptor alpha (FRα), MUC16, NaPi2b, Mesothelin, Dipeptidase 3(DPEP3), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), as well as tissue factor, highlighting their potential anti-tumor efficacy and used in combination with other therapies. Monascus pigments (MPs) have been used as natural food pigments for many years. There is a high demand for Monascus red pigments (MRPs) to enhance color and for antibacterial and cancer prevention therapies in food and medicine. Most MRPs are not water soluble, and the yield of water‐soluble MRPs is naturally low. On the other hand, water‐soluble MRP is more cost effective for application in industrial mass production. Therefore, it is important to improve the yield of water‐soluble MRPs. Environmental factors have a significant influence on the synthesis of water‐soluble MRPs, which is crucial for the development of industrial production of water‐soluble MRPs. This review introduces the biosynthetic pathways of water‐soluble MRPs and summarizes the effects of environmental factors on the yield of water‐soluble MRPs. Acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl‐CoA) is a precursor for MPs synthesis. Carbon and nitrogen sources and the carbon/nitrogen ratio can impact MP production by regulating the metabolic pathway of acetyl‐CoA. Optimization of fermentation conditions to change the morphology of Monascus can stimulate the synthesis of MPs. The appropriate choice of nitrogen sources and pH values can promote the synthesis of MRPs from MPs. Additives such as metal ions and non‐ionic surfactants can affect the fluidity of Monascus cell membrane and promote the transformation of MRPs into water‐soluble MRPs. Objective: A single-center observational study to determine the clinical characteristics and therapeutic dose adjustments in women of reproductive age with infertility and non-classical 21-hydroxylase deficiency (NC-21OHD). Design: A retrospective analysis of 20 women of reproductive age who were diagnosed with NC-21OHD during an infertility evaluation at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from January 2013 to May 2024 was performed. The clinical manifestations, auxiliary examinations, adjustment of glucocorticoid (GC) treatment during preconception and perinatal period, and pregnancy outcomes were analyzed. Results: 14 of 16 patients (87.5%) had inappropriately elevated progesterone levels during the follicular phase. The average levels of 17α-hydroxyprogesterone, testosterone, androstenedione, and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate in the follicular phase were also significantly increased. All 20 infertile patients received GC treatment before preparing for pregnancy. During the follow-up, six of 20 patients had seven conceptions. three patients had spontaneous abortions in the first trimester and four patients delivered babies (4/20). Three patients had a GC dose that was maintained throughout pregnancy and one had an increase in the GC dose starting in the second trimester. Of the remaining 16 patients, seven are still trying to conceive and nine had discontinued treatment. Conclusions: An abnormal increase in the follicular phase progesterone level is the most common serologic marker for NC-21OHD among infertile women. Ovulation can be restored after GC treatment, but the proportion of successful conceptions remains low. The dose of GCs in most pregnant women remained unchanged throughout pregnancy. Students' perception of teachers' mindset beliefs (TMB) is associated with their school engagement (SSE). Based on SSE's contextual-personal interplay, perceived classroom goal structures (CGS) and students' mindset beliefs (SMB) were considered. Data from 1071 high school students were analyzed. The results show that CGS significantly mediated the negative connection between perceived headteachers' fixed mindset beliefs and SSE. Students who perceived headteachers to endorse more fixed mindset beliefs aligned with classroom performance goal structure (PGS) rather than mastery goal structure (MGS) environments, predicted fewer engagements. SMB played a moderated role. The effect of MGS on SSE was much stronger for students with low fixed mindset beliefs, whereas the effect of PGS on SSE was significant only for students with high fixed mindset beliefs. These findings corroborate SSE's development-in-sociocultural-context theory, indicating the value of inculcating growth mindset among teachers, and the fitness of classroom-student motivational systems to improve adolescents' engagement. Objectives Methods Results Conclusions This study investigated the accuracy of robotic computer‐assisted implant surgery (r‐CAIS) for immediate implant placement.Twenty cases with 20 implant sites were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria. The preparation of the implant bed and implant placement followed the standardized dental implant robotic surgery protocol. Postoperative cone‐beam computed tomography scans were conducted to assess possible discrepancies between actual and planned implant positions.The r‐CAIS technology for immediate implant placement exhibited a mean global coronal deviation of 0.71 ± 0.27 mm (95% CI: 0.58–0.83 mm), a mean global apical deviation of 0.69 ± 0.26 mm (95% CI: 0.56–0.81 mm), and an angular deviation of 1.27 ± 0.47° (95% CI: 1.05–1.49°). A substantial number of deviations were observed buccally at both coronal (90%) and apical (95%) levels, with a consistent tendency for buccal deviation.The r‐CAIS technology proved a promising approach for immediate implantation in the anterior region, with satisfactory clinical outcomes. Objective: Diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) encompasses both reproductive and endocrine disorders, resulting in a decline in female fertility. This paper explored the mechanism of Yangjing Zhongyu Decoction (YJZYD) regulating mitochondrial dynamics of ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) to improve DOR. Methods: DOR patients were treated with YJZYD, with ovarian volume (OV), antral follicle count (AFC), and endometrial thickness (EMT) detected. C57BL/6 female mice were treated by cyclophosphamide (Cy) intraperitoneal injection and YJZYD solution daily gavage, with serum anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and estradiol (E2) levels determined. Ovarian GCs (KGN) were interfered with 4-Hydroperoxy-Cyclophosphamide (4-HC) and treated with the MAPK/ERK pathway inhibitor or activator. Results: DOR patients showed increased levels of serum AMH, E2, OV, AFC and EMT, while reduced FSH and LH levels after YJZYD treatment. After Cy induction, DOR mice exhibited irregular estrous cycles, diminished serum AMH and E2 levels, elevated FSH and LH levels, reduced follicle number and atresia follicle number, disorderly arranged GCs, and severe interstitial fibrosis. After 4-HC treatment, KGN proliferation and Bcl-2, MFN1, and MFN2 were suppressed, while apoptotic rate, Bax, Cleaved-caspase-3, and p-Drp1 (Ser616) levels, and mitochondrial fission and quantity increased. YJZYD promoted 4-HC-treated KGN proliferation, boosted mitochondrial fusion, and inhibited apoptosis and mitochondrial fission via the MAPK/ERK pathway. Conclusion: YJZYD promoted ovarian GC proliferation and mitochondrial fusion, suppressed cell apoptosis and mitochondrial fission, and effectively improved DOR in mice by activating the MAPK/ERK pathway, providing a theoretical basis for the clinical application value of YJZYD in DOR treatment. Background: Our research endeavored to develop a robust predictive signature grounded in super-enhancer-related genes (SERGs), with the dual objectives of forecasting survival outcomes and evaluating the tumor immune microenvironment (TiME) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: HCC RNA-sequencing data were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and 365 patients were randomly assigned to training or testing sets in 1:1 ratio. SERGs of HCC were downloaded from Super-Enhancer Database (SEdb). On the basis of training set, a SERGs signature was identified, and its prognostic value was confirmed by internal and external validation (GSE14520) sets. We subsequently examined the model for potential functional enrichment and the degree of tumor immune infiltration. Additionally, we carried out in vitro experiments to delve into the biological functions of CBX2 gene. Results: An SE-related prognostic model including CBX2, TPX2, EFNA3, DNASE1L3 and SOCS2 was established and validated. According to this risk model, patients in the high-risk group had a significantly worse prognosis, and their immune cell infiltration was significantly different from that of low-risk group. Moreover, the high-risk group exhibited a significant enrichment of tumor-associated pathological pathways. The SERGs signature can generally be utilized to screen HCC patients who are likely to respond to immunotherapy, as there is a positive correlation between the risk score and the Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) score. Furthermore, the downregulation of the CBX2 gene expression was found to inhibit HCC cell viability, migration, and cell cycle progression, while simultaneously promoting apoptosis. Conclusions: We developed a novel HCC prognostic model utilizing SERGs, indicating that patients with high-risk score not only face a poorer prognosis but also may exhibit a diminished therapeutic response to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). This model is designed to tailor personalized treatment strategies to the individual needs of each patient, thereby improving the overall clinical outcomes for HCC patients. A novel and facile surface molecularly imprinted polymer coated on magnetic chitosan (Fe3O4@CS@MIP) was fabricated for the selective recognition and enrichment of naringin (NRG). The Fe3O4@CS@MIP was prepared based on covalent–noncovalent synergistic imprinting strategies, utilizing 4‐vinyl phenyl boric acid as covalent functional monomer, deep eutectic solvent (choline chloride/methacrylic acid [ChCl/MAA]) as non‐covalent functional monomer and Fe3O4@CS nanoparticles as the magnetic support. The obtained Fe3O4@CS@MIP exhibited a uniform morphology, excellent crystallinity, outstanding magnetic properties, and high surface area. Owing to the double recognition abilities, the resultant polymer showed exceptional binding performance and rapid mass transfer in phosphate buffer (pH 7.0). The maximum binding amount of Fe3O4@CS@MIP was found to be 15.08 mg g−1, and the equilibrium adsorption could be achieved within 180 min. Moreover, they also exhibited stronger selectivity for NRG and satisfactory reusability, with only 11.0% loss after five adsorption‐desorption cycles. Additionally, the Fe3O4@CS@MIP, serving as an adsorbent, presented practical application potential in the separation and enrichment of NRG from pummelo peel, with extraction efficiency in the range of 79.53% to 84.63%. Background and objectives: This study aimed to assess the utility of Doppler echocardiography in evaluating left ventricular diastolic function, and prognosis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Patients and methods: A total of 286 SLE patients were selected along with 100 age- and gender-matched healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations. Clinical baseline characteristics were collected. Various Doppler echocardiographic parameters were measured and analyzed, including left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWT), interventricular septal diameter (IVSD), left ventricular mass (LVM), LVM index (LVMI), and others. Results: Compared to the control group, SLE patients exhibited significantly higher levels of C-reactive protein and lower levels of complement (C) 3 and C4 (p <.001). Doppler echocardiographic parameters showed significant differences between SLE patients and healthy controls, including increased LVPWT, IVSD, LVM, LVMI, peak A, PWI + Tei, E/e′, TDI-Tei, and decreased e′ and E/A (p <.001). Subgroup analyses indicated more severe ventricular diastolic dysfunction in patients with higher SLE activity and those who experienced cardiovascular events. Correlation analysis revealed positive associations of PWI + Tei, TDI-Tei, and GLS with SLE activity and cardiovascular events (p <.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified LVMI, PWI + Tei, TDI-Tei, and GLS as significant predictors of cardiovascular events (p <.05). Conclusion: Doppler echocardiography is a valuable tool for the early diagnosis of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction in SLE patients. Key echocardiographic parameters, including LVMI, PWI + Tei, TDI-Tei, and GLS, are effective in predicting cardiovascular events, underscoring the importance of comprehensive cardiac function assessments in these patients. Due to the demand for carbon neutrality, concrete carbonation has been reconsidered as an interesting topic because of its potential for capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. Concrete carbonation can significantly modify the chemical and microstructure properties of concrete and thus will have important effects on chloride diffusion. This paper presents a chloride diffusion model in which the concrete cover is divided into three different zones, each with their own defined porosity and chloride binding isotherm. The first is the fully carbonated concrete near the surface, where the porosity and chloride binding isotherm can be obtained from the experimental data of fully carbonated concrete. The second is the uncarbonated concrete near the reinforcement, where the porosity and chloride binding isotherm can be obtained from the experimental data of normal concrete. The third is the transition zone between the fully carbonated and uncarbonated concretes, where the porosity and chloride binding isotherm can be assumed to vary continuously from the carbonated concrete to uncarbonated concrete. To validate the present model, a comparison of the present model with published experimental results is provided, which demonstrates the importance of considering different zones in the chloride diffusion model when the concrete has a carbonated layer near the surface. Infertility is not a fatal disease but it really produces infertility-related stress and affects individuals' quality of life to a great extent. This study aims to investigate the relations among infertility-related stress, negative emotions and quality of life in infertile outpatients, and suppose gender difference as well as Dark Triad, which contained three dark personality traits: Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy, would moderate the relations. 105 infertile outpatients age range 20–49 completed a cross-sectional questionnaire on the Fertility Quality of Life scale, the Fertility Problem Inventory, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale a the Chinese version of Dirty Dozen. Results showed that negative emotions mediated the relations between infertility-related stress and quality of life. Dark Triad could not moderate the relations between infertility-related stress, negative emotions, and quality of life, but gender can moderate the associations between infertility-related stress and negative emotions. Specifically, the association between infertility-related stress and negative emotions was stronger in men than in women. Infertility-related stress has direct and indirect effects on infertile outpatients' quality of life. Genetic variants in genes encoding subunits of the γ-aminobutyric acid-A receptor (GABA A R) have been found to cause neurodevelopmental disorders and epileptic encephalopathy. In a patient with epilepsy and developmental delay, a de novo heterozygous missense mutation c.671 T > C (p.F224S) was discovered in the GABRB2 gene, which encodes the β2 subunit of GABA A R. Based on previous studies on GABRB2 variants, this new GABRB2 variant (F224S) would be pathogenic. To confirm and investigate the effects of this GABRB2 mutation on GABA A R channel function, we conducted transient expression experiments using GABA A R subunits in HEK293T cells. The GABA A Rs containing mutant β2 (F224S) subunit showed poor trafficking to the cell membrane, while the expression and distribution of the normal α1 and γ2 subunits were unaffected. Furthermore, the peak current amplitude of the GABA A R containing the β2 (F224S) subunit was significantly smaller compared to the wild type GABA A R. We propose that GABRB2 variant F224S is pathogenic and GABA A Rs containing this β2 mutant reduce response to GABA under physiological conditions, which could potentially disrupt the excitation/inhibition balance in the brain, leading to epilepsy. Background: Sirolimus is increasingly utilized in treating diseases associated with mTOR pathway overactivation. Despite its potential, the lack of evidence regarding its long-term safety across all age groups, particularly in pediatric patients, has limited its further application. This study aims to assess the long-term safety of sirolimus, with a specific focus on its impact on growth patterns in pediatric patients. Methods: This pooled analysis inlcudes two prospective cohort studies spanning 10 years, including 1,738 participants (aged 5 days to 69 years) diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis and/or lymphangioleiomyomatosis. All participants were mTOR inhibitor-naive and received 1 mg/m²/day of sirolimus, with dose adjustments during a two-week titration period to maintain trough blood concentrations between 5 and 10 ng/ml (maximum dose 2 mg). Indicators of physical growth, hematopoietic, liver, renal function, and blood lipid levels were all primary outcomes and were analyzed. The adverse events and related management were also recorded. Results: Sirolimus administration did not lead to deviations from normal growth ranges, but higher doses exhibited a positive association with Z-scores exceeding 2 SD in height, weight, and BMI. Transient elevations in red blood cell and white blood cell counts, along with hyperlipidemia, were primarily observed within the first year of treatment. Other measured parameters remained largely unchanged, displaying only weak correlations with drug use. Stomatitis is the most common adverse event (920/1738, 52.9%). In adult females, menstrual disorders were observed in 48.5% (112/217). Conclusions: Sirolimus's long-term administration is not associated with adverse effects on children's physical growth pattern, nor significant alterations in hematopoietic, liver, renal function, or lipid levels. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology can reshape music education to enable students to learn musical instruments and compose music in a fun and easy way. This article examines the effectiveness of AI-enabled music teaching. The study seeks to incorporate AI-powered chatbots into piano classes in seven music schools and evaluate their effect on student performance. The results show that students who used the given app achieved better results than those enrolled in conventional classes. Overall, exploiting AI resulted in a 15% increase in academic performance, but the intensity of training led to variation in achievements. With this app, the scores increased as follows: piano playing by 6.51%; solfeggio and music literature by 4%; and vocal signing by 0.56%. Background: Obesity is characterized by excessive fat accumulation, which is related with abnormal pluripotency of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Recently, there is growing evidence that the disorder of maternal vitamin D (VD) intake is a well-known risk factor for long-term adverse health outcomes to their offspring. Otherwise, less is known of its repercussion and underlying mechanisms on the different differentiation potential of MSCs. Methods: Four-week-old female C57BL/6J mice were fed with different VD reproductive diets throughout the whole pregnancy and lactation. The characteristics of BMSCs from their seven-day male offspring, VDR knockdown establishment of HuMSCs and HuMSCs under the different VD interventions in vitro were confirmed by flow cytometry, RT-PCR, and immunofluorescence. The roles of VD on their mitochondrial dysfunction and differentiation potential were also investigated. Then their remaining weaned male pups were induced by administrating high-fat-diet (HFD) for 16 weeks and normal fat diet was simultaneously as controls. Their lipid accumulation and adipocytes hypertrophy were determined by histological staining and related gene expressions. Results: Herein, it was proved that imbalance of early-life VD intake could significantly aggravate the occurrence of obesity by inducing the adipogenesis through affecting the VD metabolism and related metabolites (P < 0.05). Moreover, abnormally maternal VD intake might be involved on the disorders of differentiation potential to inhibit the maintenance of MSCs stemness through increasing the productions of ROS, which was accompanied by impairing the expression of related genes on the adipo-osteogenic differentiation (P < 0.05). Moreover, it was along with increasing potential of adipogenic differentiation of MSCs as higher ROS in the state of VD deficiency, while excessive maternal VD status could conversely enhance the osteogenic differentiation with slightly lower ROS (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the underlying mechanisms might be involved on the mitochondria dysfunctional, especially the mitophagy, by activating the LC3b, P62 and etc. using in vivo and in vitro studies (P < 0.05). Conclusion: These findings demonstrated that imbalance of early-life VD intake could target ROS-mediated crosstalk between mitochondrial dysfunction and differentiation potential of MSCs, which was significantly associated with the later obesity. Immersive virtual reality (IVR) offers significant transformative potential for science education by supporting learning experiences that deeply engage students and improve their understanding of scientific concepts. Despite considerable interest, research on the use of IVR in science education is still in its formative stage. Currently, there is a substantial gap in a tool that can help stakeholders evaluate key elements of immersive software for science education contexts. This research addresses this gap by conceptualising and applying a framework designed to assist educators, researchers, and designers in assessing essential components of an immersive science application. The framework highlights three key components: IVR technological affordances, the exploration of science within IVR, and scientific representations. These components are synthesised into the Immersive Representations Model (IRM). Employing screen capture methodology, we evaluated the application and significance of the IRM. Collision-free path planning and task scheduling optimization in multi-region operations of autonomous agricultural robots present a complex coupled problem. In addition to considering task access sequences and collision-free path planning, multiple factors such as task priorities, terrain complexity of farmland, and robot energy consumption must be comprehensively addressed. This study aims to explore a hierarchical decoupling approach to tackle the challenges of multi-region path planning. Firstly, we conduct path planning based on the A* algorithm to traverse paths for all tasks and obtain multi-region connected paths. Throughout this process, factors such as path length, turning points, and corner angles are thoroughly considered, and a cost matrix is constructed for subsequent optimization processes. Secondly, we reformulate the multi-region path planning problem into a discrete optimization problem and employ genetic algorithms to optimize the task sequence, thus identifying the optimal task execution order under energy constraints. We finally validate the feasibility of the multi-task planning algorithm proposed by conducting experiments in an open environment, a narrow environment and a large-scale environment. Experimental results demonstrate the method's capability to find feasible collision-free and cost-optimal task access paths in diverse and complex multi-region planning scenarios. Background and Aim: The Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) has proposed criteria for the diagnosis of malnutrition. No studies validated the GLIM criteria in acute pancreatitis (AP). The present study aimed to validate the predictive capacity of GLIM criteria for adverse outcomes in AP patients. Patients and Methods: Clinical data of 269 patients with AP were analyzed retrospectively. The Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS2002) was chosen as the screening tool. Multivariate logistic regression analyses evaluated the adverse clinical outcomes in malnourished patients. Results: Overall, 160 patients (59.5%) were at nutritional risk and 38 (14.1%) were malnourished. Reduced muscle mass/ low body mass index + inflammation combinations contributed most to malnutrition overall and in each subgroup. The malnourished group had lower hemoglobin, neutrophils, albumin, total cholesterol, and triglycerides than the well-nourished group. The malnourished group had higher hospitalization costs (CNY, 11319.34 vs 9258.22, p < 0.001) and more local complications (34.2% vs 14.7%, p =0.009) than the well-nourished group. There was an interaction between malnutrition and overweight/obesity on local complications (p for interaction = 0.023). Multivariate logistic regression showed malnutrition was significantly associated with local complications (OR 12.2, 95% CI: 2.51– 59.37), infectious complications (OR 9.95, 95% CI: 1.25– 79.44) and composite adverse outcome (OR 4.78, 95% CI: 1.05– 21.73) in the overweight/obesity subgroup. There was no association between malnutrition and the rate of various adverse outcomes in the non-overweight/obesity subgroup. Additionally, we observed an association between malnutrition and composite adverse outcome (OR 6.75, 95% CI: 1.49– 30.68) in patients < 70 years only in females. Conclusion: Malnourished AP patients were more likely to have adverse outcomes than well-nourished patients. This paper investigates the impact of digital creativity educational practices on the improvement of academic performance and creative thinking development of Chinese high school students. The study defined the importance of the concept of STEM learning in the development of modern skills needed to live and work in a digital socio-economic change caused by the development of Industry 4.0. An educational experiment involving 60 9th grade Chinese students evaluated the impact of digital creativity learning practices on the development of students' creative thinking on such indicators as fluency, flexibility, originality, detailing, and metaphoricity. The impact of digital creative learning practices on the performance of students in the control group and the experimental group was assessed. The analysis of the results of practical research on the impact of digital tools and pedagogical models of learning on the acquisition of students' creative thinking skills was conducted, which proved that the digital environment is the optimal place for students' creative manifestations and provides opportunities to improve creative thinking skills by implementing learning practical activities using innovative tools for the manifestation of digital creative skills. Aims: This study intended to explore the workplace bullying, self‐efficacy and emotional distress of the nursing staff and determine the predictors of nursing staff's emotional distress. Methods: Cross‐sectional and correlation designs were used, collecting data including socio‐demographic data, workplace bullying, self‐efficacy and emotional distress scales. Results: Results showed that the frequency of poor sleep quality in the recent 2 weeks, working in the intensive care centre or emergency room, high workplace bullying and low self‐efficacy were the main predictors of emotional distress in nursing staff. Conclusion: Nursing supervisors are advised to design suitable shift schemes to allow adequate time for nurses to maintain proper rest and develop a safety notification system to give bullied victims the assurance of safety. The design and implementation of the programs are encouraged to improve self‐efficacy among nurses by strengthening the training of social skills, improving employees' communication skills and their relationships with other employees. Lycium ruthenicum Murray (LR) is a medicine and edible plant in Northwest China, and L. ruthenicum Murray anthocyanins (LRA) are green antioxidants with various pharmacological activities, such as antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activities. However, the protective effect and mechanism of LRA against retinal damage induced by blue light exposure are poorly understood. This study explored the protective effects and potential mechanisms of LRA on retinal damage induced by blue light exposure in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that LRA could ameliorate oxidative stress injury by activating the antioxidant stress nuclear factor‐related factor 2 pathway, promoting the expression of phase II detoxification enzymes (HO‐1, NQO1) and endogenous antioxidant enzymes (catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase), and reducing reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde levels. Additionally, LRA could inhibit inflammatory response by decreasing the expression of blue light exposure‐induced nuclear factor‐κB (NF‐κB) pathway‐related proteins (NF‐κB and p‐IκBα), as well as interleukin (IL)‐6, tumor necrosis factor‐α, IL‐1β pro‐inflammatory factors and pro‐inflammatory chemokine VEGF, and increasing the expression of anti‐inflammatory factor IL‐10. Furthermore, LRA could ameliorate oxidative stress‐induced apoptosis by upregulating Bcl‐2 and downregulating Bax and Caspase‐3 protein expression. Two solvent-controlled Cd(II) compounds, formulated as {[Cd2(Htdc)4(µ-imyp)(H2O)4]} (1), [Cd2(µ2-tdc)2(µ-imyp)(DMF)2(H2O)2]n (2) (H2tdc= 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid, imyp = 4-imidazol-1-yl-pyridine and DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) have been synthesized by reactions of Cd(NO3)2·4H2O and H2tdc with imyp in different solvents, respectively. Both compounds were then characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and other physicochemical methods. In 1, partially deprotonated Htdc− anion as terminal ligand and µ-imyp ligand connect Cd2+ ions to generate a discrete structure. In 2, completely deprotonated µ2 – tdc2− anions and µ-imyp ligand link Cd2+ ions into a 1D double chain structure. Both compounds display 3D supramolecular structures through hydrogen bonding interactions. The results provided interesting insights into solvent effects on the structural formation of compounds 1 and 2. In addition, the solid-state photoluminescent properties of compounds 1 and 2 were also investigated. In this paper, we propose a tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) pH sensor based on polyaniline (PANI) reactive deposition film. The micron-scale thickness polyaniline film provides the sensor with good sensitivity, and it achieves measurement of pH values ranging from 2 to 12 by utilizing the pH-responsive mechanism of PANI and the refractive index characteristics of TFBG. Experimental results show that within the 2–12 pH range, the sensitivity of the TFBG surface plasmon resonance pH sensor based on PANI coating is − 0.03815, and results demonstrate, a linear correlation coefficient between wavelength and pH value reaching 0.98719. [Display omitted] β-Elemene (β-ELE), derived from Curcuma wenyujin , has anticancer effect on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the potential target and detail mechanism were still not clear. TFEB is the master regulator of lysosome biogenesis. Ferroptosis, a promising strategy for cancer therapy could be triggered via suppression on glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4). Weather TFEB-mediated lysosome degradation contributes to GPX4 decline and how β-ELE modulates on this process are not clear. To observe the action of β-ELE on TFEB, and the role of TFEB-mediated GPX4 degradation in β-ELE induced ferroptosis. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and molecular docking were applied to observe the binding affinity of β-ELE on TFEB. Activation of TFEB and lysosome were observed by immunofluorescence, western blot, flow cytometry and qPCR. Ferroptosis induced by β-ELE was observed via lipid ROS, a labile iron pool (LIP) assay and western blot. A549TFEB KO cells were established via CRISPR/Cas9. The regulation of TFEB on GPX4 and ferroptosis was observed in β-ELE treated A549WT and A549TFEB KO cells, which was further studied in orthotopic NOD/SCID mouse model. β-ELE can bind to TFEB, notably activate TFEB, lysosome and transcriptional increase on downstream gene GLA, MCOLN1, SLC26A11 involved in lysosome activity in EGFR wild-type NSCLC cells. β-ELE increased GPX4 ubiquitination and lysosomal localization, with the increase on lysosome degradation of GPX4. Furthermore, β-ELE induced ferroptosis, which could be promoted by TFEB overexpression or compromised by TFEB knockout. Genetic knockout or inactivation of TFEB compromised β-ELE induced lysosome degradation of GPX4, which was further demonstrated in orthotopic NSCLC NOD/SCID mice model. This study firstly demonstrated that TFEB promoted GPX4 lysosome degradation contributes to β-ELE induced ferroptosis in EGFR wild-type NSCLC, which gives a clue that TFEB mediated GPX4 degradation would be a novel strategy for ferroptosis induction and NSCLC therapy. Background: Chronic low-grade inflammation may mediate the relationship between obesity and diabetes, yet clinical research in this area remains scarce. Thus, this study aimed to explore the mediating role of chronic low-grade inflammation in this relationship using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Methods: This study involved 2,482 participants enrolled in the NHANES between 2005 and 2016. Based on the complex sampling survey weights of NHANES, logistic regression models were fitted, adjusting for various covariates to investigate the relationship between BMI, INFLA score, and diabetes. Moreover, weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression models were fitted to analyze the proportional contribution of individual components within the INFLA score. Finally, mediation analysis was conducted to quantitatively assess the magnitude of the mediating effect of the INFLA score on the relationship between BMI and diabetes. Results: After adjusting for all potential confounding factors, a significant positive correlation was noted between INFLA score and diabetes [OR (95% CI), 1.038(1.003–1.075), p = 0.035]. Additionally, a significant positive correlation was observed between the high INFLA group and diabetes compared to the low INFLA group [OR (95% CI), 1.599(1.031–2.481), p = 0.037]. WQS regression models revealed that the proportional contributions of C-reactive protein, white blood cell count, platelet count, and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were 55.5%, 34.8%, 8.46%, and 1.19%, respectively. Finally, the results of the mediation analysis indicated that the indirect effect of the INFLA score accounted for 10.20%. Objective: To explore the role of different cells and molecules in the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis (AR) with positive Artemisia allergen by detecting their expression levels. Methods: From January 2021 to December 2022,200 AR patients diagnosed in the Otolaryngology Clinic of Ordos Central Hospital were selected as the AR group, and 50 healthy people who underwent physical examination in the hospital during the same period were randomly selected as the healthy control (HC) group. The levels of GATA-3mRNA, RORγtmRNA and FoxP3mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR). The proportions of Th2, Th17 and Treg cells were detected by flow cytometry. The concentrations of IL-4, IL-5, IL-17 and IL-10 in serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The differences of transcription gene level, immune cell ratio and cytokine concentration between the two groups were analyzed. Results: There was no difference in age and gender between the two groups. The levels of GATA-3mRNA and RORγtmRNA transcription genes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, the percentage of Th2, Th17 and Treg immune cells, the levels of eosinophils and basophils in peripheral blood, the concentrations of IL-4, IL-5, IL-17, IL-10 cytokines and IgE in serum of AR patients were significantly higher than those in HC group (P < 0.05). IL-4 and IL-17 were positively correlated with total IgE level. Conclusion: The secretion of immune cells and cytokines in peripheral blood of AR patients is abnormal. The associated effects of temperature and steel fiber content on the energy absorption properties of concrete were examined using quasi-static uniaxial compression tests of concrete materials with varied steel fiber contents (0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%) at various temperatures (20 °C, 200 °C, 400 °C, and 520 °C). The experimental findings demonstrate that steel fibers can greatly boost concrete's ability to absorb energy and that the toughness index rises with steel fiber concentration. The energy absorption capacity of concrete under high-temperature conditions also significantly decreases as temperature rises, and the energy absorption ability of steel fiber concrete under the same temperature is superior to that of plain concrete. The coupled influence factor K of temperature–steel fiber percentage characterizing the energy-absorbing ability of concrete was determined, and the coupled influence law of temperature and steel fiber content on the energy-absorbing capacity of concrete materials was summarized and analyzed on the basis of the experimental data of high-temperature compression. Equivalent equations for steel fiber reinforcing and temperature weakening effects when they are comparable (K = 1) are developed and equivalent parameters for concrete materials are given. It has implications for promoting equity in the distribution of healthcare resources, which is critical for immigrants' survival and settlement. Moreover, the relationship between healthcare resources and employment quality is equally relevant to developing-country urbanization. Using data from the China Migrants Dynamic Survey (CMDS) from 2016 to 2018, we demonstrate the effect of healthcare resources on employment quality. Cities' healthcare resources are significantly correlated with immigrants' quality of employment. The more healthcare resources are available, the higher the income from work, the shorter the working hours, and the more stable the employment of immigrants. The quality-enhancing effect of healthcare resources on employment quality is substantial among immigrants with health training and medical files. Urban medical insurance has important differentiating implications for immigrants' access to healthcare resources. Healthcare resources enhance the employment quality of immigrants by improving their health status and integration into local society. Promoting equalizing healthcare resources and adjusting the differences between urban and rural medical insurance systems increase immigrant employment quality. In this study, we isolated human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) to find the optimal time of LIPUS stimulation and to explore how LIPUS affects inflammatory and osteogenic responses in hPDLCs in an inflammatory environment. The target molecules of LIPUS were identified by high‐throughput sequencing. RT–qPCR and WB were used to detect how LIPUS affected the expression of related genes in TNFα‐induced inflammation. The expression of ROS and inflammatory factors was detected by flow cytometry. Immunohistochemistry was used to further verify gene expression in rats. hPDLCs were isolated successfully. The optimal LIPUS stimulation condition was 45 mW/cm2 for 30 min and continued for 3 days, and this intensity significantly promoted the osteogenesis and mineralization of hPDLCs. LIPUS significantly inhibited the upregulation of IL‐6 and ROS, increased the percentage of cells in the G2 phase, inhibited cell apoptosis, and inhibited the upregulation of TLR5 expression in an inflammatory environment. LIPUS can effectively restrain the inflammation and oxidative stress response of hPDLCs and promote osteogenesis in an inflammatory environment. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is frequently associated with the occurrence and development of depression, and the co-occurrence of diabetes mellitus with depression (DD) may further reduce patients' quality of life. Recent research indicates that dopamine receptors (DRs) play a crucial role in immune and metabolic regulation. Pramipexole (PPX), a D2/3R agonist, has demonstrated promising neuroprotective and immunomodulatory effects. Nevertheless, the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of action of PPX on DM-induced depression are not clear at present. Depression, DM, and DD were induced in a rat model through a combination of a high-fat diet (HFD) supplemented with streptozotocin (STZ) and chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) combined with solitary cage rearing. The pathogenesis of DD and the neuroprotective effects of DRs agonists were investigated using behavioral assays, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, Nissl staining, Western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). DD rats exhibited more severe dopaminergic, neuroinflammatory, and neuroplastic impairments and more pronounced depressive behaviors than rats with depression alone or DM. Our findings suggest that DRs agonists have significant therapeutic effects on DD rats and that PPX improved neuroplasticity and decreased neuroinflammation in the hippocampus of DD rats while also promoting DG cell growth and differentiation, ultimately mitigating depression-like behaviors. Our study is based on a rat model. Further evidence is needed to determine whether the therapeutic effects of PPX apply to patients suffering from DD. Neuroinflammation mediated by damage to the dopaminergic system is one of the key pathogenic mechanisms of DD. We provide evidence that PPX has a neuroprotective effect on the hippocampus in DD rats and the mechanism may involve the inhibition of NOD-, LRR- and pyrin domain-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome activation by DRs to attenuate the neuroinflammatory response and neuroplasticity damage. Simple algorithms are proposed in this article by using the central rule for the NFE, and the normal derivatives uν$$ {u}_{\nu } $$ of the solutions on the boundary Γ(=∂S)$$ \Gamma \kern0.3em \left(=\partial S\right) $$ can be easily obtained. These algorithms are called the discrete null field equation method (DNFEM) because the collocation equations are, indeed, the direct discrete form of the NFE. The bounds of the condition number are like those by the method of fundamental solutions (MFS) yielding the exponential growth as the number of unknowns increases. One trouble of the DNFEM is the near singularity of integrations for the solutions in boundary layers in Green's representation formulation. The traditional BEM also suffers from the same trouble. To deal with the near singularity, quadrature by expansions and the sinh transformation are often used. To handle this trouble, however, we develop two kinds of new techniques: (I) the interpolation techniques by Taylor's formulas with piecewise q$$ q $$‐degree polynomials and the Fourier series, and (II) the mini‐rules of integrals, such as the mini‐Simpson's and the mini‐Gaussian rules. Error analysis is made for technique I to achieve optimal convergence rates. Numerical experiments are carried out for disk domains to support the theoretical analysis made. The numerical performance of the DNFEM is excellent for disk domains to compete with the MFS. The errors with O(10−4)$$ O\left(1{0}^{-4}\right) $$ can be obtained by combination algorithms, which are satisfactory for most engineering problems. In summary, the new simple DNFEM is based on the NFE, which is different from the boundary element method (BEM). The theoretical basis in error and stability has been established in this article. One trouble in seeking the numerical solutions in boundary layers has been handled well; this is also an important contribution to the BEM. Besides, numerical experiments are encouraging. Cumulative exposures above 500–1000 mg prednisolone are associated with adverse effects, and recently OCS stewardship principles were promulgated to guide OCS prescription. Aims: To examine real‐world registry data to quantify OCS burden, ascertain trends over time in prescription and assess whether opportunities to implement steroid‐sparing strategies were utilised. Methods: Participants were enrolled in the Australasian Severe Asthma Registry for the period 2013–2021. Assessments were taken at enrolment and then annual follow‐up, which included asthma control and OCS use. Descriptive analyses were performed, and subgroups were compared at baseline and over time. Results: Nine hundred and twenty‐four participants were evaluated and 215/924 (23%) were taking maintenance OCS at baseline, with 44% and 32% of participants having exposure to ≥500 or 1000 mg of OCS respectively in the prior year. Twelve months later, an additional 10% and 9% of participants reached cumulative doses of 500 or 1000 mg. People exceeding thresholds had ongoing poor asthma control. At baseline, 240/924 (26%) people were treated with asthma biological therapy. An additional 83 (12%) participants were identified as potentially benefiting from this steroid‐sparing medication. Of these patients, only 23% commenced a biologic agent in the next 12 months. Conclusions: A large national asthma registry identifies exposure to toxic cumulative doses of OCS in more than a third of participants, with further subsequent cumulative dose escalation over 2 years. Using a 2-wave longitudinal design, this study examined the role of school engagement in the association between students' implicit self-theories and internalising and externalising behaviours. A sample of 1 070 Chinese high school students completed surveys on implicit theory of intelligence, school engagement, and internalising (i.e., depression and anxiety) and externalising (i.e., aggressive and delinquent behaviour) problems. The results from structural equation modelling analysis showed that self-theories were positively associated with internalising (i.e., depression and anxiety) and externalising (i.e., aggressive and delinquent behaviour) problems. Moreover, the three dimensions of school engagement (i.e., behavioural, emotional, and cognitive) were mediators between self-theories and internalising problems. Students with implicit self-entity theories exhibit less engagement in behaviour, emotions, and cognition, associated with more internalisation issues. Self-theories were related to externalising problems through the behavioural and cognitive engagement, respectively. Students with implicit self-entity theories exhibit less behaviour and cognition engagement, associated with more externalising behaviours. These results are consistent with Dweck's social-cognitive theory of motivation on the role of the implicit self-theories in adolescents' school engagement and mental health problems. Cryptosporidium infection is a common occurrence in rodents worldwide. In this study, 435 wild brown rats were captured from an animal feedlot in Xinjiang, China, with a fecal sample obtained directly from the rectal contents of each rat. The DNA extracted from these fecal samples was analyzed for Cryptosporidium spp. using PCR targeting the SSU rRNA gene. The prevalence of Cryptosporidium infection in brown rats was found to be 5.5% (24 out of 435). Interestingly, the infection rates varied among different animal enclosures, with rates of 0% in the chicken coop (0/51), cowshed (0/3), and varying rates in other areas including the sheepfold (6.1%, 6/98), the pigsty (7.6%, 10/132), the dovecote (7.0%, 5/71), and outdoor environments (3.8%, 3/80). The study identified three species and one genotype of Cryptosporidium, namely C. occultus (n = 10), C. parvum (n = 4), C. ditrichi (n = 1), and Cryptosporidium rat genotype IV (n = 9). Additionally, two of the C. parvum isolates were successfully subtyped as IIdA19G1 (n = 2) at the gp60 gene. In this paper, we extend Chandrasekhar’s method of calculating rotating black holes into f(R) theory. We show that the solution with constant Ricci scalar always exists in a general f(R) gravity and derive the Kerr and Kerr-Ads metric by using the analytical mathematical method. Suppose that the spacetime is a 4-dimensional Riemannian manifold with a general stationary axisymmetric metric, we calculate Cartan’s equation of structure and derive the Einstein tensor. In order to reduce the solving difficulty, we fix the gauge freedom to transform the metric into a more symmetric form. We solve the field equations in the two cases of the Ricci scalar R = 0 and R ≠ 0 . In the case of R = 0 , the Ernst’s equations are derived. We give the elementary solution of Ernst’s equations and show the way to obtain more solutions including Kerr metric. In the case of R ≠ 0 , we reasonably assume that the solution to the equations consists of two parts: the first is Kerr part and the second is introduced by the Ricci scalar. Giving solution to the second part and combining the two parts, we obtain the Kerr-Ads metric. The calculations are carried out in a general f(R) theory. The improvement of the digital construction level is the material and technological foundation to build a strong network and digital country, and the efficiency of human capital investment is a key factor affecting the sustainable development of the digital economy. In order to ensure the efficient development of digital construction and human capital investment efficiency and to test whether digital construction can effectively promote the improvement of human capital investment efficiency and narrow the regional human capital investment efficiency gap, we used a coupling coordination model to examine the consistency between the level of digital construction and the efficiency of human capital investment. The purpose and findings of the paper are as follows. The research results indicated that the efficiency of digital construction and human capital investment in central and western regions is stronger than that in the eastern region. The coupling level of the above two aspects is relatively low, and there are significant differences among different regions. Based on the research results, it is proposed that the government should guide the optimization of human capital investment structure, and enterprises should lead the improvement of human capital investment efficiency. In addition, the government should promote digital infrastructure guided by technology integration, and the enterprises should expand digital applications in intelligent scenarios. The parent‐child relationship plays an important role in shaping adolescents' mental health during the COVID‐19 pandemic. However, the mechanisms underlying the association between the parent‐child relationship and mental health are unclear. Using a 2‐wave longitudinal design, this study examined the role of both mother‐child and father‐child relationships during home quarantine in boarding school students' internalizing and externalizing problems after school reopening, and the mediating roles of academic buoyancy and academic engagement. A total of 1967 boarding high school students completed a battery of self‐report questionnaires before and after school reopening. Results indicated that both father‐child and mother‐child relationships indirectly contributed to internalizing and externalizing problems through the interlinked mediation path of academic buoyancy and academic engagement. The mother‐child relationship had greater influence on internalizing and externalizing problems than the father‐child relationship. These findings clarify the associations between the parent‐child relationships and mental health problems of boarding high school students during the transition to school reopening in the COVID‐19 pandemic, expanding our understanding of psychological adjustment related to parent‐child relationships and the potential mechanisms of these relationships. An oleyl alcohol-based extended surfactant, sodium oleyl polyethylene oxide-polypropylene oxide sulfate (OE3P3S), was synthesized and identified using FT-IR and 1H NMR. The adsorption and aggregation behaviors of OE3P3S and its mixture with cationic surfactant alkyltrimethylammoniumbromide (ATAB) were investigated under different molar ratios. The static surface tension analysis indicated that the critical micellization concentration (cmc) and the critical surface tension (γcmc) of OE3P3S were 0.72 mmol/L, and 36.16 mN/m, respectively. The cmc and γcmc values of the binary system were much lower than that of the individual component. And the cmc values of OE3P3S/ATAB = 6:4 mixtures decreased with an increase in the chain length of the cationic surfactant in the binary system. It was found from the dynamic surface tension that there was a slower diffusion rate in the binary system compared to the pure surfactant, and the adsorption processes for OE3P3S/ATAB = 6:4 were mixed diffusion-kinetic adsorption mechanisms. With a combination of DLS data and TEM measurements, formations of vesicles in OE3P3S/ATAB = 6:4 solutions appeared to occur at a concentration of 0.05 mmol/L. By studying the formation of liquid crystal structures in an emulsion prepared with OE3P3S as the surfactant, it was found that the oil-in-water emulsion is birefringent with a Maltese cross texture, and the rheological properties revealed its predominant viscoelastic behavior and shear thinning properties. The realization of efficient and accurate detection of biomolecules has become a key scientific issue in the field of life sciences. With the rapid development of nanotechnology, electrochemical sensors constructed from the superior physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials show faster and more accurate detection. Among nanomaterials, two-dimensional conductive MOF (2D cMOF) is considered to be a star material in electrochemical sensors due to its remarkable conductivity, high porosity, and stability. In this paper, a Cu3(HHTP)2/SPE electrochemical sensor for the detection of ascorbic acid (AA) was constructed by modifying 2D cMOF (Cu3(HHTP)2) on the surface of the screen-printed electrode (SPE). The sensor exhibited excellent catalytic activity in the detection of AA, with a lower detection limit of 2.4 μmol/L (S/N = 3) and a wide linear range of 25–1645 μmol/L. This high catalytic activity can be attributed to the abundant catalytic sites in Cu3(HHTP)2 and the rapid electron transfer between Cu+ and Cu2+, which accelerates the oxidation of AA. This work lays a foundation for the subsequent development of MOFs with special electrochemical catalytic properties and the integration of 2D cMOF into intelligent electrical analysis devices. The consumption of high power and an extended start-up time are some of the major issues faced by piezoelectric energy harvesting. With this in mind, a control circuit with an extremely low power consumption of a few milliwatts is designed in this paper to energize heavy loads like wireless sensor nodes. A low-duty cycled self-powered control circuit, which works only at the maximum power point, is proposed in this paper. During a cold-start, optimum operative conditions can be achieved by this circuit. Moreover, a low power threshold at the input is sufficient to start the circuit. An additional piezoelectric transducer or a DC power supply is not required to operate this designed circuit. In terms of harvesting energy, performance enhanced by 320% can be achieved by this circuit when compared to the standard energy harvesting circuit when connected to a series-synchronized switch harvesting on an inductor (SSHI) with a large storage capacitor of 150 mF. An input power of 4.42 μW is enough for the circuit during cold-start and it consumes an ultra-low power of 0.3 μW. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cryptosporidium spp. are protozoa commonly found in domestic and wild animals. Limited information is available on Cryptosporidium in deer worldwide. In this study, 201 fecal samples were collected from Alpine musk deer on three farms in Gansu Province, China. Detection and subtyping of Cryptosporidium were performed by PCR and sequence analysis of the SSU rRNA and gp60 genes. The prevalence of Cryptosporidium infection in Alpine musk deer was 3.9% (8/201), with infection rates of 1.0% (1/100), 2.8% (1/36), and 9.2% (6/65) in three different farms. All positive samples for Cryptosporidium were from adult deer. Two Cryptosporidium species were identified, including C. parvum (n = 2) and C. xiaoi (n = 6). The C. parvum isolates were subtyped as IIdA15G1, while the C. xiaoi isolates were subtyped as XXIIIa (n = 2) and XXIIIg (n = 4). The IIdA15G1 subtype of C. parvum was found for the first time in deer. Interest in the development of eco-friendly, sustainable, and convenient bio-based coatings to enhance flame retardancy and antibacterial properties in cotton fabrics is growing. In this work, chitosan was protonated at its amino groups using a method with a high atom economy using an equimolar amount of amino trimethylene phosphonic acid (ATMP), resulting in the fabrication of a single-component chitosan-based multifunctional coating (ATMP-CS), thereby avoiding any additional neutralization or purification steps. Cotton fabrics coated with various loads of ATMP-CS were prepared through a padding–drying–curing process. The morphology, thermal stability, mechanical properties, antibacterial properties, flame-retardant behavior, and flame-retardant mechanism of these fabrics were investigated. The coating exhibited excellent film-forming properties, and it imparted a uniform protective layer onto the surfaces of the cotton fabrics. When the load capacity reached 11.5%, the coated fabrics achieved a limiting oxygen index of 29.7% and successfully passed the VFT test. Moreover, the ATMP-CS coating demonstrated antibacterial rates against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus reaching 95.1% and 99.9%, respectively. This work presents a straightforward and gentle approach to fabricating colorless, environmentally friendly, and highly efficient fabric coatings that have potential applications in promoting the use of bio-based materials. The COVID-19 pandemic has made assessing vaccine efficacy more challenging. Besides neutralizing antibody assays, systems vaccinology studies use omics technology to reveal immune response mechanisms and identify gene signatures in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). However, due to their low proportion in PBMCs, profiling the immune response signatures of dendritic cells (DCs) is difficult. Here, we develop a predictive model for evaluating early immune responses in dendritic cells. We establish a THP-1-derived dendritic cell (TDDC) model and stimulate their maturation in vitro with an optimal dose of attenuated yellow fever 17D (YF-17D). Transcriptomic analysis reveals that type I interferon (IFN-I)-induced immunity plays a key role in dendritic cells. IFN-I regulatory biomarkers (IRF7, SIGLEC1) and IFN-I-inducible biomarkers (IFI27, IFI44, IFIT1, IFIT3, ISG15, MX1, OAS2, OAS3) are identified and validated in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, we apply this TDDC approach to various types of vaccines, providing novel insights into their early immune response signatures and their heterogeneity in vaccine recipients. Our findings suggest that a standardizable TDDC model is a promising predictive approach to assessing early immunity in DCs. Summary: The potential for totipotency exists in all plant cells; however, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. Earlier findings have revealed that the overexpression of LEAFY COTYLEDON 2 (LEC2) can directly trigger the formation of somatic embryos on the cotyledons of Arabidopsis. Furthermore, cotyledon cells that overexpress LEC2 accumulate significant lipid reserves typically found in seeds. The precise mechanisms and functions governing lipid accumulation in this process remain unexplored.In this study, we demonstrate that WRINKLED1 (WRI1), the key regulator of lipid biosynthesis, is essential for somatic embryo formation, suggesting that WRI1‐mediated lipid biosynthesis plays a crucial role in the transition from vegetative to embryonic development.Our findings indicate a direct interaction between WRI1 and LEC2, which enhances the enrichment of LEC2 at downstream target genes and stimulates their induction. Besides, our data suggest that WRI1 forms a complex with LEC1, LEC2, and FUSCA3 (FUS3) to facilitate the accumulation of auxin and lipid for the somatic embryo induction, through strengthening the activation of YUCCA4 (YUC4) and OLEOSIN3 (OLE3) genes.Our results uncover a regulatory module controlled by WRI1, crucial for somatic embryogenesis.
