Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a recurrent, inflammatory skin disease that usually presents after puberty with painful, deep-seated, inflamed lesions in the axillary, inguinal and anogenital regions.1 Severity assessment of HS however remains an important challenge. We propose to consider the IHS4 and SAHS as continuous scores (numerical value), although these two scores can also be considered as categorical (mild-moderate-severe). For the I metascore i , we amalgamated in the illustration of Table 1 four frequently used severity scores (Hurley Staging,5 International Hidradenitis Suppurativa Severity Score System (IHS4),6 Severity Assessment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa (SAHS)7 and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI)8) but more scores can be used without additional changes.
