The aim is to adapt the scenario-based explaining conflicting scientific claims questionnaire to Turkish in order to determine pre-service teachers' explanation preferences for contradictory scientific claims on unfamiliar subjects, and to examine science and social studies pre-service teachers' explanation preferences regarding conflicting issues based on history and biology. In the study, two different studies were carried out with two different study groups. The first group consists of 341 volunteer preservice teachers for the biology scenario and 337 volunteer pre-service teachers for the history scenario, studying in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. The data were used for adapting the scale to Turkish. The second group consisted of 55 pre-service science and 60 pre-service social studies teachers studying at the 4th-grade level. The data were collected with the explaining conflicting scientific claims questionnaire, which consists of scenarios based on history and biology. It has been determined that the questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for Turkish culture.
