A letter to the editor is presented regarding the advancement in the standards of the reporting and the quality assessment of surveys by clinicians.

This study explored integration of how scientific evidence was integrated into the decision-making processes regarding implementation of a telehomecare system. Fourteen semistructured interviews were completed with key organizational decision-makers based on a specific technological solution in evolution. Initial trial data influenced decision-makers to continue the deployment of the solution. Decision-makers from all groups agreed on the importance of using ongoing shared data and experience to assure an optimal decision-making process. Efficient strategies to transfer data analysis to organizational decision-making have been identified such as an end-users forum, where researchers provide support by sharing evidence with end-users and actively participate in knowledge translation. Some barriers mentioned by respondents included time required for report preparation and analysis, the lack of competence in research/evaluation among small regional teams, and the general difficulty for healthcare professionals to identify time to provide research data.
