Justification. In 2016 in Mexico, colorectal cancer in men ranked fourth in neoplasms worldwide; in women, it was in third place. Objectives: to explore the experience of people with colon cancer and who carry a colostomy. Methodology. This is a qualitative descriptive phenomenological study in eight informants selected for convenience sampling, Mexican adults of the male and female sex and the data collection was through an in-depth interview, establishing raport with the participants. The data analysis was through content analysis by Strauss and Corbin. The theoretical support made according to Martin Heidegger and Henri Lefebvre. Results and discussion. The most shocking experience is the feeling that your life no longer has time, time became finite after diagnosis and it is not enough to take care of yourself and work. While space conditions the time and the way in which the experience of having cancer is lived, in fact the amplitude of a space could be insufficient when the anguish is lived and one wishes to escape from reality. It is the nursing responsibility to support the process of recognizing and accepting your body, learning to take care of it and having the much desired control over their life and activities. Introduction. The different activities that consist of health care are registered in the medical chart; as well as the quality of the medical institutions is reflected, among other aspects, in the quality of the medical chart. Objective: To determine the quality level of the medical chart of adult patients scheduled for surgery according to the Evaluation Model of the Integrated Medical Chart and of Quality (MECIC in Spanish) in a hospital unit at the third Attention Level. Material and methods. A quantitative, correctional and retrospective study on the services of General Surgery, Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics. The MECIC suitable instrument is integrated by 16 fields. Results. Three out of four parts of the charts fulfill the MECIC requirements. In their field analyses none achieved a 90% or more compliance level; the general level was 70.4%. Out of 12 fields, six managed a superior level of 80%, these were: Reference Note, Social Work, Urgency Note, Recovery Note, Informed Consent and Discharge Note. The fields with 70% compliance were: Pre-anaesthetic Note, Medical History, Pre-surgery Note, Auxiliary Service of Diagnostic and Medical Treatment, Medical Notes and Nursing Note. The fields that have a compliance level of 60% or less are: Records Generalities, Consultation Note and Transfusions Registry. Conclusions. The level of compliance of the medical charts is steady. There are differences in the compliance of the service chart; according to the MECIC, Orthopaedics had 65% of "excellence", Neurosurgery 32% of "good" and General Surgery 82% of "insufficient". The Model of Evaluation of the Integrated Medical Chart and of Quality is a tool that allows the homogenization of the evaluation system of the medical chart. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

INTRODUCTION: The medication error is more common in childhood; the recommended dose considered a margin of safety and efficacy, basic knowledge of pharmacological concepts and competences and attitudes for ministration are responsibility of professional nursing. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Quantitative, correlational, observational, cross-sectional study conducted in nurses of different categories of a 3rd level hospital of Mexico City, responsible for the management of high-risk medications in hospitalized children. The probabilistic sample consisted of 89 nurses equivalent to 68% of the population. To collect data two instruments were used: "Quality in the administration of intravenous medications and their effect on patient safety"; (KR20 = 0.79) Cardenas and Zarate (2009); and "Knowledge and skills ministration of high-risk medications in pediatrics" (KR20 = 0.82) López y Ponce 2014. RESULTS: In relation to compliance with the dimensions obtained that 49% have very good knowledge of range; skills obtained in 100% so are in the range of excellent; skills and 74% have a minimum level of compliance. CONCLUSIONS: Professional nursing is responsible for own professional skills for the ministering of high-risk Pediatric medications, putting at risk the safety and quality of care. Introduction. Infirmary registries are of great importance in the medical attention, as they constitute the documentary support in which the information about the diverse activities that are carried out in relation to the patient is recorded. These facilitate the exchange of information among carers, promoting the communication between infirmary personnel and other members of the healthcare team, at the same time, they provide elements to facilitate the evaluation of the healthcare process. This research was oriented to identify the level of compliance of infirmary clinical registries with the Mexican Clinical File (NOM 168) Official Norm, NOM-168-SSA1-1998. Material and Methods. Descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study, where infirmary registries from clinical files used in arbitration procedures at the National Commission for Medical Arbitration (CONAMED) during 2009 were evaluated. A dichotomic instrument, based on the NOM-168. SSA1-1998, was designed and applied to the clinical records. Data was processed using the statistical package SPSS V.15.0, performing statistic and inferential analysis. Results. The compliance general index was significantly acceptable in 73.93% of the cases. Several deficiencies were identified; the most persistent lack of compliance related to the omission of complete name and signature of infirmary personnel, as well as the lack of data related to the description of the patients' observed external appearancer. Data that most frequently was registered according to the NOM included: vital signs, patients' complete name and annotations regarding the administration of drugs. Conclusions. Infirmary personnel is bound to know and attend the general rules of their profession, taking into account that the NOM-168-SSA1-1998, of the Clinical File, establishes the specific lineaments that must be fulfilled due to their technical and obligatory character.
