Abstract

This article compares the long-term outcomes of two surgical techniques, neomedia implantation and two-component glue, for sinus preservation in patients under 65 with acute type A aortic dissection. The study found that neomedia resulted in lower rates of reintervention compared to glue, indicating a more durable reconstruction of the aortic root layers. While early postoperative outcomes were similar, neomedia showed promise in reducing the need for proximal reoperation. [Extracted from the article]

Abstract: The scope of the paper is a theoretical analysis of the impact of the temperature of the cooling agent on the so called: “Liapunov’s time” in a model of a tubular chemical rector. For a chaotic solution, the values of Liapunov’s time were found to be relatively low. This means that the chaotic state of the reactor is unpredictable even after relatively short observation time. Periodic and chaotic temperature and concentration oscillations occur in the analyzed system. There is a dependence between the oscillation period of the state variable of the system without flow reversal and the recurrence period of windows of chaos in the steady-state diagram of the system with flow reversal. Abstract: The mathematical–numerical analysis of a discrete dynamical model with two independent delays was performed. Such model may describe a continuous system with delays that have real rational number values. Applicable characteristic equations were derived for both a single and double cycle.
