A regioselective and convenient methodology was developed to synthesize heterocyclic derivatives, bearing imidazole, piperidines, and azepines rings. The N‐arylnitrones derived from 3‐formylchromones were selected to react with heterocyclic ketene aminal to furnish the structurally attractive and pharmacologically important fused ring heterocycles. The N‐arylnitrone moiety of 3‐formylchromone was used to activate the formyl group for regioselective fused ring heterocycles synthesis, whereas, the effect of substituents at aryl functionality of nitrones were studied to improve the yield of target fused ring heterocyclic products. The synthesized compounds (10‐12) were evaluated for their in vitro cytotoxic and antifungal influences. In cytotoxic (brine shrimp lethality) assay, compound 11e was found to be active with LD50 = 4.1 × 10−6 μg/mL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effect of egg albumin has been examined on the texture and stability of O/W emulsion. The corn oil was used as dispersed phase while the aqueous phase as continuous phase of the emulsion. The aqueous phase was designed with the protein contents (0.5-4 wt. %) at pH 7. The different oil phase (10-40 wt. %) were homogenized in aqueous phase (90-60 wt. %). It was observed that the viscosity and turbidity of the emulsion were increased with the increase of protein concentration and oil phase contents. Flow profile showed that shear stress was increased with increase of shear rate but it decreased at higher shear rate (100 s-1) in heated emulsion. On the other hand the emulsion viscosity was decreased with the increase of shear rate showing non- Newtonian behavior. Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy has now become a promising tool for quick analysis and characterization of broad range of physical and biological samples. In this study we have reported elemental analysis of the human teeth using laser induced breakdown spectroscopy technique. The fundamental (λ = 1064 nm) and the second harmonic generation (λ = 532 nm) of Nd: YAG laser were used to ablate the samples of human teeth in air at atmospheric pressure. In the recorded spectrum of the teeth plasma we detected the Hydrogen (H), Carbon (C), Oxygen (O) and Nitrogen (N) as well as trace amount of Calcium (Ca), Iron (Fe), Mg (Magnesium), Sulfur (S), Zinc (Zn) and Ni (Nickel) elements. Also Chromium (Cr) from transition [3d4(5D) 4s4p (1P0) (y5 D0 2) → 3d144s2 (a5D 3 ] at wavelength 300.5 nm. From the spectroscopic analysis of the transition lines of the calcium we measured the electron temperature using the intensity ratio of the transition lines [3p64s4d (3D 3) → 3p64s4p (3P0 2)] at 445.4 nm and 3p64s3s (3S 1) → 3p64s4p(3P0 2) at 616.2 nm. The intensities ratios CaII/CaI and MgII/MgI were used for quantitative determination of hardness. and the electron number density was measured from Stark broadening of transition [3p64s4d (3D 3) → 3p64s4p (3P0 2)] at 422.6 nm under the assumption of local thermodynamic equilibrium. The density of calcium and phosphorous, which are the main matrix of teeth was thus estimated from intensity ratios and electron number density and compared with standard values.
