'Extramuros Architecture' represents the series of social practices that spring from the academic environment, with the support of tutors and students, and are carried out on a voluntary basis in support of the development of vulnerable communities. These experiences range from community work to participatory design, and seek to achieve the integration of actors and social networks from an endogenous community perspective, based on the principle that a sustainable and social production of the habitat is one that empowers individuals, families, communities and various social organizations to promote solutions of development in line with their conditions and aspirations. The cases presented were developed in Guanajuato, Mexico, between 2013 and 2018, with the purpose of integrating architectural students in a social reality, and enabling them to advise and to produce actions and projects of community intervention for the improvement of its architectural and urban inhabitability.
