The author expresses his views on the contribution of nuclear medicine in the development of several radiopharmaceuticals. The author said that as bacterial infection continues to grow globally, the capacity to differentiate bacterial and sterile inflammation is important. He mentions that the use of nuclear medicine has contributed in the development of radiopharmaceuticals and cites that not being infection specific, the number of microorganisms available for targetting is a disadvantage.
