HAL is the national open repository for documents and data from French scientists. The deposits are organized in institutional portals and collections from research laboratories and projects. The paper analyses how grey literature is represented in the collections of French research laboratories on HAL. We assess the grey literature deposits on HAL from the 66 research laboratories affiliated to the University of Lille, covering all STM and SSH fields. The focus is on conference papers, reports, working papers, theses and dissertations. The study distinguishes between deposits of documents and records without documents, compares deposits from different disciplines, different laboratory collections and different document types. Typical strategies (or lack of strategies) on the local level of research laboratories are identified. Conditions and variables that may explain these differences are discussed, together with potential effects on the visibility, impact and evaluation of the laboratories' research output. What events become “police cases” in everyday policing? This question permeates the analytical approach of this paper. Covering police practices of the policing program Ronda do Quarteirão in Ceará, Brazil, we analyze how neighborhood-level events become police cases during patrols. Our aim is to articulate the production of police practices with the interactions and relations maintained between police and population in neighborhoods classified as “problematic”, due to the large number of police occurrences taking place in the area. Special attention is given to the conflicts that permeate the production of police occurrences as sociological phenomena. Here, we open up paths through which to relate police work to local specificities, and to how situated residents trigger Military Police action by calling on them in the everyday. Methodologically, this was a qualitative study, marked by the participation in car-based police patrols. Techniques used include direct observation and semi-structured, episodic interviews. This paper is a post-qualitative inquiry (PQI) exploring how, and with what effect, school psychologists support the translation of psychoeducational reports into pedagogy for children who experience learning difficulties. Using the knowledge-making practices of three Australian school psychologists, and my own experience as a practicing school psychologist, Rhodes & Lancaster's (2019) evidence-making framework is utilised to analyse reports through the theoretical perspectives of relational materialism. This analysis suggests acts of translation are produced by the way in which the authoring psychologist is positioned within relational assemblages of material (e.g., report format) and psychosocial (e.g., beliefs) components found at the intersection of education and psychology. By evidencing the utility of reports through theory and practice, the inquiry illustrates how the practical meaning, value and effect of reports is not pre-determined and fixed. Instead, it suggests their utility is relational and dependent on context-specific conditions and the way in which school psychologists respond within these conditions. Objectives: Structured reporting (SR) in radiology reporting is suggested to be a promising tool in clinical practice. In order to implement such an emerging innovation, it is necessary to verify that radiology reporting can benefit from SR. Therefore, the purpose of this systematic review is to explore the level of evidence of structured reporting in radiology. Additionally, this review provides an overview on the current status of SR in radiology. Methods: A narrative systematic review was conducted, searching PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library using the syntax 'radiol*' AND 'structur*' AND 'report*'. Structured reporting was divided in SR level 1, structured layout (use of templates and checklists), and SR level 2, structured content (a drop-down menu, point-and-click or clickable decision trees). Two reviewers screened the search results and included all quantitative experimental studies that discussed SR in radiology. A thematic analysis was performed to appraise the evidence level. Results: The search resulted in 63 relevant full text articles out of a total of 8561 articles. Thematic analysis resulted in 44 SR level 1 and 19 level 2 reports. Only one paper was scored as highest level of evidence, which concerned a double cohort study with randomized trial design. Conclusion: The level of evidence for implementing SR in radiology is still low and outcomes should be interpreted with caution. Purpose: The purpose of this study is twofold. First, the study shall evaluate the extent of usage of grey literature and its different types of addiction research. The second purpose of the research is to analyze the extent of usage of reports such as research reports, survey reports, data reports, etc. As the reports are produced in general by various organizations and can be accessed by not only academicians but also the general public, they play an important role in the dissemination of research to the people. Therefore, the study endeavored to identify the major organizations that are involved in the publishing of research reports in the field of addiction. Design/methodology/approach: Scopus database was used for the purpose of collecting the data. References in the reference lists of the articles published in 2018 in the journal Psychology of Addictive Behaviors of the American Psychological Association were collected. Scopus indexes the references of the papers in two different categories, namely, indexed in scopus/scopus references and reference lists. They were then categorized as grey literature and non-grey literature. Further, reports were searched manually so that their producers/authors can be found and categorized according to the organizations. Findings: The study found that grey literature comprises a very small proportion of citations in addiction research (just approximately 5 per cent). This suggests that the improper indexing and bibliographic control of grey literature may be one of the reasons behind the low numbers. Reports comprised the largest proportion of the grey literature cited in addiction research, followed by software documentation, unpublished manuscripts, guidebooks, handbooks, manuals, websites, government publications, etc. The reports of the US Department of Health and Human Services comprised the maximum citations in the reports category because of the reports produced by organizations like Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) which comprised 17.59 per cent of the total reports. Other than the reports of the organizations of the USA, the reports published by the organizations of Canada, Australia, UK, New Zealand and one European Body were also cited by the articles of the journal. Practical implications: The research focuses on the use of grey literature in addiction research. The findings of the study indicate very low citations to grey literature in addiction research. This reinforces the need for a separate worldwide information retrieval system for grey literature for researchers to conduct systematic reviews. Originality/value: Very few studies have been conducted on the use of grey literature and hardly any research focuses on the use of grey literature in addiction research. The study goes one step further and identifies major organizations that are involved in the production of research reports in the field so that their reports can be properly indexed. Purpose In the context of organisation studies, Shotter and colleagues have used the notion of practical authorship of social situations and identities to explain the work of managers and leaders. This notion and contemporary theories of authorship in literary scholarship can be linked to the authoring of documents in the context of document studies to explain the impact and use of documents as instruments of management and communication. The paper aims to discuss these issues.Design/methodology/approach The conceptual discussion is supported by an empirical interview study of the information work of N=16 archaeologists.Findings First, the making of documents and other artefacts, their use as instruments (e.g. boundary objects (BOs)) of management, and the practical authorship of social situations, collective and individual identities form a continuum of authorship. Second, that because practical authorship seems to bear a closer affinity to the liabilities/responsibilities and privileges of attached to documents rather than to a mere attribution of their makership or ownership, practical authorship literature might benefit of an increased focus on them.Research limitations/implications This paper shows how practical authorship can be used as a framework to link making and use of documents to how they change social reality. Further, it shows how the notion of practical authorship can benefit of being complemented with insights from the literature on documentary and literary authorship, specifically that authorship is not only a question of making but also, even more so, of social attribution of responsibilities and privileges.Originality/value This paper shows how the concepts of documentary and practical authorship can be used to complement each other in elaborating our understanding of the making of artefacts (documentary) BOs and the social landscape. Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to report on an action research project carried out in an Italian university hospital that was facing a strategic challenge. The role of intellectual capital (IC) for university hospital strategic management is discussed after developing and applying an IC framework to enhance the visualisation of strategic IC elements. Design/methodology/approach - An action research process has been applied in the studied setting based on Susman and Evered's (1978) definition of the engaged research cycle. Findings - The action research process allowed a gap between theory and practice to be bridged; the strategic control process resulted supported by new measures; a different approach to strategy management was launched, and other organisations perceived the relevance of the IC representation and wished to import it. Research limitations/implications - Research limitations are related to those recognised for the interventionist research approach. Practical implications - The paper contributes to the improvement of managerial and accounting technologies for practitioners managing university hospitals and discusses a university hospital's strategic goals. Originality/value - The paper represents a methodological contribution related to the interventionist research stream of literature, and enriches the limited studies focused on IC in health care organisations. At this paper we analyze a number of sexual violence reports portrayed by women citizens against military personnel during the last military dictatorship in Argentina. We consider that analyzing those reports allows us to visualize how the sexist practices that we know that were taking place inside the clandestine detention centers also occurred outside them. The concentracionary power assumed similar characteristics outside the clandestine detention centers and that was because of the power that State Terrorism gave to the military personnel. In this research, the gender perspective allows, firstly, to deepen the analysis of everyday life during the last military dictatorship. Secondly, it allows us to inquire about hierarchical gender relations within our society, which, although not static, preceded and followed the military government. However, the military regime sought to reinforce such hierarchical gender relations during the period of State Terrorism both inside and outside clandestine detention centers. In that sense, the analysis of the selected cases shows, both with the reiteration of the cases and the mechanisms to discourage the reports, how the sexual violence was present further in the boundaries of clandestine detention centers (in temporal and spacial terms). Furthermore, it shows how sexists' myths and the discrimination towards women that impregnated the judicial system didn't allow an audibility framework for the reports. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper analize four competitiveness indices for Mexican federative entities produced by two local higher educational institutions and two local agencies. The results indicate that while these studies require indicators to continuously improve their quality and explanatory power, these changes are greater compared to the main international competitiveness indices. Relevance and reliability for the economic planning will be greater for decision makers, policy makers and individuals concerned as usefulness and benchmarks in the design and monitoring of local public policies. The Ministry of Justice Green Paper on Breaking the Cycle contains proposals for the re-formation of the criminal justice system in England and Wales during the period 2010 to 2015. Even though the document includes a brief profile of the offender population, it does not engage critically by locating the profile within a neoliberal political, social, and economic explanatory context. It used to be the responsibility of the probation service to provide relevant information to the courts to explore and explain offending episodes. However, recent modernizing transformations have damaged this historic function and it is a considerable omission the Green Paper neither discusses nor rectifies. Purpose – This paper aims to discuss some caveats about the findings of Part 1 of the Royal Society's report from the perspective of the choice and reliability of the source base, and the bibliometric and scientometric indicators. Design/methodology/approach – The paper argues that the Royal Society's report gives too much emphasis to the growth rate of the publications of Chinese researchers when interpolating those data and forecasting that, within the decade and possibly as early as 2013, China will be ahead of even the USA in terms of the number of publications. Findings – In an era when the "publish or perish" slogan is replaced by the "get cited or perish" mantra, the report barely discusses how much China is behind the world average and especially the above countries in terms of the most important scientometric indicators that take into account the productivity/quantity aspect and the citedness of publications as a proxy for quality. Originality/value – The paper illustrates that there are much better measures for the assessment of research activity than the one-dimensional productivity numbers, such as the h-index or the uncitedness rate, and the citations/publication rate where China is far below and the USA is far above the world average scores, and uses some charts to paint a more realistic picture of the scientific landscape. Purpose. The current pharmacy occurrence-reporting system in an institution was reviewed, and an internal procedure that would provide data to improve the medication-use process was developed. Summary. In a rural, 353-bed, tertiary care academic center, the effectiveness of a departmental occurrence-reporting system was determined over a nine-month period to increase occurrence reporting within the pharmacy and allow administrators to identify specific areas for improvement within the medication distribution process. These events were identified according to the number and type of near misses documented by pharmacy staff. The pharmacy staff was asked to complete a survey about the department's current reporting process and what the staff desired in a new occurrence-reporting system. The staff was also surveyed on which steps of the pharmacy's medication distribution process could contribute to the most errors. Initially, a paper-based error-reporting form was developed for all steps of the pharmacy distribution process except pharmacist order entry. Once the paper-based error-reporting form was introduced, the pharmacist order-entry phase of the project was begun. During the evaluation period, 203 pharmacy-dispensing errors were reported to the hospital's error-reporting system. In contrast, 1385 total pharmacy events were documented using the pharmacy's internal occurrence-reporting system. At least 204 of those reported events involved high-alert medications according to the institution's high-alert medications policy. Conclusion. A pharmacy internal occurrence-reporting system increased staff reporting and identified areas for improvement within the medication distribution process that may not have been recorded by a hospital-based reporting system. Information about an archaeological investigation is documented in an archaeological report, which makes it the boundary object par excellence for archaeological information work across stakeholder communities such as field archaeologists, heritage managers, and land developers. The quality of reports has been a subject of debate, and recently it has been argued that more emphasis should be placed on making primary research data at least similarly available. This study explores the changing materialities and reciprocal formation of documents and their users with the advent of digitization, and how documents form and lose their status as boundary objects in these processes. The study posits that in order to be functional, a boundary object needs to provide a disclosure that makes it accessible to cognate communities. Further, it shows how assumptions about the functioning of the human and nonhuman (material artifacts) influence the ways in which archaeologists conceptualize the preservation and archiving of archaeological information and the role and potential of different types of digital and paper-based documents. History is an extremely important aspect in Hegel's philosophical system. Although this is clear in his mature texts, one may ask whether the origins of such interest would be restricted to them only. Current paper deals with the question whether Hegel was already interested in history in his early years. His texts at the time of the Gymnasium in Stuttgart, such as his Diary and some of the reviews written by the young student, may be considered as his early works, which is not to say that at that moment Hegel would have already had a good idea of the systematic characteristics of history. History, however, belonged to the roll of interests of the young Hegel. The young Hegel reveals in his early writings, even if some interpreters consider those texts apocryphal, a special attention to contemporary events, considering them as the result of intended human activity. His initial education and thought formation were strongly marked by the history bias, when in his speech on graduation day in Stuttgart he stressed the benefits of education for the world. The region of Rio Branco's valley, state of Roraima, has appeared in documents and texts of chroniclers and travelers since the eighteenth century to be more precise. However, the usual historiography shows, as the landmark discovery, the expedition led by Pedro Teixeira (1637 1639). Four reports resulted from this expedition. The aim of the present paper is to verify, from these reports, the passages that could indicate the region and the inferences that were made later, in order to identify its "origin". This paper shows that tenses in Ancient Greek reports have both an anaphoric and a shifted-indexical component. It develops a new account of Ancient Greek tenses that deals with this combination of features. Following Klein's (1994) semantics of tense, I claim that tense indicates the relation between an anaphoric topic time and the moment of utterance, the now. As for Ancient Greek indirect discourse, I argue that the anaphoric component works exactly the same as in non-embedded discourse (contra von Stechow 1995). The indexical component, however, is di ferent in that the now is not provided by the actual context of utterance, but by the reported context. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to report on and describe the use of MediaWiki and Google Docs at undergraduate level as online collaboration tools for co-constructing knowledge in group project work. Design/methodology/approach – Participants included 22 undergraduate students from the Information Management Programme at the University of Hong Kong. All the students had used MediaWiki for the major project in their knowledge management course and Google Docs for their final year project. Questionnaires and semi-structured telephone interviews were administered after completion of the course/final year project. All interview conversations were audio-recorded and transcribed for analysis. Each transcript was e-mailed to the interviewee for accuracy review. The qualitative data supplemented, enriched and clarified the quantitative responses from the online surveys. Findings – The results indicated that some of the students had positive experiences using the tools for online collaboration in the group projects. Although more students found MediaWiki an effective knowledge management tool than Google Docs, many students highlighted the user-friendly features of Google Docs. Originality/value – These platforms (MediaWiki and Google Docs) gave teachers the facility to closely monitor student progress, and to provide feedback to assist in the effective management of the report-writing process. Moreover, the use of Google Docs in an academic setting remains largely unexplored in the literature, even though the collaborative features of MediaWiki and Google Docs are relatively comparable. SFX, an OpenURL link resolver, was implemented at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library in late 2005. Data from the SFX statistical reporting package are providing yet another look at how library users navigate and utilize electronic resources. However, unlike other statistical reports, such as electronic use statistics provided by vendors, SFX data cover both successful and unsuccessful links, meaning that libraries can identify items patrons wanted, but which were not (for some reason) available. And while SFX cannot totally replicate use data from publishers (since it cannot track bookmarked links resulting from use outside the library's links), it can provide statistical use data in place of publishers who simply do not offer this service, which often includes smaller or more specialized publishers. SFX data also cover multiple databases and vendors, combining use and nonuse data in one statistical package. This paper provides an overview of the 20 established statistical reports available through the SFX statistics module. Suggestions are offered for how the data from these reports can be used to answer questions about how academic journal collections and their indexes are being used and what users need but are not finding. Purpose. The interrater agreement for and reliability of the National Coordinating Council for Medication Error Reporting and Prevention (NCC MERP) index for categorizing medication errors were determined. Methods. A letter was sent by the U.S. Pharmacopeia to all 550 contacts in the MEDMARX system user database. Participants were asked to categorize 27 medication scenarios using the NCC MERP index and were randomly assigned to one of three tools (the index alone, a paper-based algorithm, or a computer-based algorithm) to assist in categorization. Because the NCC MERP index accounts for harm and cost, and because categories could be interpreted as substantially similar, study results were analyzed after the nine error categories were collapsed to six. The interrater agreement was measured using Cohen's kappa value. Results. Of 119 positive responses, 101 completed surveys were returned for a response rate of 85%. There were no significant differences in baseline demographics among the three groups. The overall interrater agreement for the participants, regardless of group assignment, was substantial at 0.61 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.41–0.81). There was no difference among the kappa values of the three study groups and the tools used to aid in medication error classification. When the index was condensed from nine categories to six, the interrater agreement increased with a kappa value of 0.74 (95% CI, 0.56–0.90).Conclusion. Overall interrater agreement for the NCC MERP index for categorizing medication errors was substantial. The tool provided to assist with categorization did not influence overall categorization. Sustainability become, in recent years, an important part of corporate management philosophy. It is communicated through mandatory and non-mandatory reports that identify specific objectives and disseminate best practices to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Circular Economy (CE) can be integrated despite having a different theoretical focus. The paper aims to discuss "if" and "how" cosmetic luxury brands are improving their environmental sustainability through new integrated strategies, using the different theoretical concepts of CSR and CE, driver of cleaner production. The research analyses the CSR reports of eight well-known Multinationals in Cosmetics (MNCs) to verify how they pursue the typical dimensions of CSR (environmental, social, and economic) and if CE is part of their corporate strategies. We found evidence of a good level of attention by MNCs to circularity in their CSR reporting. In particular, we found companies' CSR reports communicate multiple objectives typical of a circular approach (eco-design, reuse, low energy consumption, zero emissions). The main contribution of this study is supporting the integration of CE and CSR dimensions in MNCs managerial choices. It also contributes to the understanding on the relation between CSR and CE and assesses the state of art of MNCs in this field making it possible take a step towards an increasingly integrated approach to circularity. This paper significantly improves on, and finishes to validate, an approach proposed in previous research in which safety outcomes were predicted from attributes with machine learning. Like in the original study, we use Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract fundamental attributes from raw incident reports and machine learning models are trained to predict safety outcomes. The outcomes predicted here are injury severity, injury type, body part impacted, and incident type. However, unlike in the original study, safety outcomes were not extracted via NLP but were provided by independent human annotations, eliminating any potential source of artificial correlation between predictors and predictands. Results show that attributes are still highly predictive, confirming the validity of the original approach. Other improvements brought by the current study include the use of (1) a much larger dataset featuring more than 90,000 reports, (2) two new models, XGBoost and linear SVM (Support Vector Machines), (3) model stacking, (4) a more straightforward experimental setup with more appropriate performance metrics, and (5) an analysis of per-category attribute importance scores. Finally, the injury severity outcome is well predicted, which was not the case in the original study. In the Colombian Special Jurisdiction for Peace (SJP), victims, ethnic and human rights' organizations can submit a report about the violation of their rights in the framework of the armed conflict (regulated by the Law 1922 of 2018). These reports are considered one expression of the right of victims' participation before the SJP. In this paper, we first present the regulatory framework about the participation of victims in the SJP and the importance of ensuring this right in the face of the challenges of this jurisdiction. Second, we present a qualitative approach of data gathered from semi-structured interviews conducted with representatives of organizations that have submitted reports to the SJP. These interviews aimed to explore the right of submitting reports to the SJP regarding three concepts: support, visibility and participation. Results showed that (1) victims receive support to submit their reports, (2) the submission of the reports increase victims' visibility, and (3) the submission of the reports are considered an actual victims' participation mechanism.
