The article presents the comments of Patrick Coyne, editor of the journal "Communication Arts," on the 20th anniversary of the journal. When Coyne started working with the journal, digital media and the World Wide Web were almost a decade away but now digital technology and communication have become a significant part of the advertising industry. The year 2005 has been the best for the industry since economic slowdown and advertising grew by 6.3%. The year presented a lot of challenges, the largest being the major hit to the journal from rising paper prices, 18% in 2005 alone.
