Abstract

The article examines how health professionals can enhance maternal and child health outcomes in the indigenous communities of Australia. Topics discussed include the provision of culturally responsive care and the need for professionals to listen and respond respectfully to the needs of women and their families. Avoidance of judgmental behavior and observance of the spiritual connection of the indigenous peoples to the land, kin, and tradition are also mentioned.
