Horn functions form a subclass of Boolean functions possessing interesting structural and computational properties. These functions play a fundamental role in algebra, artificial intelligence, combinatorics, computer science, database theory, and logic. In the present paper, we introduce the subclass of hypergraph Horn functions that generalizes matroids and equivalence relations. We provide multiple characterizations of hypergraph Horn functions in terms of implicate-duality and the closure operator, which are, respectively, regarded as generalizations of matroid duality and the Mac Lane-Steinitz exchange property of matroid closure. We also study algorithmic issues on hypergraph Horn functions and show that the recognition problem (i.e., deciding if a given definite Horn CNF represents a hypergraph Horn function) and key realization (i.e., deciding if a given hypergraph is realized as a key set by a hypergraph Horn function) can be done in polynomial time, while implicate sets can be generated with polynomial delay. The evaluation of scientific journals poses challenges owing to the existence of various impact measures. This is because journal ranking is a multidimensional construct that may not be assessed effectively using a single metric such as an impact factor. A few studies have proposed an ensemble of metrics to prevent the bias induced by an individual metric. In this study, a multi-metric journal ranking method based on the standardized average index (SA index) was adopted to develop an extended standardized average index (ESA index). The ESA index utilizes six metrics: the CiteScore, Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), Hirsh index (H-index), Eigenfactor Score, and Journal Impact Factor from three well-known databases (Scopus, SCImago Journal & Country Rank, and Web of Science). Experiments were conducted in two computer science subject areas: (1) artificial intelligence and (2) computer vision and pattern recognition. Comparing the results of the multi-metric-based journal ranking system with the SA index, it was demonstrated that the multi-metric ESA index exhibited high correlation with all other indicators and significantly outperformed the SA index. To further evaluate the performance of the model and determine the aggregate impact of bibliometric indices with the ESA index, we employed unsupervised machine learning techniques such as clustering coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE). These techniques were utilized to measure the clustering impact of various bibliometric indicators on both the complete set of bibliometric features and the reduced set of features. Furthermore, the results of the ESA index were compared with those of other ranking systems, including the internationally recognized Scopus, SJR, and HEC Journal Recognition System (HJRS) used in Pakistan. These comparisons demonstrated that the multi-metric-based ESA index can serve as a valuable reference for publishers, journal editors, researchers, policymakers, librarians, and practitioners in journal selection, decision making, and professional assessment. Natural language processing is an important direction in the field of computer science and artificial intelligence. It can realize various theories and methods of effective communication between humans and computers using natural language. Machine learning is a branch of natural language processing research, which is based on a large-scale English-Chinese database. Due to the relatively poor alignment corpus of English and Chinese bilingual sentences containing unknown words, machine translation is unprofessional and unbalanced, which is the problem studied in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement a length-based system for sentence alignment between English and Chinese bilingual texts. The research content of this paper is mainly divided into the following parts. First, the evaluation function of bilingual sentence alignment is designed, and on this basis, the bilingual sentence alignment algorithm based on the length and the optimal sentence pair sequence search algorithm is designed. In this paper, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) is selected as an English-Chinese bilingual candidate website and English-Chinese bilingual web pages are downloaded. After analyzing the downloaded pages, nontext content such as page tags is removed, and bilingual text information is stored so as to establish an English-Chinese bilingual corpus based on segment alignment and retain English-Chinese bilingual keywords in the web pages. Second, extract the dictionary from the software StarDict, analyze the original dictionary format, and turn it into a custom dictionary format, which is convenient and better to use the double-sentence sentence alignment system, which is conducive to expanding the number of dictionaries and increasing the professionalism of vocabulary. Finally, we extract the stems of English words from the established corpus to simplify the complexity of English word processing, reduce the noise caused by the conversion of word parts of speech, and improve the operation efficiency. Electrical utilities and system operators (SOs) are constantly looking for solutions to problems in the management and control of the power network. For this purpose, SOs are exploring new research fields, which might bring contributions to the power system environment. A clear example is the field of computer science, within which artificial intelligence (AI) has been developed and is being applied to many fields. In power systems, AI could support the fault prediction of cable joints. Despite the availability of many legacy methods described in the literature, fault prediction is still critical, and it needs new solutions. For this purpose, in this paper, the authors made a further step in the evaluation of machine learning methods (ML) for cable joint health assessment. Six ML algorithms have been compared and assessed on a consolidated test scenario. It simulates a distributed measurement system which collects measurements from medium-voltage (MV) cable joints. Typical metrics have been applied to compare the performance of the algorithms. The analysis is then completed considering the actual in-field conditions and the SOs' requirements. In this paper, we propose a new effective algorithm for the categorical syllogisms by using a calculus system Syllogistic Logic with Carroll Diagrams, which determines a formal approach to logical reasoning with diagrams, for representations of the fundamental Aristotelian categorical syllogisms. We show that this logical reasoning is closed under the syllogistic criterion of inference. Therefore, the calculus system is implemented to let the formalism which comprises synchronically bilateral and trilateral diagrammatical appearance and naive algorithmic nature. And also, there is no need specific knowledge or exclusive ability to understand this decision procedure as well as to use it in an algorithmic system. In recent years, with the development of computer science, deep learning is held as competent enough to solve the problem of inference and learning in high dimensional space. Therefore, it has received unprecedented attention from both the academia and the business community. Compared with CPU/GPU, FPGA has attracted much attention for its high-energy efficiency, short development cycle and reconfigurability in the aspect of deep learning algorithm. However, because of the limited research on OpenCL optimization on FPGA of deep learning algorithms, OpenCL tools and models applied to CPU/GPU cannot be directly used on FPGA. This makes it difficult for software programmers to use FPGA when implementing deep learning algorithms for a rewarding performance. To solve this problem, this paper proposed an OpenCL computational model based on FPGA template architecture to optimize the time-consuming convolution layer in deep learning. The comparison between the program applying the computational model and the corresponding optimization program provided by Xilinx indicates that the former is 8-40 times higher than the latter in terms of performance. The accuracy and diversity of recommendation algorithms have always been the research hotspot of recommender systems. A good recommender system should not only have high accuracy and diversity, but also have adequate robustness against spammer attacks. However, the issue of recommendation robustness has received relatively little attention in the literature. In this paper, we systematically study the influences of different spammer behaviors on the recommendation results in various recommendation algorithms. We further propose an improved algorithm by incorporating the inner-similarity of user’s purchased items in the classic KNN approach. The new algorithm effectively enhances the robustness against spammer attacks and thus outperforms traditional algorithms in recommendation accuracy and diversity when spammers exist in the online commercial systems. Algorithms represent one of the fundamental issues in computer science, while asymptotic notations are widely accepted as the main tool for estimating the complexity of algorithms. Over the years a certain number of asymptotic notations have been proposed. Each of these notations is based on the comparison of various complexity functions with a given complexity function. In this paper, we define a new asymptotic notation, called “Weak Theta,” that uses the comparison of various complexity functions with two given complexity functions. Weak Theta notation is especially useful in characterizing complexity functions whose behaviour is hard to be approximated using a single complexity function. In addition, in order to highlight the main particularities of Weak Theta, we propose and prove several theoretical results: properties of Weak Theta, criteria for comparing two complexity functions, and properties of a new set of complexity functions (also defined in the paper) based on Weak Theta. Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) realizes a two-way communication of electricity data through by interconnecting with a computer network as the core component of the smart grid. Meanwhile, it brings many new security threats and the traditional intrusion detection method can’t satisfy the security requirements of AMI. In this paper, an intrusion detection system based on Online Sequence Extreme Learning Machine (OS-ELM) is established, which is used to detecting the attack in AMI and carrying out the comparative analysis with other algorithms. Negative correlation learning (NCL) is a neural network ensemble learning algorithm that introduces a correlation penalty term to the cost function of each individual network so that each neural network minimizes its mean square error/MSEI together with the correlation of the ensemble. This paper analyzes NCL and reveals that the training of NCL (when λ = 1) corresponds to training the entire ensemble as a single learning machine that only minimizes the MSE without regularization. This analysis explains the reason why NCL is prone to overtitting the noise in the training set. This paper also demonstrates that tuning the correlation parameter λ in NCL by cross validation cannot overcome the overfitting problem. The paper analyzes this problem and proposes the regularized negative correlation learning (RNCL) algorithm which incorporates an additional regularization term for the whole ensemble. RNCL decomposes the ensemble's training objectives, including MSE and regularization, into a set of sub-objectives, and each sub-objective is implemented by an individual neural network. In this paper, we also provide a Bayesian interpretation for RNCL and provide an automatic algorithm to optimize regularization parameters based on Bayesian inference. The RNCL formulation is applicable to any nonlinear estimator minimizing the MSE. The experiments on synthetic as well as real-world data sets demonstrate that RNCL achieves better performance than NCL, especially when the noise level is nontrivial in the data set. This paper introduces a general framework for describing dynamic neural networks—the layered digital dynamic network (LDDN). This framework allows the development of two general algorithms for computing the gradients and Jacobians for these dynamic networks: backpropagation-through-time (BPTT) and real-time recurrent learning (RTRL). The structure of the LDDN framework enables an efficient implementation of both algorithms for arbitrary dynamic networks. Original Hebbian encoding scheme of bidirectional associative memory (BAM) provides a poor pattern capacity and recall performance. Based on Rosenblatt's perceptron learning algorithm, the pattern capacity of BAM is enlarged, and perfect recall of all training pattern pairs is guaranteed. However, these methods put their emphases on pattern capacity, rather than error correction capability which is another critical point of BAM. This paper analyzes the sensitivity to noise in RAM and obtains an interesting idea to improve noise immunity of BAM. Some researchers have found that the noise sensitivity of BAM relates to the minimum absolute value of net inputs (MAV). However, in this paper, the analysis on failure association shows that it is related not only to MAV but also to the variance of weights associated with synapse connections. In fact, it is a positive monotone increasing function of the quotient of MAV divided by the variance of weights. This idea provides an useful principle of improving error correction capability of RAM. Some revised encoding schemes, such as small variance learning for RAM (SVBAM), evolutionary pseudorelaxation learning for BAM (EPRLAB) and evolutionary bidirectional learning (EBL), have been introduced to illustrate the performance of this principle. All these methods perform better than their original versions in noise immunity. Moreover, these methods have no negative effect on the pattern capacity of BAM. The convergence of these methods is also discussed in this paper. If there exist solutions, EPRLAB and EBL always converge to a global optimal solution in the senses of both, pattern capacity and noise immunity. This paper presents a new sequential learning algorithm for radial basis function (RBF) networks referred to as generalized growing and pruning algorithm for RBF (GGAP-RBF). The paper first introduces the concept of significance for the hidden neurons and then uses it in the learning algorithm to realize parsimonious networks. The growing and pruning strategy of GGAP-RBF is based on linking the required learning accuracy with the significance of the nearest or intentionally added new neuron. Significance of a neuron is a measure of the average information content of that neuron. The GGAP-RBF algorithm can be used for any arbitrary sampling density for training samples and is derived from a rigorous statistical point of view. Simulation re- suits for bench mark problems in the function approximation area show that the GGAP-RBF outperforms several other sequential learning algorithms in terms of learning speed, network size and generalization performance regardless of the sampling density function of the training data. With the aim of getting understandable symbolic rules to explain a given phenomenon, we split the task of learning these rules from sensory data in two phases: a multilayer perceptron maps features into propositional variables and a set of subsequent layers operated by a PAC-like algorithm learns Boolean expressions on these variables. The special features of this procedure are that: i) the neural network is trained to produce a Boolean output having the principal task of discriminating between classes of inputs; ii) the symbolic part is directed to compute rules within a family that is not known a priori; iii) the welding point between the two learning systems is represented by a feedback based on a suitability evaluation of the computed rules. The procedure we propose is based on a computational learning paradigm set up recently in some papers in the fields of theoretical computer science, artificial intelligence and cognitive systems. The present article focuses on information management aspects of the procedure. We deal with the lack of prior information about the rules through learning strategies that affect both the meaning of the variables and the description length of the rules into which they combine. This paper focuses on image filtering using weighted median (WM) filters, a nonlinear filter class taking advantages of the robust order-statistic theory and capability to adapt a filter behavior for a variety of statistics related to the desired signals and the noise distributions. The main contribution of the paper is the analysis of the four WM optimization schemes, namely genetic WM optimization, non-adaptive WM optimization algorithm and adaptive WM filtering utilizing the linear and the sigmoidal approximation of the sign function. The analysis is done by extensive simulations, in which several features such as noise reduction, edge preservation, error estimation and dependence of error criteria on the degree of the impulse noise corruption, are examined. In classification, noise may deteriorate the system performance and increase the complexity of the models built. In order to mitigate its consequences, several approaches have been proposed in the literature. Among them, noise filtering, which removes noisy examples from the training data, is one of the most used techniques. This paper proposes a new noise filtering method that combines several filtering strategies in order to increase the accuracy of the classification algorithms used after the filtering process. The filtering is based on the fusion of the predictions of several classifiers used to detect the presence of noise. We translate the idea behind multiple classifier systems, where the information gathered from different models is combined, to noise filtering. In this way, we consider the combination of classifiers instead of using only one to detect noise. Additionally, the proposed method follows an iterative noise filtering scheme that allows us to avoid the usage of detected noisy examples in each new iteration of the filtering process. Finally, we introduce a noisy score to control the filtering sensitivity, in such a way that the amount of noisy examples removed in each iteration can be adapted to the necessities of the practitioner. The first two strategies (use of multiple classifiers and iterative filtering) are used to improve the filtering accuracy, whereas the last one (the noisy score) controls the level of conservation of the filter removing potentially noisy examples. The validity of the proposed method is studied in an exhaustive experimental study. We compare the new filtering method against several state-of-the-art methods to deal with datasets with class noise and study their efficacy in three classifiers with different sensitivity to noise. Clustering is an essential tool in data mining research and applications. It is the subject of active research in many fields of study, such as computer science, data science, statistics, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Several clustering techniques have been proposed and implemented, and most of them successfully find excellent quality or optimal clustering results in the domains mentioned earlier. However, there has been a gradual shift in the choice of clustering methods among domain experts and practitioners alike, which is precipitated by the fact that most traditional clustering algorithms still depend on the number of clusters provided a priori. These conventional clustering algorithms cannot effectively handle real-world data clustering analysis problems where the number of clusters in data objects cannot be easily identified. Also, they cannot effectively manage problems where the optimal number of clusters for a high-dimensional dataset cannot be easily determined. Therefore, there is a need for improved, flexible, and efficient clustering techniques. Recently, a variety of efficient clustering algorithms have been proposed in the literature, and these algorithms produced good results when evaluated on real-world clustering problems. This study presents an up-to-date systematic and comprehensive review of traditional and state-of-the-art clustering techniques for different domains. This survey considers clustering from a more practical perspective. Since the mid 1960s, researchers in computer science have famously referred to chess as the ‘drosophila’ of artificial intelligence (AI). What they seem to mean by this is that chess, like the common fruit fly, is an accessible, familiar, and relatively simple experimental technology that nonetheless can be used productively to produce valid knowledge about other, more complex systems. But for historians of science and technology, the analogy between chess and drosophila assumes a larger significance. As Robert Kohler has ably described, the decision to adopt drosophila as the organism of choice for genetics research had far-reaching implications for the development of 20th century biology. In a similar manner, the decision to focus on chess as the measure of both human and computer intelligence had important and unintended consequences for AI research. This paper explores the emergence of chess as an experimental technology, its significance in the developing research practices of the AI community, and the unique ways in which the decision to focus on chess shaped the program of AI research in the decade of the 1970s. Abstract: The objective of this paper is to present an efficient hardware architecture for generalized Hebbian algorithm (GHA). In the architecture, the principal component computation and weight vector updating of the GHA are operated in parallel, so that the throughput of the circuit can be significantly enhanced. In addition, the weight vector updating process is separated into a number of stages for lowering area costs and increasing computational speed. To show the effectiveness of the circuit, a texture classification system based on the proposed architecture is designed. It is embedded in a system-on-programmable-chip (SOPC) platform for physical performance measurement. Abstract: Last few years have witnessed the development of various multi-objective evolutionary algorithms since they allow the generation of the overall Pareto front for multi-objective optimizations. With the problems in the real-world becoming more and more complex, however, no reported work in the literature focuses on the high-dimensional objective optimizations (HOPs). In this paper, we propose an evolutionary algorithm named HOEA (high-dimensional objective evolutionary algorithm) for HOPs. By adopting the concept of nonlinear definition for optimizing object, HOPs can be solved by HOEA, while the well-known multi-objective evolutionary algorithms work poorly on HOPs. We further analyze the nonlinear dynamic properties of HOEA on the basis of martingale theoretical framework. The theoretical results indicate that this new algorithm is indeed capable of achieving convergence. We also conduct experiments on HOEA with two representative test instances. Abstract: This paper presents an error detection methodology to enable fault detection inspired on recent immune theory. The fault detection problem is a challenging problem due to processes increasing complexity and agility necessary to avoid malfunction or accidents. The key challenge is determining the difference between normal and potential harmful activities. A promising solution is emerging in the form of Artificial Immune System (AIS). In this article, Natural Killer (NK) immune cells mechanisms inspired an AIS. The AIS proposed uses recent biological mechanism such as: NK activation and education machinery. DAMADICS benchmark was applied to compare the proposed AIS performance to others fault detection algorithms. The width of a resolution proof is the maximal number of literals in any clause of the proof. The space of a proof is the maximal number of clauses kept in memory simultaneously if the proof is only allowed to infer new clauses from clauses currently in memory. Both of these measures have previously been studied and related to the resolution refutation size of unsatisfiable conjunctive normal form (CNF) formulas. Also, the minimum refutation space of a formula has been proven to be at least as large as the minimum refutation width, but it has been open whether space can be separated from width or the two measures coincide asymptotically. We prove that there is a family of k-CNF formulas for which the refutation width in resolution is constant but the refutation space is nonconstant, thus solving a problem mentioned in several previous papers. This paper presents a new approach, known as symmetry axis based feature extraction and recognition (SAFER), for recognizing objects under translation, rotation and scaling. Unlike most previous invariant object recognition (IOR) systems, SAFER puts emphasis on both simplicity and accuracy of the recognition system. To achieve simplicity, it uses simple formulae for extracting invariant features from an object. The scheme used in feature extraction is based on the axis of symmetry and angles of concentric circles drawn around the object. SAFER divides the extracted features into a number of groups based on their similarity. To improve the recognition performance, SAFER uses a number of neural networks (NNs) instead of single NN are used for training and recognition of extracted features. The new approach, SAFER, has been tested on two of real world problems i.e., English characters with two different fonts and images of different shapes. The shortest path problem, one of the most classical graph problems, has been addressed in many different ways suitable for various settings in the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence. In this paper, we revisit a distributed control solution, namely the continuous-time adaptive Bellman–Ford algorithm, to the shortest path problem. While previous work only concerned its global asymptotic stability, we not only prove its global asymptotic stability by formulating a Lyapunov function, but characterize the initial conditions under which the algorithm will converge exponentially, and show that the algorithm is globally ultimately bounded under persistent bounded perturbations based on the proposed Lyapunov function. Assembly line balancing problems are concerned with the optimization of manufacturing processes. In this paper we consider the so-called simple assembly line balancing problem with the objective of minimizing the number of used workstations. This problem is denoted by SALB-1 in the literature. For tackling this problem, we present a so-called Beam-ACO approach. This technique results from hybridizing the metaheuristic ant colony optimization with beam search. Abstract: Many well-known problems in Artificial Intelligence can be formulated in terms of systems of constraints. The problem of testing the satisfiability of propositional formulae (SAT) is of special importance due to its numerous applications in theoretical computer science and Artificial Intelligence. A brute-force algorithm for SAT will have exponential time complexity , where is the number of Boolean variables of the formula. Unfortunately, more sophisticated approaches such as resolution result in similar performances in the worst case. In this paper, we present a simple and relatively efficient parallel divide-and-conquer method to solve various subclasses of SAT. The dissection stage of the parallel algorithm splits the original formula into smaller subformulae with only a bounded number of interacting variables. In particular, we derive a parallel algorithm for the class of formulae whose corresponding graph representation is planar. Our parallel algorithm for planar 3-SAT has the worst-case performance of on a PRAM (parallel random access model) computer. Inspired by the self/nonself discrimination theory of the natural immune system, the negative selection algorithm (NSA) is an emerging computational intelligence method. Generally, detectors in the original NSA are first generated in a random manner. However, those detectors matching the self samples are eliminated thereafter. The remaining detectors can therefore be employed to detect any anomaly. Unfortunately, conventional NSA detectors are not adaptive for dealing with time-varying circumstances. In the present paper, a novel neural networks-based NSA is proposed. The principle and structure of this NSA are discussed, and its training algorithm is derived. Taking advantage of efficient neural networks training, it has the distinguishing capability of adaptation, which is well suited for handling dynamical problems. A fault diagnosis scheme using the new NSA is also introduced. Two illustrative simulation examples of anomaly detection in chaotic time series and inner raceway fault diagnosis of motor bearings demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed neural networks-based NSA. Line flow or real-power contingency selection and ranking is performed to choose the contingencies that cause the worst overloading problems. In this paper, a cascade neural network-based approach is proposed for fast line flow contingency selection and ranking. The developed cascade neural network is a combination of a filter module and a ranking module. All the contingency cases are applied to the filter module, which is trained to classify them either in critical contingency class or in non-critical contingency class using a modified BP algorithm. The screened critical contingencies are passed to the ranking module (four-layered feed-forward artificial neural network (ANN)) for their further ranking. Effectiveness of the proposed ANN-based method is demonstrated by applying it for contingency screening and ranking at different loading conditions for IEEE 14-bus system. Once trained, the cascade neural network gives fast and accurate screening and ranking for unknown patterns and is found to be suitable for on-line applications at energy management centre. This is the second part of a two-part paper where we propose, model theoretically and study a general notion of recombination for fixed-length strings where homologous recombination, inversion, gene duplication, gene deletion, diploidy and more are just special cases. In Part I, we derived both microscopic and coarse-grained evolution equations for strings and schemata for a selecto-recombinative GA using generalised recombination, and we explained the hierarchical nature of the schema evolution equations. In this part, we provide a variety of fixed points for evolution in the case where recombination is used alone, thereby generalising Geiringer's theorem. In addition, we numerically integrate the infinite-population schema equations for some interesting problems, where selection and recombination are used together to illustrate how these operators interact. Finally, to assess by how much genetic drift can make a system deviate from the infinite-population-model predictions we discuss the results of real GA runs for the same model problems with generalised recombination, selection and finite populations of different sizes. Abstract: This paper proposes a new algorithm for a class of binary images thinning by using two PCNNs (pulse coupled neural networks). Once the travelling pulses of the two PCNNs meet, the thinning result is obtained. The criterion of pulses meeting is given, and the parameters of the PCNNs are also specified, which make the implementation of the proposed thinning algorithm easier. The algorithm is used to thin such a class of binary images, which separate the original images into two regions, as circularity-like images and ribbon-like shapes. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient in extracting the skeleton of images (such as circularity-like images, ribbon-like shapes, handwriting ‘0’, etc.). To generate a proper Korean predicate, a natural modal expression is the most important factor for a machine translation (MT) system. Tense, aspect, mood, negation, and voice are the major constituents related to modal expression. The linguistic encoding of a modal expression is quite different between Chinese and Korean in terms of linguistic typology and genealogy. In this paper, a new applicable categorization of Korean modality system viz. tense, aspect, mood, negation, and voice, will be proposed through a contrastive analysis of Chinese and Korean from the viewpoint of a practical MT system. In order to precisely determine the modal expression, effective feature selection frameworks for Chinese are presented with a variety of machine learning methods. This paper proposes an information system that classifies Web pages according a taxonomy, which is mainly used from seven search engines/directories. The proposed classifier is a four-layer generalised regression neural network (GRNN) that aims to perform the information segmentation according to information filtering techniques using content descriptor vectors. Eight categories of Web pages were used in order to evaluate the robustness of the method, while no restrictions were imposed except for the language of the content, which is English. Fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM) with spatial constraints (FCM_S) is an effective algorithm suitable for image segmentation. Its effectiveness contributes not only to the introduction of fuzziness for belongingness of each pixel but also to exploitation of spatial contextual information. Although the contextual information can raise its Insensitivity to noise to some extent, FCM_S still lacks enough robustness to noise and outliers and is not suitable for revealing non-Euclidean structure of the input data due to the use of Euclidean distance (L2 norm). In this paper, to overcome the above problems, we first propose two variants, FCMS1 and FCMS2, of FCM_S to aim at simplifying its computation and then extend them, including FCM_S, to corresponding robust kernelized versions KFCM_S, KFCMS1 and KFCMS2 by the kernel methods. Our main motives of using the kernel methods consist in: inducing a class of robust non-Euclidean distance measures for the original data space to derive new objective functions and thus clustering the non-Euclidean structures in data; enhancing robustness of the original clustering algorithms to noise and outliers, and still retaining computational simplicity. This paper presents a fast Neural Network algorithm, in which the step is regarded as the function of the error and the output function of network node, and weight is calculated by different step. By adopting the fast NN algorithm, we developed a speaker-independent speech recognition system. Kinematic analysis is often performed in a lab using optical cameras combined with reflective markers. With the advent of artificial intelligence techniques such as deep neural networks, it is now possible to perform such analyses without markers, making outdoor applications feasible. In this paper I summarise 2D markerless approaches for estimating joint angles, highlighting their strengths and limitations. In computer science, so-called "pose estimation" algorithms have existed for many years. These methods involve training a neural network to detect features (e.g. anatomical landmarks) using a process called supervised learning, which requires "training" images to be manually annotated. Manual labelling has several limitations, including labeller subjectivity, the requirement for anatomical knowledge, and issues related to training data quality and quantity. Neural networks typically require thousands of training examples before they can make accurate predictions, so training datasets are usually labelled by multiple people, each of whom has their own biases, which ultimately affects neural network performance. A recent approach, called transfer learning, involves modifying a model trained to perform a certain task so that it retains some learned features and is then re-trained to perform a new task. This can drastically reduce the required number of training images. Although development is ongoing, existing markerless systems may already be accurate enough for some applications, e.g. coaching or rehabilitation. Accuracy may be further improved by leveraging novel approaches and incorporating realistic physiological constraints, ultimately resulting in low-cost markerless systems that could be deployed both in and outside of the lab.
