The paper explores the role of entrepreneurship education and training amongst women entrepreneurs to promote agritourism sector of the Indian economy. This study employ qualitative and quantitative approaches to gather data questionnaires survey and in-depth face to face interviews, based on a semi-structured questionnaire. The research involved a matched sample of 10 registered farmers (from the Punjab Heritage Tourism Promotion Board) and 200 unregistered male and female farmers selected randomly from the Indian State of Punjab. Quantitative analysis suggests that there is a direct and significant impact of EET on the management, efficiency, and use of farming land. The findings also suggested that the fall in the agricultural productivity due to labour shortages; revenue losses are rising as commodity prices are falling. Therefore, it is not a surprise that farmers seek to supplement income through alternative means to enhance their socio-economic stability and viability. The findings suggest that there is high incidence of migration amongst male farming population and female farmers lack EET and reluctance on their part to work with external male population. However, analysis of male owner-managers of micro and small agritourist firms also reported to have lower levels of EET and hence the need for EET male and females; thus, EET and adequate access to finance were two major determinants of agritourist firms' success in Indian Punjab. There is growing concern regarding the slower advancement of women in workplace across the globe. As per the recent reports, the percentage of women at leadership level in Fortune 500 companies is only 4.8% (Fortune 500 report, 2019) and 5.4% in S&P Companies (Catalyst, 2019). India which is one of the emerging economies of the world scores one of the lowest in terms of proportion of women leaders. The female labour participation in India is only 24% (World Bank Report, 2019). As per the ILO Report (2018), the percentage of women at entry level in India is 24% of which 19% reach the senior management level and only 2.7% hold the top leadership positions. The statistics clearly depicts that the problem is not only at the top where the percentage is low but the sudden decline once women reach the mid-career stage. A report by Mckinsey (2018) terms this as 'hollow middle' where significantly fewer women are left in the pipeline to gain the positions at the top. Thus, it becomes imperative to focus on the women at this stage as they are closer to taking up leadership roles however are unable to reach there as they hit the so-called 'glass ceiling7 which creates a barrier for further advancement. Using a qualitative study, the authors conducted in-depth interview of 30 mid-career women professionals across various sectors such as banking, financial services and information technology. Analysis of interviews revealed set of organisational barriers such as covert discriminatory practices, masculine work culture, lack of workplace flexibility, and the individual barriers like balancing work life responsibilities, lack of confidence. The paper includes recommendations to improve the percentage of women, overcome organizational and individual barriers in the workforce so that women leadership can be promoted at workplace. Knowledge creation in firms gives competitive advantage, increases innovation, offers novel ideas, and makes companies more robust during dubious times. Although literature on knowledge creation has mainly been addressed to larger organizations, its importance in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remains largely unexplored with only a few authors attempting to study the barriers to knowledge creation. Even less studies exist studying Indian perspectives. Thus, this paper will investigate the barriers to knowledge creation by looking at the barriers existing towards knowledge creating in Indian SMEs and at the levels at which these barriers to knowledge creation exist. The identified barriers include lack of empowering leadership and recognition thereof, lack of monetary fairness, lack of trust, and lack of expressive ties being grouped into organizational and individual barriers for knowledge creation in SMEs. Based on these, a proposed model and four further propositions for future studies are presented, since the findings of our study are based on limited sampling. International projects and business relations are high-risk undertakings. There may be a high risk of failure for businesses if the risks are underrated. In the last few decades India has arisen as the leading IT outsourcing option, mainly due to the relatively low costs and high levels of IT expertise on offer. However, while India seems to be, at first sight, the most profitable outsourcing option for businesses, when all risks for managing a typical offshore project are taken into account, investment in India through such projects can be very cost intensive. These risk-factors involve for example miscommunications, lack of management control and high turnover of vendor employees. This paper presents the results of 20 expert interviews using a multiple case study design and proves that lower risks exist with a nearshore partner due to cultural, geographic and time proximity.
