Direct air capture (DAC) is a sustainable technology to alleviate the greenhouse effect and a reliable pathway to acquire inexhaustible CO2 for the production of costly chemicals and energy products. Current DAC technologies with amine‐related sorbents rely on chemisorption, while they consume intensive energy for CO2 release and sorbent regeneration by heating. Developing new DAC processes with weak, reversible adsorption can substantially reduce the regeneration energies. Herein, the design of CO2 breathing paper (CBP) is demonstrated toward spontaneous CO2 extraction from ambient air and solar‐driven regeneration. The CBP is fabricated by coupling 2‐ethyl‐4‐methylimidazole to carbon nanotube paper on the basis of density functional theory calculations. At ambient conditions, CBP spontaneously captures atmospheric CO2 with a capacity of 0.14–1.75 mmol g–1 at 0–35 °C through non‐covalent electrostatic interaction. Upon exposure to sunlight, all adsorbed CO2 can be released and converted to concentrated gas for storage. Attractively, the efficiency of solar‐driven CO2 release is much higher than the traditional temperature‐swing method owing to the IR sensitivity of CO2. • Two Fe3+ fluorescent probes based D-A type imidazole derivatives have been developed, which possessed a relatively great selectivity and sensitivity. • The probe molecules showed a relatively rare fluorescence color change response to Fe3+, its fluorescence changed from deep-blue to green. • The fluorescence sensing behavior of the probe molecules to Fe3+ was also applied to realize the rewritable paper in a very simple way. D-A type fluorescent probe usually shows a fluorescence quenching response to Fe3+, and relatively few probes can exhibit the fluorescence color change response. Herein, two high-luminescence D-A type imidazole derivatives TPABM and TPAFM were synthesized and used as Fe3+ fluorescent probes with an obvious fluorescence color change and remarkable sensing performance. Upon the addition of Fe3+, the original emission of TPABM and TPAFM was quenched, while a new emission peak emerged in the red-shifted direction, resulting in the fluorescence color changing from deep blue to green. This phenomenon may be caused by the coordination between the molecular imidazole ring and Fe3+ with a 1:1 ratio, which efficiently decreased the LUMO energy level of the probe molecules and formed a new CT emission with a lower energy gap. Furthermore, the probe molecules exhibited the potential for detecting Fe3+ in actual water samples and could be appropriated for the preparation of rewritable paper using a simple method. By using filter paper soaked with probe molecules as writing paper, Fe3+ aqueous solution as ink, and NaF aqueous solution as an eraser, the cycle of fluorescence writing and erasing was realized under UV irradiation. Targeted therapy has the potential to be used in the neoadjuvant setting for odontogenic tumors, reducing the morbidities associated with major surgery. In this regard, the aim of this study was to summarize the current evidence on the different forms of targeted therapy, effectiveness, and drawbacks of this course of treatment. Four databases were searched electronically without regard to publication date or language. Grey literature searches and manual searches were also undertaken. Publications with sufficient clinical data on targeted therapy for odontogenic tumors were required to meet the criteria for eligibility. The analysis of the data was descriptive. A total of 15 papers comprising 17 cases (15 ameloblastomas and 2 ameloblastic carcinomas) were included. Numerous mutations were found, with BRAF V600E being most common. Dabrafenib was the most utilized drug in targeted therapy. Except for one case, the treatment reduced the size of the lesion (16/17 cases), showing promise. Most of the adverse events recorded were mild, such as skin issues, voice changes, abnormal hair texture, dry eyes, and systemic symptoms (e.g., fatigue, joint pain, and nausea). It is possible to reach the conclusion that targeted therapy for ameloblastoma and ameloblastic carcinoma may be a useful treatment strategy, based on the findings of the included studies. Transition metal sulfides with designed nanostructures are expected to provide superior electrochemical performance when used as electrode materials for pseudocapacitors compared to their oxide counterparts. In this paper, hollow Co3S4 dodecahedra were successfully prepared using cobalt‐based zeolite imidazolium skeleton (ZIF‐67) as the precursor and thioacetamide (TAA) as the sulfur source combined with a facile one‐step vulcanization process. The hollow cavity structure not only shortens the carrier transport distance but also provides a higher specific surface area and abundant active sites, which promotes an efficient mass transfer process. In addition, the one‐step synthesis of hollow Co3S4 has greater advantages than the one‐step synthesis in terms of cost control and process simplification. The specific capacitance of the produced hollow Co3S4 nanopolyhedra was 668 F/g at 1 A/g and remained at 353 F/g at 10 A/g when used as a pseudocapacitor electrode, demonstrating its superior multiplication capability. In addition, the capacitance retention is 86.4% after 5000 cycles at 4 A/g, indicating its long cycle stability. Notably, employing commercial activated carbon as negative electrode and the as‐prepared hollow Co3S4 polyhedrons as positive electrode, the assembled asymmetry supercapacitor device delivers a high energy density of 20.7 Wh/kg at a power density of 716 kW/kg. The capacitance value of the device remains up to 81.4% after 2000 charging/discharging cycles. Imidazole is a five-membered heterocyclic ring containing three carbon atoms, two nitrogen atoms, and two double bonds. Among two nitrogen atoms, one of which carries with a hydrogen atom is a pyrrole-type nitrogen atom, another is a pyridine type nitrogen atom. Hence, the imidazole ring belongs to the π electron-rich aromatic ring and can accept strong suction to the electronic group. Moreover, the nitrogen atom of the imidazole ring is coordinated with metal ions to form metal-organic frameworks. In recent years, because of imidazole compounds' unique optical properties, their applications have attracted more and more attention in optical analysis. Thus, this review has summarized the synthesis, characterization, and application with emphasis on the research progress of imidazole compounds in optical analysis, including fluorescence probe, colorimetric probe, electrochemiluminescence sensor, fiber optical sensor, surface plasmon resonance, etc. This paper will suggest the direction for the development of imidazole-containing sensors with high sensitivity and selectivity. Molecules that have an imidazole ring in their structure show different biological effects, the most important of which are antifungal, antibacterial, and medical properties. In this paper, we reported that copper (I) iodide supported on the surface of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles modified with 3,4-diaminobenzoic acid [Fe3O4@Diamine-CuI] is a new, recoverable, and highly efficient nanocatalyst for the preparation of 2,4,5-trisubstituted imidazoles through the one-pot three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes with benzil and ammonium acetate as the nitrogen source at refluxing water. The structure of the as-constructed Fe3O4@Diamine-CuI nanomaterial is well characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, SEM, EDX, TEM, XRD, VSM, EDX elemental mapping, and ICP-OES techniques. It is worth mentioning that the Fe3O4@Diamine-CuI nanocatalyst was easily separated from the reaction medium using a magnetic magnet and could be reused for 8 times without reducing its catalytic activity. The advantages of this catalytic system include ecofriendly conditions, easy separation of the catalyst, ability to recycle the catalyst, low cost, very short reaction time, water as the solvent, and simple purification of the products. A novel three-dimensional terbium (III)-based metal-organic framework, [Tb(TDC)(µ 2 -CH 3 COO)(H 2 O)] (Tb-MOF , H 2 TDC = 2,5-thiophenedicar-boxylic acid), was designedly synthesized with TDC ligands under solvothermal conditions. The Tb-MOF features a 3D network constructed by bridging a 2D wave-like network connected by TDC ligands with monodentate coordination modes to form a 3D net framework. Furthermore, by applying Tb-MOF as a fluorescent probe, a convenient and rapid sensor was constructed for the sensing of nitroimidazole antibiotics, including metronidazole (MDZ), dimetridazole (DTZ), and ornidazole (ODZ). Ferrocenyl aniline is an excellent catalyst used conventionally for heterocyclic syntheses. The use of ferrocenyl aniline, in the presence of electropolymerized thiophene-3-acetic acid (TAA) on carbon fibre paper is novel and found to be an exceptional electrocatalyst, for the synthesis of a proven anti-fungal, anti-proliferative and anti-bacterial, 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1 H -benzo[ d ]imidazole. The electrode performance was examined with activity studies and EIS, along with surface characterizations including optical profilometry, FE-SEM, FT-IR and XPS. The synthesis was performed in a single-cell three electrode system, using platinum as counter and saturated calomel electrode (SCE) as the reference, with ethanol as the electrolyte and lithium perchlorate supporting electrolyte. The reaction was performed with o- phenylenediamine and anisaldehyde as starting materials at ambient temperature and pressure, at 1.35 V constant potential for 3 h, and product was isolated and purified using column chromatography to obtain 91% yield and characterized with GC–MS and NMR. • Preparation of diverse DATNBI crystal structures through molecular self-assembly. • Introducing crystal defects to enhance the light absorption performance of DATNBI. • The self-sustaining combustion of DATNBI without photosensitizer under NIR laser is achieved. • The electron-hole recombination in the defect state is induced by laser radiation to enhance photothermal conversion. Although laser ignition is considered to be one of the most promising ways to detonate energetic materials due to its high safety and reliability, it is still a challenge to achieve direct ignition of energetic materials by a laser with low-power and near-infrared (NIR) band. In this paper, a molecular self-assembly strategy based on recrystallization was utilized to prepare 4,4′,5,5′-tetranitro-1H,1′H-[2,2′-biimidazole]-1,1′-diamine (DATNBI) crystals with various micro-nano structures. The characterization results suggest that DATNBI crystals with different degrees of roughness and defects by the induction of solvents and surfactants. The crystal defects can not only bring about the enhancement of light absorption of DATNBI in NIR band, but also advance its thermal decomposition, providing reliable support for direct laser ignition of DATNBI profit from the hot spot ignition theory. Combined with density functional theory, it is speculated that electrons of defect states achieve electron-hole recombination by laser radiation, thereby enhancing photothermal conversion. Compared with raw DATNBI, DATNBI crystals with rough surface and abundant defects can be directly ignited by a NIR laser and exhibits self-sustainable combustion. In this paper, three imidazole- and C18- bifunctional silica stationary phases (Sil-Im-C18) were prepared by adjusting introduction interval of octadecyltrichlorosilane (ODS) and 3-imidazol-1-ylpropyl(trimethoxy)silane (TMPImS), which can be used for reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) and ion exchange chromatography (IEC) with adjustable performance. The successful preparation of Sil-Im-C18 were confirmed by the characterizations of elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and contact angle (CA). Chromatographic performance of Sil-Im-C18 were evaluated by the separation of Tanaka test mixture, alkylbenzenes, linear PAHs and a set of analytes with different properties (uracil, phenol, 1,2-dinitrobenzene and naphthalene), and compared with commonly used C18 column. It was found that the chromatographic performance of Sil-Im-C18 changed significantly with the difference in bonding amount of imidazole and C18. Sil-Im-C18 demonstrated the excellent separation performance towards polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), phenylesters, phenylamines, phenols and inorganic anions, and notably, nucleobases and nucleosides can be separated using pure water as mobile phases. The van Deemter plot showed that the column efficiency of Sil-Im-C18-3 was 64,933 plate· m −1 for naphthalene, indicated that Sil-Im-C18 was reasonably chromatographic columns. The RSD values of retention time were 0.22 %-0.61 % for 10 needles alkylbenzenes injected continuously at 50 °C to investigate thermal stability and repeatability, all the fluctuations of k of naphthalene were less than 2.3 % for Sil-Im-C18-1 during flushing 24 h with the mobile phase at different pH values (pH = 3 and 8), the retention time of alkylbenzenes were almost same for Sil-Im-C18-1 at different time, the RSD values of retention time of alkylbenzenes were 0.45 %-2.28 % for two batches Sil-Im-C18-1, revealing the excellent repeatability, thermal stability, durability and reproducibility of Sil-Im-C18, and implying a commercial prospect. Generating electricity from seawater by utilizing nanofluidic structures is an appealing strategy for achieving zero-emission energy goals. A nanofluidic channel that is atomically small, tunable, and mechanically stable is the key to solving this problem. In this paper, for the first time, we report the construction of centimeter-sized freestanding zinc-imidazole complex (ZnIm) intercalated graphene oxide (GO) membrane (GO-ZnIm) having uniform 2D nanofluidic channels with interlayer spacing of 9 Å. The pristine GO membrane rapidly disintegrates in an aqueous medium due to membrane swelling; however, treatment with an aqueous zeolitic imidazole framework (ZIF-8) suspension, rendering ZnIm complex, provides long-term stability by restricting the excessive interlayer separation of GO sheets. From ion transport, diffusion, and variable load studies, it is observed that, besides stabilizing the GO membrane, intercalation of ZnIm significantly improves average cation selectivity (from 0.46 for GO to 0.74 for GO-ZnIm , measured up to 1000 concentration gradient) and experimental power density (from 1.7 Wm−2 for GO to 10.8 Wm−2 for GO-ZnIm , at 1000 concentration gradient). Moreover, the practical applicability of the GO-ZnIm membrane has also been investigated under artificial estuary conditions at ambient temperature, rendering an osmotic power density of 4.5 Wm−2, which is very close to the commercial benchmark of 5 Wm−2. A mechanically robust and flexible membrane made up of cost-effective components (GO and ZnIm), able to deliver an osmotic power density close to commercial benchmark at ambient temperature is the main highlight of the present GO-ZnIm membrane, which can be a promising candidate for applications such as separation, desalination, and blue energy harvesting. In the present work, a simple and highly selective colorimetric chemosensor (CS-02) , was designed and synthesized from 5(4) - amino-4(5) -(amino carbonyl)-imidazole hydrochloride and 5-(4-chloro phenyl) furan-2-carbaldehyde. The formation of the CS-02 (E)-5-amino-N-((5-(4-chlorophenyl) furan-2-yl) methylene)-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide was confirmed by 1HNMR and Mass spectral techniques. The receptor CS-02 was found to show a colorimetric response of the colour change from Light yellow to Cyber yellow towards CN− ion, due to de-protonation and intra-ligand charge transfer. The receptor CS-02 interacts with cyanide in a 1:1 stoichiometric manner with a detection limit of 10.39 × 10−5 M. Receptor CS-02 could be recyclable by treatment with TFA. The sensing behaviour of the receptor was further enunciated by computational studies and it's also be efficiently used to detect trace amounts of cyanide present in Real samples such as tobacco, flax seeds, apple seeds, cigarette and Indian cigarette. The research in the paper focused in the development of ecologically favorable inhibitor via microwave method. The inhibitor namely N-(2-(2-pentadecyl-2,5-dihydro-1H-imidazole-1-yl)ethyl)palmitamide palmitate, a derivative of imidazole (IPP) was synthesized in one single step and screened its inhibitive property in strongly acidic medium (15 % HCl) for protection of Q235 steel at 1500 rpm rotational speed. The study used for exploring the inhibition effect of IPP includes weight loss, Potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The estimated results confirmed the inhibition data of 97.41 % and 98.70 % at 308K with 200 mg/L/only IPP and IPP + KI/150 mg/L+0.5 mM respectively, and the influence of temperature has little effect over the inhibition property. The weight loss results show that the IPP belongs to a mixed-type corrosion inhibitor. The SEM, EDX, AFM, SKP, and contact angle analysis results showed that the IPP formed a film on the surface of Q235 steel through adsorption, which changed the hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties of the Q235 steel surface. Further XPS study confirmed the adsorption of IPP molecules over the Q235 steel surface. Synthetic cannabinoids (SCs) are a broad class of illicit drugs that are classified according to the chemical structure of the aromatic core that they present (i.e., indole, imidazole, pyrrole) and their detection is still a challenge, despite their widespread diffusion. The identification of a specific class of SC in complex matrices, such as real samples with a rapid, economic analytical device useable directly in the field, is highly desirable, as it can provide immediate and reliable information that eventually addresses more targeted analyses. The present paper proposes a Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (MIP)-based voltammetric sensor for the rapid and selective detection of indazole-type SCs. In this context, a polyacrylate-based MIP was used to functionalize a Pt electrode. The MIP composition was optimized through a Design of Experiments approach, and for the sake of safety, a non-psychotropic compound structurally related to the selected SCs was employed as the template in the MIP formulation. A complete characterization of the electrochemical behavior of the selected SCs was performed, and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in acetonitrile/lithium perchlorate 0.1 M was the technique applied for their quantification. LOD around 0.01 mM and linearity up to 0.8 mM were found. Comparison with the non-imprinted (NIP) modified and bare electrodes showed better selectivity and reproducibility of the MIP-based sensor. Recovery tests (in the 70–115 % range) were performed on simulated pills and smoking mixtures to test the reliability of the proposed method. The method proposed allows the identification and quantification of indazole-based SCs as a class in complex matrices. Due to the selectivity of the obtained device, no clean-up of the sample before analyses is needed. For the same reason, the interference of cutting substances and natural cannabinoids was negligible. • A three-dimensional crystal synthesized by carboxylic acid ligand and nitrogen-containing ligand. • The selective detection for Fe3+, Cr6+ and nitroimidazole antibiotics species in aqueous solution were investigated. • The quenching mechanism of the selective detection including theoretical calculation was presented. A novel complex of [Zn(L)(HEA)] n (1) has been successfully synthesized by hydrothermal method based on the double ligands of H 2 HEA (H 2 HEA = 1,2-Phenylenediacetic acid) and L (L = 1,1′-((2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3-phenylene)bis(methylene))bis(1H-1,2,4-triazole)). The single crystal structure of the complex was analyzed by X-ray single crystal diffraction, indicating that complex 1 was stacked into a 3D crystal structure through intermolecular π···π and C-H···π weak interaction. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, PXRD and TGA. Additionally, fluorescence experiments showed that complex 1 could be used as a fluorescent probe for detecting Fe(III), Cr(VI), and Metronidazole (MDZ), Ornidazole (ODZ), Dimetridazole (DTZ) in aqueous solutions. Detection limits were obtained for ions (3.2×10−7 M for Cr 2 O 7 2−, 5.4×10−7 M for CrO 4 2− and 3.6 × 10−7 M for Fe3+) and nitroimidazole antibiotics (1.3×10−7 M for MDZ, 9.7×10−8 M for ODZ and 4.4×10−8 M for DTZ). The possible fluorescence quenching mechanism has been studied in the paper. One novel complex, namely, [Zn(L)(HEA)] n (1) (L = 1,1′-((2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3-phenylene)bis(methylene))bis(1H-1,2,4-triazole), H 2 HEA = 1,2-phenylenediacetic acid) was synthesized. After in silico ADME prediction studies, we assessed the neuroprotective properties of selected compounds and beneficial effect in an in vitro model of Alzheimeŕs and Parkinson's disease. Along with their neuroprotective effect, compounds showed a potent anti-inflammatory response when evaluated in a neuroinflammation cellular model. Moreover, this is the first time that the neuroprotective effects of imidazoline I 2 -IR ligands in a transgenic Alzheimer's disease Caenorhabditis elegans strain are investigated. Using a thrashing assay, we found a significant cognition improvement in this in vivo model after treatment with the new bicyclic α-phosphoprolines. Therefore, our results confirmed the need of exploring structurally new I 2 -IR ligands and their potential for therapeutic strategies in neurodegeneration. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, we reported a new poly(diacetylenes)-based sensor (PDA-IBA) for silver ion detection and reduction through the chelation of imidazole moiety. The poly(diacetylenes) polymer functionalized with imidazole groups. As the concentration of silver ions in the solution increased, the PDA surface underwent oxidation concurrently with the reduction of silver ions was demonstrated through imidazole receptor. This chemical reaction resulted in a noticeable change in the color of the solution, shifting from blue to dark red. The limit of detection (LOD) was determined to be 0.034 mM. Zeta potential data analysis and electrochemical measurements further confirmed the PDA-IBA was capable to reduce Ag+ into Ag0. Moreover, the silver species produced were validated through inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Additionally, the color change observed in PDA-IBA as a response to silver ions was effectively demonstrated by integrating it into a paper-based sensor. This study introduces an innovative and promising approach for enhancing the capabilities of chemosensors in detecting and reducing Ag+.
