Fit‐out operations in modular construction exhibit unique features, such as limited room space and diversely distributed operations in the building. These features pose significant challenges to planning, scheduling, and execution (PSE) of fit‐out activities due to operational parallelism, distributional diversity, and narrower constrained time window in modular construction. Hence, logistics‐operation and multi‐operations synchronizations in a real‐time manner are crucial for PSE of modular construction fit‐out management. With the support of cutting‐edge information technologies, the real‐time data inside the generated digital twins can simplify online optimization models and convert stochastic factors into deterministic parameters. This paper formulates a novel real‐time data‐driven Out‐of‐Order (OoO) model for synchronized PSE in modular construction fit‐out management. Drawing inspiration from OoO mechanism in Central Processing Unit (CPU), a real‐time data‐driven and rolling‐horizon‐based OoO model is proposed for PSE of modular construction fit‐out, employing a forward heuristic algorithm for solution. Time–space–state data from digital twins are updated to facilitate dynamic decision‐making of managers. Through stochastic computational experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of OoO model in optimizing project metrics and the improved resilience in uncertain environments. Colleges and universities are large consumers of energy, with a huge potential for building energy efficiency, and need to reduce energy consumption to build a low-carbon, energy-saving campus. Predicting the energy consumption of campus buildings can help to accurately manage the electricity consumption of buildings and reduce the energy consumption of buildings. However, the electricity consumption of a building's operation is affected by many factors, and it is difficult to establish a model for analysis and prediction. Therefore, in this study, the training building of the BIM education center on campus was selected as the research object, and a digital twin O&M platform was established by integrating IoT, digital twin technology (DDT), smart meter monitoring devices, and indoor environment monitoring devices. The O&M management platform can monitor real-time changes in indoor power consumption data and environmental parameters, and organize data on multiple influencing factors and power consumption. Following training, validation, and testing, the machine learning models (back propagation neural network, support vector model, and multiple linear regression model) were assessed and compared for accuracy. Following the multiple linear regression and support vector models, the backpropagation neural network model exhibited the highest accuracy. Consistent with the actual power consumption detection results in the BIM education center, the backpropagation neural network model produced results. Consequently, the BP model created in this study demonstrated its dependability and ability to forecast campus building power usage, assisting the university in organizing its energy supply and creating a campus that prioritizes conservation. In recent years, the detection performance of SAR-GMTI (synthetic aperture radar-ground moving target indication) algorithm based on deep learning has always been limited by insufficient measured data due to the heavy operation complexity and high cost of real SAR systems. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an overall DT-based implementation framework for SAR ground moving target intelligent detection tasks. In particular, by virtue of a SAR imaging algorithm, a high-fidelity twin replica of SAR moving targets is established in digital space through parameter traversal based on the prior target characteristics of the obtained measured datasets. Then, the constructed SAR twin datasets is fed into the neural network model to train an intelligent detector by fully learning features of the moving targets and preset the SAR scene in the twin space, which can realize the robust detection of ground moving targets in related practical scenarios with no need for multiple and complex field experiments. Moreover, the effectiveness of the proposed framework is verified on the MiniSAR measured system, and a comparison with traditional CFAR detection method is given simultaneously. Solar radiation impacts diverse aspects of city life, such as harvesting energy with PV panels, passive heating of buildings in winter, cooling the loads of air-conditioning systems in summer, and the urban microclimate. Urban digital twins and 3D city models can support solar studies in the process of urban planning and provide valuable insights for data-driven decision support. This study examines the calculation of solar incident radiation at the city scale in Sofia using remote sensing data for the large shading context in a mountainous region and 3D building data. It aims to explore the methods of geometry optimisation, limitations, and performance issues of a 3D computer-aided design (CAD) tool dedicated to small-scale solar analysis and employed at the city scale. Two cases were considered at the city and district scales, respectively. The total face count of meshes for the simulations constituted approximately 2,000,000 faces. A total of 64,379 roofs for the whole city and 4796 buildings for one district were selected. All calculations were performed in one batch and visualised in a 3D web platform. The use of a 3D CAD environment establishes a seamless process of updating 3D models and simulations, while preprocessing in Geographic Information System (GIS) ensures working with large-scale datasets. This review focuses on the definitions, modalities, applications, and performance of various aspects of digital twins (DTs) in the context of transmission and industrial machinery. In this regard, the context around Industry 4.0 and even aspirations for Industry 5.0 are discussed. The many definitions and interpretations of DTs in this domain are first summarized. Subsequently, their adoption and performance levels for rotating and industrial machineries for manufacturing and lifetime performance are observed, along with the type of validations that are available. A significant focus on integrating fundamental operations of the system and scenarios over the lifetime, with sensors and advanced machine or deep learning, along with other statistical or data-driven methods are highlighted. This review summarizes how individual aspects around DTs are extremely helpful for lifetime design, manufacturing, or decision making even when a DT can remain incomplete or limited. Nowadays, the use of advanced sensors, such as terrestrial, mobile 3D scanners and photogrammetric imaging, has become the prevalent practice for 3D Reality Modeling (RM) and the digitization of large-scale monuments of Cultural Heritage (CH). In practice, this process is heavily related to the expertise of the surveying team handling the laborious planning and time-consuming execution of the 3D scanning process tailored to each site's specific requirements and constraints. To minimize human intervention, this paper proposes a novel methodology for autonomous 3D Reality Modeling of CH monuments by employing autonomous robotic agents equipped with the appropriate sensors. These autonomous robotic agents are able to carry out the 3D RM process in a systematic, repeatable, and accurate approach. The outcomes of this automated process may also find applications in digital twin platforms, facilitating secure monitoring and the management of cultural heritage sites and spaces, in both indoor and outdoor environments. Monitoring a deep geological repository for radioactive waste during the operational phases relies on a combination of fit-for-purpose numerical simulations and online sensor measurements, both producing complementary massive data, which can then be compared to predict reliable and integrated information (e.g., in a digital twin) reflecting the actual physical evolution of the installation over the long term (i.e., a century), the ultimate objective being to assess that the repository components/processes are effectively following the expected trajectory towards the closure phase. Data prediction involves using historical data and statistical methods to forecast future outcomes, but it faces challenges such as data quality issues, the complexity of real-world data, and the difficulty in balancing model complexity. Feature selection, overfitting, and the interpretability of complex models further contribute to the complexity. Data reconciliation involves aligning model with in situ data, but a major challenge is to create models capturing all the complexity of the real world, encompassing dynamic variables, as well as the residual and complex near-field effects on measurements (e.g., sensors coupling). This difficulty can result in residual discrepancies between simulated and real data, highlighting the challenge of accurately estimating real-world intricacies within predictive models during the reconciliation process. This paper presents computer and color vision research focusing on human color perception in VR environments. A VR art gallery with digital twins of original artworks is created for this experiment. In this research, the field of colorimetry and the application of the L*a*b* and RGB color models are applied. The inter-relationships of the two color models are applied to create a color modification of the VR art gallery environment using C# Script procedures. This color-edited VR environment works with a smooth change in color tone in a given time interval. At the same time, a sudden change in the color of the RGB environment is defined in this interval. This experiment aims to record a user's reaction embedded in a VR environment and the effect of color changes on human perception in a VR environment. This research uses lie detector sensors that record the physiological changes of the user embedded in VR. Five sensors are used to record the signal. An experiment on the influence of the user's color perception in a VR environment using lie detector sensors has never been conducted. This research defines the basic methodology for analyzing and evaluating the recorded signals from the lie detector. The presented text thus provides a basis for further research in the field of colors and human color vision in a VR environment and lays an objective basis for use in many scientific and commercial areas. Green and intelligent manufacturing has become the key direction of industrial production development. In-situ measuring and sintering simulation technologies play a key role in the modification of ceramic materials and the optimization of the sintering process. These two techniques can significantly alleviate the problems of wasted energy and resources in the ceramics production process, thus promoting the green development of the ceramics industry. Although both techniques have been widely used in the field of ceramic sintering, there is a lack of a comprehensive review of their applications. To better promote the application of these two technologies, this paper provides the first overview of the progress of the application of ceramic sintering in-situ measuring technology and systematically reviews the current research status of ceramic sintering simulation technology. Then it looks forward to the application prospect of these two technologies, synthesizes these two technologies, constructs the framework of digital twin ceramic sintering system for the first time, and analyzes the important role of these two technologies in the digital twin ceramic sintering system. By combining digital twins with the IIoT, industries can simulate, predict, and control physical behaviors, enabling them to achieve broader value and support industry 4.0 and 5.0. Constituents of cooperative IIoT domains tend to interact and collaborate during their complicated operations. To secure such interaction and collaborations, we introduce a blockchain-based cross-domain authentication protocol for IIoT. The blockchain maintains only each domain's dynamic accumulator, which accumulates crucial materials derived from devices, decreasing the overhead. In addition, we use the on-chain accumulator to effectively validate the unlinkable identities of cross-domain IIoT devices. The implementation of the concept reveals the fact that our protocol is efficient and reliable. This efficiency and reliability of our protocol is also substantiated through comparison with state-of-the-art literature. In contrast to related protocols, our protocol exhibits a minimum 22.67% increase in computation cost efficiency and a 16.35% rise in communication cost efficiency. The developed protocol guarantees data transfer security across the domain and thwarts IoT devices from potential physical attacks. There has been a plethora of research on the performance of schedule and cost in construction projects. However, current research falls short in investigating the combined contribution of different construction technologies on project performance metrics. Specifically, none of the previous efforts have used integrated earned value management (EVM) parameters and utilized construction technologies to assess project schedule and cost performance. This paper fills this knowledge gap. To this end, a multistep research methodology was employed to (1) explore the utilization ratings of 13 construction technologies based on data collected from 52 industry experts; (2) rank these technologies in terms of their contribution to schedule and cost savings; (3) map the utilization ratings of construction technologies to schedule and cost variances by leveraging data from 48 construction projects with varying levels and scopes of technology integration to gauge the impact of using these technologies; and (4) develop an associated decision-support model that underwent rigorous verification under extreme conditions and sensitivity analysis. This study makes a noteworthy contribution to the existing body knowledge, revealing that the major drivers for schedule savings are building information modeling (BIM), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), while additive manufacturing (AM), digital twin (DT), and Internet of Things (IoT) are the most significant contributors to cost savings. Moreover, the study reveals strong correlations between various technologies, such as UAVs and laser scanning, geographic information system (GIS) and GPS, AR/VR and digital twins, as well as robotics/automation and AR/VR. Furthermore, the study introduces a novel model that enhances the prediction of project performance, specifically in terms of schedule and cost variations resulting from the adoption of various construction technologies. Risks in the supply chain can damage many companies and organizations due to sustainability risk factors. This study evaluates the supply chain risk assessment and management and then selects the best supplier in a gas company in Egypt. A comprehensive methodology can use the experts' opinions who use the linguistic variables in the spherical fuzzy numbers (SFNs) to evaluate the criteria and suppliers in this study based on their views. Selecting the best supplier is a complex task due to various criteria related to supply chain risk assessment, such as supply risks, environmental risks, financial risks, regularity risks, political risk, ethical risks, and technology risks and their sub-criteria. This study suggested a new combined model with multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) under a spherical fuzzy set (SFS) environment to overcome uncertainty and incomplete data in the assessment process. The MCDM methodology has two methods: the Entropy and COmbinative Distance-based Assessment (CODAS) methods. The SFS-Entropy is used to compute supply chain risk assessment and management criteria weights. The SFS-CODAS method is used to rank the supplier. The main results show that supply risks have the highest importance, followed by financial and environmental risks, and ethical risks have the lowest risk importance. The criteria weights were changed under sensitivity analysis to show the stability and validation of the results obtained from the suggested methodology. The comparative analysis is implemented with other MCDM methods named TOPSIS, VIKOR, MARCOS, COPRAS, WASPAS, and MULTIMOORA methods under the SFS environment. Aiming at the problems of data integration and information sharing in the calibration workshop of smoke alarm, combining OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) and digital twin technology, the OPC UA based digital twin smoke alarm calibration workshop information network framework is proposed. Using OPC UA information modeling technology, a digital workshop information model for smoke alarm calibration was constructed, and the static attribute set, process attribute set, and functional component set of the workshop were defined in detail. Taking the smoke box as an example, the information model construction was instantiated, and data collection and transmission were carried out with the digital twin model of the smoke box, achieving the implementation mapping between the twin model and physical entities. The results show that based on the proposed OPC UA information model, the interconnection and intercommunication of data at all levels of the digital twin smoke alarm calibration workshop can be achieved, and the workshop can be visualized, digitized, and flexible. DT systems, characterized by real-time capabilities, high precision, and high integration, have become essential in various domains. In the context of cultural heritage, a DT system encompasses comprehensive information about heritage sites, contextual data, and expert knowledge, forming a complex dynamic system. The substantial volume of information and diverse sources significantly increases the cognitive load for management personnel in understanding on-site situations. This study, from the perspective of situational awareness, introduces X-reality technologies (VR and AR) into DT systems for cultural heritage risk management. The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of different X-reality technologies in cultural heritage risk perception and their impact mechanisms. A total of 184 participants were divided into two groups and experienced three different applications (2D desktop, VR, and AR). Using situational awareness rating techniques, participants' responses were measured across three dimensions: attention resource demand, attention resource supply, and understanding of the situation. SEM was employed to estimate the stability of the scale data. The results indicate that, compared to traditional 2D desktops, both VR and AR demonstrate advantages in enhancing heritage risk situational awareness. However, in AR mode, no significant advantages were found in the dimensions of attention resource demand and attention resource supply compared to traditional 2D desktop applications. Furthermore, a significant difference in immersion between VR and AR was found to affect the attention resource demand dimension. Although the results suggest differences in the interactivity of VR and AR in affecting the attention resource demand dimension, no significant differences were found. By comprehensively understanding the functional mechanisms of X-reality technologies in influencing cultural heritage risk situational awareness, this study provides design references for constructing DT systems for cultural heritage risk management. Additionally, it offers insights for heritage site managers, experts, and stakeholders to enhance risk perception efficiency, promoting more effective risk assessment, analysis, and strategic decision-making, thereby reducing damage to cultural heritage. Construction of wireless infrastructure using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can effectively expand the coverage and support high-density traffic of next-generation communication systems. Designing wireless systems including UAVs as aerial base stations (ABSs) is a challenging task, due to the mobility of ABSs causing time-varying nature of environmental surroundings and relative propagation paths to user equipment (UE) devices. Therefore, it is essential to have an accurate estimate of the channel for varying positioning of the UAVs. In this paper, we propose to adopt a digital twin based performance evaluation procedure for wireless systems including ABSs, providing enhanced accuracy of channel modeling for specific target deployment areas. Using ray-tracing channel models reflecting detailed building and terrain information of the transmission environment, an UAV position optimization algorithm based on reinforcement learning is presented. By utilizing deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG), the proposed algorithm calculates the overall throughput in the digital twin and determines the desired states of the UAV. Performance evaluation results demonstrate the trajectory training ability of the algorithm and the performance advantage of the system with a reduced amount of shadow area compared to those with ground base stations (GBSs). The pre-cooling of a large LNG storage tank involves complex phenomena such as heat transfer, low-temperature flow, gas displacement, and vaporization. The whole pre-cooling process could take up to 50 h. For large-scale, full-capacity storage tanks, it is particularly important to accurately control the pre-cooling temperature. Digital twin technology can characterize and predict the full life cycle parameters from the beginning of pre-cooling development to the end and even the appearance of damage in real time. The construction of a digital twin platform requires a large number of data samples in order to predict the operating state of the device. Therefore, a simulation method with high computational efficiency for the pre-cooling process of LNG tanks is of great importance. In this paper, the mixture model and discrete phase model (DPM) are applied to simulate the pre-cooling process of a large LNG full-capacity tank. Following Euler–Lagrange, the DPM greatly simplifies the solution process. Compared with the experimental results, the maximum error of the DPM simulation results is less than 11%. Such a highly efficient simulation method for the large LNG full-capacity storage tank can make it possible to build the digital twin platform that needs hundreds of data model samples. Energy performance-based contracts (EPCs) offer a promising solution for enhancing the energy performance of buildings, which is an overarching step towards achieving Net Zero Carbon Buildings, addressing climate change and improving occupants' comfort. Despite their potential, their execution is constrained by difficulties that hinder their diffusion in the architecture, engineering, construction, and operation industry. Notably, the Measurement and Verification process is considered a significant impediment due to data sharing, storage, and security challenges. Nevertheless, there have been minimal efforts to analyze research conducted in this field systematically. A systematic analysis of 113 identified journal articles was conducted to fill this gap. A paucity of research tackling the utilization of digital technologies to enhance the implementation of EPCs was found. Consequently, this article proposes a framework integrating Digital Twin and Blockchain technologies to provide an enhanced EPC execution environment. Digital Twin technology leverages the system by monitoring and evaluating energy performance in real-time, predicting future performance, and facilitating informed decisions. Blockchain technology ensures the integrity, transparency, and accountability of information. Edge servers frequently manage their own offline digital twin (DT) services, in addition to caching online digital twin services. However, current research often overlooks the impact of offline caching services on memory and computation resources, which can hinder the efficiency of online service task processing on edge servers. In this study, we concentrated on service caching and task offloading within a collaborative edge computing system by emphasizing the integrated quality of service (QoS) for both online and offline edge services. We considered the resource usage of both online and offline services, along with incoming online requests. To maximize the overall QoS utility, we established an optimization objective that rewards the throughput of online services while penalizing offline services that miss their soft deadlines. We formulated this as a utility maximization problem, which was proven to be NP-hard. To tackle this complexity, we reframed the optimization problem as a Markov decision process (MDP) and introduced a joint optimization algorithm for service caching and task offloading by leveraging the deep Q-network (DQN). To address the limitations of current grinding robots' path planning for complex curved surface grinding, a novel path planning technology and post-processing method based on NX and Tecnomatix were proposed. Firstly, the equal chord height error algorithm is used to discretize the machining path, and the posture of the path point is confirmed according to the workpiece surface and the grinding path orientation, so as to obtain the complete grinding path position and posture information. Then, according to the pose of the grinding points, the position and posture planning for grinding the complex surface workpiece is carried out using the customized development method with NX. Finally, the virtual robot workstation and actual grinding system is built for experiments on the generated path. The experimental results show that the robot offline path planning technology of combining the NX customized development method and digital twin simulation technology can not only meeting the needs of more refined path planning tasks but also presenting a complete the grinding process of robot workstation based on logic control event-driven. Thus, the overall planning of robot grinding process can be effectively carried out, and the processing effect of robot grinding can be predicted, improving the machining accuracy and efficiency. A healthcare-focused version of the Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) enables real-time monitoring and remote medical support via integrated medical devices, programs, and support solutions. However, patients' safety and anonymity are in jeopardy by the open access networks employed in IoMT, which makes the systems susceptible to several threats and security lapses. By harnessing the synergies of blockchain, cloud computing, and digital twins, this study presents a comprehensive architecture and a secure lightweight authentication mechanism (which integrates the benefits offered by Yu and Park, Yu et al., and Amintoshi et al.) that addresses these concerns. The suggested method entails using session keys for secure communication while authenticating medical professionals and patients through a gateway. Cloud computing offers a flexible and robust framework for managing and storing medical data. Additionally, it simulates digital twins to enable data-driven decision-making and predictive analysis, and the incorporation of blockchain offers a decentralized and immutable ledger for recording and validating patient data and transaction logs enhancing data integrity, transparency, and traceability. Healthcare systems may confidently embrace the potential of IoMT by implementing this framework since it offers promising solutions to enhance the security and confidentiality of patient data in IoMT while supporting the provision of the best healthcare services, especially in emergency scenarios like the COVID-19 pandemic. An abundance of complex dynamical phenomena exists in nature and human society, requiring sophisticated analytical tools to understand and explain. Causal analysis through observational time series data is essential in comprehending complex systems when controlled experiments are not feasible or ethical. Although data-based causal discovery methods have been widely used, there is still a lack of direct ways more aligned with the intuitive definition of causality, i.e., whether interventions on one element lead to changes in the subsequent development of others. To solve this problem, we propose the method of intervened reservoir computing (IRC) based on constructing a neural network replica of the original system and applying interventions to it. This approach enables controlled trials, thus observing the intervened evolution, in the digital twins of the underlying systems. Simulated and real-world data are used to test our approach and demonstrate its accuracy in inferring causal networks. Given the importance of causality in understanding complex dynamics, we anticipate that IRC could serve as a powerful tool for various disciplines to decipher the intrinsic mechanisms of natural systems from observational data. Understanding complex systems requires causal analysis via observational time series, yet there is still a lack of direct ways aligned with the intuitive definition of causality. Efficient specialized vehicle cooperative scheduling is significant for airport operations, particularly during times of high traffic, which reduces the risk of flight delays and increases customer satisfaction. In this paper,we construct a multi-type vehicles collaborative scheduling model with the objectives of minimizing vehicle travel distance and vehicle waiting time. Additionally, a three-layer genetic algorithm is designed, and the crossover and mutation operations are enhanced to address the scheduling model. Due to the numerous uncertainties and stochastic interferences in airport operations, conventional scheduling methods unable to effectively address these challenges, this paper combines improved genetic algorithm, simulation algorithm, and digital twins technology, proposing a multi-strategy scheduling framework for specialized vehicles based on digital twins. The scheduling framework utilises digital twins to capture dynamic data from the airport and continuously adjusts the scheduling plan through the scheduling strategy to ensure robust scheduling for specialized vehicles. In the event of severe delays at the airport, fast and efficient re-scheduling can be achieved. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheduling framework is validated using domestic flight data, and extensive experiments and analyses are conducted in different scenarios. Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM) plays a pivotal role in heritage conservation endeavours, offering a robust framework for digitally documenting existing structures and supporting conservation practices. However, HBIM's efficacy hinges upon the implementation of case-specific approaches to address the requirements and resources of each individual asset and context. This paper defines a flexible and generalisable workflow that encompasses various aspects (i.e., documentation, surveying, vulnerability assessment) to support risk-informed decision making in heritage management tailored to the peculiar conservation needs of the structure. This methodology includes an initial investigation covering historical data collection, metric and condition surveys and non-destructive testing. The second stage includes Finite Element Method (FEM) modelling and structural analysis. All data generated and processed are managed in a multi-purpose HBIM model. The methodology is tested on a relevant case study, namely, the church of Santa Ana in Seville, chosen for its historical significance, intricacy and susceptibility to seismic action. The defined level of detail of the HBIM model is sufficient to inform the structural analysis, being balanced by a more accurate representation of the alterations, through linked orthophotos and a comprehensive list of alphanumerical parameters. This ensures an adequate level of information, optimising the trade-off between model complexity, investigation time requirements, computational burden and reliability in the decision-making process. Field testing and FEM analysis provide valuable insight into the main sources of vulnerability in the building, including the connection between the tower and nave and the slenderness of the columns. With the rapid development of new-generation cyber–physical system (CPS) technologies, the smart operation and management of the broad bean harvesting system are enabled. This paper proposed a smart broad bean harvesting system (SBHS) and a self-adaptive control method based on CPS technologies. Firstly, the overall architecture of the SBHS is designed, which consists of four main components, namely optimal intelligent perception environment configuration, digital twin model construction, virtual simulation and real-time optimization, self-adaptive adjustment and control. Then, three key enabling technologies are discussed in detail, namely, intelligent perception environment configuration for the SBHS, digital twin model construction for the SBHS, colored Petri net (CPN)-based self-adaptive analysis and control of the harvesting system. Lastly, a proof-of-concept experiment based on a cooperative company is presented to illustrate the main work logic and advantage of the proposed SBHS. After the edge–cloud cooperative intelligent harvesting environment is configured, the CPN model for the workflow of the SBHS is created to analyze and optimize the harvesting processes. Simple Summary: We utilized publicly available perturbation phosphoproteomic data to construct models elucidating cell state transitions across multiple breast cancer and normal breast tissue-derived cell lines. Employing a hybrid methodology, which integrates machine learning and mechanistic modeling, we separated luminal, basal, and normal cell states and revealed core networks that control cell state transitions. We determined causal connections within the core networks and developed interpretable mechanistic models that elucidated the drivers of cell phenotypes. Significantly, these models can predict synergistic drug combinations capable of potentially reversing oncogenic transformation in breast cancer cell lines. Our methodology will enable designer approaches to identify targeted perturbations that convert cell states and mechanistically underpin therapeutic interventions. Understanding signaling patterns of transformation and controlling cell phenotypes is a challenge of current biology. Here we applied a cell State Transition Assessment and Regulation (cSTAR) approach to a perturbation dataset of single cell phosphoproteomic patterns of multiple breast cancer (BC) and normal breast tissue-derived cell lines. Following a separation of luminal, basal, and normal cell states, we identified signaling nodes within core control networks, delineated causal connections, and determined the primary drivers underlying oncogenic transformation and transitions across distinct BC subtypes. Whereas cell lines within the same BC subtype have different mutational and expression profiles, the architecture of the core network was similar for all luminal BC cells, and mTOR was a main oncogenic driver. In contrast, core networks of basal BC were heterogeneous and segregated into roughly four major subclasses with distinct oncogenic and BC subtype drivers. Likewise, normal breast tissue cells were separated into two different subclasses. Based on the data and quantified network topologies, we derived mechanistic cSTAR models that serve as digital cell twins and allow the deliberate control of cell movements within a Waddington landscape across different cell states. The paper focuses on the measurement of PM and other meteorological parameters in a small region of central Europe—eastern Slovakia and northeastern Hungary. Due to the increasing availability of sensors measuring not only PM, but also temperature, humidity, pressure, VOC, NOx, and CO2, new possibilities arise in terms of comparing (mainly in terms of correlation) PM and the other measured parameters, thus generating a large amount of data for evaluation. The correlations found are typical for inland conditions, thus able to map other regions of the world. The presented measurements can also be used to predict the evolution of PM with alerts for people with respiratory diseases, or in virtual reality using a digital twin of a humanoid robot. Today's approach to medicine requires extensive trial and error to determine the proper treatment path for each patient. While many fields have benefited from technological breakthroughs in computer science, such as artificial intelligence (AI), the task of developing effective treatments is actually getting slower and more costly. With the increased availability of rich historical datasets from previous clinical trials and real‐world data sources, one can leverage AI models to create holistic forecasts of future health outcomes for an individual patient in the form of an AI‐generated digital twin. This could support the rapid evaluation of intervention strategies in silico and could eventually be implemented in clinical practice to make personalized medicine a reality. In this work, we focus on uses for AI‐generated digital twins of clinical trial participants and contend that the regulatory outlook for this technology within drug development makes it an ideal setting for the safe application of AI‐generated digital twins in healthcare. The prediction of manoeuvring performance for safe navigation and effective design of ships increasingly depends on artificial intelligence (AI), mainly digital twin technology. This technology requires a digital model of the physical ship. The hydrodynamic coefficients and parameters of these models are commonly obtained through two experimental methods: the planar motion mechanism (PMM) and the circular motion test (CMT). These methods are time-consuming and expensive, which may not be feasible during the early stages of the design process. This study investigates a cost-effective alternative approach to these methods by implementing a grey box method on ships. For the first of these implementations, a full-scale tanker ship was applied with artificial training data of zigzag manoeuvres. A validation study was carried out by comparing the simulation and free-running model test results of the tanker. For the second of these implementations, a scale model of a car carrier was selected, and several numerical search methods were combined to obtain a more accurate digital model. The 3-degree-of-freedom (DOF) Manoeuvring Modelling Group (MMG) models identified through this combination were validated with simulations and compared with the free-running model test results for various manoeuvres. The contribution of this study lies in the accurate capture of the manoeuvring characteristics of the physical model, which is achieved through the use of the adjustment interval and the combination of various numerical search method of the grey box method. Consequently, the developed model can be used in future studies as a faster decision-making tool for determining the straight-line stability or instability of a ship in the ship design and in predicting the manoeuvring performance of the ship. Reconstructing the thermo-chemical evolution of Earth's mantle and its diverse surface manifestations is a widely recognised grand challenge for the geosciences. It requires the creation of a digital twin: a digital representation of Earth's mantle across space and time that is compatible with available observational constraints on the mantle's structure, dynamics and evolution. This has led geodynamicists to explore adjoint-based approaches that reformulate mantle convection modelling as an inverse problem, in which unknown model parameters can be optimised to fit available observational data. Whilst there has been a notable increase in the use of adjoint-based methods in geodynamics, the theoretical and practical challenges of deriving, implementing and validating adjoint systems for large-scale, non-linear, time-dependent problems, such as global mantle flow, has hindered their broader use. Here, we present the Geoscientific ADjoint Optimisation PlaTform (G-ADOPT), an advanced computational modelling framework that overcomes these challenges for coupled, non-linear, time-dependent systems by integrating three main components: (i) Firedrake, an automated system for the solution of partial differential equations using the finite-element method; (ii) Dolfin-Adjoint, which automatically generates discrete adjoint models in a form compatible with Firedrake; and (iii) the Rapid Optimisation Library, ROL, an efficient large-scale optimisation toolkit; G-ADOPT enables the application of adjoint methods across geophysical continua, showcased herein for geodynamics. Through two sets of synthetic experiments, we demonstrate the application of this framework to the initial condition problem of mantle convection, in both square and annular geometries, for both isoviscous and non-linear rheologies. We confirm the validity of the gradient computations underpinning the adjoint approach, for all cases, through second-order Taylor remainder convergence tests and subsequently demonstrate excellent recovery of the unknown initial conditions. Moreover, we show that the framework achieves theoretical computational efficiency. Taken together, this confirms the suitability of G-ADOPT for reconstructing the evolution of Earth's mantle in space and time. The framework overcomes the significant theoretical and practical challenges of generating adjoint models and will allow the community to move from idealised forward models to data-driven simulations that rigorously account for observational constraints and their uncertainties using an inverse approach. Nuclear power plants (NPPs) require continuous monitoring of various systems, structures, and components to ensure safe and efficient operations. The critical safety testing of new fuel compositions and the analysis of the effects of power transients on core temperatures can be achieved through modeling and simulations. They capture the dynamics of the physical phenomenon associated with failure modes and facilitate the creation of digital twins (DTs). Accurate reconstruction of fields of interest (e.g., temperature, pressure, velocity) from sensor measurements is crucial to establish a two-way communication between physical experiments and models. Sensor placement is highly constrained in most nuclear subsystems due to challenging operating conditions and inherent spatial limitations. This study develops optimized data-driven sensor placements for full-field reconstruction within reactor and steam generator subsystems of NPPs. Optimized constrained sensors reconstruct field of interest within a tri-structural isotropic (TRISO) fuel irradiation experiment, a lumped parameter model of a nuclear fuel test rod and a steam generator. The optimization procedure leverages reduced-order models of flow physics to provide a highly accurate full-field reconstruction of responses of interest, noise-induced uncertainty quantification and physically feasible sensor locations. Gear fault detection and remaining useful life estimation are important tasks for monitoring the health of rotating machinery. In this study, a new benchmark for endurance gear vibration signals is presented and made publicly available. The new dataset was used in the HUMS 2023 conference data challenge to test anomaly detection algorithms. A survey of the suggested techniques is provided, demonstrating that traditional signal processing techniques interestingly outperform deep learning algorithms in this case. Of the 11 participating groups, only those that used traditional approaches achieved good results on most of the channels. Additionally, we introduce a signal processing anomaly detection algorithm and meticulously compare it to a standard deep learning anomaly detection algorithm using data from the HUMS 2023 challenge and simulated signals. The signal processing algorithm surpasses the deep learning algorithm on all tested channels and also on simulated data where there is an abundance of training data. In this study, a digital twin model of a hydroelectric power plant has been created. Models of the entire power plant have been created and malfunction situations of a sensor located after the inlet valve of the plant have been analyzed using a programmable logic controller (PLC). As a feature of the digital twin (DT), the error prediction and prevention function has been studied specifically for the pressure sensor. The accuracy and reliability of the data obtained from the sensor are compared with the data obtained from the DT model. The comparison results are evaluated and erroneous data are identified. In this way, it is determined whether the malfunction occurring in the system is a real malfunction or a malfunction caused by measurement or connection errors. In the case of sensor failure or measurement-related malfunction, this situation is determined through the digital twin-based control mechanism. In the case of actual failure, the system is stopped, but in the case of measurement or connection errors, since the data are calculated by the DT model, the value in the specified region is known and thus there is no need to stop the system. Digital representation of robots as Avatars, called "RoboAvatars," is a premise for value-added construction applications such as simulation, layout design, and task planning. Existing RoboAvatars are described in data schemas predominantly from the robotics community, which prevents their smooth applications in the built environment. To fully unleash the power of robotics, this research aims to develop a Building RoboAvatar by adopting the industry foundation classes (IFC) as the de facto standard in the building industry. First, the Building RoboAvatar is defined from a built environment perspective, and then substantiated with IFC. A translator called RoboIFCTrans is developed to facilitate the exploitation of the numerous readily available RoboAvatars represented by the Unified Robot Description Format. Experiments demonstrated the effectiveness of Building RoboAvatar in representing robot information needed for the built environment, which encompasses the "whole-part" robot structure and properties in terms of productivity, capability, etc. The RoboIFCTrans can accurately generate IFC representations of diverse robots (TurtleBot, UR-5, Diablo) within 41.9 s. Practical implications of the IFC-based Building RoboAvatars were illustrated by two use cases. The research contributes to building a "Tower of Babel" between the construction and robotics communities. Single‐stage activity recognition methods have been gaining popularity within the construction domain. However, their low per‐frame accuracy necessitates additional post‐processing to link the per‐frame detections. Therefore, limiting their real‐time monitoring capabilities is an indispensable component of the emerging construction of digital twins. This study proposes knowledge DIstillation of temporal Gradient data for construction Entity activity Recognition (DIGER), built upon the you only watch once (YOWO) method and improving its activity recognition and localization performance. Activity recognition is improved by designing an auxiliary backbone to exploit the complementary information in the temporal gradient data (transferred into YOWO using knowledge distillation), while localization is improved primarily through integration of complete intersection over union loss. DIGER achieved a per‐frame activity recognition accuracy of 93.6% and localization mean average precision at 50% of 79.8% on a large custom dataset, outperforming state‐of‐the‐art methods without requiring additional computation during inference, making it highly effective for real‐time monitoring of construction site activities. The problem of weight degradation is inevitable in particle filtering algorithms, and the resampling approach is an important method to reduce the particle degradation phenomenon. To solve the problem of particle diversity loss in existing resampling methods, this paper proposes a new digital twin-based resampling algorithm to improve the accuracy of particle filter estimation based on the traditional resampling algorithm. The digital twin-based resampling algorithm continuously improves the resampling process through the data interaction between the data model and the physical model, and realizes the real-time correction capability of particle weights that traditional resampling methods do not have. The new algorithm calibration rules are divided according to the size of particle weights, with particles of large weights retained and particles of small weights selectively processed. Compared with the traditional resampling algorithm, the new resampling algorithm reduces the mean square error of the particle filter estimation results by 16.62 % , 16.49 % , and 13.86 % , and improves the computing speed by 7.67 % , 2.25 % , and 7.54 % , respectively, in the simulation experiments of nonlinear systems with univariate unsteady state growth model. The algorithm is experimentally demonstrated to accurately track a person in motion in an indoor building in a non-rigid target tracking application, which illustrates the effectiveness and reasonableness of the digital twin-based resampling algorithm. Digital twins have attracted more and more attention in the past few years. To put digital twins into practice, a large number of modeling approaches have been proposed, vast amounts of data have been collected, and their accuracy has been improving. However, current research has paid insufficient attention to the multi-scale features of the shop floor, which hinders the effective application of the digital twin shop floor. To address the problem of how to achieve effective multi-level and multi-dimensional fusion of digital twin models with production process data, this paper first proposes a structured data modeling framework for sorting out all the production process data collected in real-time; and then proposes a multi-level fusion framework for supporting the fusion of real-time data and twin models from the unit level to the system level. The method judges the parsed received data streams through the full-factor semanticization framework, and at the same time fuses the parsed data streams with the constructed full-factor twin model from multiple dimensions and layers, forming a twin model fusion method with real-time data streams as the blood and twin model as the skeleton. Finally, the micro-assembly-based production shop environment is selected as a case study to verify the correctness and feasibility of the proposed data grooming framework, data, and model fusion method. This paper concerns the extension of the Heritage Digital Twin Ontology introduced in previous research to describe the reactivity of digital twins used for cultural heritage documentation by including the semantic description of sensors and activators and all of the process of interacting with the real world. After analysing previous work on the use of digital twins in cultural heritage, a summary description of the Heritage Digital Twin Ontology is provided, and the existing applications of digital twins to cultural heritage are overviewed, with references to reviews summarising the large production of scientific contributions on the topic. Then, a novel ontology named the Reactive Digital Twin Ontology is described, in which sensors, activators, and the decision processes are also semantically described, turning the previous synchronic approach to cultural heritage documentation into a diachronic one. A prerequisite for continuous transport systems' operation is their digital transformation, which interprets operating conditions based on the availability of a wide range of data and information in the form of measured quantities that can be obtained, for example, by experimental measurement. To implement digital transformation in continuous transport systems, it is necessary to examine and analyze the informative value of individual measured quantities in detail. Research in this area must focus on identifying addressable quantities with a clear, informative value. Such an approach enables the monitoring of continuous transport systems operation and performance of operational diagnostics, the objective of which should be identifying undesirable operating conditions. Within this paper, research will be presented aiming to verify the hypothesis that, based on a measurement of selected parameters, it is possible to identify belt mistracking in a continuous transport system. Belt mistracking is an undesirable condition that can cause a conveyor belt to converge and thus seriously turn off an entire transport system. The research results confirmed the established hypothesis. Based on this, an evaluation algorithm was created for on-time evaluation. The growing interest in building data management, especially the building information model (BIM), has significantly influenced urban management, materials supply chain analysis, documentation, and storage. However, the integration of BIM into 3D GIS tools is becoming more common, showing progress beyond the traditional problem. To address this, this study proposes data transformation methods involving mapping between three domains: industry foundation classes (IFC), city geometry markup language (CityGML), and web ontology framework (OWL)/resource description framework (RDF). Initially, IFC data are converted to CityGML format using the feature manipulation engine (FME) at CityGML standard's levels of detail 4 (LOD4) to enhance BIM data interoperability. Subsequently, CityGML is converted to the OWL/RDF diagram format to validate the proposed BIM conversion process. To ensure integration between BIM and GIS, geometric data and information are visualized through Cesium Ion web services and Unreal Engine. Additionally, an RDF graph is applied to analyze the association between the semantic mapping of the CityGML standard, with Neo4j (a graph database management system) utilized for visualization. The study's results demonstrate that the proposed data transformation methods significantly improve the interoperability and visualization of 3D city models, facilitating better urban management and planning. Fast calculations are widely required in the traditional applications and the emerging digital twin fields. For those considerations, a novel physics-based fast algorithm, namely generalized rotation-superposition method, is proposed for fast calculating linear elastic responses of generalized rotationally axisymmetric structures under arbitrary mechanical loads. Digital twins and the physical assets of electric power systems face the potential risk of data loss and monitoring failures owing to catastrophic events, causing surveillance and energy loss. This study aims to refine maintenance strategies for the monitoring of an electric power digital twin system post disasters. Initially, the research delineates the physical electric power system along with its digital counterpart and post-disaster restoration processes. Subsequently, it delves into communication and data processing mechanisms, specifically focusing on central data processing (CDP), communication routers (CRs), and phasor measurement units (PMUs), to re-establish an equipment recovery model based on these data transmission methodologies. Furthermore, it introduces a mathematical optimization model designed to enhance the digital twin system’s post-disaster monitoring efficacy by employing the branch-and-bound method for its resolution. The emerging digitalization in today's industrial environments allows manufacturers to store online knowledge about production and use it to make better informed management decisions. This paper proposes a multi-agent framework enhanced with digital twin (DT) for production scheduling and optimization. Decentralized scheduling agents interact to efficiently manage the work allocation in different segments of production. A DT is used to evaluate the performance of different scheduling decisions and to avoid potential risks and bottlenecks. Production managers can supervise the system's decision-making processes and manually regulate them online. The multi-agent system (MAS) uses asset administration shells (AASs) for data modelling and communication, enabling interoperability and scalability. The framework was deployed and tested in an industrial pilot coming from the bicycle production industry, optimizing and controlling the short-term production schedule of the different departments. The evaluation resulted in a higher production rate, thus achieving higher production volume in a shorter time span. The pointing accuracy of large radio telescopes is affected by antenna structure errors, installation errors, servo errors, gravity, and varying environmental factors. Although an on-line pointing model had been developed in the past for several large radio telescopes to correct these effects, it is also valuable to explore new ways to correct these effects. Therefore, in order to estimate the dynamic pointing error of large radio telescopes under solar radiation, a new way based on digital twin (DT) is used in this paper. Digital models of the Wuqing 70-m radio telescope (WRT70) are created based on the DT operational framework. Finally, the reliability of the WRT70's DT system is verified, and the dynamic pointing error of WRT70 (staying at the position of the elevation angle of 90° and the azimuth angle of 180°) on two sunny days in different seasons is estimated by the created DT system. The research results show that the pointing error of large radio telescopes under solar radiation fluctuates greatly and the seasonal differences are very striking. The maximum elevation pointing error of WRT70 under solar radiation around the winter solstice is over 40 arcsec, which is equal to 4/11 of the beam width for WRT70 operating at 8 GHz. In this paper, it is feasible to estimate the time-varying pointing errors of large radio telescopes at rest under solar radiation by constructing a DT system, but it is not effective to estimate the dynamic pointing errors of large radio telescopes in operation. Digital twins are a relatively new form of digital modeling that has been gaining popularity in recent years. This is in large part due to their ability to update in real time to their physical counterparts and connect across multiple devices. As a result, much interest has been directed towards using digital twins in the healthcare industry. Recent advancements in smart wearable technologies have allowed for the utilization of human digital twins in healthcare. Human digital twins can be generated using biometric data from the patient gathered from wearables. These data can then be used to enhance patient care through a variety of means, such as simulated clinical trials, disease prediction, and monitoring treatment progression remotely. This revolutionary method of patient care is still in its infancy, and as such, there is limited research on using wearables to generate human digital twins for healthcare applications. This paper reviews the literature pertaining to human digital twins, including methods, applications, and challenges. The tool incorporates Primavera P6 EPPM and Synchro 4D, enabling proactive clash detection and resolution of spatial conflicts during concurrent tasks. Additionally, it performs resource verification for sufficient allocation before task initiation. This integrated approach facilitates the generation of conflict-free and feasible construction schedules. By adhering to project constraints and seamlessly integrating with existing industry tools, the proposed solution offers a comprehensive and robust approach to construction project management.
