Financial savings at the household level are vital for poverty alleviation, yet they face social, psychological and institutional obstacles. Over recent years, mobile phones have proven effective in enhancing financial inclusion. However, when individuals decide how to save, their preferences remain unclear. This study investigates the preferences of 421 Malian smallholder farmers for a hypothetical mobile savings application using a discrete choice experiment. Apart from standard savings account features such as transaction charges, interest amount and minimum deposit requirements, it assesses preferences for two innovative features designed to address deviations from rational decision‐making. The first feature allows multiple users to pool their savings, utilising social dynamics and peer pressure to encourage responsible savings behaviour and enhance commitment. The second feature offers users the ability to manage their finances more effectively by dividing them into purpose‐specific sub‐accounts. The findings reveal a strong overall preference for saving via the application rather than keeping cash on hand. As anticipated, farmers favour lower costs and deposits and higher interest amounts. Generally, individual saving is preferred over group saving, and the option to compartmentalise is valued, albeit not statistically significantly so. However, the analysis of underlying heterogeneity reveals substantial differences in respondents' preferences for these commitment‐enhancing features. These findings underscore the need for customised approaches that align with farmers' unique preferences and constraints. This research was conducted to identify the practices employed by the SorSU Faculty members towards saving money as well as discover the problems encountered by them in handling their finances. A total of 40 faculty members of Sorsogon State University Bulan Campus participated in this study. The mixed designed was used in this research which employed survey and focus group discussions. This study concludes that the faculty members of SorSU Bulan Campus adopt both the traditional way of saving money and the modern style of investment as modes of saving their finances which include budgeting, joining in “paluwagan”, using piggy bank, maintaining bank accounts and deposits and purchasing investment instruments. Increasing cost of utilities and unexpected day-to-day expenses; lack of financial literacy; poor debt management; and low and delayed salaries were the problems encountered by the faculty participants in handling their monetary resources. From the results of the study, this highly recommends the adoption of the Bongalonta’s Financial Model for SorSU Bulan Campus Faculty Members designed by the researcher as a guide or model for saving money. This study investigates the factors driving the financial literacy of adult population in Spain using a regression count model (specifically the latent class Poisson model). The paper pays special attention to the effect of certain financial attitudes and financial personality traits (such as financial myopia, risk aversion, attitude to financial planning and self‐perception of financial vulnerability) upon financial literacy. The results demonstrate a positive association between the financial skills, the sociodemographic characteristics and the attitudes and personality traits of individuals regarding finances. Furthermore, the analysis permits the conclusion that the effects of the financial attitudes analysed in the study vary among the different population groups, which suggests the need to adapt financial literacy promotional programs to the characteristics of the target group. Findings have implications for financial educators, practitioners and policymakers to help them recognize the proper financial program to be delivered on the basis of the FL levels and the sociodemographic composition of the individuals. The benefits of engaging a financial planner are well-documented in the literature. That is why it is so surprising that very few financial planners had their own planners despite spending their days purporting the importance of having a planner to potential clients. This article introduces an exercise, designed for financial planning courses, which encourages students to meet with a financial planner and write about their experience. The essays were examined using the qualitative methodology of thematic analysis. Several themes emerged: (a) insights into what it would be like to be a financial planner, (b) decreased anxiety after seeing the planner, (c) better empathy regarding the client's experience, (d) increased respect for the interpersonal skills required to do financial planning, and (e) receiving personal and professional benefits to seeing a financial planner. This research investigates travel calculated hedonism (TCH) in diverse tourism contexts. An extant literature review, five focus groups and two expert panels conceptualised TCH. Field studies operationalised TCH in drinking (N = 355), eating (N = 351), wellness (N = 330) and shopping (N = 337) contexts. Findings identified four TCH scale dimensions -- delaying rewards, planned impulsiveness, planned financial compulsiveness and planned time/physical compulsiveness. Theoretical definitions of TCH set the groundwork for rationalised binging that is cognitive- and affect-driven. The methodology presents an approach for a rigorous TCH measure. Although financial trust has been modeled as a critical predictor of retirement financial planning activities, insufficient understanding has been developed concerning the relationship between financial trust and the effectiveness of the model of retirement financial planning. This current research creatively evaluated the moderating role of financial trust in the model of retirement financial planning in a sample of young working adults in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China (N = 422). Results presented evidence to support financial trust strengthened the pathways in the model of retirement financial planning. For example, social support was positively and significantly linked to retirement financial behaviors in the subsample reporting high financial trust but not among those with low trust; Risk tolerance was positively and significantly associated with retirement financial planning behaviors in the high-trust subsample but not in the low-trust subsample; Future time perspectives positively and significantly connected to retirement goal clarity in the high-trust but not low-trust respondents. Our findings improve the understanding of the model of retirement financial planning by increasing its complexity and providing new entry points to enhance retirement financial planning, namely promoting financial trust among the public. There has been an increasingly prevalent message that data regarding costs must be included in conservation planning activities to make cost-efficient decisions. Despite the growing acceptance that socioeconomic context is critical to conservation success, the approaches to embedded economic and financial considerations into planning have not significantly evolved. Inappropriate cost data is frequently included in decisions, with the potential of compromising biodiversity and social outcomes. For each conservation planning step, this essay details common mistakes made when considering costs, proposing solutions to enable conservation managers to know when and how to include costs. Appropriate use of high-quality cost data obtained at the right scale will improve decision-making and ultimately avoid costly mistakes. Objective: The aim of the study is to understand the needs and interests of occupational medicine physicians (OMPs) as they transition to retirement. Methods: An electronic survey was distributed through member organizations in the United States (ACOEM), United Kingdom (SOM/FOM), India (IAOH), South Africa (SASOM), and Medichem. Results: Four hundred ninety-seven OMPs at various career stages responded, including 282 from the United States, 97 from the United Kingdom, 36 from India, 30 from South Africa, and 52 from other countries. Two hundred seventy-eight work full-time, 160 part-time, and 58 are not doing paid work. Approximately 60% serve as volunteers. Sixty percent have a written financial plan. Thirty-five percent are very comfortable with their retirement plans. After leaving full-time work, 85% plan to work part-time. There is a high level of interest in learning about opportunities for part-time work and volunteering. The prioritisation of public facilities' maintenance is a necessary but complex task due to the need of considering both physical and socio-economic criteria. This study addresses this problem by quantifying the improvement in the delivery of social benefits that the corrective maintenance of an urban area's public facilities could yield. Based on this, a decision framework is proposed to design and schedule corrective maintenance plans at a municipal scale. The methodology integrates multi-criteria assessment with an analytical method for evaluating the contribution of an area's public facilities to its sustainable urban development based on their type of social infrastructure and their maintenance condition. The decision framework is implemented as a software to facilitate its application to a case study, consisting in building urban regeneration strategies aligned with governmental guidelines. The results revealed that decision-making is more efficient when considering the facilities' type of social infrastructure. Recently scholars have turned their attention to the role of intergenerational financial assistance in facilitating entry into home ownership for young adults. This practice has been identified as a means through which intergenerational inequalities may be translated into intragenerational inequalities. However, the question of what this form of financial dependence on family means for both young adults and their parents has received less attention. This article reports on the findings of a study conducted with 15 related donor-recipient pairs (30 in-depth interviews in total) in the UK in 2019. Drawing on these findings, we show that the provision and receipt of intergenerational financial assistance does not simply reflect family practices, but instead plays an active part in developing and conveying them. We ultimately contend that the practice of giving and receiving financial transfers shapes individuals' broader orientations to the property market, and to financial decision-making and planning. The expenditures made by the state throughout history have been documented. Today, a budget is a document prepared, approved, and implemented according to specific rules, containing financial plans for the future. The modern state budget requires adherence to various budgeting principles. Interestingly, the budget prepared by Tarhuncu Ahmet Pasha in the 17th century Ottoman Empire is known to resemble today's state budget. This study aims to determine whether the budget led by Tarhuncu Ahmet Pasha is a modern state budget or what type of budget it represents. Information and documents obtained from the Ottoman Archives were used. It was found that the budget prepared by Tarhuncu Ahmet Pasha aligns with most of today's budget principles and rules. Features such as the clear recording of revenues and expenditures and the maintenance of financial discipline show that it closely approaches the modern budget concept. Tarhuncu Ahmet Pasha's budgeting practices emphasized financial discipline and accountability, laying the groundwork for many principles used today. Research has shown that even though standardized financial education has gained prevalence to promote financial literacy over the past decade, it has had little effect on personal financial planning. The present study used a randomized control trial to examine the effectiveness of a Python‐based personalized financial projection on young working adults in Hong Kong, to examine if and how this approach improves their financial planning. Participants assigned to the experiment group received standardized financial education and Python‐based financial projections, while those in the control group only received standardized financial education. The assessment based on the two‐wave data showed that Python‐based financial projection promoted future time perspectives, reduced temporal discounting, and improved financial planning via the full mediation of promoting financial attitudes. Although numerous applications for personal financial planning exist (such as Wallet, Walnut, Monefy, and Money View), our Python‐based financial projection stands out as the pioneering solution tailored for the hands‐on manipulation of programming code to effectively manage personal finances. Our findings suggest a new track to upgrade personalized financial projection and standardized financial education and contribute generously to the development of personal finance education. The purpose of this study was to document factors associated with a couple's decision to manage finances entirely jointly (i.e., pooled), somewhat jointly, or separately. Based on survey data from 636 married or cohabitating respondents, test results showed that married and less well-educated individuals are more likely to pool finances with their partners. Additionally, it was determined that the odds of partners pooling finances increase as the size of a household increases and when the household exhibits a positive net worth. In this study, households with two income earners were approximately 50% less likely to pool their finances compared to households with one income earner. It was further determined that those who reported agreeing on issues related to spending were more than twice as likely to pool their finances as compared to those who did not agree with their partner on issues related to spending. The findings from this study advance the marriage and family therapy literature by showing that financial integration style and financial decision-making responsibilities are separate constructs and should not be used as proxies for one another. In today's complex economic environment, individuals and households alike grapple with the challenge of financial planning. This paper introduces novel methodologies for both individual and cooperative (household) financial budgeting. We firstly propose an optimization framework for individual budget allocation, aiming to maximize savings by efficiently distributing monthly income among various expense categories. We then extend this model to households, wherein the complexity of handling multiple incomes and shared expenses is addressed. The cooperative model prioritizes not only maximized savings but also the preferences and needs of each member, fostering a harmonious financial environment, whether they are short-term needs or long-term aspirations. A notable innovation in our approach is the integration of recommendations from a large language model (LLM). Given its vast training data and potent inferential capabilities, the LLM provides initial feasible solutions to our optimization problems, acting as a guiding beacon for individuals and households unfamiliar with the nuances of financial planning. Our preliminary results indicate that the LLM-recommended solutions result in budget plans that are both economically sound, meaning that they are consistent with established financial management principles and promote fiscal resilience and stability, and aligned with the financial goals and preferences of the concerned parties. This integration of AI-driven recommendations with econometric models, as an instantiation of an extended coevolutionary (EC) theory, paves the way for a new era in financial planning, making it more accessible and effective for a wider audience, as we propose an example of a new theory in economics where human behavior can be greatly influenced by AI agents. A budget is a written plan regarding the activities of an organization which is expressed quantitatively for a certain period or period and is generally expressed in units of money. The Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia is one of the ministries that has authority over the State revenue and expenditure budget. The Ministry of Religion is ranked 2nd with the largest APBN ceiling after the Police of the Republic of Indonesia. The ratios for assessing financial performance in the Ministry of Religion used in this research include: Growth Ratio, Effectiveness and Efficiency Ratio. This research aims to analyze the level of Growth, Effectiveness and Efficiency Ratios during the 2017-2022 period to see the financial performance of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. In writing this journal, a quantitative descriptive analysis method was used. The results of this research show that the financial performance of the Ministry of Religion using the Growth Ratio or the Ministry of Religion's budget growth ratio is around 4.39% every year. The Ministry of Religion's budget effectiveness ratio is relatively high at an average level of 112%, which means that budget realization is able to exceed the set targets. The highest achievement of 121% was recorded in 2017. The Ministry of Religion's budget efficiency ratio for 2017-2022 is at an average of 0.97%, which is very efficient considering the nature of the public sector budget, the smaller the efficiency ratio, the better the government's performance. Recent developments in cognitive psychology and behavioral economics may explain the lower-than-predicted asset decumulation behavior posited by traditional life-cycle models during retirement, dubbed the retirement consumption puzzle. This study examines if mental accounting could be used to explain the retirement consumption puzzle. Utilizing panel data collected from the 1992–2018 Health and Retirement Studies, retiree age and age squared are examined using fractional polynomials and fixed effects regressions for their associations with varying categorical retiree asset decumulation patterns, including retiree wealth, nonhousing wealth, stocks, retirement accounts, bonds, liquid assets, vehicles, primary residence, and home equity. The results suggest that varying asset decumulation behaviors exist among retirees, which could be explained by retirees' discretionary spending propensities. SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) serve as the backbone of the Indonesian economy, in a country with the world's largest Muslim population. This study employs a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with primary data collected through an online purposive sampling technique from 113 MSMEs in Jabodetabek. The performance of MSMEs is significantly influenced by religiosity, Sharia financial literacy, and Islamic financial planning. Purpose: Industrial R&D Project Portfolio Selection Method using a Multi-Objective Optimization Program -- a Conceptual Quantitative Framework. Design/methodology/approach: Research and development (R&D) activities are crucial if companies are to adapt to technology changes, but budget constraints and limited resources often force companies to select a subset of candidate projects through portfolio selection methods. However, existing models for R&D portfolio selection do not adequately consider interdependencies and types of projects, and this can lead to suboptimal selection and misalignment with corporate objectives. Findings: A Multi-Objective Optimisation Program (MOOP) is suggested transcending from classic manpower, time, and financial planning into addition of strategic, skills and commercial objectives. A Pareto front is used as validation mechanism. Research limitations/implications: Project selection processes are widened with select and critical quantitative positions. Potentials remain in areas of team capability, corporate capabilities, deeper skill understanding, and stakeholder engagement. Public service agencies are basically a tool to improve the performance of public services for the development of human resources as well as infrastructure facilities through the implementation of financial management based on results, professionalism, accountability and transparency. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze the financial management of state universities as public service agencies (BLU) in supporting the development of human resources and infrastructure (Study at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Universitas Negeri Manado). The research method used is a qualitative method with a purposive sampling technique in determining informants. The research results show that, among other things, 1) Financial management planning for state universities that implement public service bodies must be able to accommodate the interests of both parties (central government and state universities); 2) There needs to be transparency in financial management. In terms of what and for what the institution's finances need to be recorded and accounted for, accompanied by proof of its use; 3) Financial planning needs to be done every year by taking into account the needs that occur in the next year. Planning must be designed to be close to reality through comprehensive planning. Corporate financial management is responsible for constructing, optimizing, and modifying finance-related structures for an unremitting function. The finance optimization model incorporates risk prediction and fund balancing for distinguishable corporate operations. This risk prediction is handled using sophisticated computing models with artificial intelligence and machine learning for self-training and external learning. Therefore, this article introduces a Backpropagation-aided Neural Network for designing an Optimal Risk Prediction (ORP-BNN) to pre-validate existing and new financial imbalances. The risk prediction model is designed to cope with corporate standards and minimum riskless financial management. This is designed as a linear snowfall model wherein the BNN decides the significance between fund allocation and restraining. The snowfall model significantly relies on allocation or restraining, which is achieved by assigning significant weights depending on the previous financial decision outcome. The weight factor is determined using gradient loss functions associated with the computing model. The training process is pursued using different structural modifications used for successful financial management in the past. In particular, the risk thwarted financial planning using a snowfall-like computing model, and its data inputs are used for training optimization. This study explored the associations among personal financial planning, self-control, and financial satisfaction using a sample of 293 employees of universities in Ghana. Based on the partial least squares structural equation modeling analyses, the results showed that financial planning and self-control had positive relationships with financial satisfaction and that self-control partially mediated the relationship between financial planning and financial satisfaction. Commodity markets are highly volatile markets where uncertainty management is critical for success. Certain commodities, such as copper concentrates, experience even higher levels of volatility and uncertainty. This is fundamentally due to the absence of a reference market that allows for a transparent price discovery, along with many factors affecting the price and trade of any commodity. Traders also lack the possibility of fully hedging their exposure to copper concentrate prices as there is no derivative market directly available for the commodity. Consequently, this paper analyses the copper concentrate trading business resorting to the Real Options methodology to assess the high volatility and uncertainty which dominates in this area of commodity markets. The results obtained indicate that this method can be applied by copper concentrate traders to separate the price uncertainty from their business operative and financial planning for the future. This provides them with a reliable tool to lower the level of uncertainty affecting their long-term goals, as well as keeping the risk that they are taking under control. We investigate whether a lack of planning and future-orientation in financial behavior is associated with a higher mortality risk. Our evidence is based on two nationally representative cohorts of older people living in the United States (n = 11,478) and England (n = 11,298), where we compared individuals' self-reported planning horizons on spending and saving with government mortality records. Controlling for demographics, participants with a 1 SD shorter planning horizon had a 9% greater hazard of dying in the English sample (evaluated over 10 years), and a 7% greater hazard in the US sample (over 22 years). These differences in mortality risk could not be explained by variation in respondent's life expectancy, their financial circumstances or a range of other observable covariates. Similar results are found for self-reported health, with the positive association between longer planning horizons and health strongest for those with fewest financial resources. The development of the tourism industry in Indonesia has presented new business opportunities, including in the field of container villa rental in mountainous areas. This business promises attractive potential, but is also faced with various challenges related to proper financial planning. This research aims to analyze and understand the financial planning strategies adopted by container villa rental companies in Indonesia's mountainous regions. This research was conducted at PT Nahe Unggul Lestari which launched "V-CONT Village" a villa located in Sukabumi adjacent to the Bocimi toll road access which is under construction. The location is also close to Mount Gede Pangrango tourism. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data in this study was collected through in-depth interviews with relevant parties in the container villa rental company, including financial management and other decision makers. In addition, data is also collected through document studies, namely financial reports, budgets, and company business plans. The collected data will be analyzed with a qualitative approach. The results show that financial planning for container villa rental companies in the mountains in Indonesia needs to be done systematically and structured. Financial planning in villa container rental companies in the mountains includes financial goals and objectives, financial planning elements, financial projections, investment feasibility analysis, and financial performance analysis. This research aims to investigate the influence of two key factors, namely Financial Socialization and Financial Experience, on the investment intention of private sector employees in the city of Cikarang. Additionally, this study also analyzes the role of Financial Literacy as a mediator in the relationship between Financial Socialization, Financial Experience, and Investment Intention. The research methodology employs a quantitative approach with data collection through questionnaires distributed to private sector employees in Cikarang. Data analysis is conducted using regression techniques and mediation analysis. The research findings indicate that Financial Socialization and Financial Experience have a significant influence on Investment Intention. Furthermore, Financial Literacy has been proven to mediate the relationship between Financial Socialization, Financial Experience, and Investment Intention. These findings have important implications for human resources practitioners and educational institutions to enhance financial understanding and investment intentions among private sector employees in Cikarang. This article emphasises the need to improve the level of financial literacy of the population, which is a qualifying driver of the harmonious development of the state's financial system and has particular relevance in the post-war economic recovery. The impact of the war on financial behaviour and the use of FinTech innovations by Ukrainians is determined. The purpose of the article is to clarify the peculiarities of assessing financial literacy and financial behaviour of Ukrainians during the war, taking into account the specifics of the impact of financial technologies (Fintech) on the economic development and welfare of Ukraine. The conceptual framework for assessing financial literacy and financial behaviour of the population is formed, which is presented as a set of interrelated elements. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted among Ukrainians, including those with IDP status, within the framework of the UK-Ukraine twinning grants scheme (Project UUT23 "Fintech as a fence for the shock and fuel for the recovery? Lessons from the war"). The results of the survey allowed us to formulate a set of recommendations both at the macro level and at the level of an individual provider to ensure that the financial market and fintech tools perform the function of economic recovery after the social trauma suffered by consumers of financial services. This study analyses financial education and its impact on the behavior of young people in Kosovo during their financial planning. It also provides a theoretical overview of financial education, financial planning, and financial experiences. The study was conducted using quantitative methods, with primary data collected through an online questionnaire. The statistical tests used are MANOVA, ANOVA, Paired T-Test, the Chi-square test for goodness-of-fit, and factorial and reliability analysis. We find that the level of education has a positive effect on money management and the creation of a personal financial plan; employment status and sources of income have an essential impact on controlling the financial situation; financial experience has a positive effect on making personal financial decisions. All empirical analyses are original and based on the authors' calculations through econometric models and other research methods. We highlight the importance of financial education in schools. Compared to higher income couples, those with low incomes experience a host of challenges and disparities in their intimate relationships, including lower levels of relationship satisfaction, higher rates of breakup of cohabiting relationships, and higher rates of divorce. In recognition of these disparities, a number of interventions targeting couples with low incomes have been developed. These interventions historically focused primarily on improving relationship skills through relationship education, but in recent years a new approach that integrates economic‐focused interventions alongside relationship education has emerged. This integrated approach is intended to better address the challenges facing couples with low incomes, but the theory‐driven, top‐down approach to intervention development leaves open the question of whether couples with low incomes are interested in participating in a program that combines these two disparate components. The current study draws from a large randomized controlled trial of one such program (N = 879 couples) to provide descriptive information about the recruitment and retention of couples with low incomes in a study of relationship education with integrated economic services. Results indicate that it is possible to recruit a large, linguistically, and racially diverse sample of couples living with low income to participate in an integrated intervention, but the uptake of relationship‐focused services was higher than the uptake of economic‐focused services. Additionally, attrition over a 1‐year follow‐up data collection period was low but required labor‐intensive efforts to reach participants for the survey. The multi-stage stochastic programming (MSP) approach is widely used to solve financial planning problems owing to its flexibility. However, the size of an MSP problem grows exponentially with the number of stages, and such problem can easily become computationally intractable. Financial planning problems often consider planning horizons of several decades, and thus, the curse of dimensionality can become a critical issue. Stochastic dual dynamic programming (SDDP), a sampling-based decomposition algorithm, has emerged to resolve this issue. While SDDP has been successfully implemented in the energy domain, few applications of SDDP are found in the finance domain. In this study, we identify the major obstacle in using SDDP to solve financial planning problems to be the stagewise independence assumption and propose a partially observable SDDP (PO-SDDP) framework to overcome such limitations. We argue that the PO-SDDP framework, which models uncertainties using discrete-valued partially observable Markov states and introduces feasibility cuts, can properly address large-scale financial planning problems. The significance of financial literacy is increasing faster in today's world. Financial literacy provides individuals with necessary and adequate financial knowledge and makes them professionally aware of managing their finances. It plays a vital role in the economic development of an economy. The study examines the impact of financial literacy on investors' financial decisions, financial planning, selection of financial products, and financial literacy awareness program and its influence on investors' investment decisions. In order to obtain information from the respondents, we employed a questionnaire that was both structured and self-administered. The investigation analyzes the survey responses from 360 respondents in Saudi Arabia. Various statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, analysis of reliability, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and regression analysis were utilized to evaluate the data obtained. The results obtained in the study indicated that financial literacy has a significant impact on investors' financial decisions, financial planning, and the selection of financial products that influence investors' investment decisions. The research also found that financial literacy is affected by financial literacy awareness programs, which have a favorable influence on the investment decisions made by investors. This study aims to determine the factors that influence Islamic financial literacy, financial behavior and financial resilience to Islamic financial planning and management of young couples after the covid 19 pandemic. This research is a qualitative research using Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with primary data taken from questionnaires based on convenience sampling, totaling 250 respondents. Islamic financial literacy is influenced by income/employment factors. Islamic financial literacy has an impact on financial planning by full meditation since it only significant to undirect affect through financial behaviour and financial resilliance. In 1990, the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning (JFCP) was established. The journal publishes academic research on consumer financial decision-making, financial education, counseling, and planning. This article reviews the journal's contents published during the period 1990–2022. It analyzes JFCP's publication trends, citation statistics, significant themes, authors' collaborations, keywords, and contributions to the literature of consumer finance. Most studies employed Life Cycle Hypothesis and Expected Utility Theory. JFCP publishes mostly US-based quantitative empirical studies. This statement from the European Society of Thoracic imaging (ESTI) explains and summarises the essentials for understanding and implementing Artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice in thoracic radiology departments. This document discusses the current AI scientific evidence in thoracic imaging, its potential clinical utility, implementation and costs, training requirements and validation, its' effect on the training of new radiologists, post-implementation issues, and medico-legal and ethical issues. All these issues have to be addressed and overcome, for AI to become implemented clinically in thoracic radiology. This article aims to provide insights on how to create a sound financial model to secure the financial sustainability of a pan-European distributed research infrastructure (RI). The financial sustainability is a key challenge for any Research Infrastructure (RI) sustained by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) along its construction and implementation process (nearly 10 years) due to its large-scale size and complexity. Therefore, the Horizon 2020 (H2020) and Horizon Europe call dedicated to the different phases of ESFRI RIs requested/request thorough financial calculations, pushing the RIs' members to pay special attention to the financial aspects in order to overcome any financial shortcomings and make sure that these RIs will survive on a long-term with the aim of fulfilling their mission and objectives. In this regard, the article presents the approach applied in showing the long-term financial sustainability of METROFOOD-RI, a future distributed-RI operating in the ESFRI domain of Health & Food. METROFOOD-RI was included in ESFRI Roadmap in 2018 as an Active Project and in May 2022 completed its preparatory phase financed under the H2020 METROFOOD-PP project. It focuses on moving forward to METROFOOD-ERIC and becoming an ESFRI Landmark. National R&D Institute for Food Bioresources - IBA Bucharest is an active member of this RI and it was fully involved in preparing its financial plan, cost book and business plan. Families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) experience significant financial hardship, which could improve through financial planning and utilization of accounts such as the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE). Unfortunately, current rates of banking are low among individuals with disabilities, and no study has examined this phenomenon specifically among families of children with IDD. In this cross-sectional study, 176 parents shared their financial planning and utilization experience. Findings indicate that parents worry about their child's financial future, however, paradoxically, are not engaging in financial planning. Utilization of ABLE, checking and savings accounts, and special needs trusts are also low. Ex situ ('off‐site') management refers to keeping species in artificial conditions away from their natural habitat and includes captive breeding facilities, botanical gardens and seed banks. There is scope for ex situ programmes to be more commonly used for supplementing or establishing wild populations. However, undertaking ex situ management comes with risks, costs and uncertainties, which must be assessed in the context of available in situ ('on‐site') management options. The PACES (Planning and Assessment for Conservation through Ex situ management) tool tailors the principles of structured decision‐making to the specific problem of assessing and comparing ex situ and in situ management options. We applied the PACES tool to the mahogany glider (Petaurus gracilis), a threatened arboreal marsupial endemic to north Queensland, Australia. Through an expert elicitation process, we predicted the likely benefits of an ex situ and two in situ management options, as compared to a baseline 'do‐nothing' scenario. The 'in situ plus' alternative (where extra resources are dedicated to in situ management) was predicted to result in the largest population increase according to the participants' best estimates. However, this benefit came at a much larger cost than the ex situ alternative, and without the benefit of an ex situ insurance population. The PACES tool assessment allowed the Mahogany Glider Recovery Team to document and plan the financial costs, risks and benefits of potential future management options for the mahogany glider, laying a transparent basis for future assessment and decision‐making. The psychological implication of retirement is underemphasised. This study examined the relationship between proactive personality, social comparison, and retirement anxiety among Nigerian civil servants. The study is a cross-sectional design, using proactive personality, social comparison orientation, and Nigerian pre-retirement anxiety scales. Five hundred and eight staff members in government-owned tertiary institutions with five years or less to go until retirement, and at a mean age of 57.47 (SD = 3.02), were surveyed. The study established that a proactive personality negatively predicted retirement anxiety and that civil servants engage in diverse forms of intrapreneurship/entrepreneurship to augment their savings. The study also revealed that social comparison (opinion) mediated the relationship between proactive personality and retirement anxiety (financial preparedness and social alienation). In addition, the study found that social comparison (opinion and ability) mediated the relationship between proactive personality and retirement anxiety (financial preparedness) in a sequential order. The findings suggest that retirees in Nigeria face complex challenges, including financial unpreparedness, social alienation, and uncertainty. The study highlights the importance of understanding the relationship between personality traits, social comparison, and retirement anxiety in order to develop effective interventions and policies that support retirees in Nigeria. In affordability analyses by researchers and governments, various methods and indicators are applied. The conceptual advantages and weaknesses of the different affordability indicators have been extensively discussed in literature. The purpose of this article is to contribute to this debate by a case study of Flanders on the link between objective and subjective indicators of housing affordability. More specifically, the study tries to identify objective norms that maximize this relationship. The data is taken from the EU-SILC 2016 and the Flemish Housing Survey 2013. The analysis suggests that in Flanders a ratio with variable norms (by income groups) more closely reflects the subjective perception of affordability problems than the ratio indicators with fixed norms. As regards the residual income (RI) method, the RI with increased budget norms scores slightly better than the RI with basic budget norms on the association measures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
